★ GETTING INTO AN ARGUMENT WITH MHA CHARACTERS (PT. 1)
characters: midoriya, bakugo, todoroki
genre: angst !!
notes: two parter !! just a note that my request box is still open !! love u all <3
Tumblr media
izuku midoriya
Tumblr media
- he always tries his hardest to avoid arguments at any cost, but of course, it’s only natural for them to happen within relationships.
- you always looked out for him like he looked out for you, but for some reason he would never listen as he was so determined to living up to people’s ideals.
- so when you saw him randomly phasing out during the middle of a group conversation with the rest of your class, you tapped his hand, causing him to shake out of his trance. you signed for him to follow you as you got up and walked over to a more private area of the dorms.
“is there something wrong?”, he asked. looking at his features, you could see dark circles coming in. sighing you took his hand into yours, holding it before looking at him. “izuku you know how much i love you, and how much i look out for you and everything. i just- do you think you can maybe tone it down with all the training…?”, you hesitantly asked, head hanging low. you could hear izuku sigh as he rubbed a hand over his face. “y/n, you know i cant”, he started, but you cut him off before he could go on his usual rant. “i just don’t get why. i mean, you’re doing all of this but you’re literally draining yourself while doing it which means you aren’t giving it your best”, you tried to reason, looking back at him. he scoffed underneath his breath at your words. “are you implying that i’m not putting in enough effort or something?”, he asked, his tone starting to become a bit defensive. your eyes narrowed at his words, shaking your head in denial and confusion. “no, that’s not- why are you twisting my words right now? i’m just trying to look out for you-“, “you aren’t my mom, y/n! just give it a rest! i know my own limits, i know when to stop. i’m here to become a hero if you somehow forgot, so just quit getting on me about rest and things like that, okay?!”, he quickly interrupted you. his words left your throat dry, your head lowering to the ground as you subtly nodded your head, sucking on your bottom lip. he quickly took notice at your body language and realized the harshness of his words. “baby, wait- that’s not how i wanted that to come out. i just-“, he started, but you cut him off, shaking your head. “no. i get it. it’s fine. forget i said anything”, you quietly responded, your voice somewhat cracking as you walked away, his hand just missing your wrist as he watched you walk off. he cursed at himself underneath his breath, shame taking over.
Tumblr media
katsuki bakugo
- it wasn’t uncommon to get in arguments with katsuki considering how stubborn both of you were, but none of them were ever really serious.
- something everyone knows about him is that his number one goal was to become the number one hero, and he never let himself get distracted from that.
- turns out, he was serious about not getting distracted, because due to him training, he somehow managed to forget your one year anniversary all day.
- that’s why when he knocked on your dorm room door and didn’t hear anything back, he was a bit confused.
“y/n, it’s me. open up”, he muttered, knocking on your door again. silence. just when he was about to knock again, the door slightly cracked open. “what the hell are you doing?”, he asked, confused at your behavior. “you cant be fucking serious katsuki”, you scoffed. you pulled him into your room before slamming the door shut behind you, turning to look at him. “what are you so upset about?”, he asked, slightly annoyed at your big mood change. “you really forgot our one year anniversary…?”, you asked, your voice somewhat cracking as you leaned back against the door. his eyes widened. he forgot your anniversary. he got too caught up in his training and hero-related activities that it completely slipped his mind, but once again, his pride and stubbornness was too strong to let him apologize so easily. “is it really that big of a deal?”, he muttered, cocking his head to the side. your eyes widened at his words, anger rushing through your veins. “ok, i get you don’t like to admit when you’re wrong and shit, but can you at LEAST apologize for forgetting?!”, you slightly raised your voice, moving closer towards him. he scoffed under his breath, anger quickly taking over him as well. “it’s just a year, what the hell is so special about that?! it’s not my fault you wanna make everything such a big damn deal”, he fought back. your heart dropped at his words. was this really how he saw your whole relationship? “wow. nice to know how much this means to you katsuki”, you muttered. he cursed under his breath as he watched you start to fall into a sad state. “talk to me when you calm down”, you told him quietly, leaving him alone in your own room as you just wanted to be away from him at the moment. once the door shut he groaned, rubbing his hands across his face as he cursed at himself for being so reckless with his words.
Tumblr media
shoto todoroki
- it obviously took him a while to become so comfortable and open around you considering his past, but he managed to do it all for you
- although he was a lot better at being open with you and actually talking things out than he was before, he still struggled every now and then with it.
- and it just so happened that this was one of those days, but it was worse than usual.
- shoto had told you he was going to his house for the day and you knew that usually he’d end up returning in not as good as a mood as before, but when he came back today, he seemed really pissed.
“sho? is everything okay?”, you asked, confused and concerned as to why he came back with such an agitated expression on his face. “fine”, he muttered quickly under his breath, kicking his shoes off as he placed them neatly in a cubby. “clearly not… something happened when you went to visit, right?”, you questioned. it wasn’t uncommon for him to be annoyed in some sort when returning from his residence, but he was never this annoyed. “i told you it’s fine”, he grumbled again. you sighed as you followed close behind him as he took the elevator up to his dorm, where you both usually hung out in together. the elevator ride up was awkwardly silent, you could hear a pin drop even. once the elevator stopped, you both walked out, you following behind him. the silence continued to linger for longer, to the point where it was pissing you off a bit. “shoto, seriously. cant you just talk to me a little bit? i’m not asking you to give me every single detail, i just wanna know if your okay”, you explained, grabbing them hem of his sleeve to make him stop moving. you heard him let out a sharp exhale as he turned around, pulling his sleeve out of your hold. “do you have to be so persistent?! i told you i was fine already, stop shoving your nose in things that don’t concern you”, he snapped at you. you froze at his words, not even knowing how to respond. you quietly cleared your throat, exhaling before responding. “if that’s how you feel… i’ll go. see you”, you muttered, pursing your lips as you slightly nodded, tears glazing your eyes as you walked away, not even giving him the chance to speak. he tried to call after you, but you were already in the elevator, the door beginning to close. he balled his hands into a fist, hitting himself against the forehead as he groaned at his inconsiderate words. he let his anger out at the last person who deserved it and he knew he was in the wrong completely.

━━ 𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘 𝐖𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐆𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔 ;; 𝐕𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐔𝐒
⤷ feat. bakugou, kirishima and todoroki <3
Tumblr media
✧ cw :: reader is dead ✨, gn!reader, angst :))
✧ a/n :: angst angst angst angst YAY I love writing angst, not sure how to feel about shoto's though :/
Tumblr media
katsuki simply disappears. there's not much to stick around for— he can't bear the look of pity his friends cast him when they believe he can't see them. so, he's curt when he talks, and he locks himself within the four corners of his room whenever he can— but the heart-tearing feeling of what he thinks is being weak doesn't drop at his door. he finds weakness in how he tries to envision every word you would say to him, holding onto every single detail of your face, and how you'd cushion your words of comfort. he's ashamed to admit it— as if he's not allowed to grieve— but he sits in the stabbing silence of his room and buries his face into the crook of his bent arm, holding onto how warm it was to be held by you, remembering every note of your laugh and the glint in your eyes when you teased him.
katsuki seems to be dead himself, with how ghostlike he is. he's never felt weaker, and the only person who could arm him with strength from so much as a smile has left him.
Tumblr media
eijirou shatters at every little thing that reminds him of you. a mere mention of your name, the smell of you, a voice that happens to remind him of yours: it all has his heart throw itself against his chest— as if it could find a way to run to you— and the way it collides and shatters over and over again never fails to bring him a wave of sickness. seeing your face among his collection of you in his phone has tears pricking at his eyes— eijirou's cried oceans in your name and if it would bring you back, he'd cry a million more.
his deterioration is alarming— dark roots growing in as if his hair mourns you too— and all he has the energy to do is feel time drag on so slowly it aches. he knows you'd hate seeing him like this, placing a hold on his own life to clutch onto the memory of yours, but he can't find the bravery to try and cope with the hollowness he can't harden against.
Tumblr media
shoto appears as cool as ever. it's off-putting to see him seem so okay— so unaffected by your absence. but, nobody sees the twisting and tearing of his heart and how deeply it overwhelms him. grief isn't something he knows how to grow accustomed to, and the devastation feels like poison he doesn't know how to let out. shoto can't cry over your absence— he doesn't know how. loving you was a feeling you'd guided him through, holding his hand with steady patience, and he wishes you could've helped him learn how to mourn you properly too.
he finds guilt in it— in the inability to sob over you like your friends and family do, but the dull ache eats him up just the same. he whispers his apologies whenever he's alone, and he hopes you know just how much he loves you— and how nothing can fit within the you-shaped home you've built within him.

Hello I really like your Ex husband scenarios I was wondering if you can do a Ex husband scenarios of shouta todoroki
- on it, ive been planning to do this for quite a while but i seem to have the energy to do it now. hope you enjoy ! I’ve been getting absolutely shegged by exams and just absolutely no motivation to make posts but im back, momentarily till u disappear again for months. it is what it is. ENJOY !
———————————————————————————
Ex husband shoto hcs
————————————————————
• Ex husband shoto who after the divorce went to your house every day with a new bouquet of flowers, half red, half white, and a few pink ones sprinkled in there to symbolise you. you told him to stop but he never did, until you moved away.
• Ex husband shoto who became obsessed with finding a prostitute that looked like you to use for his pleasure. it became an addiction. and yet when he found her, had his fun with her, he was left empty. she wasn't you, and that upset him greatly.
• Ex husband shoto who found your new house and cringes at the sight of you and another man in the window after following you home. he does everything in his power to break you both up. going as far as hiring a woman to sleep with the man. it works and you're left alone. your second partner to cheat on you.
• Ex husband shoto who buys a mannequin and dresses her up as you, hes deeply distressed almost all the time after losing you so he pretends you're there when you're not. kissing the mannequin and crying after it doesn't hold him like you did.
• Ex husband shoto who keeps your contact saved as "my precious wife" even after the divorce. he refuses to change it, because to him, you're still there, with him. he begins seeing things that aren't there. you beckoning to him when all that lies in front of him is the balcony edge. he falls for it almost every time.
• Ex husband shoto who finally approaches you and knocks at your front door, sobbing and reaching for you and pleading with you to take him back. he never meant to sleep with your best friend, he was drunk. it was an accident. he pleads and pleads but when he looks up and meets your eyes. a look of disgust is shot at him before the door is slammed in his face.

part two
Tumblr media
synopsis ;; Maybe, you could have done all that and more, and it still would have ended up this way.
Tumblr media
You’re not certain how long you’ve been sitting here, staring at your coffee cup. You’re not sure about plenty of things anymore. Questions keep swimming circles around your head, trying to make sense of it all.
Everything fell apart so slowly. You didn’t even notice what was happening until you sat down. The sorrow and anxiety that danced around his eyes only confirmed what your brain has been telling you for a while now.
You tried and tried to convince yourself to live in delusion. Ignore the warning signs of the inevitable downfall and keep pushing through. Hoping and praying that there would be a light at the end of this dark and long tunnel.
There wasn’t.
“I love you” turned into unanswered phone calls, “I miss you” turned into arguments, dates were missed and anniversaries forgotten. Maybe if you had fought a little harder. Maybe if he prioritized the relationship a little more. Maybe if you loved a little harder. Maybe if you loved a little less.
Maybe, you could have done all that and more, and it still would have ended up this way.
So, now, you’re sitting at the restaurant in the same spot he left your soul broken. The words he said, running a marathon in your head.
“I just don’t think it’s fair to keep this going knowing both our hearts aren’t in it.”
Perhaps his heart wasn’t, but yours was. Even while he was shattering the life you both built together, you still felt your heart yearn for him.
“I met someone,”
Time seemed to freeze whenever those words escaped his lips. Even now, time goes on for everyone, but you stay here, frozen. Stuck in place in the same spot he left you.
“What a sad sight,” one employee said to their coworker. “she looks like a ghost.”
A ghost. That’s what you felt like. Haunting the restaurant in the same spot where he left your love to die. He left you no choice but to haunt the restaurant and stay here forever—hopeful that one day he’ll realize he got it wrong.
“Well, if you ever think you got it wrong, I’m right here. Right where you left me.”
Tumblr media
i could feel the mascara run. you told me that you met someone. glass shattered on the white cloth, everybody moved on
help. i’m still at the restaurant.

