idc what anyone says, this is a classic #TryNewThings LessAmazingPhil vid. It’s in the same vein as dan tries caviar, phil vs. praying mantis, gummy bears, makes dan cringe etc. A rare glimpse of their domestic life. So rare it feels a bit third-wheeling but privileged to see 🥺
Try new things, step out of your comfort zone, take risks, do things in ways you've never done them before, ask for help, surround yourself with self-actualized people, become obsessed with the fact that you have one go-round on this planet as the you that is you, and realize how precious and important it is not to squander that. In order to be an icon, a few times you need to be bold. How do I define boldness? Stepping outside of your comfort zone.
You should not remain in your comfort zone; if you want to make it big, you must challenge yourself, get out of your comfort zone, and succeed in doing well outside of your comfort areas. In life, we should explore options outside our comfort zone.

Try new things without burdening yourself with the weight of expected perfection. Flowers grow better without bricks sitting upon them. I'm proud of you for trying regardless of success.

I made samosas!!! I have never had them so I don't know what they should taste like, but these are delicious 😋 😍 it's a burst of flavor in every bite!!!! I used Indian spices that I've never experienced. They are delightful and sooooooo good. I'm gonna be making samosas as a regular part of my diet. They're vegetarian flavor bombs!! I love them!!! ❤️ I need to make more now! 🤗😍 what a great way to eat potatoes 🥔 😋 mmmmmmmm ❤️ 😋
I am eating a salad, which is reasonably nutritious and reasonably tasty, even though a year ago I would have said salad is gross. But I tried one, because I was miserably trying to lose some weight*, and I discovered they can be good? They can be good when they aren't a chunk of nasty yellow iceberg lettuce.
I feel like there's some sort of greater lesson where I'd like to share this philosophy of trying things you think you don't like, IF you would like to like them, figure out what specifically scares you/repels you and find the training-wheels version of that thing (a low IBU beer, a salad with a bunch of cranberries and chicken and stuff in it, california rolls) that does not have that problem or hides it well, but I don't know how to articulate it so this is what you get.
*(all bodies are beautiful, but a. [tedious unpacking of my relationship with my own body] and b. I couldn't fit my wedding ring)
These lyrics align with Moon way too perfectly. I’m so happy with this and how quickly it came together even though I only had half an idea. Drawn live on TikTok last night.
I’ve never been much of a painter. I always said writing was my only artistic skill… but this week I decided to try it anyway. I’m really proud of myself for finishing what I started. It was good for my soul. So here’s your reminder to try something new. You never know what will be on the other side.
💀 I am working on a Dark Cottage theme drawing. I had to learn new techniques in texture, which is very exciting because I didn't think I could do this style of drawing. Always try new things ya never know what you're capable of until you try. 💀
