Men who enter women’s spaces and “call the experience “paradise” and said he was in “boob heaven,” and compared women’s bodies to marshmallows and peaches, using Japanese onomatopoeia to imitate the sound of jiggling. “It was really a 360-degree world full of tits and tight, peach-like buttocks,” Wasada said” are misgendering themselves.
A Japanese trans-identified male YouTuber has prompted backlash after boasting of using the women’s sauna at a hotel in Yokohama last month.
Nao Wasada, who also uses the name Suzanne Misaki, uploaded a video to his YouTube channel on December 5 titled “What Happened After a Former Man Took Off His Clothes and Entered the Women’s Bath.” In the vlog, Wasada describes his experience entering the women’s section of the bath house in highly sexualized terms.
As of January 4, the upload has over 2,300 ‘dislikes’ compared to only 290 ‘likes.’
Tumblr media
“I snuck into a women’s bath where women in their natural appearance gathered together,” Wasada says in the video. “For a former man, a women’s bath is a dangerous place because it reveals the male body and if it is discovered that you are a former man, you are in all sorts of trouble.”
He went on to call the experience “paradise” and said he was in “boob heaven,” and compared women’s bodies to marshmallows and peaches, using Japanese onomatopoeia to imitate the sound of jiggling. “It was really a 360-degree world full of tits and tight, peach-like buttocks,” Wasada said.
“I actually went to peachy boob heaven and worshipped marshmallow tits,” he added. “Everyone hides them with a towel, but they’re protruding, aren’t they? Heaven. There are big peaches and small ones. There are peaches, and there are women whose buttocks stick out like pears.”
Tumblr media
Wasada further detailed his experience in the women’s public bath on his Instagram account, where he describes himself as someone who “love[s] spending money on plastic surgery, body modification, and beauty,” and promises tips on “bust enhancement.”
In a December 4 post, Wasada stated that this was not his first time entering a women’s public bath, and again made sexual comments about the naked bodies of women he saw in the bath house. Wasada excitedly compared women’s breasts to a buffet, depicting the scene as “all-you-can-fill boobs while your heart is pounding.”
Wasada has made repeated references to breasts in his videos and social media posts. In June 2021, Wasada tweeted: “I love girls, I love boobs. If you have a sex change, have breast augmentation, and work hard on your clothes, hairstyle, voice, and make-up to look like a woman, you will be recognized as a woman, and that’s okay.”
Tumblr media
Many commenters responded negatively to Wasada’s sauna video, with some asserting that Wasada posed a threat to the women in the facility. The replies which received the most “likes” in response were ones which strongly condemned Wasada’s behavior.
“If you’re a woman at heart, don’t you understand that if you say things like this to a woman, it’s scary and disgusting? I’m not discriminatory and I’ve participated in the Pride parade in the past, but when I saw this video, I honestly thought it was really disgusting. LGBT+ just lost its supporters,” read one of the top comments.
“[This is] a person you don’t want your wife or daughter to encounter in a hot spring or toilet,” said another commenter.
Other responses from women expressed the view that they would not want to enter a public bath if they knew men would be present and watching them. Some replied that Wasada’s behavior was more like a man than that of a woman, with one respondent labeling him “a man who is fascinated by women’s bodies and has changed his body beyond his hobby of cross-dressing.”
Japanese news outlets reported on Wasada’s video, and a lawyer spoke with Yahoo News about the incident. When questioned about the legality of the situation, attorney Ayao Masaki, a member of the Tokyo Bar Association, stated that it could present a “legal issue,” and cited laws related to trespassing with a voyeuristic intent and public exposure.
Following the public outcry, Wasada uploaded a video on December 20 responding to critics. Rather than apologizing for his behavior, Wasada instead claimed that the video was intended for male viewers, referred to himself as a “pervert”, and stated that he could not promise he would refrain from making similar comments about women in the future.
A Japanese feminist who campaigns against gender self-identification policies explained to Reduxx that because bath houses are segregated according to sex, women would not expect men to be permitted to enter the women’s area.
Haruka, speaking under the condition of anonymity, said that despite the laws surrounding sex-segregation, there have been documented cases of men gaining access to the women’s baths under false pretenses. Most of those cases resulted in an arrest.
Haruka added that she believed some women would refuse to use public bath facilities if they knew that men who identify as transgender were being granted entrance, and especially if they were aware that such men were sexually attracted to women. Haruka explained that in Japan, public bath houses are not considered recreational, but are “a part of daily life.”
Gender ideology appears to now be colliding with Japan’s centuries-long tradition of public bathing and creating legal confusion. While the areas are presumed to be segregated based on sex, the introduction of legal document revision means that males like Wasada who change their gender marker to “female” are technically able to access the facilities.
The Japanese government currently requires “sex-reassignment surgery” in order for individuals to alter sex markers on official documents, though activists are pushing for reforms which would allow for self-identification on the basis of a subjective gender identity with no medical transition.
