Blow Him Kisses
“His left hand cradles my head while His right hand holds me close. I am at rest in this love. The Shepherd-King Promise Me, brides-to-be, by the gentle gazelles and delicate deer, that you’ll not disturb My love until she is ready to arise. The Shulamite Listen! I hear my lover’s voice. I know it’s Him coming to me— leaping with joy over mountains, skipping in love over the hills that separate us, to come to me.” Song of Solomon 2:6-8TPT
God sent me back to read theSong of Solomon. I’ve read and studied different scholars’ thoughts simultaneously. Before the Passion Translation, I always skipped Song Of Solomon. It didn’t make sense and sounded like a poetic, weird, love story. After reading ‘Hind Feet On High Places’ by Hannah Hurnard my interest changed. Hurnard used verses from the Song of Solomon, to depict love between Much Afraid and the Shepherd, (Jesus.)
Wendy Alec’s book ‘Visions From Heaven’ has a chapter, The Father’s Friend— love between an extremely poor, beggarly woman and Father God. By human standards, this woman would’ve had no significance— a bleep on life's screen.
Similarities between Much Afraid and the beggarly woman— both had captured the heart of their Beloved King through their love, praise and absolute adoration. They were totally abandoned to loving the Father. Nothing even remotely blurred the goal of their hearts— to be in God’s Presence.
Hurnard’s book’s— fictitious about overcoming fear with love for and from God. Alec’s book details encounters with real people, (some she’d known,) seen by her, when Christ took her into heaven. People, Christ wanted her to see and be impacted by their afterlife in heaven.
Quoting pg 132 ‘Visions From Heaven,’ “The woman knelt in her tiny attic bedroom, her hands raised, her face shining in complete and utter adoration, worshipping the Father. “‘You are glorious, glorious, all glorious… Holy, Holy, …You are beautiful…,’ she was uttering. Then she would blow Him kisses, and lean her head on His breast like  a small child with its mother, and always, always she would sing love songs to the Father. And then I saw the scenario change and I watched her worship and child-like adoration move in a flame of fire, like a huge flame of white incense through the roof through the skies of Earth and through the heavens, and the white flame came upon the altar before the Father’s throne.”
Mother devoted her senior years to Jesus. Sitting in her room, she spent hours daily praising, ‘making love to Jesus.’ “My beloved is to me the most fragrant apple tree— He stands above the sons of men. Sitting under His grace-shadow, I blossom in His shade, enjoying the sweet taste of His pleasant, delicious fruit, resting with delight where His glory never fades.” Song Of Solomon 2: 3TPT.
Why do we wait until our senior years to spend those hours loving Jesus? I remember doing this before going to work. Housework done quickly, it was mine and Jesus’ time. Often I’d blow Him kisses in thanks.
Now, life spins around so fast, keeping up with work, writing, etc. Finally, I’m no longer striving to climb to the top of the heap. But time is still short. God is continually saying, ‘Come away with Me.’ “His left hand cradles my head while His right hand holds me close…”  True riches belong to even the poorest believers in earthly status, when they’ve taken the time to be rich in God’s Presence? Where does your wealth lie? It’s your choice. You choose.
PRAYER: Lord God forgive me for being too busy in the things of life. We’ve got this backwards. Didn’t you say to seek first Your kingdom and You'd supply our needs? Help us to get life correct, finding wealth in worship, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Genesis 5:1-7:24, Matthew 3:7-4:11, Psalms 3:1-8, Proverbs 1:10-19
Today is the 3rd day of January welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I am Brian it's great to be here with you for day three of our new decade in our third day on our journey that will lead us through the entire Bible this year. So, we’re still moving in. It takes a good week to kind of get moved in and find the rhythm and get into all the new books and talk about all the different things that…that are going on in the Bible as we encounter them. So, we’ve had a chance in the last couple of days talk about Genesis and Matthew and so today when we get to the Psalms, we’ll talk about them, but first let's continue our journey. We’re reading from the New Living Translation this week. Genesis chapters 5 through 7 today.
Introduction to the book of Psalms:
Okay. So, like I mentioned at the beginning, over the last couple of days we've begun to understand, or at least talk about the context for the book that we’re reading. So, we talked about Genesis. We talked about Matthew yesterday. So, let's talk about Psalms today. And Psalms is actually not a book per se. It’s like five books in one and we’ll notice when we’re moving into the next book because it announces itself in the Psalms. And these books are…are kind of grouped, separated by the author or by the theme of the…of…of the prayer or song of worship or liturgy or by their purpose and…and certainly dating all the way back into deep antiquity these Psalms have stood the test of time and then carried forward. They have been considered from within the faith, and for that matter from without the faith as a priceless collection of beautiful poetry and songs and hymns and congregational singing's and individual songs that the world has ever known. This is the prayer book of the of the Hebrew people and of Christians alike. And…and certainly more enduring than any of the pop songs that we may be hearing today. And one of the voices that we’ll get to know really, really well in the Psalms will be that of the second king of Israel and his name is David. And he’s famous, like you’ve probably heard of King David before we haven’t met him in the Scriptures yet, but we will, actually quite intimately we’ll get to understand David and how he became who he became when we get to the books of Kings and the books of Samuel the books of Chronicles. And, so, that will tell us about David but it's the Psalms that reveal the heart of David that can be found in the outpouring of his heart into his art. And the Bible tells in quite detail that David was a skilled and gifted musician, among other things. And, so, we are currently reading in the Psalms book 1. And today we’ll read Psalm chapter 3, a Psalm of David regarding the time David fled from his son Absalom.
Commentary:
Okay. Let's talk about a couple things. Let’s talk about something in Genesis today and let's talk about something in Matthew today.
And the thing in Genesis is not something that we can just unpack here, it’s something that we just need to start noticing as we go forward because weird, seemingly strange things like this, kind of peak their heads up in the Bible with no explanation leaving on an incredible amount of speculation among biblical scholars over the millennia. So, let me just read the first couple of verses of Genesis chapter 6. “Then the people began to multiply on the earth and daughters were born to them in the sons of God saw the beautiful women and took any they wanted as their wives. Then the Lord said, my spirit will not put up with humans for such a long time, for they are only mortal flesh. In the future their normal life span will be no more than 120 years. In those days and for some time after, giant Nephilites lived on the earth, for whenever the sons of God had intercourse with women, they gave birth to children who became the heroes and famous warriors of ancient times.” Okay, so, awesome. Tat's in the Bible. What in the world does that mean? And that's been asked for millennia and that’s one of these places we’re fanciful things begin to grow extra biblically - traditions and legends begin to grow. So, like there’s…there's definitely interpretations that these sons of God were perhaps a different version of humanity that fell and that were still upon the earth and then the Lord made new humans. There's other traditions or speculations that these…these are fallen…fallen spiritual beings who were obviously upon the earth and mated with human women. The last one is probably more likely because from a theological perspective we understand that God has a human family upon the earth. And we also have glimpses in the Bible that God has a spiritual family that is beyond flesh and blood humanity. And that’s not so hard for us to get our minds around. We believe that we are a part of God's spiritual family in spirit, but we’re, you know, humans here upon the earth. But we are told of beings like the angelic messengers sent by God, they're all throughout the Bible as well as battles that are fought in the spiritual realms, including the one that we saw in the book of Matthew today when Jesus was led into the wilderness to be tempted. So, the idea that there is a spiritual realm is pretty much bedrock to our spirituality and we have some awareness that there are beings in this spiritual realm, some of them that serve God and some of them that are lost in the darkness and are trying to deceive humanity, God's family upon this earth. Like, I realize we don't think about this stuff necessarily all of the time. But what I'm saying here, this isn’t a stretch, this is all in the Bible. It appears that these beings in the spiritual realm who are created beings have a will and some chose rebellion against God in some fashion. So, a scenario then that theologically works is perhaps that God has and had a divine family, created beings who were not the most high God but beings that were also created in His image and were His family, perhaps sent here to steward and care for his earthly family. Okay. So, could be like, “alright, wait a second, let me think that one through here.” But let me just remind us that when we get to the writings of the apostle Paul, and that’s gonna be a few months from now, but when we get to the writings of the apostle Paul and he begins to flesh out theologically what is happening because of the work of Christ in this world, we will find that we are being transformed in, basically into a new species that the divine nature of God is something that we partake in, and that the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells…indwells us, lives within us, has become a part of who we are. And, so this idea of a divine family is interwoven all throughout the Scriptures. So, perhaps this divine family of God, stewarding the earth, and this is all in the Bible, God sending messengers to do things to get things accomplished, to tell things, like this is all over the Bible. But then when we read Genesis 6 it's not so strange – “the sons of God saw the beautiful women and took any they wanted as their wives. And the great Nephilim or the Anakim, the giants of the land, the great warriors and heroes of times untold comes from this.” These kinds of traditions are found in all kinds of the world's ancient religions. The one distinction here in the Hebrew Scriptures is that there is only one most-high God. God may have divine lesser beings and those beings may have been worshiped as gods, but there is only one most-high God. And, so, if one of these divine beings in God's family, who were sent to be caretakers and watch over God's human family stepped over the line and engaged in sexual activity with human women then we at least get a little glimpse, some sort of an understanding of this undercurrent that has just popped its head up in the Bible. And we’ll note that these…these giants right, these giants in the land. Those of you of you…you’re like…you're familiar with all the stories in the Bible, when we get to the Jordan River and we’re gonna cross over into the promised land and it's going to be taken. Who is it, they were afraid of, right? They were afraid of the giants. And who was it that they had to conquer? It was the giants, right? So, like, we see this theme that’s not apparent but is in plain sight and we see traditions like this one continue through the Bible. So, like when we get to the writings of Paul, he instructs women to…to wear headdress, to cover their heads because of the Angels, coming back to this tradition. This understanding…so I'm not trying to give anything definitive here. I…in fact, it’s rare that I will do that. What I often try to do is give us things that we need to wrestle with, and that we need to think through because when we are willing to wrestle with something then it's something that's going to become meaningful and have value in our lives as opposed to just another nice piece of encouraging content that, you know, we can find anywhere. So, I'm not trying to definitively explain the sons of God and the daughters of Eve and the giants and like…I'm just trying to say, “note here that something has peaked its head up in the Bible that we’re like, what is that?” And it won't be the last time, but every time we encounter something like this, it will be referring to this divine spiritual realm that we’re speaking of today.
