10 fandoms / 10 characters / 10 tags
tagged by the wonderful @seiya-starsniper! thank you for the tag friend ✨
1. Loki (MCU)
Look, this is the undisputed number one spot. Loki has been my ride or die for the past 14 years (!!!), my first tattoo is dedicated to him, and he’s the character that got me through the loneliest and scariest periods of my life. Loki will always be my number one, tbh.
2. Dream of the Endless (The Sandman)
Now, Dream is the character that simply bust down the doors to my heart and took residence, no questions asked. Through Dream and The Sandman fandom I was able to connect to parts of my identity I wasn’t aware of, and to make so many great friends! Dream means a lot to me (so much so that my *second* tattoo is of the dreamstone— in a grand total of two lol)
3. Edward Elric (Full Metal Alchemist)
Ed is the blueprint of the pissed off short king tbh. I always related to how he dealt with guilt and how driven he is, and his character arc was one of the most captivating I’ve ever had the pleasure to experience. As a 14 year old, I would for real go out in public wearing his red cloak.
4. Chrono (Chrono Crusade)
If I have unreasonable expectations of Love, Chrono is the one to blame. Throughout the entire show (and the manga, which I do feel has the better ending) his dedication and kindness to the people he loves and cares about was just incredibly captivating to a 12 year old Virgo. Real character building stuff.
5. Sora (Kingdom Hearts)
Sora had the sickest shoes and my taste for unreasonably large and perhaps sorta ugly sneakers comes from him for sure. I just love that spiky little guy.
6. Raven (Teen Titans)
Raven was honestly the first character that made me go “she’s just like me fr!” There was always something super fascinating about her, and how complex she is. It was nice seeing female characters like her and Starfire in cartoons.
7. Howl Pendragon (Howl’s Moving Castle)
I identify with Howl in many ways, but mostly in how dramatic and absolutely pathetic he is. Also I do feel like a monster sometimes and a way to visualise that is to imagine I’m covered in green slime.
8. Haruhi Fujioka (Ouran High School Host Club)
Ouran should have been my queer awakening, but I think I was too young to realise I was what a large part of my identity was unlocked through this character. Main girlie with a drag queen dad that doesn’t bow to gender norms and just , wants to be left alone please leave her alone she doesn’t want all the trouble come on—
9. Chihiro (Spirited Away)
She was a child, in a shitty situation, learning to find strength within herself to keep going, to trust her instincts, to keep surviving. She means so much to me!
10. Nick Nelson (Heartstopper)
Nick is just oddkdkdkdkdkddkfo he’s allowed me to have good feelings about bisexuality!!! About my teenage bi experience!!! The whole of Heartstopper, really, but Nick’s kindness and his whole journey of self discovery helped heal something in me. Good retriever boyfriends for the win!
Bonus: 11. Bucky Barnes (MCU)
I didn’t want to repeat a fandom, but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Bucky. Another character that I just immediately clicked with, and watching him be developed in so many different movies (and even a tv show!) was very special.

Tom Hiddleston and Lily James Talk Justice for Pamela Anderson and Why Loki Works so Well on TV
For “Downton Abbey” alum Lily James, 2022 has been a year of glamour and drama. She took on the role of Pamela Anderson in Hulu’s “Pam & Tommy,” which looked sympathetically at Anderson’s attempt to be taken seriously. Tom Hiddleston’s work is similarly multifaceted in “Loki,” where he plays Marvel’s trickster god, who’s gone from “Avengers” villain to lead of his own Disney+ series; Hiddleston also stars in Apple TV+ historical drama “The Essex Serpent.”
TOM HIDDLESTON: I thought your work was extraordinary. Taking on a real person feels like an enormous responsibility.
LILY JAMES: It’s terrifying, isn’t it?
HIDDLESTON: You want to honor and respect and —
JAMES: I felt like if I came at it with heart, and a total desire to be honest, that was all I could do. I don’t know if I’d do it again anytime soon. I felt that desire to do her justice.
HIDDLESTON: Where do you begin with becoming Pamela Anderson?
JAMES: I just had pictures of Pamela everywhere. And then I had these prosthetic boobs and forehead. It took four hours every day. And during that time, I had a montage of her interviews from the ’90s, and I would learn it like a song. The pitch and the rhythm. She speaks really, really fast. I stayed in her the whole time.
HIDDLESTON: People on the crew, did they ever get to know Lily James?
JAMES: I don’t think so. Nor Sebastian Stan. We really didn’t get to know each other till we started doing press. And the days were so long, 18 hours or so. I find that the Americans are worse with long days than us. I found that so hard. How has that been with you and “Loki”? It was probably long days, getting into him.
HIDDLESTON: Loki’s changed so much over the years for me. I was cast when I was 29, and I’m 41.
JAMES: Credit to you for having let him emerge and grow and shift.
HIDDLESTON: Initially, with the wigs and the costume, I was always trying to break out of the mask. Let something honest come through. By the time we got to the series, Loki’s stripped of all the things that are familiar. Immediately, he’s literally stripped and put in a jumpsuit, and his status is gone. Everyone knows who the character is now. Let’s open him up and find new aspects of him and challenge the character to change and grow.
JAMES: I was reading, which is so exciting, that Loki is the first queer Marvel character.
HIDDLESTON: In the MCU. Back from my early days of researching the character in myths, the identity of Loki was fluid in every aspect. In gender, in sexuality. It’s an ancient part of the character, and it hadn’t emerged in the stories we’ve told. It’s a small step. There’s so much more to do. But the Marvel Cinematic Universe has to reflect the world we live in. Extraordinary character, in a way, to contain so much.
JAMES: I got to watch “The Essex Serpent.” I want to know about that first meeting with Claire Danes.
HIDDLESTON: There is a meeting between my character and Claire Danes’ character, and it’s kind of unusual. It’s 1893 and she’s out on the Essex coast digging around for fossils. She runs into this very faithful and God-fearing community, and I play the pastor.
JAMES: The landscape, it’s so beautiful and atmospheric. Why did you want to do that job?
HIDDLESTON: It seemed very romantic in an old-fashioned way, and yet really earthbound. I just wanted to jump in.
JAMES: Obviously, it’s very different from “Loki.” Is that a purposeful choice you make?
HIDDLESTON: It couldn’t be more different. I read it towards the end of making “Loki.” These characters are all struggling because it’s a time of enormous change. The age of reason is coming, and religion is going to diminish. It’s a psychological, poetic piece, and I loved making it, out on the marshes in Essex.
JAMES: When you are somewhere real and you are out there in the landscape, even if you are freezing cold …
HIDDLESTON: You put up with it. With Claire, I would be a weatherman. I kept pitching that spring was coming, and that U.K. weather wasn’t always this bad.
JAMES: “It’s going to be nice!”
HIDDLESTON: So every day, we’re like, “I know it’s cold and it’s quite wet today, but next week, just you wait.”
JAMES: But you wouldn’t really have wanted the sun. Something feels so brooding and troubling. And if the sun had shone through the clouds, it might have slightly ruined the temperature.
HIDDLESTON: There was one amazing day where the sky and the beach were the same color gray. Claire and I were walking towards the tide, and I said to her, “This is like walking into a Rothko painting.” It was like being on the moon. I couldn’t believe it was England.

Fic Writer Question Meme
Thank you to @missroserose :) their post is the one I saw first
TW for all my fics! Any fic I link probably has at least one common trigger in it and at the time of writing it I may not have properly labeled it.
How many works do you have on Ao3?
63 are published on Ao3, I believe 38 on FF, and maybe 5 on Tumblr? I have over ~1800 WIPs unpublished as some of my WIPs are published amid those websites/apps
What’s your total Ao3 word count?
200k, uh 206,726 to be exact
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
uh, lemme count my folders in Notes…. a minimum of 63… Holy Crow 63 again. I’m still gonna go count the specifics too cuz some of these are huge groupings like MCU or Disney. Okay so 63 + 53 is 116 I think? So 116 fandoms? oh god wait what are they? ill make a list,,,
Fandoms I’ve Written For:
A Quiet Place, Aladdin, Alice in Wonderland, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Barbie, Beauty and the Beast, Big Hero Six, Jump, Brave,
Cinderella (all), Encanto, Ever After High, Frozen, HTTYD, The Little Mermaid (all), Luca, Moana, RotG, Robots (2005), Sing, Tangled, The Incredibles,
Toy Story (3-4), Winx, Zootopia, The Umbrella Academy, Castle, The Flash, BTS, The Nutcracker, Subnautica, FNAF:SB, Spiritfarer, ATLA, Gravity Falls, I Am Mother,
Corpse, Cartoonz, Delirious, Irish/Spooky!Lads, Gab Smolders, LilyPichu, Micheal Reeves, Markiplier, Amy Nelson,
The Last of Us, CrankGamePlays, GassyMexican, Smii7y, Kryoz, Thomas Sanders, Julie & the Phantoms, Other Kpop, The Three Female Runaways,