HEYYYY i really wanna see a shoto x reader with the HMM HOW DO I SAY THIS the started dating them to see if he could make them fall in love with him/ started dating them as a challenge but ended up falling for them trope WITH A HAPPY ENDING please help 🙏🙏🙏🙏
just a bet
ft. todoroki shouto (bnha)
use of Y/N and L/N, gender neutral reader, quirk’s not specific
bullet form -> full fledged fanfic (basically it’s written in a bullet form but it turns into your standard fanfic format with paragraphs and such)
fluff, angst with happy ending (shouto misinterprets things said)
note(s): i forgor my format so i made a new one 💀 btw i don’t really see shouto dating someone as a bet, but i can’t see any other way to write this request— so i made my own spin and interpretation on it 😁 anaïs from the future here, and i may or may not have gone overboard 😭
»»————- ♡ ————-««
Tumblr media
todoroki shouto
as mentioned in the notes section, i don’t see shouto as someone that’d date someone as a challenge— to see if they’d fall in love with him and such, or as a bet.
shouto’s not really invested in his love life when it comes to when he’ll find someone, but that doesn’t mean he won’t take it seriously.
he saw the domino effect his parents’ failed romance had on his family, and refuses to be in an imbalanced relationship— let alone date someone he isn’t dead set on.
so with that being said, a misinterpretation of words is what triggered the current set of events.
kaminari had noticed that the way shouto looked at you couldn’t be friendly, platonic yearning. whether or not shouto thought he was being obvious of not, or if he even realized it— he definitely had feelings for you.
and it was starting to become excruciating to watch for kaminari— to witness a cool, popular and attractive guy, not date this equally cool, popular, and attractive person he likes.
so then, that’s when it started.
scenario (pt. 1)
hook—
“i bet ¥1,200 that you can’t date L/N, todoroki!”
shouto stops in place, giving kaminari a side eye. “i don’t need ¥1,200. i have more than enough in my pocket money.”
line—
kaminari lets out a sigh, forgetting that todoroki’s pockets hurt. but he doesn’t falter one bit. “i meant that, i bet you can’t confess to them, ‘s all. the money was just a bonus.”
and that’s what really catches his attention. “confess to them about what?” he inquires genuinely, like he was trying to recall if he needed to tell you something regarding this.
kaminari’s eyes dart around, like anyone would be around to witness the absurdly. “that you like them? what else??”
shouto thinks for a moment, and it looks as if he’s trying to recall things from a different perspective. “… have i not been clear?”
“to me, yes. to them.. probably? maybe? most likely no.” kaminari says exasperated, hand now coming up to pat his shoulder. shouto feels stiff as a board under the brief contact. “you’re a popular dude, if they realized then you two would’ve been dating for months now!”
“i don’t think confessing right now is necessary. i believe i’m fine with just staying near them. our friendship.. is quite satisfactory.”
—and sinker.
“so you don’t have any courage to confess? does that mean you’ll just let someone else snatch them up?” after the words left his mouth, shouto makes a significantly obvious pause.
kaminari thinks to himself loudly, “hmm.. i wonder who will it be?” he questions, rhetorically. “should i do it? should class 1-B’s ever so cocky monoma do it? they seem to get along swimmingly. or maaaybe—”
“that won’t be a concern.” shouto coldly cuts in. “because i’ll do it.”
kaminari holds back his smile, instead— replacing it with a shocked expression (which isn’t really fabricated becaus he didn’t think he’d actually fold) “really? woah, i didn’t think that’d change your mind so quick.”
“but then wait, what do i get if you lose?”
“hm, what do you get when i lose..” shouto mimics the question— although its not said as one.
“yeah, we are betting on this, right?”
shouto shakes his head. “then it would be an unfair bet.”
“because i’ve planned on confessing and dating them regardless. i will win.”
and he did in fact go on and win the “bet” by a landslide (if you’d even call it one 😭)
he confessed his feelings— pulling you aside one afternoon after class, heart practically hammering in his chest, and stomach fluttering with butterflies.
and you accepted— which made all the anxiety worth it.
he was the ideal boyfriend. not just because he was tall, equipped with stunning and harmonious facial features with equally stunning manners, but it was also because he was just so good to you, and he allowed you to be so good to him too.
he did things he didn’t even have to do, and it all feels comfortably new even months into the relationship— which made you realize that as unbelievable as it sounds, you’re really dating your crush, todoroki shouto.
you felt so sure of yourself when you’re around him.
and that’s why you reacted so harshly when everything that was built up for months seemingly got demolished in minutes.
the two of you were getting warm drinks, when mineta appeared just a few feet away. “you two make me realize that the train tracks look good to lay down on.” he mumbles bitterly.
you laugh, stirring your drink “really now?” kaminari appears shortly after, agreeing. although he doesn’t look as bitter as your shorter classmate.
mineta perks up at that. “yeep. which makes me wonder.. how long are you going to do this for, todoroki? kaminari already lost, y’know?”
todoroki’s eyes widen at the question, “i don’t.. what?”
kaminari turns his head in mineta’s direction, like he said something of great offense, and was about to say more. “mineta, just don’t man.”
“no no, but i’m like, just super curious y’know?” mineta continues, “like, wasn’t it just a bet for you? how did you two get this far?! this is unfair! i didn’t know it would be that easy to get in a relationship!” your grape haired classmate whines, unable to read the sudden atmosphere change.
kaminari gulps, as you set your mug down.
“what does he mean.” you turn to your dual haired boyfriend, you try to steady your breathing to sound nonchalant, but the slight crack in your voice at the start of your sentence betrays you.
shouto opens his mouth, but it just confirmed it for you when he was a second too late to answer.
“you see—” kaminari scrambles to give an excuse, “it was proposed as a bet, but it wasn’t actually a bet, so technically—”
“that sounds like a bet, dude.”
“mineta—”
“it’s not as it sounds. it wasn’t a bet.” shouto answers, “though.. the circumstances should’ve been different.” he admits regretfully, heterochromatic eyes drifting from your face to your feet, noticing how you shift away from him.
and his body runs cold like a quirk malfunction when you grab your mug— fingertips against the now cool porcelain “i.. i just.. no, nevermind, it’s alright. i’m gonna go now, so..”
you know your face and voice will betray you if you stay longer, so you leave.
and shouto stands there, wondering if he should give you space and watch your figure disappear into the dark hallway, or run after you.
he chooses the later.
scenario (pt. 2)
you heave when you finally reach your room, fingers gripping your mug so hard it might just break. your vision’s starting to blur with tears of all the things you’ve been feeling these last few minutes, which is causing you to drop your dorm room’s key and miss the keyhole several times.
when you get the key in, you turn the lock and almost crumble right in when you feel a warm hand placed on your shoulder. you try not to focus on how it’s grip is firm enough to keep you in place, and blazing with familiarity.
he says your name with desperation, and you open your door more and step into your room to create space— the framing of your doorway practically being an invisible barrier.
“no, just no, i can’t,” you say, feeling pathetic when your face started to become wet with tears. you’re still unbelieving that he’d even do this, but the fact that these few months happened under not so standard circumstances was…
“i thought this was— this was something that’d happen out of those stupid teen movies we’d watch, i thought you’d never— i thought—” you hiccup, bringing a hand up to wipe your face with a hand.
he doesn’t say anything, and just breaks the barrier by stepping in and closing the door, setting your mug down on your desk. he then closes even more distance— the space between his brows creasing as he frowns, looking just as upset as you definitely look.
“when did it start? was it before we became close? was it before you asked me out? who else knew? was it all real—”
“it is real!” his voice booms with volume, clearly panicked that the idea of you thinking that his feelings weren’t real was present.
he settles his hands on your shoulders, an attempt to gather your full attention “it’s.. it’s real. if there’s one thing i’d ask you to trust in right now, it’s this. there’s some things i’d like to clarify.”
“please explain,” you practically plead, “i don’t know what to do with this information. i also.. don’t want to break up with you.”
“if you must come to that,” though he looks at you like he prays it won’t come to that. “it must be under the condition that you’ve hurt me instead. not because i’ve caused you hurt.” he lets go of you to sit down on his knees and at your feet.
“shouto, stand up—”
“i.. it’s true that i didn’t confess normally.” he starts off, ignoring your request. “i’ve liked you ever since we’ve became close friends. the moment i realized it, i assumed i was being obvious about my feelings, but kaminari betted that i wouldn’t have the courage to confess and.. someone would get to you first. i took that as a threat.”
you almost laugh at the idea of a jealous shouto, but you don’t— instead, letting out a strangled cough instead. “but i did not date you just because of a bet. i was challenged, but it was never a bet. it wasn’t a bet because there was no chance i’d never confess.”
you sniffle, bending down to be at his level. he reaches up to wipe his thumbs under your eyes— thumbs grazing at your cheekbones. “did you get anything in return? for winning?”
“i got you. that was all i needed.”
“i see..” you lean closer like you were going to whisper him a secret. but instead, you finally touch shouto by circling your arm around him— one arm wrapped around him, and the other flew to entangle your fingers in contrasting locks of hair.
“my drink became cold.” you mumble, rubbing his back when you feel him shake just as you did earlier.
he wraps strong arms around you, returning the affection.
“i’ll warm it up for you.”

today was the day you thought would never come. a day you thought would only be a figment of your worst dreams. a dream that would never dare phase through reality.
“what happened to when you used to love me?”
you loathed today.
the fear of I hate you, replaces I love you.
you sit across from your ex-lover, teary-eyed and tired. voice hoarse from the screaming argument the two of you just had. the rage and booming of voices became a still quietness, the stillness of acceptance, the stillness of grief.
the grief of losing love, seeing love die.
today, you saw love—die.
“was it me? was it my body? the way I act?”
you sit across from your ex-lover, distraught, trying to make sense of the situation unfolding. You got no response, being met with silence and an absent gaze.
you let out a shaky sigh, nose twitching as tears flooded your eyes.
“if you’re going to cheat on me, I deserve a fucking answer.”
a beat goes by, two beats, three beats, and another.
“No.”
No?
“there is nothing wrong with you, y/n.”
“so why did you cheat?”
silence…
“I…I don’t know.”
he doesn’t know.
“you don’t know?” you spat with venom, voice shaky, yet timid. the tears that brimmed against your eyes fell with one swift movement.
you hung your head low, quiet sobs turns into a broken, somber laughter.
You quickly slam your fists onto the table.
“I gave my everything to you!”
Todoroki looks at you, eyes filled with a dark void, unresponsive.
you didn't want to believe it in the beginning, you thought his little slip-ups were for a valid reason, from never picking up the phone, not answering your voicemails, coming home late into the night, and leaving early in the day.
the smells of her perfume, the hickeys on his chest. even though the two of you would regularly have sex, you never gave him hickeys...
"you sound delusional y/n," he said.
"why would I ever cheat on you? you're the only woman in my life," he said.
"I love you," he lied.
and maybe you were acting delusional, maybe it was just a figment of your imagination. Todoroki was a loving husband and an incredible father, he was also your best friend. nothing could have made you think otherwise.
but, love is blind.
the first time you caught him, you were visiting his agency, wanting to surprise him with some homemade lunch and some cookies the kids made.
your heels click-clacked onto the polished floors. a smile on your face as you greeted the staff with a respective bow.
today was supposed to be a good day.
Walking into the office area, you spot one of your close friends, Todoroki's comrade, and also a close friend, Iida. smiling his way you walk towards him, he turns your way with a smile but for some reason, his smile falters.
"y/n! I didn't know you'd be in today? why didn't you call?" he says, you detected a slight waiver in his words. tilting your head you scoff, "why would I need to call in to see my husband at his own agency, Iida?"
"no reason! it's just he's super busy with something right now so you might want to come back later--"
"listen, Iida, I just want to drop off some lunch me and the kids made for him. can I do that without you patronizing me? cut your old friend some slack, class president."
you begin to walk away until Iida takes grasp of your shoulder, "y/n!"
"yes?" you shout with irritance, Iida begins to stammer a little. "what is it?" you grow irritated with his antics.
"um, I just walked in to say–"
The both of you hear a door open, snapping your heads to the sound you see a woman walking out of your husband's office adjusting her clothes, and fixing her hair.
eyeing the girl down, you shrug Iida's hand off your shoulder and storm into his office. "hang in there, y/n!" he yells.
walking into your husband's office you see him adjust his tie, "who the hell was that, Shoto?" your voice catches Todoroki off guard. But not enough for him to show it.
"what're you doing here? I thought you took off work to be with the kids?" he says. "I was...me and the kids made lunch for you." you throw the bento box onto his desk, "don't bother coming home tonight."
you start to walk out until Todoroki grips your waist and slams you into the door, slamming it shut. you try to struggle out of his grasp, but he was stronger than you by a landslide.
"stop fighting me, y/n"
"let go of me, you bastard." you curse under your breath as your eyes begin to water, Todoroki leans down and plants a soft kiss on your lips.
you were so mad at him, so angry, yet you melted into his touch.
kissing him back, you tangle your fingers into his red-white locks. Todoroki lifts your legs up around his waist, walking over he softly sets you on top of his desk. Deepening the kiss, you let out a moan.
Todoroki starts to kiss your neck, throwing your head back, you allow him more access. opening your legs wider you feel his bulge grind against your entrance, he groans at the feeling.
before you could let things get any further, you push him away from you. breathing heavily, you stare at him, his eyes seem darker than usual. "who is she?" you spat. Todoroki lets out a displeased sigh, "she's no one you need to worry about--"
"who. is. she." you angrily whispered.
rubbing his face, he backs up from your figure, hands still wrapped around your waist. "she's an intern, transferring from Midoriya's agency. she... doesn't like the position she's currently stationed at. so she walked into my office and began to strip and flung herself onto me."
you curl your lips into a thin line as your eyes water, "but, I stopped her as soon as she started it. and I fired her, blacklisting her from any other UA-affiliated agencies."
you let out a relieved sigh, smashing your lips into his, you smile. being thankful you had such a wonderful, loyal, husband.
"I love you, Shoto."
you loved him...
Then, these little appearances between him and "interns," were more frequent than you thought.
you and Todoroki attended a yearly banquet for all of the UA hero course alumni, tonight you were able to catch up with so many of your old friends, it felt like old times back when you were a teenager.
"you and todoroki have been a thing for how long, now?"
"8 years! our fifth-year wedding anniversary will be in October, actually." people could tell by the way you gushed whenever you talked about your husband and kids. they were your pride and joy, obviously.
"wow, that's amazing y/n, y'know maybe if Mina would stop partying around like a drunk pansy, we would actually be able to settle down and have some kids." you laugh at Kirishima's complaint.
"you, Mina, and the words 'have some kids,' don't quite match, sadly" you laughed.
Kirishima chuckles, turning his head he frowns. "oh god, here comes this narc." turning your head you scoff at the sight before you, "oh, Monoma!' you "happily" shout.
Monoma walks over, trapping his arm around Kirishima, he slurs over his words. "look what we have here, more shitty 1-A students."
he's obviously drunk.
"how've you been Monoma?" you smile.
"I've just been busy being successful, having the 5th-ranked best hero agency in the country. having multiple successful businesses, and I'll be putting out a book soon. can't say I haven't been blessed."
Kirishima rolls his eyes, "you'd think with all those 'blessings' you'd be blessed with a better personality." you can't help but let out a quiet chuckle.
"and you'd think after all these years, you'd be more successful than me. all you have to your name is a sidekick title and a failing marriage, too bad though." Monoma gulps the rest of the wine, letting out a burp he blows it into Kirishima's face.
"oh, fuck you!" Kirishima pushes Monoma off him in anger, slamming him into the floor. you could see his spikes start to ripple off his skin. You lay a hand on Kirishima's back and frown, trying to console him.
"y'know what Monoma, I think you need some water," you say.
Monoma, looks into your eyes and shows a sinister smile. Stumbling back up he walks towards you. pointing his finger in your face, you scowl.
"do you know what you need?" he chuckles.
"hm?" you anticipate his answer, sipping slowly from your glass of wine.
"you need to figure out that your husband has been sleeping around with my secretary and all the interns in the fucking city." he laughs loudly, your eyes widen in shock.
"excuse me?"
"not fucking cool bro!" Kirishima yells.
"oh please, stop with the act, you know too! everyone knows! and you would know too y/n, only if you weren't so busy playing mommy-maid you'd figure it out!"
You didn't know what to say, honestly. Your eyes water, "everyone knows this?" you look at Kirishima. He frowns, giving you all the answers you needed.
"sorry you had to learn about it this way, I'm the last person who wanted you to figure it out like this--"
Monoma's mantra was cut short with a sharp splash of white wine (and the glass) to the face.
"go to hell!" you screamed.
so you were right all along...
all eyes shoot towards the three of you, Kirishima looks around and tries to calm you down. but you turn into a cursing frenzy, some of your classmates came to your aid.
"Hey, what's going on?"
"are you alright?"
denki, mina, shoji, and ojiro come towards you. circling around and shielding you from the other's gaze.
"I thought you guys were my friends!" you cried, dropping to your knees you cry harder.
"we are your friends! what would make you think otherwise?" Ojiro asks.
"she knows..." Kirishima adds.
everyone backs up from your figure, looking around frantically. Mina speeds off to find Todoroki.
to summarize, you were oblivious to the cheating.
it was already embarrassing enough that some sponsors recorded the interaction and posted it on the internet.
After that night, things changed forever.
You moved out of the house, taking the kids with you. You resined your position with your agency and started to stay at home with your kids permanently, at least until your funds couldn't support that option anymore.
Todoroki was never at home anymore, he was always out. Either out patrolling, sleeping around, or getting drunk.
and here you are today, sitting across from your ex-husband, finalizing your divorce.
"I gave you my heart, my soul, my body, two beautiful children..."
"I gave you something you never had, I gave you love."
you sat, with your head down, licking the inside of your cheek. you let out an exasperated sob before quickly composing yourself once more.
"I gave you a family"
Todoroki's eyes shed a single tear.
"I-I'm so sorry, please forgive me...please y/n"
shaking your head, cry even harder.
"a-and to even think...to even think that I would be with you forever. to be at fault for thinking we would grow old together, to be at fault for thinking we would both finally have a healthy family, to be at fault for thinking that I was happy!"
Todoroki cries harder.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry" falling onto his needs and crawling over to your legs, bowing his head down he rubs his hands together, begging for forgiveness.
You look down at him in disgust, you feel bad for him, you shouldn't, but you do. Swallowing the lump in your throat, you get up from your seat.
"get up."
Todoroki scrambles and gathers himself to his feet.
Gazing up at his eyes, one icy and one golden, your lips tremble.
Leaning into him, you rest your hands on his face. Todoroki slips his hands onto your waist.
"please..." he trembles.
lifting his hair from his head, you plant a soft kiss on his forehead. Softly, you push yourself away from his embrace. Digging into your purse you pull out the final documents for your divorce.
Looking at the calendar you read the date, October 22nd...
"happy anniversary."