Last fall, Reduxx reported that several Japanese women’s universities had begun accepting men who self-declare a transgender status as students.
Japan Women’s University (JWU) was the latest institution to announce it would be adopting a self-identification policy. The measure will be implemented at the start of 2024 despite half of the female students currently enrolled expressing opposition or hesitation.
In response to the female student’s concerns, JWU released a “Diversity Declaration” last June outlining how administrators intended to work towards convincing female students to change their views on gender ideology. According to the statement, female students at Japan Women’s University (JWU) who express skepticism on the topic of gender identity may be asked to speak with “gender-specialist counselors” in order to convince them that men who identify as transgender are “female.”
Policies allowing for men to self-identify into women-only academic institutions come in the wake of internationally-publicized scandals that saw top universities intentionally lowering women’s entrance exam scores for years to deny them admission on the basis of their sex.
International rankings, including those from the World Economic Forum, consistently place Japan as one of the most unequal countries in the developed world in terms of political representation and economic opportunities for women.
Sexual harassment, upskirting, and public groping are so prevalent in the nation that advertisements on public transportation can be seen warning passengers to be on alert for sexually-motivated crimes, and most major railways offer some form of specially designated women-only spaces or train cars. In addition, voyeurism pornography has been increasing in popularity in recent years, motivating men to install cameras in women’s spaces of undress in order to film them unaware.

Remote 10 Dance Ball 2022
Following 2021’s exclusively remote streaming version, 2022 brought the return of a live Real 10 Dance event, which was held April 24th in Tokyo. At the event, it was announced that they would be also creating a version of it for streaming, featuring both content that was included in the live version, as well as additional segments filmed exclusively for the online stream. I found this very exciting since Japan is still very limited in who they’re allowing to visit the country, so even though I would have loved to go to the live event, it simply wasn’t possible. The streaming version went live on June 25th and was available to view for 3 days. Like last year, the cost was 1,000 yen, and there were options to give additional 1,000 yen tips to the production committee, the dancers, or Inouesatoh herself (last year I just gave to Inouesatoh, this year I spread the love around to everyone but also gave even more to her specifically haha). The bonus for the additional tips is that you also receive a link to a 16 minute making-of video of the event, including footage from rehearsals beforehand and backstage on the day of. All virtual attendees received a code that could be used at convenience stores in Japan to print out an illustrated postcard to commemorate the event. I’d guessed before that it would be the colored version of a panel from chapter 38 that Inoue shared in celebration of the live Real 10 Dance, and I was right! Below is the version I had printed out by friends who live in Japan, and under the cut you can find my full report of this year’s Remote 10 Dance Ball.
Tumblr media
(There’s a preview video for the event if you’d like to see some of the action instead of just reading a summary with limited still images)
Following still shots introducing all of the dancers and listing some of their individual accomplishments, next up was vlog made by Kouichi Nishio (one of the pro consultants for the manga). It chronicled a trip he took to England, and included content such as him visiting dance studios, going to a supermarket and showing some of the local snacks he likes, and a trip to the famous Winter Gardens venue in Blackpool, which has been featured in 10 Dance in parts such as the World Championships chapters.
A host for the event gave introductions and information between each segment of content. First up was an intro dance to “Another Day of Sun” from La La Land featuring all of participants in their regular partnerships (and even the mascot character Steppy gets in on the action!). A wide variety of both standard and Latin dances were showcased during this number.
Tumblr media
Next up were some segments titled “the real world of competitive dance”. The first one was about costumes, starting with a standard couple. The woman talked about how her dress features layers of different colored and textured fabrics that will reveal different glimpses as she moves around, and additional ribbons hanging from her wrists that create more movement. These days, it’s also common for performers to have masks that match their dresses. The man helpfully described his suit as just “It’s a suit” at first, though went on to say it’s specially designed for dance to have more elasticity and for the shoulders not to rise up when he’s in hold; it feels soft and easy to move in. His tie was just a cheap one from Daiso (a 100 yen store). For competitions standard men usually wear a tux and tails, but he personally would like to compete in suits more. The couple then performed a waltz demonstration.
The Latin couple was up next, and the man said he prefers a simple look. His outfit included a long sleeved satin shirt with the option to shorten the sleeves and button them into place, and high-waisted pants with a wide belt to make his legs look longer. The woman likes having something colorful, with her skirt featuring fluffy purple feathers that add a lot of volume, yet are light enough that it’s still easy to move. Her outfit also featured fringe on her torso to create additional movement. The couple then demonstrated a cha-cha. Following this segment, the host mentioned that Inouesatoh attended many competitions to observe the costumes, and it helped her come up with ideas for dress designs to use in the series.
The second “Real World” segment featured some of the pros giving tours of the dance schools they run, which helped show the sort of work they do when they’re not competing, and also served as advertisements for viewers who might be interested in taking lessons.
