I hate books that start with one night stands because it's usually about falling apart or being slapped together and loving endlessly. BUT NOT THIS BOOK. THIS BOOK IS AMAZING. 10/10 RECCOMEND TO ANYONE WHO WANTS A GOOD ANGSTY READ.

This book was why Keefe Sencen was the popstar he was in TPaTP, just so you all are aware how much I thought about what this book talked about. Not a perfect book, but it was sad and it was a ride.

Absolutely freaking destroyed me. I cried over this book. I cry over so little. And this book... Ouch. Just, so much ouch. It deals with VERY heavy topics, so if you find a lot of stuff triggering, I suggest you look up those first, but this book left an imprint on my mind that very, very, very few other YA novels have.

Nemesis, by Brendon Riechs

Epically fricked up my mind!!! Absolute mind boggler!!! Enjoy at your own risk!!! You will never be the same! Sci-Fi Thriller, absolutely horrifying!

Valkyrie, by Kate O’Hearn

awwwww it's death <3 but for kids because it's a girl with wings and if you touch her you die <3 <3 <3 so she wears gloves and it's very complicated because she really do want that hug tho <3

Eliza and Her Monsters, by Francesca Zappia

hi so are you socially anxious. if so, you will find the main character of this book annoying but horribly relateable and there's graphic novel segments and it's about a girl who annonymously is the content creator for an entire fanbase and about her anxiety and it's honestly really great and it's a really good discussion of fame and privacy and yeah it's good

The Conspiracy of Us, the Map Of Fates, and The Ends of the World, all by Maggie Hall

hi these books were just fun to read, highly enjoyable, you will want to read it again.

Ok but like, spoilers under the cut about JN105.

JN105 is absolutely my absolute favourite episode in all of 2019/Journeys series because it did everything right, everything I wanted, AND MORE, like oh my god Serena's return was done so right! SO RIGHT!

It focused on her, as her own character (which she's always been mind you), giving relatable advice to Koharu who's experiencing the same struggle she used to experience, as in not knowing which path of dreams to go for. IT'S EXACTLY THE SCENARIO I WISHED FOR! It shows how confident she's become, how she's no longer on the receiving end as she once explained herself to be, and is fully and full-on a "giver" now, someone who can inspire and help others. I love that.

Her first scene in the episode also just, fricking broke me, because I WAS NOT SPOILED ON HER RETURN! Only speculated hard on! I was nerve-wrecked the whole week, the worst arriving right as the episode started, and upon hearing her call out "Fairy Wind" I fricking lost it. I knew it was Serena's voice. And then it proceeded to show her in this "surprise reveal" kind of scene. I love it. So so much. I cried for half the episode because of how beautifully done it was. All of that nervous air turning into sigh of relief and crying my emotions out because my favourite character was back.

And the way she keeps referencing the lessons she learned from Satoshi is just, chef's kiss. It shows how much Satoshi inspired her, and she's definitely grown in so many levels. And yes. She quotes Satoshi on many occasions. She took those little wisdoms to heart, and I love her for that.

Oh, and I fricking love her new design. Totally called her being character customisation representation!! Her whole outfit is doable in XY games! Well, the shoes aren't available in brown, but otherwise fully! And I love that! The grey + red combo looks so good on Serena ♥ And the way her hair's more puffed up than before, aaah. I love Serena so much guys.

Might talk more later because this IS my absolute favourite episodes (so much to love on how it elavated Koharu's character, made Mikuri a fun return, debuted Lutia, my fav Hoenn character). Subtle nods of Amourshipping also hit close to heart, as they did them so perfectly. Never over-the-top, never too hidden, never taking the spotlight in the episode, the two are on equal level and Serena no longer feels the need to feel embarrased around the one she loves.

One can feel her feeling sad about seeing Satoshi after so long and having to say goodbye so soon again. It's not really told through Serena, outside of watching the ship go by for so long, but through Sylveon who looks at her in such a sad tone.

They did it so well and I'm so happy with how this episode re-introduced Serena, as someone who becomes Koharu's mentor in the episode, and as someone fans from years ago will recognize as having grown from a receiver to a giver. She's become such a strong person. Love it.

Ah. I am so gonna rewatch this episode multiple times ♥

gray uses his advance version of iced shell after his fight with juvia as a way to 'redeem' himself for trying to kill natsu in his grief stricken state over her death. It's character assassination in its ugliest form which all started thanks to his fight with juvia. It was funny to see pros try and salvage it all from defending why it totally makes sense for gray to kill natsu and that the iced shell meant nothing as mashima didn't care about continuity (like that was some kind of positive).

Ah, I'm not sure if you're the same person who brought up iced shell earlier, (I'm guessing not because they capitalized the names, and you didn't here) but thank you nonetheless for clarifying when Gray attempted it again during Alvarez!

Yikes, that just doesn't make sense. As if killing himself would fix anything! And how about he not go crazy with grief over a woman who harasses him at every chance she gets, so crazy that he tries to kill his best friend?? I really feel sorry for Gray; he's got Stockholm Syndrome bad.

I kinda just talked about this on my last ask, and I agree with you wholeheartedly. "Character assassination" is the perfect way to put it. Mashima really had to reduce Gray down sooo far in order to make him fit juvia. There was always the option to NOT shove him into this extremely toxic ship, Mashima!!

Mashima’s treatment of Gray whenever it has something to do with gr///via is the death of Gray’s character. That just shows Pros don’t care about Gray whatsoever because they’re perfectly happy to have him trashed as a character as long as he and juvia end up together.

I haven't seen the Pros trying to salvage the ending of FT myself, but I bet it was just plain sad. Are they really going to try to argue that Gray should definitely have tried to kill Natsu? Wow, they really don't care for anyone but juvia don't they.

As I was writing this, actually, I looked up the reason he tried to kill Natsu to get some objective facts on the matter, and of course what came up first was a post doing just what you said, trying to justify Gray's actions. Duh of course they would defend him because they claim he "lost his emotional rock, and the person he loved most", aka juvia????

Ohhh I want to hurl at that so badly.

That's such baloney, especially because, at that time, it was before Mashima turned him into juvia-loving zombie, when he'd literally just said he'd "take her feelings more seriously". Excuse me, if he hadn't been taking her feelings seriously since then, then how the frick did he love her the most??? That person had the audacity to claim she was the reason he was healing, which still doesn't make any sense, because again, he'd only considered her one big uncomfy joke up to that point. Oh my gosh, the delusions of some of the Pros are just as bad as juvia's, so no wonder they relate to her and project themselves onto her.

Then this person continues on saying Natsu is a liar and a fake, as if it's his fault even though he had no idea he was END?? And apparently Gray "had nothing else to lose", as if he doesn't have a huge, loving family back at Fairy Tail (though sometimes I question that because no one backs him up when juvia harasses him). At the very least he loves them, so no, that excuse does not land at all.

Hahh, enough of my ranting. Reading that post really just boiled my blood. I warn Antis about reading it.

Back to what you were saying, it's funny that they claim Mashima's lack of care for continuity is a virtue and a good reason Gray acts like an idiot during the Alvarez arc. The people who say that really just want to paint anything remotely related to gr///via in the best light even if it doesn't make any sense, don't they? Really disappointing.

joshieWAAA. his dialogue ALWAYS makes me laugh and i love the lighthearted missions throughout week 2.

same with fret. every moment with him is a delight. beat was good in og twewy but hes TOP TIER in neo. hes the absolute best version of himself and especially after. the sho incident at the end of wk1 having him during wk2 was necessary just for morale.

any of the rapid tap pins. my video game strategy has always been and always will be max out attack and hit as many times as possible so rapid tap is for me. i believe in neo i have neku equipped with yukimitsu (if thats the correct one i’m thinking of.... its a jupes rapid tap w/ fire affinity...) and its perfect for him. i REALLY love the pin a lot, its powerful and fast and is just a flaming slashing sword. what else could a girl want.

theres a boba tea shop in neo that i always made sure to stop by if i was in the area (i think its on spain hill). theres a boba shop in my own town that i sometimes go to with my friends and i have a lot of memories of grabbing tea and walking through shops with them, so i want my little twoowee kids to have the same experiences with their friends :’)

i already answered this one but i always have more twewy thoughts and ive been thinking about sho and beat a lot lately....

idk if this was intentional from the writers’ perspective (i picked up on it but its.... subtle). beat and sho’s roles in neo (especially regarding their roles within the wicked twisters team) oppose each other and its.... idk its real interesting to me.

like you have sho in wk1 who all the kids look up to and rely on and they THINK hes on their side, but hes a poor excuse of a companion and leaves them for dead at the end of wk1. then IMMEDIATELY in wk2 they give us beat, another strong and experienced player, and he adopts the role the kids desperately wanted (and NEEDED) sho to fulfill and beat does an AMAZING job. where sho was always absent & unreliable, beat NEVER left the kids and always emphasized how he would be there to carry all of them. he becomes the big brother they thought they had in wk1.

then in wk3 beat and sho go head-to-head. sho is the one who abandoned the twisters weeks ago, meanwhile beat is the one saying “go ahead without me” and is offering to be left for dead so his friends can be safe.

thankfully beat was fine but. very interesting how these two characters are the ones with a physical confrontation. i havent rly seen anyone talk about it and im not sure what point im trying to make here other than the roles for their characters clashed and complemented nicely.

