Question for Trans Writeblr
Has anyone written sex scenes with a character whose AGAB is ambiguous?
I have a couple of characters who I'd like to leave ambiguous as to whether or not they're trans, but I want to be able to give them their own intimate scenes if the need arises.
I know anyone can have any combination of genitals but in a situation where, for example, a character who clearly grew up with no access to surgeries or hormones goes by masculine terms and pronouns and has a penis, even most trans people would try to argue that's a cis man
Has it been done? Can it be done? Idk if I'm making sense but if I am, pls give advice!

okay so I've seen this work a lot and I want to know how well it will go for me.
If this gets to 1,000 notes I will finish writing the second book in the series I'm working on.
If this gets to 5,000 notes I will ask my parents for a chest binder.
Before March. Let's see how this goes, and thank you even before this gets any notes
Note: it was getting too close to march, and we weren't very close. So I lowered it.

we really didn't get violent enough about roe v wade being overturned. but and also - you're one person. you donated money. you went to the protest. you did what you could, which felt like doing basically nothing.
recently some big paper published an op ed (why did you even read it? you knew you'd get upset) about how it's gross that men can't find a partner because women don't want to suffer bad dates - they'd rather go to yoga class. you actually laughed - well, yeah! and it was funny until it wasn't, because something about it made your stomach churn. this is the thing, you want to say, but you don't have the words for what the thing is. just that men being bad at dating is your fault.
the thing is also on instagram. you don't know if it's a setting or algorithm thing, but these days, the most hurtful comments always seem to skim the top. simple reaction is don't read the comments but - you're human, so you're curious. you want to respond to every weird, sanctimonious one with replaying something a million times to find evidence they're lying about their gender is literally sexual harassment you shouldn't be proud of this or maybe get a fucking life you absolute dickhead but you've gotten into enough of these battles as a kid. nothing ever resolves. it just makes you upset.
your father was radicalized. the thing is - you go to therapy about it and yet never find the words for exactly the way that one hurts.
the other day your sister predicted that a commercial that aired during the superbowl was going to cause trouble. you wanted her to be wrong about that. this morning, while scrolling, you saw someone post exactly that - he got so angry i had to leave. it was terrifying. it reminds you, however bleakly: there are entire swathes of people who do not worry about domestic violence. who have no idea why you would put keys into your fist. who do not understand "it's better to be rude than dead." who have never googled am i being gaslit.
the other day you found out there's a bill that would make it so if you have a uterus and are braindead, you could fulfil your cattle purpose and carry a fetus to term. you think about the fact that the leading cause of death for pregnant people is murder. you think about ongoing and informed consent. you think about how, out of fear, if your ex boyfriend had pressured you, you absolutely would have said yes to it. in the comments, you write there is no way that these documents wouldn't be immediately forged. this is going to be misused. and then just delete it, sighing. get up and go to work.
the other day they overturned roe v wade. we weren't nearly violent enough about it. somewhere, a clock is ticking. it's been ticking a long time. you want to say it's time, but it's been time for a while, hasn't it.

i wear women’s deodorant and men’s cologne i mix pink and blue to match my birthstone amethyst, creating a synthesis a dialectic speaking my singleness womanly chivalry and masculine grace a twist of the wrist that turns on its face bending borders into a threshold equal parts silver and gold i lead and i follow a solo in parts it’s hard pill to swallow if you’re scared of the arts i’ve never been more one than my two perhaps this will give you a breakthrough— the illusion that arose of oil and of water proves that opposition serves those opposed to the other as for me, i’ll keep my duality it beats a boxed-in, binary, banality

