One aspect of cryptocurrency that attracts people to participate that I find hypocritical is that it’s a decentralized form of real currency. Users who participate in the market may do it because it gives them freedom from monopolies or platforms such as governments. Granted the act of making your own currency could be considered an independent act, but here’s the thing. Who gives them the complex equations to brute solve or the incentive to use computing power? The crytocurrency systems like bitcoin. They give out the sources and tools needed to mine this stuff and they own the rights to those. If they wanted to, the systems could just close down and the users who participate would lose the fruits of their labor. Is it really fair to call cryptocurrency decentralized when it’s still managed by central groups? It’s probably still considered that because it’s not held by the government. It’s still centralized by corporations my dudes