Shang-Chi, Doctor Strange, Dead by Daylight, Don’t Starve, & more I couldnt find cuz theyre only in Crossovers lol
What are your top 5 fics by Kudos?
1. [All Inclusive Twitter Memes]
2. [Autistic!Character Ideas & Stories]
3. [☂️👶🏻👶🏼]
4. [Standing Up Again]
5. [Night Valen in New York]
These are still pretty surprising to me. The Twitter fic is expected, so is the Autism fic, but the last three really are out of left field
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
Yes! Absolutely. I don’t fully know how to explain both my feelings and the psychology behind why I respond to comments; but know I’m very passionate about doing so!
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Phew, uh, lemme look actually cuz most Angst fics are triggering for me so I never finish them- okay so TW obviously. The angstiest ending I think I’ve ever written (I THINK) is the character revealing their c/s/a to family members
Do you write Crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?
I write almost exclusively in Crossovers lmfao. I have a folder literally named Pandora’s Box where I put my fics that need multiple notes just to keep track. Lemme go find the most complex one,,,
okay so my bestie and I are working on a fic with tens of characters from VERY different places who are all villians and are attending a mental hospital (its legitimate, not a horror fic. I’ve been in one so we’re making it as realistic as we can without it being too triggering or unfun)
Have you ever recieved hate on a fic?
I don’t know… I take a lot of criticism as hate even though it’s not so I don’t really remember the bad ones anymore. I keep comments that make me happy in my inbox for bad days.
Do you write Smut? If so, what kind?
Yes, although I rarely post it. I’m not very good at it so it’s mostly fics about very specific kinks I’ve fantisized about and are having the characters act out in my place.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don’t think so. I may have blocked it out if it did occur.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, though I’m fully welcome to that.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
The fic I mentioned previously is my first project with someone else. I don’t write well with many people so, my bestie is really my only option.
What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Probably “Ineffable Husbands”. I’ve felt so much comfort from canon, fanfiction, and the fandom. I learned to love my body because of fanart of Aziraphale.
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
It’s a fic from like 2015. I’m partially ashamed of it and partially obsessed still. I won’t describe it due to being embarrassed by it’s current state.
I do plan to try rewriting it though. Just recently I discovered it again and considered posting it as it was just to free myself from it.
What are your writing strengths?
I really don’t know? I like to think I’m good at Titles and Summaries, but I have evidence against that. Sometimes, I feel like my crossover ideas, the links and connections I find, are very unique. I don’t even know what you’d call that besides Creativity though.
What are your writing weaknesses?
I was gonna say the genres Angst and Smut. Then, I was gonna mention my grammar. In the end though, I think I struggle to characterize and choose one rule of logic to follow.
I’m far too logical one moment and competely uncaring of logic the next. I also project onto characters far too much sometimes. In my opinion, anyway.
If you’ve read my fics I welcome you to express what my weakness (and strength) is because I’m biased.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Yes. Just, Yes. I’m currently working on a fic where the characters speak a mix of 3 dialects of Spanish and Quechua.
The fic is in English of course because I’m not fluent in any of those languages, but I’m writing songs for the fic in those languages and interspersing famous proverbs people tend to use (like “dont judge a book by its cover” but the spanish equivalent) throughout the fic
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Young Justice probably. I don’t remember if I wrote fanfics before I learned what it was. I imagine I may have written for Winx when I was in Elementary, but I didn’t know it was fic so i can’t recall it now
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
Oh this is difficult. On FF my favorite has always been [One Death, Two Scars].
On Ao3…. godex I love these a lot: [Loss of the Wild], [Indulgence], [Secrets….Shhh], [An Unknown Chance], [Love Like You], [Father], [Atlantis: The Lost Wilds], [A Beauty, A Beast, and Some Princes], [Pidge]…. but if I have to pick One???
I really don’t know ahhh. I didn’t even include any of the WIPs… I adore [Modern Medicine], oh and [Secret Memories] oh I truly love this one, I like [What’s Left of Us] and [A Seer’s Trance] a lot… [Changed Fate] is good. I haven’t mentioned a lot of the fics I’m proud of because I’m similtaneously a little embarrassed by the current state of writing,,, but
I just love a lot of my work. I learned a time ago that every piece of work you make is valuable in your progression as a writer. To love myself, I have to love what I create, too. Well, not all of it, but I have to appreciate what the fic has done for me to grow from it.
I like [Confident In Love], [“Crossovers”] is great, [Accidental Burn] is so good, and [Brick by Brick a Family is] is definitely absolutely one of my favorites.
I have a fic just called [🌲💫🗯] that I love (actually any of my Gravity Falls fics I love probably). [Good Parenting 101] is sweet, [Subversions] is like [Indulgence] lol very self indulgent- OH and I havent even mention how many of my Stardew Valley fics for my OC Aluna are so good! Though I don’t know if I’ve ever posted them,,,, oh I also have a completely different fic called [Subversions] thats very different lmao
[Shaking] makes me happy, [Captain America: Falcon’s Call] is definitely a fic I want to finish someday, [The True Iron Legion] is ahhh I love it- okay I need to stop lol I love too many of my fics to keep listing them! I really hope you’ll check them out though,,, I love them a lot.
Nevermind, One more!!! I forgot about [정말 너무 혼란스러 (Never leave me alone)]. Oh screw it. I’m gonna keep recommending my favorites. [Heroes Endgame] is a bit dramatic but It took a lot of work to think about lol. Honestly any of my Luca fics I think are pretty good. I think [‘Ohahu Anu] is really creative. Most my Encanto fics are decent or great.

what are your favourite superhero tv shows?
If I had to pick just one it'd be Jessica Jones, it really leans into the dark aspects of superhero nonsense and does not shy away from heavy themes, but that makes the few moments of levity all the more impactful. The way it handles how messy PTSD and SA are is so kind and grounded, not just despite the fantastical elements, but because of them. Like truly this show is a work of art, every shot and line is packed with meaning. But honestly Daredevil is a close second. The cinematography makes me insane!! Like the continous shot hall fight scenes!!! And the way the lighting and costume department uses color!! (Also Luke Cage is definitly worth watching, it stumbles in places but it is very good! Also defenders as some amazing character moments but the plot is not it. and iron fist is...there.)
Loki and Wanda Vision are stellar shows, the costume and set design alone are enough to elevate these shows. The acting and choreography are so good and they have all the right kind of weirdness I want from comic book properties! Unfortunately, the writing issues are glaring. Like the early episodes are masterful, but they are less than the sum of their parts which sucks ass I wish these shows were better. Falcon and the winter soldier doesn't have the writing problem, I totally see what the show is trying to say, the dramatic moments hit so well. It is very grounded, but it doesn't grip me the way the Netflix shows do, mainline Marvel movies have a color pallet problem. Like this is an important show and it's deeply meaningful I've watched it three times, but like I can't shake the feeling that the messaging is reform or the police and military and not abolish, which is not the move. But it understands why the issues exist which is really good!! (Also I haven't watched past episode 3 of moon knight, but I'll finish it soon-ish, but I like what I've seen so far)
Also Invincible!! It's an amazon prime show based on a comic that's not DC or Marvel, which like hell yeah!! This is THE superhero parady show! It is so meaningful and pointed in its parady, like it is truly is saying something about what the genre of superheroes represent. I'm not going to tell you what they represent because spoilers, this is truly a show you should go into blind, but also it is worth watching over and over again. All the character moments are deeply impactful and it's truly a beautiful coming of age story and I'm so hyped for s2 (Also Sandra Oh is there and she plays a milf, it's fantastic)
Speaking of cartoons! The Batman animated series was what hooked me on the idea of superheroes (the original superman movies were my introduction, but these cartoons got me to stay) I remember going into blockbuster and begging my mom to let me rent the DVD copies of this show. At some point, Batman beyond got mixed in there, also a fucking stellar show. Oh my goodness don't even get me started on Teen Titans!! Like DC's cartoons do not miss!! The Harley Quinn show goes fucking hard!! (very different target audience and tone than the animated series, but like Harley deserves it)
And while we're talking about cartoons, the ultimate spider-man lives rent-free in my head. I could not tell you the plot or even if the show is good, but Peter is so fucking funny. Also, the DC CW shows are my guilty pleasure. I know they're bad but Supergirl is hot and Katie McGrath is SO FUCKING HOT as Lena Luther. Don't ever watch these shows, but man I love them

