you’ve pretty much hit it right on the head. i feel like this is touched upon throughout a good chuck of my twins asks in general (especially in this one about their love languages and how they each like to celebrate!) but touya is smooth and suave and dabi is so not. dabi is all rough edges and razor glares, even when he’s desperately trying not to be. dabi is, unfortunately, inherently coarse, as if his soul was born bristly. as such, romance and intimacy are extremely difficult and challenging for him.

that doesn’t mean he’s fully incapable of it, though. dabi’s good at shmoozing others and when he really tries, he can turn on the charm his brother so effortlessly exudes and use it as a tool to his advantage. but this doesn’t work when he’s terrified, when he has to actually be vulnerable, when there isn’t necessarily a selfish, personal gain involved for him.

dabi ends up being unintentionally romantic. quietly romantic. he’s an artist, so his romances end up being sentimental; he takes you with him somewhere to paint the night sky or a pretty landscape (he doesn’t even tell you where he’s taking you initially, just grabbing you by the wrist and dragging you towards his car after you confirm that you are currently free) and swears that he didn’t pack those extra paint brushes + canvases for you; you’re just lucky he happened to have them in his car, and don’t you dare waste his paint!

he makes you playlists randomly, texts them to you without a word of explanation, but is always sure to leave a scrap of paper on your desk, torn from a notebook, detailing why each song reminds him of you, written crookedly in his spiky handwriting. he comes home with rare editions of your favourite old records that he stumbles upon at the thrift store he likes to frequent, or vintage pieces from your favourite high end designers that he thinks you might like, always shoving them at you without holding your gaze and threatening that you better fucking like it, it cost him a fortune.

whenever he tries to be romantic, it always ends up coming out wooden and shaky, tongue tripping over his words or brain short-circuiting halfway through a sentence, overwhelmed by intense, foreign emotion. it frustrates him, especially since all this bullshit comes so easily to touya, and his fury only makes it all worse. it can be calmed with a gentle touch and a few soft words, acknowledging how hard he’s trying without explicitly calling him out.

touya is extremely romantic, almost to the point where it borders on romcom cliche. like i said in the asks i linked you to, he loves to spoil you absolutely fucking rotten, and he finds a deep satisfaction in planning ornate, extravagant events for just the two of you, complete with several new sets of outrageously expensive lingerie (which, yes, he fully expects you to ‘model’ for him later that night), the finest dining experiences, and whatever the heck else you want to do (spas, tours, activities, etc). touya goes above and beyond for actual special occasions (like we are talking full vacations here, stuffed with luxurious gifts and insane amounts of food/desserts), and he’s incredibly skilled in finding flimsy reasons to spoil you or celebrate

todoroki twin swap au where twins Touya and Fuyumi were seperated right from birth after Enji and Rei got a divorce. Years later, Dabi is still an established villain where the whole LoV sees Rei as their Mother FigureTM. Fuyumi is the only daughter of pro hero Endeavor and is very annoyed about all the media running after her all in an attempt to get info about her father.

The twins meet again behind a walmart. Dabi is very pissed because their resident bird spy has been extra annoying pretty that week and his poor heart needs a break. Hence, the big bad villain is hiding in the parking lot of a walmart. There, he sees a random lady who's car has broken down, cursing so hard that even sailors would blush. He was about to look away and pretend he didn't see anything when eyes exactly like his mother is suddenly gazing at him. Oh fuck. Is the psychotic lady his female doppelganger or something? Dabi can now proudly say that even as a woman, he looks hot.

Fuyumi smacked the random creep that kinda looks like a version of his dad if he didn't eat for 2 weeks straight. And also the eyes. No one has those turquoise eyes anywhere. The two officially meet each other when they're sitting side by side eating a mcdonads sundae scone, covered in cuts and bruises. Unofficially, they met each other by fist fighting in a parking lot after Dabi insulted Fuyumi's hair color.