Next the host mentioned how Suzuki competing in the Japan Open in volume 5 was described as him only using basic steps throughout yet still wowing the crowd. This led into two couples demonstrating the basic steps for the rumba and showcasing how the steps can be varied. They first performed a basic rumba as “simple”, then added the criteria of “emotional” the second time they did it. Afterward, the couples talked about how they create those variations while performing the same steps. The first style is more restrictive and forces them to stay on the exact beats. When doing it with more freedom, they can keep the end point of the beat but reach it in a different way. Adding variations imbues the performance with more energy and allows for a starker difference between soft and hard, and the dancers feel they can be more expressive.
The panel from chapter 35 that shows the contrast between Norman’s and Sugiki’s styles was the inspiration for the next segment, with an explanation and demonstration of how those differences are achieved. Norman’s is a classical, traditional style that conveys a softer image, while Sugiki’s is modern and dynamic. The connection point between the dancers’ bodies is higher for Norman’s style, giving the image of the following partner being gently enfolded when they perform an oversway. Sugiki’s style conveys more power, featuring a lower connection point that grants more upper body freedom, and feels more like the lead is controlling the follow.
The next segment featured the pros giving their rapid-fire impressions of all ten of the different ballroom dances, followed by demonstrations and voiceover commentary for each type. There were several rapid-fire answers for each dance, and the pros sometimes gave adjectives to describe the mood (passionate for tango, elegant for foxtrot, romantic for rumba), features of the dance (spinning for Viennese waltz), various nouns (swan for the waltz, thighs for the cha-cha, carnival for the samba, Elvis for the jive), or short phrases (like being on top of a frying pan for the quickstep, a battle with your life on the line for the paso doble).
The last segment before the main show was a roundtable discussion among four of the dancers about their favorite scenes from the series, with Kiyomi Takashima, Takashi Kajiya, Jun Motoike, moderated by pro consultant for the series Ai Shimoda.  Takashima started off by saying she likes the princess waltz from chapter 4. When she first started dancing, the waltz was her favorite, and reading this made her remember the feelings she had back then of being moved by that dance. It’s something one can forget in the course of many years of training, and sparks the desire to seek out that feeling again. She felt like the scene really conveyed to readers just how good dancing can feel.
Kajiya was up next, and his first comment was just marveling at the Latin hold the Shinyas are shown doing in chapter 3. The positions of the arms and hands were perfect for the style, with the arms being directly on top of each other, as opposed to standard where the follow’s arm floats above the lead’s. He wondered how she knew to do that, since at this early point in the series she didn’t yet have consultants. Shimoda commented at this point that when she first read the manga before getting involved as a consultant, she thought, “was this written for me?” when she noticed all the attention to detail such as what Kajiya described. Kajiya continued on to talk about another scene, at the end of volume 2 when the Shinyas dance at the park for the first time. Even as a Latin dancer, he was moved by the full body shot of the two of them coming together, with Sugiki’s scarf flying out and seeming to mimic a woman’s long hair.
Motoike brought up Sugiki’s vision of Suzuki as the God of Dance from the Tango Notturno bonus chapter. He pointed out the solid body lines, and said it reminded him of being back in art college and studying plaster busts, with Suzuki looking like Apollo in a godly pose. He then jumped ahead to where the God of Dance returned in volume 5, saying that it really doesn’t seem like you’re reading a dance manga anymore when looking at panels like Suzuki holding a pulsating heart in his hand. It shows a great sense of imagination, and he wondered what sort of references she used to draw something like that, where the heart looks like it has tree branches sprouting out of it. He then went to the whiteboard where he earlier sketched a copy of Suzuki’s face, and proceeded to analyze some of the finer points of Inoue’s style.  He said that the way his smirk is drawn feels natural, and he likes his pretty fluffy hair (though it’s a pain to draw, so he didn’t include too much of it). He demonstrated how many eyes are drawn in manga, quite large with a lot of detail, while the eyes Inoue draws are simpler yet still feel like they have depth. There are lines that are fully drawn, but also lines that are implied and remain undrawn so the final drawing doesn’t feel so confined, making it seem more three dimensional. Some series have excessive sound effects to the point where they become distracting (calling out a couple manga not by name but by their signature SFX, such as ざわざわ and ゴゴゴ lol), but Inoue uses them fittingly. Shimoda chimed in and said that subtle things like showing the sounds of dance shoes squeaking on the floor makes her take notice of those things in real life, and adds to the immersion of the scene. Motoike finished up his analysis by saying Inoue doesn’t use action lines unnecessarily, and that basically the things that a lot of artists commonly do are the things she doesn’t do.
Tumblr media
Next was the Real 10 Dance show! I’ll list the song, dance style, and share an image from each performance below.