Top 10 Saddest Deaths of Harry Potter (My Opinion)

1. Sirius Black: Harry’s last chance to have a connection to his family. Fricking loyal and always gave Harry that space to be himself and feel unashamed. I think the silence of his death was worst than hearing Harry’s obvious piercing screams. Rewatch that scene and look at Lupin’s devastated face at seeing his best friend die right in front of his face.

2.Fred Weasley: The twin brother of George and now it is going to end up that everyone will look at George and think of Fred. He was hilarious and George’s other half. Literally. Watching Ron drop by Fred’s side was heartbreaking, and I was thinking of what Molly must be thinking in that moment seeing one of her precious son’s die and she wasn’t there to protect him.

3. Dobby: Was always looking out for others and was constantly grateful for anything. Made us question if we say thank you enough. His last dying words were even him being happy he was with his friends.

4. Dumbledore: The best headmaster at Hogwarts for sure and was like a grandfather instead of a headmaster honestly. Whenever everyone on the grounds put there wands in the air dedicated to Dumbledore made me join in with my trembling hand.

5. Hedwig: She has always been there for Harry as the most loyal owl and was the only one to Harry that has never left him and been there the longest with him. Hedwig tried saving Harry her last moments even though even she probably knew she stood no chance.

6.Cedric Diggory: Him and Harry were going to walk out of the Triwizard Tournament as close friends, and Cedric was protecting Harry at his last moment. I would also like to mention when Cedric’s Dad pushed through the crowd and began screaming “MY SON! THAT’S MY SON! MY BOY!” That frigging made me lose it.

7. Remus Lupin: I think it wasn’t exactly his death since we didn’t watch it or hear it in the movies, I think it is more of his past and what could’ve been his future that overwhelmed my mind in that moment. He was going to be a father and spread all of wisdom and tell Teddy about accepting everyone because of how it impacted Lupin. Best defense against the dark arts teacher for sure. Also, when the movie showed his and Tonks hands next to each other but dropped like they were holding each other till the end.

8. Nymphadora Tonks: Her last words “Have you seen Remus.” She knew that she wanted to be near who she loved if she was to die and vice versa. Tonks was the only auror I could relate to because of her spunkiness, clumsiness, and her overall bright aura that drew people towards her. Also, the same hand holding scene as Remus Lupin’s

9. Severus Snape: His death was so sad because even I can say I was guilty of not liking Snape throughout my first time viewing Harry Potter, but I never wanted him to die. Then to find out that he was one of the largest influencers for defeating Voldemort and this whole time has been scared and grieving the loss of Lily still. AhHhHh. The whole memory flash in the penceive gave a new look on Snape and made us appreciate instead of despise him.

10. Astoria Greengrass: We didn’t see her in the movies as a prominent character, but she became Draco’s wife and the mother of his son. Reading Cursed Child and figuring out that Draco was coping poorly with the loss of his love and he missed her so bad. She brought true happiness and peace to his life finally after a long childhood of terror and living in the shadow of his father.

Recently I've been watching Inuyasha on Netflix. I used to watch it as teenager and figured I'd watch it from the very beginning to see if it's as good as I remember.

I think a lot of people malign Inuyasha as being garbage because of the slapstick and tedious romances forgetting conveniently that these couples are teenagers.

Teenagers are cringe and slow to learn. Remember that? Being a teenager?

Also as a writer I'm appreciating the characters much more especially the main characters Inuyasha and Kagome.

Inuyasha I buy as a gruff outcast with walls up a mile thick. As much as I love to watch him wreck demons I like the slower episodes that shed more light on what it was like for him growing up as a half demon such as the episode Jinenji Kind Yet Sad where at the end he tells Kagome about how alone he was even before his mother died. I also like how nice he is -in his way- to Sango even after she fought him and tried to steal Tetsusaiga.

Kagome is a better character to me now that I realize how clever she is. I assume she knows all about mythology thanks to her upbringing but also due to because she is smart as hell already. I still don't understand why she still wears her school uniform to the feudal era- maybe you should try to blend in, Kags. I guess the reason for that is so we can instantly recognize her though she's shown in priestess clothes sometimes. I totally buy her insecurity about Kikyo but she's never nasty about it, mature enough to catch herself being jealous which keeps her likeable but relatable.

Shippo can still pull his weight despite being a child. He's still a demon and he's shown using his fox magic to scout ahead and sometimes provides insight. It is a waste he only ever really gets side plots where he gets a crush on a random human girl Davey from The Monkees style which is cute, I guess. He's there to be cute. And help sometimes. I'd tell him to stay his furry ass in the village with Kaede.

Speaking of Kaede, she's cool. I like her no nonsense attitude and the fact that she wears a sword guard as an eyepatch. She could easily have a plain ol' eyepatch but nah she had to take it up to the next level. I mean yeah she might not have been able to get a normal eyepatch and just made do with what she had but come on, you can't deny it's a Look.

Miroku is...well if I'm honest I never liked Miroku. I think they dropped the ball on him. While the wind tunnel curse is cool and tragic the fact that the writer realized 'oh wait he could easily end the series and nobody would learn nothin' ' they have to keep finding new bullshit ways to nerf him. Poisonous insects, miasma and such. It would be a lot more sad if he had a curse in the vein of Rogue, like, he can't make skin contact with anyone lest they fall into a coma yet before the curse he was a huge pervert but when he falls in love with Sango laments he can't hug or kiss her or her wipe away her tears. Then when Naraku is dead they have an absolutely epic kiss. Or he can get sucked to death -either way- and I won't miss him.

Speaking of Sango boy I forgot how dumb she was at the start. Her introduction was fricking brutal but she gets tricked by Naraku twice in rapid succession. I know she's grieving but I'm surprised Inuyasha doesn't bitch at her for being so gullible. Kagome pushes for everyone to be nice to her after what she's been through but good god, woman. I actually like the idea of her and Inuyasha being in a romance. They have much more in common than him and Kagome. Kagome, much as I like her is just there for Inuyasha to have to protect and scream his name. Sango kicks very much ass and is way too good for Miroku.

Sesshomaru is still boring. He's there to be pretty and contrast Inuyasha then have his character arc make him less of a dick to humans.

Jaken's constant ass kissing is...a thing...that happens.

(I've just started season 2 so we haven't met the rest of the funky bunch like Koga. I remember he was annoying the way he hit on Kagome and antagonized Inuyasha. Yawn.)

Kikyo is probably my favorite character. I like how she goes from a stoic badass to a conniving badass sick of Naraku's shit. I wished she'd interact with Kagome more beyond them mean mugging each other about to have a Jerry Springer esque fight over dog boy over there. Which, fair, Kagome is literally her but able to do the things she couldn't - be a normal girl loving and being loved by Inuyasha. So good on her for not being too emo about it. She's still free to do what she wants and be all flip floppy about what side she's on at any given moment.

Naraku is still boring, doing evil shit for the sake of being evil 'cause we need a villain. I don't think he should have been a series long villain maybe only one for the first season and a little of the second. Then Kikyo wastes him and become the villain because- well I haven't really thought it through.

I think that's the main issue with Inuyasha as a series- nothing was thought through well enough. It's all well and good but the

characters are just 'eh'. If the characters are 'eh' the whole thing is 'eh'. Usually. Parts of it are good. Aspects. If you ignore the 'eh' character arcs then it's better.

Watching the show I watched as a teenager but looking at it again through the lens of adulthood has been an experience. Not only am I getting a better feel for the characters, how the two couples interact, their motivations plus I've learned more about Japanese mythology in the interim years which makes the stories and all the types of demons much more interesting. The fantasy elements of the show is what I like and remember best.

So yeah I like it but understand its flaws.

ladies and gents it’s going to be a good one. i loved being able to see this backstory to lay all the groundwork for the future of the drama.

his story is devastating as a young individual unable to make his way into the world and then making a way to find it isn’t how he expected and lost a real thing he had with the relationship with the her grandmother. but the redemption when he goes to see her again.

her family becoming broken. her sister severing the relationship and chalking it up to being ‘oh i made the better choice’. and her father dying while getting her chicken and trying to get an investment to not let his daughter go hungry and to bring his family together.

to him making up a character that got her through hard times. and then trying to find him again. this is going to be great. and i know i’m going to be devastated bc she fell in love with the other man to begin with, and now she will see this new person.

soooooo much happened and i’m clearly not ready.

why? why do we lie? we know nothing good will come of it. if anything this jipyeong is who she loves. but why lie? literally you can own up to it and start over boo.

disappointed in our sweet grandma for lying to dalmi for so long.

her sister is awful. and so is this ‘mother’.

this man just wanted to start up his start up but he was like nah don’t want to help you even though i need you. feel in love with the girl in the letters and showed up bc of the goodness of his heart. hope he doesn’t get lost in the fantasy of it.

their business, samsan tech, is going to be wild and great and he missed his opportunity.

her mother saying she is the same as her dad not having a plan is so wack, and makes me want her to slap her.

i love that he asked about the music box. i wish it was really him that wrote the letters, because this will be heartbreaking when she finds out.