Anyways, random shenanigans where they switch places because it seems like fun. Fuyumi is trying to desperately get Enji and Rei back together while Dabi is doing everything in his power to make Enji forget about his mom. By matchmaking him with Hawks. (the bird says he has a thing for blue eyes. maybe they the old man and hawks can work out after all? - said dabi, the most oblivious man to exist). Fuyumi spents her entire time with the League like an extended vacation where she finally gets a break from life and absolutely crushing the most dangerous villain at mario cart. Satisfaction has never tasted sweeter.

idk how its gonna end but here's a random list of their shenanigans:

Dabi using enji's credit card to buy all the things he ever wanted in life. The old man is missing years of child support anyways. Enji is just confused why Fuyumi would need the perfume to attract birds that is being credited to his account. Maybe she's into birdwatching these days?

Fuyumi meets Rumi in the street and completely forgot about the fact that she's currently dressed as her A rank villain twin, leading to her being pinned by the rabbit hero to the wall - muscled arms choking her. Strangely, all it manages to do is make Fuyumi discover a new kink.

Hawks meets Dabi while he's dressed as Fuyumi and is immediately confused why his bird instincts are going haywire. Yes, she kinda looks like that one villain he's been simping for for months but he's a loyal bird. Why is he suddenly crushing on Endeavor's daughter? He doesn't even like girls?!?!

Fuyumi adopting Toga as her new little sister. She never had a younger sibling before, and the image of Toga with her blood splattered adorably on one side of her cheek as she recounts her new crush on the brown haired hero student is just adorable. This is hers now. Touya can go die in a ditch somewhere as long as Fuyumi gets to keep Himiko.

I found this acrylic on Mercari a little while ago, and it inspired me to start a story that takes place the day of Touya's wedding, written from Rei's point of view. This version of the wedding occurs in "Twin Flames," the rockstar AU I'm creating.

Events in this world deviate a lot from the canon. Dabi's life was the same, and he still lived on the streets after running away, became a criminal to survive, and vowed to expose the lies society held about heroes. (Basically, the same story that is told in "Transilience" before... well... That would be a spoiler. 😂) He never murdered anyone or joined the League, which doesn't exist in this reality, but he does eventually reveal his identity and history.

Endeavor is shamed into early retirement. Hawks, who learned the truth prior to everyone else, stepped down from his position, joining the band full time. Deku and Bakugou currently fill these spots. I'm still fleshing out the details involved in the "big picture" of the world.

While Touya has reconciled with his mother and siblings at this point, Enji isn't present. With so much happening, Touya wasn't ready to contend with his father, but this will be addressed, allowing him a full sense of closure.

I... got carried away, didn't I? 😂 Such is the nature of obsession.

Dabi/Touya Twin AU: Birth-13

Dabi is the younger of the two, born 3 minutes after Touya.

They are nearly identical, except their eyes. Dabi has the crystal blue eyes of his father, and Touya has the chilling silver eyes of his mother.

Their quirks were obvious when they were born.

Dabi had an abnormally high body temperature, and Touya had an abnormally low temperature.

From the moment they were born, Dabi was the chosen one, being named based on Enji's quirk.

Touya grew up in the shadow of his twin but despised the pity he received from it, developing a resentment towards sympathy.

When their quirks finally appeared, both boys pushed each other to get stronger.

Dabi has his blue flames, burning so much hotter than Enji's.

Touya has Absolute-Zero, where he creates ice that comes so close to the lowest possible temperature.

Enji continued to push Dabi harder and harder, instilling the idea that he is only valuable for his ability.

Touya continued to hate how people pitied him, looking down at him like he was weak. He wanted to be seen as an equal.

Shoto was born and suddenly Dabi was worthless to Enji, and he craved that feeling of importance again.

Just before the twins 14th birthday, Enji and the twins were training, when things go out of hand. The boys quirks hit each other, causing steam hot enough to melt skin.

Enji escaped, but assumed the twins did not.

This is how Cremation and Freezer-Burn were born.

