Written for Several Sunlit Daylights, the Taylor Swift x Hinny Collab we all need, organised by @ginwiz
Prompt: Use Taylor Swift lyrics as part of your dialogue There are so many good lyrics it was hard to choose!
Harry had been scarily silent the last few days. During Fred’s funeral he did not mutter a word. Today they were all at Andromeda’s house after Remus and Tonks’ funeral.
Most people were inside, it looked like it would rain but Harry was outside, leaning on the fence and staring into the distance. Ginny handed the blue-haired baby to her mother and stepped outside. She walked up to him and leaned against the fence too, carefully glancing at Harry. Tears were streaming down his face as he contained his sobs.
He made no attempt to hide his tears and sniffed.
“Harry…”
“I’m fine, really,” he said with a shake of his head. “I feel it’s entirely wrong. Fred died, Remus died, Tonks died. Teddy doesn’t have parents for fucks’ sake. And I am looking at you.” He smiled through his tears. “I am looking at you and you handle all those people with such grace, you know what to say and you just scoop Teddy into your arms like he’s your godchild and I find this precise moment to figure out that I am free to love you, it won’t get you killed and I don’t have to die.” His voice broke as he sniffed again and his watery eyes fell on her. “I love you, isn’t that the worst thing you’ve ever heard?”
Harry sunk down to the ground and folded into himself, his head in his arms.
Ginny wiped the tears on her own cheeks away and sat down beside him. Her hand landed on his arm. She took a deep breath.
“Can I let you in on a secret? I love you, always have.”
Harry turned his head to look at her. “Not like this. You didn’t used to love me like this.”
She offered him a watery smile. “That’s true.”
“Why doesn’t it feel like we won this war like everyone says we did?” Harry asked.
“Because we didn’t.” She looked back at the house where most of her family was. “We survived it, but to the rest it is all the same. And you have lost more to it than anyone.”
“I lost you too,” Harry said.
Ginny scooted a little closer. “You didn’t lose me, not anymore. I am here, you’re here. We will figure it out. We’re going to help out with Teddy and tell him what a great professor his dad was and how his mom was the coolest person I knew. We’re going to help George open up the Wizard Wheezes again. And we live … because we survived. You get to live.”
Harry nodded and wiped his tears. Ginny handed him a tissue.
“Do you want to hold Teddy before we go home?” she asked softly.
Harry looked a bit hesitant.
“Harry, you are not going to drop him.” She stood up and pulled him up too.
“How did you…?”
“It’s the number one fear when holding a baby for the first time.” She took his two hands. “You’ve got steady hands, you’ll be alright.”
Harry’s hands wrapped around her own. “You’re so good with Teddy.”
“It’s the Prewett maternal instinct, I think.” She let go of his hands and stepped away.
“Really?”
Ginny turned back around. “No, you doofus. Babies are adorable and I want to squish them.”
“Don’t think it’s allowed to call people a doofus during funerals,” Harry said.
“Well, stop being one and I will stop calling you one.” She walked back up to him. “You are my doofus, now let’s go inside and hold your godchild and tell him about his fun auntie Ginny.” She took his hand and pulled him towards the house.

Hi Sam, I’ve noticed in the HP series there seems to be a lack of female friendships, why do you think that is? For example Lily is said to have friends in her 5th year but we don’t know who they are and was she close to Marlene or Alice? Why didn’t any of them reach out to Harry? Ginny is said to be popular but who are her friends? Because there’s nothing mentioned. Then there’s Hermione (I know you don’t care for her but hear me out) who is only friends with Ron and Harry, I find it odd that she didn’t connect with any other female in her year or her dorm mates. Tonks too, like didn’t she have any friends she could talk to about her problems besides Molly? I love Molly but I find it odd she went to her and not her own girlfriends. Also, Luna… besides Ginny and her being somewhat friend, did she really not have any friend at all? Like no one else who was intrigued by magical creatures bonded with Luna? Or appreciated her blunt answers? Because she’s fucken hilarious and so damn loyal. That brings me to the last person, Molly. Just because she’s a stay at home mom of 7, doesn’t mean she didn’t have any friends or female friends. I know not women has a big group of female friends but at least one or two girlfriends to lean on would have been nice. Especially since we see a lot of male bonding and friendships throughout HP series.
Honestly, I don’t know why. You see it a lot in fanfiction too, especially writers who eliminate females altogether. Lily and Ginny seem to be being erased in favor of Jegulus and Drarry. In fact, the amount of times I’ve seen Jegulus raise Harry (which makes zero sense) is just disappointing. How can you love the series when eliminating the one ship that made it all happen?!? You rarely see writers writing about Lily and her friends (though I guess I’m guilty of this too because I love those Marauder boys and I have yet to do a Lily POV and I don’t know why I haven’t.)
I can say that Ginny deserves and would have a great girl friend group. Which is why I gave her one in Brumous because so many people don’t because there’s no definite named girl characters in her year. But she’s social and funny and she definitely would have a girl friend group and I’m so excited to show their antics when I get to that part.
Lily too deserves a nice friend group as well. Some girls who helped her see how awful Snape was (because there’s no way she didn’t start to feel disappointed in their friendship and the way he treated her slowly over the years). She needed a good group in Gryffindor to be her supporters. I like Marlene, Dorcas, and Mary being her friend group. I don’t see Alice. She was an Auror, not a trainee or anything like that, so I always assumed she was older than the Marauders era. Having Marlene and Dorcas dead explains why they never came around for Harry. Mary, well, I don’t know. While I never read ATYD, I’ve seen enough TikToks about it to know that Mary Obliviates herself at the end to forget the pain of everything that happened. I kind of like that. In Petrichor, I have her moving away to another country to escape (though I don’t think I ever explicitly said that but it’s in my notes).
Hermione and Luna I could see not having a girl friend group. Hermione’s personality isn’t really desirable. I never would be her friend as a teenager or as an adult. She’s just freaking annoying and not the best person. Luna, while I would be a friend of hers because she’s quirky and fun, I could see teenage girls snubbing her and picking on her. Girls are mean. Especially teenage girls.
Tonks probably has a lot of guy friends given her job as it’s probably very male oriented. Plus it’s not like she could say “hey, I’m having issues with this werewolf I’m crushing on” because most people would be horrified given how people treat werewolves in the series.
Molly was raising 7 kids so that’s hard to meet and maintain friendships. Plus, it’s just hard making friends as an adult. Or maybe that’s just me. It’s exhausting and you have no time and I want to be a hermit at the end of the day. So I imagine after raising 7 kids, she’d just want to curl up under a blanket and relax after a long day of parenting.