fanfic writer asks
tagged by @abnerskrill, thank yoooou
How many works do you have on AO3?
26 but 10 of those are short writer's month prompt ficlets, so it's not as many as it sounds, especially if i actually do get to all 31 ficlets. so, like 16 with a ficlet series?
What’s your total AO3 word count?
108,920! i was kind of shocked. that's a not-bad amount of words for someone who is still somewhat uncomfortable being a fanfic writer.
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
6-7 - the magnus archives has the most atm; adventures in odyssey; mcu in general and the loki tv show specifically; taz balance; spn; and merlin. no, i'm not a child of 2013 tumblr, what are you talking about. spn and merlin are only short gen character studies, though, nothing intense.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
by FAR the most popular is my first tma fic, will your system be all right, the michael-has-misophonia study. 105 kudos!
Steadfast In the Broken Binding, also a tma fic, jonmichael slowburn set in a tma-ified version of the binding by br*dget c*llins (it also has 18 subscribers!!)
Perhaps I Had a Wicked Childhood, the steveloki time travel-ish fic
Variation On an Enemy, mcu fic with steve and loki but nonshippy/pre-relationship, set in the tva
5th place is tied between the devil gave me a crooked start and I Am Not the Only Traveler, which are both richard maxwell-centric aio fics. i am, as always, in love with my aio fic readers and kissing them on the mouth/wherever they are comfortable with/blowing them air kisses/shaking their hands sincerely. imagine a fandom 0.5% the size of mcu's and still much smaller than tma's but there are so many generous readers that the fics are still some of the most-kudos'd fics i have. j'adore.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
hmmmmm possibly you cannot kill me in a way that matters? that's the taako&merle taz balance fic set on the mushroom planet. one of my favorite kinds of flashback fics, in which POV Character starts out unhappy, takes on step towards healing, then takes a hasty two steps back!
it's possible my Sad Michael-POV TMA Standalone Fics Trilogy (will your system be all right, The Monster In the Impossible Halls, and In the Sweet Spot of the Throat) are the angstiest, but i feel like angst is expected in tma fics so it doesn't count as much. Sweet Spot does end jon and michael dying in each other's arms, though, so ymmv.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
I Am Not the Only Traveler! richason makeout session achieved <3
Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?
crossovers are my favorite thing to write. they generally get me excited to write the most, bc i am still largely uncomfortable writing fanfic, so there's a layer of protection, almost, in putting familiar characters in different-but-still-familiar situations. it frees me up to focus on character and plot rather than endlessly worrying about canon details. i do usually only do the kind of crossover where i use the chars from Property A in the world of Property B, with no actual character crossover. i'm not up to writing richard maxwell and michael shelley interacting......................... yet.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
nope! almost certainly never will. i've written 2 smutty ficlets for my own original fiction and while it was interesting and i liked how one of them turned out, it also made me sort of uncomfortable, as an ace person and as someone who's never experienced it anyway. i read it for some ships, and unfortunately it's impossible not to learn the language of smut fics even without reading them, but i get embarrassed even publishing works with kissing in them because i can never tell if the verisimilitude is there. it's very hard for me to judge the authenticity. i can see myself maybe one day writing a vaguer M-rated fic but it's just not something i have any interest in writing or frequently reading right now.
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
i try! it usually takes me a bit, as in anything requiring human communication, but i do appreciate comments so i try to thank ppl for them
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
nope!
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
there's not a big audience for gen no-dialogue character studies and ficlets about two men from a conservative christian kid's radio show kissing, so no
Have you ever had a fic translated?
see above answer
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
nope~
What’s your all-time favorite ship?
all-time to write? richard/jason. they come very naturally to me since i've been listening to them speak since i was like, 12. steveloki is a close second <3
all-time in general? GOD idk, too many !!! steveloki, richason, jonmichael, morgwen, abed/jeff, comet (costis/kamet), dinluke............ i have lots and i'd probably give 50% of a different answer if you asked me tomorrow
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
in my darker moments i worry that i will never finish Steadfast In the Broken Binding because i just updated it for the first time in over a year. and by "just" i mean, like, two months ago. but i really really want to, and i have a lot of half-formed ideas for how it's going to go, along with a pretty firm ending.
i REALLY doubt i'll ever finish tuesdays in the park with steve. i thought it'd be easy! but it's not! it's not something i should be this worked up over making sure it makes sense, since i am in no hurry to return to this particular crossover after the "mystery spot" spoof is over! but here! we! are! the next chapter is just going to always be half-written in my fic folder i guess
What are your writing strengths?
fuck me if i know. the most consistent compliment i've been given is that my character voices are authentic, which is my favorite compliment because staying true to the characters i love is, at the end of the day, all i care about, so that's nice
What are your writing weaknesses?
plotting, especially clarity. devastating first comment on Perhaps I Had a Wicked Childhood was that they ended up liking it but still didn't really know what was going on. quelle horreur. pacing is sooooo important to me as a reader but it's not something i've mastered as a writer. sometimes i give into the temptation to force the plot to go where it needs to go, and that's not good!!! i just get impatient. :/
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
if you know the language well enough to demonstrate your character's actual fluency in it, go nuts!
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
adventures in odyssey! tbh that's why the devil gave me a crooked start has so many kudos, it's been around several years longer than the others (2017).
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
it's hard to choose !!! will your system be all right is still really meaningful to me but it's sloppier than i would write it now (it was a vent fic and i published it without proofreading it really at all).
Perhaps I Had a Wicked Childhood, on the other hand, i always remember as sloppier than it actually was, and every time i actually reread a bit of it i'm really proud of it, at least stylistically.
you cannot kill me in a way that matters is, imho, one of my best works when taken as a whole and it kind of kills me that it barely cracked 100 hits. i know why it didn't, ofc, but still. i forget i wrote it sometimes but then i remember and my heart just goes <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
tagging @biromantic-nerd and any of my other moots who do fanfic !! only if you feel like it <3

@sarcasticsciencefictionwriter thanks for the tag!
How many works do you have on ao3?
13, currently.
2. What's your total ao3 word count?
134,289 at the moment.
Higher than I thought it was, actually.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Fantastic Beasts, Hannibal (TV), Pokémon, and Dr. Strange (Movie).
Hannibal numbers in the most, and there are only one each of Pokémon and Dr. Strange. Really into Hannibal right now. I love writing the Murder Husbands!
One of my FB ones is also slotted into Harry Potter, since it was from Luna's point of view.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Autumnal (Hannibal TV)- 110
A Hades & Persephone based story with Will being the Queen of the Underworld and returning home on the autumnal equinox.
His Shadow Suspended on Dust (Hannibal TV)- 74
A post-fall omega verse where Jack catches up with Will and Hannibal a few years later, and he and Will talk.
Estivel (Hannibal TV)- 41
The prequel to Autumnal, with Will and Hannibal's courtship.
It Wasn't Supposed to Happen This Way (Dr. Strange Movie)- 33
A little fluffy Dr. Strange/Loki mpreg I originally posted here.
Beneath the Brine (Hannibal TV)- 26
A story about Will and Hannibal's life after the fall until they're old men.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I was a bit intimidated at first to respond, to be honest, then I thought too much time had passed for a bit. But I respond to almost all of them now (do my best to answer in a different language if they commented in it).
I generally thank everyone for their comment, because I have not received any bad ones yet, and it means a lot to me that they took the time to let me know they enjoyed it. Haven't gotten a lot yet, but I am willing to answer any questions or engage in any nerdy conversations about the fandom.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Uh... That one was a bit hard, but I would have to say a Fantastic Beasts story I wrote about Percival Graves called No Man in the Mirror. It's a story where Graves was found and rescued at some point, and feeling like he doesn't exist anymore.
Or another Percival Graves one called Haven't Been the Same (Since I Expired) where Graves is totally erased... By his own actions and choice (can't reveal any more without spoiling it). That one might be more dark than angsty, though.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I would have to say my Fantastic Beasts/Harry Potter story, More, from Luna Lovegood's POV. It's really angsty story about why she and Rolf became parents later than everyone else (lots of heartache and miscarriages), but it ends with them having their twins.
8. Do you get hate on fic?
No, I don't think so. I consider myself lucky for that, but I did get a comment by some bot trying to get to join a supposed to discord server for the Marvel fandom.
9. Do you write smut?
Nope. I'll write something kind of 'teasing' and cut-to-black or just skim over it, but no hardcore stuff from me.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Not generally, but I slotted one of my Pokémon ones into both manga and games because it was manga-centric with elements of the games. I also have a Fantastic Beasts/Harry Potter story, but I don't think that counts as a crossover.
I do have an idea for a Hannibal/Supernatural crossover that I hope to cowrite (see below).
I have some fics that take the world from one thing and place the characters from another in there, but I don't generally count those as crossovers unless characters from both things are included. If they do count as crossovers, then I have a Hannibal/Caraval (by Stephanie Garber), Hannibal/The Handmaid's Tale, and a Hannibal/The Third Day (HBO) all collected into a story called Fragments. The Third Day and Caraval ones will eventually be put into bigger stories, hopefully.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I know of, but if someone asks, I would probably give my permission as long as they credited me as the original writer.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
No, but I've been trying to make plans with @sarcasticsciencefictionwriter for one. I have chapter 1 on the idea, so any sort of work is being held up by yours truly.
I would be excited to be invited to so by the few authors I have had comment conversations with, though!
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
It's a tie between Newtina (Newt Scamander and Tina Goldstein in FB) and Hannigram (Hannibal Lecter and Will Graham). They're both my favorites, for VERY different reasons.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but probably won't?
I'm not sure if I have one at the moment, but it feels like it's going to be my Percival Graves and Leta Lestrange story, All Night or a Hundred Years. I love it so much and I know exactly how it's going to end, but the middle has just ground to a halt.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Angst and/or angsty love stuff, looking at my fics and original work. I don't really know! 😅 I guess I would have to say it depends on what exactly I'm writing.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
A lot.
Fluff, romance, purposeful humor. A lot of it just seems so cringy to me.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?
I do it when I can. Mostly Lithuanian in Hannibal fics, like mylamasis (beloved) or a few words thrown in here and there. I don't speak any other languages, and what I know of them is usually self-taught by fanfictions, to be honest.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Pokémon! I can't actually remember if it was a Looker story I wrote based off the manga, or an Alain/Mairin fic based off one of my favorite books.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
Don't make me choose!
But... I'd have to say Beneath the Brine. I have no idea why. It was my first Hannibal fanfiction, and I just love it so much. I'm also going to slot No Man in the Mirror and an FB Theseus and Lally story I wrote called A Night in New York as well. All three are things I am very proud of.

