Girls’ Baseball Anime ‘Tamayomi’ Now Streaming

The anime adaptation of Mountain Pukuichi’s sports series, Tamayomi, is now streaming on Funimation with English subtitles. The television series premiered on April 1, 2020 onKBC, AT-X, ABC, Tokyo MX, and Nayoga TV. The show was simulcast on Funimation the same day under the name TAMAYOMI: The Baseball Girls.

Tamayomi follows Yomi Takeda, a girl who previously played baseball in middle school but eventually becomes disinterested and leaves the sport. However, when she encounters her childhood friend, Tamaki Yamazaki, the two decide to play baseball again as they did in childhood, with the goal of taking their high school’s baseball club to the top.

The anime is directed by Toshinori Fukushima and produced at Studio A-Cat. The opening theme is “Never Let You Go” by Naho and the ending theme is “Plus Minus Zero Rule” performed by the cast. The show stars Kaori Maeda as Yomi Takeda and Satomi Amano as Tamaki Yamazaki.

A new key visual for the upcoming sports TV anime series “Tamayomi” has been been published. It is slated to air in April 2020.

“In her Junior High years, the pitcher Yomi Takeda was not able to get very far in a cross-school baseball tournament. Since the catcher on her team wasn’t at her level, she couldn’t use her signature move, the “Magic Throw,” and eventually regretted not being able to use it. After Junior High, she decided to stop playing baseball and went to Shin Koshigaya High School, a school without a baseball club. There, she found her long lost childhood friend, Tamaki Yamazaki, who used to play catchball with her when they were kids. Tamaki also played baseball during her Junior High years as a catcher, and could even catch Yomi’s “Magic Throw!” Their promise with each other during their childhood could now be fulfilled! Walking together on the road of baseball once again… The story of the girls who love baseball will begin! “

Original TV Anime Skate-Leading Stars 2nd PV Introduces Its 15 Main Characters & OP Song

    The official website for the forthcoming figure skating-themed original TV anime Skate-Leading Stars has started streaming a 100-second second PV to introduce its 15 main characters. J.C. Staff (A Certain Magical Index, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?)'s original work depicts high school students competing in a fictional figure skating team competition called "Skate-Leading." The anime was originally set for July 2020 but has been postponed to January 2021 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

  Toshinori Fukushima (MAJOR) is attched to direct, along with the general director Goro Taniuchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) and the original character designer Yana Toboso (Black Butler manga series). 

  The anime's OP theme song "Chase the core" featured in the clip is sung by the ex-Fo'xTails singer Takao Sakuma. It will be released as his solo singer debut single on January 13, 2021.

    Synopsis:

  "You'll never beat me." Kensei Maeshima quit figure skating after the words from his rival Reo Shinozaki. A few years later, when Maeshima becomes a high school student, he makes use of his motor nerves to spent his days as a helper in various club activities without devoting himself to anything. One day, he watches a press conference in which his rival Shinozaki switches from a single skater to Skate-Leading, an original figure skate team competition. Then, a boy named Hayato Sasugai appears in front of him. He also seems to know that Maeshima had previously performed as a single skater, and invites him to the world of Skate-Leading, saying "I need you."

Skate-Leading Stars, svelati cast e staff della serie animata

Il nuovo anime originale targato J.C.Staff andrà in onda da luglio.

Pubblicati una nuova immagine promozionale e un video, i quali ci presentano il cast di “Skate-Leading Stars”, la nuova serie originale animata dallo studio J.C.Staff (Danmachi, Hi Score Girl, Food Wars!) che debutterà in Giappone quest’anno a luglio.  

L’anime sarà incentrato su degli studenti delle superiori che competono a squadre in delle gare di skate-leading, una particolare forma di pattinaggio artistico. Il direttore generale del progetto è Goro Taniguchi, regista di “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion”, “Maria the Virgin Witch” e “Planetes”, mentre il character design di base è concepito da Yana Toboso, l’autrice del manga “Black Butler”.

It has been 30 years since the first Kaiju attacked. It took 7 days to finish the monstrous threat but 6 cities around the Pacific were destroyed in the process.

The whole world grieved & swore that a catastrophe like this should never happen again.

The United Nations launched an expedition around the Pacific to investigate the cause & origins of these Kaiju.

The expedition went on for 3 years. Fortunately, the expedition has been fruitful and an interdimensional breach has been found at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.

Weeks later, the world is still in endless talks about what actions to take with regards to this breach. Another Kaiju appeared.

Unfortunately, the same disaster happened. The world was now convinced that whoever sends these Kaiju won't stop until the human race has been wiped out.

Nations around the world set aside their differences and united against this common foe for the survival of the human race.

After conferences and researches that took 6 months, the world was certain that only monsters can kill monsters and the Jaeger project was born.