@rozecrest this was just easier but im so glad you liked it!
honestly you can't go wrong with any of his albums.
Purgatory is hilariously strong from start to finish and has these tracks which i love (i love the whole album but, in order)
I Swear (To God)
Feathered Indians
Tattoos
Purgatory
Universal Sound
Lady May
Live at Red Barn Radio I & II in absolute entirety tbh but the usual standouts are here
Shake the Frost
Deadman's Curve
Charleston Girl
Rock Salt and Nails
Follow You To Virgie (oof, about his mom, its a hard listen some days but FUCK its good.)
Bottles and Bibles
Country Squire was a mild style change-up, a little more honky-tonk. it's got some great tracks on it but it was also a mild writing departure for him as well, focusing a little more on country tropes and a LOT more tongue in cheek (the song Ever Lovin' Hand is a masturbation joke wrapped in a song about missing the person you love a lot). probably his weakest album? but:
Creeker
House Fire
Peace of Mind
All Your'n
Long Violent History is a kinda cool album, it's all instrumentals, old school holler jams and stuff. kinda hard to get into unless you're from that kinda thing i would assume? just reminds me of when i was a kid at thanksgiving and christmas back when we still spoke to my dad's side, and he and my uncles and one of my aunts would all get together and jam on some old gospel and bluegrass tunes. everybody brought instruments.... ah well. but i digress. you can take me out of the country but ill always be a big tomboy butch who gets a little too excited around jacked up trucks of a specific set of years, or the smell of gas and oil in the morning.
Can I Take My Hounds To Heaven i admittedly completely checked out on because i was deep in covid depression throes so i can't and won't comment because it won't be an accurate representation so.
Rustin' In The Rain I still haven't taken time to fully check out, as im working through a music backlog, but.
In Your Love is an incredible song and go watch the video because it cut me deep as fuck. i know a lot of people still stuck in those mines and i have friends with family members dying today because of coal companies. and im a trans woman from backwoods VA with all my roots in Appalachia from both sides (we had a handful of bootleggers in the family, explains a lot tbh). song hit me hard, in a good way.
anyway! im sorry! thank you for listening to me ramble about an artist i really enjoy! one of these days i should really just start a podcast called "Nobody Asked" and it's just me screaming into a microphone about stuff like this!
like dave matthews! like yeah i get it "ha ha dad rock" but come on!
Live at Radio City with Tim Reynolds is a fucking MONSTER album! and dave is a good guy! or at minimum is actually worthy of supporting because the dude has been doing activist things quietly and loudly for longer than ive been alive! and their music spans so many genres!
Eh Hee
Bartender
Still Water / Don't Drink The Water (back to back! they must be listened to together! please listen to this and Bartender off Live at Radio City)
#41
Two Step
Satellite
Some Devil
Grace Is Gone
and thats not even touching a fraction of this man's catalogue, he's been making music for forty something years
ahain im sorry i just really really love music and GAH theres so many artists from my chilhood and teen years and stuff that get so undeservedly swept under a rug because... i really don't know why. i feel like a lot of artists immediately get written off because of styles or genres or whatever and thats just so unfair and upsets ke geeatly.
that's not directed at you whatsoever rozecrest to be clear lmao sorry it may have come off that way
also anyone who has an interest in bluegrass/gospel go listen to The Seldom Scene's "Old Train" and "Live at the Cellar Door" in their entirety

The HP characters in therapy is such a great idea. These have all been so interesting and thoughtful.
If you're not totally over this exercise, I'd be curious about Percy and/or HBP era Tonks...
Percy answered here
HBP era Tonks!
So the thing with Tonks is she’s actively fighting a war here as a vigilante fighter slash Auror. She’s very busy. Her mom’s sister just killed her first-cousin-once-removed. She (if we’re going with canon) has this huge crush on a man chock-full of depression and self-loathing, and she’s quite depressed herself.
I’m inclined to go behavioral here. I don’t think this is the time to do any sort of insight oriented work or deep family trauma processing. I would want to use sessions to work with her on what is doable to implement in her life to add some stability.
Yes, her Auror slash vigilante jobs probably have odd hours and involve a lot of high-stress night work, but can we get somewhat close to a regular sleep schedule? Or at least include some naps? And make sure she sees the sun every day if her schedule becomes more nocturnal? Also, how much and when and what is she eating? Can we figure out a schedule for that too and make sure she gets regular meals?
Is there a person she feels safe enough to talk to about her feelings or nothing at all and NOT about the war and tragedy and doom? (I hc it’s her dad.) Can we make sure to schedule in some regular time for that?
Is there some sort of music/movement/art thing she can access – even for 15 minutes a day? It’s ok if there’s not, but I’d want to see what’s potentially available. Anything to get a little connection to what used to bring her joy.
Idk what wizarding mood stuff is available, but maybe they’re into drinking St. John’s Wort tea. Let’s throw that in too if she’s into it.
Plus, yes, crushes that make one sad tend to take up a lot of therapy space, and using therapy to vent and validate feelings would be useful, but within the scaffolding of setting up sleep + sun + food + connection + music/movement/art.

Everybody talks about the fucked up nature of Cho Chang, the Patil twins, and Kingsley Shacklebolt but I don't think I've ever heard somebody talk about how definitely fucked up the background of Dean Thomas (one of the only canonically black characters) being he doesn't know whether his dad is a wizard or not because his dad dipped out on his mom before he was even born. And thats why hes on the run with Ted Tonks in Deathly Hallows. Cus hes not sure of his parentage. Like really?
I think that was my first clue that JKR wasn't the greatest person probably. Like it raised major red flags for me and I'm not even black my dudes. She had TWO semi major black characters and this is what she decided to do with one of them.
Anyways in my head, Dean's dad was a wizard. He was super pumped to be a dad and was going to ask Dean's mom to marry him but he was a major player in the Order of the Phoenix so he was targeted by the Death Eaters. The only reason people haven't connected him and Dean together is because he's a few years older than the Mauraders so he didn't run in that circle. Dumbledore also didn't clock it because Dean's dad was smart enough to know his girl friend was better protected at that moment if no one in the Wizarding world knew about her and the baby. He was so excited to be a dad. He had definitely talked to his parents about getting whatever object wizarss pass down for engagements so they knew something was coming they just didnt know who (again he was being cautios, he wanted so badly to protect them). In the end he was devastated that his child would never know about his great Wizarding family but maybe he would be safe.
Dean Thomas finds out after the war through some wizard 23 and me and gets to meet that family.
Fuck JKR

