#tumblr rant
Your daily reminder to not put "You SHOULD be reblogging this" in your posts because you're going to trigger somebody's OCD. Especially when it comes to topics such as social justice or politics. Yes, your message is important but guilting people into reblogging it is not just reblog bait, but it can harm somebody mentally.

Really fucking annoyed. I thought amity was taking time off from Tumblr and then I hear it's been flirting and getting crushes and it's obvious and I only see this through other people?? And now a fucken gock pic is posted and I don't see it???? These things aren't important (well gock is lil bit) but these are cases of huge follower interactions and I'm not seeing them. Only hearing about stuff vaguely through dms.
I swear the only time I see her stuff is cause I follow it's partner. WTF why is it gone from my feed? I'm missing out on all my friend's stuff. Is this happening to other accounts?? Is this why I don't see mercy anymore too? This is so weird and annoying.

I’m happy that Chris got rid of his social media, cause some of y’all are fucking miserable and terrible. “He’s been scarce on social media lately” and it’s not hard to see why. People are meddling around in personal life, and it’s no one’s business. You bully his girlfriend/fiancé/wife/whoever, you make mean jokes about him, you harass his family and friends, and just go out of your way to be horrible. Not to mention, people crawl into the tags just to ruin things for everyone else that is a fan. Even now, in the CE tag, people are like, “why is he announcing it? So people will talk about it?”
IF YOU DON’T CARE, WHY ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT IT!? MOVE ON AND GO TALK ABOUT SOMETHING YOU GIVE A FUCK ABOUT!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, people think that because it’s the internet they can just say whatever, and that it’s fine. It’s not. It’s not just Chris y’all do it to. You did it to Sebastian Stan, Taylor Swift (I don’t even like her), Henry Cavill, and you’re doing it to Pedro Pascal (God help him if he does something y’all don’t like). You put people on these impossible pedestals, and then rake them through the coals when they do something you don’t like. Celebrities are not here to serve you. They’re people just like you. It’s already annoying when friends/family/co-workers try and tell you how to live your life. Now imagine if you had over 10 million people trying to give their input about shit they don’t know anything about.
Instead of bullying celebrities into living a life YOU think is right, focus on your own shit. Read a book, go outside, fucking take a nap, donate to a charity, help at soup kitchen, GET A JOB, focus on ACTUAL IMPORTANT ISSUES, the list goes on. Yes, I hope he comes back, but I’m happy he took a step away cause this shit is getting way too outta hand.
And don’t hit my fucking inbox with “well Alba said this” and “Alba’s friends said that”, cause I’m tired of it. Y’all didn’t like her from day 1, before y’all did a deep dive into her life. I’ve heard so many arguments about someone that NO ONE knows, and I’m just tired of it. Y’all hate every woman that man is with because it’s not you, and sweetheart, go get into your own relationship. I promise you it’s so much better. I just married my best friend, and it’s the best decision I ever made. I also don’t care about the age gap, so don’t come into my comments with that bullshit either. My husband is 8 years older than me, and he’s the youngest older man I’ve been with.
Thank you and be blessed 💋

