After spending so much time watching dimension 20 I seriously don’t think I’ll ever be able to tolerate regular tv. My little gay heart has never seen this kind of queer representation in tv and it is nourishing my soul. And queerness is never the butt of any joke and the characters experiencing and figuring out their sexualities isn’t always sad and dramatic.
I have never related to something so much. This silly show of just a bunch of cool actor friends playing D&D has probably changed my life: I feel like I know who I am better now???
I am eternally grateful to Brennan Lee Mulligan and literally every person involved in Dimension 20 for giving us this show and this outlet to figure ourselves out. Also gonna be eternally annoyed with Dimension 20 every time I have to watch a straight romcom - give me gay wizards and fairies and candy people any day

I’m watching misfits and magic on dropout rn to take a small break from fantasy high, and ooohhh boy. Evan Kelmp is just the type of character I attach myself too. He is so incredibly pathetic and I am thriving.

So I just finished re-watching Misfits and Magic, and I know a lot of people talk about how it's kind of sad that Jammer and Sam don't really have arcs like K and Evan. . . I have thoughts about that. In modern Western cinema, we expect protagonists to have an arc, where they change, grow, learn things and are different people from the beginning of the story to the end. This is most common in movies, and then books. But the thing is we also have a type of protagonist that's more common in TV shows, where the character stays mostly the same, and by doing so they affect the world around them or bring out interesting themes and call out issues in the world, just by being themselves. (Think the crew of the Enterprise in Star Trek TNG.) Misfits and Magic has BOTH of these kinds of characters. K and Evan are movie protagonists. Jammer and Sam are TV show protagonists. And I love that they coexist and both make each other's types of stories stronger. This time around, I really appreciated the constancy of Sam and Jammer, the way they don't really change, but seem to grow more solidly into who they already were at the beginning of the show. They expose the foibles of the world by having the world brush against THEM. They change the world and the characters around them, by staying true to who they are. K and Evan change the world because they are changing themselves. Both kinds of stories are valid, and both kinds of stories are needed.

Did this remind anyone else of when Lou and Brennan didn't know what a mukbang was during Misfits and Magic?

[before you scroll please note i am in desperate need of opinions so at the very least vote randomly if you do]
okay i don’t know how big the dimension 20 fandom is on here but i just gained access to a dropout tv account (thanks gully) and am trying to get through every dimension 20 show there is. i already watched season 1 of Fantasy High + Escape From The Bloodkeep and have just finished a Court of Fey and Flowers and have no idea if i should just start season 2 of fantasy high immediately or try out another different series because as much as i love it i have spent so much time with just fantasy high over the years.
like with all good decisions im making others choose for me, please vote on whichever one you think i should try next and if you don’t know what they are but have found this poll just pick whichever name you want. you make the rules i just play by them!! tyyy
the two fantasy high spinoffs are being left until after fantasy high. also ravening war is obviously gonna happen after acoc so thats no on there either. literally just want to know where the fuck to go from here cause everything looks amazing.
also if im missing one somehow. whoops. just vote with whats here idk
UPDATE: oh my god holy shit tysm everyone?? was NOT expecting ti get over 500 votes but very happy to not only get input on this but also know that the d20 fandom is alive and thriving!!
im probably going to watch the unsleeping city, fantasy high s2, and then the other intrepid hero campaigns (and i will be watch m&m + mentopolis during a strastruck odyssey), but now im more excited to watch all of them just by hearing everyone’s opinions (except shriek week apparently) (a acoc but only because it seems amazing but i WILL cry)
ty again for the input, appreciate it sm <3
