how her heart dropped, and when she met serafina, she saw an exhausted kindred spirit, pregnant with a baby girl who would be the same age as her own daughter. how they clicked, like they were meant to be sisters, but just lost their way for a bit before finding each other.

how she was so ridiculously overjoyed when serafina moved into the neighborhood, being able to watch the budding romance blooming between her new sister and tugger and mistoffelees.

how she got to have another sister, for just a little while, and how serafina loved her and bombalurina like they were her blood, how skimbleshanks and jennyanydots loved serafina like she was their own.

how when she met her nieces and nephew, and saw athena's hair on sekhmet's head, athena's frown on ares' face, and little persephone, barely a few years old, and she realized who their father was, and when she read athena's letter, everything grew cold.

every feeling she had when she saw the picture of serafina and her children in macavity's wallet came back tenfold. the pain, the anger, the guilt, the absolute fury.

and when macavity came walking into the backyard on the day of the memorial, eyes full of self-pity and hands offering gifts, private things that belonged to her sisters that he had no right to hold onto, demeter felt nothing but hatred in her heart.

demeter hadn't known about serafina and athena, or their sweet little babies that she would one day come to love as her own.

3-Most common argument?

Messes and keeping where they live tidy. Misto likes everything to be neat, and thinks everything has its place. Tugger does not care, and finds putting things away a bother. He does try, he’s gotten better, but it does not come naturally to him. So Misto does most of the tidying/cleaning, and sometimes gets frustrated when Tugger comes in and leaves a tornado in his wake.

In more-human aus, they basically work to develop a system, finding chores Tugger can do that he likes/tolerates, and Tugger does know to at least put away his clothes and keep his hair/makeup products in the designated drawer.

7-What’s the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?

Well to start, Neither of them had expected to fall in love. Misto was still dead set on insisting that he didn’t even like Tugger, while Tugger had his reputation and free-wheeling lifestyle. (I head canon that they would meet up in secret for hook ups or hang outs for a while before they properly fell in love. And then it was months of pining before they confessed their feelings). So they had a secret relationship before going public.

So the biggest thing was; they stopped hiding that they liked each other in public. They still tease each other, Misto pretending to be annoyed by Tugger’s antics (Terrible bore). But they press against each other when they see each other, lean against each other, keep their tails entwined etc.

8-Nicknames? & if so, how did they originate?

Misto-> Tugger: Terrible bore, Rockstar, handsome, sweetheart, dear, brat, menace.

The general logic:

Sparkles: most common, default

Starlight: A more private nickname, when he’s feeling more awestruck/romantic. Most people are unaware of it.

Firecracker: When Misto is being particularly sassy

Raincloud: When Misto is sad and withdrawn.

I’m working on a story of Tugger and Misto’s first hookup, where Misto’s magic is secret. And Tugger calls Misto “Bowtie” when he is supposed to be unaware of Misto’s magic, but switches to Sparkles when he finds out.

18-Who leaves little notes in the other’s one lunch? (Bonus: what does it usually say?)

Honestly, this doesn’t feel like something either of them would do to me? This is more a Demestrap thing to me. I’d say for special occasions, Tugger, but it’s not really an everyday thing.

20-What do their family/friends think of their relationship?

Initially;

Victoria- thrilled and shocked. “HIM?! But you said you hated him?!?”

Munk: Certain that this is just a fling and won’t last.

Bombalurina: has been Tugger’s confidant for the last few months, and has been subject to his pining. She knows they’re genuine and has the most confidence in this working out if Tugger can get his shit together.

Now: Everyone has seen how they feel about each other and knows it’s a matter of time before they get married. They’re supportive and accepting.

Tugger for the headcanon meme?

☾ - sleep headcanon

There are a few ways I can interpret ‘the Rum Tum Tugger doesn't care for a cuddle/But I'll leap on your lap (…)’ + ‘I only like what I find for myself’:

Tugger likes to cuddle but he doesn’t like to be cuddled. Big spoon of the century.

(on a more serious note I do like the idea that he doesn’t like being held/weighed down while sleeping specifically because he doesn’t like feeling like he can’t get up if he so chooses, due to the ‘the cat’s sleeping on me I’m stuck here forever’ law. Especially if he was planning on leaving the person he’s sleeping with in the first place!)

