Paradise Island is a U.S. Territory located somewhere in the South Pacific similar in size and feel to Hawaii or American Samoa. The population is around 1 million people, and a good number of these are part-time residents or tourists. There is an active volcano, Mount Kiapolo, in the northwestern part of the island.
The native people, known as the Akuans, were the only human inhabitants on the island for centuries until the end of the second world war. The U.S. military established a base and weapons testing site on the southeast corner of the island. During the 60s, tourism exploded on the western side of the island - and that industry drives the island’s economy today. Notably in the late 70s, the aquatic park known as OceanWorld opened to the public on the northeast corner of the island, in the coral reef area known as the Limu Shoal.
The year is 1987. Paradise City is bustling with more tourists than it can hold… but behind the glitz and glam is another reality: a dark world of strange creatures, vying interests, and supernatural oddities. Something is about to erupt on the island. There’s trouble in paradise!
Reg and Patricia arrive at a beach in downtown Paradise, looking for the former mayor of the city, Morris Brooks, and information on Patricia’s daughter, Grace. Sal and Aaradhya are searching for clues on the same beach, hoping to learn more about the gang known as Brimstone.
Not long after their arrival, a bunch of jeeps roll up on the beach and begin to harass the tourists enjoying the nightlife. The ringleader wears a jean jacket, shirtless with short, spiky blond frosted tips for hair. The group begins lighting things on fire and encircling a group of people in flames. Patricia recognizes Morris Brooks in the encircled crowd. Sal recognizes the leader of this group, Harper Reed. He is an infamous member of wild and Brimstone with a reputation for unpredictability.
Within moments, Sal springs into action and communes with the old water system feeding the beach showers that was installed when the hotels were first built. The waterworks indicate to him that water flows underground along the beaches, with easy access points regularly dispersed. Sal is able to open one of the sources of water and begin extinguishing the flames - Aaradhya does the same.
The plan works and the tourists trapped in the circle are released. This act of defiance angers Harper, and he quickly snaps his fingers and points his gang to restrain Sal and Aaradhya. The two are quickly restrained by the gang, and despite their attempts to appeal to reason with Harper, they get nowhere by talking to him. At this point, it becomes clear that they are not dealing with mere mortals: the demons have been using an infernal flame from the cracks in their hands to light it up. The demons inflict a small amount of harm on Aaradhya and Sal.
As a last ditch effort, to avoid violence, Sal decides to reveal his true visage to Harper. Upon realizing what kind of creature Sal truly is, Harper and his goons stand down and turn their attention to vampires in the area.
In a moment of fear, Patricia disembodies as a means of escape - but her passing through the dark expanse does not go unnoticed. Reg, on the other hand, makes a run for it… and is lucky enough to find a fellow vamp, pulling up in a red, 1969 Stingray Corvette. This vamp, Galina Cruz, is a recent acquaintance of Reg. She’s a member of night, running with the vamp gang known as the Stingrays. She owed him for something a while back, and is returning the favor. “Reg, get in!”, she yells and the two speed away as Harper and his gang hop back in their jeeps to race after them. She drops him off at his home and reminds him to look her up if he’s ever downtown at Club del Rey, then speeds off into the night.

When Vince had called him up, said they were ready for him to come back, Kevin had been ecstatic. Thrilled. Ready. He and his family were ready for him to go back, kick ass and prove that he could be the breadwinner, so to speak. He had been excited to go out there and wrestle, even though Vince hadn’t told him what he was going into -- and boy, did he wish he had known what he was getting into. When Vince had brought him out during the opening segment, he hated it. He loved the cheers, but he caught himself looking at Kofi’s face, and he could only feel disappointment -- disappointment on both of their ends. He needed to provide for his family, just like he knew Kofi did, but this -- he had been looking forward to seeing Kofi go against Daniel. And to be put in the middle of it, when it made no sense -- he was bothered. So bothered. Backstage, after everything was said and done, he was stuck. What was he supposed to do while waiting for their match? Go find Kofi, maybe explain? He honestly didn’t know. Taking a breath, his hands go to the top of his head and scratches his head, confusion warring throughout his system as his mind flew with hundreds of thoughts.
