as a bisexual who, very early into my coming out journey, was told by a complete stranger that 'nobody dates bisexuals because you are all cheaters,' I hope that Buck's journey is filled with joy, love, laughter, and excitement.

one of my biggest fic pet peeves is when they make a canon bi character gay, like?? there’s no need, they are already attracted to the same gender? literally what is the point of erasing their bisexuality, when it literally does not change the possibility of your ship happening? 😭 idk, it just does not sit well with me, lol

Ah yes, because 'women are not bisexual unless they are dating women' like babes you are thinking of lesbian.
Same story biphobic straights don't like that bisexuals will be in non m/f pairings and biphobic queers don't like that bisexuals will be in m/f pairings.
ITS BOTH THATS THE DEFINITION ITS M/F PAIRING *AND* NON M/F PAIRING BISEXUALS ARE INTO BOTH!!!!!
Curious what they think about bi men or bi anything else. Why just bi women?? Don't even want to ask what they think about being pan.
It's the lgt to them I guess, if they even include the t.

Hey remember when someone said making posts ridiculing bi people is weird since biphobia isn't taken seriously and how there are several famous cases of bi women facing IPV and people took it as an attack on themselves and started being biphobic and victim blaming

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bisexuals are more vulnerable to IPV than gay and straight people because they are bi. We don't have a "privilege". We are discriminated against too. If was because bi women dated men more (which is a false narrative) then why do straight women not have it the highest?
It's the same for bisexual men. Statistics show that bisexual men face the highest IPV compared to gay and straight men.
And again it's not because bisexuals date the opposite gender more. It's because of biphobia. Bisexuals are discriminated against because of our bisexuality.

Episode 27: Little Moments
Throughout his life, Paul had experienced many moments that reinforced his decision to ignore his sexuality. Most only lasted a few seconds--
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Teacher: “Boys don't play with dolls.”
Tumblr media
Students: "Paul is always staring at Deshawn." "I know, what a weirdo!"
-–but the weight of these moments made them feel like they lasted forever. As time passed, society progressed and attitudes changed. In high school, some of his friends, including his crush Deshawn, had even come out as gay. Paul thought he might finally be able to be himself. Yet even when in the company of those who should have been accepting, those little moments continued adding up.
Tumblr media
Deshawn: “I wouldn't date a bisexual guy." Wesley: “They don't know what they want.” Danica: “I think they're just in denial.”
Tumblr media
The seconds turned to minutes and minutes to hours until those small moments added up to a lifetime. A lifetime of avoiding the truth, of pretending. A lifetime of feeling like an outsider, a liar, an empty shell.
Tumblr media
A lifetime of loneliness. It wasn’t that he wasn’t attracted to women. He knew he wasn’t gay, and for a while it seemed like the easiest solution to feeling unaccepted was to put his attraction to men aside, to store it away in a part of his brain that he would simply choose not to access.
Tumblr media
He thought he could continue to date women and pretend like that side of him didn’t exist. He could still have everything he wanted–a devoted partner to have children with–without having to face the potential of rejection from the rest of society. But it wasn’t true. He could marry a woman that he truly loved, but he would still feel rejected, lonely, and dishonest as long as he continued hiding who he was.
Tumblr media
Paul knew that something had to change. As scary as it was, he couldn’t live the life he dreamed of if he remained in the closet. Paul looked at himself in the mirror and took a deep breath before finally speaking aloud the words he’d been holding in his whole life. “I’m bisexual.” It felt better than he could have imagined.
Tumblr media
Now he just needed the courage to say it to everyone else.

This person literally does not know that bi girls don’t need to date men.
Tumblr media
We’re attracted to men and women, we’re attracted to all genders, and you know what? If I like cookies and cupcakes, but I only wanted to eat cupcakes, and never ate cookies, and never had the desire to- despite having the capacity to- it wouldn’t change anything. I would still be a person who likes cookies and cupcakes, it’s just that I only eat cupcakes. That’s Poison Ivy. And that’s 100% okay.
Btw, the “bi erasure pass” does not exist <3

I don’t know why it’s so common for people to say that queer/trans characters are a political statement, that the writers are ‘going woke’, people being themselves and existing as themselves is not political. I’ve also seen this with real people, not just characters. People’s existence isn’t a grab for attention. Not everything has to have some secret ulterior motive. Just let people be themselves.

It's so interesting when people say "mspec lesbians have a long and complicated history" and then you actually research said long and complicated history and it's all just biphobia. That's it. It's just people thinking person dating opposite gender = straight and person dating same gender = gay. It's the most straightforward bi erasure I've ever seen and I REMEMBER even in the early days of tumblr bisexuals fought against people reducing their sexuality down to just gay and straight. And now while people are clamoring to be bi lesbians, I see no one vying to reclaim "bihet", which is just the same thing in another direction. Really makes you think

seeing some of my mutuals falling for lesbophobia covered up as "inclusivity" makes me wince (yes im talking about bi and pan "lesbians", they do so much more harm than good with their lesbophobic, biphobic, and even transphobic implications)

Note
For a fandom whose main character is bisexual there’s a disturbing amount of biphobia!

Actually, I think the argument against the term mspec lesbian that goes something like "it will force reeaalll lesbians to include men in their sexuality" is just the same recycled monosexism/biphobia that has been going around for years. First it was, "I don’t want bisexuals in our spaces because what if they bring their boyfriends" and "I wouldn’t date a mspec person because they’ve been touched by a man." And now it’s "those dirty mspecs are going to make me date a man!" News flash: no mspec person is trying to force you to date a man, and shitty men are always going to try to force people who don’t want to be with them to be with them. Even if mspec people didn’t exist, that would not change in the slightest. Blaming mspec people for that is and always has been monosexist.

the stereotype that bisexuals are promiscuous is actually a statistical error. Dorian Gray, who has slept with everyone within a fifteen mile radius of London, is an outlier and should not have been counted.