Previous Part | (Series Masterlist)
Tumblr media
The day hadn’t even truly begun and Mrs. Weasley was already crying. This wedding was technically the true big day— made evident by the giant tent outside. You had gotten up to help before Ginny pushed you down onto the couch. Bill had been forced to lay down on the floor right in front of you. Both of you had those spa cucumbers over your eyes and were told not to move from your spots.
You could hear the commotion around you, tempted to get up and look. Bill felt himself get pulled away first by Fred and George to get dressed. Your mom, who hated apparating as much as you did, came to get you so you could get into your wedding dress.
Bill adjusted his tie. “Is it weird we’re already married but now I’m nervous?”
George clapped him on the shoulder. “This time it’s in front of everybody… Aunt Muriel’s already here.”
Bill turned. “She is?”
“Yep, harassing your wife probably.”
Right after those words left George’s mouth, they heard squealing and clapping. Their Great Aunt Muriel, indeed, was upstairs but instead of harassing you she was doting on you. Bill getting married first, you in a traditional dress, your family seeming nice and respectable, you not being into curse-breaking like your husband made Muriel a very happy woman. She didn’t talk the entire ceremony as she sat with Mrs. Weasley, both of them crying the entire time.
The reception was lively. So many wizards in one area made for a very festive time. All of them were starting to see why Bill fell in love with you. The way you were still so entertained with magic had everyone trying to show off their tricks. Some of your wedding gifts were things you had never seen before. Both of you were being handed off to random family members and guests to talk to them. Bill turned his head when Remus and Tonks pointed at you. Luna Lovegood and her father had introduced you to a very strange dance that you were now doing with them.
“She would become good friends with the Lovegoods,” Tonks said.
You strolled over to them, wrapping your arms around Bill. “Honey, Xenophilius has the weirdest but most charming little dance.”
“I saw,” he said before pecking your lips.
Remus and Tonks weren’t sure if they should leave the two of you alone or not. There was a way that you always looked at each other— it reminded them of themselves. You were about to drag your three unsuspecting victims to the dance floor when a bright ball of light floated into the large tent. A deep voice rang out.
“The Ministry has fallen, Scrimgeour is dead. They are coming.”
Bill immediately looked down at you tucked under his arm. It was already dangerous to have a wedding during these times but you did so anyway because everyone needed one happy thing in their life. But if any of Voldemort’s followers got a whiff of the fact that you were a muggleborn, Bill was sure they’d kill you. He pushed you towards Remus as the first scream echoed in the tent.
“There’s a portkey upstairs.”
The tent was a mess as people grabbed their wands and tried to run. People were too scared to apparate. If the Ministry had fallen then maybe Voldemort was monitoring apparating just like the old Ministry did. They didn’t want to risk getting followed home without knowing. Remus took your hand and you both started running back to the house. A shout left your mouth and you ducked as a stream of orange light went over your head. Remus briefly turned when he heard Bill yell.
“The closet! It’s a hat!”
It was Arthur’s idea to have a portkey, several actually. He had just left the house after showing your parents the portkey in the kitchen that went back to their home in America. There was no way that they were leaving the newest muggle additions to their family to the mercy of Voldemort and his followers. Remus practically pushed you into the house before turning when you said to watch out. You rushed upstairs as he fought to keep a Death Eater from entering the house. The scenery went from chaos to calm as you found yourself in some cottage.
You looked outside the window to see nothing but sand and waves. Wherever Bill sent you, it was quaint. There was nothing to do but sit and wait. You fiddled with your wedding ring. When half an hour went by, you tried to calm your nerves and decided to change out of your dress. You explored the first floor, stopping when you saw a picture right before the kitchen entrance. There were more Weasleys than you could fathom.
This must have been the Shell Cottage that Bill was so excited to take you home to. It certainly was nice— the sound of the ocean was beautiful. Moving upstairs, you entered the largest room where there was already a trunk of stuff. It wasn’t everything, a small collection with half of your stuff and half of Bill’s. You ran back downstairs when you heard noise. Bill was almost caught off guard when you ran to him. He kissed you about a thousand times before relaxing.
“Did you save their pets?” Bill laughed out.
“Oh, hush,” you muttered as you opened Hedwig and Pigwidgeon’s cages. Crookshanks meowed in what you hoped was appreciation when you opened his little carrier.
Your husband pecked your lips one more time before going outside. Bill had his father as Secret Keeper but after everything, he didn’t trust Shell Cottage to be safe on that alone. You watched him put up every protection charm in existence. Bill walked in, satisfied enough. He took a quick shower before coming back downstairs. He didn’t want you out of his sight or hold for too long.
You looked around as the two of you relaxed on the couch. There would be some work needed to make Shell Cottage your own but that could be saved for another day. Bill just pressed a kiss to your temple. There was a war happening around them and he was concerned about what if he failed to keep you safe.