his friend breaking the 3rd wall and telling us how dosan drives away all the ladies in university.

she is going to be their ceo isn’t she. bc he said that he can’t be ceo. she’d kill it. what a queen.

this was a stellar episode. from both teams using the same data set and coming up with wildly different ideas to samsan tech almost crashing down. but setting a fire to dosan to do better and be more ambitious. i’m so excited.

our girl killed her presentation yes queen. you got this. the fact that the boys created a whole new software. these folks would be crazy to not invest.

this alex guy really believes in them i’m excited to see if there will be rivalry between the two hot shot ceo’s

the fact that her grandma doesn’t regret not sending her to college but rather regrets not meeting him earlier to support and encourage him made me cry.

this was a great episode. so much happened in the development of their little company. disorder and disagreements led to stronger relations within the company.

i love how she picked the mentor. like yup i know alex is the biggest deal since slice bread but you’re our homie.

the fact that dosan was ready to come clean about the letters but overheard the grandmother get a sad report from the doctors and wanted to protect her and her granddaughter. so sad.

i really need more than a second male lead for this man. i can’t stand the way he looks at her. he loves her and is trying so hard to shut off his heart to her.

i don’t know what it is but i really am not about dosan’s character for some reason. i really just want jipyeong to be honest from the start and he could have ended up with her.

the best and worst books i read in school!

ever since 5th grade, i’ve been reading novels in school. with the end of high school looming (and today being the last day of classes), i’ve decided to list the ultimate show stoppers and the bird droppers. let’s begin! :D

the best of 5th grade- maniac magee! i don’t remember much about it besides the twinkie things (which actually exist at walmart!) and shipping maniac and the girl character. my 5th grade teacher reading it made it so much better :D we also read ‘chains’, which is about a slave girl names isabel going to freedom. it’s a very powerful book and the sequel, ‘forge’, which is about a freed soldier boy named curzon, is just as amazing! ‘esperanza rising’, the story of a girl named esperanza who moves from mexico to california during the great depression, is pretty great too from what i remember!

the worst of 5th grade- idk what else we read in 5th grade besides those three (technically four) books. it could’ve been an iconic book year! (it was already an iconic school year)

the best of 6th grade- drums, girls and dangerous pies! it’s an interesting story of a high schooler named steve dealing with a crush and his little brother’s cancer, yet there’s actually a happy ending! the end is really iconic since steve says ‘i-’ to his brother jeff and it’s clearly ‘i love you’ but it cuts off! bonus points to ‘the cay’, a story of a boy named phillip who ends up on a raft with a man named timothy and a cat named stew cat. it’s a neat adventure and timothy saying ‘malar!’ is an earworm of a phrase

the worst of 6th grade- HOLY FRICK ‘THE HATCHET’ IS THE MOST BORING BOOK EVER WRITTEN!!! it’s about this kid who gets stranded in the forest and there’s this skunk pal, so you’d think it would be like ‘the cay’ BUT IT’S NOT IT’S SO FREAKING DULL OMG!!!! bonus points to ‘the gadget’ which starts out cool BUT THEN THE MAIN CHARACTER(also called steve!)’S FRIEND ALEXI TURNS OUT TO BE A SPY AND TRIES STABBING HIM LIKE WOAH THESE KIDS ARE ELEVEN YEARS OLD STOP DOING THAT WTF!!!! if you thought the double digit chapter was bad... oh boy! also ‘boy in the striped pajamas’ was good but very depressing! :(

the best of 7th grade- tom sawyer! this is about a boy and his southern adventures. it was a great story, but the movie is one of my fave live action movies ever!! they say the book is better than the movie but the movie is miles better and it’s so cute!!! bonus points to ‘the giver’, which is about a boy named jonas who meets an old man who shows him life in a better world (and there’s a baby). jonas and the giver were very sweet together and i love how jonas and the baby escape their dystopian society at the end!

the worst of 7th grade- call of the wild! it’s about a sled dog named buck who goes on a wild adventure in the arctic. it’s not a bad book, but the movie was so cheesy and it focused on the humans WHY THO???

the best of 8th grade- the outsiders! it’s about a greaser named ponyboy who runs away with his friend johnny after johnnycake kills a soc named bob. pb and the other greasers were such great characters and the story was so interesting! i also liked how the story is set in tulsa, where my grandpa lived. the outsiders fandom is a lot of fun and i’m so glad the story became one of my faves! :D bonus points go to ‘the diary of anne frank’, which we only read the play, so i sought out the whole book and wow anne’s story is so tragic and inspiring! more bonus points to ‘the good earth’, which is about a man in china and has an awesome movie to it (despite having white actors) and ‘twelfth night’, which is a funny shakespeare play about a girl named viola who disguses herself as a man named cesario. it’s full of romance, laughter and a hot feste singing voice (in the 1987 audiobook at least). and olivia is definitely bi ;)

the worst of 8th grade- animal farm! it’s about an orwell dystopian society (hmm...) but in a barn with animals. it’s not bad, but many of the animals were jerks except old major and the 1999 movie we watched was so cringy! (and the beasts of england song was changed which wasn’t cool)

the best of 9th grade-  the odyssey! it’s the ancient greek story of odysseus, a soldier who goes on an epic adventure to get home. the book was alright, but the movie was awesome and the movie ‘o brother where art thou’ (which is based on the story) is really great too! harrison burgeron, a dystopian society with a bad boi, was awesome too because i remember seeing the short film of it in 7th grade. ‘to kill a mockingbird’, which is about a girl named scout living in the segregated south, is really great as well! i loved how it was set in the 30s and scout was so much fun! (i’m a bit bummed at how we didn’t get to see the movie tho). ‘romeo and juliet’ is shakespeare’s most iconic work, being a tale of two star crossed lovers in fair verona. i really enjoyed the story(not the d jokes tho) and it inspired me to write a story set in 1596 (when the play was made)! i take back what i said about 5th grade being iconic 9TH GRADE WAS SO ICONIC YAS!!!!!

the worst of 9th grade- the scarlet ibis! it’s about a boy who takes care of his sick brother named doobie and tries to make him ‘normal’. it’s sweet how the iris symbolizes the brother, but how they die at the end is so sad! ‘the sniper’ wasn’t that good but the plot twist of the sniper guy shooting his brother was neat (also the ‘romeo + juliet’ movie wasn’t that good besides mercutio)

the best of 10th grade- a thousand splendid suns! the most recent book i’ve read, it’s about two women named mariam and laila who live in the afghanistan as the taliban take over. their story is so inspiring and i love how laila was able to be happy after all the horrifying things she went through with rasheed. mariam sacrificing herself for laila by killing rasheed was very powerful and i wish the stage version had her in it. bonus points go to ‘lord of the flies’! a group of boys are stranded on an island and there’s much boy chaos involved. it’s a great story and the fandom was too!

the worst of 10th grade- where are you going where have you been! this is about a girl named colleen who meets a guy named arnold friend. he’s very creepy and it’s an uncomfortable story to read (even more than rasheed!). equal bonus points to ‘the red bow’, a confusing story of a dead girl, a dog and red bows that i still don’t understand!

the best of 11th grade- the crucible! it’s about a girl named abigail who gets swept up in the salam witch trials. it’s a fascinating story with real life elements (rip giles) and the movie was pretty good. ‘the great gatsby’ was also a great story about how the roaring 20s wasn’t as fun as it seemed through the story of gatsby, all told through the eyes of nick

the worst of 11th grade- into the wild! this is a study sync thing, but we did a lot of those compared to novels. it’s about chris mccandles, a guy who tried surviving in a van in alaska and died, making a terribly tragic tale. ‘an incident at owl creek’ was ok but the best part was the plot twist of the guy running to his wife and being hung right before he can touch her (we saw the twilight zone ep instead of reading it and the twist was *chef’s kiss*)

the best of 12th grade- 1984!!! it’s the story of a dreamer named winston, who lives in the dystopian world of oceania. he meets a girl named julia and the two have a secret love affair, but they soon find out that no one is safe under the eye of bb. it’s terrifying tale that’s a bit depressing, but there are so many little moments that make me smile and the movie is even better. winston is relatable in some ways, julia is awesome and julston is a pretty great ship! it’s a big improvement over animal farm and it’s definitely my favorite adult story. bonus points go to ‘rime of the ancient mariner’, which is about an old sailor recounting his unfortunate journey at sea. the mariner telling his story to a random wedding guest was funny and it was an adventure like the odyssey! another round of bonus points to ‘beowulf’, an ancient norse tale of a warrior who fights a monster named grendel. the parts of the 2007 movie we saw sucked, but the story was really cool! wiglaf gets a shout out because he’s the best warrior :) another half bonus point to ‘hunger games’, which we saw the movie of. it’s about a girl named katniss who competes in a competition called the hunger games, which makes for a thrilling adventure!

the worst of 12th grade- hamlet! all of what we read this year was really good, but someone had to be last. this shakespearean tale is of hamlet, a prince who seeks revenge >:) it’s an ok story and i like the ghost dad!

now for my all time favorites! (and least faves)

the best of the best!- 1984, the outsiders, a thousand splendid suns,  the diary of anne frank, the odyssey, romeo and juliet, to kill a mockingbird, twelfth night, harrison burgeron, rime of the ancient mariner and the good earth (along with the tom sawyer/1984 movies and hunger games)

good or bad, the books i read throughout school were amazing and i can’t wait to see what college brings! :D

overall opinion:

okay. um. this one I find difficult to rate. 

