The fact that, for crime boys, L’Manberg is completely and wholly a representation of the other.

For Wilbur, it’s Tommy - he named it, he’s the heart of it. The muse, and everything Wilbur ever did to protect L’Manberg was about Tommy. In Pogtopia he lost L’Manberg and he was losing Tommy, too. He blew up L’Manberg and killed himself and he wouldn’t apologise because he didn’t think Tommy would forgive him for doing that because Tommy was L’Manberg and the two were interchangeable. He tried to pretend he didn’t care about L’Manberg after his revival because it would hurt too much to admit it was gone. He tried to pretend he didn’t care about Tommy because it would hurt too much to admit he wasn’t the same was when Wilbur knew him.

For Tommy, it’s Wilbur - tommy helped found it for Wilbur. Through the entire beginning it was him following Wilbur and wanting Wilbur to be happy, and everytime he thought for L’Manberg he was fighting for Wilbur, and post-Nov-16th he continued to fight in Wil’s memory because it was all he had left of Wilbur. In Pogtopia he was fighting for L’Manberg back to try and get Wilbur back, because Wilbur was L’Manberg and the two were interchangeable. He tried to pretend he didn’t care about L’Manberg in exile because it would hurt too much to admit he couldn’t go back, he was trying to pretend Wilbur’s death wasn’t affecting him because it would hurt too much to admit he was gone.

The other L’Manbergians are important people in both Tommy and Wilbur’s lives - for Wilbur, Fundy and Niki are his son and best friend. For Tommy, Jack and Tubbo are his best friends and sworn enemies. And as much as those people are so important in tommy and Wil’s lives they aren’t at the centre of what L’Manberg means.

For all of them, it’s about friendship and freedom and community. But for Tommy, it’s also Wilbur. And for Wilbur, it’s Tommy.

And for both of them, that means home.

has anyone talked about how nonchalant c!phil was about Tommy saying that this might be his final goodbye to him for good. he likes the kid, sure, but he is immortal, and his last couple canon appearances has really reminded us of that in a similar way to hitting us across the back of the head with a steel chair. tommy tells him that this might be his final goodbye to phil and phil barely even blinks before giving tommy some armour, a notch apple, and waving him farewell. technically c!techno is alive, but i think it's been implied that he canonically probably won't be coming back either at all or for a very, very long time. so c!phil has already just lost a friend, not even to mention ranboo. it's that kind of numbness towards possible death that makes me just a little afraid of c!phil idk maybe im insane i just REALLY liked how thay was executed idk idk

likelihood of dsmp characters surviving the backrooms but it gets more shitposty as it goes on:

Tommy: plot armor. used to situations of grueling sameness and loneliness due to exile, but isn't triggered or set off bc of the differing situations. likely to spiral slightly as he doesn't handle being alone well, but talks to himself enough to make up for it. less bothered by the entities than he is by the names of those he remembers. DEFINITELY tames a male death moth. Loud to a fault and would be fucked if he weren't a main character. survives and gets out.

tubbo: quiet and stealth enough to make it. able to observe entities and understand their behavior. prefers routine and familiar areas rather than venturing into the unknown. For this reason, at this time, he hasn't escaped, but he exists possibly in a group, definitely safe.

Ranboo: slipped on a banana peel, fell ten levels and back into the overworld, fell through the sky and died on impact as his body hit the grass like a rag doll.

dream: his good instincts keep him safe, and it helps that the smilers take kindly to him. he could get out. if he wanted to.

Sapnap: thinks he can take on an entity. can't.

karl: "Smiler? I hardly know her!"

George: has reverse horror movie blonde luck and just survives by chance. gets out to the overworld and literally shrugs off the entire experience.

quackity: ok 2 options here

tries his damn hardest to look for a group to protect himself with and sweet talk his way in. doesn't make it that far before they get to him.

Tries to fuck an entity and dies

techno: laughs in an entity's face. he's fine.

Phil: his cautiousness he learned with his single hardcore life gives him good instinct. And, he can hold his own. He makes it out.

Wilbur: throws it back on a partygoer and they think he's one of them and he lives there now
