#traditional art #painting #it got wet like 10 years ago and since its made of particle board it expanded and the vaneer melted off #it used to have a butterfly on it but it broke off and cracked in half #ive had the lid painted blue bc i always intended to repair it and never got around to it #i only now got it done because my mom started dropping hints she was disappointed it was damaged and ugly #not super proud of this but its fine my main problem is not being able to center the leopard better but oh well.

At sone point some years ago I started saying "I am going to be productive" ironically and I could have never imagined how much damage this made. I am still trying to repair this mess and to unlearn to say this.

#personal #the saga of the roof drain leak #the leak started essentially the day i moved in (in july 2021) #bc the previous tenant had screwed something into the wall there and consequently pierced the drainpipe #and then he removed the screws when he moved out #so there were 2 holes in the pipe #and every time it rained the water damage would get worse #i put in a repair request right away but nothing happened #wound up asking my dad to help me patch the holes (essentially he put 2 screws back in w/ plumbing sealant) #and then there was a big gaping hole in the wall & a grey drainpipe with screws sticking out of it #for months and months #it is now finally fixed!!!!!

#why did my stupid IT high school didn't teach me how to solder #To be fair #they didn't even teach me how to apply thermal compound to a CPU #legit only learned it during my apprenticeship #wish they taught me soldering too :(( fixing printers was fun but soldering would have been more useful #basically my headphones would use repairs #as in #they have a detachable wire #and the mini jack port is clearly damaged #A replacement port would probably run me around 15PLN #and uhhhh new headphones would run me at least 180PLN soooooo #yeahhh #I could always buy that port and ask my dad to try and replace it #I could ask him to lend me his soldering iron and attempt it myself??????? I’m having a bad time rn and a hard week and unfortunately all of my irl friends are busy with important other things bc that’s adulthood so I just have to get through this crisis on my own

Sorry to put a vent post on here but I’m going to explode and some of my irl friends follow my main account and I don’t want them to feel guilty

#so the apartment above mine leaked while I was at my parents for the summer and a lot of the ceiling and some of the walls need the drywall #replaced and like the water didn’t damage my belongings bc miraculously the leaks were over empty floor #BUT bc I was across the country the workers and my landlord had to move my stuff around my apartment etc #AND now the condominium company took over the repairs and is being super slow #so my landlord company put me up in a furnished apartment so I’m not homeless or anything #but i finally went and saw my apartment yesterday and just it was upsetting to see my home like in shambles #and all of my stuff has been touched and moved and like nothing was stolen it’s just #it was necessary for my privacy to be violated yknow and like my entire bathroom sink anf vanity had to be ripped out and it’s a mess and #like there’s plaster dust everywhere and the repairs won’t be done for god idk probably more than a week #and then I’m going to have to clean so much and like go through each individual item I own and wipe off the plaster dust #and like see what is and isn’t damaged to see if it’s worth filing renters insurance #and like I’m so busy i start teaching and taking classes in two weeks and I have terrifying exams in September like I don’t have time for #this and I don’t have a car and I don’t like always asking for rides all the time and it’s just #this is such a bad time to have a crisis #and my parents live on the other side of the country #like it could be so much worse I could have to move or like I could have been robbed but it still is bad #I’m so stressed all the time #and it’s gonna cost money in general like having to replace damaged things

#i know being frustrated at an insurance agent is a normal human experience but i am not having a good time #like brain fuzz for the entire week but now im not even confused/upset im just. trying to get on with things #like ive called everyone i needed to call and theyre all great but the one person they need to sign off on car rental/repairs/whatev..... #isnt calling me back #like fuck i need my car back and i found out they havent even CALLED the lot it was towed to yet #what is the point of having insurance if i am still at the mercy of the other driver's insurance #and i know theyre gonna drag this investigation out cause they dont want to accept liability when it was an unbelievably clear cut accident #sorry the investigation that hasnt even started yet. good god. #i have work to do! i have meetings i need to be in person for like girl come on #and my beloved honda civic. my folks were like you should sue for PI but in reality its the emotional damage of being w/o my car #its gonna need at least two weeks of repairs i know this the tow guy TOLD me this so would love to get started i hate this