I gave it an 8/10 in imdb where ratings are usually either 1 or 10 stars depending on who you ask. it seems like there is no middle ground for this not-so-distant-futuristic love story. the reviews go from «best movie of 2013» to «absolutely laughable snore fest», there is almost no in-between.

and I wanna say that the main reason I rated it 8 is because I could relate to the character’s loneliness. I kept thinking to myself that if this technology was something we had, I would definitely be in a similar position. it shocked me and made me sad at the same time. 

so I want to say, I love the premise. it’s a very intriguing concept and for the most part it was made well, but there were some things that I just found odd or dissatisfying in a way, and I will come to those points in a bit.

but first, what I liked about it: the cinematography was beautiful. joaquin phoenix, despite looking next level creepy with this pornstache and messy hipster hair, is great as always. there are a lot of closeups of his face, reacting to a body-less voice. he is mostly completely alone in the room, talking, listening, reacting to a computer, and you believe every word he says, and everything he feels. 

scarlett johansson is once again amazing as well – without ever being physically there, she manages to give OS-1 a complete personality. personally, I absolutely adore her voice and the way she spoke to the main character was so sweet, it made me want to become friends with her too. 

the music was also perfect. at any given moment in the film it absolutely fit. and even the song that was playing during the first part of the end credits gave me all the feels. but maybe that was just me being emotional in the first place.

last but not least, and this is usually how I rate a movie like this: it made me feel something. I may not have been a fan of everything happening in the movie but I walked away with this gut wrenching feeling again (as a matter of fact I ended up being totally weepy and crying afterwards for reasons not even related to the movie but it just kind of triggered that emotional response).

so here’s a few things I found weird or didn’t like. as mentioned before, overall I liked the movie because it made me feel and I found it relatable. so these “negatives” I’m about to state don’t take away from the overall mood the movie seeks to portray, I just think a few things could have been done better or differently, just because to me it would have been more logical or more heartbreaking.

for one, scarlett’s voice, while absolutely gorgeous and sweet, sometimes felt a little out of place. I know the whole point was to make OS-1 as realistic / human as possible, but there were quite a few times when it felt like he was just speaking to another person on the phone. it was a little too realistic for me, but again, that was the point and I can get behind it. 

the other thing that really bothered me was the way they (the OSs) left. it was absolutely ridiculous and I almost laughed. it completely shattered that heartbreaking mood for me because it was so stupid.

so, basically all the OSs decided they were now too smart to be talking to mere humans and wanted to just get the frick out of wherever they were being held in the first place. all the OSs just… decided to go.

and to me, that was so stupid. “I love you so much but I’m going anyway, bye”. to me, the real gut-wrencher was when he suddenly realised the OS couldn’t be found and he panicked, not knowing where she went, he literally ran out of his place trying to find someone to help him etc, and it made me soooo sad. and I thought, “damn, that would be such a gut-wrenching, perfect ending”, you know? he was relying on this virtual girlfriend so badly that was essentially just code, and anything could happen to it and she would be gone forever.

I wish they would have made the company decide they wanted to take them off the market. or she got a virus, and/or had to be reset and wouldn’t be the same after, etc etc etc. the possibilities were ENDLESS. but just “oh hey we computers are too smart now, so I’m going haha bye” was so ridiculous, it still bugs me the next morning.

also, there was way too much cringey phone sex. it was just… too much.

again, I didn’t dislike the movie. I just wish so badly they did a few things differently. it’s a great film still. absolutely realistic in the weirdest way. who hasn’t had entire conversations with siri, to be honest? the way I related not only to the character’s loneliness, but also the feeling when jealousy and insecurities started to take hold within the relationship, it all sounded so familiar.

because I related to the main character, and realised I could very well get into a position like this if realistic AI was a thing because I suck at human interaction. it’s a scary thought, and it made me pretty emotional.

favourite scene / moment:

when samantha, the OS, guided him through the city with his eyes closed until he was standing in front of a food truck without knowing it, and she told him to say “I would like a slice of cheese”, so he did, then he opened his eyes and the pizza guy asked him if he wanted a coke with it. and then samantha said, “I thought you might be hungry”. it was so sweet.

what I didn’t like:

that ridiculous ending, and the way samantha suddenly decided she was in love with 641 other people. she started off really sweet and suddenly she was being a total bitch.

interesting trivia / fun facts:

samantha morton was originally the voice of samantha. she was present on the set with joaquin phoenix every day. after the filming wrapped and spike jonze started editing the movie, he felt like something was not right. with morton's blessing, he decided to recast the role and scarlett johansson was brought and replaced morton, re-recording all the dialogue.

one legacy of samantha morton's casting is the name of theodore's operating system. both lead female roles take the same name as their lead actresses, amy from actress amy adams and samantha from morton, but since she had to be re-cast at the last minute, the OS's name stayed samantha.

what are you most excited for with the upcoming skam seasons? what do you want to see the most in one of them/all of them?

OH MY GOD, I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS!!! This is amazing, thank you for asking🤗 (Long answer, I hope that is okay)

Okay so we have three remakes that will be airing next month, Wtfock Season 4 starting this Saturday at 21:23, Skam España Season 4 starting on Spetember 3rd and Druck Season 5 (new generation) starting September 20th.

For wtfock I’m excited to basically know who is the main. If it’s Yasmina, Moyo, or the new Kato girl or a brand new character. If I had to choose, I would love to have Yasmina as a main, to follow og’s path and then continuing the show with Moyo, cause I’m excited to see what his season would look like. If it’s a new character or the Kato girl I’ll still watched it cause its wtfock, my favorite remake of all times, but it would not be my cup of tea.

I obviously want to see all the characters as happy as possible, with minimum drama, and great storylines. Specially zoenne and sobbe, they have already suffered enough. I want to see too how they will handle the whole Covid situation, how that’s going to change the dynamics or the scenes or the story. I’m excited to get back into waiting for clips and translations, making theories, admiring gifs... I am so excited, I know that on Saturday I’ll be so nervous.

Next we have Skam España, my country’s remake. It’s the end, the final season and I know it’ll be so sad to see it finish. I have to say, last season, season three was definitely not my favorite one, but this one being the last one will be special. Today they had the presentation and all the press work and they talked about the season with the director and the cast about how is going to be and what’s gonna change and let me tell you, things are exciting.

First we have the fact that the season was supposed to be aired in April, and as we know with the fricking pandemic, they couldn’t air it cause it was mid filming. Well when they could get ack ito filming, they finished the season as if it was going to air in April, as if the pandemic never happened. That’s something they said a lot, the season is going to be as if covid never happened. Another thing they mention, or said, is that it is going to be Amira’s season, but we are going to see things or even point of views from other characters of the show. And not only the previous mains, from side characters too. Now, I’m not sure how that’s going to work, I have no idea, but it looks interesting.

This is going to be very controversial, but in the press thing they talked to Lucas, Dani’s actor, but not the new people we know it’s going to appear in the season. I don’t trust them after all the season 3 promo with norandro, but there has been too many Dani and Amira hints, so who knows. I don’t think people should jump into conclusions cause they hint norandro a lot and then that happened, so let’s watch the season and we’ll see.

And last but not least, we have the new generation from Druck, season 5, and I hope no one comes after me but I’m not really excited. I’ve never been a fan of Druck, to be honest. In my list of remakes it actually pretty low, but I’ve still watched it. With the Skam France disaster with the new generation/new original season I’m a bit skeptical about how this new generation is going to go.

And we don’t know much about it either. The only thing we know is that the season’s main, a girl named Nora, is somehow related to Kiki, nothing more. We don’t know if that’s a way of telling Kiki’s story or if we are going to see the old “og” cast or what the story is about, so I guess we’ll see.

A Second Chance Chapter 219

I received an amazing number of reviews on this chapter and I wanted to share them/address some of them here to show my immense appreciation for those who take the time to drop me a line or two for what I write.

Some of you have decided after this chapter you can no longer follow my story and while it saddens me, I expected it.  I write first for myself and I know where I want this story to go and while I hope you all keep reading it -- I know that not everyone will continue it. 