Character ask for Minerva McGonagall, Alastor Moody, Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, Molly Weasley, Albus Dumbledore and... Mundungus Fletcher, why not
From this ask game
Oh boy, HP characters!
Go grocery shopping with - Molly! I'd love to help her do her shopping for her enormous family, and I bet you anything she would help me find good deals on what I need, with some excellent life advice thrown in too. And she would just be such warm, homey company, as if I were shopping with my mom.
Have lunch with - I think Professor Lupin would be a great person to have lunch with. Lupin knows how to make you feel comfortable and seen, and he's great at listening. The conversation would be so interesting; he could tell me all about interesting magical creatures or useful little spells. I don't know if he'd feel comfortable discussing this or not, but I would also love to hear more about his experiences as a werewolf, and what his daily life is like. Maybe he could tell some stories about good times with the other Marauders. Maybe I'd ask him how he and Tonks met. All in all, I think lunch with him would just be warm and cozy. Hopefully we could schedule it during a good phase of the moon.
Have coffee with - Sirius Black! No, not as a date. I have no idea what we'd talk about, but it would just be really cool to meet him. I've always felt drawn to his protective uncle/older brother vibes, and if somehow in this hypothetical scenario I were friends with Harry, I think we'd be comfortable with each other. Maybe we'd break the ice by talking about him first. Maybe, in the end, we'd just sit in silence, but that would be okay too.
Go thrift shopping with - Okay...to be completely honest, I don't think I'd want to go anywhere with Mundungus Fletcher, but this is as good an option as any, I guess. He probably knows all the best places and how to get great deals from the back rooms where most people wouldn't be allowed. The only trouble would be getting him out of the place without shoplifting anything of value.
Explore a museum/art gallery/aquarium with - Originally, I was going to pick Lupin for this one. While I do think he'd be a good pick, it would also be interesting to go on a field trip, of sorts, with Moody. I'm not sure exactly what kind of museum we'd go to - do wizards have museums? Maybe it would be a history museum of some kind, and Moody would be able to tell me about all the secret magical side of historical events I thought I knew all about. It would be kind of scary to be around someone like Moody, what with his eye swiveling all over the place, and he'd probably keep me on my toes with his gruff manners and occasional cries of "CONSTANT VIGILANCE!" But I bet I'd learn a lot.
Go the library/bookstore with - Professor McGonagall would be an excellent companion to the bookstore. I would be very intimidated by her, but I bet she could give great reading recommendations. She'd probably also accompany that with mini-lectures on anything touching upon her field of study, but like...that would be super interesting too!
Have as a plus-one at a wedding - Okay...I doubt this would be most people's choice...but I can't escape the thought of accompanying Professor Dumbledore to a wedding. For one thing, there wouldn't be the slightest worry about anyone taking anything the wrong way or unrealistic expectations or anything - it would be like going to a wedding with my grandpa. Also, Dumbledore is just so funny and unpredictable and witty and knowledgeable about so many things! It would be so fun to sit at a table with him during the reception and just listen to his conversation, or share little jokes with him. Also, we know that he likes to dance, and I could definitely see him coaxing me out onto the dance floor to dance some silly, improvised dance or teach me some incredibly outdated ballroom dance from his youth or something.

Bad news
Warning : minor character death, mention of death, angst, comfort and fluff.
"Honey, I'm home!" Harry said, putting his coat on the hanger and his bag on the table.
"I'm in the kitchen!" Draco shouted from the room next to him.
Harry was tired. His work at the Ministry was hard this summer. Paper work mostly, hopefully, but it was always tiresome.
When he came into the kitchen, he saw at Draco's body language that something was wrong. His boyfriend was unseasy, cooking something, but his hands were trembling, ready to catch anything if it were to fall on the ground. And he didn't look at Harry right away with his beautiful smile. Like he normally did.
Harry took a better look at the kitchen, searching for the reason for Draco’s stress when, at the same time his eyes landed on his tiny dragon pet and the black letter, Draco groaned in frustration.
"Andromeda died yesterday."
The sentence was like a bomb. His stomach turned as he looked at Draco. Harry didn't know Andromeda well. She was Sirius' cousin. She was Draco's aunt. But Harry knew he had no feelings toward her. They were distant. Even after the war, they hadn’t tried to keep contact.
Harry was lost in his emotions. The witch had been a great lady. After chatting with Tonks and Sirius about her, they had met sometimes, so she could see her grandson, but Harry and Draco had taken him under their wings and she’d said she was too old to raise a child.
"When is the funeral?" he asked, sitting on the nearest chair.
"Tomorrow morning. I'll go with mom at nine in the morning," Draco answered.
"What?" Harry asked, disbelieve about the rapidity of the organisation clouding his mind. "But what about me?"
"Mum said since you have no link to the family, you can't take a day off work. And you barely knew her," Draco said softly.
"And? I knew her!" Harry fumed. "She was a good person and I laughed a lot with her and—"
Sakar, the dragon, whined as Harry's tone got louder and sadder. Both men looked at the creature crawling from the table towards Harry, trying to calm him with a hug.
"Harry," Draco put his hand on Harry's shoulder, making him look at those silver eyes, "I'm sorry, I should have sent you a message about it."
"It's not you that I'm mad at. I’m mad at your mum." Harry sighed, tears on the point of falling down "We've been together for almost eight years now and she still assumes I'm not part of the family. She still assumes that I don't want to come to honour someone that matters to them, to you."
"Do you want to come?" Draco asked, caressing Harry's cheek.
"No, she's right. I have work to do," Harry said. "But I need space tonight. It's a lot to take in. I'm not hungry anymore."
Without another word, Harry left the room, walking with heavy feet and heavy heart to their bedroom. He didn't know what strange feeling he had right now. Sadness, anger, confusion, even anxiety.
He opened the door to see Teddy sleeping on their bed. The nine-year-old had wavy black hair and Harry knew it was for her. For his granny.
Harry sobbed silently, wishingthat maybe, one day, he would have a real family. A family of his own, that would want him.
"Dad?" Teddy's sleepy voice asked. "Papa said granny was gone. I wanted to make sure you were okay. So I waited for you."
Harry knew, at that precise moment that he already had that family.
"Shhh, I'm okay. I'm here for you." Harry took the boy in his arms as he sat on the mattress.
"Papa said you won't come tomorrow. That you were busy at work."
"That's right. Dad has a lot of work."
"Do you want me to come with you? So you won't be alone?"
Harry smiled fondly.
"Do you want to stay with me or say goodbye to granny Andromeda?"
"I don't know," Teddy said, putting his hand under his chin like Draco did when he was thinking hard.
"I'm sure Papa needs you," Harry whispered, knowing fully that his boyfriend was behind the door. "You know how he is. He's not showing it but he will need you as support."
"You're right," Teddy gasped in realisation. "I'll say goodbye for you then. I'm sure she would have liked you to be there."
"Thank you, Teddy. I appreciate that."
They stayed like that, hugging on the edge of the bed until Teddy went to sleep again. Draco entered the room silently and Harry watched his boyfriend put a plate of food on the nightstand.
"You need to eat," he said, concerned.
"I love you, Draco."
Draco’s lips trembled in emotion. Harry took his hand and squeezed it. No other word was said that night.
Thank you @cluelesspigeons for beta reading it!

