Nostalgia (pt. 2)
Summary: You were called to sit and watch Richard Ramirez’s court cases, but when he stared in your eyes, you couldn’t help but feel a certain way…almost nostalgic…
Character: pronouns she/her (y/n)
Word count: 872
Author's note: Thank you guys for the likes and the support! <3
It's been a week since you've had that epiphany in court, after seeing the serial killer Richard Ramirez. And if things couldn't get any worse, this time, you won't just be seeing him, you'll be talking to him. There's no time or way to back out, as you have just been told a few days prior that this was also a stupid requirement for law school. Sometimes you would find yourself sitting there wondering what you've put yourself into by going to law school.
You've watched the other two videos of his interview with Inside Edition as well as with Mike Watkiss. You had to prepare yourself by studying how he acts so you wouldn't be surprised by anything when there. The only light being shed in this situation is that you won't be alone; your fellow colleague, Evan, will do most of the talking, or you hope so for your own sake.
Approximately an hour later...
As you walk down the jail unit, you felt uneasy. Evan started to put his hand on your back for comfort when he looked at your face. You always have speculated that he had some crush on you, as it was evident in the way he treats you.
"You okay (y/n)?" He asked, his face looking alarming.
"Uh, yeah I'm fine, just a bit nauseous," you lied.
"Is there anything I can d-" you cut him off, "I'm good, really" you said shaking your hands and walking away from him so you can escape the feeling of his hand on your back.
"It's right down this way," a cop that was escorting you two said, pointing to a door on the left.
Feeling even more unsettled, you breathe in and just when you're about to walk into the interview room, Evan grasps your hand stopping you in place.
"What?" you say, frustration hinted in your voice.
"I just want you to be in the right mindset for this interview. I can do all the talking if you want." He said.
"I'm gonna have to do some talking too Evan," you huffed.
Avoiding him to talk anymore than he already has, you walk into the interview room. Richard was there, with his long black hair and long legs. It was a rare sight to see him in his prison uniform- an orange jumpsuit. He looked up at you and smiled, with some of his teeth missing. This was the first time he smiled at you, and you knew he remembered you. The eye contact didn't feel like anything as it did the last time you were in court with him. As Evan walked in from behind, Richard jumped up to shake his hand first.
Weird...you thought.
You proceeded to sit down across from the chair Richard was in. You could hear him in the back introducing himself to Evan, with a Spanish accent hinted in his voice.
You snapped back into reality when you heard Evan introducing you.
"And this is my wonderful colleague (y/n)." He said, his hand out in your direction.
"Nice to meet you, (y/n)" Richard said, his hand out to shake yours. Hesitantly, you reached out your hands and shook his. His hands were warm, and felt welcoming rather than evil, considering those hands took part in killing more than 13 people. You quickly let your hand out of his grasp and he proceeded to sit down.
"So, (y/n) and I are here on behalf of our requirements for law school. We aren't the government officials or anything just yet," Evan chuckled.
Richard on the other hand, had remained a straight face and said "I see..."
You butt in, starting the interview, in hopes of getting this over with so you can go home. "Ahem, so Richard, how would you describe these past few weeks? Do you think your lawyers are trying their best with the appeals?"
Evan darted a look at you, shocked that you just started off rapidly.
"Mmmm, I know what my fate is, so I don't really care whether they're trying or not. After all, I'm a serial killer, what appeals would even work?" He grinned at you.
You got frustrated quickly. You forgot that he had this tendency to indirectly answer questions or not at all and just talk about something completely different.
Evan could tell that your face has changed, so he decided to take the reply in his own hands.
"Well, do you even listen in court? Do you not care that you're going to be put on death row? To my understanding, the lawyers are trying to prevent you from dying..." he said.
Instead of Richard to answer the question, he shifted in his seat. You can tell there's agitation growing in him. If he weren't in chains and cuffs and had a pistol next to him, he would definitely shoot you both in the head in a snap.
The cop that was stationed to stand in the corner of the room shifted his belt a bit, making sure to be ready in case Richard unexpectedly acted out.
You decided to go on with a more daring question instead...a question that Mike Watkiss nor Inside Edition could not get answered...
part 3 confirmed and coming soon!