Okay then, in the New Testament in the book of Matthew, Jesus is led into the wilderness where He’s being challenged, we’re He’s being tempted and the evil one’s tempting Jesus, essentially with the easy way out, with the invitation to just get what you came for, be done with it, not have any difficulties, just abort the mission. There's just...there's only one thing that needs to be done. You can have all of it if you bow down and worship me. This is what the evil one is saying to Jesus. And, of course, Jesus rebukes the evil one in this temptation and sends him on his way and once He's done that then He receives the ministering Spirits, right, sent from God…God’s divine family sent to minister to Jesus. What we need to understand though is that we go through the same kinds of things on a daily basis. There's always the temptation for the easy way out and there's always the narrow path that leads to life. And we respond in…in either way, and we can look at our own lives and see where those paths choose. Each of us will choose to eat forbidden fruit or we will choose to know God by walking with God. As fundamental and baseline as this is, this really is the pattern of life itself. We’re either going to eat forbidden fruit and sink further and further into the darkness away from our father, away from our source of life itself or we’re going to run into Him in these times of temptation and reject the path that will lead to our destruction. The thing is, we all get to choose that today, not just at some point in the future. This is a choice that we make every day, sometimes every hour, sometimes every minute, but the choice toward righteousness will always lead us on the narrow path that leads to life, and the choice toward consuming the forbidden fruit will always lead us to our destruction and we get to pick. Our choices matter. So, what are you gonna choose today?
Prayer:
Father, we invite You into that. In fact, we invite You and all of this. In fact, we invite You into everything that will be said in this entire year. Come Holy Spirit and lead us into all truth. That's what we’re here for. We didn't come here to find further deception. That's easy. We came here to find truth and You’ve promised that You would reveal it to us if we seek it with all of our hearts. And we do. So, come Holy Spirit. Show us even today how the choices that we make will construct this day and when we go to bed tonight, we will have lived what we honestly believe about You no matter what we say. So, help us Father to see the choices that we’re make…we’re making and give us eyes to see where those paths are leading. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Announcements:
dailyaudiobible.com is the website and that is home base, its where you find what's going on around here, as we say most every day because it is where you find out what's going on around here.
Here in this first days of the year we’re just trying to highlight different aspects of the community and what's going on. So, we’re just moving into this new year. And today I just want to highlight the other…other channels that make up the Daily Audio Bible family.
So, this is the Daily Audio Bible and we’re moving through the Bible in a year by reading a little from the New Testament, Old Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs every day. But there’s also the Daily Audio Psalm. And this moves through the Psalms exclusively as we do in the Daily Audio Bible. Like, we talked about the Psalms today and about…I mean…this ancient prayer and worship book. And it is all of that, but inside the Psalms are so many of the issues of the heart that there…it gives language to the things that we are sensing or feeling but may not be able to put words to. And, so, it’s very, very valuable in our lives. And, so, we created the Daily Audio Psalm as a companion. So, maybe you listen to the Daily Audio Bible in the morning then before you got to bed or whatever you just get a little bit of the Psalms into your life and allow them to wash into your mind drift and let you drift off to sleep in peace. It's a great resource.
Also, the Daily Audio Proverb. So, Proverbs we haven’t talked about. We’ll talk about Proverbs tomorrow, but we go through a little bit of the Proverbs each day because some…like I have said in the past, one sentence from the Proverbs can keep you thinking all day sometimes. And, so, we have that space to meditate upon it. But the Daily Audio Proverb goes through a chapter of Proverbs each day, going through the entire book of Proverbs each month. When we talk about Proverbs, we’re talking about pouring the unfiltered wisdom and advice of the ages of the millennia into our souls and into our hearts. So, imagine if you pour wisdom into your life every single day this year, what might be happening inside of you, especially if you begin to listen and obey the voice of wisdom in your life every day? So, that's Daily Audio Proverb
There’s also Daily Audio Bible Chronological. So, my daughter China, who has been reading the Daily Audio Bible for a decade, herself, has launched a couple years ago, Daily Audio Bible Chronological. And, so, this is working through the entire Bible in a year chronologically, so reading through the events of the Bible in the order that they happened. And, so, that is available. And she's my sweetheart, like, she’s my daughter. So, she does a great job. I love her with all my heart and she's just killing it over there. So, Daily Audio Bible Chronological.
And then there's all of the different foreign language…and when I say foreign, I just mean that to me, like native…my native tongue is English. But we also have Daily Audio Bible Española. So, our Spanish team in Texas and Nicaragua reading every day, building community in Spanish around the world. We also have Daily Audio Proverbios, the Daily Audio Proverbs in Spanish and Daily Audio Salmos. So, the Psalms in Spanish as well. We have Daily Audio Bible Kids. We have Daily Audio Bible Japanese, Arabic, French. In the French language we have the Daily Audio Bible pattern, but we also have Daily Audio Psalms and Proverbs in French as well. And then there's also Portuguese and Chinese. And, so, those are all available in the Daily Audio Bible player or the Daily Audio Bible app. I just want to highlight those resources because they are there…they are there to serve you. So, check that out.
If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible, you can do that dailyaudiobible.com as well. There is a link on the homepage, and I can't thank you enough for your partnership. So, there’s a link on the homepage. If you’re using the Daily Audio Bible app, you can press the Give button in the upper right-hand corner or the mailing address, if you prefer, is PO Box 1996 Spring Hill Tennessee 37174.
And, as always, if you have a prayer request or comment you can press the Hotline button, the little red button in the app or you can dial 877-942-4253.
And that's it for today. I'm Brian I love you and I'll be waiting for you here tomorrow.
Community Prayer and Praise:
Today is Christmas day. It’s…I’m speaking from Washington. This is Karen and I just wanted to respond to you Brian. I really appreciate what you said today. You identified it, the longing. The fact that you opened up and said that your creative and you have the melancholic temperament. I know that there’s many of us that relate to what you’re saying right here right now. I mean I have everything to be thankful for. I have family, they’re all healthy. They’re not with me but there near me and I’m going…you know…I have friends and I have clothes on my back and I have place…a roof over me and I have a job and I’m so grateful, but yet just like you said there’s still this deep longing of something that’s not right and you identified it and I so appreciate that. Thank you so much. You just…whenever things are identified I find that you just…it…it like releases it. It has it go away because you know what, you understand it. So, I thank you and I appreciate you and I say Merry Christmas to you. And to everyone listening, I am praying for all of you. You’re very special to me. May this day be such a connection with Jesus. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Good morning DAB family this is Finding Peace. I am middle-aged and I feel so lost and stuck. I only know to have faith and trust God, but I know He’s doing something but I’m just stuck in this place of where I feel like my whole life is a failure and although I’ve been able to help others and get them into a better place, somehow I always end up going backwards and this time I just can’t seem to get forwards and I just don’t know what to pray for anymore. I just know to have faith, but it seems like…it just…this hole is never-ending. I don’t really know what to pray for anymore. I just want to be able to get on my feet and not be a burden and I just know that there’s power in prayer and maybe God can open up something that could help. Have a good day.
[singing starts] Beautiful, yes you are. Beautiful, yes you are. Beautiful, yes you are. Yes, you are beautiful [singing stops]. Good morning everybody this is God’s Smile from England and its boxing day and I’ve just sat here catching up. And I went to the dentist last week. Oh…it’s never easy with me, I’ll tell you. I was in the chair and they numbed all my face and then she gets in there and I went, “ahhhh…I can feel pain.” Anyway, this happened a few times and ended up having 11 injections just to numb my face. Anyway, the pain still...I’ve got to __ without a tooth now. It’s gonna take a couple of weeks to heal because I’ve got a dry socket but enough about me. Hey, enough about me. Let’s put our eyes on Jesus. I was thinking as I was catching up about Christmas and gifts. And had you considered that you are a beautiful gift to Jesus, to your Father God this Christmas? That He looks upon you and He opens you up and He looks inside, and He smiles because He sees the blood of Jesus Christ that’s covered you and that beautiful aroma of forgiveness. And He sees you washed, and He sees you clean, and He sees you enjoying Him and loving Him, and He looks upon His gift and He smiles. Isn’t that lovely? Hey, you are a precious gift to God and I just want to say I love you all and I look forward to seeing you in the new year and I enjoy your company so much. Bye-bye.
Hi Daily Audio Bible this Rebecca from Michigan it’s December 24th it’s about 7:52 AM Eastern time in the morning but you know what you guys? This morning I was listening to the Christmas party. I haven’t finished listening to it yet, but I get up at four in the morning or whatever…five and I was doing my laundry because that’s the only time in my apartment building that I can get a hold of a washer and dryer. And, so, I went to go back to the dryer and I accidentally locked myself out of my apartment and my phones in the apartment and my keys are in the apartment and I’m in the laundry facilities and then I started praying and I asked God, “please bring someone to help me. I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to panic.” So, two people came, they called the maintenance emergency people for me. So, I started praying and I got all my laundry done doing that. So, I sat there and folded my clothes and started praying and the only prayer I could come up with is, “our father in heaven hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” And I remembered Jill and Brian talking about trust in the party, Christmas party and I was like, “okay God, do you want me the trust you.  I’m not a cry. I’m not going to panic. I’m gonna trust you with this, to wake up the maintenance guy emergency person and have my door unlocked.” And when he came…when he came and unlocked my door, he said 20 minutes later he would’ve been gone and wouldn’t have been able to help me. And I said, “I’ll go get my keys right now.” And I thanked him, and I said Merry Christmas to him. But I want you guys to realize the power of prayer is so awesome and just putting your trust in God…
Good morning Daily Audio Bible listeners. And Brian thank you so much for your Christmas message this morning. It’s December 25th, beautiful Christmas. And this is Denise, Louise mom, Louise is rescue-dog and his story of rescue and redemption is incredible. Lots of books and blogs based on. But I’m calling because of your message this morning. Brian it really touched my heart, just about that longing, oh that longing that we have. And I just…I know when you said it, when you spoke it and then your prayer…it just spoke to my heart. I have that longing as well. And I know in Ecclesiastes where it says, “that he set eternity in our hearts” that we do long for restoration. And it was such a perfect…just such a perfect message. So, my prayer and my prayer request is that people who are followers of Christ just continue to tap into that longing of our heart because He put it there so that we remain heaven bound and that we continue to look for Him and that we don’t see that restoration here on earth, we have a glimpse of it. And that gives me hope and joy of what we are going to see. So, thank you so much Brian and Jill thank you for your ministry and thank you for your hearts. Merry Christmas and Buon Natale.