God can I just say that I love Todoroki Clan v Batfam fics. However few and far between they are so I’ll be writing this with a Todoroki! Reader in mind. Perhaps a twin of Dabi.

Humans have a natural, visceral attraction to fire. One can’t help but be drawn to its glow.

You were born as Touya’s (fraternal) twin except your power didn’t have to rely on emotions.

You burned the day you were born. Hurting your mother in the process. Scalding her skin as she desperately tried to feed you despite the danger it meant to her well-being.

In spite of her growing hatred for her husband, you managed to sear your way into her heart and make your mark.

Rei adored you. You looked the most like her underneath all the flames and charred skin. She would coo at you while glaring at her failures. She would run her hands through your hair while the room slowly froze when hearing about that kid who asked for your hand in marriage.

You were her precious gem. A jewel amongst the icky, dark, coal the others call her children. She would do anything for you. Anything.

Enji had to admit. He loved you more than his ambitions himself. He abhorred the pained screams you’d make whenever you tried using your powers. Luckily, unlike his eldest son, you were much more susceptible to the idea of not becoming a hero. All of his attempts at another heir were all in hopes that you didn’t have to face the horrid world of villains.

Touya admired you ever since you two were little. Your parents would often speak of how he’d cry whenever you two were separated. Of how he’d wail whenever you’d get burnt by your own quirk as if he was the one who was hurt.

As you grew up, he grew distant. Envious of your flames that were already so strong. Angry that you born several steps ahead of him regardless of being his twin.

Natsuo and Fuyumi bore the brunt of his complaints. His parents were too entranced by your being so who else did he have to talk to?

It all came to a climax when Shouto gained his quirk. You’d never forget the hope draining from your twin’s visage. The flames that surrounded the two of you when he dragged you out into the woods only to take an attempt at your life.

As darkness consumed your vision, you reach out to your brother’s face and choked out as the smoke covered the two of you.

“I will . . . always . . . love you.”

You awoke to your parents in tears, the news that your twin’s body was never found, and your belongings packed in several bags.

You were to study far away. Have a new start. Where you’d forget your brother.

Gotham.

It was a place known for its crime rate, but Enji’s close friend Bruce promised he’d take care of you while you’re here.

You were greeted by one of his sons, Tim. He was around Fuyumi’s age and was utterly fascinated by your powers.

Through him you were able to appreciate your flames a little more. It was hard not to get close to him. You attended classes together, ate together, played together. He even made you equipment and salves that would ease the burns.

It wasn’t long before you found out about his vigilante persona and thus Bruce’s. But for the sake of safety (your own and their’s) you decided to keep that fact to yourself.

Dick often came by once in a while. It was rare but his visits started to become the highlights of your stay in Gotham. He was fun and energetic. Tim and Bruce were great and all but they always had an air of seriousness that reminded you all too well of your family back in Japan.

He’d often sneak you out and teach you some acrobatic moves. Through process of searching good old google about the Robins, you figured out he was Nightwing after a short while.

Although you absolutely despised them now, you couldn’t deny them their credit for reigniting your passion for heroics.

You started training on your own. Control was something you had already practiced in the past. You knew how to stop the flames when it flared up too much. But you never really got to the point of using it for attacks and combat.

You didn’t really get that far. The most you could do without getting suspicious was to ask your father for a tutor in self defense while only adding some of your flames for the extra damage.

Not to mention the fact that a fire based vigilante would definitely raise flags for the family you’ve been living with.

So you started your “hero” life without using much of your flames until such a time that you were able to either go back to Japan or move out to another state.

That’s when you met Jason. You didn’t know much about him at first. Only that he killed a bunch of the thugs that you were trying to handle on your own.

Without him you’d probably have been dead several times by now.

Thus you took it upon yourself to help him in any way you can.

From being a hindrance you slowly started becoming an essential asset to Jason’s patrols. So much so that he often would blow up if you disappeared for a week only to apologize profusely and buy you pizza when he found out you were gone because of exams.

