Organizing the Tuscaloosa facility would be a major boost to the UAW’s plans to unionize Southern autoworkers.
More than half of the employees at Mercedes-Benz’s manufacturing plant near Tuscaloosa, Alabama, have signed union cards and intend to join the United Auto Workers, the union announced Tuesday.
Hitting a majority of sign-ups marks a milestone for the UAW as it seeks to represent workers at foreign-owned auto plants in the South. The union has struggled to organize such facilities for years but has seen a surge of interest from workers following its historic strike against Ford, General Motors and Jeep parent company Stellantis last year.
Jeremy Kimbrell, a 25-year employee at the plant and lead organizer for the union effort, said in a video posted Monday that workers “are ready to win our union and a better life with the UAW.”

On March 13th, 2023, the Moon Winx Lodge of Tuscaloosa, Alabama was shut down for code violations. City Council President Kip Tyner stated, "Operating without a license, roach and rodent infestation, alleged prostitution. It was deplorable. This is an opportunity we have right now to shut down a dredge that’s been in our community for so long. What happened needed to happen.”
The motel dated back to the 1920s. Its iconic sign had been on the property for over 60 years. Two weeks after the motel closed, the sign was sold. Source

I wanted to play more in photoshop. I used to make all sorts of stuff when I was on LiveJournal years ago...icons, banners, etc. Always getting screencaps/stills from episodes of things. I had to go find them for TWD. This is caps from 4.10 Inmates...I noticed these scenes they both were looking at each other while the other was looking away. I had to capture it in this.
Inspired from a question recently asked on the Bethyl discord channel about songs we associate with Bethyl.

6:46 AM EDT April 2, 2024:
Neil Young & Stray Gators - "Out On The Weekend (Live)" From the album Tuscaloosa (June 7, 2019)
Last song scrobbled from iTunes at Last.fm
Performance Series 04, recorded February 5, 1973 at the University of Alabama. The first half is all the audience faves from Harvest. Then it transitions into weird versions of Ditch Trilogy stuff.
Neil seems in good spirits. But we know from the material, know from our vantage point 45 years out, that he's starting to crack.