Tugger likes to cuddle only if his cuddle-partner doesn’t want to. Thus you have Tugger spending his whole life fleeing the potential of a Munkuhug at the same time he’s bear hugging Mr. Misto ‘neat’ Offelees who hates having his fur rubbed every which way when Tugger grabs him.

Tugger likes to cuddle only if he initiates because he gets enough of random cats touching/grabbing at him on the daily, thank you very much.

★ - sad headcanon

Getting Tugger to admit he’s in a bad mood is difficult at best. There are few cats in the Junkyard/London who he’d sit down and have an actual conversation with due to ~celebrity worship~ and even fewer that he’d be willingly vulnerable with. And even then, it would probably take some prodding to get him to admit to it, and he’d probably only do so stiltedly. Tugger is very good at talking about his happy feelings. His bad/sad ones are harder for him to articulate.

☆ - happy headcanon

Tugger has a loudass purr. A LOUDass purr. His purr can drown out a person speaking at a normal volume. Sometimes (cough when talking to Munk cough ) he doesn’t want the cats around him to know exactly how happy he is, so he can keep it silent if he wants. Though you would be able to tell by touching his chest, which would be vibrating at a frequency undiscovered by man.

☠ - angry/violent headcanon

Tugger is *very* difficult to get a rise out of, and even when one does, it would be even harder to get him to show it, and even harder on top of that to get him to express that anger in a manner more intense than an annoyed eyeroll and a mane-toss.

✿ - S‌ex headcanon

Oh geez where to start. Heavily bisexual. Tends towards women but has literally zero comprehension on how a person can *not* be attracted to their own se‌x. -> If I know I am attractive then shouldn’t I be aware of other men being attractive? -> If I’m capable of getting myself off then how would I not be capable of doing so with other men? -> And so on. Same art, different angle, to him.

What I’m saying here is that Tugger doesn’t get straight people.

�� -  Bedroom headcanon

Cat: den in the Junkyard. Made from a broken record player. Not water or wind proof, sleeps in Munk’s den when it’s particularly cold out. He and Munk have just silently decided to not talk about it.

Human: Clothes all over his damn room. Stupidly expensive sheets. One of those insanely large beds that can hold like five people.

♡ - romantic headcanon

Only person he's ever has romantic feelings about is Misto (bc I'm tuggoffelees trash). After coming to terms with his new feelings, Tugger tends to feel a little lost about how to express them since he’d never done romance before, which tends to result in either extremely stereotypical/cliché acts of affection that he lifts straight from media/friends/etc or super bizarre things that Misto doesn’t even know how to decode.

My hc that Tugger is additionally bad at being vulnerable means he never just tells Misto about how he feels outright, & I hc Misto as autistic, so Tugger’s weird behavior always throws Misto off when it abruptly starts. I don’t have a single au or fic bouncing around in my head where their get-together goes smoothly, lmao.

♥ - family headcanon

Munkie & Deuteronomy ❤. I also like Macavity being an exiled Deuteronomy brother; I have a couple ideas for human aus where Mac isn’t evil, just kind of an jerk, and he and Tugger are a particularly efficient duo at giving Munk stress-induced heartburn.

Although I also like the hcs I’ve seen floating around where he’s distantly related to Bill Bailey/'ensemble Tugger' &/or rapper Tugger. And he hates both of them ❤.

☮ - friendship headcanon

Misto is his best friend. Tugger has a particular shortage of *actual* friends due to being so popular; he and Bomba would probably deny being friends if anyone asked, but they do talk sometimes. There’s a quick spot in cats 98 where you can see Tugger and Jerrie fistbump, so I like the idea of them being troublemakers together, though Tugger gets sick of Jerrie fast. & Tugger and Alonzo knew each other since they were very small, but they don’t like each other much, so they’re kind of reluctantly close.

♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon

Human: vinyl collection. Do not fucking *touch* his vinyl collection. Don’t breathe on it. Don’t look at it too hard. He has antiques in there. Limited edition shit.

Cat: collects shiny things, like jewelry and cool rocks.  He’s accompanied Jerrie and Teazer on a few of their heists in order to expand his collection. (look, they are professional cat-burglars and all, but sometimes windows are high up and they need a boost and Tugger is tall, alright?)

