Marco, parlaci un po' di te Sono un pittore autodidatta, ho studiato per conto mio, ma ho comunque studiato e pure tanto! Ho iniziato a disegnare 28 anni fa circa e lavoro come artista da circa 25 anni. Con la grafite e le matite colorate, poi pastelli, china e tecniche miste. Mi dicevi di aver studiato molto

Ho perfezionato il disegno, con tantissimo disegno dal vivo, esercitandomi per rafforzare la mia capacità di osservazione, attento alla corretta riproduzione dei modelli. Mi sono preparato attingendo da molti manuali diversi di disegno anatomico, di prospettiva, chiaro scuro. Tra tutti i manuali che hai avuto tra le mani, quali consiglieresti perché li hai trovati più utili? I manuali di Burne Hogarth sul corpo umano e il corpo umano in movimento, anche quello sulla costruzione di luci e ombre, sono semplici, ma molto utili, i manuali della Ulisse edizioni, sempre sul corpo umano, Pastelli, acquerello etc. sicuramente interessante da leggere anche il libro di Betty Edwards "Disegnare con la parte destra del cervello", poi ci sono i classici di pittura come il "Manuale pratico di tecnica pittorica" del Piva Io non ho mai lavorato ad olio, ma ho diversi libri per avere un minimo di conoscenze anche sulla pittura ad olio ... Poi all'epoca di internet si può accedere facilmente a tanti manuali on line e tutorial che danno la possibilità di imparare e capire più velocemente certe tecniche. Torniamo al tuo lavoro, dopo la matita?

Circa venticinque anni fa ho iniziato a lavorare ad acquerello, mentre una decina di anni fa ho affrontato la pittura con l'acrilico. Ho letto e seguito molti manuali di pittura, ma non ho mai lasciato che quello che leggevo e studiavo, mi condizionasse tanto da inibire la mia ricerca personale ne la sperimentazione di nuovi metodi per ottenere i risultati che volevo ottenere nelle mie opere. Alla fine non esiste libro o manuale che possa spiegare o insegni la mia tecnica di pittura, che non è che il risultato delle esperienze fatte in studio, grazie al lavoro con diverse tecniche, sperimentando procedimenti originali. Questo comporta che, in ogni nuovo lavoro, il mio approccio mentale è diverso rispetto a ciò che ho fatto in precedenza. Come nascono i tuoi lavori?

Parto da un idea da sviluppare e costruisco mentalmente i passaggi necessari, così si crea un processo che mi permette di trovare le soluzioni tecniche per ottenere gli effetti voluti, grazie al progetto del percorso diretto, senza che si frappongano fasi che inibiscano o disturbino i passaggi successivi. Il risultato di questo lavorio mentale individua il processo più semplice e veloce da realizzare. Già prima di iniziare ho chiaro in testa tutto il processo e il quadro è completo dalla prima all'ultima pennellata.

Volevo fare una piccola presentazione prima di spiegare il procedimento adottato per realizzare questa opera.