Return of the Sun - Touya x Chronic Pain! Reader
Requested by @chelseaquake - Prompt: You feel your soulmate's pain, Touya causes Reader to have Chronic Pain.
Tumblr media
When Touya left his home, he’d not been concerned about all the things he’d be missing.
Who cared about education when their life shattered to pieces in front of them?
But he’s in his twenties now, faced with the terrifying prospect of having to live for a few more decades. What’s he going to do with all this time?
Who hires high school dropouts who tried to overthrow the government?
-
“Don’t worry about it.” His father says. “You have to get better first.”
Touya can see it now, the care behind the arrogance. How his father worries in his own way, telling himself that as long as he’s got everything under control, this fragile thing he calls a heart can’t break.
It’s fascinating too, getting to know his family as they are now, comparing them to what they used to be.
Shouto’s not so good at reading people, but he’s good at reading him. Understanding what he needs and when he needs it. When to keep quiet and when to speak up.
Natsuo’s better at being annoying, a necessary distraction to keep the demons at bay.
Fuyumi and his mother are two sides of the same coin. Where one uses a soothing touch, the other needles him until he moves.
It could be good, this new thing they have going on… if it wasn’t for the pain.
-
His hands hurt. Touya tries not to use them, but they still hurt in a way that pushes tears into his eyes. They look fine, too, like he could use them normally, but just the thought of motion makes him want to throw up.
His skin is sensitive too. Hurts where it’s touched.
It sucks to long for a hug when the weight of a soft blanket has him fight back pained sobs. Fuyumi gets rid of all sweaters with zippers when he tears up at the sight of them. Wearing them is pure torture.
Shouto shaves his hair short when he complains that the longer strands hurt - Natsuo is the one who brings in bright blue hair dye.
The pain brings nausea, awful moods, and an exhaustion he’s never known before. There are days when he just sleeps, too tired to eat or see any of his therapists.
If he had a bit more brain capacity he’d wonder how he’d deal with it without his family, but he’ll rest for now, let them do their thing.
-
“It’s Soulmate-Pain.” The first doctor explains with a shrug. “There’s nothing you can do about it.”
Too bad that he’s talking to the Todoroki’s. They’ve always believed in bulldozing their way through problems, creating paths where there had been walls before.
They draw blood and take X-rays, do test after test after test. Some old lady comes in to kiss him, only to leave a little disappointed - what was that about?
Touya gets drugs - not the good kind - and while they help with the pain, they make his brain so foggy he forgets what he was doing halfway through, finds himself in the kitchen without pants on or trying to explain something to the bathroom faucet, having mistaken it for Shouto.
Eventually, the doctors agree on something.
He’s got Chronic Pain, both from his own past and the poor soul on the other side of his soulmate bond. Whoever they are, Touya feels for them, and can’t help but wonder if he’s the one who started this vicious cycle. What if they got Chronic Pain because of him?
What if - and that thought has him in a chokehold for days - he hurt them before, unknowingly?
-
His mother finds a self-help group for people with Chronic Pain.
Shouto drives him there. It’s still surreal to think that he’s going to work for his little brother in less than a week. It’s just a part-time job for now, helping in the archives at the agency, but it’s something to do to keep his mind off the pain and the demons still hiding away in the corners of his brain.
“I’ll pick you up in two hours.” Shouto reminds him. “Have fun.”
“Harhar.” Touya rolls his eyes, walks the short distance to the front door.
He’s not expecting much from this.
If he gets one good conversation out of this, he’ll be surprised.
.
“Hey, are you new here?” A voice calls out and his head shoots up. Pain erupts from the muscles of his neck, screaming against the sudden movement.
Your hand snaps up, clutching the part of your neck that hurts him too.
Touya stares, wide-eyed and breathless, as the truth registers in your eyes.
He’s not sure what he expects. Maybe an insult, maybe something else.
Not the soft “Oh.” that slips from your lips like glass marbles, glittering in the sunlight.
x-x
The self-help group meets every week.
Touya hasn’t missed a meeting in the last three months, despite the pain he’s in.
You’re getting better at distinguishing it, too. Which pain is his and which is yours.
.
The meetings, which had been your main source of comfort, had lost their calmness through his presence alone. It’s not that you had doubted having a soulmate, not after doctors had used them as an explanation for your continued pain for years. But seeing him, experiencing it, is a wholly different thing.
.
He’s pretty, even when the ridiculous bright blue hair-die has started fading away, leaving patches of white in between. You can’t help but stare at him when he talks, the ripple of his scared skin moving when he speaks, wondering if you could feel the scars on his lips in a kiss. Even when he’s not speaking his sight is a distraction. The bright turquoise of his eyes that cuts through every thick silence never seems to leave you even when there’s a gaggle of people in the way.
But it's not just the way he looks, that keeps drawing you in. It's the way he talks, the way he listens. Not just to you, but to everyone else in the room. Not once does he paint himself like the one who's drawn the worst cards and more than once have you found him sitting with one of the older members after the group meeting has ended, listening intently when they tell him about their worries or show him pictures of their grandchildren, pets, plants.
He's caring, in his own special way. It shows with his family too, putting his little brother in a headlock when he comes to pick him up, or whistling after his sister when she wears the ugliest sweater known to man as she gets out of the car.
Even if you tell yourself not to look, to keep your distance and yourself safe, you can't help but notice. He might be the reason you've got chronic pain in the first place, but it could also be the other way around. The day comes when you stop caring about the specifics.
.
When you agree to go out with him - just grab a cup of coffee and talk this thing over, your heart’s beating too fast for it to be casual.
His hand moves to take yours at the crosswalk, but the pain shooting through your fingers tells you exactly why he stuffs it into his pocket instead.
You grab his sleeve instead, hold onto it with the hint of a smile.
“This works too.” You explain, try not to read too much into his pained smile.
.
One cup of coffee turns into three hours at the coffee shop over shared hot cocoa and ridiculously expensive sweet treats.
Your stomach hurts from laughing too much and tears threaten to spill when he continues voicing the conversations of strangers passing by. His humor is snarky, but never hurtful. You bite your lip to stop yourself from snorting and his eyes fly to your mouth with a hunger you hadn’t anticipated.
You freeze, breathless and quiet, scared and thrilled at the same time.
The moment is lost when the barista asks you to leave, pointing out the shop’s closing time.
Your hand reaches for Touya’s sleeve when you step back out into the cold and he’s already there, close enough that you can smell him, smoke and sweetness, the comfort of something well-known, and the thrill of something new.
“Do you wanna come up?” You ask when he walks you to your doorstep. “You should eat something decent for dinner instead of cupcakes and brownies. I could make us some curry.”
“I don’t want to hurt you.” He says and you understand what he means without him having to explain it. It’s in the way his hands move to grab you while he leans back at the same time. It looks ridiculous, but isn’t that your life? Trying not to move too fast while wanting to plunge yourself into this headfirst?
Your hand finds his cheek, cradles the softness of a face that has seen the worst and still kept going.
“I know.” You say, because you do. “Neither do I.”
x-x
Touya has started sleeping on his side, just because you do.
His coworkers joke about the way he carries himself and he has to snicker himself when he catches himself waddling as if he’s the one with a baby weighing him down.
He’s not looking forward to the birth, but can’t wait to finally meet the youngest Todoroki.
It’s not going to be sunshine and roses, not with your pain and his, with the limited job options for people with chronic pain, ex-criminals, and High School Dropouts.
But isn’t that life, really?
To smile, even when it rains, believing in the return of the sun.

̶̶̶̶ ̶«̶ ̶̶̶ ̶ ̶ ̶̶̶ ̶«̶Requests open »̶ ̶̶̶ ̶ ̶ ̶̶̶ ̶»̶ ̶̶̶ ̶ ̶
Clothes, toiletries, shoes, snacks, and your carry-on. Yup, you're all packed. Only one last thing to do before you left for your flight.
Today, you're leaving for a week long trip for your job. You're leaving, and Todoroki's staying. As much as he would love to come with you, he has things to care of while you're gone. You're all packed, ready to head out the door, except for the last -most important- thing you have to do before you leave.
You leave your bags at the front door, opting to search for the boy in question. You find him sitting at the edge of your bed, scrolling through his laptop. "Sho, I'm ready to go, wanna start?"
He looks up, smiling at you and setting his laptop to the side, meeting you at the bedroom door in a few quick strides. "Yeah," he leans down giving you a quick kiss on the lips, "go ahead to the living room, I'll get the supplies."
You follow his instructions, sitting down and making yourself comfortable as you wait for him to get the items needed to draw your blood. Usually, Shoto feeds from you, but since he can't go with you, plus you're going to be gone for a week, you made the decision on him drawing blood from you to keep him fed while you're gone.
He comes into the living room, sets everything down on the table, and turns to you. He offers you his hand, a sign to give him your arm. When you do, he pauses. "You should probably lie down." You do, keeping your arm outstretched to him and relaxing on the couch. "Let me know if it hurts too much."
He goes the full nine yards, wrapping a tie around your arm, rubbing his finger over the spot he picked to make sure the blood is pumping. He does it all. He gives you one last look, needle in hand, before sticking you with it, watching your blood filter from your body, into the bag next to you.
"You sure that'll be enough?" you ask, noticing he only has two blood bags.
"Yes, Love. I'll need to pace myself while your gone," he says gently, bringing his hand up to rest on your cheek.
You smile, turning your head a bit to look at him. "I wish you were coming."
"I wish I was coming too. but it's ok, you'll be back in no time," he laughs slightly, "and I'll again get to drink from the sweet source." He leans over, playfully nudging his nose again your cheek, making you squirm and laugh for a moment before lays his hand on your stomach. "Don't move too much."
His tone says he doesn't want to waste any blood that might drip, but his eyes say he just doesn't want to accidentally hurt you, needle being in your arm and all, so you settle smiling at him and waiting to be done.
"Ok, one more, almost done," he says, pressing his thumb to stop the flow, changing the bag and securing it before hooking up a new one and letting it start filling again. "You're doing so well. Thank you for this." Shoto settles his hand into yours, rubbing his thumb in circles on your skin.
"Of course, anything for you, Sho. Just don't get caught with blood bags in the fridge and medical supplies in the bathroom while I'm gone," you joke, earning and laugh from him.
About halfway through the second bag, Shoto notices your eyes starting to flutter shut. You're fighting unconsciousness. Shoto scoots closer, his hand instinctively going to your shoulder. "Y/n? Hey, Love, do you need me to stop?" He barely waits for an answer before his hands are creeping down to unhook everything.
"No, no, I'm ok," you sigh weakly, "want- want you to finish."
Todoorki bites his lips, looking down at the three-quarters-filled bag. 'Ok, ok. Almost done, almost done, baby," he says quickly.
The second the bag is filled he wastes no time unhooking the needles and stopping everything, checking over your whole body, listening to heart rate, and letting you lay on the couch as he cleans everything. This is the first time you had done this, and everyone reacts to getting blood drawn differently, so it's not even a thought as Shoto offers to instead drive you to the airport, wanting you to rest in the car ride, of course, giving you and a small bowl of cereal and juice to eat before heading on the road.
"Thanks again. You know it means a lot," he says, pulling up to the airport drop-off area. You'd slept the whole ride, getting enough strength to make it through security, to the gate, and on your plane, where you'll probably sleep the whole ride.
"Of course, Sho. No regrets," you smile. "Be safe while I'm gone."
He laughs and frowns. "That's my line."
You smile. “Yeah, guess it is.” You lean to him, giving him one last kiss goodbye. “Love you.”
“Love you, too”
--
Your trip went well, and you're happy to be coming back. You missed Todoroki and your home. The first two days, things seemed fine, he'd text you and call when possible, keeping you updated, after though, things got quieter until it was just plain silence.
You chose not to let yourself worry, burying yourself in the work you had to do while you were gone and not thinking about it, knowing he's fine, he's strong, and he'll be home when you get back. Judging by the text you got from him before you boarded the flight home, you knew the last few days must have only been paranoia and circumstances:
See you soon, Y/n.
You pull up to your home and get out, getting your bags and walking to the front door. There's something running through your veins. Partially excitement to see Shoto again, but also something else. Fear? Dread? You weren't sure, but whatever it is, it still pushes you on as you unlock the door and open it.
If it wasn’t fear that you felt before, you definitely felt it now. The house was dark, only light coming through the blinds lit it enough for you to see. And it’s cold, any colder you’d be able to see your own breath. Things are scattered everywhere, almost like someone went into a fit of anger and started throwing things.
You leave your bags on the floor, forgotten about as you step forward, Shoto’s name on the tip of your tongue, but dying in your mouth before the first syllable even comes out, a flash and small burst of cold air going past you, and then you feel arms circle you from the side, pulling you into a cold body.
Your breath is caught in your throat as you feel Shoto’s breath on your neck. You try to speak, try to move, but he’s strong, keeping you pinned against him, even at the weird angle.
His hand grasps your neck, tightening around it and keeping you still as he leans in. You feel panic start to rise in your bloodstream. What could’ve happened? He said you left enough blood, everything should have been fine. But you know this, you know the signs, you caught a quick enough glimpse of Shoto’s blown pupils. The way his usual eye colors are gone, you feel his tight grip in every move he makes. The look on his face tells it all.
This is Shoto’s bloodlust.
He’s only been in bloodlust twice before around you, but both of those times it wasn’t necessarily geared toward hunger, but now, you’re not sure what’ll happen. But you still hold on to the thought that Todoroki knows you, he loves you, and he isn't going to kill you. He’d rather go through all his life again and have to redo every moment again before he drained you of all the blood you need to live. You trust him.
Todoroki squeezed his hand around your neck, making your pulse jump once again as he drags you to his mouth, also leaning down all at the same time and opening his mouth.
There’s no second thought, no hesitation or regard, only the pain of the bite. The feeling of his fangs digging into your skin, eager and draining your blood. It’s fast, so fast you can almost feel the blood rushes out of you, a big change compared to how he usually does it, slow and steady, letting you savor the tranquil feeling like you usually do.
You can feel his arms wrapped firmly around your body, and for a second, he pulls away, but only so he can turn you, making your chest flush against his as he digs his fangs into your skin again.
This time, it only lasts about ten seconds before you feel your vision to go. Your body feeling heavy, and suddenly so much more tired than seconds ago. Your eyes flutter shut, and your legs go out, consciousness slipping from your grasp.
Todoroki feels your body going limp, and he secures his arm around you, keeping you against him as he continues to feed. He carries you to the bedroom, his mouth still attached, and he lays you on the bed, his body fully over yours as your blood begins seeping from his mouth, and he continues to feed.
Shoto loves you, he protects you, you trust him. Shoto would never kill you.