Hey family this is Dave from Colorado. Hey, I know it’s been a long time since I’ve called. There’s been so many times that I wanted to call you to __ pray for various people but for some reason I end up just not calling. But that leads me to a confession I have. When I hear my voice on this podcast, honestly it makes me want to put a bag over my head and find a nice rock to hide her for a while, but you know I stopped thinking about that. This is the voice God gave me, so I guess, who am I to be ashamed of it. So, that’s going to be my New Year’s resolution to try to be a little a little closer to the group of DABbers. So anyway, moving on. Its Christmas day today. I hope you all are having a blessed day with your family and friends. I am actually at work. I just headed out in the truck. Got a nice snowy drive ahead of me going up to the Colorado Mountain, but you guys are all coming with me. So, I still have half of the Christmas party to listen to and maybe when I get __ you guys can help me put the tire chains on this truck. Yeah, probably not ha? Alright. But anyway, I just…right now my heart is just full of love for my DAB family. And I’m about to start my seventh year with Daily Audio Bible and I know I need to call in more. Anyway, we will talk to you next time family. Love you. Bye.

Girl can SING (Part 4 of ?)
A/N FULL DISCLOSURE: I am a virgin and a lesbian, so I know literally nothing about sex, especially not one with a penis involved. This is my first attempt at writing smut. BUT, I got a request from an Anon asking for virginity smut, and a request from @rindulacre to continue the story, so I combined them. Again, I have no idea what the fuck I’m talking about, but I hope it lives up to your expectations! Idk if you still want to be tagged, @multifandom-slytherin so I did anyways lol.
Tonight was the night: your first concert as an official member of Panic! at the Disco. It was a medium sized venue and just a casual gig, not on tour.
You’re nervous, but you feel confident. Maybe it’s because you were kind of baptized by fire when Brendon randomly pulled you onstage to sing last time. You feel like having that “first time” experience out of the way takes a load off.
Worst case scenario is you really fuck up a song. Would that be the end of the world? No. Everything was going to be okay. With Brendon by your side, you can conquer anything and performing is no exception.
“Are you nervous?” Brendon asked quietly backstage with a sweet smile.
“Little bit,” You nod honestly.
“I love you so much,” He said.
“I love you too,” You reply with a sweet smile.
The whole show ends up being more than you could ever dreamed it to be. It was so easy to perform with Brendon and the boys. Nothing had ever felt so natural in your life. The excitement from the crowd was contagious. They cheered and held handmade signs, some of them dedicated exclusively to you.
We love you Y/n! Welcome to the sinners Y/n! Beebo and Y/n/n forever!
You were really into it, dancing like crazy, especially during Miss Jackson. You and Brendon totally lose your minds during that song. Sometimes you would go to the edge of the stage and touch some of the audience’s hands and everyone was so excited, just to touch you. It was insane.
Occasionally Brendon would kiss you and the whole venue would just erupt into screams and cheers. Even when he would just walk towards you they would cheer. You pretended to pout when Brendon practically eats Dallon’s face during Sins. Brendon then pointed the mic to the audience like he always does for the rest of that verse and kissed you. Hard. Dear god.
You’re so happy that your first performance was a success and Brendon was so proud of you. When you get home, something comes over you. It’s one of those moods only Brendon could put you in.
You take Brendon by surprise when you knock him onto the bed and kiss him. He scoots up so you can both lay completely. He releases your lips and looks at you, pleasantly surprised.
”Well,” He laughed, “Hello there.”
”Hi,” You respond slyly, raising your eyebrows. You straddle his hips. He smiles at you and you dive back in. Your kisses are sloppy, open mouthed and hungry. Brendon is immediately turned on and breaks the kiss for a moment to rip his shirt off.
An onlooker would probably mistake you for a vampire, the way you are nibbling at his neck.
“Shit, Y/n,” Brendon says lowly as you hit that spot he likes, underneath his jaw. He thinks it’s so fucking hot when you take the lead, pushing aside his dominant personality.
You can feel his erection growing beneath you so you take your top off and release your bra. Brendon can’t keep his hands from grabbing your breasts, running his thumbs over your nipples. You close your eyes and sigh at the sensation.
Brendon releases his hands and begins to tug on your shorts. You lift yourself up so he can slide them down your legs, and you take the liberty of sliding his pants off as well. You press yourself back down on top of him, laying your bare chest against his. You roll your hips harsh and fast and you both moan, the friction between your underwear and his boxers just too good.
You soaked through your panties a long time ago, and now you’re leaving Brendon’s boxers all wet too. You roll your hips again and he can’t help but push back, desperate to prolong the feeling. In his excitement, he rolled you over hastily, your lips still attached in hot, practically pornographic kisses. He slipped his fingers underneath the sides of you panties and stroked your hips bones. He pulled his lips off of yours.
“God, Y/n,” He sighed breathlessly, “You are so fucking hot.”
You have a mischievous glint in your eyes and then buck your hips firmly into his. The fabric was so slick at that point you glide perfectly against his cock, earning exactly the response you wanted
“Fuck,” Brendon strained. Jesus Christ, he was worried he would cum right in his boxers if you kept that behavior up. He gripped your panties and tore them down your legs. He moves further down your body, allowing his hands access to you dripping core. He begins to rub your clit and heat rains down your body.
“F-fuck Brendon,” the words pour from your mouth and you move your hips aimlessly, immersed in the sensation.
Usually this is how things would go: he would finger/lick you till you finished and then you would return the favor, or visa versa. You hadn’t had sex with him yet.
You had told him you weren’t ready yet, and he never even flinched, telling you that he would do as much or as little as you wanted. He’s probably quite experienced, so it’s kind of adorable that he’s willing to put all of that on hold to make you feel comfortable. You’ve done everything in between with each other and it has never been anything but amazing.
What you didn’t tell him was that you had never had sex before--at all. But you undoubtedly knew: you want to lose your virginity to Brendon. Now.
Brendon goes to slip his fingers inside you and your hand flies down to grab his wrist, stopping him. It took all of your willpower.
“Stop,” you say, barely getting the word out. All you want him to do is keep going, but you had bigger plans.
He immediately withdrew his hands and sat up, giving you plenty of space.
“Baby?” He asked quickly, completely mortified, searching your eyes with concern. He wondered, did you not want this? Did he make you do something you didn’t want to do?
You slip your hand under the pillow next to you and pulled out the prop you had planted earlier, knowing you would probably execute your plan tonight. You held it out to him.
A condom.
He raised his eyebrows. This is not what he was expecting. He looked at you like you were crazy or something.
“Are you sure?” He asked you.
“Yes,” you replied, beginning to smile, waving the condom a bit.
“We don’t have to, Y/n,” He started, “You--”
You literally threw the condom at him and cut him off.
“Brendon Urie,” You say darkly, “I swear to god, if you do not fuck me right now...”
“Okay,” He squeaked, rushing to throw off his boxers. You, of all people, have the ability to turn Brendon Urie into a sexual mess. You love it. You giggled a bit at his desperation, looking at him. He looked down and saw the look on your face, and he felt almost a little embarrassed.
“You are evil,” he growled, leaning down to kiss you. He sat back up and opened the condom, rolling it onto himself. He can’t help but shiver a bit at the sensation with you looking at him like that. He positioned himself at you entrance, a bit lost in his enthusiasm. Suddenly he looks up, breaking from his frenzy momentarily.
“Are you sure?” He asks you, one last time, looking down at you with those big puppy eyes.
“Brendon,” You return his eye contact confidently, “I am so. fucking. sure.”
You smile at him with that mischievous look entering you eye, knowing one word would push him over the edge: “Please,” You whisper longingly.
And that’s all he needs. He slides into you, every inch, until his hips are flush against yours. It burns. Some girls can’t really get off without some clit or oral, and you suddenly think maybe you are one of them. You bite the inside of your cheek and press your eyes shut.
“Are you okay?” You hear a concerned voice above you. You don’t open your eyes.
“Yes, yes, please keep going,” you tell him, trying to play it off as pleasure and not pain. He obeys and begins to slide back and push forward again, so slowly. One more of those slow thrusts and you finally feel comfortable.
“Oh god,” Brendon sighs in pleasure, “You are so fucking tight.”
Yeah, cause you’re a fucking virgin and decided not tell him, you idiot.
“Please,” you murmured in exasperation, wanting to feel him move inside you.
He begins thrusting again, a bit faster. Your prayers were answered as the pain turned to hot pleasure. He picked up the pace, gripping onto your hips as he placed his head in the crook of your neck, licking you right where you like it.
“Oh-h,” Your breath hitched and you tangled a hand in his hair, “Brendon, yes,” you encourage him quietly.
With every thrust he goes all in, the base of him hitting your clit in just the right way. You tug on his hair just enough.
“Fuck,” Brendon breathed at the combination of sensations. He pumped a little faster. Heat pooled in the bottom of your stomach.
“Oh sh-shit,” you inhaled sharply, meeting his movements with your own hips, wanting him even deeper inside you. You claw at his back.
“You feel so fucking good,” Brendon growled, “So fucking good on my cock.” Just the dirty talk alone made you want explode.
“Please, god, fuck me,” slipped out of your mouth involuntarily.
“Yeah?” Brendon asked in that filthy tone you loved, “Is that what you want? Tell me what you want.”
He started to slow down, just to tease you. Your hand flew down to grab his hip, urging him to keep moving.
“Fuck me,” you replied loudly, “Fuck me harder.” You didn’t even know this side of yourself existed. Dear god, you are happy you’ve discovered it.
Brendon began to slam into you hard and fast, your skin slapping together with each thrust. You wrap your legs around hips, unable to keep yourself from the sensation. He starts hitting something inside you in just the right way and you can’t help but cry out.
“YES, fuck, right there.”
Brendon’s begins to moan, so turned on by the way you writhe underneath him like that.
“F-fuck,” Brendon stutters.
Your legs tense up around him.
“I’m so close,” you wince, trying to hold it together.
“Then cum for me, baby,” Brendon replied simply through gritted teeth.
And just like that, you unravel. Flashes of heat erupt from deep within your stomach and you lose control of the words coming from your mouth, your speech dissolving into a string of obscenities laced with Brendon’s name.
Brendon cums hard just from the sound of you and the way your pussy tightened around him. He slows down, jamming deep inside you as you uncoordinatedly grind your hips up to his, savoring every moment of your orgasm.
