📚 Resources for Black women who travel 📚 I really love travelling. There is nothing quite like discovering a new place, marvelling at its beauty, trying out local food and meeting new people. But travelling as a Black girl is not always rosy, and some of us have experienced racism, sexism, mysoginoir and other forms of discrimination during our trips. We might be concerned about going to certain places. And there is no section in any travel guides about what to expect as a Black female traveller.

Not all Black women will have the same experience when travelling somewhere. Some won’t encounter any issues at all while others might have bad experiences. Sometimes, this is just you and your luck. But this can also be shaped by presentation, money, shade (having light or dark skin), being gender non-conforming and/or who you are travelling with. There is not one universal Black female travelling experience, but knowing about others’ can still help reassuring or preparing yourself.

So I’ve decided to start a #SafeTravelsBlackGirl series, where I will post what I find to be useful resources produced by other Black women on places I am visiting or have visited - see link in bio. Starting with Prague. My personal experience in the city was really positive, and I would go back anytime. And you - are you a Black girl who’s been to Prague? What was your experience?

To my Travel peeps! Disclamier: I only smoke cigars when I'm celebrating. I celebrated because I got out of my comfort zone. Reuniting with a good friend, seeing a brand new city and doing things I've never done before. Culture shock was an all time high. . . . 1. Tequila shots were 2 bucks a hit. . 2. My airbnb was 200 bucks for 6 days. . 3. I spent about 800 dollars in total with air fare, entertainment and lounging. . 4. People were extremely friendly, as I was called "Black Panther" numberous times. . 5. I jumped in a cenote and climb caves for FREE . . 6. The cost of living here is insane, it's really affordable. .