Redeemed Claw Noir and Shady bug are NOT Ladybug and Cat Noir
They are their own version of themselves.
Oh wait... I should have said ** spoilers*** whatever.
What I'm trying to say is that nobody changes overnight. Claw Noir/Shadybug redemption arc happened in ONE NIGHT!! So I like to imagine that at least 3 more seasons of reverse-Hesperia-Miraculous show will be guaranteed to air after the special. Of course we won't watch it in our current universe. Bummer.
YES they will still be themselves. Struggling with their pain, with their emotional baggage, their FREAKING awesome overpowering strength (wow, these two really KNOW how to fight), their smirks and their silliness and their sassiness. Hesperia has the job cut out for him trying to reform these anti-heroes and bring them to the good side. It's going to be INTERESTING to say the least.
I admit that I spent last night rewatching the special again! and I'm happy the animators kept their quirks. Yes, RIP awesome Shadyclaw outfit *sob* It will take some time for me to come in terms with that.
BUT claw noir was too cool to change.
A hair tint, skip the lipstick, less punk more rock-and-roll, drop the mangy-cat act and go for that Lion King roaring look.
Same smug though.
His trademark:
Tumblr media
Look at him!
Paw Noir, Wonder Whiskers, neo-Claw Noir ... just keep that naughty smile on, baby.
Tumblr media
I bet Ladybug... YOUR ladybug likes it .
Tumblr media
She rolls her eyes on you? Whatever, you're still the cool cat.
Tumblr media
Speaking of which, she might look inoffensive with that new set up and natural make up going on but I bet she can still lucky charm a freight train and throw it straight towards the Supremes' minions if they get on her nerves. Self control will be challenging I bet.
I'm RAMBLING! *argh* That's what happens when I spend an unhealthy part of my night reading fics and watching Miraculous and listening to music. BUT I had get this out of my head. Feel free to write any story about their new reformed selves. I'LL READ IT!
BONUS SCREENSHOTS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later, loser!
...says the dainty-looking-ladybug with the red hair. Fire!
Now off to draw again. Battery charged.
**extra**
Golden-rockstar boy Paw Noir keeps getting me that Bon Jovi vibe. I need to shake that out of my head

When you have to argue that the glass is half full because they’re the ‘glass is half empty’ type.
Like fuck shit man, the glass has the same amount of liquid no matter how you look at it. I just want to hope for better so life sucks less. Don’t worry, I’m dead inside too.

I don’t think we realise enough as a community the extent of our own trauma at the hands of decades of queerbaiting in media.
People will laugh at this, but I’m actually deadly fucking serious. My friends and I have been talking non stop about Our Flag Means Death for the past week, and the one thing we all have in common is how much disbelief we have that they actually went there. That this show centers around a mlm relationship, that the two lead male characters of this show fall in love - and are allowed to show that intimacy and affection on screen with a kiss.
Looking on social media this past week, its more and more of the same. Queer people all asking each other the same things:
“Wait it’s real?”
“You mean they ACTUALLY get together?”
“It’s NOT queerbaiting?”
“Those are the LEAD CHARACTERS?!”
The level of disbelief and shock involved is so ubiquitous it’s actually really sad how much we have been conditioned to think that such a thing isn’t possible. Whilst there have been other shows made about queer characters, it is so rare to actually find a show that has been made with us in mind that isn’t specifically about a queer persons struggle in a homophobic world, about coming out, about fucking AIDS or some other dramatic bullshit where we die in the end. A show that was marketed for the mainstream as just a silly pirate comedy and not another LGBTQ nische for that specific category on the streaming sites, kept shoved out of the limelight so it doesn’t offend the mainstreams more homophobic tendencies. A show that also hasn’t bought into the kind of insidious PR to reel in queer fans by making over the top announcements about certain “bisexual” or “pansexual” characters, who are then never actually shown in same sex relationships, or announcements about minor characters in big budget movies who may be allowed a “gay moment” which is overhyped to the extreme when said moment is a blink and you miss it laughable excuse at keeping us queer fans placated whilst we are told over and over again that our existences aren’t meant for certain spaces and clearly not on the silver screen.
The trauma is real. It has affected how we consume the media we love. Audiences have been conditioned to recognise certain TV tropes for generations. We should be able to recognise a developing romance on screen. Lingering eye contact, romantic music cues, camera’s panning over bodies from character POV to depict attraction, storylines filled with profoundly deep bonding scenes as the characters learn each other and get closer, secondary characters sharing knowing glances as they watch the pair interact...
For heterosexual pairings, these types of tropes are obvious - the characters get classed as a “will they, won’t they” pairing. Journalists and reviewers write articles speculating on when they will get together, cast and creatives openly talk about the budding relationship between the characters, fans happily share theories about the building love story and ask questions openly at conventions.
But where the exact same tropes are used on same sex characters, the opposite happens. The conversation is usually considered taboo. Any journalist bold enough to ask the question is usually quickly dismissed by the creators and cast, questions about the characters relationship are banned at conventions, fans are laughed at and openly mocked online for “seeing things that aren’t there”. Other fans loudly bemoan “why everything has to be made gay” and “why can’t we just enjoy platonic relationships?”
Queerbaiting over the last few decades in genre shows has become so bad, that it has left a generation of queer fans suffering from so much trauma that we were not able to recognise a clear romance between male characters on screen when it was happening right in front of us. Or in truth, we all recognised it, but we all just assumed that they were doing the same thing that so many of their predecessors had done. The creators of Our Flag Means Death were shocked that no one picked up on the relationship building between Stede and Blackbeard after episode 5, they were surprised that no one wrote about the romance in reviews of those episodes. The show remained relatively under the radar throughout its release, until in episode 9 the characters finally declared their feelings and shared a kiss on screen.
Only at that point, did the internet blow up, and through word of mouth, news of the openly gay pirates spread like wildfire. Queer fans all over the world are sharing their joy at something which for them, has never happened before - because we all expected yet another queerbait. Because we are so used to being disappointed.
I cannot stress enough how groundbreaking this supposedly silly pirate comedy show is for queer audiences. Yes, other shows have had queer characters, queer leads even, but this is a show that centers around two lead male characters who fall in love, with an extended cast of MORE queer characters, including a nonbinary character whose very presence had my trans friend shedding tears of joy. OFMD made it look so easy too.
I hope this is a turning point. Enough is enough. Queerbaiting needs to die. There is NO EXCUSE now that OFMD has shown how easy it is to do it properly, to take that final step. Two men kissing on screen should not be scandalous, not in 2022. Its time we start healing some of this trauma.