He pulls out and collapses next to you, showering you with kisses and praise. You are a shaky mess, basking in the glow radiating from your core.
Wow, you are most definitely not one of those girl who needs oral/clit to cum. Good to know.
You both catch your breath.
“Goddamn, Y/n” Brendon exclaims. “That was...”
“Amazing,” you sighed, finished for him. You both laughed. It was probably the most cliche thing in the universe.
He looked at you, the laughter in his eyes falling to seriousness.
“It was okay, though?” He asked again, needing feedback on your comfort level and his performance.
“Brendon Urie.” You state. “It was fantastic.”
“I love you, Y/n,” He said honestly.
“I love you too Bren,” you reply with a smile. You both look up at the ceiling, still entangled in Brendon’s arms. You feel a little guilty. “Hey Bren?”
“Yeah?”
“Thank you for being my first.” You said. His head whipped to the side to look at you. You slowly rolled over to look at him. He saw it in your eyes.
“You mean your very first?” He asks in shock.
You nod.
“Oh my god, Y/n!” He exclaimed with a worried look, “Are you okay? Did I hurt you?“
“No Bren,” you laugh lightly, “And I’m more than okay.”
“Why didn’t you say anything?” He asked sweetly, “I would have been more gentle.”
“What if,” you started slowly, “What if I didn’t want you to be gentle?” You raised an eyebrow and bit your lip.
Brendon’s mouth dropped open.
“Goddamn,” He said kind of impressed. “You are too much,” Brendon glared at you with that low tone taking over his voice again, chuckling.
You kiss the smirk off his face and cuddle up some more in his arms. You relax and smile to yourself.
You lost your virginity. To Brendon fucking Urie. Fuck yeah.
A/N: Thanks for reading, hope it came out okay. Like/reblog if you’re feelin’ it! I do have plans for another chapter that would have, you guessed it, more smut, based on an anon’s separate request. If you have other ideas, please let me know!

The Book of Matthew
20-03-06
Today is Friday and it’s a quiet day in the office. With about an hour left, I decided to explore a new devotion on the Bible app. It’s a Lent devotional and should take the entire Lenten season to read. I guess that’s how you say it—Lenten season? Anyway, the second page of scripture I read discussed Jesus and the disciples experience with the fig tree. He said if you have faith, you will receive whatever you ask for. That is something I needed today. Really, something I need everyday.
I don’t recall mentioning my current health scare but it’s kept me a nervous wreck since January or so. I dealt with food allergies and sinusitis in December. At the same time I dealt with high blood pressure. This all continued into January and February. I then found out I was dealing with diabetes, enlarged thyroid, high cholesterol, etc. It’s now March. Since December I’ve lost nearly 50lbs. I lowered my A1C so I’m no longer in diabetic range but prediabetic. I don’t know about the cholesterol yet. I’m taking my blood pressure medicine daily. I’m eating healthier and working out more. When I log it like this it seems I’m improving right? I still can’t shake this sinusitis. And my thyroid situation has me terrified. I’m utterly terrified. As in there have been daily panics and lots of tears. I guess because it’s happening to me, it seems bigger. But I know God is bigger and I have faith that He will take care of me. I have faith that God has this handled and I just have to take the journey—it’s just hard and scary! I have fears that I have a nodule or tumor, that something is cancerous, that it is something horrible. It feels difficult to swallow or like there’s something in my throat—but maybe I’m just still sick. I don’t know. But the not knowing—it’s scary! The ENT/Allergist I was referred to for food allergies randomly found my thyroid was enlarged during my exam. He requested my December labs where my thyroid was only half a point elevated and my T3 and T4 was normal. I looked in my records and in 2017, my thyroid TSH was normal. So maybe it could be something as simple as sub clinical hypothyroidism where I simply need a pill. If it is—I will take it. I will deal with it and do whatever is needed. I can live with that. I read where burning tongue was a symptom of hypothyroidism. My primary doctor said he wasn’t concerned with my thyroid numbers in December and that we would reassess in April. So, for me to go to an allergist for food allergies then be scheduled for a thyroid ultrasound and have to wait for weeks—yeah it’s scary. I go on 3/11 at 1PM. He will tell me what was on my ultrasound. I’m terrified and I kind of don’t want to be alone but that’s life, right?
It’s been freaking me out. I’ve been throwing myself into work—I’ve now begun just sleeping to escape. Last night I came home at 5:15 and slept til 1 AM, got up for 15 or so minutes and slept some more. It’s just been hard for me. I’ve been (and am) struggling. The amount of times I pray....and beg and plead...and pray some more is insane. I was at the point yesterday, there were tears. I am one to ask God for signs if things are going to be okay. As I got home yesterday and dried my tears, I started to say that. Then I turned on the talk show for Kelly Clarkson. I DVR them and just randomly watch when bored or she has people I like on. It was an old episode from earlier in the week. As I laid down to get comfy and try to soothe myself and deal with the crying situation, she began singing. It was Elvis—I Cant Help Falling In Love With You. Do you want to know the crazy part? I literally just bought that song on ITunes a few days ago and had been singing it the past 2 days in my car. My mom loved Elvis. I wondered if that was my sign and talked myself into believing it was—and that I’m going to be okay. I slept all day and night.
Right now it feels like I have something in my throat and when I try to take deep breaths I can’t. I can breathe normally, but it just feels like something is sitting on my chest and in my throat. Perhaps it is stuck mucus? I tell myself that and that I’m still sick so I don’t spin out of control and panic. I pray and have people praying for me. Perhaps I have chest congestion or those antibiotics are clearing out my system. I honestly don’t know. But I keep praying. I keep busy. I try to keep myself grounded in what is and what I know to be facts. Not the crazy scenarios that pop in my mind. I’m trying to find my way back to good health and I am trying to not take it for granted. Even when I journal in my pink gratitude journal I still give thanks for the health I do have while praying for healing.
Life has been slightly paused these past few months—it looks like my house hasn’t been cleaned in months. It hasn’t been deep cleaned. I have no energy. I’m rarely there. And when I am, I’m trying to take care of myself. I’ve read online that an enlarged thyroid can cause difficulty swallowing or breathing. And I believe that’s what this is from—I’m curious if something is pressing on my wind pipe. The bottom of my neck is puffy—maybe it’s excess skin from weight loss? I honestly don’t know. But I know...I KNOW...God has this. I know He will see me through and take the journey with me. It just requires strength, courage, patience, and letting go of fear. I don’t know if I can be strong enough.
Is this a test of faith? When you decide to pick up the cross and follow Jesus are you tested from time to time? Am I failing? I keep praying for healing from head to toe. I have a couple of other folks praying for me, too. I do still feel like Job. I thought I had grasped him and all he was about, but I’m thinking I need to revisit him. Perhaps a year long study or Job will enlighten me and teach me so much more. Dealing with this is physical, emotionally, and mentally scary and draining.
Hopefully I will update later in the week but in the meantime, keep the prayers for me coming...for health and healing and peace and comfort. And everything else. I certainly need them.
I know God will show up for me and help me—so I’m keeping the faith. But your prayers are much needed and appreciated too! <3

(739)ACTS 12- Herod kills James [not the brother of Jesus who is one of the lead Apostles at Jerusalem] and puts Peter in jail. The church has a prayer meeting for Peter and an angel goes into the cell and wakes Peter up. He leads him outside the city and frees him. Peter thinks it’s a vision and realizes it really is happening! Note how real their visions and dreams must have been, Peter at times can not determine fact from vision! He shows up at the prayer meeting and a girl named Rhoda hears a knock at the door. She asks ‘who is it’? He says ‘It’s me, Peter!’ She can’t believe it and leaves him standing at the door! She tells the prayer group ‘it’s Peter’ they tell her ‘no way, maybe his angel?’ Funny, you can believe his angel showed up, but no way could the Lord deliver him from jail. At the end of this chapter we see the return of Paul and Barnabas after they brought the relief money to the saints at Jerusalem. It calls it ‘their ministry’. This early church did not see ‘the ministry’ as the actual business and the need to raise funds for the ‘church’. Now, it’s fine to pool your money for good cause’s with other believers. When I teach we are not ‘under the tithe’ this does not mean we shouldn’t support good ministries with 10 percent or more of our money. The point is, here we see Peter going back out to the field, Paul and Barnabas returning back from ‘the field’. Spontaneous prayer meetings. No set time or way to give offerings, just a true freedom of giving themselves away for the cause of Christ. Leadership does exist, but the normal function and flow of this church is not centered around ‘the Sunday Sabbath’ [EEK!] There is a real sense of this community of believers being led by the Spirit. It would be wrong to say ‘hey, Phillip went out on his own! He is not under the local church covering’! Or ‘now that we are back from Jerusalem, lets ask Pastor so and so [the supposed Pastor of the ‘church at Antioch’] what’s next’. There were no ‘Pastors’ in the sense of the fulltime Christian minister who oversees the ordinances on Sunday. Now, these developments will arise as the centuries progress. Many good Pastors and Priests will function this way for centuries. They will see the church ‘building’ as ‘the church’. Our Catholic brothers will begin to see ‘the altar’ as the actual place ‘in the church’ that Jesus Body is ‘re offered’ [presented] as a ‘bloodless sacrifice’ for the salvation of the world. All developments that are not seen in Acts. The point is, we limit the flow of Gods Spirit thru his people when we regress from ‘the true has now come’ [the whole reality of Jesus and the church being the real image of things. The law and it’s shadows were only an incomplete picture]. When we as believers go back to ‘the shadows’ thinking that form and ‘pictures of things’ [symbols] are the way we will touch the world, then we lose the reality of us being the actual people of God showing the world Christ thru our unselfish lives. Jesus said when the people of God love each other and lay their own desires and goals down for his Kingdom, then the world will see our actions and believe. Jesus did leave us memorials ‘do this in remembrance of me’ ‘as often as you do this you SHOW the Lords death till he come’. I do realize that the church does have an element of ‘presenting thru picture [art] the Lords death and resurrection’ [passion plays and so forth] but when we lose the real fellowship mentality of this first century church, we then lose the greatest picture of all. Being the actual functioning Body of Christ on earth. John writes ‘how can you say you love God, who you don’t see. When you can’t love your brother, who you do see?’ [1st John] the New Testament clearly shows us that the love we have in word and deed is the greatest ‘sacramental’ picture we can declare to the world. Our Catholic friends have a song ‘they will know we are Christians by our love, by our love. Yes they’ll know we are Christians by our love’. I agree.