shouto todoroki x fem.reader
shouto todoroki has been your best friend since your first year at UA, you’ve watched him blossom and grow as a person not under his family’s shadow. so why is it that neither of you can just admit your feelings for the other?
season six spoilers. manga spoilers. not everything will be accurate to either as this is a fic thank you <3
warnings: angst. mentions of death. violence. shouto being a dunce when it comes to love. frustratingly stupid idiots who are in fact in love with one another. drinking. anxiety attacks. vomit. ptsd flashbacks. everyone is in fact traumatized. brief mentions of sex, no actual smut though. a wee bit of drinking and driving, but don’t do that. it’s awful and bad.
Tumblr media
Those first few years after the war really affected and shaped everybody.
You remembered that first night, after the fighting was over and the sense of peace had returned. Every civilian was celebrating, and maybe you guys should have been too. After all you were just kids, you should all be happy that you kicked ass. None of you could do it though, instead, you all sat in the common room together. Everyone either bandaged, burned, or even just emotionally scarred. Aizawa sat in the room with you, and tried his best to find the right words to say.. He couldn’t though, he knew that everything you all just witnessed was something that couldn’t be washed away with a simple ‘you were heroes’ speech. Shouto was next to you on the floor, your shoulders touching. Neither of you had said anything, not since you first spotted him when the fighting was over.
“Where is Shouto?!” You were yelling at anyone you saw, any classmate. Kaminari was trying to hold you down, you were pretty banged up and the medics were certain you had a broken ankle.
None of that mattered to you though, because you didn’t know where he was. You saw Bakugo, and that was all you needed for your panic to start. The last you heard, Shouto was fighting Dabi, he was fighting his brother. You kept shoving past people, your ankle throbbing. Kaminari was calling after you, trying his best to get you to stop, to slow down. He even threatened to shock you a few times. They were empty threats of course, and he knew it was no use. Sero eventually joined Kaminari and kept threatening to tape you up. It wasn’t until there was ice bursting one of the medic tents open that they both realized they needed to just let you go.
Todoroki came out of the tent, at least three medics trying to stop him and pull him back saying that he was suffering from extreme exhaustion and that any intense activity could make him unstable. He just kept saying he needed to find her, throwing them off of him. Finally, after following the ice, you spotted him and he spotted you. Both of you stood still for a second, looking each other over to asses the damage done to the other. The voices and sounds around you muffled out as you stared up at the taller teen. His two-toned hair was disheveled, and an honest mess for once. There was something else though that was different, Shouto Todoroki’s eyes were filling with tears.
Without a care in the world about the fact your ankle was now sending searing pain up your entire leg, you took off in a hobbled run towards him. He did the same towards you, except he was much quicker and his strides were longer. When you two finally met in the middle you were being lifted off the ground as you sobbed into neck. Todoroki lost his balance but caught himself as he finally just sat on the ground with you wrapped around him. Anyone who knew Todoroki knew that this much affection, this much touching, went outside of any comfort zone he had. He didn’t care though, because he was holding you.
From the moment the fighting ended, the moment he saw how many heroes had fallen, all he could think about was getting to you. He was trying to find you when the medics finally caught him and tried to force him to relax. He was trying to be calm and rational, after all he knew his body and it was spent. Still though there was something that was keeping him going as he saw classmates being carried in on stretchers.. He needed to make sure that you were okay. So as you sat on the ground with him, and pried you away to look you over. He was gentle as he tried to assess the damage that had happened to you. Finally you winced when he touched your leg and his eyebrows furrowed. He stared at you intensely, like he was trying to read your mind as to what was wrong.
“I think my ankle is broken.” You whispered, finally noticing how close your face was to your best friend/long time crush’s face. He let out a distressed ‘tch’ sound before he looked up at the medics that were still standing around you both, he instructed them to take care of you first. They took you both back to a tent (one that wasn’t filled with ice) and started to treat you. Todoroki refused to leave your side after that moment.
After Aizawa finally did it in himself to give a speech about how he was damn proud that you were his students, nothing about how well you all fought, or what to do next. Just that he was proud of you all, you all knew it was his way of telling you he loved you guys. After awhile of sitting there, you all decided that you were going to just camp out. Sato offered to bake for everybody, Kaminari and Jirou suggested they played music for everyone, Momo even conjured up a projector screen to all watch movies on. Everyone went to their dorms, to collect any and every pillow or blanket you all owned. Todoroki followed you to your dorm, because you owned more blankets than anybody there really.
“I can carry more,” You suggested as you put another blanket in Shouto’s outstretched arms. There was a crash from down the hall, someone dropping something, and you lurched forward ready to fight all over again. Shouto dropped the blankets, and grabbed your now shaking hands, “I.. I..”
“I know,” He held your hands and stared down at them. The difference in temperature in both of his hands soothing you and bringing you back down to Earth, “Seems a little morbid to go and have a movie night as if we didn’t just fight a brutal war, huh?”
“G-glad you finally understand what doesn’t seem normal socially,” You teased, a small chuckle leaving his lips before he met your eyes again, “I was so scared that I was going to lose yo.. Lose anybody, the entire time I was fighting,”
He noticed that you almost said “you”, but he thought of it has just a misuse of words due to your current stress. That was when he finally realized that he was fighting for you. Especially when Dabi mentioned that Shouto had a weak spot, that weak spot was you. Dabi caught sight of it after his big reveal, when you were standing down below with Midoriya and staring in shock. When you rushed to his aid after Dabi originally tried to kill him. You were Shouto Todoroki’s weak point, because he.. He felt different for than he did for anyone else. He just didn’t know how to articulate that into words. He wanted to so badly, but he didn’t know what it was he wanted to say.
“Hey dudes, whoah, whoops, sorry,” Kirishima was at your door, and noticed Todoroki holding your hands. You both instantly pulled away from one another and looked at him, “We were wondering if you could bring down your beanbag chairs too?”
“Oh, yeah of course,” You smiled at him, “Mind helping us?
Kirishima helped you both collect the beanbag chairs, and the blankets. Both you and Shouto still awkward over the entire moment. Everyone in class found their spots on the floor, and again you were right next to Todoroki. You all watched kids movies that night, not wanting to watch the usual action movies that the boys would typically pick on these nights before. Aizawa and Eri had joined you all though, so Eri wasn’t complaining at all as she took turns sitting with everyone and hugging them all. Eventually, you all stopped fighting it and let yourselves find sleep. For two weeks, that’s how you would all sleep, together on the floor like that. That way if someone had a nightmare, there was always someone there to help them.
five years later.
Even after everything that happened with All for One, there were still villains that existed in the world. So most of you continued on to continue to becoming Pro-Heroes. There were a few that chose different routes, like you. You were still a hero, you were still a pro, but you were also one of many young advocates to reshape the Hero Commission and hero society. Hawks was the new leader of it, begrudgingly so, but you worked close underneath of him. Slowly but surely rebuilding the civilian trust in heroes. Midoriya was also at the forefront of this, demanding that things needed to be better. That some villains deserved that same outreaching hand. Seemingly enough, it was working. When a villain was caught, they were given the option of jail or a reform program and a mentor. Most chose the reform options. With the help of Shinsou, you both worked towards making sure that stigmatization of what “good” and “bad” quirks were, was brought down. Starting with UA, where you both made sure that the students were given the option of which courses they took.
Shouto had started working for his dad, which shocked plenty of you. His siblings especially. Endeavor was working towards retirement though, so soon enough the agency would be Shouto’s own. Rei Todoroki had been released from the hospital, and Shouto had helped her get a nice apartment set up. Shouto and his siblings would often go and have dinner with her at least three times a week, and eventually you started to go to at least once a week. Rei loved getting to meet the friends that helped her son see not all people were bad. Plus she also just thought you were the perfect match for her baby, but she wouldn’t say it out loud to either of you.. Mostly just to Fuyumi or Natsuo while she watched Shouto watch you.
This weeks dinner you were attending, was before you and Shouto were supposed to attend Mina’s birthday party. You both just brought clothes to get ready at Rei’s apartment after dinner, seeing as neither one of you usually dressed in party clothing to go to family dinner. It was particularly hot that week, and Mina’s birthday was at an outdoor venue, so you opted in for a baby pink sundress. As you were finishing up getting ready, Rei knocked on her bedroom door and stepped inside.
“Oh don’t you look gorgeous,” She smiled softly, you noticed that she was very soft spoken still, and that when Shouto used that voice you could see their resemblance even more, “Shouto is wearing a pink dress shirt, are you two meant to be matching?”
“Hm? Oh no, our friend is well.. She’s pink,” You laughed a little trying to find the way to describe it, “So every year she demands that we wear pink to match her,”
“Oh, I thought maybe you two finally breached that whole just friends gap,” Rei’s words instantly made a blush creep onto your face as you stumbled trying to find a way to deny it, “Honey, just because I was trapped in a loveless marriage, doesn’t mean that I don’t know how to tell when two people are in love,”
“No, no, Shouto just sees me as a friend, that’s all we’ve ever been really,” You smiled sadly, you had thought maybe after the war that things were changing between you two, and they did, but not in that way. Instead it seemed you had been buried even further into the friendzone.
“I’ve never seen someone look at somebody the way my son looks at you, and truthfully believed that they were merely friends,” Rei was folding up your discarded clothes for you, “Shouto, he struggles with emotions, we’ve talked about it and it’s something he still works on, if I had to guess he doesn’t know how to read you, so perhaps you should just lay it all out on the table for him?”
You blinked a few times, trying to process getting dating advice from the mother of the guy you were in love with, “I.. I have considered it, but I’m scared that it would, well that it would ruin everything,”
“I still think that you should try.” Rei held out your repacked bag for you, and walked with you back out to join the others. Fuyumi squealed when she saw you, and started gushing about how pretty you looked. You didn’t even notice Natsuo nudging his baby brother, who’s eyes were trained on you. The two of you said your goodbyes and you both walked down to Shouto’s car. At first the ride was silent, just the occasional small talk about dinner.
“My family really likes when you come around, you’re usually the reprieve before we have dinner with our father,” Shouto’s eyes were on the road still, and you glanced towards him.
“How are things? Between Endeavor and Rei?” You approached the topic gently, knowing it was still a sensitive subject for them all.
“They’re, amicable, he tries his best to make up for what he did to her but it’s..” He trailed off for a second, his hands clenching the steering wheel tighter, “It’s not an easy to forget situation so it’s hard, for everyone,”
“And.. Touya? How is he doing?” You two really never spoke about his brother. You knew that Eri had been able to reverse his own damage he had done to himself.. Physically at least. Mentally he was in the same kind of facility that Rei was in. She went to visit him often, and as of lately he invited Natsuo from what you understood. Touya was trying his best to put Dabi to rest, to set him aside and get better, but it was a hard thing to do. Any mention of Endeavor would send him into a spiral, and to him Shouto was still just an extension of their father.
“Better, he.. He asked if Fuyumi could come with them next week, and told our mom he was ready to see um pictures of me,” Shouto’s voice was strained as he forced himself to talk about it. You reached over and gently put a hand on his shoulder.
“We don’t have to talk about this now,” Your voice was gentle, and you watched his shoulders relax a little at your touch, “We do need to talk about how every magazine is going to have a picture of you in this shirt plastered on it though,”
Shouto cracked a small smile and glanced over at you, “They would be stupid to do so as if you don’t like you do in that dress,”
Your cheeks were red again and you smiled at him, “Was that a compliment?”
“Of course it was,” Shouto sounded offended that you even had to question it, finally the blunt side came out, “You look beautiful.”
Thanks to the flow of the overhead streetlights, you were almost certain you saw him blush too. When you arrived at the venue for Mina’s party, the paparazzi were already lined up outside near the valet. It wasn’t uncommon for there to be this much press at events that your class was at, after all you had all been semi-famous since you were fifteen. Shouto passed the keys off to the valet person and rushed to your door to help you out. You both started making your way inside as you were being bombarded with questions, the typical ones for the gossip columns. Once you were inside you were both led out to the deck where your friends were.
“Ah! You’re here!” Mina rushed forward and hugged you first, both of you squealing as you squeezed each other in a tight hug. Kyouka and Ochaco were not far behind to hug you when Mina finally split away to give Shouto a hug. Sero whisked Shouto away, and you were left with the girls to talk and catch up on a few things. Mostly them bombarding you about whether or not you and Shouto were finally anything to talk about.
“I don’t understand, you two have an apartment together, and there’s been no steamy make out session or anything?” Ochaco asked as she handed you the drink you had ordered from the bartender, “Have you considered maybe you need to make the first move?”
“I’ve tried dropping hints for years you guys,” You sighed, “Maybe he really just doesn’t feel the same,”
“Well I know someone who does,” Jirou shrugged and the three of you glanced at her, “Denki was telling me just the other night that Shinsou had a thing for you,”
“Hitoshi?” You tilted your head, “No, no we just work together,”
“According to my idiot, Shinsou is definitely into you, just doesn’t act it cause well you know everyone’s always assumed you were off limits,” Jirou explained, and you felt unbelievably nervous about it. Shinsou was attractive, there was some mild flirting when you worked together, but you had never seen it like that.
“Maybe you should take a little more interest in Shinsou then, I mean he is here tonight?” Mina suggested, “Oh you could totally see if Todoroki got jealous!”
“Mina, I don’t think it’s fair to either of them if she uses Shinsou to get Todoroki’s attention,” Ochaco pointed out and you nodded in agreement.
“Maybe I just need to man up and just talk to Shouto finally,” You stared over at him talking to Midoriya and some of the other boys, “I’m definitely going to need a few more drinks before I do.”
Mina had no hesitation in ordering shots for everybody in attendance, and soon enough all of the guests there were feeling a little more comfortable. The dance floor in the middle of the room was filling up with more people, you were with the girls and dancing, and probably drinking more than you should have. It wasn’t until you spotted Shouto at the bar that you finally broke away. You walked up and stood beside him as he waited for his drink, and unashamedly stared up at him taking in his features. It was incredibly annoying how as he got older, he just became that much more beautiful. He finally glanced down at you with a smile, and told the bartender to make you a drink too. Your heart fluttered a little that he knew what you would like.
“Are you having fun?” Shouto turned so his back was leaning against the bar, and he used his elbows for support. You had to stop yourself from staring at his arms, then his chest, and finally you went back to the eye contact he was still trying to hold.
“Yeah, it’s nice seeing all of us in one spot again,” You grabbed your drink that the bartender dropped off, “What about you?”
“I agree,” Shouto took a drink, “There’s a private lake that we can walk out to, do you want to come with me? Need a break,”
“Yeah, yeah of course,” You nodded and grabbed your drink. You tried your hardest to ignore the winks of your best friends as you walk down the steps with Shouto.
There were lanterns lighting the path out to the lake, and the slight breeze made the warm summer air cool down a lot more. Maybe it was the fact you were walking on Shouto’s ride side though. A pit of anxiety was in your stomach at how romantic the entire scene seemed to be, because what would be a better moment to confess to your best friend that you loved him? You both walked out on the dock, and sat down off the edge. Both of you took your shoes off and let your feet skim above the water. Shouto took a deep breath and looked up at the stars, you stared at him for a second before chugging the rest of your drink.
“The sky is always so much clearer outside of the city,” Shouto mumbled as he stared up at the stars, “They’re even clearer out here than they were at-”
“I think I’m in love with you,” You blurted out, and a heavy tension settled between you both. Shouto’s head stayed tilted towards the stars for a moment, like he was frozen in place, “Well, no, not I think, more like I am, I have been, for a really long time now, and I think that maybe you know this could well, it could be mutual?”
His head dropped down and he looked out at the water this time, still not looking at you. Shouto wasn’t saying anything, and for the first time that was really starting to freak you out. He was usually stoic, and hard to read for other people. Never for you though, you could read him like a book that you knew every word of. You kept your eyes on him, trying your hardest to just keep your cool.
“I get that you know that wasn’t the most calm way to go about that, especially blurting it out here and now, but Sho I want to be with you,” You reached your hand out to touch his arm, and for the first time in five years, he flinched away from you. Panic started to settle in as you started to conclude that he didn’t feel the same. He didn’t want you in that way.
“Oh, oh my gosh,” You stood up and grabbed your shoes, running your hand through your hair. Shouto finally seemed to snap out of it, and he stood up to look at you. The only hint of emotion was the confusion in his eyes, “Fuck that was so stupid of me, I know that it was, I shouldn’t have even said that, I mean I’ve been drinking, and you have been drinking and that was all just a mistake,”
“Are you leaving?” Shouto finally spoke, as he watched you put your sandals back on.
“Yeah, before I say anything else that’s stupid that I will regret tomorrow,”
“You regret saying it?” Shouto’s voice was monotone as he looked down at you. You tried to find any sign that you should say no, but from the looks of it he didn’t want that. He didn’t want you. It was as if you were sinking into a hole, a hole that meant no more Shouto. You needed to claw your way out of it.
“Yes,” You answered, hoping that was your ladder. Your ladder to get out of that hole, “Yes I do, I should get back, um, I’m sorry for all of that.”
You were practically running up the path before he could say another word. When you got closer to the deck, you made your way back to the bar and ordered a few more shots. After your third one the pain in your chest was dull, and you were starting to feel a little better. Shouto had made his way back on the deck, and seemed to be looking around. You wanted to duck and hide, but instead you found coverage elsewhere. In Shinsou.
“Hey,” You smiled at him after you rushed over to the table he was standing at with a few other people, “So, a certain purple birdy told me that you’ve been talking to a yellow bird about me?”
Shinsou choked on his drink a little, coughing before looked down at you, “Perhaps, I’ve been talking to some annoying yellow birds,”
“You should know that the yellow bird can not keep secrets to save his life,” Shinsou laughed before he leaned in a little more towards you.
“Maybe I didn’t want him to keep the secret?” He whispered, and you flushed a little red. Your head was somewhat spinning, maybe from the drinks, but you were going to convince yourself that it was because of Shinsou.
You were too far drunk to feel the immense guilt at using him for a distraction from Shouto. You were also too far drunk to notice Shouto standing back and watching as the two of you flirted. Sometime after Mina’s cake, you and Shinsou made a quiet and swift exit to his car. Then you made it to his apartment, where you briefly remembered drinking more with him when you got there. Those were all in fragments though, patches that needed to be filled.
When you woke up in his bed the next morning though, hungover and guilt ridden, you rushed to the bathroom to throw up. Shinsou came into his bathroom and grimaced at the sight of you, but tied your hair back for you anyways. You were coughing above the toilet, too scared to make eye contact with him.
“Oh fuck, did we..?” You mumbled, your head now pounding.
“No,” Shinsou reassured you, “You were way too drunk, and eventually started crying because you um.. Well you told me everything about Todoroki,”
You groaned and felt like you needed to throw up again, “Shit, I’m so so sorry Hitoshi, I wouldn’t blame you if you were pissed at me right now,”
“Pissed at you for what?” Shinsou sat down on the floor next to the toilet, “When I told Kaminari about my attraction to you, we both agreed and knew who you had your eyes on, everyone’s known it for a really long time,”
You teared up and took the mouth wash he had out for you, and swished it around before spitting it in the toilet. You flushed down all of it and leaned back against the bathtub with Shinsou, “I can’t believe I screwed that all up,”
“Maybe it’s still salvageable, so why don’t we get you some breakfast and I can drive you home?” Shinsou suggested, “You have to face him sooner than later, so why not get it over with?”
“You promise you don’t hate me?” You muttered, and Shinsou wrapped his arm around your shoulder and pulled you against his side.
“I promise, now c’mon, let’s go before you throw up in my bathroom again.”
After breakfast, Shinsou dropped you off at your apartment building. You found yourself hoping that the elevator would get stuck, or maybe even crash. Luck wasn’t on your side though, so instead you just made your way down the hall. You stood outside of your door for a second before finally realizing you had left your phone and keys in Shouto’s car the night before. After muttering a string of cuss words, you finally knocked on the door a few times. Trying to prepare yourself from the look on his face at your current state of holding your dress from last night in one hand, while wearing Shinsou’s shirt and basketball shorts. You tried to prepare yourself for any possible outcome.
What you weren’t expecting though was some perky girl to open the door, wearing one of Shotou’s shirts.
“Oh? I’m sorry, can I help you?” She smiled, “Shouto’s not here right now, he left for patrol,”
You were too far into shock to even say anything. Instead you pushed past her and she followed after you claiming that you shouldn’t do that. You pointed to a picture of yourself, and the girls on the wall. The girl looked at it and then back out you before gasping.
“Oh! I know you! You’re Shouto’s best friend, I’ve read all about you on the news pages,” Her voice was so sickly sweet, “I didn’t realize you two lived together, he didn’t mention that he had a girlfriend last night,”
Your stomach churned at the thought of them together. Finally you looked around the apartment and noticed her dress tossed on the couch.
Before you knew it, the girl was now wearing Shouto’s shirt and your breakfast. She started screaming, and you rubbed your temples as you walked away to grab the cleaning the supplies from the bathroom closet. When you came out, Shouto’s now puke covered shirt was laying on the ground and the girl’s dress was gone. You started to scrub the spot on the floor where your vomit had landed, and then picked up the shirt and threw it in the washer.
After you were done cleaning up your mess, you were like a zombie as you went around and scrubbed any surface that she might’ve touched. That he might’ve touched her on. You stared at the couch, and contemplated making Kirishima come and remove it from the apartment for you. The longer you stared at the couch though, the harder it was to not let your emotions get the better of you. Not even thinking, you went into Shouto’s bedroom to use his bathroom. His shower was better than yours, so the two of you usually just shared it. On his usually made, unmade bed, was a note with a pink lipstick smooch at the bottom.
‘Thanks for last night, call me when you’re home xx’
You ran out of the room as fast as you could and made it to your own bathroom before you threw up for the final time that morning. You pulled yourself up off the ground just enough to turn on your shower. You stripped yourself of your clothes and climbed in, sitting on the floor of it as the tears finally started to slip out. A million thoughts and ideas started going through your head. Your head racing as your chest started to feel as though it was shrinking in on you. You were sobbing but you were convinced that you couldn’t breathe. All at once you felt like your entire world was falling apart, like you were broken into a million little pieces.
It wasn’t unfamiliar feeling, but there was always one person there who could at least put your pieces back together. Shouto could fit all of those pieces back together. Not in a “he fixes everything” way, no instead it was more like he would sit with you and help organize the pieces as you put yourself back together. Trying to convince yourself that you were still capable of doing it without him you pulled yourself up in the shower. You forced yourself to wash your hair, and your body. Sobs still slipped out every so often, but you were trying your best to force them back down.
Once you were finished in the shower you cursed the fact that you two didn’t really leave towels in your bathroom. So instead you just left a trail of water as you walked back into your room. Once you were dressed, you didn’t even bother to brush through your hair as you plopped down on your bed. You pulled the blankets right around you, and let yourself cry more until you finally could fall asleep.
Shouto was a mess. He had been a mess since last night, when you disappeared from the party. He saw Shinsou talking to Kaminari, so he could only assume that you didn’t leave with him. He asked everyone if they had saw you, but they all said no. After saying a quick goodbye to Mina, he went back for his car. His first destination of searching was the apartment, but when he opened the door he could tell that you weren’t there. Your shoes weren’t lazily kicked off by the door for him to fix and put back the right way. A string of cuss words left his mouth, and he started his search of the bars he knew you enjoyed going to.
There was no sign of you there either, just an incredibly too drunk girl that was clinging to him begging him to help her. So he did, he helped her and gave her a place to stay for the night where she could be safe. As soon as they were inside though, the girl stripped out of her dress and tried to pull him on the couch with her. After rejecting her more than he should’ve had to, she finally got the hint and started to cry. He offered for her to sleep in his bed, and gave her his shirt to sleep with so her bare chest would be covered. Even though he didn’t actually sleep, Shouto sat in your room with the door locked to keep away anymore potential unwanted advances.
That morning, he went into his room to gather his patrol clothes. He usually took Sundays off for himself, and because it was the one day you had off. He was going to patrol for you though, to try and see if he could find you anywhere because he was going out of his mind. The girl was still there, tangled up in his bed in nothing more than his shirt and her underwear. He awkwardly explained to her that he was leaving, but he would let her wake up more and she could see herself out.
He went to his agency, and then got ready to start his search for you. He even demanded some of the sidekicks helped him. Shouto was cursing himself for freezing up last night when you told him that you loved him. His entire plan for going out to the lake was to finally confess that he loved you. You beat him to it though, and you were so hasty in telling him you didn’t mean it that he didn’t know what to do. The two of you had both been drinking, so maybe it wasn’t the right moment for either of you to say anything. Before he could even ask you if you could talk about it the next day, just enjoy the party together, and maybe talk about it over breakfast.. You were saying it was a mistake, and you didn’t mean it. Then you were rushing off and avoiding any kind of contact with him.
After searching everywhere he could, he was finally starting to lose his cool. Shouto had seen you have your attacks, and you were the only person who was able to help him identify when he was having one himself. He didn’t even notice one coming on, until Midoriya was kneeling in front of him. He was trying to talk to him, and understand what was happening.
“She’s gone, she’s gone and I can’t find her, why can’t I find her? I s-should’ve stopped her.. I..” Shouto Todoroki knew you were his weak spot, you had been his weak spot since the moment you opened up to him. You were also his rock though, the only other person beside Midoriya who was completely and totally patient with his lack of knowledge when it came to relationships and people. Now he didn’t know where you were, and his brain could only assume the worst outcome or scenario.
“Shouto, I’m going to get you home okay?” Midoriya’s words cut through the clouds in his brain, “You and I will wait there for her, and I will get in touch with everybody else to see if they can find her.”
Shouto let his friend pull him up off the pavement, but was silent the entire way back to his agency. He was quick to change and grab his things, trying to avoid anybody else seeing him in the state he was in. Midoriya drove him home, and tried his best to get Shouto to calm down. In his head though, the worst possible outcomes were happening. Finally, Shinsou answered Midoriya’s calls.
Midoriya explained everything, and Shinsou sighed before saying, “She’s home, I dropped her off there myself.”
Shouto practically leaped out of the passenger seat at the last red light before your shared apartment. He was running as fast as he could, too impatient for the elevator he opted for sprinting up the stairs instead. His hands were shaking as he unlocked the apartment door, and he stepped inside to the smell of bleach overwhelming him… And your shoes and your dress from last dropped by the front door. Shouto fixed your shoes, and picked up your dress as he made his way down the hall to your room.
Shouto felt the entire world lift off his shoulders when he saw you curled up in your bed. Your soft snores filled his ears and he dropped your dress in your laundry basket before went and sat on your bed. Your hair was damp and in tangles. Your pillow was soaked. He wanted to wake you up and scold you, and tell you that you were going to catch a cold sleeping like that. Instead though, he opted for gently letting his fingers touch your face.
You shifted a little at the sudden cold touch on your face, and your eyes peeled open a bit to see Shouto sitting next you. For a minute, you didn’t remember anything that happened. All you saw was the man you loved, looking at you like you were the only thing that mattered in the world. Then the memories sunk in, of the previous night, and seeing that girl just hours prior. Your throat tightened up, and you shifted a little.
“You scared me,” Shouto sounded like he was scolding you, “When I couldn’t find you last night I thought something had happened to you,”
“I’m surprised you had time to worry,” Your words were so quiet, but they shocked him nonetheless.
“What do you mean?” Shouto’s eyebrows creased in the middle, “Did you stay with Shinsou? He said he dropped you off at home,”
“I did,” Your words were dry, and when you sat up Shouto finally noticed that you had been crying. Your eyes were red, and your lips looked like you had been nervously peeling the skin off of them. His heart sank a little, something had upset you and he wasn’t there to help.
“What happened?” Shouto whispered, and his hand reached out to grab yours. For the first time ever though, you pulled it away from him. Out of his grasp.
“Did you have fun after I left?” You hated that you sounded like a jealous lover. You were definitely jealous, but you weren’t a lover.
“No?” Shouto tilted his head, “No, I didn’t even notice you had left,”
“Yeah, I mean from the looks of this morning, your hands must’ve been pretty full,” You sounded angry, and Shouto was confused as to why.
Why were you upset with him for looking for you? Did you two have something planned?
“Well, I know I don’t usually work Sundays but I made an exception for today because-”
“Because you needed a way out of your one night stand? She left you a note by the way, with her number on it, maybe you should go bother her,” You snapped, and Shouto sat back a little. He was trying to read the situation, trying to read you. All he could pick out though, was that he was bothering you? Bothering you because he cares
“I didn’t realize that looking for you all night and all morning was bothering you?” He scoffed, “I mean you just disappeared last night, and I couldn’t find you anywhere so I,”
“Took home another girl instead? Since you would have the apartment to yourself?” You didn’t even let him finish the sentence, which just frustrated him even more.
“What? No,” Shouto stood up and looked at you, and you laughed. Actually laughed at him, before you stood up too.
“I mean hey it’s fine, she looked great, so I bet you had a good time,” You scoffed crossing your arms, “If you want to start doing that more often don’t let me stop you,”
“What are you even fucking talking about?!” Shouto finally snapped, the frustrating and confusion getting to him, “You think I had a good night?! I spent the entire night waiting for you to come back, then when you didn’t I spent my entire morning and afternoon trying my best to convince myself that you weren’t dead! Why are you mad about that?!”
You blinked a few times, “Because I came home to our fucking apartment after telling you I was in love with you, to find another girl walking around half naked!”
“Her being naked was a shock for me too! Imagine how I felt when I turned around and her dress was gone!”
“Judging by the state of your bed, and the note on it, you didn’t seem to mind it!” You were both confused, tired, and angry. Shouto was looking you over, like he was trying to assess you like you were some work problem. In usual fashion, you could see the pieces start to add up as his eyebrows unclenched. Shouto took a deep breath.
“I didn’t have sex with that girl, she was crying outside of the bar that I went to look for you at, and I offered to let her sleep in my bed,” Shouto explained the situation, and now it was your turn to feel stupid. You wanted to crawl back into your bed and hide from him like a scared little kid. You opted for just sitting down though, and he followed you in doing so.
There was a moment of silence as you tried to digest the embarrassment of how you just acted, “I don’t blame you, I supposed if I would have shown up at Shinsou’s and found you there I would’ve made the same conclusions about the two of you,”
“I stayed there, but nothing happened between the two of us,” You whispered, picking at your sheets slightly. There was another bit of silence before Shouto finally took a deep breath and turned himself completely towards you.
“I love you,” Your eyes snapped up to meet his, “I am in love with you, and have been since I was sixteen, I didn’t say anything about it because the person who started pushing me towards realizing it was Dabi, when he mentioned you being my weak spot,
I didn’t know what that meant at first, but I knew after he pointed that out I just wanted to be around you even more than I already was, I didn’t even realize what the feelings were that I was having towards you until Midoriya explained it to me, but then I was just too.. Too scared to even say anything about how I felt, because I had never felt that way before, so then instead I just kept you even closer to me, brought you around my family and watched the way you molded with them,
At dinner yesterday Natsuo finally convinced me that it was time for me to man up and tell you how I felt and I was going to at the lake, but you were talking so fast and I couldn’t even process what was happening until I couldn’t find you anymore and I started to get scared that I lost you,”
Shouto was looking right at you, not once breaking eye contact while he spoke every thought that was in his mind. You blinked a few times, and tried to force yourself to say something. Shouto fidgeted nervously.
“If you were telling the truth last night, and you didn’t mean what you said me then that’s okay and I won’t hold it against you, but if you did..”
You couldn’t find the words to say, so instead you sat up a little and glanced at his lips. He caught the subtle look, and as if it was second nature to him gathered what you were hinting at. What you wanted to do but you were simply too scared to. So instead, he placed a warm hand flat against your jaw and gently moved in closer. Both of you were hesitating, both of you watched the other for any kind of tell that maybe it shouldn’t happen. Shouto was surprisingly the first one to close the gap between you two, and pressed his lips softly against yours.
The kiss was gentle at first, his lips slotting against yours as if they were always meant to be there. His hand stayed on your jaw for a moment before finally sliding to the back of your tangled and damp hair, pulling you closer while always pulling himself closer to you. Both of your hands mimicked his, as you slid them to the base of his neck holding him in place. Shouto shivered a little, at the feeling of your nails gently scrapping the nape of his neck. His free hand snaked around your waist to pull you against him even more.
“Not close enough,” Shouto complained against your lips, and you let out that little laugh that loved more than anything. He went into kiss you again, but you tried to hold him back so you could tell him you felt the same way. So you could tell him you loved him too. He was a fighter though, and kept pressing his lips against yours.
“Sho,” You giggled again, and finally placed both of your hands on his face, “Let me talk,”
For the first time in knowing him, you saw Shouto Todoroki actually pout at the fact he wasn’t getting his way, “Hurry, need more of that..”
His words sent a shiver up your spine, and goosebumps formed on your arms, “I love you too, Shouto Todoroki, I always have, and I promise you I always will,”
His pouting lips tugged up into a small grin that made your heart melt, he pressed his forehead to yours before he whispered, “I have.. I have a lot to learn about this, about loving someone like this, so please.. Be patient with me?”
“I’ve been patient for five years waiting for you to even give a hint that I was more than a friend, I can be patient with you learning how to navigate me being your girlfriend,” Your thumb rubbed just below his scar, and his eyes opened up again to look at you, “I mean if you want me to be your girlfriend,”
“I want you to be my.. You are my everything,” Shouto breathed out, the words making you both feeling giddy inside, “Your minute is up though.”
Shouto pressed his lips against yours again, this time with a little more force. The two of you eventually were laying in your bed together, still letting the occasional lazy kiss turn into a make out session. Both of you just wrapped up in one another, as comfortable feeling settled between you both that you were together.. Finally.

