To continue with my ventting.
I can't remember which blog said this, but they said something along the lines that it will take time for Chris to rebuild his career once this shitshow is over. They were talking about how this shitshow has gone on for so long and how bad the situation has gotten that it is now even starting to affect the general public's opinion of him.
This shitshow has gone on for far too long and is so bad that personally, I don't know if the fandom will ever recover, but it will definitely not ever be the same. The fandom was divided into many factions because of this mess that Chris created. Chris willingly chose to allow his fandom to be used, to be gaslighted, and to be labeled as crazy by his team. He allowed his POS, lazy ass leech of a brother to call his fans crazy. Chris has used his fans for many years, but this time, he went too far. I honestly don't know if he will have as large and as devoted fandom ever again. The fan base that supported him through thick and thin, that went to bat for him when the leaked dick pic was accidentally released and pretty much saved him, I believe that is gone for good. Chris will never have that support from the fandom ever again, in my opinion. There has been too much hurt, too much disrespect, and too much division for there to be the level of loyalty that once existed when that dick pic surfaced. I blame Chris and his team for that.
I'm waiting for this crap of a PR stunt shitshow to end. After that, who knows. I will say this it will take a long time for Chris to build his career and his fan base. He may successfully rebuild his career, but I highly doubt he will have the fan support he once had. And that is on him. He has no one else to blame but himself.
I hope that when this is over and done with, Chris will seek out a highly qualified and reputable therapist and has done the help he needs. I also hope he fires his entire team, CAA, Meghan, and especially Ilaria. I hope he finds a really good, decent agency to represent him and an agent with a strong moral compass who won't let this shitshow happen again. I hope he gets rid of all of his friends who are leeches, starting with Tara,Jamie Chung, and Mark Kassman. I hope he sets boundaries with those friends he chooses to keep in his life. I hope he financially cuts off his brother Scott. He's done way too much for that POS. At the very least, I hope he has it out with Scott and sets a timeline with Scott, telling Scott to move his ass to NYC, go to auditions on Broadway, and has 2 years to make it on Broadway and then he will cut him off. I really hope Chris does the hard work to better himself as a person and as an actor. Chris has no excuse not to get therapy. He comes from a financially affluent family. He is a millionaire several times over, thanks to his days with Marvel, so he has the means to get therapy. He has dealt with his issues by drinking too much, smoking tobacco cigarettes, smoking weed, and has been rumored to have tried cocaine or used cocaine. These aren't healthy, helpful, or productive ways to deal with his anxiety or other issues he may have. He needs to get help. More importantly, he has to want to get better. I really hope he chooses to get better and gets help. I also hope that one day, he publicly admits what he has done and sincerely apologizes to his fans.
As for me, when this shitshow ends, I will be relieved to finally see the end. After that, I don't know. I do know that for now and for a long time to come, I won't be spending any of my hard earned money on any of his work, nothing. As of right now, the last film of his I watched was The Gray Man. I have never been to a CC, and I doubt I will go to one he's involved in. I don't know if I will ever watch or support any of his future works.
I always side eyed Chris. I never truly bought into the image that Disney and his team created, especially when he got involved with his married Gifted Co star. I refuse to say her name because she is a POS. if you know the history of their relationship and what her SM media was like before the cleanup, you'll know why I don't like her.
I understand that Chris is a loyal person to his friends and family, but at some point, you have cut off toxic people. I have had to do this with many of my aunts and uncles, first cousins, and other family members. I'm the process of distancing myself from my sister because I've had enough of her disrespectful attitude towards me. So, I understand how hard it can be to set boundaries with family and friends and to cut ties with toxic people, but he is going to have to do that if he is going to lead a healthy life.
I am a fan of Sebastian Stan. He is #1 for me. Chris has always been second place. Sebastian, in my opinion, has always been the superior actor of the two. He has also, in my opinion, been the better human being of the two. I am so happy that all of Sebastian Stan's hard work and dedication to his craft is finally getting him the recognition he so richly deserves.
Thank you for creating this safe space to vent. It is very much appreciated.

Too Late: Nadja & Alec (Commission for miner249er)
Second chapter of @miner249er ‘s commission!
Chapter Summary: The TVi News Special with hosts Nadja Chamack and Alec Cataldi
Previous Work
Last Chapter                                       Next Chapter
“Don’t be bemused, it's just the news! I’m Nadja Chamack and I am joined today with Alec Cataldi. Today’s hour special brought to you by this studio is ‘The Protector Really Paris’s Protector?’ This has been a hot debate amongst blogs, forums, and many more platforms. We bring you not only the public opinion but never before seen footage of the Protector.” Nadja gave her standard intro and she tried to put as much energy in it as she could but as soon as the words left her mouth she felt sick. If the words had tastes they would have been ash. She knew her studio wasn’t the best, her akumatization was a shining example of that, but her studio teaming up with Alec Cataldi? That was bad news waiting to happen. They sprung this whole ‘special’ on her only hours before so Nadja hadn’t even been able to warn Sabine and Tom about it.
Ever since she was a little girl Nadja knew she wanted to be on TV. At first she thought she wanted to be an actor, she never thought she would become a reporter but when she did she fell in love with it. Following a story and being the one to let everyone know about it, it was a rush she sought for years. Then she had Manon, she still chased stories but she liked to think she had toned down the recklessness people told her she had before, but then Ladybug and Chat Noir showed up and her bosses demanded more of her. More shots of their fights, more close-ups of akumas, interviews with akumas, interviews with the victims, interviews with the heroes, the workload just got steeper and steeper. Of course Nadja was grateful for her city’s heroes, more than anything, Hawkmoth wasn’t just some silly villain like many thought, like her studio thought, he was a terrorist plain and simple and he had covered Paris in a blanket of fear.
Then one day he was gone, along with his accomplice Mayura, but with them was the disappearance of a girl that Nadja cared for deeply. Marinette Dupain-Cheng, she had met the girl when she was a tiny little thing, a little younger than Manon when Nadja had first visited Tom & Sabine’s Boulangerie Patisserie. Nadja had been just starting out at her studio at that time and she had just gotten through her first broadcast so she thought why not buy herself a little reward? A producer at the studio had actually been the one to suggest Tom & Sabine’s, she had been raving about their cakes and tarts so Nadja decided to see if they really were worth all the hype. No surprise here that they really were. What really made that day memorable besides the tasty treats was the little girl who came up to her and held out a hand to her shyly, she had never been great with kids but she did the only thing she could think of and put her hand out.
That was when she had gotten her first ‘Marinette Original’ as her parents had taken to calling her creations. It was a little hair clip with a bow on it, the bow was clearly taped onto the clip but it was precious all the same. She fondly remembered Sabine lightheartedly scolding her daughter for just making someone take something from her instead of asking if they wanted it but it was obvious the little girl didn’t fully understand. Nadja had laughed and laughed and had thanked the girl, she still had that clip, but now she had to keep it in a safe due to thieves who called themselves “modest collectors.” It pained her to see people forget the name Marinette Dupain-Cheng and only remember her as Paris’s last akuma, the Protector. It was hard enough trying to explain to Manon why mommy had to talk about Marinette on the news so much, it was harder to lie to her about when or if Marinette would come back.
Manon had taken to writing letters for Marinette to ask her to come back because she missed her. Nadja had to call into work that day, in the early hours of the morning, Manon had awoken from a nightmare and had been crying. Nadja had gone into her daughter’s room to console her when Manon caught her off guard by asking if the reason Marinette wasn’t coming back was because Manon had been bad the last time Marinette had babysat her. It had taken a long time to convince Manon that that wasn’t the case, and when Nadja got a moment alone she let herself cry and pray to anyone listening to bring Marinette back home to them.
“What do you think Nadja?” Alec’s voice ripped Nadja from her memories abruptly.
“Well-,” She started keeping her face calm though inside she was stressing, she hadn’t been paying attention to what Alec had been discussing.
“If you ask me those kids are as bad as Hawkmoth was! The talk about what happened in that classroom is all the evidence I need.” Oh so he was talking about Marinette’s classroom, or as they have been dubbed, The Akuma Class.
“That’s not evidence Alec, and you should know since you host one of the most watched shows on television, Alternative Truth.”
“That’s right Nadja! Where everything isn’t always true, but nothing is really false! But really, what is your opinion on the akuma class being the reason behind the akuma The Protector?” Alec asked as he turned to face Nadja, though not fully so the cameras would still get a good shot of him. “Many have said they were at school that day and the Protector was there to speak her truth!”
“I...I know I don’t speak for every akumatized person out there Alec, but I do know someone can be akumatized for anything. If the rumors of what went on in that class, in that school are true, then it’s no wonder Mlle Dupain-Cheng was akumatized. I don’t know if anyone would have been able to withstand that treatment.” That was the answer she settled on, she didn’t want to feed any fires and she certainly didn’t want her studio to know she knew what happened in the classroom since Sabine told her everything. Nadja swore she would do her best to keep it off-air, this was her best she reasoned to herself even if she didn’t believe it.
“Too true Nadja! I mean we’ve all seen how many times M Pidgeon got akumatized, or even Gigantitan. A literal baby. One has to wonder how sane Hawkmoth really was, which leads me to a juicy rumor! That our own resident hermit fashion designer Gabriel Agreste was the one and only Hawkmoth.” Alec announced with his usual flair and Nadja, not for the first time by any means, had to wonder how he didn’t get sued, or if he did how he never was scared of the possibility.
“That is quite the rumor Alec. Is there any legs for it to stand on?” She asked per her vague instructions given by the studio's director.
“Glad you asked Nadja! We have a video of The Protector going into the Agreste Mansion and after a period of time, leaving. Now we don’t know what happened inside but hours later we had you and your team there at the mansion along with other news stations when M Agreste and his assistant Mlle Nathalie Sancoeur were brought out of the mansion on stretchers. Then not long after, in your words,’ a dazed Mme Agreste was spotted coming out of the house.’ That was after the police search!” Nadja had to hand it to Alec, he sure knew how to run his mouth.
“I do remember that day. But how is that connected to Hawkmoth?” Now she was genuinely curious about what he was insinuating.
“Think about it Nadja, why would the Protector, an akuma who proclaimed to protect the innocent, go into the Agreste Mansion. Then later it is found that M Agreste and his assistant just so happened to be “attacked.” From the footage we have of the two on stretchers, they were in bad shape and the only one who visited them was the Protector! After that we haven’t heard from Hawkmoth or Mayura. Plus the Protector promised she would get rid of Hawkmoth for the people of Paris.”
“So you don’t believe it was just a random attack that happened at the same time that an akuma was loose in Paris?”
“I’m not saying that. I’m just saying that there are a lot of big coincidences. And I’m not saying definitively that Gabriel Agreste was Hawkmoth, but the rumors do make a compelling case! He had the time to himself to akumatize anyone he pleased, he had a partner, if we are inferring that Mlle Sancoeur was Mayura, and he had a motive. But again this is all speculation.”
“Speculation. Right.” Nadja could feel a familiar sense of dread in her stomach, in her chest, in her throat as she got ready to segway into her part of the special. Her and Alec would continue to go back and forth on their subjects but Nadja had been wary since they started. “Speaking of possible secret identities, recent evidence has shown us that...that may just confirm the popular rumor and theory that Marinette Dupain-Cheng, The Protector, was actually our one and only Ladybug.”
Nadja hadn’t wanted to believe it, that Marinette was Ladybug, not because she couldn’t see the girl as their hero, but because it made too much sense and that scared her. It scared her because it meant they had all placed their lives in the hands of a teenager, they had placed a responsibility that only adults should have to handle, on a child. They took a normal childhood away from her, or as normal as it could be with a villain who preyed upon emotions but the point still stood. It was weird, before Marinette had disappeared, if Nadja had seen a picture of her and Ladybug next to each other she would have said they were obviously different people, but now it was like a slap to the face because of how obviously Marinette was Ladybug and vice versa.
“Now, I know that it is a lot to process,” I’m still processing it, “but let’s go over the evidence and as promised viewers video footage of The Protector in action. This footage was donated to us by an anonymous source who had happened upon The Protector out in the open when she was akumatized. I want to warn everybody, the footage may be shocking to some viewers. Roll the clip please.” Nadja felt like the words shot out of her mouth before she could even think about them but she knew she was supposed to say them so why did they leave such a foul taste in her mouth? She couldn’t even force herself to watch the video a second time, her and Alec had to review every video or post they were going to show on the broadcast and she had barely kept it together then. Now? She felt like she was being held together by cheap scotch tape.
Even if she wasn’t watching the video she could still hear Marinette’s cries, her sobs, she lost the fight as she had a tear fall. She did her best to be discrete as she brought her handkerchief up to blot the tear away but that was a mistake. There on the edge of the handkerchief was Marinette’s signature, she forgot that she had been given it when Manon was born. It was a present from Marinette, the girl had joked it would be a help for all the tears she was crying because she had actually given birth and actually made a tiny human being. The same tiny human being who was distraught that not only was her favorite babysitter gone but Ladybug who she adored. That only caused more tears.
“Wow, you weren’t kidding Nadja...Nadja are you okay?” Alec asked, it was actually the first time she had ever heard or seen him care about anyone else other than himself and she didn’t even know if it was genuine or just for the cameras but it still got to her.
“I’m fine. I’m fine.” She stammered as she wiped her tears before giving the camera a practiced smile. “Now before we discuss everything in that video I will say we do have many more to share so stay tuned Paris!”
As soon as she was given the sign that they were on commercial Nadja couldn’t hold it in anymore, she let herself cry. She had tried to be so strong for Manon, for Sabine and Tom, but it was too much. She was vaguely aware of someone talking to her and pressing a box of tissues into her hands but what snapped her out was her boss’s voice. “Snap out of it Mlle Chamack we have a show to do.”
“Snap out of it?” She asked hollowly, out of her peripheral vision she could see Alec glancing between her and her boss before wiping his hands on his legs and pulling out his phone. “You sprung this on me. You knew I had connections to Marinette and her parents. That’s her name you know? Marinette Dupain-Cheng. She’s not just another akuma, hell she’s not Paris’s last akuma like you have named her! She is a teenager, a little girl! A little girl with a mother and a father who are probably sitting at home watching this wondering why their baby has to be seen like this!”
“The Protector is a public figure, Nadja.” Her boss lamely responded back.
“And what? That makes it right? I have worked here for a long time, I had been pressured to work harder, get the stories, get the results and I did. Never have I felt such shame. I love my job but you make me hate it. She’s a child for crying out loud! Do you not realize that? Ladybug was a child! And all you’re worried about is the story!” Nadja knew she must have sounded hysterical but it was so hard to reign in her emotions once she got started. She knew it wasn’t a rare occurrence nowadays but she hated feeling out of control. “She babysat my daughter, my daughter has been asking me everyday when Marinette, when Ladybug, will come back and I don’t have an answer. But she thinks I do because of how much I report on everything!”
“Nadja...I’m sorry. I didn’t think,” her boss began.
“No you didn’t. And you haven’t. But for once in your life think now. I can’t get through this the way you want me to. I know her, I know her parents and this is probably breaking them. So if you want me to continue reporting, let me do it my way. Or I swear I will take those job offers I have been getting recently and I won’t look back.” Nadja’s voice felt a little hoarse but she didn’t care.
No one spoke for awhile until an intern shakily told them that they would be back on-air soon. Then everything was back in motion. Alec hastily took a drink of his water while Nadja’s makeup artist came out to do touchups, she was very gentle, almost hesitant. Even though everyone was doing their best to relieve the tension in the room, Nadja’s gaze from her boss did not waver, not even for a second, even as he ran a hand over his face. There were murmurs going on, probably about the spectacle she created but she really couldn’t care less.
“...Okay Nadja...You do this how you want to. For what it’s worth, I am sorry.” He finally said.
“I appreciate that.” She breathed out. “When we report on her, please just...say her name. She isn’t the Protector, she isn’t just Ladybug, she’s Marinette Dupain-Cheng and she is still missing. Yes, she was Paris’s last akuma but that’s not all she was. Yes she was Ladybug. Our hero who did everything to keep us safe, even when she was akumatized. She is also a daughter, a granddaughter, a friend. Not an icon. Not a celebrity. So for the love of God have some empathy. Yes we are reporters but we are more than that as well.”
Again it was quite but then there was a chorus of murmured agreements, even from her boss and Alec. She gave a firm nod at everyone as she took a deep breath to steady herself for when the cameras would be turned back to them once more. This time though she would get to talk about Marinette as more than what every other news station, magazine, newspaper, and blog had been painting her out to be. Her and Alec would still do their parts, they would still talk about what they were assigned but Nadja was determined to put more humanity into the special.
“I’m sorry Nadja. I have never thought about it the way you have. I guess I was always in the mindset of the akuma being separate? If that makes any sense?” Alec admitted.
Nadja gave him a sad smile and patted his hand. “It’s okay Alec. I understand...when I was Prime Queen...I didn’t want to believe it was me. For a long time I refused to believe it was me, but it was. The akumas are people and I think it’s time we start acting like it.”
“Yeah...yeah I think you’re right.” Alec mumbled. Nadja wasn’t sure if her words truly did anything, everyone in the TVi studio knew how Alec was, but maybe now that Hawkmoth was gone, maybe everyone could move on and grow.
Nadja turned to face the cameras when the cameraman waved to get their attention and started his countdown, when she knew the cameras were on Nadja gave them the most sincere smile she could. “Welcome back everyone, Nadja Chamack here with Alec Cataldi as we continue our special, ‘The Protector Really Paris’s Protector?’ Before we continue on I would like to start off with I lied before when I said I was fine before the commercial break. I knew Marinette Dupain-Cheng, the one you all like to refer as her akuma name, before I continue on with the rest of my report I would like to tell you about her.”