[parts] ALEXANDRIA- EGYPT. Last night I was watching the news coverage of the demonstators in the streets of Egypt- they were protesting the government’s response [or lack] to the bombing of the church in Alexandria, the second largest city in Egypt [around 4 million people live in the city]. As I watched the sad story- in my mind I recalled all the times I have run across Alexandria in my studies of history. The city was founded by Alexander the great in the 4th century b.c.e. It had the largest library of the ancient world and was Egypt’s capitol for around 900 years. When the Muslims took over in the 7th century Cairo became the new capitol [under another name at the time]. Alexandria was one of the great centers of Christian learning during the first few centuries of the 1st millennium of Christianity. I remember reading about the great church father Origen- he lived in the 3rd century and eventually would head up the school out of Alexandria- one of the first Christian schools of the day. The famous philosopher Plotinus also had a lot of influence in the city. It was sad to see the destruction on the news- so many years later. This morning I read Revelation chapter 13. The apostle John writes about the persecution of ‘the beast’ against the Christians- the apostle says he makes war against Gods people and overcomes them. We often neglect to see this aspect of scripture- I mean how many songs have you heard that say ‘the beast overcame us and killed us’. We like to sing stuff like ‘we overcome by the Blood of the Lamb’ [another verse from Revelation]. Yet the apostle foresees a time of persecution of the church that will include the deaths of many believers. Those who think the book of Revelation was written early [before a.d. 70] see Nero as the one who bares the mark of the beast- yes the popular 666 is in this chapter. Others who date the book later [around a.d. 90] see the emperor Domitian as the beast- either way John was speaking about a future ruler who would severely persecute the saints [and of course the most popular view today among evangelicals is the anti Christ is yet to come]. In verse 10 of the chapter John says those who kill with the sword, must die the same way- this is the patience of the saints. John is communicating to the 7 churches that he is writing to that they should not retaliate against their oppressors- they should patiently endure- knowing that the persecutors will eventually ‘hang themselves’ with their own rope. Of course the great empire of Rome would finally fall- and for those who see Nero as the 666 guy [my view] he eventually dies a shameful death as well [he killed himself].
As I watch the various responses from Muslims and Christians [and Jews] to these types of events- we all have a tendency to view things most favorably to our own particular viewpoint. While some Muslims are of course outraged over the church bombing- yet the Christian community is more enraged. When the recent peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians broke down- many Christians in the west couldn’t care less- many of them view the entire conflict thru the lens of end time dispensationalism [an end time view that sees Gods plan being played out by the displacement of Palestinians from the land]. I grew up in New Jersey [yes- the state of the great governor Christie!]. As a good old Italian boy- I had lots of ethnic friends- Germans, Dutch, Spanish- etc. Many of these families were immigrants to the U.S. whose families had a history of living in the country for a hundred years or more [some less]. Now- if I were to come to your neighborhood, and tell you ‘look, the governments of the world made a deal [league of nations- later called the U.N.] and you have to leave this area and another group is going to move in’ how what this make you feel? Put aside your view of the bible and how you see ‘Gods plan’ being carried out- I mean just as a human being- how would you feel? You would feel terrible- you would think ‘geez- my father and his father settled here a hundred years ago- I’m not an alien!’ Yet the Palestinians were living in their land for 2 thousand years! Okay- just see the other point of view. Some of the Palestinians are Christians [small %- 2-5]. How do you think they feel when they have been praying for justice- many lost their homes and family estates during the displacement- and then they see the parade of American Christians trod thru the land like their on some Holy Land adventure- taking the kids to Disney world type thing- and yet in the real world lives are being lost on both sides of the conflict.
Most American Christians who hold to these end time scenarios that play into the geopolitical situation on the ground- they don’t realize that many Jews- and even many in the Israeli govt. do not completely embrace their enthusiasm for Israel. The Israeli leaders also know that most of these scenarios see a bloody conflict that will take place in the Holy Land [does Armageddon ring a bell?] and that many Jews will be slain- only a small remnant will escape [does the number 144,000 ring another one?]. The Israeli security forces in the city of Jerusalem actually have a specific profile for a group/persons that they see as dangerous to the city. Do you know who these ‘dangerous persons’ are? They are the tourists that enter the city every so often- and they have this wild look in their eyes- they are there to await the return of Jesus and they believe that they will be a part of the end time army that will spill much blood and defeat the forces of the enemy- yes- these types are deemed dangerous to the Israeli’s.
Lets pray for the peace of all people- let’s do our best to reject all forms of violence as being totally unacceptable- whether it be the bombing of a church in Egypt- the destruction of the Buddha statues by the Taliban in Afghanistan [they destroyed these ancient pieces of art when they rose to power in the early years]. Even the bombing of abortion clinics- or the shooting of doctors- we need to see what the apostle John saw- those who take up the sword must in this manner be killed. I think too many of us have signed our own death warrant.
[parts] (360)I was up praying early. I was actually saying to myself ‘you can go so low in the pit to retrieve treasures, that it becomes dangerous’. I had a sense of a Hollywood schema that would have the ‘hero’ saying ‘I will go and risk my life to save the damsel [or some other corny thing]’ and the others standing by and pleading with him not to take the risk. Sort of like Peter telling Jesus ‘don’t go to the Cross’. As I was actually ‘muttering’ the words about ‘a very low pit’ I heard on the radio the days verse ‘he reached down and took me out of the most horrible pit’ it was a contemporary version from Psalms. Lets share some treasures that were just mined from a low place. On this blog I discuss a lot of controversial things. One is the end times. I don’t hold to a lot of the popular end time scenarios. For instance I recently showed you why Christ’s return will not vindicate natural Israel. The answer was Jesus could not ‘vindicate’ any system outside of the true gospel. So the ‘key’ to seeing this is actually the Cross! You will find this to be the key to everything. All truths must ‘filter’ thru the Cross. You will not rightly divide scripture until you master this. One of the controversial ideas I have espoused is Nero being the ‘beast’ of Revelation. Many evangelicals disagree. Lets open a door using the ‘key’. One of the New Testament books that Paul wrote speaks of Jesus ‘destroying the antichrist’ at his coming. With a total destruction. Some who believe Nero was the beast say this ‘coming of Jesus to destroy’ was a ‘coming’ in judgment in AD 70. They ‘spiritualize’ the 2nd coming to make it fit. The modern evangelical who holds to the Tim Lahaye stuff sees this as an excuse to prove a point. They say ‘see, if Jesus totally destroys antichrist at the 2nd coming, then obviously Nero wasn’t him!’ I do want to note that early historians will tell you that one of the ‘nick names’ for Nero was ‘the beast’. Here’s a ‘key’. In Revelation you see many things happening at different times. You also see many spiritual truths that are concurrent [remember what I showed you the other day]. There are images that show the beast and the antichrist being bound for a period of time. I also showed you on this blog that Hebrews says ‘Jesus destroyed him that had the power of death thru dieing himself’. This ‘key’ of Christ’s death teaches us that the devil is already destroyed by the Cross. It’s not ‘really’ a future event. The 2nd coming is a ‘culmination’ and ‘crowning’ of the Cross’s work. So the image in Revelation of the antichrist being ‘bound’ might very well be speaking of what happened at the Cross. In all the generations of man, since the Cross there has been more light and freedom than at any other time. The enemy, as well as the antichrist, can very well be described as ‘bound’. Now you also have images in Revelation that show this ‘binding’ as being a ‘waiting stage’ for ultimate destruction. The ‘contents’ of death and hell are finally ‘poured’ into the lake of fire. Peter in the New Testament gives images of rebellious angels being ‘held in chains’ until the final ‘destruction’. So with all this in mind, here’s a key. Nero is being ‘held’ right now, with Hitler and every other wicked despot that has ever lived. They are waiting for the 2nd coming. At the real 2nd coming [not AD 70!] he will really be ‘destroyed with total destruction by the presence of the Lord’. This my friends is the key, Jesus and his Cross.
VERSES- Acts 12:1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church. Acts 12:2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. Acts 12:3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) Acts 12:4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. Acts 12:5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. Acts 12:6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. Acts 12:7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. Acts 12:8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. Acts 12:9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision. Acts 12:10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him. Acts 12:11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the LORD hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews. Acts 12:12 And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying. Acts 12:13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda. Acts 12:14 And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate. Acts 12:15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel. Acts 12:16 But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished. Acts 12:17 But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place. Hello October!
Since I was very young I’ve always journaled.  It’s been my way of decompressing and de-cluttering my mind.  Of pouring out my thoughts as prayers onto paper (or a Word document) and, in a sense, leaving them at the feet of Jesus.  This past year, documenting my life publicly, on a timeline and measuring my year with appointments and medical events has given me a new perspective on, well lots of things, but specifically time.  And how it simultaneously goes so quickly and so slowly. I really can’t believe that October starts today.  I mean, this is the month that I finish up my final dose of cancer treatment.  I can’t believe that my big surgery was almost 4 months ago.  I remember so clearly the days in January when I wondered how we would ever make it to October.  And what would be left of me, physically. And how my family and my marriage would survive all that was ahead of us.  And here we are.  And I can’t even describe the ways in which we have been blessed throughout this year or the countless areas in which I believe that God has spared me from could-have-beens or worst case scenarios.  My body, at this point, is stronger that I thought it would be.  My marriage and my family have more than just survived all that we’ve endured so far.
Today is not only October First, but also my 7th of 8 chemo infusions.  A month (or two treatments) ago my oncologist began to become concerned with some of the side effects of my treatment, particularly the neuropathy I’ve experienced in my hands and feet because it can be permanent.  So with that in mind, he decided to withhold one of the drugs that I’ve been getting in the chemo cocktail that I receive twice a month. After that next treatment I could tell a big difference in all of the side effects that I’d been having.  I haven’t thrown up since! And the severity of the neuropathy has significantly reduced.  So I am really thankful to be feeling actually a little better than I had been as we near the end.  I’m thankful that my infusions have been on Monday’s so that I’ve had the week days to feel lousy and begin to feel better by the weekends.  And that they’ve been spaced out to occur every two weeks, allowing my body a week to recover in between each treatment week.