As much is Tugger is The Way He Is, he doesn’t care much for being touched or grabbed unless he initiates it.

▼ - childhood headcanon

By the time Tugger was born, Deuteronomy was already starting to get pretty old, so a teenaged Munkustrap took care of him most of the time. Baby Tugger’s favorite method of communicating his displeasure with any situation was screaming. Loudly. And at length.

As a kid he had a game called ‘Alonzo hit me’ where he would goad baby Alonzo into attacking him & then tell all the nearby adults (that were only partially paying attention to the playing kittens) that Alonzo just hit him out of nowhere. He would then watch like ^w^ as Alonzo got scolded. Alonzo still holds a grudge about this.

∇ - old age/aging headcanon

I do imagine Tugger starts to get more serious as he gets older; as of the period of the Ball I don't think he knows or cares much about fighting, but when he gets a little older he has Munk teach him how to hold his own and he helps patrol the Junkyard & such with Munk and Alonzo and all of them. He complains about it all the time, but everyone knows he willingly volunteered.

♒ - cooking/food headcanon

Human Tugger can't cook for shit. He burns or undercooks everything because he gets distracted or bored while cooking; he knows some good recipes and has varied taste, he just doesn't have the attention span for it.

☼ - appearance headcanon

Munk and Deuteronomy both have black fingerless gloves in most productions, so i love the idea that if Tugger takes off his leather gloves, underneath are markings that match the shape of his gloves nearly exactly, black fingerless markings just like munk & deut have. you know, like those *guy removes sunglasses to reveal he's wearing another identical pair underneath* gifs.

ൠ - random headcanon

I don't hc grizz as his mom like some do; though I do imagine he has a rough relationship with his mother. He gets his yellow markings & spots from her, though The Mane™ comes straight from Papa Deut. :)

Indeed I am! (And thank you!)

Headcanons, lets see...

- First, the characters are based heavily on the 1998 film, and a little influence from the 2016 revival. So here Misto is a young adult still learning the extent of his powers, Tugger is a little older and takes every opportunity to encourage Misto with his powers.

- When he realised his feelings, Misto tried to deny them/keep them hidden, worried he would just he lumped in with Tuggers fan club.

- When Tugger realised his feelings he was pretty relentless in his pursuit of Misto, finding any and all reasons to keep him near and turned his charm up to max.

- In the end Tugger has to bluntly tell Misto he loves him and doesn't just want the attention.

- Tugger helps Mistos confidence and provides peace from his overthinking, while Misto gives Tugger that secure unconditional love- he doesn't always have to be 'on' and impress Misto, his feelings are deeper than just how good Tugger looks.

- Misto pretends to hate PDAs from Tugger but he can't hide the little happy glow.

- While Tugger does enjoy holding Misto, or even carrying him around, in private he likes being held just as much.

- Arguments are actually quite rare, but this means when they do argue it's messy and explosive. Misto gets upset by Tugger not understanding his powers amd treats them as a fix all or safety net, Tugger gets frustrated when Misto gets jealous of the attention he gets and cuts himself off. Their apologies usually happen at the same time and come with thoughtful little gifts. Tugger likes the quirky sparkly things Misto can find and Misto is easily won back with some charm and rice pudding.

- Sibling reactions, Tugger- Munk: supportive of their relationship, believing Misto will help calm Tugger down. He doesn't realise, Misto has a mischievous streak and will end up encouraging Tugger. Macavity: Doesn't know, obviously. Not exactly on speaking terms and they try to keep him away from Misto and his powers.

- Sibling reactions, Misto- Victoria: As Mistos twin, she has a slight touch of magic herself. That with how well she knows Misto she sees they are happy, very good for each other and completely supports them. But if Tugger hurt her brother she WILL throw hands. Alonzo: He can get almost over protective of his younger siblings and this can cause tension between Alonzo and Misto. He's apprehensive about the pairing but for now holds his tongue and just keeps an eye on Misto.

Fun little random bits:

- Tugger stays close to the back in most group formations because it's easier to keep an eye on Misto- usually he'd be as central as possible.

- In Human/oid AUs, Misto will always without fail, steal Tuggers clothes to relax in. They're big, comfy and smell nice. Tugger has absolutely no problem with this.