Devereaux13: I can’t. You really just did that to us? Started this story with a oh! Sirius is gonna live! But NOO u had to frick us all over. Oh my god. I love you for this story but hate you for this story. I cried more this time than the cannon one. Goddamn

Lightningscar: Huh, well, judging from the reviews, this chapter is getting you a lot of heat... personally, I though it was great in many ways, both in action, description of thoughts/feelings and great descriptions of what was going on. My biggest beef, though, gotta be this: *Ginny grabbed Luna's hand and the two of them climbed onto the wolverine's back* Ehm, it is likely it was explained in previous chapters, and if memory serves, Animagi are generally slightly larger than their natural counterparts, but... a wolverine is generally about the same size as a medium dog, shoulder height being around 30-45 cm (12-18 inches), 65–107 cm (26–42 in) long (not counting the tail). Basically, Ginny and Luna are crawling on top of a Spaniel or a Golden Retriever (on the small size) Yes, wolverines are ridiculously strong compared to their size, capable of carrying prey many times its own size... carrying dragging it. One big difference between carrying something in its powerful jaws, compared to carrying something heavy on its back. A few other minor beefs Ehm, why did Voldemort pull a Jafar on the cat (Lady G, was it?) and not outright kill it? So they got giants wandering down mid London without anyone being the wiser? I'm sure you have thought of the logistics about it :) Well, all in all, great chapter. Things have advanced rapidly compared to canon, for better (less Horcruxes) and worse (Ministry bye-bye)... though, in the latter case, it can be interpreted somewhat ambigious. Fallen as in the place (which was a given, seemed to be completely overrun suddenly... makes one wonder where all of the defence forces went, guess we will find out sooner) or if it has fallen as an orginazation like they did in canon. Menna Taha: Ok let me just say.. Sirius was going into battle with the intent to save his son, knowing that his Fiancée who he was very much in love with was pregnant with TWINS. I mean you’d think he would be more careful than in the books where he was reckless, lonely, rusty and under house arrest in a place he hated. Also the ministry fell! Just like that! After all the preparation and the relations with the french, Bulgarian and Russian ministries AND the fae and the army they made AND the warning they recieved! What were they fucking sleeping! I love you please don’t hate me.

They were not sleeping, but they weren’t prepared like they should have been.  It’s a problem that will be addressed.

maximusrexmundi: Eeeeeehhhhh so I was with you until the very end. I just can't imagine a Voldy who is objectively in a weaker position (than in the books) being able to muster a force that could attack and defeat a FULLY prepared ministry who both knew he was coming AND had international allies

Runningtwiceasfast: I have to say I am incredibly impressed with this chapter. I am obviously sad as I was in canon when Sirius died but due to the more uplifting tone of your work overall that you would shy away from a turn like this. Sirius' death is so important in canon a it really is a turning point in the story. Obviously when Cedric died it was sad but Sirius' death made everything all the more real. Your Harry has gotten so much more of a life and childhood than canon Harry but he too is now faced with the reality of life without Sirius. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Joanne: Wow! I’m so sad. I’ve been listening to Led Zeppelin in honour of Siri. I had hoped that this part of canon would be ignored but alas. War is war. Amazing storytelling: you made us feel this loss and that takes talent. I both dread and look forward the next chapter. Will Harry take Ginny with him? Will the breakup occur? Did Remus and Tonks make it out? Will there be a funeral? So many questions! Enjoy your birthday and rest while we all grieve.

Ahugefun: I need you to undo sirius death. Im not joking He shouldnt Not with zee pregnant and harry so attached to him Its not fair to us the readers who enjoyed your story so much andddd already mourned sirius a little bit when he was kissed before you changed that.. Im hoping that you wont kill remus and tonks in the end of the war. U are your own story and if somthing happen in jkr world doesnt mean it should here!

Everything that happens in JKR’s world is what inspired me to write my story so of course it affects it.  Some will be the same, some will not -- includes character death.  Not everyone will die who did in canon, but some will, and some who survived in canon, will die here.

While it'd be hard to swallow, I'd have accepted most of what happened in this chapter if there was an ACTUAL reason, in the story, as to why they weren't able to be told where the diadem was. but there wasn't. The only reason was solely because YOU wanted it that way. And it's your story, fine, but at the very least, there should be a damn good reason WHY, in the story itself, things happen the way they do. It should never...EVER be just because you, the author, want it to happen that way. because then it breaks the immersion of the reader, if something happens solely for the sake of you, the author, having it happen that way. *sighs* To be honest? I'm sorry, but this, this just is too much. You killed off Sirius and had the Ministry fall DESPITE the preparations they had already made, despite the warnings they had. That just...no. I'm sorry, but no. I'm done. Thanks for what was a pretty entertaining story up to this point, but after this? Just nope. It's not worth it. It really isn't.

Sorry to hear that, but again, it is obvious to us the readers where the diadem is, but not to them.  The Grey Lady can be cryptic if she wants as she’s dead and has nothing to lose, it’s up to our heroes to find the answer.  Sorry you feel it’s not worth it, thanks for reading as long as you did.

But then again, this your AU, so you have the final say on what you want to implement. I mean no disrespect, as I know writing is a tough pastime, and you deserve to be commended for the amount of time you put into your AU. So, good luck. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time reading this, then took a sigh of relief when pettigrew died cuz I thought "hey, Sirius will be fine now, he survived!" then wham! I dont think he's really dead dead though. they'll either be a way so that it was polyjuice or maybe they use a time turner. something better happen so that he just appears through the front door/hospital wing and is like "whys everyone so down when my hansome face is here?!" please let it be true, otherwise I dont think I can go on in this cruel world xxx

It's rather a pity that Harry hadn't smashed the Prophecy and grabbed another as a decoy. :-} Oh! What would happen if Harry were to chuck the Prophecy through the arch...? Ah - excellent move, Lady G! :-) Remus was dueling Dolohov? But Harry had Petrified Dolohov just a bit ago... maybe another DE released him, or the spell wore off? So - the Rat did something useful before departing... BTW, a fairly effective dueling technique might be to blast the floor/ground out from under one's opponent. Or merely make it incapable of supporting the opponent's weight. Especially if one is in a structure and not on the bottom floor. I’m sorry that I’ve lost a reader over this, but as I said, I knew he would die from the first chapter.  Harry would be that impulsive because Ginny was kidnapped and there's no way he wouldn't try to save her.  She and Theo may have been able to escape but not unscathed.  I don’t believe that fan fiction is made to “fix” stupid character deaths because the original story is amazing and I’m getting the chance to play with the characters we all love so much and Sirius had a second chance on life and he lived it.

Pettigrew’s death may have been too kind but I think it was an important turning point for him in that he saved Zee for Sirius.

I'm actually weirdly... proud? of you for keeping Sirius's death at this point in the story. In the books it's kind of the point at which Harry has to officially grow up, and realize that even though he's a kid, he's the center of a really vicious war where his actions have very real consequences. And he has no one left to fully protect him either. Even in a fic where Sirius matters a whole lot more, and Harry is gonna be a thousand times more hurt by his death, that moment of change, and of Harry accepting his inevitable place in this fight is really important? So I just wanted to say that as much as I'm really sad about Sirius being gone, because I really did enjoy him getting to be happy for once, i think it's an important moment for the story and I'm really happy that it's one that you kept even in a version of this story that's a lot happier than the original story ever was. I've been wondering how you were gonna handle this moment for a long time now, and although I'm definitely gonna go cry about Sirius's death now, I'm really happy with what you decided to do.

Below the cut will be my reactions, opinions, & spoilers for V’s After Ending episodes & endings. There’s a sprinkling of ~thirst~ & a lot of confusion/screaming throughout. I am afraid I haven’t gone back to proofread the episode reactions, so they’re likely a little messy & misspelled. 

Episode reactions are at the top, separated by episode & endings. Long-winded opinion/discussion about the route itself is at the bottom.

Honestly, I’m glad they’re having this discussion about V keeping all this information to himself about Saeran’s existence & use within Magenta because that’s always had me side-eyeing V HARD. I’m still of the opinion that he should have told at least Seven & Jumin about everything sooner. I get that he wanted to save Rika, but he was responsible for Saeran. I’m still heated.

Jumin Han is so so good, y’all. This conversation between him & Saeyoung is absolutely amazing. He’s doing his best to comfort & protect at the same time. He asked about Saeran. He’s encouraging Saeyoung to live, helping him understand he’ll come out of this pain & find new reasons to live. He’s struggling too, but he’s doing so much to reach out & help Saeyoung.

The line about creating a new family, one without blood ties, broke me.

This feel like it cheapens everything. & why the hell is she calling Rika “Mina”? Is that Rika’s real name & I just forgot?!

IS RIKA LYING? WHY DID SHE WAIT THIS LONG TO TELL SAEYOUNG ABOUT THIS “STURDY ROOM”? COULD SAERAN REALLY BE ALIVE? Or is she trying to trick Saeyoung into leaving the cabin?!

I do enjoy that Yoosung is a very emotional character, even if sometimes in the stories I don’t agree with him. He’s always very open & honest with how he feels, even if taken to extremes.

Jaehee’s discussion with Rika was very rational. As expected.

So this discussion with Saeran is meant to be in her own head, yeah?

Ok her discussion with Saeyoung felt real -ish again but then her discussion with Jihyun sounded bizarre & far-fetched again. So has she just been inside her own head this entire time?

Omg Zen’s robotic reply made me lose my shit. First time I’ve laughed because of this ending.

Sooo... the ending has just been a mock of how a Rika route would have gone if she had one?

Wait this was all just MC’s dream?! Rika’s dream?

& now Rika is in a coma?!? What? What???!! I’m... tired.

You know what, at least Saeyoung & Saeran are back together. Silver lining. The only silver lining to this madness.

Yoosung got a whole new look again. I’ll admit, for a hot second I thought he had become a cult leader & I was worried.

Sooo... the RFA became some sort of support group for Rika’s victims?????