Tumblr media
“Masquerade”, Viennese waltz, group dance featuring one female pair plus three male pairs
Tumblr media
“Butter” by BTS, cha-cha
Tumblr media
“Calmi Cuori Appassionati”, rumba and samba
Tumblr media
“All That Jazz”, ladies group slow jive
Tumblr media
“Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet”, waltz
Tumblr media
“Up All Night” by Charlie Puth, rumba
Tumblr media
“It’s Time to Dance” from The Prom musical, closing group dance
The final segment was a virtual art exhibition featuring storyboard art from many of the panels in chapter 35.
Tumblr media
Like last year, I was very happy that I had the chance to watch this despite not being able to go to Japan. Since they had the live version, I didn’t really expect they would also offer the virtual one, but I’m glad they did both this time! And the various segments they put along with the dances were interesting as well, I especially loved hearing a group of pros talking about their favorite parts of the series (according to a tweet I saw from Shimoda, the full discussion was an hour and a half long! The edited version that was shown was about 20 minutes, so I’m curious how the remaining hour of that talk went). Everyone seemed in awe at the amazing things she can pull off, and I love the statement that she doesn’t do the things that everyone else does. Gives more insight into why this manga feels so unique and different from other series.
And the dancing portions were just *chef’s kiss*. The Romeo and Juliet waltz was especially good for a few reasons. First, my biased belief/prediction that we’ll get a “Romeo and Romeo” chapter title at some point now seeming like a firmer possibility lol. There were also portions of the dance where they switched lead and follow positions seamlessly, I just loved how smoothly they did it when it seems like something that would be difficult to pull off in the stricter standard hold. Also it was just goddamn beautiful, like the music and the movement just made me wanna cry, and yes I watched it multiple times because I like to torture myself with the feels. The duo who did the rumba/samba number were also very good (they did the dramatic rumba that was my emotional punishment of choice last year lmao), I loved how even though there’s quite a height difference, the shorter man was still given the chance to lead. The whole show was just amazing, and though I’d still love the chance to catch it in person, getting to watch from home has its own benefits. Hopefully they’ll put on another show next year!

08/13/2023
currently watching Mushishi! Finally watching a Helena-recommended anime, and I'm loving it so far, it's been a slow, soft, and wonderful thing. More thoughts and pretty screenshots to follow.
Other media I'm currently consuming:
reading Michael Pante's A Capital City at the Margin
re-reading Tokyo Ghoul
was listening to some episodes of Literary Friction (the one with Brian Dillon on essays) and Verso pod (the one on ecofeminism and policing, etc.)
last movies I saw were Oppenheimer and Aftersun, I have to watch Nawapol's 36 before the month ends
still lots of Kpop shit: Aespa vlogs, Twice fancams, old Twice reaction videos, I really like Taehyung's last two songs and MVs, lots of Chordio remixes on repeat, I was revisiting Jack In The Box last week, found the amazing YouTube short of Chae and Jihyo doing the What is Love chorus but married ver. from 2021 (deeply moved by it)
on music, I finally listened to the entire shut the fuck up talking to me, the new George Clanton *chef's kiss*, I was trying to get into the music Karl/Frank/Anton talk about just to keep up so like hatchie, yeule, erika de casier, kelala, etc.
on Youtube, aside from Kpop, lots of James Hoffman, I caught up with the new Philosophy Tube video (the one with LegalEagle), Tekken 8 matches (lots of Knee, CBM, JDCR, etc.)
On Twitch, Dacktem and lmyourfather mostly, but I don't keep up much with Dacktem as often because he streams late (and been doing lots of chill runs)
On games, have an ongoing sword-summoner hardcore run and was playing a bit of Tekken 7 lately

Jungkook and His Cover Songs: Is “10000 Hours” about Jimin?
Disclaimer: The following post includes theories, lyric and numeric analysis, plus my personal opinions, so please don’t take anything seriously. I’m too lazy to upload photos and videos for the moments I mentioned here, but I’m sure you know about them all. Any Jikooker must know. And I’m not Korean or a Korean culture expert, I just know as much as any Stan Twitter ARMY knows about their culture.
Anyone?
Maybe one of the biggest Jikook moments of 2021 so far, is where Jimin jumped into Jungkook’s hug, in Lee Hyun’s Vlog. But the other moment on that Vlog was even more significant; Jungkook was singing “Anyone” from Justin Bieber’s new album, and Jimin was harmonizing with him while holding on his shirt. I don’t want to mention their interview moment singing “Peaches” because I know this song is super popular in South Korea right now and somehow it doesn’t count as a moment. But it’s safe to say that Jikook has something special with his songs, and JK in particular always was invested in him.
JK & JB
The reason behind Jungkook’s devotion to Justin Bieber was always a big question for me, and I got my answer not long time ago. Jungkook’s playlist for Melon Radio Station included a song from JB’s new album named “Lonely”. This is one of the most personal songs any artist can ever make, and JK recommended it to his audience. Here are the lyrics of “Lonely” by Justin Bieber:
Everybody knows my name now
But somethin' 'bout it still feels strange
Like lookin' in a mirror, tryna steady yourself
And seein' somebody else
And everything is not the same now
It feels like all our lives have changed
Maybe when I'm older, it'll all calm down
But it's killin' me now
What if you had it all, but nobody to call?