- They would be one of the first couples to volunteer to take care of stray/abandoned kittens that find themselves in the Junkyard. They create a very sweet, unconventional family this way.

This is all I can really think of at the moment 😅 Some things are flexible depending on who I'm working with or if the plot needs it.

▼: childhood headcanon Tugger had a rough childhood. His mother, Grizabella, left when he was very young, so he never really knew her, but he felt her absence through Macavity, Munkustrap, and Old Deuteronomy. As he got older, Macavity emotionally manipulated him and physically abused him. Tugger looked up to Macavity a lot, believing he deserved whatever pain Macavity inflicted upon him. After Old Deuteronomy discovered this, Macavity was promptly banished. Munkustrap started to become a more parental figure for Tugger, although he was overbearing in his attempts to help Tugger. Tugger grew up feeling stifled, and having trouble understanding that Macavity was not a good brother. They eventually got all this sorted out, and now Tugger and Munk have a strong relationship.

♥ : family headcanon Tugger is the son of Old Deuteronomy and Grizabella. His brothers are Munkustrap and Macavity. 

♡: romantic headcanon I’m just gonna go with tuggoffelees for this, but if you’d like to hear about my other ships involving Tugger, feel free to ask! Tugger and Mistoffelees are boyfriends. They kind of circled around each other for quite a while before actually entering a relationship. They are disgusting to be around in public. It is either innuendos or sappy romantic things, no in between. Tugger is the lovable dork, Misto is the stubborn smart one. 

♦: quirks/hobbies headcanon I think sudden loud noises startle him pretty badly, he collects random items, both for himself and others, and he’s surprisingly good at cooking (human au).

My Favorite Cats Ships

Okie dokie, @whitmerule wanted to know my main ships/pairings and I knew I’d have to make a post dedicated to this at some point so here it is lol (also sorry this is so long). My “main” universe, which is what all of my main pairings are in, is based on the ‘98 film for the most part (although really all of my universes are based on the ‘98 film, just with alterations here and there). 

Edit: My preferences have changed somewhat, so I’ve edited this list to reflect my current feelings towards certain pairings. This means that I’ve deleted some pairings that I don’t like much anymore, and have added some new ones :). All of these ships are in no particular order btw.

Main Pairings:

Tuggoffelees 

-I know it’s super popular and there’s loads of content on them, but I still stan. I don’t love them AS much as I used to, but they were my first ship in this fandom, and therefore are still very important to me. 

Demebombastrap 

-In terms of individual pairings, I really like Demelurina and Bombastrap on their own, but I like them best all together. I used to be quite fond of Demestrap by itself, but I’ve gotten pretty tired of that ship over time personally (obviously nothing against people who like this pairing a lot, kudos to y’all who love Demestrap ^^), so I’m not that big a fan of them on their own anymore. In order of the individual pairings I like best: Demelurina first, Bombastrap second, and Demestrap not so much.

Skimblegus (Skimbleshanks/Asparagus Jr., NOT Gus the theatre cat, I see the two of them as separate characters in most productions).

Jellydots (Sweet lesbian grandmas <3).

Tumblejem 

-This is my self-projection asexual pairing, leave me alone lol. They give me bestie vibes and I love that for them <3.  

Platoriateazer 

-This is a bit of a rarepair, but it is one of my main ships, I see Teazer and Plato as platonic partners and Tori as their mutual gf. Alternatively, I like Victeazer and Platoria on their own as well, although I like Victeazer a bit more than Platoria, but I prefer them all together.

And that’s about it for my “main” pairings, here’s a list of my alternate pairings/rarepairs that I love too much for my own good.

Alternate Pairings/Rarepairs:

Demandra 

-No longer my main blog’s url, but they have their own blog now and therefore are still ridiculously important to me XD. This is my fave rarepair, and might also be even MORE of a self-projection asexual pairing for me than they were before. I’ll say it once, this is my ultimate comfort pairing. 

Plonzostrap (Plato/Alonzo/Munkustrap, alternatively, I like Alonzostrap and Plonzo on their own as well, although I haven’t put that much thought into Munklato on its own).

Platoricopat (Cats Zurich got me obsessed with this concept, and @whitmerule’s gifs are are just *chef’s kiss*).