Having your memories given up was his choice. But just because he chose this path doesn’t mean that it was the path he wanted
Every time Shoto see you, it’s like he’s falling off the deep end again. Watching you from afar is always the most painful thing. Watching you forget everything he was and everything you had with him was worse than any wound on the battlefield.
And Shoto had fought many battles.
It would be fascinating, feeling this deep, sick ache fester if it didn’t hurt this fucking much.
He still watches you, even if you don’t know it.
He watches how your smile forms on your face, how your features lift as you laugh and how you look so much lighter than when you knew him.
Did he really pull you down that much? Will there come again when you face someone with that very same smile you tailored especially for him?
He doesn’t like thinking about those questions. It makes him spiral. He doesn’t like spiralling.
He’s sits on the same roof, admiring you from the same balcony window he used to come visit you through, with a trail of blood leaking from open wounds. He can’t remember ever using the front door once.
Sometimes, he’s almost come close to reintroducing himself to you again. He wants to. He really wants to. You were the first person he’s ever loved, and Shoto’s certain that you’d be the last.
After all, how do you love after killing it with your own bare hands?
Having your memories given up was his choice. It was to keep you safe after a particularly close shave with a villain. Your heart had stopped beating at one point, and you had taken a considerable blow to the head.
When you woke up, all your memories about him were erased.
It was for the best, he remembered thinking because as much as he loved you, as much as it hurt, it hurt even more knowing that you flatlined because of him.
That’s why when there was when the opportunity presented itself, Shoto flew out of your life the second you said “Who are you?”
Call him weak, call him a coward, but he’d rather you safe than you dead because of his greed.
But he can’t find a way to pull away completely from you. He’s tried overworking himself, consuming himself in his hero work, only to be reminded that his break spot is a billboard facing your school.
He’s tried dating others, but it’s never the same.
He wants to be a hero. He wanted it so much, and he’s finally got it when he hit the Top 3 in the Hero charts that year.
But there’s always a price to pay for what you want the most, because as he stares out at the people he’s sworn to protect some selfish part of him still wishes that you would remember just what you really meant to him, even after all this while.