Maybe then you'd know me
'Cause I've had everything
But no one's listening
And that's just lonely
I'm so lonely, lonely
Everybody knows my past now
Like my house was always made of glass
And maybe that's the price you pay
For the money and fame at an early age
And everybody saw me sick
And it felt like no one gave
They criticized the things I did as an idiot kid
What if you had it all, but nobody to call?
Maybe then you'd know me
'Cause I've had everything
But no one's listening
And that's just lonely
These lyrics made me think of one specific thing, the thing that JK and JB have in common: They started their careers at a very young age, and their lives have been under the scrutiny of so many people. These people judged and criticized them but never tried to understand them. The lyrics are straightforward and leave no place for interpretation. By recommending this song, JK showed that he had (and probably still has) the same experiences in his life, and I think the reason he recommends or covers JB’s songs more than any other artist is that he has many things in common with him, and feels connected to his songs.
This can lead us to another theory: By covering a Justin Bieber song, Jungkook shares something about himself with us, something that he can’t express directly.
Jungkook is interested in JB’s songs, but he is not the only one. As I said earlier in this post, Jimin shares the same taste with Jungkook, and my receipt is not just that “Anyone” or “Peaches” harmonizing moments, but also Jimin’s Spotify playlists. Since 2017 (or earlier, I’m not sure about this part) he has added some JB songs to his official playlist, and even his current playlist (July 2021) has two JB songs. And also let’s not forget the fact that Jikook as a subunit started in 2014 with a JB cover. Yes, I’m talking about “Mistletoe” and as you may know, Jimin translated the lyrics of this song to Korean.
10000 Hours
Nearly 700 words and I haven’t started yet! The subject of this post was supposed to be the connections between “10000 hours” cover and Jikook but this prelude was necessary to clarify all the aspects of the topic and we find out how JB is special for JK and Jimin and how they (especially Jungkook) feel connected to him. Anyways, back to 10000 hours:
Dan + Shay and Justin Bieber released this Grammy winner song in October 2019. Here are the lyrics:
Do you love the rain, does it make you dance
When you're drunk with your friends at a party
What's your favorite song, does it make you smile
Do you think of me?
When you close your eyes, tell me, what are you dreamin'?
Everything, I wanna know it all
I'd spend ten thousand hours and ten thousand more
Oh, if that's what it takes to learn that sweet heart of yours
And I might never get there, but I'm gonna try
If it's ten thousand hours or the rest of my life
I'm gonna love you
Do you miss the road that you grew up on?
Did you get your middle name from your grandma?
When you think about your forever now, do you think of me?
When you close your eyes, tell me, what are you dreamin'?
Everything, I wanna know it all
I'd spend ten thousand hours and ten thousand more
Oh, if that's what it takes to learn that sweet heart of yours
And I might never get there, but I'm gonna try
If it's ten thousand hours or the rest of my life
I'm gonna love you
Ooh, want the good and the bad and everything in between
Ooh, gotta cure my curiosity
Ooh, yeah
I'd spend ten thousand hours and ten thousand more
Oh, if that's what it takes to learn that
Sweet heart of yours
And I might never get there, but I'm gonna try
If it's ten thousand hours or the rest of my life
I'm gonna love you
And I'm gonna love you
As you can see, the lyrics are 100% romantic, and the singers including JB, have dedicated this song to their lovers. Also, their girlfriends/wives have a cameo in the MV, which leaves no place for speculation for the context of the song: Even though the uncertainties always exist and no one knows about the future, our love is strong and will stay strong regardless of time.
The Cover and the Theories
Nearly one year later, on July 28th, 2020, Jungkook surprised ARMYs with a short video he tweeted at 11:56 AM. That video was a 49 seconds cover of 10000 hours. A few minutes later, he deleted the tweet (apparently with the advertisement excuses, because it was tweeted from an iPhone and they have a contract with Samsung). Later that night, Jungkook released the full version on Sound Cloud and tweeted the link at 11:47 PM.
Jikookers discovered numerous theories that day about the times of both tweets; if you add the digits of the time, the result is “13” for both tweets 1+1+4+7=13, 1+1+5+6=13, and as you already know “13” is Jikook’s magic number. Also, the first video he tweeted was 49 seconds and 4+9=13. But in my opinion, this theory is not strong. I know that numerology is very popular in Korean culture but still, all of this can be coincidences, but the other things I’m going to bring up are most likely not.
28th July 2020 was the 7th anniversary of the first Jikook selca posted after debut. This also might be a coincidence and to be honest, it cannot be a strong link to make a connection with Jikook, but worths sharing.