George/Etcetera/Electra 

-I don’t really have a ship name for this, and also this particular pairing is very complicated and I’ll try to explain it as best I can. George and Etcetera are romantic partners, Etcetera and Electra are queer-platonic partners (I see Electra as aromantic), and George and Electra are platonic partners. This is technically a main pairing for me, but it’s sort of rare and complicated in its dynamics so I put it down here. Also, I adopted the hc that George is a Pollicle btw.

Oh and just as an aside, I also really like Elecctera and Etceorge on their own, but I probably slightly prefer Elecctera, I just love the queer-platonic besties vibes of them <3. 

Mungocavity (This is in a scenario where Macavity is less evil and more of a dumbass, but I really like this pairing. It would be one of my main pairings if my main universe Macavity wasn’t complete shit).  

Jemtoria

-One of my newer ships, I usually see Tori and Jem as being somewhat far apart in age, so this is in a scenario where Jem’s a bit aged up and Tori’s a bit aged down. I love everything about this pairing. Considering how much Jem and Tori interact with each other in the show, this ship has so much potential to me. They’re just so soft and they make me really happy <3. 

Tuggoffeleteazer

-Once upon time I didn’t think I’d ever ship Tugger or Misto with really anyone but each other, but times change. Initially, I got very interested in the idea of Rumpletugger (which I still quite like on it’s own), but then later became intrigued by the idea of Mistoteazer (and all the shenanigans they’d get up to, both being mischievous and chaotic), so of course this led to me just putting all three of them together XD. I love this trio so much, they just give “bestie vibes ONLY” type of energy, and feel like a super chaotic friend group, and that makes me really happy. 

Bombbella

-I’m not even sure how to explain what led me to becoming so attached to this ship XD. I had seen people mention it being a neat concept in passing, but I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who actually truly ships them. I basically got into this ship through my “Jellicle leader Griz” au thing, which is an au where Griz is the oldest of Deuteronomy’s children and was expected to become the next Jellicle leader. She’s much younger in this au than how I typically see her, so the newer Griz design fits well in this scenario. I just got really into the idea of Griz and Bomba being tragic ex-lovers. 

They dated for a long time in their teens, broke up for a few years, and then got back together again when they had matured, and then Griz went and abandoned the tribe (as well as Bomba) to see the world and pursue her dream of being a star. Griz returned eventually, but the damage had been done, and Bomba was far from ready to forgive her. In the end though, she does forgive Griz, as does everyone else, but then Griz goes on to be reborn, and they miss their chance at happily being together. It’s just all in all a really fun concept for me to play around with, and has so much angst potential. 

Jellycass

-Not a new ship, quite the opposite actually. This is a ship that I usually don’t think much about (hence why it wasn’t here when I first made this list), but whenever I do, I always feel at peace inside lol. I can’t for the life of me find the post that got me into this ship (trust me, I have searched ALL over tumblr for it, I looked through both Jellylorum’s and Cassandra’s ENTIRE tags and still couldn’t find it), but I saw a post when I was first getting into the Cats fandom that talked about how Jelly and Cass would be this sort of “odd couple” that the tribe didn’t really understand, but clicked super well with each other for some reason. 

Even though I only ever saw that one post on them for a long time, I grew really attached to the ideas it presented for Jellycass. I like the age gap concept in particular, with my personal idea of it being Cass in her late twenties to early thirties, and Jelly being in her late thirties to early forties. It really heightens the “odd couple” energy of them, and I can see Cass getting along really well with someone older. Troika provides me all the rights for this ship <3. 

Some Extra Stuff:

Even though I like Platoria as an individual ship, and ship them to a degree, I’m not super interested in them. They’re a bit bland for me if I’m being honest. I like seeing them on my dash, but I won’t actively seek out content of them, so please don’t tag me in stuff surrounding them if you don’t mind (obviously this doesn’t apply to their poly equivalent). I used to include Demestrap in this section, but now I’m really not all that fond of them, I really only like them together in a poly scenario, like Demebombastrap or even Demelonzostrap. 

There’s a bunch of ships that I categorize as “I like it, but I don’t ship it,” and that’s where ships like Munkujerrie and Alonzoffelees fall. They’re ships that I enjoy as concepts, and that I would probably read fanfic about if given the opportunity (and like fanart of), but I don’t necessarily ship them. So you don’t need to tag me for them. 