how did avengers loki get his hair to look like that is thanos torturing him but also supplying him with hair gel so he still looks pretty for him?
i am sending this anon because i dont want to admit i have thought too much about loki's hair in various mcu projects. earlier today i wondered whether his hair in thor was just gelled for styling reasons but then it looked a bit wrong on camera somehow and subsequent directors in the franchise saw it and assumed it was meant to be greasy and that's how raganorok happened. i support most of taika's choices with that movie but i cannot accept the idea that loki would ever allow his hair to get into that state.
i feel very strongly that based on general characterisation loki would wash his hair frequently and probably use all manner of products in it to the point where people mock him for it because wtf loki you take hours to get ready and you smell like a lush shop.
the disney plus loki show can be viewed as evidence that it was something to do with wigs and inferior styling products however one could also dispute that with a simple "no actor would let you do that to their real hair that is actually stuck to their own real head." perhaps the in-story explanation for this apparent discontinuity of grease is that mobius introduced his mischevious charge to shampoo, as mobius is quite clearly a man of impeccable grooming which now that i think about it may be intended symbolise his by-the-book bureaucratic (i had to google how to spell that) approach to his world prior to him having a character arc and coming to accept that workplace arson is the solution to most of his problems.
if that last paragraph has piqued your interest i have additional thoughts on sylvie's blondeness and what it might tell us about her character as well as how she might have accessed hairdressing products and/or services while on the run from the tva. i can supply these ideas via further anon messages if you wish to continue this correspondence.
if you somehow guess my identity from this anon message please pretend otherwise as i could never live with the shame of knowing that another human being is aware of how much i care about this and related issues.
kind regards and thank you for your time. and sorry. i only meant to submit that opening sentence but i got carried away by my hubristic nature, which i accept as the tragic flaw that will lead to my inevitable downfall.
i am fascinated by this ask omfg fhsaddkjlfhsjka
okay so I've thought a lot about Loki's hair too but most of said thoughts have been "oh my god I love Avengers Loki's hair" and "ughhh The Dark World Loki's hair does things to me" and "I will crash through my tv screen and wash Ragnarok Loki's hair myself if I have to" so now I really want to think of the in-universe explanations for his hair
first of all, I can totally see Thor (or Frigga or just somebody who's not him) doing his hair in the first movie, because that explains why it's never that neatly slicked back again.
then i think his hair grew a bit when he was with Thanos and before he made his dramatic first appearance on Midgard, he knew he had to fix the mess it had become over the last year. we see in Roxxcart in the second episode of the show that he can dry himself (and, notably, his hair) with magic, so I feel like it would make sense that he can and did try to recreate his pre-exile hairstyle with magic and that's why it's still slicked back like it was in Thor (2011) but it's different because he doesn't usually have to do his own hair (or idk maybe he did do his own hair but he had product he used for it and obviously Thanos doesn't have that in the Sanctuary so that's the best he could do)
and then The Dark World happens and he falls into a state of depression and he doesn't really do anything to his hair for the next year and a half. maybe he has a hairbrush and he brushes it before and after the showers he's allowed to take twice a week in the dungeons, but that's about it. Thor and Odin never come to visit so he doesn't have to look his best for them, he doesn't give a shit what the guards think of him, and he knows Frigga doesn't care what his hair looks like so he doesn't really care, either.
I feel like by TDW, Loki's hair is already getting a lil greasy, but Ragnarok just dumps grease on his head. his hair's (mostly?) neater than dungeon!Loki's, but so much worse. and I think that's because he spends so much time as Odin that he sometimes forgets that he needs to shower his normal Loki self, too. he probably uses that normal Loki form sporadically, and not for days at a time in a way that makes it very clear when he needs a shower (ie it's been three days and tbh any longer than that without a shower is kinda getting gross bro), so he feels like he's only been in this form collecting grease in his scalp for, like, 12 hours max, but actually, the last time he took a shower as himself was two months and a solid five or six Loki-form-days ago and he's just been too busy and too lazy to really notice just how bad his hair was getting and tbh if he'd known Thor was going to expose his ass in front of his people he absolutely would have taken a shower that morning and honestly it was really rude of Thor not to phone ahead and come on Skurge your one job was to give him enough time to wash his hair in case this exact situation came to fruition >:(
and then Loki wasn't in Infinity War at all so we're not gonna talk about that movie. nope. mm-mm. it was a Loki-free film. so tragic that we never saw what became of the main timeline's Loki after Ragnarok.
and then the Loki series happens and tbh there's absolutely no way to explain what happened to his hair between The Avengers and the show but dammit, I'm gonna do it anyway. so when he fixed up his hair before showing up on Midgard, he didn't actually have any product (duh. because, again, he's in the Sanctuary). so it's been a bit of a struggle to make it look nice throughout the movie and he's actually been using a subtle amount of magic to keep it in place the whole time. then he takes the Tesseract, and though he tries to act all casual in Endgame, he clearly isn't controlling it very well because he pretty much falls on his face as soon as he escapes. so when he uses his Tesseract, all of his attention turns to that, and he stops using the magic that keeps his hair looking all snazzy without its product, so the whirlwind of the Tesseract and the fall into the sand really fucks it all up, and that's why it's such a non-greasy mess in the first scene.
his hair really does look better when he's in the TVA and worse when he's with Sylvie, so I firmly believe you're right and Mobius did give him some snazzy TVA-brand shampoo and conditioner and maybe even mousse? (no hair gel tho </3) and Loki was living his best stylish life. and then obviously he ended up in apocalypse world and then back at the TVA and then the Void and it's a whole rollercoaster of hair destroyers and god he needs to ask Sylvie how she keeps her hair so nice through all of this commotion because he's failing at it so badly
this has been my Loki hairnalysis. thank you for coming to my TED talk.
okay but actually I'm v interested in your thoughts on Sylvie's hair. personally I've always kinda headcanoned that it was her way to separate herself from her past identity, and that part of leaving Princess Loki behind and embracing Sylvie was cutting and dying her hair to be as un-Loki as possible (like when a girl gets bangs and you just Know she's going through some shit, y'know?) but if you have another theory I would be very interested to hear it 👀
also if Mobius's grooming skills are due to his pre-character arc bureaucratic tendencies, does this mean that post-character arc Mobius (who better exist like we better get our Mobius back) will have long hair because I would simply Pass Away fhadskjldfhja

I liked WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier but I’m really nervous for Loki. I’m honestly worried that they’ll mess up his character.
I haven’t actually watched WandaVision or The Falcon & The Winter Soldier but yeah same re Loki. I certainly hope the show does him justice but it’s not a great sign that so far most of the scenes in the trailers feel wildly out of character and tonally inappropriate. I’m also concerned because despite the fact that the show isn’t even out yet, I’ve already noticed a ton of seeming plot holes just based on the trailers (I say “seeming” because it is technically possible the show might explain some of them and I want to be fair).
This has never happened to me before. Even when a movie has a lot of plot issues, you usually can’t tell just based on the trailer. I’ve never watched a trailer and been like “plot hole!” and yet that’s been happening constantly with this, which makes me feel that the writers didn’t really research the character or the world that carefully. Every clip just leaves me scratching my head over questions like:
Why is Loki's hair a different length when he is captured and brought in if this is picking up immediately after Avengers? Why is the stack of papers of everything Loki has ever said so small if he's 1500+ years old? How does Mobius know everything about him if the papers only have Loki's side of the conversation? If Mobius also watched footage of Loki's life, how did he have time to watch it all if Loki is over a thousand years old? Why is Loki being blamed for breaking the timeline but not the Avengers? If he knows everything about him why doesn't Mobius acknowledge the fact that Loki was tortured and mind controlled by Thanos? Why are Loki's speech patterns, body language, demeanor, and apparent mental state so different from how he was in Avengers and TDW even though this show takes place in the same time period? Why does Mobius say Loki has destroyed worlds when that hasn't happened? Why didn’t the TVA arrest any of the Avengers? If the TVA is a serious organization and views Loki as a threat why is Mobius’s humor in the “talky-talky” scene so childish and reminiscent of a bad comedy for middle schoolers? If he's read everything Loki ever said, why does Mobius say Loki likes to lie when the whole reason Thor trusted him in Thor 2011 was because for most of Loki’s 1000+ years of life he wasn’t habitually dishonest? And again how can Loki be accused of affecting time when he stole the space stone (not the time stone!) due to the actions of the Avengers (who DID use the time stone)!?
And why are there so many apparent inconsistencies and issues just based on the trailer?! l
#even by MCU standards that's a lot of plot holes. the head writer hasn't written for the mcu before and it feels like he didn't really#care about learning about it and just came up with a plot idea and then plugged loki into an existing character slot#without considering any of the context of the larger world or that specific character#the hair thing concerns me the most in some ways because that was something so easy to get right and yet it feels like they just forgot#say what you will about endgame but they at least made loki in the flashback scene look and feel exactly like Avengers!Loki#tv!loki feels like a totally different character#hopefully im wrong tho and based on audience feedback they will tweak the characterization and what scenes they use in the final cut#this show has so much potential and I really want it to be good#Also I don't want to hear any 'wait until it's out yet before you dare to have an opinion!' condescending remarks. nobody is saying that to#people who are excited. can u imagine being all 'why are you so excited. it's just a trailer. u don't know what the show is like. stop being#hyped!' no of course not. because that would be weird. similarly it is ok for people to feel negative emotion based on the trailer#disagreeing with me is totally fine. but sending me harassing notes in my inbox is not(already had to block some people)#everyone is welcome to their opinion as long as they can be respectful about it#and nobody will be more delighted than I if my concerns all turn out to be unfounded#asks#loki tv series#Marvel#MCU#Loki#loki tv series negativity