The next thing that many Jikookers also pointed out, was related to the title of the song. The lyrics say “10000 hours and 10000 more” and 20000 hours after the 28th of July is 8th November 2022. As you may know. Jikookers believe November 8th is a significant date for Jikook. I believe this can be a coincidence either, and it’s very unlikely of Jungkook to do such calculations (Koreans are interested in numbers when it comes to days and dates, but counting hours is not usual in any culture. Other than that, I’m still doubtful about the origins of the November 8th theory because we have nothing other than two tweets and G.C.F Tokyo release date and their hotel room in Tokyo which still can be coincidental). But I don’t deny these theories because even as a coincidence, it’s still very interesting.
And the next theory is connected to the “Red Moon”. On 27th July 2018, a total lunar eclipse happened all over the world, which became known as the red moon. At that time, BTS were in Malta, and on the same night, Jikook were watching the red moon on a boat. They shared plenty of photos and videos of that moment and I’m sure as a Jikooker you have seen them all and you know that night had a very romantic mood (BigHit words, not mine) for Jikook. So, a second anniversary for that night and the day after that night can be a significant date to release a very romantic cover. Is this a coincidence too? I think we had many of them already.
And last but not least is something connected to Korean culture. You probably know that 1000 days anniversaries are very important for Koreans and they celebrate them along with real anniversaries of the important dates in their lives. And guess what? 27th July 2020 is 1000 days after 31 October 2017. This day is the day Jikook’s travel to Tokyo ended and they posted their couply mirror selca on Twitter with flower bouquet emoji. Despite the one-day difference (the same case for the red moon anniversary), this is not a minor event or small coincidence. I believe Jungkook posted “10000 hour” cover for this reason and based on this, the other theories I mentioned earlier can be true either.
The lyrics hit different if you read them again, after knowing this fact. Right? I don’t want to make this post much longer but before wrapping up, I want to talk about the lyrics of “Anyone” by JB (the song Jikook were harmonizing in Lee Hyun’s Vlog):
Dance with me under the diamonds
See me like breath in the cold
Sleep with me here in the silence
Come kiss me, silver and gold
You say that I won't lose you
But you can't predict the future
So, just hold on like you will never let go
Yeah, if you ever move on without me
I need to make sure you know that
You are the only one I'll ever love
(I gotta tell ya, gotta tell ya)
Yeah, you, if it's not you, it's not anyone
(I gotta tell ya, gotta tell ya)
Looking back on my life
You're the only good I've ever done (ever done)
Yeah, you, if it's not you, it's not anyone (anyone)
Not anyone
Forever's not enough time to (oh)
Love you the way that I want (love you the way that I want)
'Cause every morning I find you (oh)
I fear the day that I don't
You say that I won't lose you
But you can't predict the future
'Cause certain things are out of our control
Yeah, if you ever move on without me
I need to make sure you know that
You are the only one I'll ever love
Only one (I gotta tell ya, gotta tell ya)
Yeah, you, if it's not you it's not anyone
(I gotta tell ya, gotta tell ya)
Looking back on my life
You're the only good I've ever done (I've ever done)
Yeah, you, if it's not you, it's not anyone
It's not anyone, not anyone
Oh, oh, oh, oh
If it's not you, it's not anyone
Oh, oh, oh, yeah, whoa
Yeah, you are the only one I'll ever love
(I gotta tell ya, gotta tell ya)
Yeah, you, if it's not you, it's not anyone
(I gotta tell ya, gotta tell ya) gotta tell ya
Looking back on my life
You're the only good I've ever done (ever done, oh, yeah)
Yeah, you, if it's not you, it's not anyone
If you read the lyrics, you will notice that the context is very similar to “10000 hours”. It talks about the uncertainties of a beautiful love or in other words: No matter what the future brings to us, this love will last forever.
This context of uncertainty and unknown future for a romance is a common concept in many of the songs Jungkook has covered and it’s not limited to the Justin Bieber covers he has done and maybe this concept can be the topic for my next analysis.

LIP×LIP English Translation Masterpost
Tumblr media
keep in mind that Japanese and English aren’t my first language. i never claim my translation (attempts) to be error-free. as always, if you’re going to use or reference my translations, please do not claim it as your own and credit me.
all of my translations are cross-posted on my livejournal.
istg i only meant to translate judge and tsuki no hime because during that time no one picked them for translation and the fandom is so small....but before i knew it, my translation attempts and my love for LIPxLIP piled up and up until you have this (growing) masterpost.

AirAsia Philippines honors 1st Filipino Olympic Gold Medalist Hidilyn Diaz with Unlimited Flights
MANILA, 27 July 2021 – In recognition of her hard work, passion, and sportsmanship best exemplified during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, AirAsia is awarding a LIFETIME FREE FLIGHTS to Olympic Gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz.
Diaz conquered the women’s 55 kilogram weightlifting competition on Tuesday, 26 July 2021 etching a historic first gold win for the Philippines which is about 97 years in the making.