The only ships that I just straight up don’t like, although I have nothing against people who like them, are Tuggerlurina, Mistoria, Skimbledots, and Jellygus, Tuggerlurina being the one I dislike the most. I just scroll past content of them if I see it on my dash, I thought I should probably list them here cause idk, might be useful to @whitmerule to know which ships I really don’t like. 

Note: I don’t see any of the characters I listed here as being biologically related, some people hc Deme and Bomba as sisters, or Etcetera and Electra as being twins, I don’t see this personally (In fact I have a whole bunch of family hcs that I’ll probably save for another post, if anyone even wants to read that lol). 

And now for my favorite 2019 movie pairings (which I also don’t see any of them as being biologically related), because they’re sort of relevant since I’m listing pairings and stuff so I feel like putting them here too:

2019 Movie Main Pairings

Mistoriastraps 

-This is the ONLY scenario where I like Misto and Tori together. I only like it when it’s in the 2019 movie, and only if it’s with Munk, those are my two requirements lol. I think Munktoria and Munkoffelees are really cute too, but I don’t care for them that much, I like them best all together.

Demandra (I see their relationship very differently in the movie, and I prefer their stage-show relationship, but as always, I love them). 

Tantojerrie 

-I know they don’t really interact in the movie, but I saw people talking about them as a ship on here, and I just think they’d be really cute. Technically Tanto is implied to be kitten age in the movie, but I imagine this as a post-movie, next Jellicle Ball type scenario. I see Tanto as being on the cusp of adulthood, where she’ll probably be an adult at the next Jellicle Ball, and I see Jerrie as being a very young adult, so they’re not far apart in my mind (plus I see Jellicles, being cats and all, aging differently than humans, so this isn’t as odd to me as it might be to other people).

Hestia ends up being the only one of the Deuteronomy-Jones kids to end up doing ballet as a full-time career. Mistoffelees never lived vicariously through his kids, but seeing Hestia and Tumblebrutus go into dance as something full-time warmed his heart so so much. She and Tumblebrutus become one of those ballet it-couples, where everyone knows they're together, and if one of them is seen auditioning for a role in a ballet that's part of a romantic pair, the other isn't far behind.

Their first big role is in "The Nutcracker", where Hestia is cast as Clara, and Tumblebrutus as the Nutcracker. It's a role they both know well, having danced it as children and young adults, but being on a professional stage makes it so much more real.

Mistoffelees can't help but cry sitting in the first row, watching his daughter dance and be applauded by thousands of people. Hestia makes eye contact with him throughout the show, happy tears in her own eyes, and at the end of the show, as she bows, she blows him a kiss.

When it comes time for everyone to go to the stage door, of course there are crowds waiting for the two leads. However, as soon as the doors open, Hestia's flying past all the cheering people straight into her papa's arms, clinging to him as he spins her around, just like he used to when he was Drosselmeyer and she was Clara.

Mistoffelees is absolutely bursting with pride, and Hestia's beaming, and she doesn't leave his side, even as her siblings pile onto her in a tight group hug, or as Tugger peppers kisses all over her face, cheek stained with tears he fervently denies shedding.

i don't talk about platoria within my human au nearly enough, so here's a little hc i've been thinking about for them:

Plato and Victoria met when they both auditioned for "The Nutcracker" when they were still young. They became very close over the course of rehearsals, and stayed in touch afterwards.

After that season, it became almost second nature for them to seek one another out at auditions, and spend all their time together, giggling and practicing.

Finally, one year, when they were old enough, Plato and Victoria auditioned for the Nutcracker and Clara without telling each other. When the cast list came out, and they realized they'd be dancing opposite each other, they were absolutely overjoyed, and that's when they started to realize that their relationship was quite a bit more than just friendship.

They were Clara and the Nutcracker a few times over the years, until they got to be a little too old within their company to play those roles.

However, they basically graduated from playing Clara and the Nutcracker to being Sugarplum and her Cavalier. It was so exciting for them to be able to play roles together, and that first season of playing those roles is Victoria's favorite, because that's when Plato proposed to her.

It was closing night, and they were all so very very emotional and all of Victoria and Plato's family and friends had come to see the final show, so of course Plato met with Bustopher and Mistoffelees the night before, told them his plan (Bustopher cried and Mistoffelees hugged Plato so tightly he thought his ribs would crack). When it came time for them to bow together, Plato stepped back, allowing Victoria her moment, and when she turned around, he was on his knees, holding a ring and bouquet of flowers, and the biggest smile on his face.