“Yes!” you cheered as you got in front of Peter at the last second, winning the cup in Mario Kart.
“Nooooo,” he lamented. “I was so close. Nice job though.”
“Thank you. It was a good game. You’ll win next time, Petey,” you said, ruffling his hair.
You began to set up for the next game, selecting your karts and bickering over which courses to do when Loki walked in. He looked between you two and the TV screen.
“Is everything alright, darling?” he asked, coming to sit next to you. “I heard shouting.”
“Better than alright, actually. I won,” you explained as he pulled you onto his lap, wrapping his arms around your waist and hugging you close.
“Well then, congratulations, my sweet. Might I ask what game you are playing.”
Excitedly, you and Peter explained the game. The conversation took a quick detour to be a debate about which courses and characters and karts were the best. You were pretty sure Loki was totally lost during that bit, but just nodded along as if he understood what you were talking about. Eventually, you agreed to disagree, and finished explaining the controls to the god.
“Most intriguing,” your boyfriend mused. “I do not suppose you would let me join you in playing?”
“Of course we would, Mr. Loki,” Peter grinned.
Honestly, you were a bit more hesitant to let him play. Of course you would love to spend some time playing video games with your boyfriend and best friend, but you knew how Loki could be with modern technology. Or, as he usually called it, “insolent machinery.” Not to mention how competitive he could get. Which would be totally fine, except that you’d be surprised if he didn’t lose. As long as he came in the top six, you were sure you’d be able to keep him happy.
That was if you even actually got to playing. It took him nearly fifteen minutes to pick a character to play as. He kept asking about the backstory of each of the ones he thought looked interesting. Finally, he settled on King Boo. Mischievous and a king? It was like he was made with Loki in mind. After you and Peter also selected your favorite characters, you began to set the cc of the vs race. Unfortunately, Loki noticed you made it a lower difficulty for him and demanded you play on the hardest one there was.
“Are you sure, Mr. Loki?” Peter asked. “There’s no shame in lowering it since you’re a beginner.”
“I am quite certain, spiderling,” he reaffirmed. “Darling, make it as difficult as possible.”
“If you insist,” you sighed, knowing this wouldn’t end well.
Roughly twenty minutes later, you were proven right. Loki sputtered indignantly after he came in dead last in every race, ranking at the very bottom overall in twelfth place. He angrily tossed the remote down onto the couch beside him. You rubbed calming circles on the back of his hands as his arms came to encircle you again, still sitting on his lap. He rested his chin on your shoulder, utterly annoyed.
“That is ridiculous!” he finally exclaimed. “It required absolutely no real skill. It is a horrible measure of who is a winner and a loser, if you ask me.”
“Maybe we could play again on the easier setting a few times,” Peter suggested. “Then you could get the hang of it, and you’ll win for sure.”
“No thank you,” Loki answered, unwilling to risk losing again.
“How about a different game then?” you asked, hoping to pacify the adorably pouting god.
“I would not want to disrupt you anymore. It is fine. Besides, I am certain any other of these video games would also have no skill involved beyond pressing some buttons.”
He tried to get up, but you kept him where he was, getting an idea. You looked at Peter, who’d had the same thought as you. You both sprang up and began pushing furniture aside, creating a wide open space.
“What in the Nine are you doing?” Loki asked, bewildered.
“You want a game with your so-called real, physical skill? Well, get ready because we’re playing Just Dance,” you smiled at him, putting the controller back into his hand.
Uncertain about what exactly was happening, Loki stood in front of the screen with you and the teen superhero. As it loaded, you explained the logistics of the game; just follow the moves the avatar on the screen was doing. He eyed the two of you suspiciously, but went along with it. By the time you finished the first song, which you and Peter picked, knowing Loki would’ve taken forever to decide, the god had a wide smile on his face. He kept the two of you dancing for the next hour and a half until you were sweaty and out of breath.
“Ok, I think that’s enough of that for one day,” you panted, out of breath.
“Just one more,” he pleaded with puppy dog eyes. He was looking extra cute, you thought, with his hair pulled into a messy bun. “And then we can stop. But I am on a roll, I can feel it.”
You looked to Peter, who gave a small nod, agreeing to Loki’s request. Resting for a minute, you waited for the trickster god to pick the final song. After listening to the sample, he decided on Rasputin. You let out a tiny groan, knowing this one was a lot of leg work, but still took your position in front of the TV. In the end, you were happy Loki had picked the one he did. He just looked so happy. Not to mention you quite liked the view you got seeing him do the dance and having to wiggle his butt a little. You were sure your boyfriend would be quite embarrassed if he heard those thoughts, you thought with a laugh. Even though you and Peter were collapsing to the ground at the end of it, Loki was jumping up and down, happy that he had performed well enough to earn the megastar title.
“Congratulations, Loki,” you told him from the floor. “Good job.”
He sat on the ground next to you and, bending over, gave you a kiss on the lips. “Thank you, darling. And thank you, both of you, for including me in your games.
“No problem, Mr. Loki,” Peter said. “It was a lot of fun.”
“Indeed it was. Now, do you think I could try Mario Kart again? On a lower level this time, of course.”
Happy he wanted to give it another go, Peter went to change the game cartridge. Sitting up, you squeezed Loki’s hand, glad your boyfriend wasn’t being so stubborn anymore.
“I love you,” you said, kissing him.
“And I, you,” he replied against your lips as you parted ever so slightly.
As you met in another kiss, Loki realized something important; he didn’t care what he was playing, so long as he got to spend time with you.

Here’s the list of characters I headcanon as aromantic/arospec. Yes I am aware that many of these may be me projecting but there’s not much aro rep so let me have this. Also these are just headcanons I enjoy, no stress if you don’t agree!
1. Loki
Tumblr media
For me this headcanon works for both the mcu character and the agent of Asgard character, but in different ways.
Agent of Asgard because the only sort of relationship we see him in is in the weird plot when everyone’s personality switched and he and Amora called each other “dear” one time. I could be missing something but that’s all I remember. The lack of relationships for Loki in that comic is really the only thing going into this headcanon tbh. Also meeting his (heavily aroace coded) best friend at speed dating neither of them really wanted to be at is so amazing to me.
The Marvel Loki also works with this headcanon (yes, despite him and Sylvie) because I’m sorry but never having “real” feelings for anyone for literally around 2000 years is the most aromantic thing I have ever fucking heard. Also the fact that the first person he ever fell in love with is another version of himself also does not seem very allo. So at the very least he’s on the aromatic spectrum.
2. Mabel Pines
Tumblr media
I am aware more people will probably disagree with this one but I actually have reasoning.
My favorite part of gravity falls was actually in the end credits. At one point there’s this Polaroid of a tree Mabel has evidently been carving hearts into for each relationship she’s had over the summer. All of the hearts are crossed out except one that says “MxM” . Which first of all made me cry and second of all to me says that, whether or not you headcanon her as aro, she learned to value herself over a relationship, and that she really only needs to take care of herself to be happy wich is an amazing message.
But I always read her need to find a relationship as internalized arophobia, because she realized she’d never had a real crush and felt a need to prove to herself that she could feel romantic love by rushing into a “summer romance” like ones in stories she’d read or seen on tv. Again this may be projecting because it’s similar to my experience but I recognized this with her and yeah at the end of the day it’s just a headcanon that makes me happy:)
3. Shoto Todoroki
Tumblr media
He just...gives me the vibes. Like fr his disinterest in anyone has been used as a joke numerous times. I just don’t see him needing or wanting romance as part of his life and that’s totally fine!
4. Pidge Gunderson
Tumblr media
It’s not just cuz they fit the color palette guys I swear
Fr tho they’ve always given me aroace energy even before I really knew what that was. I like to think that they and hunk eventually form a qpp when they’re a bit older.
5. Aizawa
Tumblr media
Again, the v i b e s also the absolute deadpan rejection of joke time and time again speaks to some aroace coding he definitely has in my opinion.
And there you have it! I know some of these explanations were way longer than others but I’m just inconsistent that way, sorry! Hope anyone who read this enjoyed it and lemme know if you share any of the same headcanons!!

Serious question, because it's been bugging me for awhile now: why does so much of the Marvel fandom have totally unrealistic ideas of how stories should work? I just came across some Loki show antis saying they should review-bomb season 2 (presumably because season 1 didn't cater to their very specific tastes), and I've seen people mad about everything from, say, Zemo having a motive for his villainy to fans of certain characters brawling over who's "more powerful." What gives?
Sorry, part 2 because I ran out of space: it just seems like a lot of Marvel fans think that creative decisions are made to spite them, personally, vs. being directed by a team of creatives making decisions based on a variety of factors, including what would make the most narrative sense. It's so personal in Marvel fan spaces in a way I really haven't seen anywhere else. Like, Thanos might have dumb motives but those motives don't mean the Russo brothers are literally fascists, you know?
There are probably a few things going on. One is that the type of person drawn to fandom probably going to be someone who doesn't have a lot of perspective about fandom (like how fans of a sport don't necessarily have a lot of perspective about it, or whatever. this isn't specific to fandom). it has an outsize importance in their life and becomes a huge part of their identity.
Another thing is that it feels like Loki fans in particular tend to really overidentify with Loki, to the point that any perceived attack on Loki becomes an attack on them. Whereas I watch Mobius interrogating Loki and am like, "YEAH! This scene is a cool character moment for both of these characters!" some people clearly feel attacked personally by this narrative moment.
Aaaaand. Okay. This is going to sound mean, but I don't know how else to put it. Lack of critical thinking skills and an inability to deconstruct a narrative. You know those posts that are like "waaaah why did I have to read those boring classics in school when I just wanted to read Twilight??!" (or whatever) Those people are in your fandom and unable to approach a piece of fiction as anything other than something meant to entertain them, specifically, and to cater to their tastes. They don't know how to deconstruct anything. They don't know how to look at a narrative and see the building blocks that go into it. They don't know how to dissect a character arc. It's a skill, just like any other, and I imagine it's been taught very badly to some people—and even if it wasn't taught badly, since it's a skill, you have to use it or lose it. You can see the widespread effect of this in society at large, not just in fandom.
I don't think that a lot of people understand that movies and tv shows are made by a team of creatives. I don't think they realize there's a writer's room, with multiple writers. Obviously every production is going to be different, and full disclosure I have zero background in the industry, but I would think it's very common for a thing to undergo changes constantly, as the writers, director, and actors work on it. Then there's post production, and editing, and test audiences, and re-shoots. And it feels pretty safe to assume that all the people involved in a movie or show are not motivated by a desire to spite a certain small segment of the audience.
Look—there are things I didn't like about the Loki series, and I have specific reasons that I don't like them, which I can articulate. Same with WandaVision, Falcon, and Hawkeye. Same with Eternals, and Spiderman No Way Home. But I don't view any of the story decisions made in them as a personal attack on me, because that's...insane? I also can generally draw a distinction between "I personally didn't like this" and "this is objectively bad."
And obviously most things fall in between those two poles...which is why I don't have a lot of patience for people who speak in absolutes when it comes to media.
I will say that I was hanging out in a non-Marvel server today and I noted some of the same behavior, though not nearly to the same extent. This kind of thing was in large part responsible for me leaving the WIR fandom, too. So it's not just the MCU by any means.
Anyway I could probably go on and on and on but I'm going to cut myself off there haha.