The rage I feel about clicking someone's username and not being taken to their blog is palpable. What a pain in the ass. Say you want to message someone, send an ask, or even- crazy- go see more of their posts to decide if you want to follow them. Too bad. You have to memorize and type out their username instead. Broken ass feature.

What's your thoughts on the questions "how are you doing today?" Or "how has your day been"
For me, as an autistic person, I find this particular question frustrating. If you are asking me about my day, I am going to take you literally and tell you about my day. And why wouldn't I? Thats what you asked. You reached out and inquired in what I assumed was a kind check.
But no. This is some weird politeness more akin to a rhetorical question to most people. If anything all your supposed to say is "I'm good" or "I'm doing ok"
You are almost NEVER supposed to respond to "how are you doing today" with anything negative. Because then it drops the mood. But why would you ask someone if you didn't care about how they are honestly doing. Sure, it may SEEM genuine but it often isn't and thats annoying.
This is just my personal opinion due to my own interactions and communication style. It by no means covers any other autistic persons experience as every autistic person is different.

Over the last week or so I find posts on my dash from tumblrs I never heard of/seen on my dash before and I don't think I followed them since they don't post the usual sims content I follow. Do you experience that too? I always check back before I follow someone. First I thought it's someone who had been inactive for a while but that's not the case. Is this a new auto follow feature contrary to the auto unfollow we experience for years now? Not a fan.

It's very fucked up thing that I should apparently identify and block strangers on Tumblr just to avoid seeing some weird stuff I really don't want to see.
For example yesterday, "according to my likes" Tumblr decided I wanted to see a post from someone I didn't know, that not only shipped David Tennant and Michael Sheen, but also claimed that Neil Gaiman shipped them too! So it gave me a free block list of people because, see, one thing I REALLY don't do is shipping real people especially when they're happily married and with kids, and this stuff makes me uncomfortable. And when these people need to involve a respectable man in their delusional fantasies, it just drives me off the wall.
And don't get me started on all the TJohnLocker metas from the Sherlock years that also keep popping up on my dash at least once a day. Last time was a bit of "my fault" because I mistakenly followed a TLJCer, but most of the time it's out of my control. I don't want to see this stuff, let alone get the piss because I find 90% of these theories absurd, delusional when not misogynistic, slightly homophobic and very bi-phobic.
I don't know how Tumblr's algorithm works, but maybe instead of focusing on our "likes" it should rather concentrate on what we reblog?? Our even better, what we tag? I keep unfollowing/soft block/block people I know regularly post things that I personally find annoying to avoid being annoyed by them, I mute all the right tags, and yet........