Jason also made you discover a very important part of your power. While your quirk didn’t rely on emotions to be strong within itself, emotions still played a huge part of it.

And as he slowly placed his lips upon yours, a wall of flame sets off.

You never returned to him after that day.

Around your early adulthood, Damian was taken into the household.

It wasn’t that long before you figured out he had no filter and a lot of ego to boot.

He reminded you a lot of a cat. Your parents would never let you adopt one out of fear for you being scratched, or worse a cat barbecue so you often projected that childhood desire of yours to him.

So while he’d hurt you both physically and emotionally, you in turn would return whatever he gave with love and headpats.

It annoyed him to no end. Who were you to treat him like a baby? If it weren’t for your flames he could probably have you on the floor in a minute tops.

But whenever you’d disappear he realizes how much he enjoys your presence.

He was there when you came back after your encounter with Jason. Your burnt and tattered clothes.

He saw the news. He knew that you’ve been going out to save civilians with one of his predecessors. He knew all about your past and your powers.

And he knew that from this day forth, you were never going to leave the manor ever again.

From the hair, Dabi knew right off the bat that you were one of the many Todoroki children; his sibling

What he didn’t anticipate was how much power you would have over him the moment you met his ice blue gaze

A morbid obsession forms in that instant

His signature crazed grin emblazoned on his face that makes you squirm uncomfortably. You’d heard that this villain, Dabi, was once your eldest brother Touya. This patched up monster couldn’t possibly be Touya. Even if you didn’t remember him much, his pictures looked nothing like the creature that stood before you amidst blue flames.

“You’ve certainly grown into a lovely young lady.” He practically cooes out with that husky voice of his. To force more distance between both of you, you lash out with your flame whips to get him back. White hot flames bite at Dabi but instead of hissing in pain, Dabi’s grin stretches wider. Like he was proud of you and your quirk. Where was your back up? You were strong but there was no way you were winning a fight against this seasoned villain.

You’re about to call out for Shoto who you were always paired with as twins were endeared by the public. Before you could even push the first syllable out of your mouth, Dabi moves in a flash and has his hand covering your mouth as he tackles you to the ground.

“Look at those pretty mismatched eyes.” He’s chirping while he paws at your face, turning it this way and that. You’re shocked still at his actions. He could have easily killed you then and there. But he didn’t. When your brain starts to work again, you use your fiery hot quirk to dispel him away from you. Your quirk was affecting him physically but Dabi didn't mentally acknowledge the damage that was eating away at what skin remained on his arms. Charring it until the flames even started to eat away at the leather stapled patches that were covering the previously damaged parts of his skin.

There wasn't much you were afraid of except for your father. But Dabi not reacting to the pain terrified you. What human didn't feel pain?

"Aw what's wrong baby sister? Do I scare you? Yeah I know I don't have much of a pretty face anymore." His hand rubs against his chin, thinking back to what age you must have been when he'd "died". "Rest assured though, I'm your big brother." Like that would make everything better. He was still speaking so sweetly to you.

Why wasn't anyone else showing up? You didn't like the hungry stare that refused to leave you.

You swallow back fear that hammered in your throat "Villain, stay where you are. You have the right to remain silent, but any villainy you commit can and will be used against you in the court of justice."

Dabi really laughs at that. "Oh you're cute." He holds out his wrists in surrender. "You gonna handcuff me Ms. Hero? I'm sure you'll become Japan's Number One Hero if you bring me in." Mockery drips off every word. He wasn't taking you seriously.

Finally you feel the stinging cold of Shoto's ice strike past you and toward Dabi. It was clear that he rushed all the way there. Behind him are the rest of the heroes assigned to the district.

With ease, Dabi dodges the icy spikes of Shoto's fury. He cocks his head your way. No matter what his eyes never strayed from you. "What do 'ya say, Ms. Hero? When you're ready, come find me."

He was gone, swift in his retreat.