TW: Cheating, manipulation
Shoto would sleep with your best friend while dating you… and oh god the hurt you felt when you found out made your chest so heavy, you couldn’t breath. God, he’d say it was a temporary fix, nothing serious. He sees nothing wrong with his actions but he still is a gentleman and apologizes and expects you to forgive him because he said sorry. That’s the way the world works. You mess up, you apologize, and you move on. Shoto couldn’t understand what was so difficult for you to comprehend. He thinks it may have to do with the fact that you’re quirkless or maybe lower class, you’re too dumb to get it. Shoto doesn’t even know why he’s trying to make things right, he’s not sure if he even loves you but the look you give him, with your teary eyes and your wobbling lips… it makes guilt boil in his stomach and he doesn’t like that so just fucking forgive him already-
He bristled with more annoyance when you blocked his number.

SHOTO’S back absolutely ached. He had been hunched over the table in the library for the past two hours trying to process the organic chemistry that laid in front of him like hieroglyphics. Beside him, you were twirling your pen fervently, as you took in the equation in front of you. The exam for your organic chemistry class was only two days away and neither of you had managed to study enough to scrape a passing grade for the test.
His head hurt as he stared at the problem longer, hoping something would click in his head and he would know how to finally solve the problem. He opened his mouth to ask you to explain it to him (seeming as you seemed to know much more than him) when you nudged him hard in his side. Shoto let out an “Oof!” only for you to shush him in response and say, “Look! It’s Iida, he would know what to do, let’s go ask him.”
Shoto glanced up to see the robotic man himself settle down a few tables down where they were sat. Before him, with no surprise, were also textbooks of organic chemistry and tons of studying material. Shoto glances at your eagerness and shrugged, “You go, don’t feel like talking much right now.” He nodded in Iida’s direction and promptly went back to staring at the compounds on his notebook.
Shrugging, you go sit next to Iida and nudge him shyly, “Iida… could you help me study for organic chemistry? If it’s not too much of a bother of course!” You stammered, feeling nervous instantly as his sharp gaze settles on you.
He smiles kindly and nods, “Of course, Y/N! Classmates should help each other always, I’m glad to be of assistance. What do you need help with?” Iida leaned over, taking a glimpse of your neat notes. You flushed with the proximity of his presence — he was so close you could smell the cologne he was wearing (it smelled heavenly) and your shoulders were practically touching. You stared at his face only to find his staring right back at yours. “Y/N?”
“Oh! I… well, I kind of need help with the entire unit we’ve been learning?” You scratched the back of your neck in awkwardness, “It’s okay if you don’t want to help me; I know it’s a lot and-”
“No! I want to help you, I need to review this whole unit anyways so it’ll help me too!” Iida leaned back in his seat as he lent you a kind smile. You smiled back in response and thanked him in response.
A few tables across, Shoto watched the entire interaction with a cold stare. An odd feeling was settling in his chest as he watched the two of you interact. His heart twisted and turned in emotions as he watched you smile and laugh with Iida.
A book clattering to the floor snapped his attention back to the chemistry right in front of him. He scoffed to himself, some chemistry they have. He picked up the book and once more went back to staring at the carbon compounds and the paragraphs of explanations. He heard you giggle once more, and his head snapped up. Shoto gritted his teeth as he started to pack up his books back into his backpack and settled his headphones over his head in a desperate attempt to drown out the noise that caused his heart to flip.
He had one step out of the library door when he heard his name being called despite the music playing in his ears. You had a concerned look on your face, turned in your seat to look at Shoto. “Where are you going, Sho?” You asked.
Shoto felt his heart thaw at the nickname (his heart was going through some major movement lately) and smiled at you. “Just tired, Y/N, I’m gonna take a nap in my dorm, don’t worry about me. Text me when you’re done studying.”
You nodded with a frown and watched as Shoto walked away with a wave, a hand in his pocket, and his backpack slung haphazardly over his shoulder.
Tumblr media
Shoto collapsed onto his bed, a groan escaping his lips. He replays the scene from the library in his head over and over, overanalyzing every word and touch. He squeezes the matted teddy bear lying in his bed in frustration, this wasn’t fair.
Shoto believed he was cursed, truly. Now, he wasn’t one to complain about his life pities, but how does one get this much bad luck in one lifetime? His never-ending crush on you still crept onto his university life, which was deemed rather unfortunate to Shoto; not because you were some bad person, no, but rather you would just never see Shoto in a romantic light.
He had tried, don’t get him wrong, in his high school years he had tried his hardest to change your perspective of him into one that was romantic as subtly as possible — it hadn’t worked. Shoto had simply accepted that he would forever be your best friend. Nothing more, nothing less. But that didn’t mean that his feelings for you had taken any pause. Rather, they grew in such an intensity that when he looked at you he felt as if you were simply a creation of the heavens bestowed on the Earth as a gift.
You were- are his first and only love. However, all this didn’t hold much meaning other than it being the current cause of his inner turmoil. Shoto raised the volume of the music blaring through his headphones, wallowing within his self-pity when Yaoyorozu walks in through the door of his dorm room. “Todoroki can I have my notes ba- what’s the matter?”
Yaoyorozu was always one to fret over her friends and Shoto was no exception. It almost seemed like a raincloud was persisting its way onto Shoto’s pathway. He lay there in a starfish position, eyes closed shut and a look of angst across his face. He peeked one eye open to gaze at Yaoyorozu, and sighed.
Silently, he scooted a bit over on his bed to make space for Yaoyorozu to sit next to him as he murmured, “Y/N…Iida…I don’t know what’s wrong with me, Yaoyorozu. I just saw them being close with each other and something about it made me so annoyed and all this just sucks! I hate being in love so much.”
He stared ahead of him for a second, and then slapped his hands over his face, groaning. “I don’t know what to do! Yaoyorozu, what do I do?”
Yaoyorozu stared at the mess of a boy Shoto was, and couldn’t help but laugh internally. It was funny how stoic he seemed to anyone who didn’t know him, and yet before her was someone who was drowning in a heap of emotions he didn’t know what to do with.
“You already know what I’m going to say, I don’t know why you ask every time. You have to confess to them, didn’t I tell you? There’s no other way, your feelings aren’t just going to disappear y’know,”
Shoto opened his mouth to counter her point but she was already on his trail, predicting what he was going to say before it had even left his mouth, “Don’t tell me you can’t. You’re not going to get anywhere like this. Come back to me when you’ve confessed to them. Bring my notes back too while you’re at it.”
Yaoyorozu left as quick as she came, shutting the door to his dorm room quietly leaving Shoto to once again wallow in his thoughts. Should he confess? Or were you already past the stage of looking at him as a potential romantic endeavor? Would he always just be your best friend? Nothing more, nothing less?
Tumblr media
Shoto waited by the steps of your dormitory, as the chill slowly seeped into his bones. You came out speeding towards him with your arms open as you enveloped him into a hug. Shoto could feel his heartbeat speed up as he felt your arms wrap around his ribcage and the warmth of your body aligning with his coldness. He slowly reciprocated your hug, gliding his hands to your back to hold you close to him.
You greeted him with the same cheerfulness you always presented to him, as the two of you released the grasp on each other and started walking to your ultimate destination.
Shoto has asked to hang out under the guise of needing company to get more studying supplies and you had agreed if only he bought you some coffee on the way. The real reason Shoto had asked to spend time with you? (Besides the fact that he craved your presence) The words Yaoyorozu had left with him seemed to finally leave a lasting impression on him, and it was all he could think of. Maybe this was his time to confess.
You continued talking about your history professor and his weird antics when you noticed Shoto seemingly zoning out, “Shoto? Sho, hey! Are you-”
“Could we sit down? There’s something I want to talk to you about.” He interjected quietly, his face flushed either from the cold or the upcoming conversation.
Sensing the serious mood, you nodded and led him towards the nearest bench you could find for the two of you. Once seated, you gestured at him to continue with what he wanted to say.
“I’ve been thinking a lot about us recently and there’s something really important I want to say concerning us. I think- no I know that I’m-”
A loud ding! sound came from your coat pocket, interrupting Shoto from his long-last admission. Sheepishly, you checked your phone to silence it only for a loud gasp to leave you. You stood quickly from your seat, as you switched your weight from foot to foot. “Sho, I’m really sorry but I promised Tenya that I would help him with his chemistry project and I completely forgot. I promise we’ll continue this conversation later, okay? I promise you.” You left with a quick hug and a wave and went running back in the direction of the dorms before Shoto could even process what has just happened.
The first thing that he processed was not the fact that he has just been abandoned by his best friend but rather the fact that you now referred to Iida as Tenya now. He was Tenya now, huh?
Shoto let out a breath as he pushed his head back against the bench, a hand over his temple to stop the upcoming headache from building. The anxiety in his chest from the prospect of confessing was still flowing throughout his body system, as he tried to take in what just happened. You just…ditched him? How was he meant to confess like this?
The wind blew harshly against his, blowing his bangs in his face as he thought of what Yaoyorozu would tell him now as advice. Try again. Try again and again until you finally confess and get the message across. It’s only fair to yourself.
And so that’s what Shoto decided to do. He would try again. He will try again. He will confess to you.
Tumblr media
Except he didn’t. He didn’t confess to you.
He never got the chance to. Every time he invited you to a place, you had to flee to help Iida with something. Any time he managed to find a moment of opportunity with you, Iida managed to pop up somehow. Even now you barely had a slice of time in your calendar for him, your best friend.
Frankly, Shoto was sick of this Iida fellow. For fucks sake forget a confession, he just wanted his best friend back. He had barely seen you for the past two weeks, without the mention or escape of Iida coming up.
His heart thumped horribly with envy. He missed you. He just wanted to hear your voice again. There was a scrapful of texts the two of you had exchanged over the course of two weeks, and it was all Shoto could hold on to. Had you decided that you no longer wanted to be friends with him? That Shoto was not worth sparing even platonic feelings for? That…Iida was better than him?
He felt the sting of tears build up in the backs of his eyes and a small lump grow in his throat as his thoughts built larger and larger. He fiddled with the wire of his earbuds as he walked into the dorm building, shoulders drooped in despair.
Sensing the number of people who had their eyes on him he decided to speed up his pace, desperate to flee any prying eyes. He didn’t cry in front of people.
“Shoto! Shoto, hey-”
He heard you calling out his name, and he tripled his pace from before. This was the one time he didn’t want to encounter you. He couldn’t stand you seeing him crying like this. He couldn’t muster an explanation fast enough.
Slamming the door to his dorm as quickly as possible, Shoto slid down the door to the rough carpet. He hoped you thought he hadn’t heard you and that he wasn’t ignoring you. Hot tears slid down his cheeks as he breathed deep. Maybe avoiding you was the best option right now; not that you made it difficult, you didn’t seem to have much time for him anyways.
The cycle continued like that. Or maybe it had been switched around. At first, it had appeared as if you didn’t have time for him and now it seemed as if Shoto didn’t have time for you. Any possible sight or sound of you led to him fleeing the scene in the quickest fashion possible. He saw you try to reach out to him, calling out his name, knocking on his dorm room, leaving texts, but he left it all unanswered. It was better this way.
Your mere presence made his heart ache like no other. It was a lose-lose situation in his opinion - seeing you made his heart hiccup with hurt and took his breath away and yet not seeing you made his hurt intensify in a manner he couldn’t even begin to process. He ached for you, he missed you how the stars missed the moon after a long day.
He supposed maybe it was too much to ask the world that maybe you missed him just the same.
Tumblr media
The atmosphere of the library was peaceful. There was heavy rain washing down the windows, and the sounds of pages being turned a few tables down. Then, just as suddenly, there was the sound of the library door being banged open as you came storming in, looking like a person on a mission.
Upon seeing your determined figure speeding its way towards him, Shoto started rushedly packing his things back in his bag, swung it over his shoulder, and started speed-walking to the exit.
He had almost made it, a foot out the door of the library when he felt a hand grasp the straps of his bag and pull him back. “Why have you been avoiding me?” you asked with a tight grip on his bag in fear that he might run away from you.
Shoto glanced back to see a furious expression across your face, and a few curious faces looking up at the two of you from the library tables. He grasped your hand quickly, dragging you out of the building and taking you to the front steps of the library with the rain still pouring in showers next to the pair of you.
“Listen-”
“Did I do something wrong?”
You both started talking at the same time and stopped. A moment passed as the two of you stared at each other, and then laughter escaped both of you. For a second, just a second, the tension had disappeared and Shoto swore he felt the lightness in his sternum.
He started speaking again as you gestured for him to continue, “I just… I needed space.”
Grimacing at his words, he opened his mouth to continue and then thought better of it. Any more, and he would let loose his confession and all the feelings he left buried within his heart.
A frown indented your face as you implored him to explain more, “Why didn’t you just tell me? Why did you avoid me only? Is there anything I can do?”
Shoto winced at the pure concern on your face. He watched as you continued talking, offering any way you could help him, if he needed anything from you, and then he heard his name.
“Iida said-”
“I don’t care.” He spat out. It was uncontrollable and a horrible feeling but he felt like the envy was consuming him whole. He didn’t care. He didn’t care about what Iida said. All he cared about was you.
“I beg your pardon?”
Shoto felt the sting in the back of his eyes again as he swallowed. Now or never. “I don’t care. I don’t care about him. I didn’t want space from you, all I wanted was to be next to you, but you didn’t seem to want me with you. You…you were always with Iida and I just couldn’t stand it. You look happy with him and I don’t want to be the one blocking that for you.”
He paused for a second, taking in your shocked expression, and forced himself to continue. Cautious hands wrapped around you, as he held your palms in his hands. “But I love you. I love you so much. You’re all I want and I’ve been trying to tell you that for weeks. I know you don’t feel the same but God, I’ve been dying to tell you this and-”
He gets cut off with the press of your lips against his. You pull the collar of his shirt and tug him towards you, your hands straying up to his neck. Shoto gasps against your lips as his hands tentatively wrap around your waist, pulling you flush against him till you were chest to chest. He felt your mouth hot against his as he held you close. You cup his face with your hands as you pull away from him as you look at him with adoration in your eyes and your breath ragged.
“You’re an idiot.” Is all that comes out of your mouth.
Shoto stares at you bewildered, eyes widened as he gapes at you. His hands were still wrapped around your waist and were tracing slow circles onto your back. “I’m sorry?” He says, still confused as to what just occurred.
“I love you, you idiot. I was stuck to Iida all this time because I was getting his help to make a plan to confess to you. Here you are talking about blocking my happiness, but you are my happiness. I want you and only you, Sho.”
The slow circles on your back stopped suddenly. Shoto stared at you, looking even more confused than before. “You… love me?” he asked quietly.
You nodded with a smile across your face. There was a moment of silence between the two of you with only the rain as the filled the gaps of things left unsaid. Then, just as quickly, Shoto knelt his face down towards you as he kissed you. Again and again. He left kisses across your cheeks, forehead, eyelids, nose, and the corners of your lips. With each kiss was the muttering of “I love you,” left across your skin.
He lifted a hand to hold your face, only tenderness living inside his body. “Say it again,” he prompted you.
“I love you, Shoto.”
With that, he kissed you. He kissed you with his whole heart’s desire pushed into one kiss. He would never let you go if it came to that, he thought. He would never let such happiness slip from his fingers. Never again.
As the two of you broke apart, Shoto felt you lift his hand up and leave a tender kiss upon his scarred knuckles. He finally felt content, a feeling he had been chasing for such a long time. He gazed at the rain pouring down by the steps and let out a laugh. Maybe he’d even thank Iida for his help. Maybe.