"The Nutcracker" is Victoria and Plato's show, and every single year, no matter if one of them is performing or not, they make it a tradition to see the show if it's in town, and every year, without fail, they get more than a little emotional watching the performance.

it honestly depends! if it's just misbehavior, then Tugger and Misto switch off on who goes to get the kids. I do think that at least one of the older kids gets into some kind of actual fight with a classmate who makes a comment about the Deuteronomy-Jones kids not looking alike, usually directed at Fabre, Hestia, and Jubilee, and one of the older kids goes absolutely FERAL

like Sek and Hades just say the truth, that their dad slept around, Calliope, Ares, Apollo, Iris, and Thetis become dramatic and start pointing fingers like "WHICH ONE OF YOU IS ADOPTED" (Calliope always dramatically announces that it's her, which... makes Tugger CACKLE when he finds out), but if someone makes a comment like that to the Littles? to the triplets??? oh they'd better fear for their life

if that does happen, then both Tugger and Misto go in, but they ask for the full story from their kids and their friends (like Cori and Tanto 100% go to the same school and are always ready with the truth), and after deciding on a punishment, usually a grounding, (bc yeah, good on the kids for protecting their siblings, but they really shouldn't have punched the kid), they all go out for ice cream.

in the month following Serafina's death, Tugger and Misto pretty much did not have the bed to themselves. Hestia's crib was next to Tugger's side, and Hades refused to be parted from his baby sister, so he was in the bed, and Apollo, Iris, and Thetis knew something was off and that their mama wasn't around, and cuddled up with their dads and brother.

I think there was one or two times after Jubilee was adopted that she and Hestia ended up cuddling with their dads (or they cuddled with Hades, because Best Big Brother Award goes to him)

And of Athena's kids... I feel like Persephone was the only one who ever had to do that, but after getting comfortable in the house, Sek and Ares probably approached Tugger and Misto after a bad night and talked about the nightmare with them

the triplets 100% end up wandering off because they spotted one of their favorite characters in Disney. Either Hestia saw Belle, Jubilee saw Alice, or Fabre saw a Haunted Mansion dancer, and the three just go bolting off until they're separated. The good thing is that Tugger and Mistoffelees absolutely predicted what would happen, and attached those little trackers to the backpacks that all the kids are wearing, and after a little frantic searching, they're found, and everything's okay.

like Tugger and Misto don't put their kids on leashes, but they're smart enough to know that with twelve kids in a place like Disney, they're bound to run off, so the trackers are only for those times when they're all together and there's a possibility for separation.

Apollo, because he's a little shit, and he and Calliope team up to get the babies to give their dads the BIGGEST puppy eyes, and it always works, because Tugger and Misto are absolutely unable to resist Ziggy and Persephone

Tugger was pacing in and out of each room in the house, inspecting the decorations, and making sure that everything was perfectly in place.

Munkustrap watched his younger brother with a fond, amused smile.

"Tugs, calm down." he said, reaching out to grab his brother's shoulder. "You've bought out probably every party store in the city, and everything looks great."

Tugger's shoulders fell, and he let out a deep breath. "I just want everything to be perfect. It's her first birthday with us, and I want her to feel special."

Munkustrap raised an eyebrow. "Tugger, you spoil every single one of your kids to death. Of course she's going to feel special."

Tugger let out a huff of laughter, and he leaned into his brother, resting his head on his shoulder. Munkustrap wrapped an arm around his shoulder, a comforting, grounding gesture.

In the living room, Hades was directing the triplets with all the seriousness of a ten-year-old whose only goal was to make sure his siblings did everything perfectly.

Apollo, Iris, and Thetis were following their older brother's directions carefully, Apollo clumsily climbing up onto a stool to scatter blue glitter all over the fireplace.

"How's that?" he called over his shoulder, and Hades nodded approvingly.

"Perfect, 'Pol." he said, and Apollo beamed at the praise. "Iri, 'Tis, are you guys almost done?"

The two sisters excitedly held up the paper chain they were finishing, a rainbow of pastel colors that Tugger was waiting to hang up on the now glittery fireplace.