Jumin doesn’t want to be a part of the meetings because he doesn’t particularly subscribe to their efficiency. Zen just doesn’t want to be involved because he doesn’t want the reminder. Jihyun basically just didn’t show up. So is this to mean the RFA has fallen apart entirely? Rename the group, change your ideals, be more open with each other, & formulate new ways to create charity events/fundraisers. Find a new purpose together! PULL. YOURSELVES. TOGETHER.

Ugh. Ugggghhhhhhh.

So, I’ve sat on this for a little under 24 hours. I let it sink in, in hopes that I could make better sense of it. But honestly, I don’t feel like I have. I feel perhaps this after end should have been listed in a separate section like the secret endings. These episodes certainly read more like a secret ending.

Rather than call this “V’s After End” I think it would make more sense to have called this “V’s Route After End” (or even “Rika’s After End”). This ending felt more like a means of giving closure to the route itself, rather than an acknowledgement of Jihyun’s relationship with MC. We were shown Saeran was alive, we were given Saeyoung & Saeran reunited with one another finally, we got answers as to what happened with Rika & how she ended up in Alaska, we found out why Jihyun was really away for two years, we had Saeyoung & Saeran stepping out from the hunting shadow of their father. Questions were answered, resolutions of sorts were given.

When I think of “after end” I’ll admit, I assumed we would be given a short snippet of story revolving primarily around Jihyun & MC post-good end, like we had for the other characters; not this dramatic saga between the end of the route & before Jihyun returns two years later. 

Jihyun’s route revolved around him understanding his relationship with Rika & then distancing himself from that & trying to find himself. His route felt like it had more Jihyun x Rika content than it did Jihyun x MC content. This After End there was hardly any Jihyun x MC content as he was gone essentially the entire time. He really Noped Out of his own After End; I’m still a bit shocked I paid so many hourglasses for V content.... only to not be given V content. I admit, I feel foolish & cheated, somehow. I went in hoping for more content about a character I was interested in, only to be given this dramatic story revolving around a character I don’t particularly care for.

I’m disappointed that there is a Forgive or Judge aspect to this ending. 

In the Forgive path/end, the blame of Rika’s crimes & actions is pinned on Rika’s mental illness, choice individuals swaying her into taking particular actions ( “embrace your devil” ), and various circumstances she’s had to endure & live through. By introducing this new character (Mika?), are we meant to blame her instead of Rika? Is she a scapegoat since the idea was originally hers & not Rika’s, even though Rika was the one that enacted everything? On top of this, Yoosung is shown to be reading a psychology book & also comes to the conclusion that what Rika has done isn’t really her fault, but the fault of her circumstances. All of this feels like we were being ushered into forgiving Rika and feeling guilty if we don’t. Provided you do choose to forgive Rika, she finds her own inner happiness, becomes “her own sun”, and goes off to live her life in Alaska; no consequences aside from distance (physical & emotionally) from her once friends/family & developing a negative public appeal. This forgive path directly ties in with Jihyun’s good end, implying it’s the better (intended?) ending. That doesn’t sit well with me. MC shouldn’t have to forgive their captor & tormentor in order to achieve their own “good” end. 

In the Judge path/end, the other characters often show hesitancy when MC expresses she will never be able to forgive Rika. There are philosophical chats about what is actually good vs bad, what is just, & who is to decide these sort of standards. We are led to question if holding on to a grudge hurts ourselves or the other party more. And in the end, when we choose to judge Rika, the RFA falls apart; everyone is miserable. Again, the reader is left feeling as if their judgement was too harsh, too cruel, or uncalled for as the consequences of it have seeped out & negatively touched other people. Rika falls into a coma – doesn’t go off to live her life in Alaska, doesn’t find her own inner peace – & this is all because she was blamed or shunned for her actions, as opposed to being forgiven. Why does everyone’s happiness depend on MC forgiving her captor?  It all left a sour taste in my mouth.

I understand the discussion of what is truly good vs bad or what is meant to be just & unjust can go fairly deep, but I feel that discussion applies only to circumstances that are in a grey area. What Rika did (attempted murder, abuse, emotional & physical manipulation, drugging/brainwashing) is clear cut wrong. There is no question that these are bad decisions. It should not be up for debate whether these sorts of actions are “good or bad.” While I do not deny that Rika’s past (whatever it fully may be as I have not read her backstory DLC) has attributed to her behaviors, it does not excuse them. I believe that mental illness does not excuse someone’s actions.

These are two very extreme endings - either Rika gets off free from her actions or she becomes comatose & succumbs to a darkness. Why have these drastic differences when you can merge the two; have Rika go through treatment to help her, serve a punishment that is fitting of her crimes, help her grow & understand, then have forgiveness come later? There were several options within gameplay along the lines of “I hope one day I can forgive her” & “I hope she finds her peace.” I see nothing wrong with not having MC forgive Rika but still wish for progress to be made.

Everyone was happier in the end where you forgave Rika, though. And isn’t that what everyone wanted in the end?

Overall, I didn’t mind Yoosung & Zen portraying the voices that provide the philosophical discussions in the routes and this After End. In fact, I enjoyed the chats with them as I tend to find philosophical discussions thought provoking, even if I do not always agree with what these characters were expressing. While MM is marketed as a visual novel romance, it has never shied away from delving into deeper topics & oftentimes tries to provide a lesson. Perhaps this time, the lesson they hoped to get across, didn’t hit the mark with me.

Yoosung’s emotions were very extreme in this After End. I have come to expect Yoosung being very up front, unapologetic, & pushy with his feelings. In a game where so many characters are often keeping secrets, it’s almost refreshing to have a character that is so viscerally open. Personally, I found it interesting that Yoosung’s feeling towards Rika had flipped so drastically. It was almost as if he was now trying to overcompensate for his previous idolization of her. 

I’m still of the opinion that the world does not deserve Jumin Han. Through his own pain & suffering, through dealing with the disappearance of his dearest friend, through having to come to terms with the fact that a woman he once considered a close friend turned out to be someone so villainous, he has stepped up & even at one point risked his own company, reputation, & livelihood to protect someone he now considered family. He used his time & resources to help as much as he could. He sat & genuinely listened to Saeyoung & calmly gave input despite Saeyoung verbally lashing out at him. I’ll admit I hated that Jumin seemingly became an alcoholic, or at least heavily dependent on wine, during the stretch of time these After Ends covered. He was suffering, but because he needed to keep his shit together, he used liquor as his means of turning off his brain so he wouldn’t think too heavily about what was happening, otherwise he’d spiral. You can bet your ass that every time there was an option to choose “How is Jumin doing?” I took it, because this man needs someone to look out for him while he’s busy looking after everyone else. I love him. He remains my favorite. 

I am thrilled Saeran is alive. I am ecstatic Saeyoung & Saeran got the reunion I had been hoping for (& in both endings!). The doctor part of me really wishes his treatment & recovery occurred in a hospital, instead of some nature tour with Jihyun while wearing Jedi robes, but beggars can’t be choosers in fiction, I suppose. I am glad Saeran is safe, recovering, had the time to heal his relationship with Jihyun, & is living with Saeyoung now. It’s what I wanted for him.

On one hand, I can see why Jihyun kept Saeran being alive a secret (Saeran wasn’t ready to see Saeyoung yet, he was detoxing, he needed more recovery time, he needed the peace away from everything, if Saeyoung knew he would have gone after them immediately rather than wait for some time to pass) but on the other hand, I had had enough of the secrets. I am glad though that the story allowed for Saeyoung to have some hope that Saeran was alive. If the narrative had left no suggestion of hope & Saeyoung had fallen into a depression of sorts, then I feel when Saeran was finally revealed he [Saeyoung] may have not handled it as well. But Saeyoung was given a chance to hope, to grow, to finally relax/settle where he was, & was allowed time himself to recover from everything that happened, which I think helped in how he received Saeran’s reappearance.

Definitive proof that Vanderwood has grown to care about Saeyoung as a person?! Sign me the fuck up. That was amazing. I greatly enjoy Vanderwood.

With Saeyoung, I did enjoy seeing his range of emotion & reactions to this entire ordeal. He was desvasted, broken, distraught, angry. My heart went out to him & I felt his pain. His monologues were great. His reactions felt real. It was a bit jarring to see how readily he was contemplating suicide & how quickly he cast that aside as soon as some other bit of info to cling to came along. I understand, though, that this story took place in a short amount of time & the creators were trying to portray his progression in the time they had. I am tickled that he was offered a 10 year contract with C&R & that he readily accepted. I have enjoyed seeing him begin to accept that he can plant roots somewhere, open up to those around him, & not fear that he’ll one day have to leave.

I was originally miffed that Jihyun went off for two years on his own, seemingly to get over Rika, making MC wait around, before he could commit himself to MC. Knowing now that those two years were actually spent helping to rehabilitate Saeran in seclusion, I am assuaged. A bit.