*insert Mushu “I live” gif*
Ok, so I finally watched Loki and I loved it. Loki and Quicksilver are my fav characters and I was really, really mad at Marvel for what they did to my boy Quickie, but I’m still holding out hope that they somehow fix that at some point. I mean, hello, variants? That thing officially exists now.
Luckily Loki seems to be more favored by Feige/Marvel and seems like we’re gonna see lots more of him. Season 2 and possibly even MoM. Season 2 is old news as there were already reports of it actually happening last year, and this year in January Deadline confirmed S2 of Loki with Michael Waldron returning. But I was holding out hope for Loki making an appearance in MoM (I want to see Strange interact with Loki again) and it seems like there’s a good chance of this actually happening.
Anyway, some thoughts about the show:
- I loved the show’s cinematography. It didn’t feel like a tv show at all
- Soundtrack is just *chefs kiss*
- TVA Loki my beloved. I honestly think TVA Loki might be my favorite version of Tom’s Loki so far. This show finally gave us the opportunity to really delve deeper into Loki, who he is as a person, how does he form relationships with people outside his family. It was just so fun to see different sides of him, like making a friend, falling in love? I never thought I’d ever see that. Especially not after IW
- Really liked his reaction to watching his ‘greatest hits’ and realizing his family actually loved him. Loki was always kind of a softie who genuinely cared about his family and seeing his parents’ (and his own) deaths was so emotional
- Infinity Stones being used as paperweights for the TVA will never not be funny. It broke my mind and sent me into existential crisis just as it did with Loki.
- Loki needs to give Casey a fish at some point. Or take him to an aquarium.
- Mobius needs his jet ski in season 2. I also want to know more about Mobius and his backstory. What was his Nexus event, does he have a family, what is his real name?
- I really liked his friendship with Loki and the fact that he’s canonically Loki’s first real friend. Loki needed a friend (the W3 and Sif were never really his friends, Loki just tagged along I guess) and I’m happy he finally has one
- I need to find out more about B-15, who she was, her real name...Wunmi absolutely killed it during “I looked happy.” scene. God, that bit broke me
- Ravonna was sus to me from the start and she’s also one of the characters I want them to explore more. Especially now since Kang and his variants are also involved.
- Sylvie is probably my favorite new character introduced. I knew Sophia’s gonna play Sylvie and she’s gonna have a large role, but damn I didn’t expect to love this character as much as I do. There’s so much more left of her to be explored and I think her arc in season 2 will be amazing
- I saw that Loki/Sylvie romance coming the moment Lamentis episode ended. There were so many hints in that episode, I’m actually surprised so many people viewed them as having a sibling type of dynamic.
- I know that their love story is not a typical straightforward romance, but also serves as a metaphor for self love, but I found the idea of Loki falling in love with someone who is an au version of him, but also isn’t him both interesting and hilarious. Also, it was adorable especially that blanket scene in the void. There’s just something adorable about Loki being a complete softie for someone else. You know what, I’m rooting for them. I hope they get their happy ending, they deserve it.
- Literally every character in this show deserves their happy ending. Like, just the idea of the variants not knowing who they are, being brainwashed and forced to work for this organisation...*happy endings for everyone please*
- Majors’ variant of Kang, aka He Who Remains was everything and is right behind Sylvie as my new favorite character. The guy absolutely killed it and I need more of him and his (many) characters/variants right now. Plus I would’t mind if we see this particular version of He Who Remains again.
- The way they made Loki come out as bi was also so well done and I’m so happy they acknowledged that. Disney is notoriously bad with LGBT+ representation so the fact that the creators of the show managed to put that in was everything. I heard the director was fighting real hard for that to be made canon and I appreciate her effort.
- We were shown more of Loki’s abilities. It was about damn time.
- Alligator Loki is the baby Yoda of the marvel verse. I loved the theory that there’s an universe in which Alligator Loki was adopted by Crocodile Odin.
- Classic Loki.....Richard E Grant stole that episode. God, I wouldn’t mind an episode that focuses strictly on Classic Loki, he was just such a great character and he broke my heart
- I wonder if Kid Loki will travel to the main timeline and join the Young Avengers at some point
- THROG
- I really liked how they established that variants are basically their own people. Their own beings, they each have their own backstories, autonomy, clear differences that make them THEM. They aren’t copies, they’re individuals. And that they aren’t genetically related, but that they share the same soul and role in their universes (basically temporal aura) because that will also clear up some confusion with upcoming multiverse movies, for example Spiderman
- I suppose Loki confirms that all Peter Parkers in NWH are basically variants of Peter Parker, but just like Lokis, they aren’t the same, which explains why they all look different and why they also have different aunts and families. It’s not DNA that makes someone a variant of a certain being, it’s a soul. A role.
- I really hope that that one rumour of various Stephens in MoM actually turns out to be true.
- Strange is gonna kill Loki and Sylvie
- Which brings me to the last take:
- Ralph is totally Peter. I am clowning yes, but lemme have this.
Overall, I really liked the show. I loved it in fact. It was really character driven and didn’t focus much on action, which is a plus for me, because I rather watch characters talk and interact with each other than action sequences.
The bad thing is that now I’l have to wait at least 2 years to see what happens next. And I’m curious if there’ll be a bit of a time jump between both seasons.

[For you who decide to start ranting in the notes without reading: it's officially canon.]
TLDR:
Even more so than Loki just realizing he is capable of loving someone other than himself, Loki is finally willing to accept himself and all his flaws. “I don't think Loki's relationship with himself has been very healthy,” Tom Hiddleston explains. “Trying to accept those aspects of himself, which he's been on the run from, was a way of thinking about that in a really interesting way. Also, Sylvie's not Loki. Sylvie is Sylvie. That's interesting, too. I'm really excited to see what people make of it.”
“Two variants of the same being, especially you, forming this kind of sick twisted romantic relationship? That’s pure chaos! That could break reality. It’s breaking my reality right now! What an incredible seismic narcissist! You fell for yourself!”
That’s what Mobius practically yells at Loki in the latest episode of Marvel Studios’ Loki. In trying to get to the bottom of what caused the Nexus Event on Lamentis-1, Mobius starts asking questions and prodding the God of Mischief in just the right way to get a confession out of him, without Loki actually confessing to anything. After putting the pieces together from Loki’s context cues, Mobius arrives at the only logical conclusion: Loki’s fallen for the other Variant, aka Sylvie. “You like her! Does she like you?” teases Mobius.“
That was one of the cruxes of my pitch [for the series], that there was going to be a love story,” head writer Michael Waldron explains to Marvel.com. “We went back and forth for a little bit about, like do we really want to have this guy fall in love with another version of himself? Is that too crazy? But in a series that, to me, is ultimately about self-love, self-reflection, and forgiving yourself, it just felt right that that would be Loki's first real love story.”
Loki and Sylvie’s love story has an apocalyptic beginning since that’s where the two first begin to bond. Trapped on a moon on the verge of total destruction, the two are forced to work together to find a way out of this situation, only to have it completely fail before their eyes. Feeling defeated, Sylvie wonders if Lokis are always destined to lose?
Loki reassures her that while they might lose, they don’t die — they survive. He goes on to call Sylvie “amazing” for how she almost took down the TVA on her own, and it’s clear from the look on his face that even though they’ve only been together a short while, Loki’s already come to admire and respect her. As the moon literally crumbles around them, Sylvie places a hand on Loki’s arm, and that’s when it happens: A branch on the Sacred Timeline. These two Lokis are having a moment they were never supposed to have, which as Mobius puts it, is “pure chaos.”
“The look that they share, that moment, [it started as] a blossoming friendship,” continues Waldron. “Then for the first time, they both feel that twinge of, ‘Oh, could this be something more? What is this I'm feeling?’ These are two beings of pure chaos that are the same person falling in love with one another. That's a straight-up and down branch, and exactly the sort of thing that would terrify the TVA.”
Thankfully this branch also leads to the two variants being located on Lamentis-1; unfortunately, their rescue leads to them immediately thrown into captivity at the TVA.
But what happened on Lamentis-1 clearly affects both of them in different ways, with Loki slowly coming to grips with the fact that he does have feelings for Sylvie — even though she’s “difficult, irritating, and tries to hit [him] all the time.”
This is only made more pronounced after Loki finds himself trapped in a time loop with Lady Sif back on Asgard shortly following his past-self committing a cruel prank and cutting off her hair. Sif not only beats him up (and rightfully so), but tells him many times, “You deserve to be alone and you always will be.” For the first time, Loki realizes he doesn’t want to be alone, and that there might be someone out there for him, who he can connect with on another level.
As Mobius notes, it might just be a case of extreme narcissism, but it also makes complete sense for the character.
“Who’s a better match for Loki than himself?” director Kate Herron chimes in. “The whole show is about identity. It's about him, and he is on a very different path, and he is on a different journey. He sees things in Sylvie that he is like, ‘Oh, I've been there. I know what you feel.’ But she's like, ‘Well, I don't feel that way.’ And I think that was the kind of fun thing about it. She is him, but she's not him. They've had such different life experiences. So just from an identity perspective, it was interesting to dig into that.”
“When Loki meets Sylvie, he's inspired solely by curiosity,” reveals Hiddleston. “He wants to talk to her and understand her and try to discern what was similar about their experiences, and what was different. He keeps asking her questions because he wants to see if his experience was also her experience. I think he realizes, and she realizes, that while they're the same, they're not the same.”
Herron was careful setting up this relationship. “It was just about giving it the space to breathe and digging into it in a way that felt earned,” she explains.
Considering partnerships are 50/50, credit has to be paid to Sophia Di Martino, taking on the role of Sylvie and becoming someone who can match Loki’s own energy and chaos.
"I think something that Sophia captured really beautifully is that she’s in a different space,” continues Herron. “She's almost where Loki was in Thor in some ways where she's dealing with a lot of pain. For different reasons, obviously. It was really interesting having her in a different headspace of a different Loki.”
When production was shut down at the start of the pandemic, Herron kept working, putting together what had already been filmed. She realized that “there were tonally some things that were coming to the surface” between Loki and Sylvie that she could explore deeper.
“As we were cutting it together in the studio, everyone was, ‘Oh, this [relationship] is really cool. Let's dig into that more,’" shares Herron. “When we went back to filming, we added or tweaked scripts basically to [emphasize it].”