The Murder of Kimberly Leach
Tumblr media
Kimberly Diane Leach was a 12-year-old schoolgirl, she was in the seventh grade. Kimberly, Kim to her friends, was described as a shy girl who worked hard at school.
On 8th February 1978, Kimberly was excited as her mother had said that afternoon she would take Kimberly shopping for a dress to wear to the upcoming Valentine’s ball. She arrived at school and ate doughnuts with her friend and went to her homeroom before leaving to go to her first class, PE. While in the homeroom Kimberly forgot her purse so went back to get it, she returned to the homeroom, picked up the purse and left, making her way back across campus- she never made it back to her lesson. Kimberly’s teacher assumed Kimberly had just gone to her second class and gave her books to her friend to put in her locker. Kimberly failed to show up at any of her classes that day, and her teachers grew worried and began searching for her. By 5pm when there was still no sign of Kimberly, the police were called.
Kimberly’s friends knew something was wrong immediately, they described how Kimberly never skipped class and was a shy girl who was unlikely to speak to strangers or go anywhere on her own. A witness had seen a girl walking towards a white van with a man he had assumed was her father, the man had brown hair and was clean-shaven and the girl matched Kimberly’s description down to the number on her sports jersey, the girl had looked unhappy but was not resisting. A schoolchild had also seen a slim man in his mid-thirties with brown hair standing near the school. Over 65 witnesses had seen this man in the vicinity of the school Kimberly attended.
In April 1978, about 2 months after Kimberly had gone missing her body was found in a pig shed wooded area, she had been raped and had lacerations to her neck.
Before Kimberly was found, Ted Bundy, a notorious serial killer and wanted fugitive was found when pulled over for a traffic violation. He had recently escaped from prison and was wanted for a string of recent murders of young women. Officers questioned him about Kimberly’s disappearance which he initially denied despite overwhelming evidence including fibres from the jacket he was wearing when arrested being found on her body.
In 1980, Bundy went on trial for the kidnap and murder of Kimberly Leach. He had previously been convicted for the murders of two sorority girls, Lisa Levy and Margaret Bowman, in the infamous Chi Omega attacks. During the trial for Kimberly’s murder, Bundy acted as his own council and asked Carole Ann Boone to marry him. He was found guilty and Bundy received a third death sentence for the murder of Kimberly Leach.
On 24th January 1989, Bundy was executed by electric chair at Florida State Prison. It is believed that Kimberly was his last victim.

They won’t free the few remaining imprisoned Black Panthers but grant freedom to a white woman murderer who tried to frame Black people and evoke a race war with Charles Manson?!
I don’t care if she was used or since been changed… she killed innocent people because her leader said so. She followed orders.
She laughed in court during testimony about her victims!
Fq her! Fq that hew!

The "boy in the box" AKA "America's unnamed child" has officially been found and given back his name: Joseph Augustus Zarelli. This is a monumental step. No child deserves to be unnamed, unknown, and unmourned. Even if his case is never solved, at least people will know his name. At least his family will get closure.
On that note, I've noticed a lot of people upset with the press conference above and their unwillingness to share the parents' names at this time. While I don't trust law enforcement not to be a part of a cover up, please remember that this is a case that has garnered a lot of attention over the years. Should the parents be named, it could damage any legal charges, including murder charges. It could cause the guilty party to flee. It could give others the ability to take the law into their own hands and harm the family, guilty and innocent alike. There would almost certainly be innocent family members that would be targeted in any sort of crossfire. We already know he has living siblings that would have been young children or not even born yet at the time. A cover up is not the only reason they may be unwilling to give out this information.
"Joseph has a number of siblings of both the mother and father's side who are living, and it is out of respect for them that their parents' information remain confidential," Smith said (See newsweek source below). This seems to imply that he may or may not have had full-siblings but that Joseph definitely has half-siblings, making the metaphorical water even more muddied.
A Twitter user claims to have found the parents (a link I will not be sharing out of respect for the family) and posted a photo of what he believes to be their grave. If both parents are in fact deceased as well as being the perpatrators, this only complicates legal matters further as neither suspect would be able to create legal defense for themselves.
In my very unprofessional opinion, it seems odd that the parents didn't report their child missing. On the other hand, we are only seeing a small amount of the information. There are other possibilities besides being guilty of murder that may have lead the family to stay quiet. It is dangerous to make assumptions of guilt without having all of the pieces to the puzzle. We should not do even further damage to innocent and grieving family members. We should not create even more victims of this crime.