Fictober 21 - 4 “Fine I give up”
Fanfiction
Fandom: Mass Effect (Actor AU)
Summary: Yep. They fucked - so much for his self control, huh? Now Macen has to deal with the fallout, and more importantly, his feelings. Maybe it wasn’t just sex after all. Did he mention he was bad at ad-lib?
(Don’t worry folks, the confession will come another day... I’m tired, lol.)
---
You know that part where he said he was going to break things off? Yeah… the opposite of that had happened.
Macen was careful to sit up as he glanced across the darkened room. Next to him, fast asleep and burrowed under the covers, was his costar. Alex’s face was peaceful as he wandered through his dreams, like he hadn’t just fucked the turian within an inch of his life. Baby faces were damn deceptive that way, and he was proving to be a fine example.
His body was sore in that way he enjoyed oh so much as he slid out of bed, distributing his weight so he didn’t wake the human up. Naked as the day he was born, he padded to Alex’s shower and got in. Human showers were always too damn cold for him, but it didn’t matter as he let the water pour down his carapace as he stood there, standing at the drain.
“You said you weren’t going to do it again…”
And that promise had crumbled like a sandcastle on the beach the moment Alex had looked at him with that expression. After that, it was a blur of tossed clothing, roving hands, and tongues that were still learning how to play nicely with each other. Part of him was glad he had clipped his talons the day before… but that was like admitting defeat in itself.
Fuck… he had fucked up.
He sighed as he rested his head against the shower wall, praying for the freezing water to snap some sense into him. Macen knew he should leave the moment he was dry and had found his pants, but a large part of him just wanted to go back to bed. They had to be on set early tomorrow. He’d be wasting valuable sleep time if he went back to his place. Besides, Alex was closer…
And they’d risk showing up together.
“No, you’re going home after this. It’ll just mean more coffee tomorrow.”
Yet his voice wavered as he washed the soap disappear down the drain. Even then, he was doubting himself. Right then, it felt like he was fighting a war against an unholy combination of his sex drive and… well he didn’t want to mention the other organ. It shouldn’t have had a say in this in all. Really, if anything, his situation was his brain’s fault. Damn thing had gotten used to the human…
Yeah… he had totally meant his brain.
“Alright, get in there and say goodbye.”
The water shut off and Macen dried off in silence. Still naked, he padded back to the bed. Unsurprisingly, Alex was still fast asleep, hugging a bit of the blanket as he dreamed. He looked so peaceful, that it almost seemed cruel to wake him up.
But… he couldn’t just go without saying anything. They had moved past the fuck and leave point months ago.
“Shit…” Macen’s expletive hissed out from between his teeth as he looked around for his pants. At least those he could find – halfway across the room. What could he say, Alex was an enthusiastic partner. Add in the training, and he had reach. No wonder people kept trying to get him to sign up for friendly biotiball matches. “Just… get them and say goodbye.”
Yet when he reached down, he could see the human’s face better. Something about how soft and quiet he looked did terrible things to his stomach, and his pants dropped to the floor with a soft thump. Unfortunately for him, his belt buckle hit first – the metal clang rang out like a shotgun blast.
Shit…
“Mmm…” Alex rolled onto his stomach and burrowed under the blanket. “S’cold… come back to bed, Macen.”
Now, at the moment the turian was definitely not in a sub headspace. If he had been, that could have explained his compulsion to stay. Yet, there was nothing like that in the moment. Something else was leading him back to the bed he had been trying so hard to avoid. It was a powerful urge, and he had no ability to resist.
“I’m coming…” He slid back in, pulling the cover back over his naked body. As soon as he had settled back in, Alex’s arms wrapped around his waist and pulled him close. He could feel the human’s heart on his back, and it made his beat faster as his mouth went dry. “Alex?”
“Too cold…” Then there was a sleepy yawn as he nuzzled into his back. “Night…”
Macen’s stomach bubbled as he felt himself leaning into the touch. Logic was screaming at him to do anything, but he was ignoring it then. Instead, he felt his eyes slowly close as the warmth of Alex’s body and his off-beat heart lured him back to sleep. In the morning he would regret this, but at the moment he didn’t care. Right then, there was just the bed and the warm embrace of the man he had come to…
He could deal with that thought later. Much later.
---
“They totally came to the set together.”
“Do you think those rumors were true after all?”
Nothing like crew rumors to make Macen regret being born.
It was finally time for some food after a long morning of filming. Just like he had feared, he and Alex had wound up heading to work together. To say people were talking was putting it mildly. He wouldn’t be surprised if it had already wound up on social media, though he had no ability to check. After the last two disasters he called relationships, he had gotten rid of the entire thing.
Honestly, he didn’t miss the memes. Plus, it gave him a mysterious edge. It was good PR.
Still, his carapace itched as he shot the two humans a glare as he passed. He still had enough bad boy reputation that they scattered like ants, but it didn’t do much more than soothe his prickled ego. In that moment, he had probably confirmed everything they had been whispering about.
What… no one had ever claimed he was smart.
“Fuck…” Macen sighed as he found a quiet place to settle in and eat. Doing so with the mandible implants was a little difficult, but he had figured it out with trial and error. It was good he had too – makeup had been getting annoyed with him. Now at least he was back in their good graces, which was what anyone should want in his line of work.
“Yeah, I’d be saying that too if I was you.”
A shadow had fallen over the turian, and he didn’t even need to look up to know who it was. There were only two people on set who went around in all black armor on the regular, and one of them definitely didn’t set him in shade like that. Just the sound of her voice made his stomach drop.
Talk about going from the frying pan to the fire…
Beau took a seat nearby, her eyes laser focused on him. It made it hard for Macen to swallow his lunch, but he did his best. Honestly, it wasn’t the best idea – it felt like he was swallowing concrete. At least it didn’t actually get stuck, but maybe that death would’ve been preferable to whatever she had planned for him. He’d had a good life… mostly…
“Afternoon, Beau…” Even he knew that was a faulty opening, but Macen had committed to the bit. “Can I help you?”
Another glance as she sipped from a can of soda. “Just wondering when you’re going to ask Alex out and get it over with. You two have been dancing around this for way too long.”
Macen was glad he hadn’t been eating at that point – if he had, he would’ve sprayed levo crumbs everywhere, and as far as he knew she was allergic. Instead, he just choked on his own spit and wound up coughing. To say it wasn’t his finest moment was putting it mildly at best, but at the moment it was all he could do.
At least she had enough heart to thump him on the carapace a few times. It wasn’t going to do anything – he wasn’t human – but it was the thought that counted.
“Don’t die on me, Virius. Garrus was a nightmare to find someone for, or at least that’s what I heard.”
He coughed a few more times, eyes watering. Words were hard, but doable. “I’m not… we’re not…”
Yet there was the feelings in his stomach squirming about in the mere mention of the man he more often than not found himself in bed with. He was adult enough to admit they had moved past simple sex, but… this was something else entirely.
And it was a dark, nasty road, one he knew way too well to be comfortable with anymore.
“I see the way you look at each other. Besides, you’re over each other’s places so much you might as well just fucking move in.” When he gaped, Beau added, “We text each other. I can tell when he’s getting laid, his messages stop and then he’s all relaxed after.”
Damn Alex for being so obvious in his tells…
Macen managed to straighten up, but his heart was still pounding. “It’s… complicated, ok?”
“Because you’re making it that way. You were an ass, get over it and get with it before you regret it.” Beau took another sip from her can. “Unless you’re still thinking this is just a sex thing.”
No… even he knew that one. And even thinking of that made him sigh as he hung his head. It was impossible to ignore the feelings that had been plaguing him for quite some time. To admit it was, in a way, admitting defeat in a war against himself. It was one he had tried to win for so long, yet he was seeing the last of his defenses crumble with every touch, every smile, every time Alex so much as looked at him.
He may have been a turian… but he knew he was beaten.
“Alright, fine … I give up.” His mandibles twitched. “I like the guy, ok?”
Part of him had expected the words to taste bitter on his tongue. Defeat was supposed to be something like that, and yet it was the complete opposite. Macen was surprised to find he felt lighter with just a few words. Of course, that didn’t last long – as soon as there was room, worry filled the place denial had once been.
He never got a fucking moment’s rest.
Beau shook her head as she put her can down. “I hope your delivery’s better when you tell him, Virius. How the hell did you get an award for acting?”
“I never said I was good at ad lib.” Despite everything, he snorted. It was a little bitter and self-depreciating, but it was still a laugh. “That’s going to take more work. I have no idea what to say to him.”
Something about this made him feel like a stupid teenager again, crushing on the cute boy in his class before either of them wound up in basic. He was far too old for something like this, and yet the feelings were so familiar he couldn’t deny it. Despite how hard he had tried, he had damn well caught feelings for Alex.
Well… at least his taste had improved. The guy in his math class had turned out to be a real dickhead.
“That I can’t help you with, Virius.” Beau stood, once again enveloping him in shadow. “But, lucky for you he’s coming this way. Time to work on those ad-lib skills.”
In that moment, Macen could have sworn she smirked as she left him behind to go fuck with someone else’s day. Even worse, she was right – he could see Alex in the distance and judging by the speed he had been spotted by the human and was now being targeted.
Shit… he hadn’t been kidding. He had always been terrible at ad-lib. But… there was no way out of this except through it. All he could do was brace himself for impact and hope he didn’t get tossed like a biotiball during a champion match.
For all he knew, Alex was capable of that now. Wouldn’t that be a way to go… death by being yeet’d by his crush into a wall. Well, there were worse ways he supposed…
Fuck, he so wasn’t ready for this. Fuck…