Forgotten Letter - Sirius Black x daughter reader
Tumblr media
Thanks for the request, anon! Hope you like it ;)
request: I would like to request a Post-Askaban Sirius X Reader, where the Reader is his daughter and firstly meets him at Grimauldplace. She is about Purceys Age and grew up with her mother. She knows that Sirius is her biological father and that he left her mom because their short relationship meant nothing to him. Hence the reason why she completely hates him. Sirius did not know about her as he was not bothered to know what Jolie (mother) wanted from him. That's why he never opened her letter, in which he could have known that he is a dad.
warnings: mentions of self-hate, family issues (obviously)
word count: 945
Author's note: Feel free to check out my Masterlists and make requests. No reposting please! Reblogging, comments and requests are always appreciated <3 If you like the story/my writing, please don't be shy to say it via comments or asks! It takes you a few seconds and might make my day. It's the best appreciation you can show to a writer you like.
----------
Sirius' PoV
“What are you doing here?”, an unfamiliar woman inquired.
Her voice was dripping with disgust.
What had I done? Especially if I did not even remember her.
She appeared to be a member of the Order as she was standing right in front of me at Grimmauld Place.
“Oh, sorry! I forgot that you don't even know what I look like. I'm (f/n) (l/n). Sounding familiar?”, she questioned.
“(l/n) … wait! Are you part of Jolie's family?”, I assumed.
Jolie and I had been in a relationship a long time ago, but it had not lasted long. So I knew basically nothing about her family.
“Do you seriously think that playing dumb would help you in any way?”, she wondered.
“What are you even talking about?”, I shot back.
“I'm your daughter”, she declared.
The world seemed to freeze for a moment as my mind refused to process her words.
“What?”, I stammered confused and completely overwhelmed.
“Wait. Didn't you read the letter?”, she inquired.
“The letter? Which letter? … OH!” Suddenly realization hit me.
Jolie had sent me a letter shortly after our break up.
I had let our relationship behind me. So I had not even opened the letter, but had tossed it away without wasting a thought about it.
Now I was feeling like an idiot.
“The letter told you that mom was pregnant with me. But she was right. She hadn't meant anything to you and you just dropped her like some used toy. I can't believe you're supposed to be my father.”
Her words moved through me like poison, leaving burning pain behind literally everywhere.
What should I do with this whole situation? I had just started truly recovering from Azkaban.
“You know what? Actually it doesn't matter. I don't need you anyway”, she proposed and left the room.
Shit! I screwed up.
“Woah! That was … something”, Tonks startled me.
“How long have you been standing there?”, I questioned.
“The whole time. You know … I've never seen (f/n) like this. Usually she's a funny person to be around”, she enlightened me.
“Great! That means she only hates me”, I noted frustrated.
“What did you expect? From what I've just heard she grew up with the knowledge that you didn't care about her and her mom at all”, she pointed out.
“Tonks, can't you please talk to her? It seems like you two are getting along and I don't even know how to approach her”, I begged her.
“I can persuade her to hear you out, but you have to do the talking yourself”, she offered.
“That'd be a great help”, I proposed.
“Fine then”, she agreed with a sigh and followed (f/n) upstairs.
I sat down on the couch figuring out what to say.
Luckily no one else was at Grimmauld Place right now. So we would not get interrupted.
Although … maybe I wanted to get interrupted. Obviously I had a talent to screw everything up with my words.
After a while (f/n) joined me in the living room, her arms crossed in front of her chest. And all of a sudden it was like Jolie was standing in front of me.
“(f/n), I'm sorry I didn't open the letter. If I had known that Jolie was pregnant I would have never left her like that. I would have at least supported her”, I claimed.
I could see the pain in her eyes making my heart twitch.
“Every time I asked who my father was she ranted about you, told me how much pain you had caused her. And from time to time she noted how I reminded her of you. Have you any clue how that felt. I was so … ashamed of myself. I reminded my mom, the most important person in my life, of the one person who had hurt her the most. And I hated myself for it. I'm sure she hated me for it as well sometimes, although she gave her best to raise me well”, she stated.
Her voice was absolutely calm now. The tone of her voice did not give away how much pain her words were actually revealing. How much had she endured to get to this point?
I had no idea how her life had been. She was a total stranger to me.
“You don't come after me. Mostly you resemble Jolie”, I let her know.
As she did not react to my words I continued: “You have her deep (e/c) eyes. And the way you're moving is like seeing her in front of me.”
“To me you're the criminal who left me before I was even born. I always wanted to prove that I'm better than you. That's also why I joined the Order. What are you doing here?”, she changed the topic.
“I was innocent. I didn't commit the crime I was placed in Azkaban for”, I recalled.
“Do you think that changes anything? I spent my life being afraid of your genetics. I was scared of every little mistake. That it would lead me to become like you”, she confessed.
“You didn't deserve that and I'm sorry for that. But I can't change the past. You'll have to decide yourself what to do next. I can't leave the Order. I have nowhere to go. But you do. You don't have to prove anything anymore. You're already way better than I'll probably ever be. So if you want that you can go and never see me again.”