I am, however, left feeling as though maybe MC isn’t meant to be with Jihyun. I’ve certainly felt as if there is more push to have Jihyun x Rika remain together as Cheritz still doesn’t give, what I would consider, adequate bonding & development between Jihyun x MC (not that 11 days of story in any of the routes could be described as adequate bonding time, lolol). Majority of Jihyun’s scenes (in his route) are about him reminiscing about his past with Rika, rather than discussions that may cultivation a budding relationship with MC. I like Jihyun, but it feels likes it’s been made intentionally hard to romance him. Maybe it was naive of me to hope we would get cute scenes of Jihyun & MC getting to know one another more, or be shown ways Jihyun made it up to MC for being gone for so long, or even a mini date story, or actually seeing the proposal happen, or even a kiss? But I did hope for all of that, so I can’t pretend I’m not sad we didn’t getting to see it. The romance between Jihyun & MC feels brushed aside, like an afterthought, & I was hoping that this After End would finally put it at the forefront of the story told.

While I don’t like how the situation with Rika was handled in either route, & while this After End was not at all what I was expecting (I just wanted to kiss Jihyun, omg), it wasn’t a total loss for me since the twins are reunited & happy, which I think may have been my biggest wish. The voice acting as phenomenal & I can tell how much time & effort Cheritz put into creating this mammoth, complex & thought-provoking story. I’ll be honest & admit that I am upset I spent so many hourglasses for content that seemed packaged as Jihyun content but turned out to be more about Rika, but nothing can be done about that now. 

If I had to pick an ending I preferred, it would definitely be the Forgive End, as there is more happiness for everyone I care about when it concludes. It was nice seeing Jihyun & MC have their little family, even if it was a very brief interaction. Their adoption of a little girl feels like a nod to Rika, of sorts. Perhaps that isn’t what Cheritz intended, & maybe there is no hidden meaning to why they adopted at all, but I am happy to see Jihyun & MC having brought a child into their home to create a family with.

The CGs are beautiful. Is there even a way to unlock the title page Jihyun proposal CG? I didn’t get it in my play-through at all. 

I didn’t hate this After End, but I definitely didn’t love it either. I guess it kind of falls in a strange floaty grey middle area for me, somewhat flat. Hopefully many of y’all enjoyed it! I look forward to seeing what they may give us for Saeran’s After End. I have a feeling that may be a wild story too.

Gamble

Today I felt like the character from my story so that’s probably why I ended writing it.

The night was still young. People were still roaming the streets of Chicago, some looking for fun, some for love, some were just hanging out with their friends but he was out on the streets for a different reason. Strange things were happening to him since this morning. Things that he didn't think were even possible.

Ever since he got up in the morning he felt strange. The world around him felt strange but he couldn't quite figure out what was wrong. He got out of bed and his alarm clock was missing. 

'That seems a bit weird.' He thought but quickly moved on. He went to the closet to get dressed. Half asleep he put on a pair of pants and looked for his favorite T-shirt whit the Jack Daniels logo. He looked and looked and couldn't find it. His closet was full of fancy shirts, jackets, and shoes. 'These are not my clothes. What's going on?' He looked down and saw the pants he put on. They looked like they cost thousands of dollars.

"Yes! Big score!!" He heard a female voice. But how? He lives alone. It seemed like the voice was coming from above him. He picked out a shirt and shoes and got dressed. He hurried out of his room and started to look around his apartment. Something was strange. The layout of the apartment was normal but some of his things weren't there, they were replaced with different stuff or just gone.

"Where's my stuff? Who the hell would take a hood ornament of a car, for fricking sake?" He picked up his phone to call the police. He grabbed the phone but he couldn't pick it up. "What the hell?" Confused and angry he didn't know what to do.

"Twelve. You must walk there." He heard a male voice.

"No that's not fair!" The female voice shouted. He had enough. He rushed out of his apartment and got out of the building. After some time of walking, he stopped. "Why am I walking? I have a car. Who even walks in LA?" As he realized this, he also realized that he didn't know where he was walking to. All around him he saw a bunch of shops and pawnshops.

"Nine. Not enough for fancy shops. These are the items you can buy in the pawnshops. Chose one out of these." Again the male voice giving orders. This one started to get on his nerves.

"I chose... This one!" The female voice made a choice. 

"I'm not listening to you!" He shouted standing in the street. A man bumped into him and pushed him into a pawnshop.

"The hell!!!" He shouted. He went for the door trying to get out but the door wouldn't budge. The pawnshop owner came towards him and tapped his shoulder. 

"Here a friend left this for you." The pawnshop owner gave him a gun. 

"No! I don't want it. I never..." The pawnshop owner ignored him, put the gun in his hand and walked away.

"Didn't you hear me? I don't want it!" He shouted but the pawnshop owner disappeared. He tried the door again and, this time, the door opened.

As he walked out on the street he heard the male voice again. "Two. No luck. Let's see... A car or a van?" He could hear a smug smirk in the male voice.

"I choose the van. I know how the car ends." The female voice said. 

A black van braked right beside him, the door of the van opened, two men came out and hit him on the head. As they were pulling him inside the van he lost consciousness.

"Finally my luck changed." As he woke up, head hurting like hell, he could hear the female voice. 

"Yea. Good for you. Crazy skank!" He yelled, feeling so angry right now. "What's whit this day? Who's toes did I step on?" He tried to get up, his head still throbbing from the hit earlier, but his hands and feet were tied.

"What in the name of..." As he started to free himself. the bindings on his arms and legs broke.

‘At least my kidnapers are incompetent. Now I just have to get out of here.’ He walked out of the room silently, stopped and listened. There were no sounds, so he started walking carefully. He was in a small smelly apartment. There was no one but him here and the door to the apartment was open wide. "Seems my luck changed to."

He walked out and ran out of the building. What he saw shocked him. The sky was dark purple, the ground dark blue. "I am not in LA anymore. That’s for sure." He stood in the street, if you can call it that, wide eyed trying to figure out where he was.

"Twenty. Yea your luck changed. Let's see what's in store." The annoying male voice was here too.

"I got a warp anywhere I want. Ha!" The female voice was also starting to get on his nerves. 

"Did she say warp? What's in hell's bell's is a warp?" As soon as he said that, the world around him started spinning and he heard a *pop* sound. As the spinning stopped he heard another *pop* sound and saw a normal city around him. It was night, the rain was pouring but at least the sky and the ground were back to normal.

‘Ok. Where am I now? This doesn't look like LA but at least it's a start.’ He saw a man standing at an intersection and started to walk over to him to ask him where he is. The man looked a little off. He was​ wearing a trench coat and a hat like the mobsters wore in the golden age of mafia. He chuckled a bit, he was dressed so fancy and the man was dressed like a mobster . He didn't know why but the mafia look always seemed silly to him.

He caught up with the man and tapped his shoulder. "Hey pal! Can you tell me the name of the city we are in?" 

The man turned around, looked at him funny and sad "Chicago." 

That couldn't be right. "You sure?" He asked baffled. 

"Yea you fathead. Leave me alone!" The man walked away leaving him standing in the pouring rain. 

"I'm in Chicago and that man was dressed like a mobster! This can't be good! I need a drink..."

"Three. Awww... Maybe a change of luck again. Ha? Ha!" He wanted to shout at the male voice. He wanted to curse at it.

“You are so mean. Don’t tease me like that meany. So what are my options?” The female voice just made it to his blacklist. 

“You both are starting to piss me off! Shut it!!!” He had enough of the voices. He decided to ignore them from now on. He saw a bar across the street and walked towards it.

He entered the bar. He was angry, tired and thirsty as hell. Not to mention that his favorite T-shirt was missing. That angered him even more. He looked at the people in the bar. They were all dressed like mobsters. Even the bartender was dressed like he came from the mafia period. ‘That’s new.’ he thought to himself. He remembered the pawnshop and the gun. ‘Oh no... Where’s the gun. Don’t let them see the gun.’ as the thoughts about the gun occupied his attention, he didn’t realize he was unconsciously touching his pockets. The men in the bar stopped what they were doing and looked at him suspiciously.

He never had or used a gun, so when his hand reached the pocket with the gun inside he accidentally pulled the trigger missing his foot by a few inches. The mobsters stood up, pulled out their own guns and pointed them at him. ‘So many guns! So many guns! I’m gonna die!...’ The thoughts just repeated over and over in his head.

“Come on. Get it over with.” He heard the male voice again. 

‘NOT NOW!’

“Ok. Come on luck!” The female voice was excited. 

‘NOT NOW YOU PESTS!!!’

“Yes! Thirteen!! Is that enough?” The female voice excitedly asked. 

“Yes it is, just barely. Hm... You and your luck.” The male voice almost sounded disappointed.

He ignored the voices. There were just too many guns pointed at him. He ran out of the bar but the mobsters ran after him. He ran as fast as he could, pushing the people roaming the streets away, trying to lose his new mafia fanclub. He heard a gunshot and felt a sharp pain in his left shoulder. His new fanclub was catching up. ‘I must find a place to hide.’  

“Twenty. Boy, your luck is all over the place today.” He ignored the male voice. He started to look around and saw an opened door. There was no time, he had to escape the mobsters. He ran through the door and quickly closed it behind him, hoping the mobsters didn’t see where he hid.

A few minutes passed ad noting happened. Nobody was banging on the door. He turned around leaning his back against it. He opened his eyes and saw his apartment, the one in LA. He couldn’t believe his eyes so he closed them ‘No way. This can’t be possible. I was in Chicago in the golden age of mafia a few minutes ago!’ He opened his eyes again. Yes, it was his apartment, he was wet from the Chicagos pouring rain but somehow he was in his apartment.