The Right One: Chapter One
~   ~   ~
The blinking cursor taunts you. It’s thin black line ready to travel over the page as your fingers move across the keyboard. You sigh heavily, hoping the words will come but they don’t. They seem to be right there on the edge, but they never want to appear. You’ve had a difficult time writing lately, especially since your grandmother passed away and the house became the center of your attention.
Your editor has been begging for new work close to four months now. She’d call and pester you about the need for new material and you’d say, “I’m working on it.”
She’d then retort with, “fans are clamoring for the next book Y/N.”
“I know,” you’d hiss at her. You loved your editor but there were times she was a thorn in your side you couldn’t get rid of.
Winter now walks into the room. The jingle of her tags drawing your attention away from the laptop and to her. She sits and looks at you, tilts her head.
You need to get out of the house, out into the fresh air of the world.
“How about we go to the dog park?”
Winter’s tail begins wagging. It doesn’t stop as you get up, walk out of the office and downstairs.
You reach for her leash and stop. Her tattered purple leash hangs next to the red plaid one Chris and Theodore had used to bring her back to you. They hadn’t come by and gotten it. Though it’s only been a few days.
Your fingers trace down the material as you think about the two.
You had noticed who Chris was when you laid your eyes on him, but you had no idea the actor had a son, let alone a girlfriend or wife. You had been living in the country not under a rock and had heard various rumors the actor wanted a family and kids, but he was continuously single after a breakup a couple of years ago.
Winter’s yappy bark removes your focus from your thoughts and back to grabbing the purple leash. You hook the leash on her collar then grab the car keys on the counter.
“Let’s hope the fresh air does us both some good.”
*
The smell of fresh cut grass moves through the breeze as you sit on a bench within the dog park you brought Winter to. Happy dog barks and children playing greet your ears as you eye Winter playing with a couple other dogs.
She had enjoyed the open air and free roam of the farm, just like you had. Both of you had to accustom yourself to life in the suburbs. While you were adjusting to being back in a city, Winter had been raised on the farm, all the dog knew was farm life.
You had known the farm life when you were younger. Living on the family farm every summer until you went to college. You had returned on occasion but remained faithful to finding work in Chicago, spinning out short stories and eventually moving onto novels. You were working on a final book, not your last book, but a final book in a beloved series you held close to your heart.
Maverick was a heroine you had created after a painful breakup, which made you move out to family farm over five years ago. Your grandmother had seen your broken heart and gave you Winter.
“You need something,” she emphasized when she handed you the six-month-old puppy.
You had sighed heavily, knowing you weren’t going to win, and took the fragile puppy into your hands. One eye dark as night, the other eye bright as the snow. You hadn’t like snow for a name therefore deciding on Winter. She had been by your side since.
Then your grandmother had passed away a few months ago, making the holidays unbearable. She had been the only person in your family to understand why you wanted to move away from your parents, to move away from the life you had here once upon a time.
“Can I sit with you?”
A small but familiar voice breaks through your thoughts. You look over into jade green eyes.
You shake your head, “of course you can. Where’s your dad?”
Theo points towards the parking lot. You follow the direction of his arm. “Ladies like my dad a lot, they show up if we leave the house. It’s really annoying sometimes.”
You laugh and smile, “I don’t see anyone bombarding him today.”
Theo huffs and rolls his eyes, “just wait.”
-------
Chris pulls into the parking lot, finds a spot, and parks the SUV. Theo’s already opening the door as Chris removes the keys from the ignition.
“Careful Theo!” Chris calls after him. He smiles looking at Dodger and his son, unsure who is dragging who towards the entrance of the dog park.
His blue eyes roam over the scene before him.
Not a cloud in sight as the bright spring sun shines brightly. Trees budding green leaves as the grass begins to slowly grow in the warmer weather. Children laughing and playing, most at the playground, others inside of the fenced in dog park playing with their beloved pet. Then he spots her.
The neighbor from down the street. Her eyes are searching for her Australian Shepherd, which has made its way towards the entrance to greet Dodger.
Theo unhooks the leash and proceeds towards her. Chris watches as she smiles widely and nods her head, recognizing the young child. He points in Chris’ direction and her eyes follow as her smile remains. She raises her eyebrows and then laughs. Chris is now dying to know what his son had told her.
Chris makes his way towards the entrance, thankful none of the regulars have noticed him. He was getting tired of the attention he got, even in his hometown. Chris walks through the gated entrance to the dog park towards Theo and the neighbor. Their voices carrying over to his ears.
“Why Winter? Because she looks like a snowflake. I would’ve named her snowflake.”
“Because—,” you begin.
Theo continues without taking a breath, “dad has Dodger. I’ve never had a dog before Dodger. I always wanted a dog, but the other foster homes never had any and the group home didn’t allow pets.”
You smile as you take in his words. “I’m sure Dodger enjoys having a kid around.”
Theo smiles brightly, “he sleeps in my room on my bed with me. He used to sleep with dad, but dad said I need protecting so dad told him to watch over me and now Dodger sleeps in my room. On my bed.”
“Well your dad’s not wrong. A dog protects fiercely, just like a parent does,” you reply, finally able to get in a word between Theodore’s rapid firing of information.
Chris laughs and shakes his head. Theo was full of questions. What kid wouldn’t be? He admires your understanding as you try to get in a word edgewise and answer his questions.
“Theo,” Chris remarks as he approaches the bench, “go find a ball and get Dodger moving. We need to wear him out. Maybe get Winter worn out too. I’m sure our friendly neighbor would like a quiet evening at home with her dog resting.”
“Okay,” Theo sighs heavily as he gets up and walks away.
Chris hears you chuckle as he watches his son find one of the many tennis balls on the ground and calls Dodger and Winter. He then proceeds to move his eyes to you.
“Thank you,” Chris utters.
“You’re welcome.” Knowing Chris appreciated you for engaging with Theo and not turning him away.
You two are quiet as you both watch Theo play with Dodger and Winter. The two dogs playing happily together. You smile and lower your head. Winter’s only interactions with other dogs were here and she rarely played with other dogs because she was more focused on you and being your side.
You clear your throat as the silence begins to become too much, “your son said he was in foster care. How long ago did you adopt him?”
Chris glances at you sideways then sighs, “beginning of the week.”
“Still trying to figure out each other?”
“We’ve done relationship building activities for the past two months while everything was getting approved. Gone dozens of places, met my family. I’ve kept everything hidden from the outside world. I’m not ready for people to know I’m a dad.”
“But you are a dad. An official one. And by the looks of things,” you point to the small boy chasing the two dogs, “a good one too.”
“I’ve wanted my own family for a few years but with my work I couldn’t find the time. Couldn’t find the right person,” Chris utters under his breath.
“And now you have the time with the superhero business behind you.”
Chris gives a lopsided smile, “so I guess you do know who I am.”
“I do but I’m not intrigued by that perspective of you. I’m intrigued by the man who gave that,” you point once again towards Theodore, “kid a chance.”
“I saw him, heard his giggly laugh and knew he was the one. Glad I took the chance. I wouldn’t exchange him for another kid.”
“He’s enthralled by you. Must be excited that Captain America is his dad. I’m sure you’d be willing to take a chance on another kid.”
Chris shrugs, “I’d love a daughter too. Best of both worlds. Maybe a couple of years down the road I’ll adopt a girl,” Chris turns towards you, “what about you?”
You shrug, “not much to tell. Grew up in the Midwest, spent my summers on the family farm out here. My grandmother owned the house I’m currently living in.”
“Family farm?”
“Up near Princeton. My uncle and his wife lived there before they retired and moved down to Florida. They had no kids, left the place to me about seven years ago. I officially moved in five years ago after a painful breakup.”
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to—”
You shrug, “it’s fine. It’s in the past. I created something from it and I’m proud of my creation.”
Chris raises his eyebrows, “creation?”
You smirk, “stop by a bookstore. You know my name.”
-------
A couple hours later Chris is driving Theo and Dodger home when he drives by Concord Bookshop. He looks over at Theo.
“You mind if we stop at the bookstore?”
Theo smiles, “can I get some books on dinosaurs?”
Chris grins and laughs, “of course buddy.”
Theo throws his arms in the air, “yes!”
Once inside the local bookstore, Chris finds a bookseller while Theo wonders off to the children’s section.
“Excuse me?”
The older gentleman looks at Chris over his glasses. “How may I help you?”
“I am looking for anything by Y/F/N Y/L/N.”
The older gentleman thinks, “do you want Creative Rebirth or the Maverick series?”
“Uh, I was given her name on a recommendation.”
“Her Creative Rebirth is a self-help slash journal project. The Maverick series is fantasy. Dark, gritty, apocalyptic.”
“Both.” Chris remarks.
The older gentleman begins moving his feet through some of the displays and tall bookcases, leading Chris over to the Self-Help section. The man scans a shelf and pulls out a book, handing it over to Chris.
Chris begins to flip through the pages of the paperback book.
“She explains how creativity gives someone a chance to reinvent themselves, a chance to remake who they are and move on from the past. I recommend you check out the website, plenty of people post their creative innovations on it.”
“Thanks,” Chris whispers.
“Let me take you to the Sci-Fi section,” the bookseller leads Chris to another part of the bookstore. “After she wrote Creative Rebirth, she decided to follow through with her own advice and began writing the Maverick series.”
*
After getting Theo and Dodger into bed, Chris makes his way through the house towards his bedroom. He did miss the four-legged dog in his bed but knew Dodger was attached to the kid since they had first met a couple of months ago.
Once Chris was in comfortable clothes and settled into his own bed, he grabs the copy of Creative Rebirth and turns to the first page -
I stared into two eyes – one dark as night, one bright as day. I was lost, forever lost in those eyes. My grandmother told me I needed something when she handed me the six-month-old puppy. She was right but my grandmother didn’t know this six-month-old puppy was going to be my saving grace.

My heart was broken in the budding days of spring in the year 2013. I remember the day clearly even though a pounding thunderstorm was beating down over the city of Chicago.