10 NEW SONGS - 2/16/24
No significant new albums to note today but a ton of singles that are worth discussing - much more fruitful than last week. Without further ado:
1. TEXAS HOLD ‘EM - Beyoncé
Beyoncé is BACK. After a fun Verizon Super Bowl ad, she surprised everyone and dropped two new singles. As many others have noted online, it appears that the theme of this Renaissance trilogy is Bey reclaiming genres of music that were created by Black artists but popularized by White ones. She tackled house music first, and now she’s onto country.  Listening to “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” has me yearning for a proper cowboy bar to line dance / honky-tonk in. She effortlessly flows on the track, sounding completely in her element despite having just a few “country” songs in her discography (if you liked “Daddy Lessons” from Lemonade, I promise you’ll love this). I haven’t been able to stop singing “And I'll be damned if I can't slow-dance with you / Come pour some sugar on me, honey too” all week.
2. 16 CARRIAGES - Beyoncé
“16 CARRIAGES” feels like a proper B-side single - a slower, building ballad that really makes you feel something. Just an incredible vocal performance and some truly beautifully written lyrics as she reflects on how hard she’s grinded in the music industry since she was 15 years old: It's been thirty-eight summers, and I'm not in my bed / On the back of the bus in a bunk with the band / Goin' so hard, now I miss my kids / Overworked and overwhelmed”. Beyoncé has been constantly reinventing herself for over two decades now - I can’t wait to hear what her iteration of a full-blown country record sounds like.
3.  Older - Lizzie McAlpine
Typically, I am not a fan of the slow, simple, stripped-down pop ballads, but Lizzie McAlpine’s take on that has me hooked. On “Older”, the lead single for her album of the same name, Lizzie sings of transitioning into adulthood, with cutting lyrics like “Over and over, watch it all pass / Mom's getting older, I'm wanting it back / Where no one is dying, and no one is hurt / And I have been good to you instead of making it worse”. I may or may not have cried to this on my commute this morning.
4. Thinking Less - Sinéad Harnett
Sinéad Harnett has been consistently dropping excellent R&B music for a minute now, and “Thinking Less” is par for the course. Over a rhythmic, plucked, syncopated (it's unclear if I used this word correctly) acoustic guitar and a steady beat, Sinéad sings of independence and moving on from a former partner. This vibe pairs so nicely with her first single, “Say Something” - really looking forward to her new album.
5. Cockblocker - Kim Petras
Babe, wake up! Kim Petras dropped an album where she exclusively talks about dicks and sex! “Cockblocker” is hilarious - Kim just lists all the things she likes. You know what she doesn’t like? A cockblocker.
(I just found out that Dr. Luke produced this song and Kim works with him a ton so that sucks, but unfortunately I will still be listening!)
6. Training Season - Dua Lipa
I love Dua Lipa. I love Tame Impala. This song is great, but I don’t love it. I have a feeling it will grow on me (as most her songs tend to do), but it’s absolutely worth a listen regardless. Pro tip - the extended version is significantly better. I’m never mad about new Dua, but I think Future Nostalgia may have set up unrealistically high expectations for her new music.
7. Gen-X Cops - Vampire Weekend
Beyoncé isn't the only artist who's back - Vampire Weekend would like a word! They haven’t dropped an album in 5(!?) years, but they’re finally here with a few new singles. I struggled to pick between the two - I have a feeling that "Capricorn" will grow on me and make sense more in the context of the album - but “Gen-X Cops” grabbed me more, at least initially. It’s upbeat. It’s a bit grungy. It's got a thumping bassline. And I love Ezra singing the line “Each generation makes its own apology”.
8. Spring Is Coming With A Strawberry In The Mouth - Caroline Polachek
Released as a bonus track to Caroline Polachek’s excellent 2023 album Desire, I Want To Turn Into You, “Spring Is Coming With A Strawberry In The Mouth” is simply a bop. I love how it builds for 45-ish seconds before bringing to bass and drums together to set the tone for the rest of the track. Add some of those heavenly, airy vocals with weird lyrics on top, and it’s everything I could ever want in a Caroline Polachek song.
9. Inaka - Mei Semones
I’ve been trying to put people onto Mei Semones for years now. Seamlessly oscillating between English and Japanese lyrics, I never really know which direction her music is going to go, but I’m always along for the ride - this is definitely true on “Inaka”. I love the use of backing orchestral strings on this track in particular. She’s often described as a “jazz” artist, but I wouldn’t even begin to try to put her in a box.
10. Like This - Buddy
Years ago, I went to see Aminé live in Milwaukee. Buddy was an opener. I knew a few Buddy songs so I was looking forward to seeing him. A rapper came up on stage and started performing who I thought was Buddy. He was bad. I was bummed. After his set, another rapper came on stage and he rocked. THAT was Buddy! Anyways, this song is great. Jazzy, smooth beat. Laid back flow. Everything I want in a Buddy song.

Královnina duše
Veronica Eliska Karolina Hajek was an English woman of bohemian descent who came from London and was looking for a new future in Prague.
She had been sorted in Hufflepuff and was part of Hufflecrew.
She was 18099 years old in 1650, and was able to still look young by the philosophical stone and by a potion she made.
Her hair was honey brown. She was of high height and her eyes were a mix of blue-grey, and had a thin but curvaceous figure.
Veronica was a witch who also traveled to a lot of countries, especially Asia, and always tried to blend in but in a respectful way.
When she traveled to Vietnam, she deeply connected and fell in love with a woman called Huong Ly.
They both fled in order to create their own destiny away from their societies.
Huong was 21 in 1643 when she met Veronica, she was from Nghe An, and was a very talented witch who also was a legillimens and had a gift for charms and Defense against the Dark Arts, she longed for adventure and to have a legacy behind her name and she wanted to do it by Veronica's side.
They started teaching magic in Bohemia and eventually decided to found a school that would open its doors for anyone who was eager to learn and who always tried to do their best.
Huong took many students under her wing, she brought many students from Vietnam so that they could learn there in Bohemia and she also traveled back to Vietnam frequently in order to teach them.
In the end and Veronica founded two schools, one located in Quang Binh province in Vietnam, disguised as a lake, and the other in Ostrava, Bohemia, hidden in a mountain.
The schools had the same name but written in the two languages of Vietnamese and Czech.
"Královnina duše" in Bohemia, and "Linh hồn của một nữ hoàng" in Vietnamese, it meaned: "A queen's soul".
They both alternated between the management of the schools and always had a lot of celebrations that would bring them and the schools together.
Veronica stoped drinking her age deprivement potion, so that she would be able to grow old and die alongside Huong.
They both got married in 1657 and adopted 5 children and raised them in Bohemia.
They built a statue of an unicorn in front of the school as it was their favorite creature.
Veronica died first in 1698 and Huong died two years later, following the love of her life once again.
Nymphadora Tonks traveled to both Vietnam and Czech republic to research more about the schools, practice the magic that was studied there and to learn of the great love they had, and was overwhelmed by the story of Veronica and Huong; at first she did barely understood that kind of connection, as she also saw her mom and her dad, but she did not know how it felt to have it...
Until she met Remus Lupin and fell head over heels for him and understood everything.

