Sam knew something was up when you didn't greet him at the door when he got back. With the hurricane coming and his subathon on the horizon, the man wanted to be as prepared as he could be. Yet you were a crucial part of all of that, and you were seemingly nowhere to be found.

Bounding up the stairs after putting all his last minute groceries away, Sam knocked on the door to your shared bedroom quietly. "Baby?" he called, poking his head in. You were curled up in bed, sad eyes looking to the doorway. "Hey, what's wrong?"

"Just kinda having a bad day," you mumbled, pulling the blankets up further on your face. "Sorry, I know you're starting the subathon tomorrow."

Now there were very few things that genuinely upset Sam in this world. He was a pretty easy-going guy after all. But you being sad in any way, shape, or form, was one of the things that hurt your Southern boy to the core.

Without even thinking, Sam slipped into the room, quietly shutting the door behind him. He approached your bedside...and promptly laid himself across your hip. His full weight sunk into you, causing you to wheeze slightly.

"S-Sam!" you giggled, wiggling to try and see his face. "What the heck are you doing babe?"

"Sadness is not allowed here!" Sam shouted, not at all angrily. "I cannot condone it!" He looked at you abruptly, making you laugh even harder. Hearing your laughter lightened his heart, knowing he'd made even the slightest difference in your day.

Sam got up then, worming his way over you and under the covers with you. "C'mere," he urged, pulling you close. He nuzzled you aggressively, messing up your hair just the slightest. "We're gonna watch a movie, and you're gonna feel better."

Now, any normal person may have been vastly weirded out by Sam's antics, but this was the kind of thing you've come to expect from this absolute mad lad. You chuckled softly and shook your head, snuggling into your streamer's side. You honestly had the worst time paying attention to the movie that he had picked out.

Softly hands played with your hair, lulling you further into comfort. The man could have easily been considered your personal heater with how warm he was. And the rain that started outside was slowly becoming a soft lullaby, easing you towards sleep more and more with each passing minute.

As the credits began to role, Sam took the time to check in on you. Your eyes were closed, breathing even against his chest. A fond smile found him as he gently kissed your head. It was then however that the man realized how trapped he was, being squished between you and the wall.

Welp, so much for a night time routine.

Hmm... I'm not sure it is the strangest at all, but when my grandfather researched our family history, he uncovered that before moving to London for industrial revolution reasons, my family were from the fens. Which, having not known that at the time, was where my family moved to when I was about 3, following where my father worked. My grandfather got very excited and we found the grave of an ancestor who died a bit over 200 years ago in a cemetery just down the road from my school. We just... accidentally stumbled back to where we came from.

Just me speculating here but I think there could be a multitude of reasons why people have left the mcyt/dsmp fandom.

1) content. When content slows down and changes from what it was a lot of people leave because that have no interest in the new stuff or don't want to wait around for content creators so eventually get bored and leave.

2) controversies. Some people jump ship whenever something "bad" happens or allegations towards a cc happens as they "don't want to be apart of that community anymore" as in they don't want others to know they supported that cc if the allegations are true or not.

3) time. I think over time you can genuinely loose intrest in things. As a kid I love Harry Potter and everything to do with it. I read all the books, watched the movies on repeat, got hp gifts for b-day and chrim but now? Now I do appreciate the hp gifs on occasion and will only watch the 4th film because over time I've lost intrest. Same goes for stuff like the vampire diaries and the originals, and even marvel at the minuite (but thats a whole other can of worms).

Oh I one hundred percent agree with all of these! I know personally I was starting to lose my passion for writing for the community due to the lack of content. While I didn't mind going back and more than understand that the creators have their own lives, I did want to know more and see certain characters (Quackity, Wilbur, Tommy, Dream, etc) reach their own conclusions.

I guess, as a previous Homestuck fanboy, I'm used to the allegations end of it? Though again, completely understandable.

And again, totally get it on time! I, again, was a Homestuck fanboy and once content slowed down for it I really kinda fell off the face of the earth with it. Same with a few others over the years like Final Fantasy XV. All in all I totally understand these reasons! I do just be curious.