His whole reason for being changed that day. The Paranormal Liberation Front had never really been his passion anyway. It was just his means of getting revenge against Endeavor. But he realized he could have his cake and eat it too.

yes, absolutely!! big apologies that it took me so long to finish this, but uGH i love the twins so much!!!!!! i have missed them greatly <3

it would be touya’s idea to implement a behaviour chart, and unlike bmb + sugar daddy natsuo, touya’s primary purpose for creating such a thing is to genuinely help his baby—the sheer power such a position affords him, with the ability to reward and punish in absolutes, is only an added perk.

despite being harsher, with a more hasty, more explosive, more unstable temper than that of his twin (who thrives on complete control and over over everything, including his own emotional responses and reactions), dabi wasn’t sure how he felt about the whole thing the first time his twin brought it up to him. he felt it was too rigid in its authority and feared that it might feel unnatural. however, once touya had explained the true and sincere intention of the chart, promising his twin that it was designed purely with their lover’s well-being front and center in his mind, dabi began to see it as something that could be useful in helping reader grow and learn and cope with whatever she needs to.

as such, the behaviour/chore chart isn’t your stereotypical, run of the mill chart. it’s built on and based around reader’s own specific needs, struggles, troubles, and strengths. touya’s goal is to help her not only establish new healthy habits, but also to maintain the other healthy habits that she had already formed before as she steadily adds to her repertoire, wielding new tools and developing new skills while continuing to strengthen old ones.

the three of them come together to construct a chart each of them feels confident and comfortable with, tailored to reader’s very specific and personal needs, and accompanied by matching rewards and punishments, whose severities directly correlate to the importance of the task or goal.

every month, dabi illustrates a new chart, laminates it, and pins it to their massive chrome fridge. he’s always stunningly creative with it, painstakingly including reader’s favourite things about that particular month, paired with sweet little references to memories the three of them created together during said month the year prior—colourful skis and white peaked mountains for january, wind filled sailboats and magnificent waves for july. touya routinely provides reader with sparkly stickers to use when marking her development.

the twins are nothing if not extremely strict, and reader doesn’t ever have a chance in hell of talking her way out of a punishment once she’s failed to complete a task or goal. they have bimonthly meetings—headed by touya, of course—to discuss progress and problems. it is during these meetings that reader has an opportunity to object to certain goals, modify timelines, or add new tasks (however, all of these must be vetted and approved by the twins). all in all, though, it’s a method that works quite well, and both men are more than ecstatic to see their baby making advancements <3

Do you think in the Todoroki twins au, Touya and Fuyumi both use their quirks on the other unashamedly because the both of them are essentially immune to one another? Touya can burn Fuyumi to a crisp and she'd just stand there with her 'i am disappointed in you' look that all teachers have mastered. And then add Shouto, WHO'S FREEGAME SINCE HE'S IMMUNE TO BOTH OF THEM. Gosh I can just imagine their sibling banter going from 0 to 100 real quick and Rei coming home to a flooded house because the ice doesn't just disappear, Fuyumi, it has to go somewhere.

lol imagine the reactions of others when they see the two going at it in public. Todoroki "we should have stopped at two" Enji and Todoroki "can't the no. 1 hero handle a bunch of kids, darling?" Rei watching as their eldest daughter leave Touya on the parking lot in a block of ice after he made Natsuo believe that he's fire proof too because if Fuyumi can do it then why can't you? Natsuo ended up with first degree burns.

They come back to Hawks, no. 2 hero, looking confused asf if he should help the man who should be in danger of hypothermia yet he's sassing the hero like he ain't stuck as a life sized popsicle. In the end, the hero settled for sitting down on the parking lot with the pretty ice man until the todoroki family came back and Hawks realizes that he was crushing on his idol's son. He sees Fuyumi next to Touya and the two looks so alike that it ain't really good for his bisexual heart, immediately sending a message to Rumi because if he can't have them both, atleast he did his best friend a service.