A Little LOKI Theory Post
*SPOILERS FOR LOKI E1-3 BELOW CUT*
I am loathe to admit that I love the new LOKI TV series, mainly because of the Mobius/Loki dynamic, the interesting sci-fi plot, and just... I so far surprisingly like every episode. This was the show I had such low expectations for, because I didn’t really like LOKI – I felt he was the Moriarty of the MCU, overused when they didn’t need him, and making me annoyed by an actor I love.
EXCEPT I’m also a sucker for character-driven, psychoanalysis stories, like all these D+ Marvel shows are, and it’s leaving me super shocked about me liking characters I didn’t before. I’m fully invested in all these characters now.
I think the only reasom I really wanted to see this show for was because it ties directly into the next Dr. Strange movie, so YEAH, I’m in love multiverse and time travel things, so it was inevitable that I would enjoy this show, I think.
AND of course, I’ve theories and speculations because there’s a lot to work with, and I LOVE stories like these, so I decided I would take some time out and stretch out my meta-writing grey cells. And I wanted somewhere to have my theories/ideas written out before they come to fruition, because DAMNIT I have headcanons and hopes and dreams.
So here we go, spoilers below cut. Please note I know nothing about the comics aside from what other theorists and reviewers have mentioned:
The TVA are “the bad guys” but I think it goes deeper than that... Like the whole Timekeeper thing is really sus. I think it’s only one Timekeeper, who is Kang the Conqueror, who maintains the Sacred Timeline to ensure that he stays in power to PREVENT the Multiverse War which I think he knows happened to stop him. I also think Renslayer is behind all of this suspicious thing; I learned that in the comics Renslayer is a love interest for Kang, so like........... SUS.
AND I think Multiverse War they talked about in the beginning of the show IS the Multiverse War they’re ABOUT TO HAVE. This is a show about non-linear time, and there’s hints about multiverses in the next Spiderman, and Dr Strange is LITERALLY called “Multiverse of Madness”. Wild Theory: Maybe Doctor Strange IS one of the Time Keepers following the Multiverse War.
Loki initially wants to learn the enchanting that Sylvie does for his own selfish gain, and I think he was lying about breaking the TempPad so he would force her to open up. HOWEVER, I think he had a sudden change of heart after learning about the TVA’s Variant Staff; we already see him sort of fond of both Mobius and remembers Casey’s name, so I feel like that he will end up using this knowledge he gained very differently.
Further on this point, they established in Ep 3 that TVA agents / staff need actual real memories to “manipulate” them. So, I think Loki will use this power he learned from Sylvie (I mean, she explained to him how to do it, and this show is really good at using the “Chekov’s guns” given to us) to bring Mobius to “his side”, and TOGETHER they take down the TVA and make it what it should be. Mobius is very dedicated to the TVA, so I really do forsee that it will be Loki “freeing” Mobius as the catalyst to swaying to siding with Loki until the end. He’s a good man with a big heart for humanity, so I think he will totally side with freeing everyone else.
On that note, I think the reason Mobius is fascinated with the nineties is because he’s a variant jetskiier pulled from the nineties. I suspect in his original timeline he probably had a jetski accident and died, but in the Variant timeline, he survived, and out of pity I think Renslayer “saved” him and recruited him. The TVA wiped his memories after he couldn’t cope with the fact that he was SUPPOSED to die.
ALSO still on Mobius, I think every time he keeps questioning too much, he gets his memory wiped, which would explain why he never remembers leaving the cup stains on Renslayer’s table.
I think there’s more to Miss Minutes than meets the eye. Another theory I had was that she was similar to VIKI in iRobot, essentially running the company to her programmed “laws” after the TimeKeepers passed on. So like there’s no TimeKeepers at all, but there was at one time, and Miss Minutes was left to her own devices.
Another theory similar to this, is the Doctor Who episode, The Long Game, where everyone wants to be promoted to “Floor 500″ because it’s rumoured to be a paradise and is the top floor no one has ever returned from; It turns out it’s run by an alien that feeds on the human or something similar, and the people who went to the top floor ended up frozen husks of who they were. Not saying it’s this exact thing, but more the idea that everyone thinks what’s upstairs is a magical wonderful benevolent corporation looking out for what’s best for everyone, but instead it’s one evil thing doing stuff for their own purpose. Eh.
Another rogue theory: Mobius IS a Loki variant, which is why he’s obsessed with Loki himself, knows Loki better than Loki knows himself, and either knows and omitted it, or DOESN’T know but naturally is intrigued by the Loki Variant and him always finding out the truth is WHY his memory keeps getting wiped, and why everyone is always squeamish about having a Loki around. Mobius mentioned that Loki is the one Variant they have stopped more Lokis than any other Variant....
On that thought: IF Lokis are the most common Variant they capture, I think a LOT of the TVA are Loki Variants, trapped in the forms they were presenting as when they were brought in, and because magic doesn’t work in the TVA, they CAN’T turn off the glamour, had their memories wiped, and in turn could now be Codenamed Casey, or Mobius, or B15........ An abstract theory, but I think it’s interesting.
And another, since I learned that it is in the comics: Mobius is a clone drone. This one saddens me and I really hope he’s not. Because I love Mobius.
I think Sylvie was a Variant who worked for the TVA, but somehow had an awakening and wants to free everyone else... the only thing against this theory is her seeming surprised that her magic stopped working when she arrived at the TVA. If she was an agent, she would know that magic doesn’t work within the TVA.
And I think this series will inevitably – if the rumours of a Season 2 are true – have the Mobius / Loki dynamic solving Time Crimes... a.... Holmes and Watson if you will. :D HAHHA.
So yeah. This list will change obviously for the next 3 weeks, and I had a lot of fun with this so I will probably keep it up.
Some things I hope happen by the end:
A giant “probably not going to happen because this is Disney”: I hope they pay-off the “bisexual” confirmation by the end of this... highkey with Mobius (damn it I ship them okay), but lowkey just even a passing remark about anyone LOL. I really ship Lokius, okay. I need this dynamic in the MCU
PLEASE DON’T KILL CASEY, we love Casey. #FREECASEY
I’ll be really honest here, I will effing GROAN and be a not-happy Steph if they do the ship that I think they’re gonna do: Sylvie x Loki. Which is weird to me that Disney would be okay with self-love, but the OBVIOUS initial dynamic of Loki x Mobius is too much, “look we gave you bisexual Loki, aren’t you happy enough??” Just. I dunno. It’s weird / a pet peeve of mine that a lot of online reviewers are bitching about “woke” Disney the one time they ACTUALLY FINALLY let a title character say they’re queer, but are all “UWU SYLVIE AND LOKI ARE GONNA GET TOGETHER BECAUSE LOKI LOVES HIMSELF UWU”. Even though Loki spent legit more screen time with Mobius, and literally did everything he told Sylvie that he wouldn’t do around people he doesn’t trust around Mobius ALREADY?? It’s like they already forgot about the first two eps. LEGIT the whole dagger=love metaphor LITERALLY happened in the previous two episodes, but alright chiefs. Anyway. Sorry, it’s stupid to be bothered by it.
We’re gonna get that heart wrench moment that the other two shows had, and I TRULY BELIEVE it’s gonna be between Loki and Mobius when Loki tells / shows Mobius the truth. LOOK I JUST WANT MORE OF THEM OKAY. And I need my heart ripping moment in this show within the next two eps LOL. We got one in WandaVision. We got one in FATWS. GIVE ME ONE IN LOKI. MAKE ME LIKE LOKI.
Anyway, so that’s my rambling. Thanks for taking time out to read all this. I miss theorizing, and this show is perfect for me to do it. I’m not AS good at these shows as I was with Sherlock, but it’s still fun, because it’s new and my brain is full of headcanons and idea things. I’ll write again after Ep 4, I think. <3 Thank you lovelies for letting me do this!

