Ray grinded his teeth at the realization that this was the only course of action they had. If not then…

Then Emma would die.

Emma, with scraped knees and a chipped tooth smile against a face stained with freckles. Emma who still raced her siblings to breakfast and pretended to lose. Emma, staying up for hours to learn the morse code in Minerva’s books, falling asleep in the library. Emma with burn marks on her calloused hands. Emma, auburn hair stained with blood, the smoldering house behind them still not quite burning as much as the determination in her eyes.

Emma who got into fights knew she couldn’t win if there was even a chance of saving someone. Emma, promising to strangers she had never even met, that they would all get out of this hunting ground alive.

I don’t care what it takes, Ray vowed as Emma grew colder by the second, so unlike sunlit days dragging him from the shade, with warm smiles and soft blankets and bitter tea and old books.

I won’t let that happen again.

I’m not going to let you die!

lyrics for every chapter come from Heirloom by sleeping at last! worked really hard on this fic, hope u enjoy! (I personally have a bit of a hard time writing emotional stuff especially for side characters that didn’t get that much development but I did my best to stay in character and it was a fun exercise!)

182 Days of TPN - Day 89

Chapter 89: “Convening”

Sigh, imagine how cool this entrance could’ve been animated.. from hearing the loud gun shot as Leuvis’ mask smashes into several pieces to Emma looking up and finally seeing the boys as all the smoke clears up. No doubt whichever track they would chose to play here at this moment would fit perfectly.

Definitely prefer Leuvis with his mask on, no question about it. It’s not even about all the veins (although it is still kinda gross to see) but how this one panel neglects his menacing teeth. I know this dude is a thousand years old or whatever but it makes him look like such a creepy grandpa.

Thankfully this ain’t the last time he falls for this kind of attack either. Also really love how excited Emma is that the flash bomb was effective. It’s such a cute panel of her!

Not really important, but I always pictured Violet being the one who covered Emma’s eyes. Yeah it seems as if only Lucas, Oliver and Emma are in the room during this chat, but the hands in question can’t possibly be Lucas nor Oliver since the sleeves are different. Or they could just be imaginary and be a visual for us readers, I dunno. It’s just something I see Violet doing regardless.

This demon is so resourceful, using his own broken mask for his next attack. He pulls it off so quickly while basically blind and over such a wide range too.

Although the sudden second attack really sucks for Pepe, I can’t help but be impressed by it how well planned it was. Of course I’m gonna give Ray praise as well for figuring out how Leuvis managed to pull off the swift counter.

Not only does Leuvis tear down the building with just his hands, but also while one is completely busted up. I doubt he’s feeling any pain since he’s still regenerating and completely caught up in all the fun he’s having to even notice. I’d love to hear that maniacal laugh of his though. And bless Emma for dragging Pepe to safety on her own.

Favorite panel/moment:

The amount on relief on her face makes me so soft. She’s beyond happy they’re both unharmed and probably equally as surprised that someone like Yuugo even cared this much to help her.

I also love how brief that moment of comfort lasts. Of course it’s reassuring to have both boys arrive as backup, but it’s not an overly dramatic or heartfelt reunion either. Yeah they were only apart for one really stressful day so no big, wholesome reunion was necessarily needed, but that’s what I like about it here. For now everyone here knows that defeating Leuvis takes priority and remains focused on the battle at hand. Even when Emma & Ray have a moment to chat after everyone takes cover, their interactions are completely business. (We do get a warm reunion in ch96 though and that’s worth the wait.)

More importantly.. the cover to volume 11 is the ABSOLUTE BEST and no one can ever convince me otherwise!! A big fan of all the glass shards and flying bullets, not to mention that the colors are STUNNING and she looks PERFECT in every way imaginable.. I am completely in love with EVERYTHING about THIS! 100% my absolute favorite cover! AAHH!

I’m surprised it took me this long to realize just HOW MUCH PROMISED NEVERLAND MEDIA I’VE CONSUMED OVER THE YEARS AND HOW MANY STRONG OPINIONS I HAVE ABOUT IT

LET’S START FIRST AND FOREMOST: I actually did like the anime’s second season! At least for a couple episodes lmao- like the forest chase scene with Ray and those demon guys was kinda fire. That wasn’t in the manga, but I was so invested that it didn’t matter. The scenes with Mujika and Sonju were pretty much ripped from the manga, so no complaints there. Also teaching Emma how to use a bow and arrow? Along with the lil blood flowers? Amazing. Phenomenal. The problem was that development of TPN season 2 was in the middle CockBig-19, so the writers probably had shitty working conditions, low funds, and just general shit that made it impossible to make good shit in the anime industry. BUT IMAGINE IF IT WASN’T!!! OH, WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN!!! IF HUGO HAD BEEN IN THAT BUNKER LIKE HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE, WE COULD’VE HAD THE GREATEST ANIME ADAPTATION TO EVER BE RELEASED!! BUT HE WASN’T, AND THAT’S WHAT PISSES ME OFF. HOW ARE THE KIDS SUPPOSED TO GET TO GOLDY POND WITHOUT BUNKER DAD??? WHERE IS GOLDY POND??? HANDS DOWN THE BEST ARC OF THE SERIES IS JUST…. GONE??? WHERE’S OUR BELOVED BUNKER DADS REUNION??? WHERE’S VIOLET??? THE FIGHT WITH DUKE LEWIS???? WHERE’S OLIVER AND NIGEL AND PEPE AND GILLIAN??? WHERE THE FUCK IS DUKE LEWIS??!!!!!?? WE WERE ROBBED, NEVERLAND FANS, AND YOU KNOW IT! (I know this happened in like early 2021 but I’m still not over it and never will be)

Imagine the fanbase crossover potential that could have been!! Like Barbieheimer, but with Demon Slayer and The Promised Neverland if they released seasons at a similar time. (I’ve deemed it Demon/Demon.) Demon Slayer is wonderful, and I’ve loved every second of it. But a part of me internally cries at how one Demon series got adapted into a beloved series and the other is just… mediocre. We didn’t deserve this, man :(

Anyways that’s my TedTalk. Give TPN another chance Crunchyroll- you can keep Isabella imprisoned as a little treat but please please PLEASE GIVE US A NEW SEASON 2 IDK HOW YOU WOULD REWRITE AN ENTIRE SEASON AND PRETEND IT DIDN’T HAPPEN BUT CAN YOU MAKE IT HAPPEN?? JUST AS A ONE TIME THING??? I’LL STOP SHITTING ON YOUR PRACTICES AND THE FACT YOU HAVEN’T GIVEN US OHSHC CONTENT IN 17 YEARS I PROMISE

Okay so I don’t blame you for not being able to find that post, it also took me a whole second of scrolling through my blog but here it is.

Anyway now I can’t get drag Queen Pepe out of MY head so I snatched an outfit from Bob the Drag Queen and BOOM here’s Pepe (and Bob)

About halfway through I suddenly remembered I can’t draw clothes which is why I unfortunately did not even attempt the full outfit (I just think you should see the OG too it’s pretty fucking neat)

But also bonus Vincent and Sandy cheering Pepe on and I AGREE with you on that YouTube video it’s so fucking good,,,,