Guess my first comment ended up in the same fire as Christopher's shoes. I'll try to recreate (w/improvements): Christopher's letter has this line: "...while I prefer Hope Valley to Bellingham, the trade-off of being with the woman I love is what matters." Also a brief line about how he worries about Henry's health. Has me wondering if there are plans to 86 Henry by shipping him east to find love & nurturing in Abigail's arms.
That would be using their once-mentioned correspondence as a cheap shortcut to tie up their romance without having to either bring Abigail back, show us what was in the letters, or give the fans of this storyline any happiness or real closure at all. I know this 'ship isn't one you care for, but always like to hear your thoughtful thoughts about these things. There has been a rumor that Martin was leaving at the end of this season, but no one knows anything for sure.
HAH, those poor shoes. I wonder if anything will ever come of that whole plotline (I’m assuming not) or what Henry said about the mining disaster to Bill.
I think the rumor about Martin leaving was fueled by a comment he made on Instagram where his wording may have been poor. It’s hard to imagine the actor choosing to leave the show because it’s an easy paycheck for not a lot of work, but I guess you never know. I’d be really disappointed to see him leave, but you’re right; it would be an easy way to both write him off the show and to do so while giving some fans a mediocre attempt at closure.
I guess we should all look at it similarly to Frank being written off the show: at least there was an attempt to tie a storyline to his departure? Sure, it was completely out of left field in Frank’s case and didn’t make any damn sense, but at least he got something (so many characters on this show didn’t even get that). If you couldn’t tell, I’m still bitter about it. I know most people here don’t care about the Frank/Abigail ship anymore, but boy did that whole thing upset me. I don’t expect godly writing from Hallmark, but I sure do want more than the absolute bare minimum, especially after literal years of my emotional investment have been poured into the characters!
My personal opinion about the current goings-on is pretty muddled, mostly because we still have one episode to go and I’m not sure what will come of it, but I feel like the situation with Henry is definitely pointing at something. Whether that’s Henry leaving the show or them leading up bringing Abigail back...I don’t know.
But if they’re smart right now it’s just them feeling things out—specifically to see how the audience reacts to the potential of Abigail (and therefore Lori Loughlin) returning. No matter what they chose to do with the end of Season 8, and no matter how the audience reacts to it, it gives them an easy out if they need it.
For example:
If Henry goes East to talk to Abigail at the end of S8, but fans riot at the thought of Abigail returning to the show, they can just have Henry return without her and say she wasn’t interested. It would feel bad to be rejected romantically, but at least Abigail is the sort to remain friends, and he doesn’t have to live with all the what-ifs that come along with just never saying anything. That could even be a good storyline for him if it’s well-written but we all know better than to get our hopes up about that lmao.
If Henry doesn’t go to see Abigail at the end of S8, but they see enough positive fan speculation at the end of this season to warrant bringing Abigail back, they have multiple options to bring her back. She writes to not only Henry, but also Bill and Elizabeth, so with all these people urging her home again, it would be a cinch to bring her back.
And of course, if he goes to see her and fans are really into the idea, they can bring her back with Henry in S9.
I guess all of my ideas pretty much spell out Henry remaining on the show, but I still find it hard to imagine he would leave. He’s one of the best characters (and actors) they have and it would be a big blow to the series to lose him! If the actor does want to leave, though, it writes him off the show smoothly enough, all things considered. (We also have all those hints that have been dropped about Mike kind of...taking over the oil business...)
I do find something you said interesting, though: the part about Henry leaving to see Abigail not actually appeasing fans of the ship/giving them anything meaningful... Yeah, I agree with you, there. It’s lazy/cheap route, but on this show we’ve seen WAY worse ways of getting rid of characters who aren’t needed anymore, so all in all you almost have to count it as a win. Unfortunately! :P
I’ll be honest, I’m a little nervous about what their plans are for Henry. But I’m hoping he doesn’t actually get written off the show. They’d be giving up their most versatile character. Keeping my fingers crossed for the next episode!

What do you guys make of this new rumor that seb got Brittany snow fired from TLFM because he “didn’t like her”? I get people are annoyed with him after this year but This is all going a bit too far now? He’s not got that kind of power in a big production like that surely?
From notes:
Tumblr media
Anon 3:
What do you think of the new rumors that Sebastian was the reason Brittany Snow was recast in The Last Full Measure? She said on blog she was fired because the lead actor didn’t like her and a lot of people are saying it was that film and it was right after he was cast.
Haven’t seen the rumor itself but personally think that a) doesn’t jive with what people have said about working with Sebastian b) are disgruntled fans taking things to another level. I don’t believe he has that kind of pull.
Lady Danger
Yeah, I don't believe it. The less known actor? Do we really think Seb would be the less known actor and have enough clout to get her fired?
Ruby Woo
From what I recall she mentioned it on a friend's podcast but didn't name the actor or the film. Going to need more deets....
Vamp
Did Sebastian not like her or was the lack of chemistry noticable and the director got rid of her? How long has she been filming prior to the termination? And even then, Sebastian just does not have that pull.
Le Chef
Sounds like chemistry may have been off and someone opted to keep Seb over her. He may have had input but not enough to pull the trigger. That is if it were him.
He also may be lesser known but he is the one on the rise and she has never really been an it girl.

Worlds Collide Chapter 25
Summary: Although Reader has successfully weeded out the toxic people in her life, there’s one person that she still wishes she hadn’t hurt. She doesn’t know how to fix things, and she’s not so sure that she should bother trying; but when Billy makes the first attempt at reconciliation, she knows what she has to do.
Word Count: 3128
Warnings: angst, fluff
Notes: short and sweet, but I hope I fixed your hearts.
Masterlist
Tumblr media
You left the convention with a sense of pride in yourself. You had at least fixed your relationships with the people who had become your friends, and you had successfully and bravely weeded out the most toxic people in your life.
You returned to set in Vancouver with an unfamiliar sense of accomplishment for once. Even when your mother and even Jen had tried to talk you out of letting them go, you stood your ground on the decision. This didn’t stop them from berating you and telling you that you’d fail without them, but you really didn’t care anymore. So what if you might make a mess of your career by letting them go? The inner peace you felt about all of this was enough to convince you that you had definitely done the right thing.
Your co-workers noticed the kick in your step when you all returned to work. They pointed out how you seemed happier, and you really did feel happier.
However, there was one thing that still bothered you. You tried not to let it show anymore that you were still a mess over the entire thing with Billy. Regardless of how your new-found freedom had you smiling, the thoughts of him still hurt.
You thought often about the way Misha, Briana, and Kim had tried to convince you that perhaps Billy really did want to try a relationship with you again. Your insistence that he was only speaking to you at all because he felt bad for you remained though. You kept telling yourself that it was pity; to the point where you continued to believe it.
As you worked through the week, this continued to weigh on you. You questioned yourself and every choice that you had made. You questioned whether you were wrong about everything when it came to him.
By the end of the week, your pride in yourself over having fired everyone on your team waned quickly. Now, you were just sad again over the only thing that really mattered to you.
“When are you headed home?”
You looked up to see Misha standing there. How long he had been there, you didn’t know. You were definitely lost in thought, something that happened more often than not lately.
“Tomorrow morning,” you replied.
“Well, I’m headed out. Enjoy your time off, Y/N.”
“Yeah, you too.”
You pulled yourself together and stood up, realizing that the last scene had been shot and everyone had been cleared to go.
“What are you gonna do with your break?” Misha asked as the two of you walked together, headed for makeup and wardrobe.
“I don’t know,’ you answered. “I suppose I should probably think about how I’m going to manage myself or if I should hire a new team.”
“It’s probably a good idea to hire some new people.”
“Maybe,” you muttered. “Or maybe it’s best if I just take care of myself for now.”
“It’s all a lot to manage on your own,” he reminded you.
“I know. But, I think I have some serious trust issues at the moment.”
He let out a soft chuckle, nodding his head as if to agree.
“Understandable.”
~*~*~*~
When you arrived back at your apartment that night, you had one goal in mind. All you wanted to do was be alone with a bad movie so that you could forget about the things that were still bothering you.
You had changed into sweats and one of Billy’s t-shirts that you had found in your room. Even as you put it on, you knew you were just making things worse. Still, it felt nice to still have something to remind you of him.
You curled up on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and a glass of wine, ready to lose yourself in another rom-com that you had never had the chance to watch before. As you pressed play, you suddenly wished that you had him here with you to give you a hard time about your questionable taste in movies.
You were halfway into the film, already tearing up at the way the lead actor was professing his love to the woman. You didn’t realize that these types of stories could hit you so hard, and your mind immediately went to Billy. You reached up to wipe away tears that had begun to fall down your cheek when the doorbell rang.
You grumpily got up to answer the door, wondering who the hell would be bothering you at this time. You only assumed it was Misha again. For some reason, the man couldn’t take a hint when you said you didn’t want to talk. He had been so pushy about trying to convince you to just talk to Billy already, and it was quite annoying that he wouldn’t give up.
When you opened the door, your breath caught. You swear you felt your heart stop as you laid eyes on him.
“Billy?” You said, surprise in your voice when you finally let it register that it was, in fact, him standing there at the door. “What are you doing here?”
“Well, you didn’t go home after the convention…”
“Work,” you said simply.
“Yeah, I see that now.”
“You didn’t answer my question. Why are you here?”
“You wouldn’t come to me, so I came to you.”
“Why?”
“We didn’t talk last weekend,” he answered. “Can I come in? So we can talk finally?”
You said nothing as you were still in disbelief over the fact that he was actually here. You simply stepped aside and allowed him to come in.
“You look good, Y/N,” he said as you closed the door behind him.
“Oh god,” you mumbled. “I’m a mess…”
You were suddenly very aware of the fact that you weren’t pulled together. You fumbled with your t-shirt, then your messy hair as you blushed when you realized you hated being seen like this.
“You always say that in the moments when I find you the most beautiful,” he replied.
“Billy…”
“You’re also really cute when you’re nervous,” he smiled.
“I’m not nervous,” you argued. “I’m just- surprised to see you.”
“I’m always full of surprises.”
“That you are,” you chuckled.
“Really though, you look really good. Happier in a way.”
“Well, I have a few things to be happy about.”
“So I heard,” he replied. “Misha told me that you finally got rid of some people in your life…”
“Oh, yeah. I finally did the thing.”
“How was that?”
“It’s been- surprisingly freeing,” you laughed. “I feel really good about it.”
“I’m glad to hear that. You deserve to be happy.”
“I know you didn’t come all this way to just ask about that, what did you really come here for?” You asked finally.
“I heard something- a little rumor. I just wanted to ask you about it. Is it true that you’re leaving the show and conventions?”
“Where’d you hear that?”
“Misha,” he said simply. “I’m kinda upset that I have to hear about things like that from him… but I guess since I’m the one who left you, you don’t owe it to me to tell me anything.”
“I don’t hate you for leaving. I get it.”
“Still… I wish that we could just be okay. Enough that you could come to me with things like this.”
“He really said that? That I’m leaving the show?”
“He said you got some role on a film and that you were done with all of this.”
“Uh, huh,” you said, shaking your head with a chuckle. Leave it to Misha to blow everything way out of proportion, especially since he knew damn well you weren’t leaving.
“Is it because of me?” Billy asked.
“You didn’t do anything. I know all of that was my fault. Please don’t blame yourself for anything.”
“After everything that’s happened, you can imagine why I blame myself.”
“I’m not leaving,” you explained. “It was a role that I didn’t earn. I couldn’t take it. Especially when I already have this great gig going on now.”
“Really? You’re gonna keep doing cons?”
“Regardless of everything, I’m happy where I am now. Mostly.”
“That’s good to hear,” he said with a grin. “I was just really worried that I’d never see you again.”
“Misha sure has a way of leaving out the entire truth enough to make people worry,” you chuckled.
“Yeah, I should’ve known he was holding something back.”
“You don’t expect me to believe that you came all this way to just asked me that either, do you?”
“Maybe I’m holding back as well.”
“What are you doing here?” You asked again.
“I guess… I'm really here to apologize,” he began. “I’m sorry for how things went. I’m sorry for walking out on you like I did instead of talking to you.”
“No,” you replied. “I won’t let you do this.”
“Do what?”
“Stop apologizing,” you said sharply. “You have to stop apologizing.”
“Oh, okay,” he replied, looking a bit shocked at the way you stopped him. “I get it… this isn’t going to be fixed because you don’t want it to be fixed. I’m sorry.”
He turned from you and headed for the door. This motion set you in a panic. That wasn’t what you meant at all. You just wanted him to stop apologizing for something that you had done. You needed to be the one to take responsibility.
Now that you had him here, you knew that this was the time that you needed to fix things. You had been avoiding it all for so long, but this had to be a sign. If he was willing to come here to see you, perhaps there really was a chance for the two of you to try things again. Still, you had to be the one to make that happen. You couldn’t sit back and allow him to feel bad for the way things had ended.
“Billy,” you called out after him. You steeled yourself for what you were about to say, hoping that he’d catch on. “I’m damaged. I’m not using what’s happened in my life as an excuse for how I treated you… but, I need you to understand that I don’t know what I’m doing here.”
He stopped in his tracks and turned back to face you, interested in what you had to say. You had expected him to keep walking, but now that you had his attention again, you continued.
“I’m- not very good at letting people love me… and I’m especially bad at loving other people. I admit that I don’t know what I’m doing most of the time, and sometimes I don’t think about how my actions and my words affect others. I’ve been talked down to my entire life… I never really learned how to treat people.”
“Y/N…” he began sadly.
“Please, let me talk,” you cut him off. “You were the first person to ever tell me that they loved me.”
You were holding back the tears that had been building up since the moment you opened that door.
“The only person really,” you continued. “When you first said it to me; I was terrified. I was more scared at the way I didn’t even hesitate to say those words back to you. Just like no one had ever told me they loved me at any other point in my life, I never gave those words to anyone either. Well, until you happened.”
“I meant it every time I said it,” he smiled. “I still do.”
Now, you had to know what his intentions were. It was easy for him to stand here and say these things, it wasn’t so easy for you to say them. You had to know that this wasn’t a pity thing.
“Why would you even want me anymore?” You asked.
Now, the tears were falling freely. For a brief moment you remembered your mother’s hatred of you showing any emotion, and you considered trying to stop yourself. But, then you remembered how safe Billy always made you feel. You remembered how he encourage you to feel things. You remembered all the times you had ever been vulnerable around him… how he accepted your weaknesses and loved your faults.
“Because I fell in love with you and I never stopped loving you,” he said softly.
He looked at you with honesty in his eyes. It was just the same as when he was working so hard to get your attention in the first place. He looked at you with adoration and kindness.
“Why though?”
“Why do you always have to question everything?”
“Because I don’t deserve it,” you replied. “I don’t deserve you and I just want to know what your motivation is by still telling me that you love me. What do you get out of this?”
“That’s not you talking right now,” he said. “That’s still her.”
You scoffed at the mention of your mother. For so long everyone had told you that most of what you felt about yourself wasn’t you at all, it was her and her control over you. By now, you knew that this was true. You knew that still had doubts in people because she had brainwashed you for so long into believing that you were worthless. You only wished that you could move past this way of thinking, but right now, you wondered if you ever could.
“You made a huge step by removing her from your life again, don’t let her continue to make you feel worthless.”
“I can’t- I can’t help it,” you stuttered out. “I just- I don’t deserve you. I don’t deserve any good thing in my life.”
“You deserve to be happy.”
“Do I? After everything I’ve ever said or done to you… you still think I deserve to be happy?”
“You’re a good person. A good person who has just been through some not-so-good things.”
No matter how much you believed that you didn’t deserve him or happiness, he never let you forget that he believed otherwise.
“At what point do you finally give up on me?” You asked, unsure if you really wanted to know the answer to that.
“There is no point in time where that will ever happen.”
“I’m not sure if I’m flattered or just annoyed at your persistence now.”
“I don’t give up easily.”
“I really did miss you,” you said softly.
“Hey,” he smiled. “I meant it when I said that I missed you.”
For the first time ever, you knew that you needed to ask for forgiveness. He seemed to have already forgiven you, and it would be easy to just take this as it was and move on. But, you knew you needed to do this the right way. You needed to fix the things that you had broken. It was never something that you had done before, but standing here, hearing him apologize to you for something you had done; you understood that sometimes it was okay to let your guard down and be vulnerable for some people.
“Can I just say something?” You asked.
“Of course.”
“I’m the one who is sorry,” you replied firmly. “I’m sorry for my disregard for your feelings. I’m sorry I made you feel like your thoughts didn’t matter. I’m sorry I didn’t respect you and what you do, that was horrible of me. I’m sorry that I didn’t understand why I hurt you. And I’m sorry that my original apology was a terrible one. I’m sorry. For everything.”
“I know you are,” he replied.
Finally, he had stopped apologizing to you. That was all you really wanted from him. All you really needed was for him to know that you truly did feel bad for what you had done, and you needed him to know how sorry you were. At this point, you didn’t expect for him to ever forgive you, but you figured it was a worth a shot anyway.
“Is there a chance that you can forgive me?” You asked. “I know I don’t deserve it, and I still think that I don’t deserve you. But, the past couple of months have been so damn hard, and I don’t know how I even got along without you before.”
“I can forgive you,” he smiled. “I have forgiven you.”
“Do you think… do you think that you and I still have a shot?” You asked carefully.
“Are you asking if we can get back together?”
“I’m trying to,” you chuckled. “But, I’m really bad at this.”
“You’re doing great,” he said as he moved closer to you.
“Well?” You asked finally. “Do we… have a shot at being together again?”
As the words finally left your lips, he was standing in front of you, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you close to him. Your heart raced as you waited for him to answer you. Even with the way he had been trying to fix all of this himself, you still felt that there was a possibility that he’d walk away from you for good.
He smiled down at you, that look in his eyes that never failed to light a fire within you. You felt his hands caressing your back as he held you close. You felt the happiness that you had lost out on build up again. You felt safe and loved again.
“I think there’s a chance,” he teased.
“Well, what do I have to do to know for sure? Please don’t make me beg, because I’m already really out of my comfort zone right now…”
“Just ask,” he replied.
You paused briefly, studying him to make sure that he wasn’t saying all of this just to mess with you. You really didn’t know if your ego could handle being damaged after being so vulnerable at this point. Instead of thinking about it too much, you decided that maybe you deserved a shot to your pride. Maybe you being open and honest would result in a broken heart, but maybe you also needed that.
“Can you give me another chance?” You asked finally. “Can we try us again?”
“I thought you’d never ask,” he smiled.
He didn’t necessarily answer you, but he leaned in and crashed his lips against yours in a frantic kiss. You moved to wrap your arms around his shoulders, pulling him as close to you as you possibly could once it registered that this was really happening.
There didn’t have to be words this time. He kissed you the way he used to back when the two of you started to fall in love with each other. This moment right here, was your answer; and it was exactly what you had hoped for.