Trinity Health System Hosts Legendary Gospel Singer for Juneteenth Celebration
Tumblr media
Trinity Health System is pleased to once again present acclaimed vocalist Angela Primm for the annual Juneteenth celebration at Second Baptist Church of Steubenville. The concert will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 17. Laurie Labishak will perform at 1:30 p.m. with a special appearance by the Honky Tonk Sweethearts. “To be a part of a community effort that is supported by its community for such an occasion that is so closely located to the underground system that was the locomotive for our freedom is just surreal," Primm said. "I don’t sing the songs, no, the songs sing me!” Highly sought after performer and vocalist Angela Primm is one of the premier voices of our time. Her musical history spans genres, continents, and audiences. She has commanded the attention of mega-stars from Aretha Franklin, Barbara Mandrell, Dolly Parton, and Brooks & Dunn to such Southern Gospel music legends as the late Vestal Goodman. Singing behind musical geniuses Andraé Crouch, Patti Austin, Bill Gaither, Rascal Flatts, and others, her four-octave soprano voice added rich tones and depth of sound to each artist’s recordings. Angela Primm's gift of song and love of the Gospel and Gospel music has catapulted her, as the Bible says, “before great men.” Angela’s background is what dreams are made of, and she is only beginning to step into the fullness of her purpose. Her current and inevitable step as a solo artist is the natural progression of a life divinely designed. Successful in life and business Angie is also a wife and businesswoman. True to her down-to-earth personality, she considers her most important achievement to have been marrying her soulmate, John Primm. A successful businessman as well as a fine vocalist himself, John is Angie’s biggest fan, chauffeuring her and caring for her on many of her personal appearances. He knew how to love her over 30 years ago and continues to do so to this day. For fourteen years, Angie and John produced Still Waters, Christian Light Club Inc., which was a live Christian cabaret that never compromised the Gospel. It was a fun time for the Saints and a huge hit in Nashville, Tenn. Angela was raised in the church by her precious mother, who was also a singer. Angie’s mom would sing the foot-stompin' and joyful “Couldn’t Keep It To Myself!” with such fervor, she would often lose her wig; but she would swoop it up and place it back on her head — backwards, and not miss one beat of her favorite song. Church members would laugh and shout right along with her. Telling this particular memory of her mother makes Angie rear back in laughter herself. A thriving recording career “Couldn’t Keep It To Myself!” is also a favorite song of Gospel legend Bill Gaither and is featured on Angela Primm’s sophomore project, Sanctuary. This CD and her debut CD, A Little Bit of Heaven, have been selling out wherever Angie performs — from concerts to cruises. Bill and Gloria Gaither have embraced her as a daughter and always make room for her to sing in their sold-out concerts and Gaither videos. With her fourth CD titled Spirituals: Songs of Mahalia Jackson, Angela renders tribute to one of her mentors while teaching the history behind the sound everyone loves, Black Gospel music. And for the love of this history, Angela recorded her first DVD live, singing and telling the story of The Sound of Black Gospel Music. God then spoke to her to sing about His precious blood, and she titled her next CD Oh the Blood of Jesus. Since then she has recorded Anthems and Hymns for Him, and her newest "gifted" live CD and DVD titled Angie & Friends that ranked as a bestseller on Amazon in August of 2022. Angela is a regular performer with the Gaither Homecoming series and has performed around the world as a solo artist. She recently completed a 15-day Norwegian tour as a solo artist. Looking to the future Angie continues to move forward in her calling while listening to the voice of her Father; there is nothing she would not do for Him. Nothing! She was filmed in a movie that played in theaters around the nation titled Death of a Nation. Her closing song and appearance was noted as a “breath-taking” ending to an amazing movie. Angie’s beautifully wide smile lights up a room and her fun-filled disposition carries an exuberance that is electric and contagious. Moreover, her anointed and powerful voice makes the cares of this world melt into puddles at your feet. Angela Primm is “a little bit of heaven” to those blessed to know her or experience her music, her joy, and her wonderful laugh. What lies ahead for Angela Primm? Her future rests securely in God’s hands. But one thing we know for sure is that wherever Angie goes, and whatever Angie does, she will be giving her heart and soul to the people God loves, for the love of her Lord. That’s the way it was, the way it is, and the way it always will be. Trinity Health System is proud to have Angela Primm in town for this year’s Juneteenth Celebration. We would like to invite the media to attend the 2 p.m. concert at Second Baptist Church. Angela and Market Director Laurie Labishak will be on hand for interviews. Second Baptist Church of Steubenville is located at 717 Adams St. If you have any questions, please reach out to Laurie via the information in the header of this press release. Read the full article

Young Man, Old House
Prompt: Create a sense of that person’s individuality and why they are so fascinating.
This is what I came up with: A creative person, such as an artist or writer, who lives an unusual, somewhat mysterious life
A distinct smell that comes to mind is one of dried acrylic paint. Everything related to him has that quality to it. Somewhat dry-looking, suspiciously old but beautiful. Jordan is like a rose in a field full of sunflowers. You might not notice him, but he is there. An oddity unlike any other. A persona so out of place in the neighborhood, it is almost impossible to believe that aside from shop owners and a handful of teens, nobody knows him.
I was first aware of his presence in the world by pure accident. Amidst the great pile of fabrics, hauling materials that look as heavy as his body weight. It was admirable. I did not think much of it. Instead, I paid attention to my mom, who was choosing heavy-looking fabrics for our new curtains. That is until I saw that same messy cerulean curls on the front yard of a house at the end of my street a few days later.
In contrast to the bright young being standing in front of it, the house was in all shades of old. I stood there for who knows how long, staring at a man dressed in yellow shorts and a matching duckling-patterned apron, mixing paints while flinging his hands to what I assume is music coming from his headphones. After an embarrassingly long time, he looked up and saw me staring. That was my cue to run as fast as I can home, not even bothering to look back or remember my purpose of going out at that time.
It felt like I was intruding on something very private, even though he was out in the open. I have never felt such shyness coming from deep within me, it was intriguing. Over time I would see him around the neighborhood, always by himself. He reminded me of Nymphadora Tonks from The Harry Potter series, it seems like his hair changes color every time I see him.
One day he invited me to paint a shed behind his house. It was out of the blue, I was told to deliver a parcel for the holiday season when he offered me to “play with some paint”. From then on, I began to unravel this mystery of a man in graphic aprons. He was like other adults. He complained about work, traffic, and how all food delivery men seemed to think that his house is haunted and so he always picks up his food at the security post. Truthfully, I am also scared of the house. But we also talked about hobbies, how the school is different now and then, and about the food stalls around our neighborhood. It was nice, splashing bright colored paint onto a freshly painted white shed and talking about the mundane things in life.
I hung the faded purple apron Jordan gave me behind the door to my room. I bring them every time I come over to his front yard to do some kind of craft. He always has something going on, painting chairs and tables, fixing a cupboard, and repurposing all kinds of household items. Some of the neighborhood children would join us, but they would get easily bored and leave to play elsewhere.
There was a time when he berated me, but I did not feel any resentment toward him. It was surreal, for the first time in my life, I was out very late with my friends on a school night. He came out of nowhere and asked us why we are out and about. We were at a loss for words, we just wanted to be cool, hanging out at night. I was convinced, then and there, that he is a good person, he could have ignored us or said that it was okay but he made sure we know why going out at night is a bad idea and took us home.
I would later know that he was on a job to paint a mural that night and left for a while to ensure that all of us got home safely. From then on, I look up to this mysterious man with weird fashion choices.