Tumblr media
This is the 2nd olympic gold medal brought by the 30 year old Zamboangena, the 1st during the 2016 Rio Olympics. In the same year, Diaz was awarded with 5-year unlimited flights within the AirAsia route network.
AirAsia Group CEO Tony Fernandes said, “We want all Asean to believe that they can always make it happen. Amidst challenges and struggles as we go forth with recovery, Hidilyn reminds us that no matter how heavy the weight we are carrying, inner strength, perseverance and a heart of gold will help us power through.”
Tumblr media
AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla said, “We in AirAsia would like to congratulate Hidilyn for her wonderful achievement of representing our country and earning our very first Gold medal in the Olympics. We thank Hidilyn for being an inspiration to the Filipino people and for uplifting our spirits.
“Hidilyn is the perfect example of what it means to be an Allstar, by embodying AirAsia core values of Dreaming Big and Making it Happen. We thank her for reminding us that being the world’s best is second to serving the Filipinos. The Allstar family is one in celebrating with Hidilyn, and it is our great honor to serve her onboard.”
In an interview with AirAsia in 2018, Hidilyn shared personal and professional challenges she faced. But through all these, she says it’s important to look back at your dreams and never give up on them.

JANUARY 2021 DIMENSIONS ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULES & REVIEW
Members may earn 3 points each (up to 6 points) for writing, by the end of February 7 KST:
A solo para of 400+ words based on their monthly schedule (does not count toward your monthly total).
A thread of six posts (three per participant, including the starter) based on their monthly schedule.
Threads do not have to take place directly during an important date listed on the schedule, but must be related to what the muse is mentioned to be doing in the paragraph explaining their schedule/the company’s schedule for the month and/or their thoughts on the mentioned activities or lack thereof.
These schedules may be updated throughout the month if new information needs to be added.
Reminder: December schedule posts are due by the end of January 7 KST. Please do not post schedule posts in the fmdschedule tag.
OVERALL COMPANY
Dimensions will be hosting their usual beginning of the year meeting headed by Choi Dongwook this month, as well as the now-normal consultations on creative and music direction. Choi Dongwook will not be present in the directional meetings this year again. The whole company meeting will largely be congratulatory toward the company’s standout acts over the past year or so (namely Dimensions Soloist 3, Unity, and Lucid), but there will be mentions for general plans of all groups and soloists.
Important dates:
January 20: Meeting for company artists and those who work directly with them (managers, PR, etc.) headed by creative director Choi Dongwook. Dimensions Entertainment’s goal statements and overall plans for 2021 will be delivered.
Various dates: In a tradition started in 2018 by creative director Choi Dongwook, all artists will meet with in-house producers and artist and repertoire department representatives to discuss the styles of music and concepts they’d like to pursue in 2020. Choi Dongwook himself will not be present. No promises are made that their wishes will be met, but the intent is to keep open a clear line of communication.
DIMENSIONS SOLOIST 1
After filming the special video and interview last month, it will be released onto YouTube near the middle of January. Overall, she’s still in a resting period after her last comeback, but she will be alerted by management that she’s to film another video for YouTube, this time a sponsored food delivery mukbang video where she’ll eat while talking to her staff about what kinds of schedules she’d like to pursue for the new year. The date of the filming can be worked around her personal schedule.
Important dates:
January 20: Release of “Borderline” special video + interview.
DIMENSIONS SOLOIST 2
His comeback has been internally confirmed for March now that everything is recorded and his team has finished their conceptualization for the comeback. It sticks to Dimensions’ promise of a first quarter comeback, even if by as close a call as they could make it. Preparation for his comeback this month involves shooting his teaser photos and his album photobook while he continues to practice his live performance of his title track.
Important dates:
January 11: Teaser photo and photo book shoot day one.
January 12: Photo book shoot day two.
DIMENSIONS SOLOIST 3
It’s the last month of award season, which means three more performances of her one released single. Her performances have been received well and it’s only garnered her more attention from the public and anticipation for her next comeback. Dimensions is dedicated more resources than usual for a digital single comeback for her next comeback, and she’ll shoot the comeback teaser photos as well as the comeback M/V this month as she finishes preparing to release “Rain” early next month.
Important dates:
January 9: Performance at Golden Disk Awards Day One at Gocheok Sky Dome (also performing: BC Soloist 1, BEE, Lucid, Gold Star Soloist 1).
January 12: Comeback teaser photo shoot.
January 13: Performance at Gaon Chart Music Awards at Jamsil Arena (also performing: Decipher, BEE, MARS, Lucid).
January 14: “Rain” M/V filming.
January 31: Performance at Seoul Music Awards at Gocheok Sky Dome (also performing: Decipher, 2BEE, WISH, Alien, MARS, Lucid).
