About

Careless By Nature is the firstborn daughter of both Discord and Tree Hugger. Though Discord was around for a large portion of her childhood, he was not her main father figure, Bulk Biceps was. Under his rearing and the occasional parental butting in of Discord, Careless grew up in both Tree Hugger's household, as well as the Sparkle's. Because of this, Twilight very much asserted herself in her raising. Thankfully this didn't bother Tree Hugger, as she appreciated the scientific approach of learning that Twi provided for her daughter in comparison to her more natural / meditative one. 

The most surprising thing when it comes to Careless is that she is completely barren of any magic or magical talent (as far as anypony knows of). Most believed she would grow into her magic, but now with her reaching the age of 30, it is accepted that she does not have the ability. 

When it comes to siblings, Careless would certainly be considered quite rich! Her closest sisterly bond lies within her little sister Ophelia, as she spent a lot of time growing up alongside her before disappearing for quite some time once Ophelia and Persephone reached their teenage years. Because of her absence, Careless has completely missed the birth of her younger siblings Hodgepodge and Maelstrom. Now that she has returned to Ponyville she is trying her best to get to know the latest additions to her family, as well as try to get on better terms with Persephone. 

Personality-wise Careless is a bit of a recluse. She spends most of her free time hidden away from the ponies of Ponyville deep within the Everfree Forest alone within her cozy cottage. Rumor around town is that she puts forth an obscene amount of energy toward the worship of the God Aphrodite and even preforms sacrificial rituals of love. Not many know much about Carless, or even really want to pursue a relationship status past acquaintance with her. She's promptly hidden within the shadows of her siblings as well as the Everfree Forest... Just the way she prefers.

General Info: The accidental child of Discord and Tree Hugger, Free Spirit is a very friendly and laid back creature who enjoys the company of others. He's fully aware of how strange looking he is, and that's fine with him. When he's not hard at work at the local spa, Free Spirit can often be found relaxing on some cloud, and maybe offering some friendly advice. He's also not a big fan of conflict. but can also be a bit of a clown at times.

Relationships: Free Spirit is very close to his mother, having mostly been raised by her for most of their life. Being the biological son of Discord, he is allowed to enter the Royal Court for meetings, gatherings, etc., but often chooses not to as he prefers his relaxed life in Ponyville. Free Spirit has met his paternal half-siblings Mystic and High Noon, but is much closer to his younger half-sister Passionflower, and will often join her on her cleanup crew if he has the time.

Cutie Mark: Being a hybrid, it's unlikely if Free Spirit will ever receive a cutie mark. He does, however, have a job at Ponyville Spa.

Was picking through my files and found a bust of Careless where I was playing with her appearance some.

In her revised design she has rabbit ears/legs and some fish fins, but I’m still undecided on her hair.

I don’t want her to have dreads because I feel like most Treehugger kids do, but the dreads also match her personality?? Not sure what I’ll decide on but I’m sure I’ll think of something.

"Hello my sweet ray of sunshine...~"

Careless was born to both Tree Hugger and Discord though the two weren't actually in a viable relationship. Careless was conceived after a late night of drinking and partying at the Grand Galloping Gala. Discord felt he owed Tree Hugger his presence as well as his assistance in bringing up their child. Not that he wouldn't have done so anyway, he just didn't feel anything blossoming between the two relationship wise. Because of this, it led to a mutual agreement that Discord did not have to stay in Careless's life if he did not wish, and could peruse his newfound freedom of being reformed.

As a young Draconequus Careless spent most of her days exploring the vast forests and plains of Equestria with her mother and father, Bulk and Tree Hugger. She became quite fond of the mythical beasts they often happened upon and chose to follow in her mother's hoof steps of preserving them in anyway possible. Because they traveled so often, Careless was home schooled and didn't have many friends growing up besides her three sisters Ophelia, Glam Slam, and Persephone; but she was okay with this as she wasn't a social butterfly.

Raising her was fairly easy for Tree Hugger since she didn't have the magical outbursts and random occurrences that usually come with a Draconequus foal, though that being said, Careless did have an infatuation with smoke and flora. From an early age she was able to puff clouds of purple, glittering smoke and had a green thumb when it came to a flourishing garden! To this day she still holds the strange infatuations.

The few years that Tree Hugger spent raising her daughter Careless on her own are some of her favorite memories. Not because she had her daughter all to herself, but because of the bonding that took place. She taught the small Draconequus the ways of loving nature and those around her as well as healthy living habits for a happier body and mind. Each morning was spent out on the front lawn stretching together and assuming yoga poses, revitalizing their spirits and tuning their souls up to the Earth’s (according to Tree Hugger).

Their lives only improved when Bulk Biceps came along, who adored the two girls for all their quirks and behaviors. He especially took a liking to Careless, getting to help raise her and care for her, even earning the title of “dad” and treating her as if she were his own blood. Marriage was emminent for Bulk and Tree Hugger and their wedding was decked out in natural decor, a tie-dyed wedding dress, and a tacky tuxedo shirt. Their lives are filled with nothing but love and care for their family as well as the world around them.