ORSON WELLES RADIO ALMANAC
March 9, 1944
Tumblr media
“Orson Welles Almanac” (1944) is a CBS Radio series directed and hosted by Orson Welles. Broadcast live in California and Arizona via CBS West Coast studios, the 30-minute program was heard Wednesdays at 9:30pm beginning January 26, 1944. Its last broadcast was July 19, 1944. Orson Welles Almanac presented readings from classic works, drama, music, sketch comedy, magic, mindreading, and personal commentary by Welles. Many of the shows originated from US Army camps where Welles entertained the troops. Welles had an ongoing battle with the program's sponsor, Mobil Oil, which shortened the life of the series. Twenty six broadcasts were produced; all but four shows have survived.
This is the seventh episode of the series, aired on March 9, 1944. Previous guests were Groucho Marx, Lionel Barrymore, Ann Sothern, Robert Benchley, Hedda Hopper, and Victor Moore.  Lucille Ball would return to the series to guest star on May 3, 1944. Unfortunately, this is one of the four lost episodes.
CAST
Lucille Ball (Guest Star) was then filming Ziegfeld Follies for release in 1945.  Her films Best Foot Forward and Thousands Cheer (both released in 1943) were then in local cinemas. Ball was in her fourth year of a rocky marriage to Desi Arnaz, who she would divorce in September 1944, although the papers were never officially filed. The week prior to this broadcast, Ball guest starred on Bing Crosby’s radio show “Music Hall”.
Tumblr media
Orson Welles arrived in Hollywood in 1939 when Ball was a contract player at RKO Studios. To squelch rumors that he was a homosexual, the studio sent Lucy to escort him to a premiere to be photographed. He later recalled,
“We went to see the opening of some movie or other—I simply picked her up at her house and we went to the movie and got photographed and came home and I said ‘Good night,’ and that was the end of that. That was the end of that romance, but it was the beginning of a long friendship.”
Tumblr media
A veteran of the theatre, in 1941 the actor / director completed his magnum opus film Citizen Kane. In the 1950s he was under contract to Desilu to film a pilot for an anthology series called “The Fountain of Youth,” which wasn’t aired until 1958 and did not result in a series. Despite that, it won a Peabody Award, the only pilot to ever do so.
Tumblr media
On February 5, 1956 Lucy and Desi appeared with Welles on Ed Sullivan’s “Toast of the Town.” They were there to promote their film Forever Darling. Welles was there to promote his revival of his King Lear at New York’s City Center, which he initially performed in a wheelchair due to injuries to both ankles. By the time he performed it on “Toast of the Town” (aka “The Ed Sullivan Show”) Welles was using a crutch.
Tumblr media
When the Oscar-winning actor and director was down on his luck he was invited to stay in the Arnaz guest cottage. Notorious for his drinking and rude behavior, Lucy had to find a way to politely get rid of her guest so she decided to have an episode of “I Love Lucy” written for him so she could pay him a salary. With that in mind, Desilu paid him the exorbitant sum of $15,000!  Ball’s memories of Welles were mixed. “I had a real love-hate relationship with Orson,” she said towards the end of her life. “His mind was awesome…but he was also a pain in the ass.”
Tumblr media
At the time of this broadcast (March 8, 1944) Welles’ film Jane Eyre was playing in cinemas.
Tumblr media
Ella Mae Morse (Musical Guest) was signed by Jimmy Dorsey at the age of 14 (she lied about her age and said she was 19) and was subsequently fired after discovering the truth about her age. Her recording of "Cow Cow Boogie" was the first million-selling single for Capitol Records in 1942. Her biggest hit was "The Blacksmith Blues" released in February 1952. The song she sings here, “Shoo-Shoo Baby” (written by Phil Moore), would be heard in the about-to-be-released film South of Dixie in which she played Barbara Ann Morgan.
Tumblr media
Agnes Moorehead (Prudence Pratt / Miss Grimace / Swoon Club Girl) was a member of Welles’ Mercury Theatre on stage and radio as well as starring in Welles’ films Citizen Kane and The Magnificent Ambersons. She is best remembered as Endora, Samantha’s mother-in-law on TV’s “Bewitched”.
Tumblr media
Hans Conried (Colonel Peabristle / Hotel Operator / Frenchman / Dr. Snake Oil / Flat Top) first co-starred with Lucille Ball in The Big Street (1942). After being a recurring guest on her radio show “My Favorite Husband” (1948-51), he appeared on “I Love Lucy” as used furniture man Dan Jenkins in “Redecorating” (ILL S2;E8) and later that same season as Percy Livermore in “Lucy Hires an English Tutor” (ILL S2;E13) – both in 1952. The following year he began an association with Disney by voicing Captain Hook in Peter Pan. On “The Lucy Show” he played Professor Gitterman in “Lucy’s Barbershop Quartet” (TLS S1;E19) and in “Lucy Plays Cleopatra” (TLS S2;E1). He was probably best known as Uncle Tonoose on “Make Room for Daddy” starring Danny Thomas, which was filmed on the Desilu lot. He joined Thomas on a season 6 episode of “Here’s Lucy” in 1973.
Tumblr media
The All-Star Jazz Group: Mutt Carey (trumpet), Kid Ory (trombone), Jimmy Noone (clarinet), Buster Wilson (piano), Bud Scott (guitar), Ed Garland (bass), and Zutty Singleton (drums).
John McIntire (Announcer)
EPISODE
Orson Welles introduces the episode, opening with a Household Hint by Prudence Pratt and a Wonders of Science fact by Colonel Peabristle. After the opening music and Mobil Oil sponsorship message, Welles summons his secretary Miss Grimace to tell him who is on the show tonight. She reports that it is Miss Lucille Ball, although she hasn’t arrived yet.  Welles says she is filing her tax forms.
WELLES: “Can you imagine. The Government wants Lucille Ball to fill in HER form!”
Miss Grimace admits the three members of The Orson Welles Swoon Club.  Welles interrogates them as to their whereabouts during his public appearances. He wants new members, promising them nylons.
Oops!  Welles mis-reads the script, saying “nylon baby socks” instead of “nylon bobby sox”. He corrects himself with a laugh and says “For me, it’s booby socks!”  Bobby soxer is a term for the wildly enthusiastic, teenage female fans of 1940s music, particularly Frank Sinatra.
Orson wants to know if they have gotten the new photographs he sent them. One of the Swoon Club compliments him on how he looks in his sarong - mistaking him for Dororthy Lamour in a Bob Hope / Bing Crosby picture.
Tumblr media
Dorothy Lamour was nicknamed ‘The Sarong Girl’. In 1936 she donned her soon-to-be-famous sarong for her debut at Paramount, The Jungle Princess (1936), and continued to play similar parts through the war years and beyond. The most famous of these was in the popular Bob Hope / Bing Crosby "Road" pictures - a combination of adventure, music, and slapstick.
The Swoon Club feel sorry for Orson that he hasn’t won an Oscar, so they knit him a tie - which started out as a pair of socks. He dismisses the club.
When the 16th Academy Awards were distributed at Grauman's Chinese Theatre on Thursday, March 2, 1944, neither of Welles’ 1943 motion pictures were among the nominees: Jane Eyre and Journey Into Fear, which he also co-directed and co-wrote. Welles shared a 1942 Oscar with Herman Mankiewicz for writing Citizen Kane, a bone of contention between them, since Mankiewicz later claimed he wrote the entire script. The backstory is explored in the modern film Mank (2020).
Miss Grimace reports that the Hotel Carlton is suing him. After he did a magic show there, the two rabbits ran rampant and did damage! Orson calls the hotel operator (Hans Conried) and learns that the hotel is now called the Carlton Rabbit Farm and the manager’s eyes have turned pink!  Welles asks Miss Grimace to send Lucille Ball roses. Miss Grimace says they are too expensive and he should send her something simpler, like phoenicia vulgaris. Welles says no because it sounds too dirty.
Here Welles ad libs, causing Agnes Moorehead to break character and laugh. He mentions Lewis Titterton, the NBC censor and says “If you had a name like Louis Titterton anything would sound dirty. Let’s get back to the script.”  They try, but it takes a moment for their laughter to subside.
A Frenchman from a reducing salon (Hans Conried) approaches him for an estimate on a new body. He measures Welles’ body with a tape measure. He was once the girdle coordinator at Bullocks basement for 15 years.
FRENCHMAN: “If a size 44 tries to get into a 38, I help push!”
Tumblr media
Announcer John McIntire does a live commercial for Mobilgas with some driving tips.
PART 2
Before a musical introduction, Dr. Snake Oil (Hans Conried) gives a tip about dislodging a fishbone caught in the throat.
Tumblr media
The All-Star Jazz Group plays "Bésame Mucho" ("Kiss me a lot"), a song written in 1940 by Consuelo Velázquez. It is now considered one of the most popular songs of the 20th century and of all times. It is also the most recorded and covered song in Spanish of all time.
Welles welcomes Lucille Ball to the show to studio audience applause. Welles says he’s written a sketch full of romantic love scenes. Orson improvs a commercial for a sponsor Krunchies, a noisy breakfast cereal that gets soggy in milk. He introduces...
“THE CASE OF THE BLUE BLOOD STAIN”
Tumblr media
Orson plays Mickey, a detective on his night off, reading the evening paper. Lucy plays his adoring wife, Dora.
DORA: “Mickey, where were you last night?” MICKEY: “Don’t be silly, you know how I feel about you. You’re the eighth wonder of the world.” DORA: “Yeah, well, just don’t let me catch you with the other seven, bub!”
Lounging in bed, Dora feels a cold hand which doesn’t belong to Mickey. She screams! There’s a dead man in their bed.
MICKEY: “You know how difficult it is to find a room these days.”
Detective Mickey notes that the dead man has 18 knife wounds in him and no holes in his shirt.
DORA: “Must have been an inside job.”
They push the body off the bed and decide to turn out the lights and go to sleep.  In the darkness, they hear a squeaky door.
WELLES (aside): “Fine thing, a squeaky door in an oil program!”
The audience loudly applauds this ad-lib by Welles, and even Lucy chuckles.
Dora insists there’s someone in the closet. A body falls out of the closet and onto the floor with a loud thud. Someone throws a rock through their bedroom window with a note on it.
Except the sound effect of broken glass does not happen. Welles laughs a bit but forges ahead.
MICKEY (reading the note): “Keep your mouth shut and throw a thousand dollars out of the window or you’ll never get another sounds effect...no, excuse me... or they’ll be four bodies in your room.”
Another rock comes through the window - with a sound effect this time!
MICKEY (reading the note): "PS: I’ll settle for $950.”
A knock at the front door.
MICKEY: “That must be the murderer. Come in!  I’ll take that line again: That must be the murderer. Come in!”
The man, Flat Top (Hans Conried), pulls a gun on them and threatens to shoot.
DORA: “Where’s your patriotism? You can’t shoot him. Don’t you know the government is trying to save waste fats?”
Tumblr media
During World War II, the US government urged Americans to save excess fat rendered from cooking and donate it to the army to produce explosives. Fats are used to make glycerin, and glycerin is used to make things blow up.
As gunfire rings out, Welles does a Krunchies commercial, extolling their virtues with strawberries and cream.
WELLES: “You can have strawberries and cream. What do you need Krunchies for?”
Mickey is bleeding. During the commercial, Mickey has hit Flat Top on the head and called the police!
Tumblr media
John McIntire does a commercial for Mobil Oil. He urges motorists to keep their car oil clean to avoid repairs.
PART THREE
Welles introduces Ella Mae Morse, who sings “Shoo-Shoo Baby” backed by the All-Star Jazz Group.
Tumblr media
The song was also heard in the 1944 film Follow The Boys aka Three Cheers for the Boys sung by the Andrews Sisters.
Tumblr media
Welles then takes a serious tone, dedicating the show to the premise that ‘every man belongs to all men.’ He reads from “Meditation 17″ by John Donne (1572-1631).
Nunc Lento Sonitu Dicunt, Morieris. Now this bell, tolling softly for another, says to me, Thou must die.
All mankind is of one author, and is one volume; when one man dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book, but translated into a better language; and every chapter must be so translated; God employs several translators; some pieces are translated by age, some by sickness, some by war, some by justice; but God's hand is in every translation, and his hand shall bind up all our scattered leaves again for that library where every book shall lie open to one another. And therefore the bell that rings to a sermon calls not upon the preacher only, but upon the congregation to come, so this bell calls us all;  Who bends not his ear to any bell which upon any occasion rings? But who can remove it from that bell which is passing a piece of himself out of this world?
No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.
Welles bids the audience goodnight.