A few people have commented that I’ve been so strong throughout this whole journey, and I assure you – it’s not my strength.  It’s this: “There can be unwavering peace today, when an uncertain tomorrow is trusted to an unchanging God” (Ann Voskamp).  The Bible promises us that Jesus does not change, that He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Heb. 13:8)  He was good yesterday, He is good today and he will be good tomorrow.  No matter what it brings.
Maybe one reason why I like to journal is because I have a terrible memory.  If I don’t write things down I won’t remember them.  So today I took a look back at some of the things I’ve written about over the last few years.  Years that have held highs and lows and in betweens, and included hallways we’ve walked through and doors that God opened and ones He closed for us.  But over and over and over again what I saw in just a few paragraphs of years gone by was God’s faithfulness in my life.  I read about it year after year.  Years that brought us to 2018 and a cancer diagnosis and a young family and God’s faithfulness playing like elevator music on repeat.  It never gets changed, doesn’t go away, and sometimes we forget it’s still playing. But being able to look back over years and years portrayed in words on paper (or a screen) and see proof that God’s faithfulness really doesn’t change even though our circumstances do makes my heart explode with confidence and comfort.  Reading back over some of my journaling from earlier this year, of the days that held so much uncertainty for us, says without question: Jesus does not change.  His faithfulness will not fail.  He held us fast then and He does now and He will after my next surgery and my next scan.
I know I’ve shared this song before, but it’s one of my favorites that we sing at my church.  It’s called All Must Be Well, there are three verses and they go like this: Through the love of God our Savior, All will be well Free and changeless is His favor, All is well Precious is the blood that healed us Perfect is the grace that sealed us Strong the hand stretched forth to shield us All must be well
Though we pass through tribulation, All will be well Ours is such a full salvation, All is well Happy still in God confiding Fruitful if in Christ abiding Steadfast through the Spirit's guiding All must be well
We expect a bright tomorrow; All will be well Faith can sing through days of sorrow, All is well On our Father's love relying Jesus every need supplying Yes in living or in dying All must be well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y50EDNEJvTA
I love the repetition and the confidence in saying because of who Christ is and what He has done for us “All will be well… All is well… All must be well.”
Happy October!!

The Cure For Complaining
A couple of weeks back, our senior pastor gave a message exhorting us all to live with a little less complaining. Or a lot less (he included himself as the target audience). Our church started a reading plan in September to get through the entire Bible in 9 months. And in tandem with this plan has been the pastors preaching from current reading. That has brought us to Numbers.
If you're familiar at all with the desert years for Israel, you’ll know complaining is a common theme.
One passage has stuck with me through the years. Phil 2:14–16(a)
Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life
That first sentence hit me hard, especially during a period when I worked for a particularly inept supervisor back in my corporate life. I would dispute regularly. Worse, I would grumble constantly (many translations use complain here instead of grumble, but both words convey the same idea) and often when this person was not around. It was an area of sin for me, one brought on by my own pride.
And while I was in that situation, I felt convicted that my behaviour was wrong. However, I was not able to get past it; I was unsure how to change how my heart felt. And we all know that what the heart feels, the tongue eventually makes it known.
It was only recently that I’ve come across what I believe is the solution for complaining. The long-term, life-long solution for not grumbling.
A Life of Gratitude
Over the past 2 years, I’ve had the blessing of teaching at length from both Philippians and Colossians. As usual, I always feel that I get far more from teaching a class than anyone attending. When you're taking the time to prepare lessons, you tend to be more saturated with a few specific pieces of Scripture. My time in these two books was an immense pleasure and a source of peace for me.
And while my lessons were often focused on the larger whole, one aspect began to jump out at me. Paul is constantly preaching a life of gratitude. This is true for Philippians and Colossians, but also for his other epistles. The more I looked, the more I found a regular, rhythmic focus on being grateful.
In his epistles, the word thanks or some derivative (thankful, thankfulness, thanksgiving etc) is used almost 50 times. Here are a couple that have caught my attention.
Col 2:6–7
Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
Col 3:16–17
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Phil 4:4–7
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Eph 5:3–4
But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.
You read these over and over through the years and it can be easy to gloss over it. But when I started noting how important being thankful was to Paul, I was amazed at the consistency of his
A cup half full
I’ll be very honest with you: I’m a negative person. A cup half empty kind of guy. I’ll notice what I don’t like far before I find the good in things. Just ask my children!
As Christians, there is a bit of baseline thankfulness that has to exist. In order to believe that you must be saved, you have to face your sins, your flaws, and recognize God’s right to judge you. From there, you feel your need for a saviour. And when you make that choice to accept Christ in such a way, gratitude is the natural reaction.
But being thankful about that does not automatically result in a grateful approach to all areas of life. That’s why I love Paul’s emphasis on the topic.
In some cases, thankfulness is the end, the result of our circumstances. But in other cases, he’s exhorting us to choose to be grateful. The thankfulness is the means rather than the end. Phil 4 is a great example of this. Let me paraphrase this passage:
The Lord is near
Therefore, do not worry about anything
Instead, ask God about everything you need
And do so with thankfulness
If you do that, you will experience God’s peace, which transcends all things and will guard you from future worries
The end is experiencing God’s peace. But the means is having a grateful attitude.
Living it out
What that has meant to me is to pull back in situations where I would normally complain (if I can catch myself), then consider what I can be thankful about in that moment. There’s always something there if I look for it.
When my particularly disagreeable son is pushing all my buttons, I try to stop and appreciate how he’s improving his skills in debate. When the sun is down at 5pm and I think how we have 4–5 more months of cold weather ahead, I try to be thankful for a warm home and peacefulness of a fresh dump of snow. And when the
Sadly, I don’t have this all together. In a lot of scenarios above, old habits kick in and I miss the chance to make something better of it. But I’m learning.

2016
I recently started The Flash series and I'm currently on episode 8 hOLY FREAKING SHIT THIS IS MY THING. I've finished The Great Gatsby last week and until now, my soul is still drawn. It stings in the brain, you know. It lingers. I'm reading the novel and I'm on chapter 5. Heck yes, I'm so productive. So, I'm continuing the last time I've been blogging about. Simbang gabi came and all that looking/glancing stuffs. I went to our little Christmas party with my high school friends, that was night of the 21st of December and we returned home 22nd in the morning. I was a bit upset the whole night I was with them. I don't know. I just don't feel being with them anymore. Or the introvert side of me just triggered within me. I don't prefer being in a big circle of friends to be honest. I'm okay with just two. But it seems like nobody wanted me. I missed the novena mass on the 7th day. I really wish I didn't come to that party. I wasn't feeling really well and I lacked of sleep but still I managed to attend the anticipated mass at our parish. I was glad I did, because I was going to cast out all my worries. I felt pathetic that day but somehow, relieved because I felt Jesus' presence. He's like embracing me and whispering "I'll be your bestfriend," I teared up as I prayed to Him. I usually tear up whenever I find myself pitiful and hopeless. In addition to me 'tearing up', the choir adds up to that emotional feeling. Particularly the ME (Marriage Encounter) choir. Hands down to them! They always send chills down my spine. It feels like there are angels singing. I felt grateful that day. Fr. Micaydor, a really good priest, officiated the mass. He was really passionate and sincere, you definitely can see it as he speaks and delivers his homily. I remember he told the choir to sing this certain gospel song because it's his favorite. "Ang puso ko'y nagpupuri, nagpupuri sa Panginoon nagagalak ang aking espiritu, sa'king Tagapagligtas..." It was beautiful. While it was the receiving of the body of Christ, the choir sang 'Awit ng Paghahangad' my favorite of all the gospel songs. I knew I was going to sob because I just feel it. It embodies me. All I ever wanted is to strengthen my faith, and I always ask Him to provide the strength that I need. That song never fails to struck me. Whenever I feel sad, I listen to it and all of a sudden, I become relieved somehow. I wanted to pick my favorite lyric from the song but it's too hard to pick since the accuracy all in all is really me. That night, of course, I included Mike in my prayers. I may be a fool but I asked for a sign. I told Him in my prayer, "Why do I feel like I should know him? If it really is Your will then let it be done unto me," I wasn't a big believer of signs but that night I didn't know what to feel. As I walked my way home, this intersection between the main road of the village and the street (right) brought my fate with Mike. Okay, there were his fellow sacristans (there were a lot) even my former elementary classmate, Robes, was there too. I didn't dare look at each and everyone's faces but all I knew is, there were Robes and Arvin Mana-Ay. I wasn't expecting anything in particular, and I thought "Oh, I guess they're going to some houses to do the caroling," something like that. As I passed the entrance to Dela Costa from Amparo, I felt a sudden shock. There was Mike at the very gate. He was wearing a polo shirt and slacks I guess with his bagpack. Seems like he was directing his fellow servers to this certain house. He said something like "May tao na," It was very dark and the only light on that spot was this one post. It was red orange. I knew he was shocked too (lmao shookt) because I sensed and saw right in my very eye that he lingered his eyes on me as I walked pass by him. I still wonder what he thought that night. Did he find me when I missed the novena mass? Did he feel sad when he found out that I wasn't there, just like what I feel whenever he's not around? Or am I just being assuming all over again? :-(( One thing was for sure. That night, Lord gave me my first sign. As Simbang gabi continued and for the 2nd (not sure) time he wasn't there, my curiosity grew even more. The first time he missed serving, Angela told me that he was at the back of the chapel, he wasn't wearing his usual get up, she said he wore casual. I wondered what it could be and what was the reason why he didn't serve. Was he late to get up or??? The last day of simbang gabi was quite a blur because c'mon he wasn't there :-(((((((( Simbang gabi 2015 is still the best I should say. 24th night of December, I said to myself that I should li-low, relax and less expect things. Of course my mind was racing terribly because last year, the same night was the best night of my 2015. Mike's mom and brother sat behind us the entire mass and guess what!!! We're on the first row HAHAHAHA I remember clearly Mike was a bit nervous, I didn't know if it's about the amount of people attended or me sitting behind my in-laws (lmaoooo what 😂) It all happened in 2015, yes. But this 2016, the expectation of the same scenario went from 100-0 because his family wasn't there. I was quite nervous and sad because before the mass started, Mike wasn't there still. All of his fellow servers were there, readying and any minute the mass would start. I asked for another sign and poof! He was there, glowing with his new haircut. Oh, he looked