September 18th - Chipmunk Hunk 

Tomas Lara-Perez discovered in his youth that he possesses powers and abilities similar to or usually associated with chipmunks.  This includes greatly enhanced strength, speed, agility, and reflexes as well as the capacity to store a large amount of items within elastic-like pockets on the sides of his mouth (weird!). He additionally found that he can telepathically communicate with chipmunks.

Tomas very much wanted to utilize his powers to help people and be a costumed super hero.  Although he felt embarrassed by the chipmunk-themed nature of his powers.  As such, he chose to keep his chipmunk powers secret and operated under the alias of the ‘Handsome Puncher.’ Later, after encountering The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, Tomas had a change of heart.  He was inspired by the heroine’s confidence and how she fully embraced her powers and identity.  As such, Tomas chose to change his codename to ‘Chipmunk Hunk.’

Tomas met Ken Shiga at Empire State University.  Ken is the young superhero known as The Unsinkable Koi Boi.   The two became crime fighting partners and frequent allies to Squirrel Girl.  

The dashing Chipmunk Hunk first appeared in the pages of The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl Vol. 1 #3.

Hey guys! This is part 5 of my MCU rewrites! I decided to rewrite some parts of MoM to include a connection to Loki and the TVA, and to also fix up Wanda and America’s characters a bit. (In this version, I imagined America being played by an Afro-Latina actress. No hate towards Xochitl Gomez; I just personally think they should have kept the character’s race accurate to the comics.) Oh, look! Tomas Lara-Perez was just seen walking down the streets. Is it just me, or does he look like Reece King? It must be the eyes. I hear he’s twenty-two and living in Asgard. He’s known for being flirty, vain, and just. He has to be from the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl comic book series.

                                         the basics.

Tomas always wanted to help people, even more so after discovering that he had superpowers. However, he didn’t find it very cool or heroic that he could talk to chipmunks, as well as mimic their characteristics, so he was hesitant to embrace that side of him. When he first began to fight crime, he took on the alias “the Handsome Puncher.”

After meeting Ken and Doreen, two college students who were like him, he changed his alias to “Chipmunk Hunk.” After being recognized by Doreen’s roommate, Tomas had no choice but to reveal his true self to Doreen, and he, Doreen, and Ken have been fighting crime together ever since.

Doreen Green - Tomas hadn’t noticed Doreen’s crush on him. In fact, he didn’t think much of her until he had to reveal his true self and his alias after intervening in a fight at the campus bank with Ken. After revealing his true identity, the pair have begun hanging out more and have become quite close friends.

Ken Shiga - Tomas and Ken met each other the same way they had met Doreen - by fighting crime. The two consider themselves friends and Tomas often helps Ken with problems he feels he can’t discuss with Doreen, and vice versa.

Tomas has the ability to speak to chipmunks and squirrels, has enhanced speed, strength, and agility, can expand his cheeks (much like a chipmunk) for storage, and can emit an extremely loud “sonic chirp”.