Ash vs Evil Dead: the Meza Brothers talk Apparently Dead – Exclusive Interview
The 12th of March was a normal Monday like many others and I had just finished watching the 3rd episode of Ash vs Evil Dead. While I was amazed at the thrilling fast-action paced episode, I was a little bit pissed about the Nielsen ratings from the previous week and about rumors of cancellation of my favourite TV show. I was going to sleep when suddenly I received a message from my friend Andrea Turel Caccese.
“Hey Ema! The Meza Brothers, directors of the 3rd episode, are on Reddit talking with fans. If I were you, I would ask them for an interview!
Exactly. The Meza brothers, directors of the 3rd episode and also great fans of the franchise, were on REDDIT asking fans for feedback about their episode.
So, challenge accepted, and I asked them to do an interview. Incredible – but true – they accepted and here were are, ready to reveal all the secrets of the “Apparently Dead” episode.
But first of all, a short introduction. I invite you to visit the Meza Brothers official website as it contains many interesting information about their careers. Andres and Diego Meza-Valdes are two brothers that created a bunch of horror shorts and have participated in film festivals winning awards for their efforts. Their movie “Boniato” was a nominee at the Sundance Film Festival in 2016 in the Short Film Grand Jury category. At the Viques International Film Festivalthey won in the Best Horror Short Film category.
So, here we go with the interview.
NAQB: You stated on REDDIT that you are Evil Dead huge fans. How did you fall in love with the franchise?
The Meza Brothers: We started out falling in love with Army of Darkness first. When the movie came out in 1992, we convinced our mother to let us see it at a very young age because the original poster looked like a comedy more than anything else, but we knew that it was much more than that. We were immediately struck by the mixture of slapstick comedy and dark action and how dynamic the movie was visually. As soon as Ash waved his boomstick around to unsuspecting villagers after an epic fight in a monster pit we knew it was an all-timer for us. From there we transitioned our love over to Evil Dead 2 as teenagers, and it surprised us how much more horror played a bigger role in that movie, with less of a focus in the comedy. Plus, as budding filmmakers, all the behind-the-scenes stories of the making of the movie (shooting in a school gym, blowing cigarette smoke around to simulate a foggy interior) inspired us to think we too can make something that cool. We would film our version of Evil Dead 2 in our backyard using some of those methods (not the cigarettes) – and obviously to a lesser result. Then came Evil Dead in college, where we were surprised to find some of our fellow students hadn’t even heard of the Evil Dead franchise. Shocked, we forced our film school to allow us access to the campus cinema to do midnight screenings, and the first one we did was Evil Dead. We wanted to prove to our filmmaker friends anything can be done – even with a shoestring budget. Something all aspiring students in film school should look up to – of course no one showed up – but at least we had the chance to see the original Evil Dead on the big screen.
NAQB: Have you a favourite moment or movie of the trilogy?
The Meza Brothers: There are too many moments in each of these movies to pick out a specific one.
NAQB: What was it like directing Bruce & the other cast members?
The Meza Brothers: Bruce was always a hero to us. Even aside from Evil Dead, we were gigantic fans of his mid-90’s show Brisco County Jr. We would watch that religiously, even arguing with friends at the time that Bruce would make the perfect replacement for Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. We even named our dog after his horse on the show, Comet. Flash forward to now and we are directing one of our heroes. In one particular moment, we had completely rearranged the coffin fight scene from what it was in the script. Originally, it was written for most of the action to happen in the viewing room. Both Ash and Candy would get flung around the room in the scuffle, and eventually the fight would end in the coffin, where Bruce would yank Candy’s head off with a fireplace poker he found. We felt that the fight needed something else, something fans (us) haven’t seen. So we rewrote it to take place inside the coffin the whole time, playing on the claustrophobia of having a deadite attack you in close quarters. Additionally, we added the funeral photo frame gag as a way of Ash disposing of Candy. We had always looked at Ash as the “Jackie Chan of horror” using anything around him to get rid of the threat – even if its not always the most practical tool. Whatever gets the job done. We were nervous, but anxious to show Bruce our storyboards. Who knows how he’d react. He looks through the pages of boards, looks back up at us, laughs and says “that shit is funny right there!”. From then on we knew if we brought creative and original ideas to the table we had Bruce on our side.
The rest of the cast members were also great to work with. Being that we were similar in age with all of the other actors, we set out to have more informal hang outs with them to get to know them a little better. We met with Ray Santiago at a great little bar he recommended, and drank the night away with him and his co-star Hemky Madera, who plays Brujo on the show. Similar with Dana Delorenzo and Lindsay Farris – we had an unforgettable night with those folks sharing war stories over drinks and pizza. It was great to chat with these guys as people outside of set, to really understand who they are and what makes them tick, and see if they have any insider information on their characters or the trajectory of the show that we could use to inform our decisions as directors. We found out Dana was a phenomenal writer, she always had amazing suggestions for scenes or little line tweaks that make the scene way better (she added the “snuff film” line in the chapel when the Ghostbeaters reuinite with Ash). Arielle [Carver-O’Neill] was also great – and shared in our proud nerdiness of Marvel movies and video games. We ended up hanging out with her at our AirBNB, watching fair slingshot videos to bet who was the one on the ride who was going to pass out first. it became a game we played regularly. She is so much fun and a great friend.
NAQB: In this episode Ghostbeaters visit the cabin site… without the cabin. As fans how did you feel about directing an episode in this “sacred” location in this particular “setting”? And as directors?
The Meza Brothers: As a fan, the way that scene was prepped was a dream come true. In it, we knew there was going to be an opportunity to tip our hat to the fans since we’d be revisiting the cabin site we’re all familiar with and love. Walking into the prop department, the awesome team had all the iconic props layed out on a blanket on the floor. We literally just walked around and picked what we wanted. We saw the grandfather clock and we yelled “That one!”. Saw the curvy lamp and said “Definitely this”. It was a fanboys dream.
NAQB: I loved the scene in which the demonic force hit and swept away Dalton. It is a cool homage to the Evil Dead 2 scene in which the kandarian demon throws Ash through the woods. How did you realized this scene/effect?
The Meza Brothers: As the night was getting long and the sun was coming up (all the wood scenes were shot late into the night in the bitter cold of New Zealand, and we even got rained out a couple times) we knew we had to get our shots of the evil force POV. With 15 minutes left in our shooting schedule and obviously very little time left, one of the amazing crew members quickly grabbed the camera and ran into the dark woods by himself. It was a crazy visual to see a tired crew member run into the dark abyss of seriously creepy woods. Without him we would have never gotten the shot needed to serve as the background for the effect. Later on in production, we hoisted Lindsay on wires in the air in one of the studios and had him react to the evil force. From there, post-production magic took care of the rest. it was very simple at the time, and even easier now with the advancements in technology, but we wanted to homage the original evil force scene that you are mentioning. We even had it on set, showing the crew members what we wanted. We are happy fans have picked up on the reference.
NAQB: What was your favorite scene to direct?
The Meza Brothers: The cop out, easy answer would be to say that all of them were our favorite, but they really were. We are huge fans of the horror genre and fans of the franchise – so we were soaking in every moment. On set, every time there was a gore effect in play, there we would be, literally jumping up and down by the monitors with excitement. Even in the moments that were insanely stressful (and they always are) we would turn to each other and say “Can you believe we are here?”
If we have to pick out specific moments there were two. One was the funeral scene where Ash exits the coffin in front of all the unsuspecting guests. That day we had 50 very patient extras and Bruce was firing on all cylinders. There was so much to that scene that had to be cut, a lot of great comedic moments. We had hit our stride as directors with Bruce, and we were bouncing ideas off of each other back and forth, creating new dynamics to the scene that didn’t show up on the page. Bruce is a consummate professional and always hit his marks, lines and his timing – every time. But that day, he was a little loose and having some fun improving with us. That scene also featured the Ghostbeaters with Ash for the first time in the episode, so as fans of the show from the very beginning, it was awesome to see all of them together on screen, and to be able to work with the Ghostbeaters was definitely a pinch-me moment.
And then the scene with Arielle inside Cheryl’s bedroom. We are particularly proud of that Crimson and Clover scene because we developed that from scratch. We knew Brandy as a character needed to have a real moment where she connects with Ash, not so much as the deadite slaying madman the town knows him to be, but as a person – and her father. We had talked to Arielle about that specific scene from the moment we landed on set. She did a fantastic job.
NAQB: How much time does it take you to direct an episode? Did you have a tight schedule?
The Meza Brothers: This was our first go round doing television but from what I am told it is always tight and hectic. There is a lot to shoot and vey little time. Especially for a show like this that requires so much more than a television show typically requires. There are plenty of visual effects, gore gags, fight sequences. A lot to do but truly all the credit goes to the amazing crew they have out there. They are the true gatekeepers of Ash vs Evil Dead. They are the (bloody) heartbeat of the show. Without their talent and hard work the show wouldnt be what it is. Being as inexperienced as we were was completely concealed by the amazing crew guiding us and protecting us.
Thanks to the amazing Meza Brothers and I hope you have enjoyed the interview.