A few minutes later, the decorations were finished, and the rest of the family had arrived. Demeter was prepared with her camera around her neck, already snapping photos of Tugger and Hades waiting, and Amunet had brought along her own twins, Coricopat and Tantomile, who had immediately been swept up with the triplets.

Jennyanydots took a glance outside of the window, and let out a gasp.

"They're back!"

In a flurry of frantic movement, the gathered family tucked themselves into the living room, Jemima standing with her cousins and friends, all the little ones waiting excitedly.

Mistoffelees swung the door open, and Jubilee and Hestia entered the house, hands entwined and giggling as they darted past their papa's outstretched hands.

As the girls approached the living room, they were stopped by the sight of their family jumping out in front of them.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

Jubilee stopped in her tracks, and her eyes went wide as she took in the house, which had been transformed into a Wonderland.

Hestia let out a delighted laugh as she tugged her sister forward, bouncing on her toes as she exchanged a beaming smile with Mistoffelees, who followed the two girls at a more sedate pace.

Jubilee's eyes clouded with confusion as she looked between Mistoffelees, Hestia, and the house. "What?"

Tugger approached the curly-haired girl, and knelt down, reaching out to take her hand. "We wanted your first birthday with us to be extra-super special."

"Really?" Jubilee asked, voice shaky as she took in everything around her. "This is for me?"

"Of course, Jojo!" Hades, always the devoted big brother, exclaimed, darting forward with the triplets to surround their younger sisters. "Deuteronomy-Jones kids get the best birthdays!"

Jubilee sniffled, and flung herself into Tugger's waiting arms, her dad instantly gathering her up as Mistoffelees joined him in hugging their newest addition.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

Tugger and Mistoffelees exchanged a ecstatic look, and Mistoffelees kissed his daughter's head.

"Come on, Rabbit. We've got a tea party waiting for us!" he said, tugging on Jubilee's hand. "And we can't be late."

He winked, and Jubilee giggled as she reached out to take Hestia's hand as well.

Her smile never faded as she took in the Wonderland-themed decorations, as her family gave her soft smiles and warm hugs, as her sister stuck by her side.

It was a very happy birthday indeed.

human au thoughts of hades having a joint tiktok account with sekhmet and their entire account is just videos of the family (ofc the littles have their faces blurred out) and with silly little captions over random moments such as:

munkustrap, macavity, and tugger playing monopoly, and macavity just sighing heavily and giving up one of his properties, and in the background of the video you hear sekhmet saying "I haven't seen uncle mac so willing to give something up since our custody hearing" and the video cuts off as hades collapses to the ground laughing and tugger shouts "SEKHMET DUTERONOMY-JONES"

like half their account is roasting macavity, so hades makes one that's a video of macavity, then cuts to athena and serafina's graves, and the text says "when your biological father is so bad at relationships that the only women he's ever been with die"

i fully believe sek and hades use dark humor when it comes to their moms because they WOULD

they film ootd with the whole family, and it's just all the kids + tugger and mistoffelees lined up and it goes super fast and chaotic but it's so much fun

there's a series called "where is my shit" and it's just hades turning on the camera and saying things like "today on where is my shit, i can't find my jacket", and it's just him looking for it, and 9 times out of 10 one of his siblings has it

i just think they'd be so silly and have so much fun roasting their whole family, but they'd also make super silly edits and videos about how much they love them

thinking about how in a slightly altered version of the human AU, Macavity gets his shit together much faster, and ends up with a steady partner and a new kid, and a few years down the road, he goes back to the old neighborhood with his family, and the kids see him acting like the perfect dad, and it's like the scene in how i met your mother except it's Hades standing across from him in Tugger and Mistoffelees' kitchen while Macavity's partner and kid are outside and he's being good at controlling his emotions until Macavity says something about why Hades is being so closed off, or asking Hades what's wrong, and he just explodes and screams "because if you were going to be some lame suburban dad, why couldn't you have been that for me?!"

ok i'm still thinking about "The Nutcracker", and while watching a bunch of different versions, I've noticed that a few times, the girl who's playing Clara (especially if it's a little girl) will have her dad as Drosselmeyer, and can I just say that I'm currently thinking about little Hestia as Clara and Mistoffelees as Drosselmeyer?