Piloting a Jaeger has serious repurcussions on the human brain if only one pilot does so. It is now primary protocol that 2 pilots will mind-meld with a giant robot.

12 months later, the first Jaeger protype, Brave Destro was created. With its pilots called Rangers about to be selected.

And on Brave Destro's first sortie 6 months later, humanity earned its first victory. And in turn, started the series of battles with mostly ending in humanity's victories.

The United Nations and the other nations who joined the fight for humanity's survival decided to create the Pan Pacific Defense Corps and the Jaeger Academy, the institution to train and recruit future Rangers and PPDC officers and staff.

They also build the Shatterdome, the HQ of PPDC and the Jaeger Academy in Musutafu Islands, Japan (near Okinawa).

At this age, the greatest Jaeger in history is The All Might with its Rangers, Yagi Toshinori and Shimura Nana with 54 drops, 54 kills but was already retired 6 years ago after the historical battle at Fukushima.

The new generation of Jaegers and Rangers are about to take the stage.

Yaoyorozu Momo has always been fascinated by Jaegers.

Perhaps it's only natural since her father was a lead engineer in Jaeger production & her mother was a genius neurologist who was among the scientist who developed the drift Jaeger tech. Her parents met & fell in love while developing Jaegers.

Her parents are protective of her and tried to influence her in avoiding a Jaeger pilot's life. But deep inside, Momo has always wondered how it's like in the drift and dreamed of piloting a Jaeger to save people.

Todoroki Shouto is from a family of Rangers. His parents were co-pilots of one of the best Jaegers in history, Endeavor Absolute with 44 drops, 44 kills before retiring 13 years ago.

His brothers were also co-pilots of the Jaeger, Absolute Blaze with 10 drops, 9 kills. His sister Fuyumi, though was a simple primary school teacher because her stats are incompatible with drift technology.

Todoroki Enji is now among the commanders of the Pan Pacific Defense Corps Shatterdome, along with Toshinori and other retired pilots.

Today, Momo and Shouto are in one of the kwoons with she observing and taking notes while he looks rather tired and bored in another day of searching for his new co-pilot.

Well this happened. And tbh, I'm not sure if anyone will be interested and this might turn out crappy. But this has been on my mind ever since I've watched the first trailer of Pacific Rim: Uprising last October. I never got around writing it till mid January. At that time, I was hoping I could post this for the todomomo week but irl stuff didn't let me. And also, sorry for the abrupt ending here. The next parts are more relevant to part 2 so I included those there.

Girls Playing Baseball Anime ‘Tamayomi’ Information Released

The upcoming anime adaptation of the baseball series Tamayomi published additional information about the series on their official website on August 5 and announced that the tv anime would start broadcasting in the Spring of 2020.

The anime series, which is adapted from the manga of the same name serialized in Manga Time Kirara Forward written by Mountain Pukuichi (Nana Yuri) was originally announced in June. It tells the story of Yomi Takeda, a girl who previously played baseball in middle school but eventually becomes disinterested and leaves the sport. However, when she encounters her childhood friend, Tamaki Yamazaki, the two decide to play baseball again as they did in childhood, with the goal of taking their high school’s baseball club to the top.

    The official website for the forthcoming figure skating-themed original TV anime Skate-Leading Stars has started streaming a 65-second first PV to announce its premiere in Japan in July 2020. L’anime tratto dal manga di Mountain Pukuichi andrà in onda da aprile 2020.

Aperto il sito ufficiale per la serie animata basata sul manga “Tamayomi” di Mountain Pukuichi, svelando sia una prima immagine promozionale dell’anime, che i membri principali dello staff al lavoro sull’adattamento che sbarcherà sulle tv giapponesi ad aprile 2020. 

Il progetto sta venendo prodotto presso Studio A-CAT (Amazing Stranger) e diretto da Toshinori Fukushima (Major S3-6). La sceneggiatura è curata da Touko Machida (A Centaur's Life, Harukana Receive), mentre il character design è ad opera di Kouichi Kikuta (KonoSuba).

La storia ruota attorno a Yomi Takeda, giovane giocatrice di baseball capace di lanci portentosi. Appena iscrittasi alle scuole superiori ritrova Tamaki Yamazaki, una sua amica d’infanzia con la quale aveva perso i contatti, anche lei appassionata di baseball e ottima ricevitrice. Assieme cercheranno di formare una nuova grande squadra per l’istituto!

Lo slice of life sportivo viene serializzato sulle pagine della rivista Manga Time Kirara Forward dall’aprile del 2016 e, ad ora, la casa editrice Houbunsha ne ha raccolto i vari capitoli in cinque volumi, il più recente uscito lo scorso 12 marzo.