GAL.ACTIC
Management seems to have narrowed in on a spring comeback for Gal.actic so that they can try to book the group some college festivals. They won’t begin to record for the comeback until next month, though, so, this month, the members instead have two photo shoots for inside spreads in the March issues of two different magazines.
Important dates:
January 19: Photo shoot for Figaro’s March issue.
January 22: Photo shoot for Dazed Korea’s March issue.
ALIEN
Alien wraps up their awards season with performances at the second day of the Golden Disk Awards along with one at the Seoul Music Awards at the very end of the month. Their all-English album releases at the end of the month as well, but there’s not much immediate promotion Dimensions plans for it beyond a few radio interviews due to the amount of promotion they’ve done leading up to it. Instead, the Alien members are asked to prioritize preparing for their Korean comeback by practicing the choreography [2] and going in for fittings.
Important dates:
January 10: Performance at Golden Disk Awards Day Two at Gocheok Sky Dome (also performing: CHARM, WISH, MARS, 7ROPHY, Impulse, Origin).
January 21: M/V and stage outfit fittings.
January 29: Release of All About Luv English album.
January 31: Performance at Seoul Music Awards at Gocheok Sky Dome (also performing: Decipher, 2BEE, WISH, Dimensions Soloist 3, Lucid).
MARS
"Chained Up” earns MARS performances at the Golden Disk Awards day two, the Gaon Chart Music Awards, and the Seoul Music Awards. They’ll be practicing for those ahead of time, but, for the most part, the priority this month is preparing for their Japanese comeback. This involves fittings as well as filming the music video, as continue to practice their performance for that in advance.
Important dates:
January 8: M/V wardrobe fittings.
January 10: Performance at Golden Disk Awards Day Two at Gocheok Sky Dome (also performing: CHARM, WISH, Alien, 7ROPHY, Impulse, Origin).
January 13: Performance at Gaon Chart Music Awards at Jamsil Arena (also performing: Decipher, BEE, Dimensions Soloist 3, Lucid).
January 23: “Depend On Me” M/V filming.
January 31: Performance at Seoul Music Awards at Gocheok Sky Dome (also performing: Decipher, 2BEE, WISH, Dimensions Soloist 3, Alien, Lucid).
7ROPHY
7ROPHY does one more awards show performance with “Lion” at the second day of the Golden Disk Awards, but they’re busier than that behind the scenes as they start to prepare for a March comeback. It’s a slightly shorter time to prepare than the members usually get, but Dimensions wants to capitalize on the renewal of interest “Lion” and Queendom garnered after their earlier 2020 releases didn’t do as well, so they’ll be in the studio to record for the release of their next mini-album. Word has it Dimensions really wants to push 7ROPHY this year to see if they can achieve a consistent level of success and, if they don’t, it may spell being put on the backburner by the company for the foreseeable future.
Important dates:
January 10: Performance at Golden Disk Awards Day Two at Gocheok Sky Dome (also performing: CHARM, WISH, Alien, MARS, Impulse, Origin).
UNITY
As a congratulations for a job well-down in 2020, January is largely a break month (save for members’ individual schedules) for Unity before they jump into recording for their next comeback next month. From talk among management, it isn’t likely the members will get such a big break for the rest of the year, so they’re told to enjoy it while they can. The only schedule requirement they’ll have this month is to film and, in some cases record in the studio, for videos for their YouTube channel. Management has given them each the option of choosing a cover song, a cover dance, an ASMR video, or a vlog. (admin note: For covers, please don’t use specific cover videos from NCT Music / NCT Dance, since those may be used as specific schedules in the future!)
Important dates:
N/A
   ↳ CHAMPION
The members of the sub-unit are told by management that they won’t comeback until the second half of the year, but they do have a concert at Tokyo Dome scheduled in the spring and, this month, they’ll go in to do a photo shoot for Harper’s Bazaar China together.
Important dates:
January 3: Photo shoot for Harper’s Bazaar China’s February issue.
LUCID
Their 2020 success nets them three more awards show performances before the rush of shows comes to an end. Besides rehearsal for their performances and fittings for their red carpet outfits for the shows, it’s the final full month of preparation for their comeback, so they have a lot going on for that as well. Practicing their choreography, M/V filming and photo shoots take up the bulk of those preparations this month, plus fittings.
Important dates:
January 8: M/V and stage outfit fittings.
January 9: Performance at Golden Disk Awards Day One at Gocheok Sky Dome (also performing: BC Soloist 1, BEE, Dimensions Soloist 3, Gold Star Soloist 1).
January 13: Performance at Gaon Chart Music Awards at Jamsil Arena (also performing: Decipher, BEE, Dimensions Soloist 3, MARS).
January 14: Comeback teaser photo and photo book shoot.
January 25: “Fingertip” M/V filming.
January 31: Performance at Seoul Music Awards at Gocheok Sky Dome (also performing: Decipher, 2BEE, WISH, Dimensions Soloist 3, Alien, MARS).