handsome :-(((( My thoughts and heart both found themselves dropped on the floor. I felt butterflies and I was suddenly happy all over again. An amount of adrenaline rush came over me but then I managed to remain calm. Just when the mass began, (big help he didn't hold the thurible bc he got to sit just 8 ft away from us hahahaha) we sat in front like literally on the first row at right. I wanted to have a good view hahaha. I was a bit uneasy that night because John Marco was there. He was in front, beside Fr. Dick. He could easily see me stealing glances at Mike! HAHAHAHA. As we sang 'Papuri sa Diyos' I noticed Mike squinting in our direction, seemed like he was looking for someone. Well not looking, but checking. Then, there you go. Our eyes met. It's hard to steal glances. Damn it. I felt happy because he knew I was there hahahaha. As Fr. Dick read the gospel, I caught him looking at me. Then all of fucken sudden, he FREAKING SMILED. Well he didn't smile at me, instead, he looked away when we caught each other's eyes and he flipping smiled to himself. WHAT THE HECK IS THE MEANING OF THAT. My eyes weren't lying. There was something about his smile. A smile that sticks to your head. A genuine smile you couldn't get enough of. What does it mean? As John Marco joined him at their seat, Mike whispered something in his ears, he laughed I guess as he did so and John Marco instantly looked at us. As the mass continued, I noticed him staring at this girl who was wearing a red blouse and jeans, sitting at the right corner of the chapel. The hell. I shouldn't felt that way but I felt jealous. Okay so here goes the best part. During the offertory, he assisted Fr. Dick as people gave their offers. I was staring at nowhere that time and just when I looked up and glanced at Fr. Dick, I CAUGHT MIKE LOOKING AT ME. I WASNT ASSUMING BECAUSE I CAUGHT HIM WITH MY TWO EYES. I felt uneasy and broke the tension between our eyes. I looked away. But then as he was getting the offers and placing them in front of the altar, I found myself staring at nowhere (again haha) and MY TWO LOST EYES CAUGHT HIM LOOKING AT ME AGAIN AS HE PLACED THOSE OFFERS. People were blocking my view but as he placed them in front, he still could see me. What was I thinking? Did it really mean something? Sacristans were in front to assist Fr. as they get him the sacred things needed for the last supper. My sister noticed and even whispered to me, "Wag kang titingin nakangiti si Miks," HAHAHAAHAHAHA why was he like that? He was like burying himself in humiliation. He was hiding behind Jerome's back and I can tell he was whispering something because Jerome laughed as it happened. I caught Mike looking at this girl again and I hated myself for caring too much. The receiving of the body of Christ began and he chose to 'plate' those people on our left. I wondered why not our line hahahaha. Jerome held the thurible that night and to think that he held it, he shouldn't do anything besides it because that's what I notice that Mike has been doing. Jerome plated our line. Mike was facing our direction though, I wondered if he was too shy or hindi nagpahalata kaya hindi niya kami pinlate or it's just his choice. And then it hit me, maybe he asked Jerome to get back here to plate our line just so hindi siya halata hahahaha. I don't know. But after I prayed, I saw in my peripheral vision that he looked at me as I finished and returned myself on my seat. I was facing the altar while he faced the side view of our row. Ano kaya tumakbo sa utak non? Hayz. I also realized something, if he's attracted to the girl who he kept looking at, he should've plated on her line instead of the line just beside us. Hay nako, di ko na talaga alam. Ayoko na mag assume. Pagod na ako :-((( Before the clock struck at 12 midnight, I went to my grandma's house to bring her food with my dad. As we made our way home, I noticed the tricycle that passed us boarded Mike at the back seat. I looked back to see if he's going to look back, but he didn't. He seemed sad that night.

Leviticus 22:17-23:44, Mark 9:30-10:12, Psalms 44:1-8, Proverbs 10:19
Today is the 28th day of February, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I’m Brian it's great to be here with you today coming to you from the holy city of Jerusalem where we…well…we spent the entire day kind of in and around the old city and…and all of the different things to see here in Jerusalem. Today will be escaping and going down to the shephelah, which is the lowlands for the day. So, that's exciting. It's…it's…it's beautiful to see the green lush open land again after being more in a metropolitan, kind of large congested area. So, that will give us a breather and get us ready for our final day of this pilgrimage tomorrow. So, let's…let's get into the Scriptures. Let's see what the Bible has to say to us today. We’re reading from the Christian Standard Bible this week. Today Leviticus chapter 22 verse 17 through 23 verse 44
Commentary:
Okay. So, in the gospel of Mark today Jesus is moving around the countryside teaching, doing ministry, doing what he does, and John comes to Him with this really, really interesting situation. He’s like, “we saw somebody trying to cast out demons in your name and we tried to put a stop to it because he wasn't…he wasn't one of us.” That is sort of the first rumblings of an issue that was…that was certainly going on among the Hebrew people but then bled its way into the early church and still continues until this very day. Even though Jesus spoke very very clearly from His own lips about how He saw it. So, like as believers, we usually kind of…we usually find a group, we might call it our church community, but we sort of find a group of friends, other believers and we…we stick together. And that's community. And there's nothing wrong with that. If we’re defining ourselves as believers in Jesus, we’re following the way, we are practicing our faith, knowing that we have not mastered anything, that…that we’re in process and that we’re walking with God and we’re walking together then we’re the body of Christ. It just gets weird once we decide we have to define precisely what that means. And then we get our theology books and start with our dogmas because invariably at some point we will think we have it right and someone else, some other group, some other people who don't see things the way we see them, they have it wrong. So, the ultimate question then becomes “who gets to be in the kingdom? Who gets in? And is that something that a human being, no matter how judgmental, and no matter how much authority they seem to hole, do they have any say in it at all?” After all it is God's kingdom. But we can get ourselves so segregated into our group that we then can't even fathom the concept that God could use anyone to do anything that thinks differently than we do because they’re not really in. So, John was seeing somebody that they didn't know that was not part of their group casting out demons in the name of Jesus and he tried to shut it down because he wasn't part of the group. Same thing was going on with the Pharisees toward Jesus and now it's in Jesus’ inner circle. And unfortunately, it's always been with us and is still with us today. But Jesus said “don't stop him. Anyone who is not against us is for us.” And then He went on and He had a little child and He uses the example. What He was saying was, “like anything that's done for anyone who belongs to Christ, even something as little as like a glass of water isn't gonna go unrecognized.” So, in our own lives may we understand that if and when we encounter God on the move, whether through a group of people or a person or something that we don't understand, let's quit with the labels, let's understand that we are at a crossroads. And as we've been talking about in all kinds of situations, let's understand that wisdom will be there and just the humility of knowing none of us have this all sorted out. That's why we’re practicing our faith. That's why we’re all undergoing the process of sanctification, the process that sets us apart and makes us holy to God. We’re all at different points in our journey. Criticizing everybody else's journey does not further ours. It actually walls us off and it doesn't take long before we look like the Pharisees. May we offer grace, the same kind of grace we would like to see as we love our neighbor as ourselves.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit we invite You into that because what freedom it would bring, what freedom it would bring. And we confess, the reason these kinds of things usually happen is truly based in fear. We do not want to get it wrong, not with You, not with You. The implications are far, far, far too dire. And, so, we live in fear that we might get it wrong when we will get it wrong. But You have offered us an open door. We can always return. We can always repent. And that is for everyone, not just for our group. So, come Holy Spirit and give us grace. May we see the kingdom at work in our world today and may we understand that we are a part of it. In Jesus’ name we ask. Amen.
Announcements:
Okay. So, we’re like down to our last couple of days in the land of the Bible for this pilgrimage and that's always kind of…of a mixed…mixed feeling. We’ve been in motion for so long now and it’s just our heart…heads, hearts, just bodies, everything. We’re full, empty and tired and elated. And, so, it's just all of that. And, so, yeah, longing to be home but hating to leave all of that just kinda comes. Yesterday, ooo, it was a long day around Jerusalem. Beautiful day, thank God. It was a beautiful, beautiful day but we…we were…we were working and we saw a lot, covered a lot of ground. I'm trying to think if I can even remember it all.
We got up early, like 1/2 an hour early to get in the line, queue to…to be able to go on to the Temple Mount. And that's pretty extraordinary on a clear blue-sky day. The dome just kind of stands out. It…it's just a really…it’s a remarkable place with definitely conflicted history all over the place over all kinds of time. But that's kind of the nature of Jerusalem. That's been the story pretty much all along. So, yeah, you can feel the tension, you can sense…you can sense that because it's ancient, it's always been. And, so, there’s just a lot of jostling around. But a beautiful morning up on the Temple Mount.
And then we came down and went to the pools of Bethesda. And this is where Jesus healed a man that had been…had been suffering there by the pools on a…basically on a daily basis for 38 years. And Jesus came along and said, “do you want to be made whole?” And that's a challenging thing. That's a challenging thing to consider, especially here on the pilgrimage. It’s like…it's like so much comes down to that. “Do you want to be made whole?” Not “can you” or “should you”. Like, “do you want to this and the collaboration that happens with God when we say yes to that?” And, so, yeah, spent a little bit of time, kind of pondering that and putting it in our hearts. It’s a beautiful church from the Crusader era right there with the acoustics that are really breathtaking as well. And often it's really full, really hard to get in there but we managed to get group in there, and Jill lead us in…in a song and just could hear the echo of our voices just bouncing all around. It's really majestic. It’s a lot of fun to do. It's just a really, really unique experience. It’s like you’re in a huge cathedral and you are, but just being in Israel in this ancient church and singing to the Lord and just hearing the echo of it is…is wonderful.
So, we did that and then many…many of us walked on the old walls. You can kind of walk a portion of the old walls, beautiful views and you gotta climb some stairs, but beautiful views. And then coming down and also just little small sections of the city that from the Roman era as well as like the wall, a portion of the wall of Jerusalem from the time of King Hezekiah. And that is also pretty remarkable, see how wide the wall is. Even though it’s like all buried, you know, you can’t see how high. And it's a small section but just kind of see like, “this is…the this is what a wall at this time, a fortified city at this time would’ve look like.” And their thick. I'm thinking, I don’t know, we’re like above it, I'm thinking 30 feet maybe 35. Maybe…I don't know. I’m not so good with that and I didn’t have a tape measure, but really really thick. So, you know, it's…it's easy enough to imagine the kind of battle the…like the kind of ongoing onslaught that it would take to breach a wall like that. And we read of those kinds of stories in the Scriptures, especially the tactic of surrounding…like starving the city basically and weakening everyone's morale. And there’s plenty of stories that we will encounter in the Bible about that including Hezekiah's story when we get to it.