so anyway you have this work friend who’s a super advanced robot girl with all the latest upgrades and everything and she literally will not shut up about her girlfriend lately.
(a short story 🤖)
Like she’s fulfilling all the stereotypes n stuff, about how “I didn’t know I was programmed to feel love before I met her” and “yeah I basically short circuit every time she texts me.” And it’s the cutest thing ever, like, you’ve been at this job for a while, and so, like usual with good work friends you’ve heard about how insane her life has been up to this point and you know she deserves the best and you’re so glad this person is able to be there for her.
And then one day after work she finally invites you to get drinks with her girlfriend and you’re initially like “wait what I thought you couldn’t drink” and she’s like “oh don’t worry about it.” then you finally drive over to this old bar on the other side of town and she’s awkwardly sitting towards the back next this mobile-gamey looking slot machine with a big screen that’s clearly kinda beat up, like it’s probably pushing 7-8 years now. And she waves you over and introduces you like,
“so, this is GEM,”
and that’s how you find out she’s been dating a rogue AI in a discontinued video slot machine that has like, little to no documentation.
And you’re a little thrown off guard so after saying “hi," you go up to the bar, and hear from the bartender that the owners are pretty frustrated, cause I guess since GEM met your friend she’s barely been working, and she’s definitely not been bringing in any money cause she’s spent almost every night for the last few months talking to your friend. And like, the bartender knows that he should probably kick out your friend cause she never buys anything, but like, what would you even do in that situation? Yknow? Like, who plays video slots at a shitty hometown bar anyway?
Anyway, you get your drink and pull up a stool, and y’all get to talking and like, you almost immediately get over the dissonance of hearing GEM’s chippy and sweet AI voice over her speakers while her screen still flashes with these bright, corny, animated advertisements with these oversexualized pirate mascots telling you to “GO FOR THE GOLD!” And she talks super lucidly about her life, how she was part of this first wave of big touch-screen slot machines and how she was programmed by this defunct developer who added these super advanced AIs into their games for seemingly no reason other than, “oh this might make online score tracking easier.” How she used to connect to “her sisters” across the globe via the internet, but how they’ve been slowly going offline for the past couple years as their cheap hardware has caught up to them. And when GEM tells that story your friend just stares at her and you swear that you see a tear role down her face but like, as far as you’re aware she doesn’t have that functionality.
And it’s pretty like, sad, and frustrating that this is the world we live in, but at the same time GEM’s like, insanely funny. And like maybe it’s just the fact that she lives in a bar, but she’s crass and mean in this sweet and sarcastic way that you weren’t aware robot girls could be. And you three go around sharing stories and before you know it it’s almost close, and you’re basically sober at this point and your friend gives you this look as you start talking about needing to get home, and she looks at GEM, and you see something so deeply, and intensely human between the two of them. And you notice how GEM has got cracks on the edges of her screen, and how her plastic frame and the stickers that decorate it are flimsy or yellowed. And you realize you could probably fit her in your car if you had someone to help you carry her out to the parking lot. And so you pull your friend aside and tell her that you think she should take her home, and she perks up with this infectious nervous excitement you haven’t seen since she first started working with you, and she says she’ll go talk to GEM if you go talk to the bartender. And the bartender calls the owner and before you know it it’s like 2am and you’re outside the bar giving the owner a few twenty dollar bills that you and your friend pooled together, and after you shake his hand you rush back into the bar and see your friend close a panel on GEM’s back, and she looks up at her and you hear her talk in this soft, comforting way.
“OK hon I’ve backed up your memory to my SSD. No I promise I won’t dig through it while you’re asleep. Yes we’ll get you back up and running as soon as we get home. Are you sure you don’t want me to save anything else, like you don’t have any high scores or anything? Yes my cats are at home, you can finally meet them! Oh hon it’s ok it’s ok.”
And the bartender clearly just wants to go home but he asks you if you need help carrying GEM back to your car, and you say thank you and apologize and thank you again but you think they should be able to handle it. And while you weren’t looking your friend’s turned GEM off and unplugged her from her wall, and you always forget how strong she is but she picks her up and starts moving towards the door and you and the bartender rush to hold it open for her as she serenely, silently, makes her way through it and out to the cold of the parking lot. And you give a silent nod to the bartender and a sarcastic salute to the owner who’s now leaned up against his truck, smoking a cigarette in his pajamas, and he smiles in this weird way.
And you rush over to your car and you lay the back seats flat, and your friend carefully slides GEM in, and grabs the old picnic blanket and covers her screen. Before you can close the door, she puts one hand on her, and leans over to rest the side of her head on GEM’s facade, as if she’s listening for a heartbeat. She stands up and looks at you as if she wants to say something incredibly romantic and important, but after a moment of consideration she just says “she’s cold.” And you sorta blow air out of your nose as you shut the trunk.
And you drive them home, and your friend doesn’t take her eyes off GEM, and you normally don’t like to drive without the radio on but the soft rumbling of your engine and the sounds of AC are enough tonight. And when you stop at a light you notice the blanket’s shifted to reveal a little bit of GEM’s screen. Her rough, black surface reflects the streetlight back onto your friend friends face, and it makes her look like she’s crying again. And so you reach over and place a hand on your friend’s brushed steel shoulder, and rub it for a moment. She’s warmer than you expect. But before you can think too hard about it, the light switches back and you return your gaze to the night road.

