When he quickly gave up and turned to her, angry, accusative, yet desperate, she winced. The accusation was spot on, and she almost stepped back from the force of it, but she resisted the urge and instead stepped towards him.

Unable to meet his eyes–furious, broken eyes torn between hope and despair, eyes that expressed the vivid humanity within him despite his rejection of it–she bit her lip and aimed her gaze instead at his own trembling lips. “I did know. But I did not keep it from you with the intention of never telling you.”

She swallowed, and she felt more sure of herself with the stabilizing action. “Truthfully, I don’t know where he is,” she answered, briefly meeting his eyes again before letting her gaze drop back down. “I know you want to know–and I would to, but I hadn’t been able to find him yet.”

It was a half truth. She had some leads, but…

Her reaction was that of the cat that ate the canary--guilty as charged. So she had known, she had kept it a secret from him. Of course she did--and no excuse she gave Scaramouche would be believed.

After all, she hid the truth from him--what else could she be hiding?

"Whoa, wait, what's going on?" Paimon started, looking between them. She was confused and disorientated, just as the Traveler had been. "What happened? What was that memory? Paimon's... Paimon's not sure what's going on anymore--"

The Traveler shook their head, finally free from the dizziness of witnessing the same memory. They looked between Nahida and Scaramouche, the latter's accusatory anger and furious eyes making them tense.

"What's... going on?" They asked, turning to Nahida. "What was all of--"

"--You're a damn liar," Scaramouche interrupted with a sneer. "You know something, don't you?! You've kept this much from me, now answer me! What do you know?! Where is he?!"

Life Update:

Hi lovely! I haven’t been super active on Tumblr, so I figured I would update you guys on a little bit :)) It is summer and I am still living in Shanghai. A lot of annoying things happened for me to get where I am, but I am so thankful to have the opportunities that I do.

That being said, I’ve managed to score a fashion design internship and I am loving it so much. I enjoy seeing the process behind the creation of a fashion line and I am literally making my childhood dreams true. I am also a Summer Resident Assistant (the free housing is hittinggg). I still teach English to kids, which can be a bit stressful when I’m in the classroom, but I love it. Lastly, I am a fashion editor in a self started project with my friends called ZEEN* (@ZEENCOLLECTIVE on insta).

My life has been extremely busy with all of these responsibilities. I think I am handling it pretty well but I am still working on finding a balance between work, play, and self-discovery. It is really important that I figure out my new routines as soon as possible so I can enjoy my summer instead of feeling like I am trying to catch up to myself sometimes.

This weekend, I’ll be going back to Ningbo for a meditation retreat!!! They’ll be taking my phone for two days, so I am going to try to get photos on a digital camera, and share with you all.

Favourite Dramas of 2023!

Happy New Year everyone! I thought that I would do a Favourite Dramas of 2023 list just for fun! (I actually tried to do one last year but I got sick and by the time I was well enough to write it up it felt a bit too late to post it). I know that this list is very short and some of these dramas are less well known but I really enjoyed them so I hope other people might enjoy them too! **WARNING: SPOILERS**

Provoke - Such an amazing Republican revenge drama that was so beautifully filmed (the director was Zeng Qing Jie so of course it looked beautiful).

Good story, no filler, great acting, just a really enjoyable drama!

Back From The Brink - The only long drama that I watched this year. I really miss watching long dramas but I just don’t seem to be able to get into them for one reason or another. I think that’s why I enjoyed Back From The Brink so much because I liked all the actors and the characters and the whole plot.

I liked the lead’s chemistry too even though this drama wasn’t really romance heavy and was actually more of a “family drama”.

It was just a fun adventure drama that was also really funny XD

Love For Two Lives - This drama actually aired in 2022 but I wasn’t really aware of it until recently.

This was just a really funny and silly short drama that I really enjoyed. The romance didn’t play a big role but the whole drama was so enjoyable and funny that I didn’t mind!

Nine Times Time Travel - I haven’t seen the original Korean drama that this drama is based off so I can’t compare the two but I definitely loved this Chinese version. It was so twisty-turny and there was no filler, plus I don’t think that I’ve watched a time travel show like this before.

I’m glad that I didn’t binge watch this and instead watched it in small episode batches because there was so much going on in each episode!

Love Strikes Back - I really loved this drama, it was equal parts romance and revenge and had the funniest villains!

The villains busy plotting and getting on each other's nerves:

I think I also liked this drama so much because the plot actually reminded me of my favourite drama The Legends: FL “dies”/falls into a coma for a few years and then reawakens and is hell bent on revenge and eventually realises that the ML has been in love with her the whole time and has been secretly guarding her!

Please Don't Be Moved - This drama was basically a condensed one hour drama that included so many of my favourite things: badass FL, villain ML, ROMANTICAL ROMANCE, lots of angst, beautiful cinemaography and the “FL falls into a novel” storyline!

This drama really flew under the radar, they didn't even release a proper poster for this drama and out of all the 2 min ep dramas I watched this year this one was by far my favourite!

And that's all of them! I'm looking forward to what's going to be released in 2024, hopefully a lot of the MANY dramas that are currently on my unaired-plan-to-watch list because that list is getting very long now XD

I was just playing around with the mirror yesterday like how would Merc look with diff hairstyles and bruh can you even make an “ugly” char in this game? Every Tav I see is absolutely gorgeous. Anyway. Seeing them with longer hair was like wtf how are you that hot. I feel like it’s weird tho bc these styles don’t really show much of the grays but then with some their hair looks almost completely gray lol. I also kind of wish you could choose where you want wrinkles to be bc I want them to have crows feet a bit, but I do like the little wrinkles at the side of their mouth, sometimes they’re more visible in diff lighting (and maybe they’d get them there from smirking a lot or smoking a lot lol). I’m not actually sure what the name is for those kind but they’re kind of 👀.

I also thought about using this longer curly-ish ponytail for act two so it’s like their hair grew out a little from the short hair they’ve had (I am SO slow, I’m about to enter the second act but I’m like paranoid about forgetting anything so I’m double checking everything and already found a couple things I missed and would have been sad about).

I don’t really have a point to this post, I just love spinning Merc around.
