Summary:
While Merlin and Gwaine attempt to win a bet against Arthur by trying monogamy for a week, Elyan looks to someone new to take the edge off. Elyan finds Lancelot’s unending nobility rather off-putting, but he’s pretty sure he can corrupt him.
The fact that Lancelot is secretly a chaotic dumpster-fire of a human being with a penchant for well-intentioned treason is a source of dramatic irony that’s fun for all--erm, most--ages.
Featuring casual sex, some fun-poking at monogamy, and two storage closets used for two (different) illicit purposes.

"Oi, Gwaine!", Leon shouted over their training course "I found this, there's your name on it!", he showed a bag in his hand, which was roughly as big as a human thigh.
Gwaine walked over to his friend, who gave him the package with wiggling eyebrows "What's inside?", he wanted to know eagerly.
"Back off", Gwaine laughed, but now the other knights got interested as well "Come on, Gwaine!", Percival pleaded, his eyes shimmering innocently like a child's ones would.
Gwaine pressed the bag to his chest though and shook his head vigorously "Nope, no chance. There is my name on it for a reason probably, so I can open it whenever I want."
"I don't think so", Arthur said "As your king I order you to open that myterious package."
Gwaine sighed, rolled his eyes, but opened the bag nontheless, knowing that his friends wouldn't leave him alone anyway. Inside were countless little candy hearts, most of them were a light pink, others had an orange color.
The knights began whistling and snickering when they saw the contents "Gwaine, do you want to tell us something?", asked Elyan, a wide grin on his face.
"No", the other knight answered "Must've been an admirer who left these" - "Don't get your hopes up", Arthur joked, which brought him a slap against the shoulder from Gwaine.
Sighing, after he had seen the looks on everyones faces, Gwaine asked: "Who wants some?" The cheering made him smile though and he wasn't stingy about his sweets.
Now the knights were sitting in a circle, enjoying the sweet goodies and loudly thinking about who could've sent them to Gwaine. Everything was relaxed until Percival asked: "Uh, Gwaine, there's something written on my candy."
"What?", the knight leaned over immediately "It says 'if', oh fuck, does everyone else's candy say something?" All men nodded "Damn it, we already ate at least a quarterof it!", Gwaine sweared
"We can still try to understand the message", Arthur tried to help "Everyone stop eating, put the sweets back and let's find out what they have to say!"
It wasn't easy to read all of it and keep track at the same time, the knights found some keywords though, which made it a little easier.
After half an hour they had... something "How about we write it down on paper?", Lancelot suggested "Every word we know is black, the ones we had to assume are red and words we don't know will be like three dots or something"
"That's a great idea", Leon agreed. Together they got into Arthur's chambers (the biggest ones after all) and tried their best at writing down the puzzle.
After 15 minutes it read:
Dear Gwaine I always watched you only from afar as I was too shy to speak to you but now I have that opportunity. I admire your selfless, kind and funny nature. If you would like to get to know me, meet me at the ... at midnight.
"Shit!", Gwaine sweared "I don't know where to meet them! Why didn't we notice the words sooner!", he looked so devastated that the others immediately felt bad and promised to help him find that secret spot.
"That is so romantic though", Percival said with a smile "Just imagine how much work all of that was and just to meet you." It was close before the night, they only had a few hours left to find out where the location was or Gwaine would probably never hear from his admirer again.
With those words though it was almost like something snapped in Lancelot and he immediately told the others of his thoughts: "You're so right, Percival! That person is really romantic and they want everything to be perfect, but they also don't make it easy for you, probably because it wasn't easy for them either! They could've written a note but they chose to make it a little trickier, maybe because they don't want to be caught from others. This meassge was for you Gwaine,", he looked over to his friend with eyes glistening in excitement "And for you only! They will choose the most romantic place in Camelot! In the castle! Where love always is, where weddings take place and all that! I bet it's the throne room!"
The other knights needed a little time to think about themselves, but Lancelot was right - everything made sense what he had said. "Lancelot, my friend, you're a genius!", Gwaine thanked him and then hurried to get to his own chambers.
"Where are you going?", Leon asked "I'll go fresh myself up!" - "That would be better indeed!", Arthur shouted after him, but Gwaine didn't answer, thinking too hardly about what he was going to wear.
After a shower, brushing his hair, even brushing his teeth again, and putting on the nicest clothes he had, he still had some time to pick up flowers. The market was already closed, so he would have to get them himself, out of the forest.
Never had Gwaine been riding this fast in his life before, but it was worth it: He had found sunflowers, tulips, some typical meadow flowers and even a few small yellow roses.
When he was back in the castle it was a quarter before midnight, and he ran to the throne room as if his life was depending on it. When he got there and opened the door, there was a second of a cold thought crossing his mind: What if this wasn't the right place? But then he saw a person standing in the middle of the room.
A few candles were lightened, and the person wore a cape so Gwaine couldn't see who it actually was. He tried to smoothen his hair a little and then walked up to them. "I got you something", he said in a soft voice. The person, the man, turned around and looked at him a little scared, but Gwaine's smile only deepened and he gave him the flowers.
"I was really happy about the candy", he said and admired the man, who was of average height, his face soft and his eyes looked very sweet - everything of him looked very sweet.
"You're welcome", he said with a slight blush "Thank you for the flowers, they're beautiful" - "Not as beautiful as you", Gwaine flirted, but he was sincere, which made the man a little more flustered.
"I wasn't sure if you would follow my invitation" - "I only realized it was one after me and my friends ate half of it", Gwaine laughed "Oh", the man said "I should've thought about that", a crooked grin formed on his lips.
"That suits you", the knight said "That smile" Now the man's blush got even stronger "Stop it", he demanded and almost hid his face behind the flowers "Never", Gwaine answered and took his hand "Would you perhaps like a walk through Camelot.. with me?" - "I would like that", the man answered with yet another striking smile.
Gwaine then offered his arm, which the man gladly took "I didn't catch your name yet, by any chance" - "Oh, right", the man nodded "I'm (Y/N)" - "Nice to meet you, (Y/N)" - "Likewi-", he tried to answer but Gwaine had already put his lips on his, kissing him softly. (Y/N)'s hands slung around the knight's waist and pulled him a little closer, enjoying what he did.
Right outside the door the knights were grinning approvingly, giving each other fist bumps and shoulder pats. "Alright", Arthur whispered "We should leave them alone now" - "Before we see something we don't want to see", Elyan joked, which got him some muffled laughing, then they let their friend and his new lover be.

Opening:
Messina, Elyan reflected, looked all the more beautiful for him having left it. The blossoms were just beginning to bloom as he trailed his fingers along the branches he passed and the sun seemed more comforting than uncomfortable. His hands shifted from running over branches to unconsciously brushing against his upper ribs and a delicate smile twisted the corner of his mouth. It was still slightly odd to feel so content in a place that had once slowly suffocated him, but Elyan was not going to remind himself of the past. Not when it wouldn’t bring him any joy.
As he ducked beneath the ivy cascading down a doorway, he caught sight of his sister laughing with Sefa from an open window and, unable to resist, hurled a grape up at her. Gwen caught it in one hand without tearing her eyes away from her friend and tossed it back, hitting Elyan squarely in the face. He was about to throw another one when Gwen finished her conversation with Sefa and leaned out of the window, her floral-embroidered braid dangling from the nape of her neck.