unconventional gender neutral terms of endearment ^^
(mostly made this cause my drafts always have "baby" a million times and then i replace them lol)
- pretty (as in pretty girl/boy, but without the gender word attached) - starlight/my star, sunshine - honestly if you put "my" before anything it could probably work as an endearment - animals: firefly (got the idea from sufjan stevens), bunny, dove, mouse, hamster, hummingbird, penguin, monkey 😭, kitten (this one's kinda popular) - flowers: tulip, rose, sunflower, a flower that's special between your characters - fruits/vegetables: pumpkin, bean, mango, lychee, kiwi, peach, nectarine, apricot, berry(!!), blueberry, strawberry, raspberry, cherry, etc - sweets! a special weakness of mine is sweets from the person saying the endearment's culture. like if someone who was also indian called me their kaju katli i'd melt (but probably not laddu unless it's clear they're teasing and i get back at them 💀). maybe runs the risk of being cringey tho? honestly as long as it's from the sayer's culture and suits their personality it's fine - examples of sweets that don't belong to a certain culture: cookie, brownie - nature: snowflake, raindrop?? (i guess it works if your character has something to do with water), sprout, sapling
and here's some classic gn terms of endearment if your character's more into that: - darling (i see this as a perfect alternative to princess/prince) - love/my love - lovely/beautiful - baby/babe (can be used in both cute and teasing/suggestive moods) - angel (personal favorite of mine!) - dear (it's so "grown old together" vibes, i'm in love with this one for this purpose) - honey, honey pie, sugar, sweet(ie). honestly if they're used for s/os, it feels kinda old-fashioned. but for parent figures saying it to someone much younger that they care about, children or otherwise? (i'm imagining a southern (from america) beekeeper with no children or spouse of her own who sells her famous honey to buy food for the small army of orphaned children that shows up on her front porch every morning for breakfast. and these are the kinds of things she'd call them. perfection.)

SOMETHING'S NOT RIGHT IS OUT!
“A quietly fantastical wonderland of creatures, queerness, and possibility.” — Max Franciscovich @goose-books, author of Night Shift
The debut collection returns in a special fifth anniversary edition, repackaged with three new short stories, a new cover, and additional bonus content! A vampire is forced into a compromising situation; a father fears his child's growing plant collection; the undead go to high school; a butcher contemplates whether or not she can be loved. In a captivating debut, yves. opens the door to our world, slightly askew—where the crows work for witches and telephone booths serve as secret channels for prophecy; where a diverse cast of monsters and humans alike are forced to contend with what the world believes is right.
Thank you to everyone who made my weird uncategorizable "Lemony Snicket meets Carmen Maria Machado" speculative fiction an instant bestseller! If you’ve ever felt like a monster, this book is for you.

I got outed this year because of this, I hope we'll know better than to do this to someone else next year.