Summer in Cham: il racconto di un'opera

Ho utilizzato una tela di lino preparata per acrilico, colori acrilici della Liquitex e come medium, solo dell'acqua. Il modello usato è una fotografia scattata da me, l'inquadratura è presa da una barca sul lago di Zugo in Svizzera. All'inizio, non ho realizzato un disegno accurato e definito, ho preferito creare direttamente zone campite con i colori principali di sfondo degli elementi della composizione. Dopo aver diviso la tela in tre zone di colore, ho tracciato - con una matita HB - i punti e le linee principali della casetta e di qualche altro particolare utile come punto di riferimento per lo sviluppo della composizione. Da li in poi ho sviluppato l'intero quadro dipingendo direttamente i dettagli senza che fossero stati disegnati in precedenza. Dove erano necessari più passaggi, come ad esempio sulla casa, sull'acqua e su alcuni cespugli, ho lavorato con velature progressivamente sempre più definite. Le foglie dell'albero più grande, in alto a destra, sono dipinte una ad una per gestire in modo dettagliato e preciso i valori di ombra e luce, esattamente come apparivano nella foto. Questo passaggio è molto importante: per niente superfluo, per il mio modo di dipingere è l'unico modo per ottenere un effetto naturale e coerente con la direzione della luce naturale del sole e le rispettive ombre. Per questa via ho potuto dare volume alla chioma dell'albero e profondità al quadro. Ho continuato così, un pezzo dopo l'altro, portando tutto ad una finitura abbastanza precisa. Questo modo di procedere è un po' pericoloso perché rende difficile gestire l'armonia complessiva del quadro, ma avendo un'esperienza adeguata, è un modo consueto adottato da molti pittori iperrealisti per gestire opere che hanno una struttura molto complessa e necessitano di una definizione molto realistica, Per ottenere un insieme omogeneo ed armonico, bisogna calcolare con precisione ogni colore che viene steso, già a partire dagli sfondi. Bisogna riuscire a ragionare in termini di chiaro scuro e di rifrazione della luce sulle superfici: un procedimento che con l'acrilico richiede molta pratica a causa della caratteristica di questo mezzo di cambiare tono e valore di chiaroscuro quando asciugano. Alla fine ho proceduto a una messa a punto, bilanciando ombre e luci di tutto l'insieme del quadro completato in ogni sua parte, per dare armonia alla composizione nel suo insieme. Non ho trattato il quadro con vernice acrilica finale, perché sarebbe stato collocato in una casa privata, quindi in ambiente protetto da luci dirette o umido. Ritengo che meno passaggi e spessore ci siano su una tela, migliore sia la capacità dell'opera di mantenere elasticità nel film pittorico. Ma soprattutto,per la mia esperienza riguardo alla pittura acrilica, sarà più facile intervenire in eventuali interventi di restauro. Read the full article

L’imputato Bernardo Lupo, mani mestamente abbandonate senza forza sul grembo e sguardo contrito e basso, ammette di aver commesso il delitto. Ma l’avvocato difensore Bulldog, carnivoro dal brillante curriculum e dal portamento ieratico, chiede le circostanze attenuanti.

Bene, le circostante attenuanti; vale a dire sì, l’ha mangiato ma non era nelle sue intenzioni farlo… esse possono far leva sulla madre dell’accusato, La signora Susanna Lupo, ma solleverebbero dall’angoscia gli astanti erbivori, atterriti dal solo immaginare il fattaccio? E cosa ne pensa l’avvocato dell’accusa, esimio De Capris?

Come in ogni processo che si rispetti l’aula del Tribunale incute timore reverenziale ed è arredata di tutto punto con protagonisti perfetti per l’occasione: il perito, un asino dalla giacchetta a quadri, ha l’aspetto dimesso e ordinario del perito come da immaginario da telefilm statunitense, e i due tutori dell’ordine, come nel migliore dei polizieschi, ben assortiti, attento e vigile uno, annoiato e indifferente l’altro.

Il giudice, un maiale dai toni perentori e martelletto in mano, si contrappone al suo simile selvatico, Sasha Cinghiale, che, probabilmente forte delle sue zanne suine, non si fa remore nel puntualizzare, mancando l’obiettivo di difendere il vicino di casa Lupo e irritando il Signor Giudice. Si susseguono i testimoni, sebbene alcuni rigettati dalla corte (come si potrebbe prendere sul serio la testimonianza oculare di una talpa?), e come in ogni processo che si rispetti, considerato quanto siano intasate le aule dei tribunali, il verdetto viene emesso senza troppo tergiversare.

Questo albo illustrato, passato un po’ in sordina tra gli scaffali delle librerie, merita più di una lettura e restituisce al lettore una generosità di contenuti divertenti, ironici, realistici e iperrealistici che, assieme alle illustrazioni ad inchiostro e acquerello affrontano senza molti fronzoli la questione spinosa del confine tra la legittimità delle azioni compiute per istinto (argomento che regge però se i responsabili sono lupi o volpi) e la capacità, tutta umana, di soppesare con coscienza le conseguenze delle proprie azioni e la ricaduta che quest’ultime potrebbero avere sull’esistenza altrui. Attutita dalle sembianze animali, la Giustizia e il suo corso appaiono molto più comprensibili di quanto esse effettivamente siano e i punti di vista, così ben espressi sia dal testo, puntuale e diretto, che dalle illustrazioni, sollevano più di un dubbio in diverse direzioni.