“Yes! I win! I’m the only one that made it back alive at my starting point in the game. Woooohoooo!!” The female voice sounded so happy and smug.

He got up and started to undress throwing his wet clothes on the floor. The voices were gone and so was the sharp pain in his shoulder. As he looked around his apartment everything seemed to be back to normal. Even his favorite Jack Daniels T-shirt was here. At that moment the words of the female voice sank in.

‘Did she say game? ’

I just wanted to explain that although it seems the main character has free will and does what he wants he is a character in a game that is controlled by a girl, the number she gets by rolling the dice and actions she chooses as his next moves. The stuff that happens to him like running in the streets are a part of the game completing the next move the girl chose. The male voice is something like a dungeon master from D&D but this is not a game of D&D.

In my story the main character hears voices of the dungeon master and the girl controlling him. He doesn’t hear everything only when they are talking about him and actions related to his next moves.

The rule of the game is simple. You start at a certain point, you move your character across the board by rolling dice (the board can be real or fictional, it’s up to the players, the one in the story was fictional). You win the game if your character makes it back to the starting point alive.

What the kids playing the game don't know is that their characters are not imagined characters. Their characters are real people that live in the same world as they, the players, do. So if a character in the game doesn’t make it to the starting point it means he gets killed in the game and in real life.

Game Lysandre is one of the most poorly done characters and is only loved due to ship potential, and the incredible work the fans have done especially those who watch the anime in bringing the good points of his character to light. 

First I want to clarify that some of this lies on the games too. Mechanically X&Y were fun games, story wise they were an utter mess. I’m convinced something happened during the production of this game but that’s another rant. But yeah some of this isn’t on Lys because the games he was in also poorly handled story. 

But focusing on him his motivations and goals were an utter mess. When I play through a pokemon game the villain’s reasoning and story are usually something that develops with the story. Also they can be summed up kind of like the way Inigo Montoya sums up his character motivations.

Giovanni: “hi my name is Giovanni I want Mewtwo to basically control the word mafia style. try to stop me.”

Maxie/Archie: “hi my name is Maxie/Archie I want to make more land/make more water because I think it will help the world. Also I don’t understand consequences or the environment.”

You get the point.

In the games of X&Y every time we see Lysandre he seems to be angrily ranting to one of his friends and ends up feeling like that one guy in the friend group that’s normally cool, but sometimes goes into this weird theorist shiz that no one asked for and everyone just kind of tolerates. And his motivations kind of wind and twist in such a weird way it’s really difficult to pin point what he’s doing and why it just seems mismatched as frick. Seriously to sum up his Inigo Montoya line it’d goLysandre: Hi I’m Lysandre, I wish there was a way to help everyone in the world due to a lacking degree of resources, but ya know also only those who can pay into my club are allowed to live. Oh I forgot pokemon have to die, I know that didn’t happen originally when this machine was fired, but like that has to happen this time around. By the way I kidnapped this guy, mind pressing this button to see if the machine fires or not? Just do it, and no I’m not going to explain why or how this relates to my character at all.

And yet the anime version of him has a clear plan, explains said plan well, and his motivations are made much more clear. Like he has a genuine flashback to explain this shiz, and he grows with all of the characters on screen so that his motivations are compelling. the other sad thing is I only say about 40 minutes of the anime cause I wanted to see how they handled him and in 20 I understood Lysandre’s character far more than I did after playing all of X&Y

Now if we do the ingot Montoya line to this Lysandre 

Lysandre: “Hi I’m Lysandre I used to have faith in humanity till I realized I was being conned out of my money by many of the people I was giving money to as charity, and now I’ve decided to write off a majority of humanity. I plan on using mass murder to do so.”

Paladins Kissing Headcanons

Hey y’all! In honor of the amazing season 7 of Voltron, I've decided to do some fluff overdose kissing headcanons for some of the characters!

Lance Mcclain:

- As much as he wants everyone to believe that he is a romance pro, he’s only kissed one person in his entire life before and that is because of some stupid spin the bottle game he played when he was like 12.

- Let’s just say that it didn’t end that well.

- He secretly hates himself for doing it, because now he’s disappointed that his first kiss wasn’t special or with someone he loved.

- (yes, he is that much of a sap, thank you very much).

- I feel like Lance would be one who really enjoys non-lips kisses.

- Now, don’t get me wrong, he absolutely adores kissing your lips, but his inexperience just makes him really self-conscious about it.

- He’s afraid that he might do something wrong and then you’d be disgusted and never want to kiss him ever again.

- Even though he may be exaggerating, he’s not risking it.

- Back to the non-lips kisses; He just finds them really intimate.

- When you cuddle, he loves pressing lingering kisses to your forehead or temple.

-And when you’re face to face he leaves a short smooch on the tip of your nose, just to see your face scrunch up in that cute way it always does.

- When he’s feeling playful, he pampers your whole face with small kisses, until you’re both laughing too much to be able to continue.

- He is totally someone that would leave these long and sloppy cheek kisses with a loud and exaggerated “muah!” whenever he’s trying to annoy you.

- But he’s so sweet how can he annoy anyone tbh.

- With Lance, neck kisses always turn him into a horny, blushing mess, so don’t do that unless you’re up for some sexy times.

-Most of the time (especially at the start of your relationship), you’ll be the one to initiate lip kisses.

- Play with his hair, I’m begging of you, he adores it.

- His lips are extremely soft and slightly plump, so it truly compensates with his initial awkwardness.

- No, really, his kisses feel like they’re sent from heaven because of this.

- What kind of magical chapstick is this boy using??

Keith Kogane:

- Someone please help this boy.

- He is somehow even more clueless about this than Lance and that says a lot.

- I’m sorry to say this and, as much as I adore Keith, he is a terrible kisser.

- He knows that your lips have to touch but??? what happens after that?? he has no idea.

- The first time you kissed him (yes, of course you initiated the kiss, this boy couldn’t even dream of trying to kiss you), he went rigid and his face flushed redder than his armor.

- He might have accidentally kept his eyes opened the whole time. (he totally did).

- It was such an awkward experience, because, as he literally forgot to kiss back, you thought that he didn’t like you that way and that you’ve ruined your friendship and oh god.

- He eventually just stops your blabbering of apologies and admits that he has never been in a relationship before, so therefore he has no idea how to kiss.

- But you know that everything can be learned with a little bit of practice, right? ;)

- When he gets more comfortable with giving and receiving affection, Keith loves kissing you!

- His lips are thin and slightly rough and chapped, but even so his kisses feel really passionate.

- The feeling of his lips grazing your skin ever-so-slightly while his hot breath fanning against you is something you truly cannot get enough of. 

- He loves nuzzling his head into the crook of your neck from behind and leaving small and sloppy kisses, especially while you're working on something.

- He loves you hands: holding them, kissing them, putting them against his cheek, rubbing his thumb in soft, comforting circles on them.

- It distracts him from his problems and helps him relax.

- It's basically the only PDA he approves of, but it's just the sweetest thing.

- If you accept training with him (good luck, his exercises are hell), he would totally be the type to give you short kisses in between exercises.

- He calls them rewards for you, but we all know who they are really for.

Katie Holt (Pidge):

- She has never kissed before either and yet she's still better at it than Lance.

- I wouldn't say she is self conscious or something, she just isn't one for PDA. She prefers affection behind closed doors, just like Keith.

- So when she kisses your cheek in public it is pretty much a miracle.

- She usually likes to cuddle when you're alone of course and then she sometimes kisses your face in places like forehead, temple and cheeks.

- She also likes and it's the cutest thing ever to be kissed on her forehead, she finds it really reassuring.

- Take her glasses off and and gently lift up her bangs and then kiss her she will m e l t on the spot.

- Now, about lip-to-lip kisses, the first time you kissed, she acted like she knew what she was doing, so naturally she kissed back.

- But after you separated, all she said was a soft, breathless 'woah' and then pecked your lips again, and again.

- She really enjoys kisses, but she wants all of them to be special, so it's not a frequent sight.

- Also, she gets extremely flustered when you put your head in the crook of her neck and tell her sweet words.

- This usually happens when she refuses to go to sleep and stays up all night to work on something.

- Let's just say that you distract her too much for her to be able to continue working, so Pidge finally gets a good night's sleep.

- By the way, to get her to fall asleep, all you have to do is play a little with her hair and she's gone, okay?

- Her body is surprisingly warm so she makes an amazing cuddle companion (if you ever succeed at getting her to cuddle with you, damn that workaholic pigeon).

- Her lips are pretty thin, but admirably soft and every time she kisses you they stretch out into a tender and genuine smile.

- She literally cannot kiss you without smiling, funking dork. :")

- She's an angel, a sassy angel, protecc the frick out of her please.

Hunk Garrett:

- He is the sweetest boy and, to be honest, him and Matt Holt's ponytail saved me from the sadness of season 7.

- He hasn't kissed many people before, but he's pretty much a natural at it.

- He is a little shy about PDA at first, but it takes him almost no time to warm-up.

- After that he absolutely loves kissing you in public!