Sequoia Samuels, a 4 yr old girl in Memphis was found deceased and decomposing in a trashcan on Caldwell Avenue. "Sequoia’s mother Brittney Jackson is charged with aggravated child neglect, abuse of a corpse, and false offense report. Jaylon Hobson, who police say is Jackson’s boyfriend, is charged will false offense report." says action news 5 journalist Myracle Evans. The mother told police her daughter had actually been dead for weeks. Her bind is currently 500k. Her attorney claims she allegedly disposed of her body after her boyfriend attacked her and she became "unresponsive". A neighbor came forward with ring doorbell footage of the boyfriend going door to door asking people if they have captured footage of their daughter walking pass. Sequoias paternal grandmother said she would often see the girl with bruises and burn marks. She remarks "“Every time she would come to my house, she would cry to not go back with her mother and I didn’t understand why,” Tara said. “I was so busy working, working, working, but oh God. How could you? I don’t understand.”

Rest in Peace to Baby Sequoia. Memphis will not let her be forgotten. It's ridiculous these people were given bond. Jackson's attorney claims that the mother was also a victim. It takes a village to raise a child. Why did her own grandmother ignore the signs of neglect and abuse? Why did no one step in to save this child? We need to do better.

Nostalgia
Summary: You were called to sit and watch Richard Ramirez’s court cases, but when he stared in your eyes, you couldn’t help but feel a certain way…almost nostalgic…
Character: pronouns she/her (y/n)
Word count: 414
It was time for the court case number blah blah to start. You had lost track at how many you’ve been to regarding “The Night Stalker” case. The case blew your mind, but, at the same time, there were killers all around. Didn’t matter to you whether or not he was a devil worshipper. You weren’t scared of him- you had no reason to be. Maybe that’s why the court cases you’ve been to, have always bored you out.
Richard walked into court wearing a black and white suit and his “signature” shades. You found it a bit stupid that he thinks he could sway the audience and judge into another direction based on his “professionalism.” You rolled your eyes. He soon sat down. He usually did this thing where he scans around the room for any “hot” girl so he could feel validated and turn them on. He had groupies who sat in a certain spot just obsessing over him. It was annoying.
You sighed, “another court meeting to get through,” you thought to yourself. The judge started talking but you usually tuned out and stay in your own thoughts when this happens. You couldn’t care less about it. You only had to attend these as a requirement for your law program.
As you looked up after 5 minutes of you in your thoughts, you saw Richard give you some cold stare. It was cold…and you caught yourself staring back at him, for some reason you couldn’t stop. You weren’t scared of his dark eyes, or his straight, menacing look. He only took off his shades to look at you; every other girl he had it on. What was the deal with that? But as you stared deeper in his eyes, you felt something. A memory from your childhood popped up.
You remembered seeing a little kid, about your age, dark hair, dark eyes, tan skin. He claimed he had got hit in the head by a swing. He had also told you in class that he suffers from epilepsy. You remembered feeling bad. Day by day you guys became closer, but he was always off to you. Strange, even. One day he just disappeared. But why did Richard, a serial killer, trigger that memory?
You soon looked away while you still felt his eyes on you for a bit longer, that’s until his lawyer whispered something to him, probably telling him to pay attention. You felt nostalgic, and something didn’t feel right…
part 2..?

Georgann, known as “George” to her friends, was a happy, confident and beloved girl. A Brownie and competitive swimmer as a child, she was full of energy and loved to talk. She had many friends of all types; people simply enjoyed being around her.
As a teenager, Georgann developed into a beautiful young woman, with long dark hair, dancing eyes and a beaming smile. As a 17-year-old high school senior, she was named a Daffodil Princess, an experience that allowed her to travel throughout Washington State, meeting children, attending charity events and participating in parades. In the spring of 1973, she went to the state Legislature where she addressed lawmakers. Coincidentally, the man who would abduct and kill her the following year was also in Olympia, Washington.