Fuck You;  Bill Skarsgard
bill x female reader
--
“If you want me, you will never speak to her or see her again. If you want to do those things, you will never speak to me or see me again. Still sure about you choice?”
“Of course, yes, she’s gone. I swear.”
“Do it now.”
He swallowed hard and grabbed his phone, his hands shaking the entire time.
“Bill, do you have feelings for her?”
“No, no I could never.”
“Now is the time to admit it. You need to tell me the absolute truth right now.”
“I know that I love you..” he trailed off and averted his gaze from mine, “but I just feel really close to her for some reason. She’s like my best friend, I feel like a part of me would be missing if I were to just completely close her off.”
“You’ve made your choice then,” I closed my eyes tightly to keep the tears from escaping without my consent.
“No,” he grabbed my hand before I could turn to leave the room, “I can’t lose you. Please understand how hard this is for me.”
“It’s easy, Bill. If you love me and want this to work, you’ll get rid of anything that stands in the way of our relationship. This isn’t just a crush, someone you’ve randomly fantasized about in your bunk when you’re lonely. You’ve slept with her more than once. There is a connection between the two of you.”
“That’s why it’s hard.”
“Because there’s a connection? That’s because you have feelings. If you have feelings for someone while you’re in a relationship you aren’t fully committed and you aren’t really in love with that person.”
“That isn’t true, I am in love with you. It’s different with her.”
“No, Bill, it isn’t. Tell me right now, can you erase her from your life?”
“That’s not fair.”
“So the answer is no?”
“I can’t just toss her to the curb like that.”
“So you cannot erase her from your life completely?”
“No.”
He couldn’t look at me. His green eyes were glued to the ground and I wanted nothing more than for him to say it was just a stupid mistake and that he loved me and that she was nothing. He couldn’t though. Despite whatever he said, whatever feelings he had for me, he had them for her too. They were different, they were probably stronger. The tears threatened to fall again.
“I really thought you were the love of my life and I don’t even think that’s a thing. I never bought into the idea of soulmates until I met you. I knew going into this would be hard because you’re fucking famous,” my voice wavered slightly, “but I thought we could make it work because you were the one.”
Bill’s cheeks reddened and he couldn’t make direct eye contact with me. I knew it was over and I knew that I would spend who knows how long trying to get over the fact that I had lost him because I wasn’t able to travel the world by his side.
“You were the one. Not now though, now your feelings are for someone else and I can’t do anything about it. I love you so much and I wish it was enough but it just isn’t.”
“I never meant for this happen. I never wanted to hurt you.”
It was an admission of guilt. Bill had fallen in love with someone else while I was on the other side of the world and there was nothing I could do about it. All I could do was let him go and try to put myself back together, post Bill Skarsgard.
“I love you so much, please don’t forget that. I have loved you since that stupid party we met at. You spilled your beer on my shoes and I was so pissed but you were so wonderful and kind. I’m going to miss the hell out of you.”
“I-i’m so sorry.”
The words themselves seemed to tremble as they left his lips. Tears didn’t escape past his eyes, though. His mouth didn’t curve into a frown that was so desperately trying not to cry.
He didn’t want to hurt me, but he was happy it was over. He was happy it was over because he was ready to move on.
And that, he did.
*
“BILL SKARSGARD AND STYLE ICON GIRLFRIEND SPLIT AFTER THREE YEARS OF ROMANCE.”
The headline was splashed across the pages of all of the pathetic tabloids.
“FAHSION DESIGNER LEAVES ACTOR IN FIT OF RAGE AND JEALOUSY.”
“BILL SKARSGARD CHEATS! THE STAR HAS MULTIPLE SECRET RELATIONSHIPS.”
“HE NEVER LOVED ME! FASHIONISTA TELLS ALL!”
I had tried my hardest to completely forget him, but it was difficult when he was so ridiculously famous. In the three years since we had broken up, his acting career had skyrocketed, and so had the career of his stylist. She had become one of the most prominent designers in the fashion world.
At first they were lovely and smiles, but photos of them looking incredibly unhappy had recently graced the covers of magazines and there were constant rumors of the both of them being unfaithful.
The emails had started about a month ago and I had ignored every single one of them. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to speak to him, it was that I couldn’t. Bill had done a number on me and I wasn’t going to let him do it again.
Not only had he cheated on me, which led to him falling love with someone else and breaking my heart, he did it so the world could see. They were a confirmed couple to the media just days after our own break up. Bill had always claimed our relationship was important and special and that was why he didn’t want to share it with anyone.
His fans praised them, saying they were adorable and a perfect fit and it was “finally time for Bill to settle down.”  He had already settled down though. We had lived together for quite some time and it was incredibly painful watching him move out and returning home to an empty apartment.
I backed out of the lease a month later, luckily my landlord understood and let me go without paying extra fees. It was too hard living in a place with all of our memories. It was too hard scrolling through Twitter while laying in OUR bed and seeing photos of them together acting like newlyweds.
The newlywed phase was over now though. Scrolling through my inbox, I opened Bill’s latest email.
“I wish you would just talk to me. You changed your number, you moved out of our apartment. It’s like you’re trying to make it seem like I was never here. I was though, I still am. I love you.”
I spent the next two days debating whether I should respond to him, maybe just to let him know that i’m still alive. Sitting down at my laptop, I typed up a quick draft of what I would send.
It was the typical “don’t worry” type of email and I may have allowed my feelings to get the best of me by telling him that I missed him and there was a part of me that would always love him.
A week or so passed with no response. He was in the middle of a world tour, so it made sense. Logging into Twitter, I saw that his name was a trending topic. What I saw when I opened the first article nearly caused me to have a heart attack.
“THEY’RE BACK ON! BILL SKARSGARD ENGAGED TO FASHION MOGUL! TRUE LOVE NEVER DIES!”
He had spent months sending me emails of things he had written, which he claimed were about me. He had attached photos of himself and his friends goofing around and all of the beautiful parts of the world he had captured. All this time, never being able to speak to me or even getting the satisfaction of a response but he kept doing it.
It reminded me of when we first met, how at first he was so caring and tried his hardest to make sure I didn’t feel alone when he was on set. The recent emails were just like the texts and phone calls he had sent on his first movie after we moved in together. They were hopeful. They were probably bullshit then, and definitely bullshit now.
What got me the most were all of the apologies he had sent. Always saying that he made a mistake by leaving and made an even bigger mistake by outing their relationship so now he couldn’t get away without the media scrutiny and that he grown to hate her but he had to pretend he didn’t. He said he loved how it was never like that with me, it was never about paparazzi photos or red carpets. It was just about us and he would do anything to get that back if I would just give him a chance. He claimed what we had was “real” and what they had was fabricated and so much different behind closed doors.
Here he was now, pictured in Times fucking Square, one of the busiest, most visible places in the goddamn world, down on one knee giving a giant diamond to someone he “completely loathed.”
Bill had grown to love the attention. The Bill I knew was gone and had been replaced by this spotlight loving asshole. The traces of the old him only left in my memories and in some of the emails I would never respond to again. He had learned to manipulate everyone around him and it made me wonder how much of what he had been saying to me was just a lie to get me back on his side.
Probably all of it.
Trying to collect my scattered thoughts and slow my racing heart, I fired off one last email to Bill.
“Fuck you.”

The Executive order on creating schedule F: Is this true?( It is always amazing that these old white men act so stupid on the front lines while behind the scenes they are always thinking. )Trump signed an executive order to fuck with the Pendleton civil service reform act. By changing the word ‘competitive’ to ‘excepted’, it gets rid of an employee’s ability to appeal dismissal and changes it to the pleasure of the President. Essentially, if he finds a civil servant disloyal, they could be dismissed and replaced by whomever. This act removes the career merit program. The deadline for review of these people is January 19. If he chose to he could fire many that are working today and replace them with his own people even if he loses. The order applies to about 9 million confidential, policy determining, policy making and policy advocating servants. Biden can come in and try to change things but it won’t help that many Federal courts have new appointees from the current administration.

*****
New information is coming out about the Mueller investigation. The WH sort of threatened the team about their investigation. If the people being investigated can kill an investigation, we don’t have a democracy. If the WH is suing about everything that is being looked into, how can anyone really look into it? Most people would not cooperate for they know if anything is found, they would be pardoned so why put it out there.

The first town hall with Biden was good. How reassuring to hear a level headed leader. Why does the audience always think they have to ask a 5 min question? Let’s move it along so we can get somewhere. And, really.. who in this country has not made up their mind who to vote for? I guess that is why candidates have to campaign for 2 years. Biden seemed like the camera man got a little under his skin but it had to be filmed.  He said that we should make Roe a law. ** NBC decided to give Trump airtime on the same night as Biden’s town hall. The conspiracy President cancelled the debate so at least we will hear what Biden is saying. At this point, they should both be put behind glass to keep them and the rest of us safe.** Stay calm after the election and remember that the election is not even certified until December.
*****
The last debate showed a very restrained Trump. He actually said, “I appreciate that” when he was allowed to talk another minute. He actually did shut up and listen. It’s pretty sad when we praise him for behaving normally. Biden sounded quite regal and made sense but more detail would have been nice. I am not sure why Scary Clown got on Biden for selling pillows and sheets.

GUESSING GAME:
DEATHLY REGRETS
The night was beginning to show itself, the moon was patiently rising as the sun falls with glowing perfection. Noisy crickets could be heard in the background as they sing their unrhymed lullaby and the whispering wind was singing along to complete the calming atmosphere. But unfortunately, the loud chattering of unmannered and rather excited school kids disturbed the surreal environment.
The chaotic commotion of laughter and yelling was frowned upon by the young and petite girl that always loved the peace and quietness of the dark. She was standing in front of a high and protected fence that led to the school buildings, already dressed for the special occasion in a white layered dress with many patterns and ruffles sowed on. As the dark flowed over the buildings the appearance of it seemed to change drastically to an uninviting and can I say sinister look. An unnerving feeling stirred inside the girl’s stomach, one of angst and fear. She swallowed the unwanted emotions down as she went towards the gate, lifting her dress to avoid the dirt. The shadow of the gate falls over her and somehow that makes her intestines knot once more. With a shaky hand she reaches for the old and rusted handle, with a deathly thigh grip she swings the gate open. A clash is heard as the gate makes contact with the fence, making the girl flinch at the sudden noise. The girl follows the cracked cement pathway to the entrance building, putting unsurely one foot in front of the other till the end of the pathway was only one step away. Lifting her eyes from the pathway, she sees two wooden doors. The doors were chipped at the side giving it a vintage look and a piece of paper as roughly taped onto it. The paper had words typed onto it that said, “Concert helpers or actors ONLY.” Shacking her shoulders to get rid of the stress, the girl opens the two doors. The doors let out a long creak as they slide open. Welcoming the source of light, the girl steps into the building.
Teachers and student helpers run like hunted animals around to prepare for the show, nothing new, but the girl still can’t seem to shake the uneasy feeling that seems to rush over her like a thundering waterfall. Unlike the outside that was rather rustic and old, the inside of the building was modern and up-to-date. Funny enough, the rooms were decorated with old historic pieces, giving it a fascinating and eye-catching look. From lanterns to patterned cloths and even statues, littered every part of the gigantic school. Pushing through the crowed halls, she finally reaches her classroom out of breath and desperate to avoid any further physical contact.
The windows that looked inside the classroom was filled with light that shined on the back wall and voices of unauthorized children traveled through the halls. She hesitantly steps into the open classroom, kids of all shapes and sizes socialized in the room with blooming smiles. Some had their outdated costumes on, others were doing their makeup calmly and few just arrived in a haste. In the corners you could see children practicing their lines to precision, waving their hands in the air and swaying their hips ever so often. The kids that were rather confident in their memory and appearance, were sitting on the desks in a huddle, laughing at who knows what and whispering about whatever rumors that float around.
The girl goes unnoticed but not for long, as she sits on her chair with a struggle due to her annoying dress, all eyes shift to her. A noticeable blush covers her cheeks, she brings her eyes towards her desk in attempt to avoid eye contact. But to no vail, a rough hand grasps her chin and lifts it to the sealing. In the corner of her eyes she would faintly see a boy, a popular bully to be exact. The bully gives her a cocky smirk, he knew too well that her honor and self-respect was close to nonexistent.
“Hey twat, got something to hide, you look awfully guilty?” he pushes his face uncomfortably close to the girl’s and tightens his grip. Her face was beginning to ace and her chubby cheeks were squished together, now redder then before. Rapping her dainty finger around his wrist, she pulls his hand from her face with a sudden bust of confidence and strength. He holds a dumbfound expression on his face, but in a blink of an eye it changes to one of rage. Fear crawls up her spine, she didn’t know how to handle the situation and walk out unharmed. She whips her head around the room in a pathetic attempt to ask for a savior, but the cowardly crowd that has formed around them turns their heads in the other direction. Cowards, utter cowards. She slowly brings her attention back to the mighty monster that always seemed to brake her enthusiasm and spirit. “John! Why are you wasting your time on her? She isn’t anything special.” All attention shifts to a tall girl at the back of the class, including John’s.
“My oh my, Casandra, baby, why are you standing up for this dweeb? I thought you were better than that. That’s why I took you in, am I wrong? Are you also worthless? Pathetic? Huh?” The room falls dead silent, Casandra’s head hangs in worthlessness. Everyone knows that going against him is a death wish. It’s a blood red target slowly sowed into the skin which is used frequently and mercilessly. Casandra steps defeated back into the crowd, leaving her honor behind along with the petite girl’s hope.
John’s neck cracks as he turns back towards the dread-filled girl. His maniacal expression shakes her to her core and with an irritated voice he demands, “Bow.” After a few seconds of her being paralyzed from fear, he demands again, “Bow!” Nothing happens, no one moves. A cricket could be heard in the distance and all it took was just that millisecond distraction for the girl to jump up and dart out the room like a flaming hot bullet. She keeps her head straight, not look back for whatever reason, not even when she could hear the thundering footsteps of a monster that follows her. Her pestering white dress flows in all directions as she turns around corners and run up stairs, tripping and falling every now and then. Her hard and rapid breaths echo in her ears, her quick steps purely powered by fear and determination. Her limbs start to ace from lack of exercise and her eyes scatter all over the room in search for an exit.
The search comes up empty as she turns around a corner to only find a few steps that lead to a dead-end. Her pounding heart stops, only now does she clearly understand her situation. She wasn’t doing to get off the hook easy, no not at all, she was doing to regret wat she has done and no amount of helplessly begging was unfortunately going to change that. He had never hit her before, there was a thick black line drawn between emotional abuse and physical abuse, even admitting that it in fact was abuse, frightened her. Fixing her eyes on the wall, she hears the angry footsteps and psychotic aura of her tormentor creeping closer.
The aggravated noises stop just a few feet away from her, but her fear stopped her from turning around. It stopped her from turning around and looking in his eyes, because for what she will see in his eyes will be knee-buckling. She hadn’t seen this side of him before, no, this side of her brother was unknown of. Yes, she had seen bits and pieces of this cold and quite maniacal demeanor, but this, this was horrifying. He had always disliked her to a great extent, but now she knows that he doesn’t dislike her, no, he gut-wrenchingly hates her with all his heart to the point where it hurts. Bullying her wasn’t enough of a punishment for him, he had to make her life a living nightmare to be just the slightest bit satisfied and unknowingly he achieved just that.
“You think you’re just the best, don’t you? You think that you’re all above the rest and that we’re nothing but trash that isn’t worth your precise time, huh? Answer me! Am I talking to a wall? Am I?” A sorrowful sob spills out her lips, she lifts her shaking hands towards her face and starts wiping her uncontrollable tears away. The tears however don’t stop and that seemed to anger her brother to his exploding point.
“You just feel so sorry for yourself. You don’t even think about how you ruined my life, how you took my perfect life and tore it to unfixable pieces! You’re… you’re… you’re so… selfish! You worthless brat, you took my mother away from me! You took her…” His voice started to fade as he thought about his dearly loved mother.
Before he could get stuck in his line of memories, his damped expression changes to one of merciless rage and before he could stop himself, he lifts his fist and makes contact with her back. Pain shoots through her back like a burning fire which makes her stumble forward with a cry of pain.
The steps.
Her eyes widen in realization as she feels the air envelope her fully, swallowing her whole. John’s breathe hitches as he sees his sister temporarily flying over the stairs, her hair falling in her face with terrified look plastered on her face. With a loud bang she lands head first on the white tile floors, blood oozes out her open wound, staining to floors with a dark red. Blood splatters on his costume, his black and blue suit now corrupted with red ink and the stench of guilty death. His traumatized face turns away from her lifeless body, her oversized white dress now a beautiful shade of pink. He doesn’t want to see the life fade from his sister’s eyes nor the warmth and glowing of her skin spill out of her like a spilled cup of coffee.  He doesn’t want to remember what he had regretfully done to her and how he took her spirit and broke it to millions of pieces, how he broke her.
The air thickens, he struggles to breathe properly. He starts gulping for air in a desperate manner and no matter how hard he tries to fight his emotions, they still start spiraling out like an unforgiving tornado. He did this, he took his sisters life. He deserves to be eaten alive by guilt, he deserves to burn in the deps of hell like all the other sinners.
“S...sorry,” he stutters.
“Sorry,” he repeats.
“Sorry.” He clutches his head as an annoying screech travels through his mind.
“Sorry.” The screech’s volume heightens.
“Sorry.” He falls to his knees, his head falling to the floor with hands trying to clutch onto something.
“Sorry.” He could faintly hear the sound of steps in the distance, coming closer and closer.
“Sorry.” He could care less about the unknown person catching him red-handed in killing his sister, he could care less about anything to be honest.
“Sor…” A voice cuts his prayers short, “John?”
It was Casandra’s voice.

