• It goes without saying that this relationship would have to be a secret at all times. If you’re behind closed doors and nobody’s watching, you’re the most perfect couple in existence. You joke a lot but you also have deep, serious conversations. You don’t fight, you openly discuss. The intimacy is definitely top quality. But when you meet outside of your apartment? You’re enemies. Simple as that. He’s on ShinRa’s blacklist and you’re representing said company. You cannot be seen together – at least not in a loving fashion.

• Vincent would probably be a little stressed out about this. He knows how it’s like to be a Turk. He knows of the duties, responsibilities and especially of the darker side of the job – tidying up after ShinRa or making sure their enemies stay silent. It’s not pretty, it’s not easy and first and foremost: it’s dangerous. He doesn’t like that you’re in constant danger. He’d much rather have you work at a safer, quieter job.

• But he also knows that nobody becomes a Turk if they aren’t real and passionate about it. Passionate as in ‘ready to work hard for it’. So, it would probably be unfair of him to tell you to quit and find another job. Even if he doesn’t like it – he supports you.

• He listens to you when you talk about your day, even though he’s done with ShinRa and really doesn’t want to hear about them anymore. He is still very interested in what you have to say. But he will not hold back on giving advice or letting you know his point of view on things – especially when you had to do some morally questionable things again.

• He secretly hopes that one day you will listen to his subtle advice of finding another job, even though he knows that it’s difficult to cut ties with ShinRa. But should the day come and you’re ready to leave that company behind, he will be there to help you of course. And if not, he’ll still be there with you every step of the way.

• That includes helping you out on missions. If you need his help in any way (which is rarely the case), he will not reject you. He will support you. He hates the thought of you getting into trouble more than he hates ShinRa. But sometimes he will actively work against you as well. Sometimes you know, sometimes you don’t. Think about the Sector 7 incident. If something like this happened again you bet your butt, that Vincent would try to stop you and your fellow Turks – even if it was very hard for him to actively fight you.

• All in all though, your relationship would be a good and secure one. You both accept the fact that there are parts of your lives that you just cannot share. But above all else – you truly love each other. That was the most important thing.

What I would give...

For a grilled chicken breast, not beef neck or veal sauce, pork knee or cow stomach just a plain grilled chicken breast. We are almost to the half way point in this trip, which is hard to believe. We are finding at this point we are starting to miss some comfort food like grilled chicken, mac n’ cheese, Mexican food and a nice simple cup of coffee that came from beans not freeze dried instant stuff or expresso. Not that I haven’t found ways to enjoy and appreciate the foods of Europe but sometimes you just want what you know. Reminds me of when I lived in Japan and we would get shipments of Mac n Cheese from home that we’d savor because it was familiar. Speaking of Mac n Cheese Maclaren has been in search of it in every store we’ve been in. I tried to make her some one night but it wasn’t the same. For now we laugh about having strawberry juice because there wasn’t orange juice or mango strawberry jam because there wasn’t mixed berry or just strawberry. One thing we can always find is eggs and bread and we can have eggs and toast for breakfast every day. There is also the fresh fruits and vegetables which help fill the void. I will say the kids have been awesome about trying different foods and finding things we like that we may never have again like the Turkk Piazza in Berlin that was a wrap with chicken and vegetable with a mediterranean flare and was delicious. So as you all enjoy that hot dog or burger for your July 4th celebration savor it for us too. I’m not sure I trust what would be in a hot dog in Prague.