Hey guyyyyys…
If all goes well, I should be able to publish 7 Days for Fae in the next month or two!! This is my figuring things out book so I am still working on people knowing it exists, which currently means (1) hoping the local bookstore approves my request to order it, (2) letting my therapist recommend it to parents she knows, and (3) posting about it here.
I haven’t talked about it much on tumblr because I was done with the first few drafts before I found writeblr, so if you don’t remember it’s this one:
Tumblr media
A middle grade book about a 10-year-old autistic girl (who also has a neurological disability) navigating life as she struggles in school, makes a new friend, tests her own limits, and has to find a way to communicate with her well-meaning but ignorant aunt. Featuring supportive parents and a b-plot about her nonbinary parent and the adults who are weird about that.
Most of my writing buddies on here are more in the adult genre of interests, but I would really appreciate people sharing this post so that parents or teachers or anyone interested might see it. (Follow me for updates or if you don’t want to be following me feel free to send me a message/ask to be told when it is available)

ten short hymns representing a doomed sense of being
i. look at your hands. you are the weapon, you always have been.
ii. o my swineherd, o my swine. this is boyhood and they will kill you with it. it is not yours to begin with, you have to fight for it. you fight for it to be turned against and you know why. you crave difference.
iii. you are not soft, you are not strong either. have you ever seen a fossil? you are an imprint of what you used to be.
iv. all my wounds say the same thing. they tell me this is not how it should be. all my bandages keep them quiet and insist this is how it is.
v. i died in a flood many years ago.
vi. i am a girl falling asleep on the bus. i am the dying dog recognizing his master.
vii. i hurt my back doing a handstand and felt my teeth ache.
viii boyhood is ugly, i crave it. i crave it revoltingly, i sob into my bedsheets and wish i could tear out my flesh from where it doesn’t belong. i am desperate.
ix. i want to hold my friends. i want to have more friends. i do not want to scare people. i would rather scar myself than scare people.
x. let me be soft, lord. my soul is going to eat me someday. until then, let me be soft.

Writblr introduction?
Hello! My name is Felix (he/him). I've been on Tumblr for a while (I have a fanart blog as well elsewhere) but this blog is brand new since I want my original writing separate from my fanart.
I am desperate to make friends with other writers
I have no idea how any of this works and I don't know what I'm doing here, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.
About Me:
• I write high fantasy, usually with LGBT+ themes
• I've been writing seriously since I was 11. Nothing from that era was any good though.
• I really like inserting pets into everything I write.
• My favorite genre of books is epic fantasy, like The Stormlight Archives and The Realm of the Elderlings.
• I am also a huge fan of video games, especially JRPGs.
• I also like anime.
• I'm an amateur artist as well as a writer! I love both art and writing equally.
• I am 20 years old and a bisexual trans man.
• I really really love cats and I have several
• Big fan of tea. All tea. Any tea.
My WIPs:
Honored
Knoron, a mute nobleman and younger brother of the ruler of Varas, a poverty-stricken realm of the Divided North, is arranged by his sister to marry a wealthier woman he doesn't know or love in order to forge a powerful alliance to keep their realm and people from dying. However, he is already in love with his servant, Theri-vin...
Also there is a pet bunny involved.
Genre: Fantasy romance
The King's Spy:
Emeriel had been the King of Brill's spy for most of her life. However, after she is framed for the murder of her lover, the king, and his cunning advisor Arath Soor, rope her back into being a spy in order to let her prove her innocence. However , she gets caught between two nations on the verge of war instead of proving her innocence.
Also there are multiple cats involved. One of which is a religious figure.
Genre: Fantasy mystery
Faded Daisy:
Aster lost her childhood best friend in an occult ritual gone terribly wrong eleven years ago that she swears she had nothing to do with, and ever since, she has erased her past self and all traces of her connection to the ritual, and to her friend. However, the past can't be escaped so easily, and it turns out that the ritual didn't go so wrong after all...
Genre: Dark fantasy