Video game Of Thrones (Television set Series)
The Gods of Wine and Tits, Jim and , critique each week's event of HBO's Game of Thrones and your responses. Before we get into what happened previous nighttime in the space of 71 short minutes of esteem wire, some housekeeping: if you seek advice from the guidelines of Video game of Game of Thrones , you'll observe that killing a White Master netting you 15 points, but there can be no authentic point allocation for getting rid of a wight. Despite the untold millions of dollars it costs to develop Game of Thrones, it turns out the HBO show's costume custom made outlets at IKEA just like the leftovers of us. The concerts was very exciting and do a wonderful task blending details about Iceland and it's record with details about the filming of Video game of Thrones in Iceland (it was a Video game of Thrones travel). GAME OF THRONES: The Touring Convention will offer supporters around the globe an chance to stage inside Westeros and the gets beyond. I perform think we are supposed to get rooting for Sansa to demonstrate she's a Stark first of all and primarily, and simply no much longer an unwitting pawn in anyone else's video game. A Video game of Thrones is definitely not. Arya Stark made it home in the fourth instance of 'Game of Thrones' Period 7. Scroll through for extra images from the period, including Sunday's, "The Spoils of War." Mild spoilers for the shows comply with. The size of Thrones' controversies own, at times, been just as large as its following. What will be critics declaring about "Valar Morghulis," last night's second-season finale for HBO's struck Video game of Thrones? Alarming: H.R. McMaster Brooms Conservatives and Trump Loyalists from NSC
Aug 3, 2017
RUSH: The H. R. McMaster stuff. Folks, this to me is troubling. We have heard, I mean, you and me, the American people, people paying attention, have heard that there are factions inside the White House and in the deep state that are trying to undermine Trump. You are very well aware of this. So am I.
Some people are worried and have expressed their concern that it’s even people Trump has nominated who may actually be sandbaggers because of all of this leaking. All of this leaking cannot simply come from Obama or Clinton holdovers, like the transcript the Washington Post had of these phone calls to the president of Mexico and the president of Australia. These calls happened within Trump’s first two weeks. The full transcripts were sent over to the Washington Post, and they have published them today. And how does that happen?
I’m just gonna tell you this. You’re Donald Trump, you’re president of the United States, you can’t conduct genuinely productive conversations with anybody if you think that it’s all gonna be made public at some point. You just can’t. You know, even ordinary citizens not in politics who are not celebrities, not in public eye, I sometimes get email from people who put a joke addendum like a disclaimer at the bottom, “If this email is ever made public, I didn’t say what it says here.”
Because everybody’s now worried that what they say in an email to anybody might someday be made public. The moment you believe that, no matter who you are, it is going to limit your openness and your honesty to people you’re having conversations with. It’s no different than putting a camera someplace.
The moment you deposit a camera, say, in a corner in a busy neighborhood or bring a camera into the board of directors meeting or anywhere, you put a camera where people know it’s there, whatever happens after that is artificial. At least for a while. It takes awhile for people to become accustomed to its presence and forget that it’s there. But when they first know it’s there, you wouldn’t believe how self-conscious everybody gets. It’s natural, part of the human existence. There’s a camera there, people looking at me. There’s pictures there.
So you become self-conscious of the way you look. You become self-conscious of who you’re sitting next to. You become self-conscious of your clothing and your attire. You become self-conscious of the way you look when you speak. You become self-conscious of what you’re saying. And the moment you, anybody, becomes dominated by self-consciousness, you’re finished. That’s the end of the real you.
That’s why actors get paid big bucks. Actors are able to broom all self-consciousness. If theyre not able to do that, they’re not able to act. And the average human being cannot do it. The average human being, in truth, cannot stop thinking about him- or herself. The average human being is always thinking about him- or herself and thinks everybody else is thinking about him or her. They forget, you forget that everybody else is not paying attention to you because they’re still all focused on themselves like you are focused on yourself.
But the human ego is an amazing thing. It forces you to be so self-conscious and self-aware, and then you tell yourself that everybody else is paying attention to you too. Now, they might be critical of you, they might be approving, but most people think people look at them critically, with disapproval. It’s amazing how often human beings attach perfection to the people they think are judging them, rather than realize everybody’s a mess, everybody’s screwed up. It’s one of the fascinating things about human nature to me.
I’m just telling you, if you’re Trump, and you can’t even pick up the phone and call the president of somebody with the freedom of knowledge that nobody else is gonna hear it, then how open are you ever gonna be? You’re gonna immediately start talking and saying things not based on whether they are smart or wise or need to be said, but rather you’re gonna say things in case it goes public so that you look good or don’t make a mistake or what have you. I don’t know how anybody can conduct true official business like this. So it is another attempt at paralyzing Trump, all of these leaks.
Now we get to the news that H. R. McMaster, who runs the president’s National Security Council, H. R. McMaster, military guy, bald-headed, I remember when Trump appointed him. Flynn had this gig first and they got rid of Flynn because Flynn had supposedly lied to Mike Pence about what he had said to the Russian ambassador at lunch. When Trump chose H. R. McMaster, it happened to be during — I think it was January-February, because Trump was at Mar-a-Lago, and the announcement was made at Mar-a-Lago. And I will never forget the Drive-By Media and the Washington establishment celebrated, “Oh, this is wonderful.”
I mean, even some in the Republican establishment, “This is absolutely phenomenal. This reassures us to no end. H. R. McMaster. This is great. This proves that Trump is knowing what he’s doing.” I was alarmed. I mean, any time the swamp stands up and approves something Trump’s doing, that, to me, is a disconnect.
But I went with it because what are we gonna do? Not gonna be able to talk Trump out of it so he chooses H. R. McMaster. There have been leaks about what’s going on in the National Security Council, but yesterday leaks became reality. H. R. McMaster fired, it turns out, three Trumpists. The big name that got fired yesterday was Ezra Cohen-Watnick.
Ezra Cohen-Watnick is a thoroughbred. He’s a young Millennial thoroughbred conservative, and it was Ezra Cohen who led Devon Nunes to the intel in the White House that demonstrated some of the chicanery that was going on. He’s a totally devoted Trump loyalist and a conservative and an Iran hawk. H. R. McMaster fired him yesterday. Before that he had fired somebody else named Rich Higgins who was seen as an ally of White House chief strategist Steve Bannon. He was let go on July 21st.
Another person has been let go. This person, I think, is Victoria Coates. I’m not sure of the first name, but she was Ted Cruz’s foreign policy strategist during his campaign for president. So (it’s hyphenated name) Ezra Cohen-Watnick and Rich Higgins, you could say, were allies of Steve Bannon. They were solid conservatives. Ezra Cohen was the senior director for intelligence on the National Security Council. As I say, he was described as a hawk on Iran. He wanted to rework some of the laziness that has existed now in our dealings with Iran vis-a-vis the Iran nuclear policy.
He also… This is a big one. Ezra Cohen wanted to focus on outing whoever these embeds are in the deep state and get rid of ’em, and H. R. McMaster, from what I’m told, doesn’t think that’s a problem. I’m also told from little birds that H. R. McMaster doesn’t think Susan Rice or Samantha Power pose a problem and this unmasking thing is much ado about nothing. Now, there is a triumvirate here. You have H. R. McMaster and Mattis (the secretary of defense), and maybe General Kelly (chief of staff). They could well be a team. McMaster is also a protege of David Petraeus.
The reason all this may matter is that these guys have their own ideas of military and foreign policy regarding the Middle East, and I think it’s H. R. McMaster, if I’m not mistaken, who if he had his druthers, there wouldn’t be a Syria. He’d wipe ’em out. Or maybe there wouldn’t be a Bashar al-Assad. But a lot of people are scratching their heads now over H. R. McMaster getting rid of Bannonites and conservatives and Trumpists from the National Security Council. These are guys that believe that the deep state has got a bunch of rogues in it and need to be cleaned out.
And pardon me for saying so, folks. But it appears here that there’s a cabal that is being set up among Trump supporters that really doesn’t think the deep state’s any big problem — and doesn’t think that Susan Rice or Samantha Power or any of this unmasking is any kind of big problem — and are getting rid of people who are deeply loyal to Trump. And you have to think (this is common sense) in the entire national security foreign policy establishment — and it is an establishment.
In fact, it is a huge part of the, quote-unquote, “ruling class establishment.” You have to believe there’s some people in this group that think Trump doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing, “I mean, he’s a construction guy from Manhattan by way of Queens! I mean, for crying out loud, the guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about,” and who might be inclined here to, well, use the power of their closeness to Trump to influence foreign policy and so forth.
Reportedly Trump is livid. Now, again, these are things I can’t personally confirm. But apparently Trump is livid over some of these changes McMaster’s making. But I don’t know if that means McMaster or anybody else is in trouble. It was rumored a couple months ago that McMaster was on thin ice. Over what, I forget now. But there’s all kinds of intrigue going on behind the scenes that we still don’t know quite how to interpret.