pairing: shouto x gn!reader genre: hurt comfort ?? angst ?? word count: 424
cw mentions of blood/severe injury
“y/n!” you can barely register the sound of shouto yelling your name before you’re surrounded by darkness. your head throbs. you can feel a liquid running down your leg. blood. you shift, pushing a piece of concrete to pull your arm out from underneath it. a deep cut runs from the top of your thigh to your ankle.
the debris is pushed aside, exposing some sunlight through the wreckage. weight is pushed off of your body, chunks of metal and brick pushed aside. shouto hovers over you, gently pulling you to safety. you gasp, choking on your own words as you push them out of your throat. “shou-“
“you’re okay,” he runs his thumb against your cheek, brushing against a newly forming bruise. “you’re okay,” he repeats. your vision blurs as he leans down to wrap an arm under your knees, using the other to pull your head against his chest. “i’m gonna get you out of here, okay? just hang on for me.”
you close your eyes, clinging onto shouto before darkness fully envelops you once again.
Tumblr media
shouto sighs, burying his face into his hands. by now he’s grown accustomed to the sterile air of the hospital room you lay in. the continuous beeping of the monitors plays in his head, almost haunting him. he closes his eyes, reaching over to grab your hand. he presses a kiss against your knuckles, intertwining your fingers together.
“please come back to me,” he whispers. “i love you.”
shouto gasps when your fingers twitch against his. he clambers to his feet, leaning over your unconscious body. “y/n?” your hand twitches again. shouto stares in shock as you stir a little before your eyes flutter open. “y/n!”
“hey,” your voice is raspy when you try to speak. shouto rushes to hand you a bottle of water, helping you sit up to drink it.
“how are you feeling? are you okay? do you need anything? should i go get someone? are-”
“shou,” you chuckle, cutting him off. you lift a shaky hand to wipe away tears he hadn’t realized had fallen. “i’m okay. i promise.” you gesture for shouto to sit back down. he grabs your hand again, pressing another kiss against your hand.
“don’t ever scare me like that again,” shouto sighs, wiping a few more stray tears from his cheeks.
“i’m sorry,” you murmur. he shakes his head, resting his head against your hand.
“get some rest. i love you.”
“i love you too.” you whisper, closing your eyes and falling back asleep.

𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝑴𝒆 𝑨𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏 (𝑺.𝑻𝒐𝒅𝒐𝒓𝒐𝒌𝒊/𝑲.𝑩𝒂𝒌𝒖𝒈𝒐𝒖 𝒙 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓)
𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: You definitely thought your first confession would end differently than the way it did. One can only wonder, how does one measly little crush turn in to a life or death situation? 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭: 3975 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞: Angst (light fluff in the end?) 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: Mentions of blood
A/n: Part two of At least you're happy. I do accept requests
Tumblr media
✩。:*•.───── 🥀 ─────.•*:。✩
"So what did you want to talk about?", the boy in front of me asks.
"Oh-it's nothing. It doesn't matter anymore", I say biting back the tears.
Crumpling the piece of paper in my hands the water works start flowing.
At least you're happy
✩。:*•.───── 🥀 ─────.•*:。✩
You stood there clutching the letter you oh-so-lovingly wrote as big heavy tears began to fall down your face.
'Of course it's HER. Why wouldn't it be HER? It was so stupid of me to even think I had a chance when there was someone like HER.'
As you stood there rewinding the last few minutes over and over in your head, you started to fell a tightening in your chest. It soon started to feel like you were being suffocated.
At lightening speed, you run out of the classroom and rush over to the bathroom, slamming the door of the first empty stall shut. You bend over as you're thrown into a coughing  fit, your letter laying forgotten on the bathroom floor.
It was painful, the back of your throat burned as you coughed out the contents your body had rejected. It had stopped for a moment only to start back up again instantly and you had started to feel light headed from the lack of oxygen.
Finally after what had felt like hours of hacking, it stopped and you opened your eyes only to see petals of autum bellflowers covered in BLOOD in the water. You step back horrified.
As you stepped out from the bathroom after discarding the contents you coughed out (along with your letter), you continued to try calm yourself.
'Someone must have just lost control of their quirk.'
'Yeah! That's it! That's fine! This is fine! I'm FINE!', you tried reassuring yourself as you entered the locker rooms for hero training. Although even you knew that the chances of this were quite slim.
"Sooooooo, How'd it go?!", your pink haired friend asks instantly spotting you, catching the attention of certain members of the Dekusquad.
You only look at her with a sorrowful gaze in response, enough for her to understand. She leans in to hug you but, you stop her earning a hurt expression from her.
Assembling in the training ground after changing, you go to join your friends, only for your eyes to land on a certain heterochromatic boy and the black haired girl next to him, acting all lovey-dovey.
It made you SICK, literally.
Feeling another coughing fit coming you quickly rush to the bathroom to empty out the contents, much to the concern of your friends.
"So, do you think it's working?", Uravity asks.
"Looks like it.", Yaoyorozu answers as the boy next to her only sighs.
"I don't know. I have a bad feeling about this."