Hot Damn!
This morning we met up for breakfast in the lobby and to plan our day. It was decided that we would do the Old Town Trolley Tour and see the parts of Nashville that we would need to revisit. We purchased our tickets via phone and immediately were sent a text and an email with the link to the tickets. We drove downtown and found a prime parking spot across from the Nashville Music Centre which was a short walk to the Country Music Hall of Fame where we were planning to catch the OTT.
Buck was our tour guide and he regaled us over the hour and a half we spent with him with countless jokes and puns and lots of stories about Nashville that we thoroughly enjoyed. Syl declared it to be a highlight of the trip for him. Julien was not quite as impressed and promptly fell to the ground and gave it a big ol’ kiss declaring it to be a 0/10 for him.
We decided that we would go in search of Hot Chicken for lunch. Prince’s Hot Chicken was the original but Hattie B’s came recommended by Buck. We headed to Broadway in search of Hattie’s but came upon a line up that was dozens and dozens of people deep. We decided to put a pin in that idea and instead went to the Assembly Food Hall where we came upon…Prince’s Hot Chicken. It was meant to be! Julien and Syl opted for wood fired pizza (chickens!). Mom and I had mild chicken tender salad and a cornmeal muffin. Dad went for a medium heat Andres Sandwich. The waitress clarified for him what that meant but he declared himself ready for it. I’ve included a video for proof. The mild was lip numbing. I cannot imagine the hottest of the hot aptly called XXX.
In Julien’s bucket list for this trip was to buy cowboy boots and luckily for us there was an Ariat Store in the courtyard of the Food Hall. He tried on a couple of pairs before declaring “Hot damn!” and choosing his pair.
We walked over to the Ryman Auditorium and Dad purchased us a tour. It started with a really clever film about the history of the Auditorium and followed with a walking tour through the original home of the Grand Ole Opry. You can see how the new Opry was modelled after the Ryman. We had our « free » photo taken at the front of the stage as they were setting up for Il Divo who were performing in the evening.
A walk along one block of an extremely busy Broadway Street past Allan Jackson’s bar (to mom’s delight!) and Nudie’s Honkey Tonk. The music was pumping out of each venue and the spirits were high as visitors jostled for space to move on the sidewalk. We walked a block and then headed to a lovely park bench to sit in the sun beside the Nashville Walk of Fame.
Syl and Julien took a spontaneous decision to purchase Nashville Predator tickets to see them play a game against Chicago. We left them downtown and they spent their time waiting at the Hard Rock Cafe. We headed back to the hotel on an adventure to find something green to wear for St. Patrick’s Day. We ended up at the fast fashion mecca, Walmart. 🍀 After our harrowing trip, we decided to do Uber Eats for supper and ate in the lobby. Dad was fascinated by the ease of how it all worked as our driver Chad brought in our yummy dinner. It was a first for him and he only wished for a real plate, knife and fork to make it perfect. Mom watched the status of the game so that we wouldn’t be too late to pick up Syl. We left at the beginning of the third period and made it downtown and parked next to the Bridgestone Arena in record time.
The Predators lost 2-1 against Chicago but Syl said it was a great game. Julien didn’t like how high the seats were - the price won out - and he declared that next time they go to a game he wants to be on the first level.
We made it back to the hotel after another creative route 😉 and sank into our beds ready for a good night’s sleep.

12, 16, 43? <3
I'm so sorry xD this has been in my ask box for a long time 🙈❤
It was for this thing: invasive but general asks . Thank you! 🥰
Here we go.
12. what fictional family best represents your own?
I think there are probably choices that are more fitting but I'm gonna go with the first family that popped into my head - the Weasleys. Strong mom, nerdy dad, more than 2 siblings, household a bit messy 😂😉.
16. what are your top five favorite bands/ artists/ musicians?
That's reall hard...and the answer will probably change when you ask me this again at a different time.
I'll try: 1. Imagine Dragons, 2. Green Day, 3. AnnenMayKantereit, 4. MCR, 5. Alec Benjamin.
There's so many more I really like tho...
43. what books did you grow up with?
Oof :D Many. I'll list a few titles (and I'm thinking about books I read before I was 11 because otherwise it would be too many...). In no particular order and I will forget some.
- "The Little Vampire" books by Angela Sommer-Bodenburg (part of my dna probably)
- Several books by Astrid Lindgren (Pippi is great but Ronja and Emil will have my heart forever)
- "Max and Moritz" by Wilhelm Busch (💀)
- "Friedrich" by Hans-Peter Richter (i will probably not touch this book ever again!)
- "The Letter for the King" by Tonke Dragt (gosh, love! I know you like this book also, I think?)
- "The Little Witch" by Otfried Preußler (content that inspired my child self to write a movie script. My child self failed.)
- "Frederick' by Leo Lionni (love little mice and rats because of Lionni's mouse books probably)
- the Duckburg comics (also part of my dna i guess)
- "The Knickerbocker Gang" books by Thomas Brezina (Everyone likes the Tiger Team or the "???" back then but I loved these kids and was in love with Axel) (i only liked to the "???" later on)
- "The Neverending Story" by Michael Ende (i don't have to tell you that this book is very important ♡)
- "Magic Moon" by the Hohlbeins (I even liked the 2nd part but the 1st one is special to me)
- "Famous Five" books by Enid Blyton (my whole collection is still at our parents' house and I need them in my apartement actually because i miss the Famous Five even though I don't particularly like the storie anymore)
- "Robin Hood", but I don't remember which edition. (It was a ~~grown up one though - I remember that several things about it made me upset 😂 it was a red collector's edition. I learned what the medical procedure of 'bleeding someone' was thanks to this book and I will probably never forget that fact)
- the HP books. (It is what it is. :))
And many others...
You know which books came shortly after I turned 12 lol.
😁👍
Love you. ❤️

Yearly reminder that Tonks and Remus would’ve made amazing parents who would have never judged their children and took the time to listen to them and understand
But you know we can’t have anything nice around here