Then there was some lunch in the Jewish quarter and then to the Jerusalem archaeological Park, which is again, it’s…I mean there's a lot to see but it is really spectacular. Your down below the walls of the old city. So, like the southern temple steps are there. Part of the steps that what would've continued up to the temple when it was there. And some of them have been re-created but some of the original steps are there. And, so, that's one of the places that you can be where…where you’re…you have just a pretty near certainty that Jesus would’ve walked there, that Jesus would’ve taught things on those steps and would've been there. And, so, for us to be there and not only have that touch point with Jesus, but also to open up the book of Acts and read the story of the Holy Spirit's coming and Peter's first message, and 3000 people following the way of Jesus after that and being baptized and considering where…where that might've taken place and understanding that the temple complex is really the only place that would have that kind of resource to do that many baptisms. So, that's a likely scenario. And just having that touch point is great. Like all these things are great by themselves and you start stacking them up and it's really great and then just kind of following all of the archaeology around the old walls and then making our way over to the Western wall and being able to go to the wall and join with brothers and sisters all over the world and…and pray, touch the wall.
I took Ezekiel to the wall this time. I mean, we prayed and that was…that was really sweet to watch his little hand reach out and touch the wall. Probably should've took pictures of that, probably would've wanted to remember that, but it just seemed like a moment that needed to live in memory. I don’t know. Sometimes you have these moments where you’re like, “I really really should video this or I really should take a picture of this”. But maybe that, you know, maybe that ruins the whole thing. Maybe this is just a moment that we have. So, that…that…that happened and was beautiful.
Then we went into the, what's called the rabbinical tunnels. So, a lot of archaeology has been done under the ground along the walls of the old city because the temple mount itself, the second Temple era, this is during Herod's development phase. And he was crazy. I mean you read about it. He was crazy. But he was a fantastic developer and so much of his fingerprint on this land still stands today, including…including the, you know, the Temple Mount, the whole support system to hold up the Temple Mount, like all these massive retaining walls. But they sort of disappear. You have this like one little section of that with, you know, with the western wall or the Wailing Wall as it has been known. But it continues. It's just, you know, the cities built up. But archaeologist have for years been working beneath the ground. And, so, you can kind of go down there and see all of that, basically walk the whole length of the Temple Mount under…under the ground and see that, “yeah, these are the same. This is the same Herodian era all the way down.” Ssee some of the Roman era. There’s opportunities where they had like glass, you could look down all the way to the second Temple period, the time of Jesus, see the street down below. So, that's pretty…pretty fantastic as well.
And then we finally…finally got back to our hotel pretty exhausted. We did a lot of walking. But it was a beautiful day and we made it…we made it and we saw a lot in Jerusalem today and we got sort of the…the full force of the city…like the change of complexion that Jerusalem brings. So, the wilderness, very different. The Galilee, very different than the wilderness. The Mediterranean coast, very different than the Galilee. Jerusalem, very different than the cost. So, we’ve kind of experienced all of that and it's been wonderful and today we’ll be heading into the low lands and I’ll be telling you about that tomorrow.
Thank you for your continued prayers and…over all of this…and as we prepare…even though we have a couple days left…as we prepare to reenter our world as we go home and prepare for that. Thank you for your prayers over all of that.

Community Prayer and Praise:
Hi this is Laura from Castle Rock and I just joined with the DAB this January. I just happened to find it. And, so, I’ve been listening every day and enjoying the Word and the prayers and today I just heard Harold call in and I just burst into tears because he prayed the prayer of salvation and I’m so happy for him. And I just have been following his story and ever since I heard about him, you know, praying for him and just thinking about all the other people that maybe don’t feel like they have a place. And I’m just so grateful I found this community and I, because of my own life circumstances, have been kind of isolated from the church and just been through a lot of hurt and trying to work through that but this format just is so nice and feels safe. And I just…I’m praying today to for Diana’s boys and just joining in with the prayers of the people that…that they would feel comforted and they would feel surrounded by love as they walk through the grief of losing their mom. So, I just wanted to say hi, introduce myself, and…and join in with the prayers of the community. Thanks. Bye.
So, this is my first time calling in my name is Emari Davis. You all can call me SOG1031. I’m from Houston Texas. This is this is my first time calling in because I was using the wrong app. I was using the old app and I was always wondering like, “I don’t see no red button up at the top. I’m not understanding how I’m supposed to call in and pray.” But finally updated to the new app, praise God and…and I’m loving it. I really am loving it. I’ve been plugged into the Daily Audio Bible this…for this year like every day. But I started a couple years ago. My mom actually showed me the app and I listen to it every once in a while, you know, but it’s just…just this year alone of me listening to it every day has really impacted my life and everything. And today I was listening and I just…I just want to pray…I just…I just I want to ask for prayer. Can you guys pray that…that…that the heart…that my heart is a good heart, you know, that it receives the Word like it should and just that God makes my heart a clean heart and…and that the that the word just takes deep ,deep root, deep root, deep, deep root. And that’s all…that’s all I ask of you guys. I also want to send prayers out to Diana Davis’s sons. You all will be in my prayers and…and everything. So, God bless you.
Hey this is Cindy the Silver Lining Miner from Seattle. I really have it on my heart to call and chat with you Daniel Johnson Junior. I think probably two years ago, maybe three, you sent or you sang a little doughnut song and I don’t remember what it was but I remember it was so adorable and it really lifted my spirits and I just…I wanted to take this opportunity to lift your spirits. And I know you’ve got issues with congestive heart failure and you’ve been laid off, but I just want you to rest and I don’t know how old you are, but rest assured gray capital is a thing. People will value your wisdom and your experience. And please don’t let your age deter you. Anybody who’s older and looking for work, man I work with some people who are older than me, which is surprising but it’s also encouraging because everybody’s got something to offer. And please don’t let those lies deter you from finding a job. I’ll be praying for you. Also wanted to pray for trusting father in South Carolina. I’m just praying for your daughters and your son. I’m happy that you have spiritual replenishment and I’m praying that you can be a beacon of light for your family. Kimberly who was abused by churchmen, I’m so glad you’re feeling a part of this community and enjoying this fellowship and I’m praying for you as well. There was a woman who called in tonight who…well…I listened tonight to the episode. and she just joined the church and she gave her life to Christ. Hang in there and listen to God, listen for God in the quiet times. His love is all around you and we will be praying for you and we welcome you to this community and we support and love you and God loves you a hundred times more. So, rest in that. Thank you.
Hi this is Norma from the Bronx. I just needed to call and thank Brian for today’s…February 19th…today’s devotional. Something really penetrated me, my spirit so much. Brian said something. He said that we try so hard to get out of the wilderness instead of trying to see what it is that God is…is trying to teach us or trying to show us. And it totally made me refocus the pain that I have been enduring to be lessons that God is trying to teach me. And I just want to be…hope that I’m thankful so much for Brian. It has given me a new sense of hope to focus on the lesson. And he also said something, that it shapes you. And that is so true. The wilderness, it shapes you and prepares you for what God has called you to do. That is so powerful. God bless you.
Hey DAB family this Kingdom Seeker Daniel from Chicago and I am…I am overwhelmed right now with tears of joy. I…I just left a facility that I service for the mentally disabled and there’s a young lady in there that I…I had a chance to connect with just in passing. She’s one of the residents and it’s been several months since we’ve connected, but as I just left the facility, she called my name out, she called my name out, she remembered my name from of very, very brief exchange that we had. And it just blessed by soul. And, so, I just wanted to encourage someone with…with the reality that God knows your name. God knows your name, Beloved, whoever you are, wherever you are, whatever you’re dealing with, He knows your name. Michael, Elijah, Charisse, He knows your name. Don’t ever think that God doesn’t love you. God bless you guys.
Hey DAB family it is Shanda the sister from South Dakota. I am calling today because I…well my son is in need of prayer. He is 18 and we’ve had to kick him out of the house because after he got off probation we found…I found marijuana in the house and an apparatus to smoke it with and we have young children and we had an expectation any he broke that expectation. Now he’s living with one of my family members that is most likely a practicing meth addict. And I know how much my son longs for acceptance and confidence and all the things that drugs…drugs falsely present themselves as - confidence and beautiful and wonderful. I’m just…I’m praying against the enemy making advances on my family anymore through drugs. I’m praying for the cycle of addiction to be broken. I started by getting clean and I am almost 2 years clean. And I just am praying for this generational curse to stop and…and for my family members to see the light of God. And God has told me to trust and not to worry and it’s been kind of hard lately but I’m gonna try and I’m just asking for you guys to rally behind me with your powerful prayers and I will keep praying for all of you guys. I love you guys. Thank you so much. Have a wonderful day.
Good morning this is Laura from Georgia I’m new to DAB. I’ve been here officially January 5th and it’s been a blessing to me. And I haven’t really called in for prayer for myself. I’ve called and prayed for other people and have given praise reports, but I need prayer. I am…I feel like I’m in the wilderness here. I am from Oklahoma but moved here two years ago two and a half years ago because of marriage. And the gentleman, after four months of marriage, emailed me and told me he wanted a divorce. So, I felt lost and alone, but God had me here for a reason because the only person that I could draw my strength on…strength from was Him. And I saw him do so much wonderful things for me. But the bottom line is is that I haven’t established any true friends because I am a member of the church, a beautiful church, but I only get to go on Sunday’s. Because of my work schedule I can’t go to Bible Study, I can’t get in connect groups or whatever. And my prayer is that God would bless me with female companion that loves the Lord and that we can experience Georgia together. I am dating but I miss that friendship, that female companionship and I need that. And there are days when I feel really, really low and, in fact, when I joined or came across DAB I was at a very low point, very depressed and feeling very, very alone. So, I thank you for mt DAB family. Keep me in prayer please and reach out to...

Acts 12:18 Now as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers, what was become of Peter.  ACTS 12- Herod kills James [not the brother of Jesus who is one of the lead Apostles at Jerusalem] and puts Peter in jail. Or ‘now that we are back from Jerusalem, lets ask Pastor so and so [the supposed Pastor of the ‘church at Antioch’] what's next’. I agree.

ALEXANDRIA- EGYPT. It had the largest library of the ancient world and was Egypt's capitol for around 900 years.
I grew up in New Jersey [yes- the state of the great governor Christie!J].

(360) I was up praying early.