Last night⌛
"Alright everyone! This time we've got the perfect plan to get Y/n and Todoroki together!", a certain brown haired girl exclaims with determination in her eyes.
"Yes! This time we're sure it'll work!", Yaoyorozu joins only for everyone to look at the two dumbfounded.
"What?", Shouto asks utterly confused as Midoriya sighs.
"Is this really what this is about?", Iida asks as Tsuyu nods.
"Of course!", the two girls exclaim making everyone groan.
"Now listen up! The plan is that Momo will pretend to be Todoroki girlfriend to make Y/n jealous.", Ochako starts and the black haired girl continues.
"After seeing us together she'll finally realize her feelings and make her move. And then they'll live happily ever after!", she says with starts in her eyes as a confetti popper is launched in the background only for dead silence to follow.
"I don't think this is a good idea.", Shouto says.
"I agree.", Iida says in his support and Tsuyu nods
"Yeah I don't think-", the sweet natured boy attempts to reason only for him to be cut-off before he even began.
"Oh come on guys! Don't be such party poopers.", Uravity says.
"Yes, I believe this plan is at least worth a try.", Momo joins earning mumbles of agreement as the half-n-half hair coloured boy sighs.
"Alright, but I have a bad feeling about this.", Todoroki says finally giving in.
✩。:*•.───── 🥀 ─────.•*:。✩
"Bye Y/n! Get well soon! We love you!", you disconnect the call after you wave goodbye to your friends, finally letting the fake smile drop.
Today was day three of you coughing out petals.
For the past two days you'd desperately been trying to reassure yourself  that it was only a quirk malfunction, that it was anything but THAT. But there was no running from it now.
There no denying that this was anything but, HANAHAKI. You were sure of it, because this was just the way your mother had died after your father left because he was cheating on her.
'Talk about like mother like daughter.'
Your friends of course, knew nothing of this. You'd taken sick leave since yesterday in hopes that proper rest would help wear off the 'effects of the quirk' quickly.
"So this is it I guess.", you say to yourself, chuckling as tears begin to fall. The fact that you were gonna DIE, finally sinking in.
Now, you weren't like one of those movie characters that would've been happy about this, making some dumb and corny dialogue like, 'I'd rather  die than live without you'. You had no intentions of dying because things didn't work out with some boy. These things happened, you knew that. Sure it felt like shit at the moment but it wasn't something that would make you wish for death. Life was gonna go on and you you would find someone else. But not anymore.
There was of course, the option of the surgery, but it was exorbitantly costly and you didn't even have that sort of money in your dreams so that pretty much unavailable.
"I can't believe this.", you scoff.
"I'm gonna die"
✩。:*•.───── 🥀 ─────.•*:。✩
One week later⏳
Ringgggg, Ringggg
With great difficulty you open your eyes to see the contact name light up.
Incoming call from: Pinkie pie💗
Not having the energy to answer you continue to stare at the phone screen for a few minutes before it stops ringing. The lock screen then lights up.
30 Missed calls from 7 contacts
'Here it comes', you think as another coughing fit takes over, the feeling having become way too familiar for your liking, and you bend over the bucket you'd dragged out a day ago.
It's only been 10 days since you started experiencing Hanahaki, but you already felt dead.
You chest ached, your throat burned, and there were tears in your eyes every time you coughed. You felt lightheaded 24/7 and you entire body was numb.
It had gotten worse in the past 4 days, when you had coughed out your first flower. You couldn't even answer your phone anymore, as your voice wouldn't even come out now, and you throat hurt like shit whenever you did try to talk, neither did your arms have the energy to do so. Even the plates of food that were left untouched had started to pile up now.
All you did at this point was cough out petals. You couldn't even sleep because of how frequent it had become, the bags under your eyes being clear indicators of this.
Your friend shad rightfully started to worry as you wouldn't answer their calls anymore and would only text back short replies.
Once again you start to hack out flowers, now falling down in an attempt to bend over.
"Oi dumbass.", you hear a familiar voice say. "Open the door."
"Bakugou?", you breathe out, your voice barely above a whisper.
His tome softens, "Look, I-the idiots are freaking out, and I am too, so-just answer me please so I know you're alright."
You start coughing again and when he doesn't get any response he only sighs putting his head against the door.
"Look, I know you're awake. Listen, I-if this has anything to do with Icy-hot just tell me. I'll beat the crap outta him. Just open the door please. You're scaring us.
'Oh poor, sweet Bakugou', you think. If only he knew. If only your friends knew.
But they didn't.
Because you didn't tell them.
You didn't tell them anything.
Which was why they were so worried.
So upset.
Because of YOU
You thought you'd be doing them a favor by not telling them. You'd told yourself it was better this way, but it'd only made it worse for THEM.
'They deserve to know. I don't wanna die all alone.', you say to yourself as your begin to try stand and move to the door slowly.
Hearing movement from your side mad ethe ash blonde's face light up, only to go back into worry mode when he hears you fall down as your legs give in from under you.
Propping yourself on your elbows you crawl over to the door slowly as you begin to cough again. Finally you unlock the door falling limp on the ground.
The light that enters with the opening of the door was painful to say the least. Falling on your back you shut you eyes close.
Meanwhile, the small amount of happiness Katsuki had initially felt on you unlocking the door faded away into a look of horror as his gaze fell on the bloody mess in your room and then finally....You, who only smiled at him.
Rolling over, you attempt to get up only to fall onto your knees coughing. Snapping out of his shock, Bakugou goes to support you as you fall over bloodying his clothes and hands.
"No, no, no, no, no.", he says taking you into his lap, making you face him, taking your bloodied hands in his.
"Y/n, what-?"
"Icy-hot happened.", you manage to force out with a sad smile.
"No. This can't-No. It can't be-you-you can't. I-", there were tears in his eyes now.
"But it is.", you say as tears start to well-up in your eyes.
"I'm dying.", you choke out as he begins shaking his head, making you reach out as your tears finally escape.
"No. Don't you dare say that. Don't you dare think you're getting rid of me that easily"
"I don't wanna die Katsuki.", you say crying and he begins to sob. "I don't wanna die either, I don't wanna leave you guys either."
"But.", you say pulling yourself together. "There's nothing we can do about it. I am dying"
"No, you're not! Not on my watch.", he says desperately. "OI! DEKU! KIRISHIMA! ASHIDO! KAMINARI! ANYONE COME QUICK!"
You direct his gaze down back at you, "Hey, Katsuki. Listen, it's gonna be OKAY.", you try reassuring him as a trail of blood flows out your mouth and you start coughing again.
"No No No No No No.", he cries. "This can't be happening. Y/n, no!"
"You know Katsuki, I love it when you smile.", you slur. "You should do it more often.", you say breathlessly
You vision starts to blur and Katsuki's voice becomes distant as you eyes start to close.
"No Y/n! Please no! You can't. Please no! I love you, please!"
✩。:*•.───── 🥀 ─────.•*:。✩
Katsuki wondered how it ended up like this.
It wasn't SUPPOSED to end up like THIS.
He'd had feelings for you for quite some time now, but all his hopes were bashed to the ground, the day he found out you liked Half-n-Half of all people.
'It's fine.', he'd told himself, what mattered to him the most was your friendship at the present, so it didn't matter.
He'd been mentally preparing himself from then on for the day you'd finally confess to icy-hot. And when the day had finally arrived he'd told himself to support you in his own way, and no one could even begin to imagine how much he had to restrain himself to not beat the crap outta that Half-n-half bastard when he'd heard you crying in your room, as you belittled yourself.
It pained him to know that you couldn't see how amazing and charming you were. How beautiful your smile was and how it could light up his whole day. How there was a certain grace in the way you did everything. How amazing you were in everything you did and how he'd thought you'd make a great hero. And how that half-n-half bastard doesn't deserve you if he couldn't see this.
He wanted to go talk to you, maybe this could've peen avoided that way, but Racoon eyes told him not to. To give you some space. She told him that you just needed some time alone and then you'd be fine. She'd known you longer than him after all. So that's what he did, even if everyday of not seeing you was torture, whatever to make you feel better as soon as possible. Although he still came to try check on you when he came to give you your food. But that was it.
If only he'd known.
Curse him for listening to others for once. If he'd have gone with his gut instinct for once maybe things would've turned out differently.
Maybe then they could've prevented this. Maybe then you wouldn't have to suffer so much. Maybe then those pretty eyes of yours wouldn't have had to shed so many tears. Maybe then he wouldn't be sitting in shock covered in your blood right now, Maybe then he wouldn't have been surrounded by your friends crying as your teachers called and ambulance with you in his lap as he desperately tried to wake you up. Maybe then he wouldn't have felt this sense of dread and the fear of loosing you as you were carried to the hospital.
Maybe then, the two of you could've had your happily ever after.
✩。:*•.───── 🥀 ─────.•*:。✩
"Oh man it feels good to be back!", you exclaim happily looking at the familiar school building in front of you as you were accompanied back by Mr. Aizawa.
You'd finally been discharged from the hospital after the two weeks of recovery since your surgery were over, in the duration of which you were not allowed any visitors other than your teachers.
You'd only seen your friends when you'd woken up in the hospital room after the operation had taken place, (the cost of which UA oh-so-generously bore, after all they couldn't rid the world of an amazing upcoming hero) and boy did they look horrible.
They all had terrible dark circles under their eyes and their faces and eyes were red from all the crying. Needless to say they were all there. Except of course, a certain heterochromatic boy who was banned from seeing you by the Bakusquad (not that you were aware of his missing presence anymore).
The surgery had removed the flowers growing in your lungs along with your memories of the person who was the cause of those and all the related ones. The last two weeks of your life were hence a blur, and you had to be briefed as to why you were here. (They left out a whole lot of course)
You still didn't know the name of the person who was the reason you were in the hospital, but you decided to leave the matter alone as it didn't matter now because, YOU WERE BACK.
The thought of finally seeing your friends again made you ecstatic. So much so, that you tackled them as soon as you saw them in the hallway. Seeing you immediately washed away any traces of worry that were on their faces as they tightly clung onto you.
Obviously, few tears were shed. (Okay, a LOT of tears were shed.) They let you go for a minute, giving Katsuki an opportunity to engulf you into another hug, smiling as tears escaped his eyes.
"Okay, Kats-uhm nice to see you too but I kinda can't breathe.", you say.
"Whatever idiot.", he mumbles as he hugs you tightly, as if you'd disappear if he were to let go.
Catching a sight of you, your classmates rushed to your side relieved of your well being.
"Todoroki! Look! Y/n's back!", Iida exclaims gaining all the attention of the boy next to him, his eyes widening in shock.
✩。:*•.───── 🥀 ─────.•*:。✩
It'd been quite a few days you'd called in sick and your short and obviously false replies it was clear to everyone that you weren't getting better anytime soon.
Todoroki of course was very worried and somehow couldn't help feeling guilty. Of course, your sickness and their plan could've been entirely unrelated but still a part of him couldn't help but feel this was his fault.
Hence, he decided to do something to make you feel better. So, he set out to buy you somethings, that included you favorite chocolates and a small bouquet.
A bouquet of Autum Bellflowers.
Shouto knew these were his mothers favorite flowers, he'd developed a liking to them too. He just hoped that you'd like them.
Shouto smiled to himself contently as he looked at the small bag in his hands. He just hoped you'd appreciate the gesture. Hey! If things went nicely maybe he'd even tell you how he felt. Maybe even offer to take you on a date after you recovered.
However, the faint vision of a happy future he had begun to envision soon shattered as he saw the entrance of your room.
The inside was way worse though. It was all covered with blood and the very same flowers he was holding right now. The shock made him drop the gifts he had so fondly gotten for you. He only ran about mindlessly trying to find out what had happened.
One of the teachers on the floor filled him in and he sprinted out of the building running all the way to the hospital  in a panicked frenzy as if his life depended on it. What were mere minutes felt like hours to him as he ran to the floor of your room.
He bumped into quite a lot of people on the way, but that didn't matter. The only thing on his mind right now was You.
How this was all his fault. How much you'd meant to him. How he didn't want to loose you.
Outside your stood Principal Nezu, Miss Midnight and Mr. Aizawa who was nervously pacing around. Mina was being comforted by Miss Midnight while Denki, Sero and Kirishima sat blaming themselves trying desperately to stop the tears.
Bakugou though. Bakugou sat quietly in the corner with his head hung, his clothes and hands still bloody.
The sound of footsteps grabbed everyone's attention as the heterochromatic boy came to a halt.
"Todoroki, you should-", Midnight was cut off by Mina grabbing the boy by his collar.
"What are you doing here?", she spat venomously.
"I-", the sound of a loud slap cut him off.
"You're not wanted here.", she says letting go and retreating.
"Todoroki you should head back.", Aizawa says.
"Please! I just wanna see her! I just wanna know how she is!", he says earning a sarcastic chuckle from the ash blonde who'd been silent this whole time.
"Oh yeah? So you care now?", Bakugou says.
"Fine then, I'll tell you.", he answers getting up. "The doctors say she might not make it past the night, They says it's too far gone to be treated by that true-love bullshit you might be thinking of trying. They say even with the surgery there's a chance she might not live. They say even if the surgery is successful she might loose the ability to feel emotions. THEY SAY THAT THERE'S A CHANCE WE MIGHT NEVER SEE HER AGAIN"
There was little distance left between the two now. Tears that made their way upto both their eyes threatened to spill any moment now.
"I-"
"Let me guess. You're sorry?", The blonde scoffs. " Well, your sorry won't change anything now. It won't change how she suffered for days. It won't change how scared she looked when she cried that she didn't want t die. It won't change how lifeless she looked as she fell unconscious and it definitely won't change how she might die tonight."
Katsuki's tone was harsh and his words were bitter and cut deep, but every word was true.
He was the cause of this and that was that. Remorse wouldn't change anything now.
And so, the peppermint haired boy was led back to the dorms where he would continue to suffer.
For two weeks he continued to blame himself. For two weeks he continued to be miserable. For two weeks he continued to be unable to sleep or eat. For two weeks he continued to try  visit you and for two weeks he was denied the permission to even set foot on the same floor.
✩。:*•.───── 🥀 ─────.•*:。✩
Todoroki's eyes widened in disbelief on seeing you. There you were. Looking as beautiful as ever. He thought he'd lost you but there you were.
For two weeks he had longed to see you face. Every passing day felt like years.
Letting his emotions take control he rushes over, pushing past the crowd to pull you into a tight embrace.
Meanwhile you only stood there stiffly, shocked at the sudden action. Slowly, you pull away from the boy giving him an awkward smile as you step back.
"Uhm-", you begin confused. "Do I know you?"
You could actually see the moment hear the moment his world came crashing down. The sound of his heart shattering into tiny pieces could almost be heard in the background, your words being daggers aimed straight at it.
"What-", he begins to say only to be interrupted by Bakugou.
"That's no one important.", he says putting an arm around your shoulder.
"Oh, are you sure..?", you ask earning a yes from him. Just then Iida comes saying Principal Nezu wanted to see you.
"Oh, okay then." you say turning to the half-n-half hair colored boy in front of you. "Well, I'll see you around then I guess.", you say giving him a smile.
"Wait Ashido!", Shouto says grabbing onto her shoulder as you all leave. "Is this a joke?", he says shaking. "Why's she acting like she doesn't remember me?", he asks on the verge of breaking down into tears right then and there.
The girl only looks at him with anger and hate in her eyes as she yanks away her shoulder. "It was one of the perks of the surgery.", she says. "The surgery removed the flowers and the memories of the one who caused them. It's better this way if you ask me.", she answers and joins the group while the boy only stands there in shock.
'She doesn't remember me?'
✩。:*•.───── 🥀 ─────.•*:。✩
"Where were you?", you ask your friend as she jogs up to you and rejoins the group and joins Kirishima and the others in their conversation.
"Oh, it's nothing.", she answers as you nod looking at Bakugou who'd been staring for a while.
"What?", you ask giving a confused smile. "Is there something on my face? Or wait do I look dumber than usual?", you ask playfully.
"Nothing.", he says smiling softly as he reaches out to take your hand in his and you let him.
"Awww, did you miss me so much?", you tease and he looks away blushing.
"Shut up.", he mumbles.
"Oh come on Kats, you know you love me.", you continue teasing as he explodes red and starts stuttering making you chuckle.
'Well that's something you don't see every day'
"Well then, I guess you wouldn't mind joining me when I go check out that new café that's opened.", you ask him looking down.
Katsuki only smiles softly. This. This was the moment he'd been waiting for so long.
"Sure."
Two weeks ago he thought he'd lost you. It was a miracle when the doctors informed them the surgery was a success and now he finally got you back. And this time he was never gonna let you go.
You could finally have your Happily Ever After.
Icy-hot already got his chance and plundered it. Even he knew that which was why he only stood back with a sad smile on his face.
Everyone looked happy.
You looked Happy, which was honestly all he cared about.
He wanted you to have a bright and happy future, even if it meant he wouldn't be in it.
As long as you were happy, it was all that mattered.
He would do anything to protect your happiness and well, if it meant that he had to removed from the equation, then so be it.
Still, he couldn't help but wonder
'Is there anyway, you would Love me again?'

Nightmares
Pairing : Shoto x Reader
Tumblr media
Shoto wasn't the type to show affection. He was the "silent type", as you liked to call him. He wondered what it meant. He was rather talkative to you, at least more than with anybody else. He shared his story with you, his goals and some of his fears. Most of those he had hidden from you were about you. His job as a hero made him a little bit paranoid. You called that "protective", but he knew what it was. Seeing so many people hurt, in danger, or even dead, he couldn't help but to fear it might happen to you too. He wanted to think that he was strong enough to protect you, that you were never in danger to begin with, but he couldn't stop these thoughts when he was asleep. It was the exact same nightmare everytime.
You were in danger and he couldn't protect you.
He started to fear leaving for work, leaving you alone. Then, he had started to fear going home, and find you hurt. Now, he was afraid of going to sleep. He couldn't protect you when he was asleep. And he had been dreaming of your death more and more often.
He didn't want to bother you with those fears. He couldn't tell you about them because they were about you.
But you still felt something was wrong. His breath was short when he was coming back home, as if he had run home. His dark circles were getting bigger and bigger, but he laid down in bed next to you every night. You wondered if he was overworking. You couldn't really stop him from going and saving people, but you made everything so he could be comfortable when he was with you.
That night, you fell asleep early and you didn't get to greet Shoto when he came home. You woke up in the middle of the night. He was asleep next to you, holding you tight. You weren't sleepy anymore, but you liked being in his arms.
After a few minutes, you decided to get up and drink water. You couldn't just stay still and wait, and you didn't want to wake him up either. You decided you would go there once you were a little more sleepy.
You didn't want to turn the light of the kitchen on, fearing it might wake your boyfriend up. You poured yourself a glass of water in the dark, only light up by the outzide lights.
- Y/N ?
You heard a loud scream. You recognized your boyfriend's voice.
- Shoto ? I'm here !
You heard a loud banging. He had knocked the door open.
- Y/N ? you heard him scream again.
Didn't he hear you the first time ? Or was he still asleep ?
You heard him run to the kitchen. He turned on the light. His eyes met yours and all you saw was fear. Intense fear.
- I'm here, you said slowly.
You could hear him breathe loudly, like it was hard to do so.
- I'm here, you repeated.
You walked to him. When you were right in front of him, you heard him say with difficulty :
- I thought you were gone.
And then, he fell right into your arms. You both fell on the ground. He wasn't moving, his eyes were closed and he looked so peaceful that you it looked like he wasn't panicked a minute ago. You realized it had been a while since you had seen him like this, and you wondered how long it has been since the last time he really slept. You didn't dare to move. You thought about his words.
Gone ? Did he think that you had left the house or that you were...
You shook your head. You had to talk about it with him in the morning. You could still remember the panic in his eyes, so different to how he usually looked. You had notice he had been more on edge lately, but you didn't know it was eating his soul that much.
His eyes suddenly flashed open.
- Y/N, he said with a much more relaxed voice.
You smiled at his tired face.
- You're OK, he only said.
You nodded.
- Of course, I am.
He got up, holding your hand.
- Let's go back to bed, he simply said.
You didn't object as he dragged you to your bedroom. When you were both in bed, you decided to ask :
- Do you wanna talk about it ?
He was still holding your hand. Like he couldn't let go.
- It's nothing, I just... have nightmares.
- Do you wanna talk about it ? you repeated.
- No, he quickly said.
There was a silence. You moved closer to him, to get in his arms. It was fine even if he didn't want to talk about it. You would still be there for him. He knew that, but maybe he forgot for a little moment.
- You die. Every single time.
You didn't say anything.
- Sometimes I wake up right away, and you're in my arms. When I don't, I'm forced to leave in a world where you're not with me anymore.
You heard him sniff.
- It's always my fault. I can't protect you.
Finally, you said :
- It's not real. You don't need to protect me.
- But what if I have to and I don't make it ?
- I don't know what you've seen but I know the world is scary and dangerous. It has always been and it probably always will be but no matter what, we'll face it together. I will always be by your side.
He nodded, even though you probably couldn't see it. He wished he had told you about his worries sooner, he wished he went to your warm and reassuring arms sooner.
He remembered all those night, when he woke up and waited to hear your soft breath. He would hear it every single day. He would see your sweet sleeping face every single morning, he would feel you when you hugged him when he got back from work.
He hugged you tighter. Tighter and tighter.
- Is everything ok ? you asked.
You sounded like you were suffocating, but still didn't want to let you go. He was still shaking from the shock of his nightmare.
- I... I just...
He couldn't even speak anymore. He had a big lump in his throat that stopped it from doing it.
- It's fine, I'm here.
The lump disappeared when he finally let out a sob. You caressed his cheek.
- I'll always be there.
You didn't stop comforting him until he fell asleep. You stayed awake all night, making sure he got a good night sleep.