All in all, their matches always end with a visit to the hospital because even if they are ice and fire proof respectively, it doesn't mean getting hit on the head with an icicle ain't gonna do brain damage to Touya's already meager brain cells.

Fuyumi has earrings, four neat piercing, one stacked over the other, perfect studs, all four containing some type of jewel. You know the sapphire is for her twin because Touya has the same earrings in his own ears, in the same places the Fuyumi does. The pearl is for Natsou, of course, because Natsou’s powers are of water in the same way pearls are (infesting, rottening, making him like his family), the gold and ruby is for shouto, for his fire and ice (for his breaking and becoming) but you still don’t know what the amber stud represents, and today you’ve decided to ask her.

“Fuyumi?”

“Yes darling?”

“What is the amber stud for?”

“What do you mean my dear?”

“I mean you wear a sapphire for Touya, a pearl for Natsou, and a ruby for Shouto. What’s the amber for?”

She freezes, laughs a little, and really turns to face you. “It’s for you darling. I went and got it the day you joined the family.”

That’s the thing, you aren’t part of their family. You don’t belong here, won’t ever belong here. They took you from your home, from your family and sometimes it makes you sick to think about.

“I’m not a Todoroki, Fuyumi.”

She makes a little displeased sound that you know, know means bad things. “Why not dove?”

“You took me from my fuckiugn home, you kidnapped me. I don’t belong to any of you.”

She clicks her tongue, smiles, and picks up her phone, responding to a message, all the while you’re frozen in fear, trying not to scream from what you just said. How could you be so stupid as to make her angry? She’s scary on her own but with Touya behind her, she’s terrifying.

“Dove?” She says lightly, pulling your attention to her, “Did you know that all of our siblings have pierced ears?” You didn’t know that. You aren’t sure where this is going yet, but you know that you don’t like it.

Fuyumi picks up her phone again, texts someone and smiles. It’s not a kind smile, it’s a displeased one and that’s scary.

“I heard our snowflake wasnn’t listening today, hm?” It’s Touya. Your blood freezes up, and you want to throw up. If it were anyone but Touya, the situation might be manageable. Natsuo doesn’t care to hurt, hates the very idea, and Shou is so gentle that you couldn’t imagine him ever doing that but Touya, Touya is mean.

One time you called him. Dabi instead of Touya, and well, you still have the scar.

“Our snowflake seems to have forgotten where we all are in this family of ours.” Fuyumi says lightly, and you can feel Touya’s grin. “Well Yumi, I brought everything you asked for.” Fuyumi smiles, and it’s so fucking cold.

“Darling,” she says, obviously addressing you, “Sit down here please.” You take the ordered chair, freeze when you realize that in a moment, Fuyumi has snapped handcuffs to your hands, trapping you on the chair.

Like any logical person you start to struggle, panic invading like a parasite. A hand rests on your neck, cold and familiar. “Darling, if you keep moving Touya will mess up your new piercing.” Your vision whites you, and when you come to, Fuyumi is crouching in front of you. Her glasses flash, like the warning of an oncoming snowstorm, and she is silence, like the mountains before an avalanche. “Touya managed one of your piercings sweet thing but we still need to do this one. Can you be still for him or do I need to hold you?”

As there always with Fuyumi, there is a threat, a warning not to disobey. Touya is always the more obvious threat but Fuyumi is the cruelty that follows, the avalanche in the wake of violence, the punch of Touya’s scream.

“Can you hold me still?” You whisper, if only not to be complaint in your own torture. She smiles, smoothies, your hair back and suddenly your ears are piercing. The pain hits, like you’ve crashing into a wall, and although it is only a moment’’s worth, the hock of it has you crumbling in the chair.

As she always does, Fuyumi picks you up in the aftermath, gently shushing you. You end up squished between Touya and Fuyumi, the latter petting your hair.

“I didn’t even have to hold you still in the end darling. I’m so proud.”

A pit forms in your stomach when you realize that she’s right