ok your Halloween party episode tags has got me hyped up what do you think everyone’s costumes would be !!
Oooooh this is such a fun question!! But yes, it was a missed opportunity to not have a true Halloween episode..like in Blame It on the Alcohol, we deserved a big dumb New Directions Halloween party at Rachel’s! Now I’ll be honest, these answers are a mix of what I could see the glee kids actually wearing but some are definitely just wishful thinking on my part..(also some of these don’t fit time wise as in they didn’t exist when glee was airing but let’s ignore that!!)
-Quinn: I could see her being a big Game of Thrones fan and she would totally rock a Daenerys costume & look so gorgeous! Another option I’m feeling is Spinelli from the tv show Recess, especially skank Quinn (I’m gonna headcanon this as being a show she enjoyed watching as a child!)
-Brittana: I would love to see them dressed up as Catradora from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power!! Brittany would be Adora/She-Ra & Santana would be Catra. Their personalities & height difference fit so well for that! Another couples costume is Brittany as Harley Quinn & Santana as Poison Ivy😍
-Mercedes: I have no actual reasoning for this (other than I think she would look ridiculously hot) but I wanna see her dressed up as Maleficent! The other option I can think of for her is a very glamorous + classy angel. The only true criteria I have for Mercedes is that whatever costume she wears would be classified as stunning!✨
-Rachel: She would 100% be dressed as Fanny from Funny Girl.. and take it way too seriously and go full method.. until everyone else tells her to stop being a buzzkill and convince her that the only way that will happen is if she changes into a different costume. Some of the other girls go through her closet and are able to put together a look that resembles Minnie Mouse in a very impressive yet scary manner!
-Tike: I can see Tina & Mike wanting to go for pretty theatrical + creative costumes (something Tina could design!). I picture them going for characters from media they enjoy watching together so examples being something like Jack & Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas or Morticia & Gomez from The Addams Family! They would go the full nine yards with the costumes, makeup, & some role playing but clearly not take things too far like Rachel did (aka they are basically the most fun people there)!
-Klaine: Obviously canon gave us them as Snooki & The Situation from Jersey Shore! So if we wanna stay within that type of lane, I can totally picture them being ridiculous and going for Tiger King costumes or even Paris & Nicole from The Simple Life! I can also see something happening like Kurt losing a bet which allows Blaine to pick their costume theme. Blaine would choose something like superheroes and would go for a hero like Batman whereas Kurt being forced to choose would probably be drawn to someone like Loki (mainly for the drama he brings & cool costume - which being the Kurtcedes lover that I am would love to see them both rock costumes with horns👌)!
-Artie: Many months before Halloween..Artie, Sam, Puck & Finn were hanging out and watching Ghostbusters which got them to agree to a plan of wearing group costumes. Artie went full out and even made his own very elaborate proton pack. Of course when he shows up to the party, he is the only one out of the four to be wearing the agreed upon group costume.
-Sam: Obviously he forgot about the Ghostbusters costume.. so naturally he shows up to the party in super realistic blue face & full body paint resembling that of a creature from Avatar. Unfortunately, he didn’t set the paint properly (or make the smarter decision of wearing a blue bodysuit instead of paint) so anywhere he sits or leans against he ends up getting blue paint all over the surface.. by the end of the night most of the paint is no longer on his body...
-Puck: Days before the party, Puck & Finn decide to buy a two person horse costume because they find it absolutely hilarious (& again, they both forgot about the Ghostbusters group costume).
-Finn: Not only did Finn forget about the group Ghostbusters costume but he was also able to somehow misplace his half of the horse costume so he had to scramble to come up with something to wear. He shows up in a white fitted sheet that has jagged cut outs for his eyes, nose, mouth, & arms. It is BY FAR the worst costume of anyone there & that’s saying a lot since Puck is stuck just being half of a horse (the back end at that)!
~Even though Artie was a bit let down that no one else remembered the group costume, being able to pretend to capture Finn while everyone else roasts Finn about how awful his ghost costume is really makes up for his three friends being complete idiots!<33

I’m sorry in advance if this is messy and lengthy and makes no sense at all, but I’m feeling kinda frustrated and like I need to rant a little, maybe feel a little less alone about this and I know this is a safe space to do so lol.
With the whole Tim Drake thing, I’ve seen people throwing around various labels/headcanons for him, since in the comics he’s still unlabeled. I’m pan and I’ve always liked the idea of a pan Robin (didn’t even matter which lol), and of course I’ve been a fan of people putting pansexual as a potential label. And tbh I’ve actually seen a good amount of people being fair and kind when it comes to differing opinions, which I wasn’t expecting at all, especially when the majority defaulted him to bi as soon as that issue got released. Most of the drama/queerphobic remarks were made the day it came out and shortly after, and since then, from what I’ve seen, it’s mostly been people just sharing their personal thoughts. Which is of course great!!
But I’m still a little… frustrated. Because while people seem to be pretty open to multiple possible labels, as well as him staying unlabeled, I have still seen some people discussing how it doesn’t matter in the end. And while I do agree with that in a sense, it also frustrates me a little bit because most of the people saying this are bi, and honestly… the chances of him being given the bi label is extremely high. Definitely higher than the other possibilities. So, it’s almost like… of course it doesn’t matter, when you know you have a high shot of it representing you, ya know? I’ve also seen people say that it doesn’t matter because whichever label he’s given won’t erase/invalidate other labels, which I also agree with to an extent… but as a pan person, who rarely sees pan rep celebrated by the masses like this, and who witnessed all of the drama and panphobia with tv!loki’s ambiguous coming out, and who is constantly having other ambiguously mspec rep taken away from me or having canon pan rep questioned or mislabeled… it’s frustrating to see people act like, if he’s given the bi label, it won’t momentarily validate panphobes, and make some of us pan folks feel sad and like we DID get erased. Same goes for ply folks, omni folks, queer folks, etc.
Like, whichever label they do decide to go with, if any at all, I’m going to be happy about it. Because to have a character like Tim, a massively popular superhero who is already young and relatable to a lot of fans, being canonically queer IS incredible, regardless of what they choose call him. But. At the same time, I just find it frustrating that those with the highest chance of having explicitly canon rep in him (as in, he’s given a specific label by the writers or he says it himself) are trying to tell the rest of us that it “doesn’t matter”. In a way, I agree it doesn’t, and I’ll support almost any and all queer rep, as long as the characters aren’t horrible monsters or something. But idk, I also feel like… for some of us, who want to feel seen and validated and have a character we love share the same identity as us, it does matter a little. And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that, or with being disappointed if it ends up the way most of us are expecting it to, and if we do feel a little sad. This idea that it “doesn’t matter” just isn’t as simple and black and white as people try to make it seem.
yeah i totally get where you’re coming from. i agree with the general idea that any queer rep is a win for all of us, because it promotes and encourages and leads to more queer rep.
but i don’t agree with the idea that it “doesn’t matter” what label an unlabeled queer or specifically unlabeled mspec character is eventually given. that comes pretty close to claiming all mspec rep represents all mspec people, that we all share rep and the specific mspec labels used are inconsequential.
but it is important. it’s not only important to the specific mspec people being represented and finally seeing their identity in media, but it’s important for greater visibility and understanding of mspec identities.
if you think there isn’t a lot of pan rep, there’s even less omni and ply rep. i personally know of hundreds of pan characters (vast majority being book characters), but only eight omni characters and two ply characters. (and over half of those ten combined characters have also been labeled as other mspec labels.)
so if tim drake were to be labeled omni or ply, for example, that would matter a lot to omni or ply people, in a way it wouldn’t if he were labeled something else. and that’s not to say they wouldn’t care about or support him being a different mspec label, just that it wouldn’t have the same personal impact for them. which also isn’t to say that one mspec rep is more important than another, just that the labels used does matter to people. it always has.
hell, even to be able to interpret him as omni or ply due to him not being labeled yet matters, which is why it’s so harmful and frustrating for people to consider bi the default mspec label that’s automatically canonically given to all mspec characters, and when people described unlabeled mspec characters as “bi/pan”, as if those are the only two mspec identities.
like you said anon, having the most visible and represented of mspec people, who are most likely to be represented in a situation like this, say it doesn’t matter what label ends up being used feels very dismissive of the importance of representation and the reality of mspec representation. it does matter to a lot of us, because a lot of us aren’t often represented at all, let alone in a character like this.
to erase the importance of representation and the difference in visibility and representation among mspec people, is just shitty and quite frankly, mspecphobic. we aren’t all the same with the same (amount of) representation, so yeah, what label used does matter.
(there’s also something to be said about our immediate insistence on labeling unlabeled characters and going back and forth over what label they are or should be or we hope they are, when them being and staying unlabeled is just as valid and important representation. btw: this isn’t @ you anon, just a general thought that i’m also including myself in.)
