wait wait wait, how does spike still remember raph?. Because from what I understand they haven't spent enough time for spike to have any kind of very clear memory about him, as he and Titan switched places before any kind of memory has been created.

So I thought Spike only remembered little Raph specifically the red color of his bandana, and his voice when he was talking to him asking how he ended up in the sewers.

So Raph must have picked him up to take him home and with that Spike entered his shell and took a nap, and when he woke up he was no longer with little Raph, thus having a not very clear memory about Raph more enough to deduce that he was a good person and honor him by wearing a red mask?

He remembers the Tiny Raph that saved him. Spike has a very good memory in the show, and here he thinks of Raph as the one who saved his life.

(Being fr about that memory part, spike can hold a huge fucking grudge stg-)

So, while he doesn't have all those fond memories from growing up with him, he's still quite sad when he's separated, so he wears the bandana to honor him.

He doesn't need a ton of memories to be grateful that he's been saved :D

This is from an episode I rewatched recently, Raph was just talking to his brothers and I noticed that he was holding a popcorn in his hand Spike tried to eat…

When he ate it Raph got another popcorn for him :D

Ya know something? In the episode of the 2012 series Slash and Destroy (I believe that's the name), when Spike had started attacking Raph's brothers can you imagine how hard that must have been for Raph to witness?

Like here's this turtle who's been his pet for years now freshly mutated and acting like Raph and his brothers and him are all on the same team, but in reality Spike is picking off Raph's brothers one by one and Raph has no idea that Spike's behind Donnie's disappearance until Mikey literally begs Raph to help him find Donnie and Raph of course is all for it because that's his little brother who's missing and he wants to find him too. And here he's thinking Spike's gonna help them find Donnie because they're all family and that's what families do......

Only to watch Spike literally smash Mikey straight into the ground with the full intention of killing him.

Like could you imagine how Raph felt at that moment? Could you imagine the hurt and betrayal he felt when he saw essentially his best friend attack his baby brother?? Imagine the horror and dread he must of felt when he realized that Donnie's disappearance was Spike's doing??? Imagine the ungodly fear he felt when he realizes that Leo's not with him and his brothers and has no idea about Spike's agenda??? Imagine the guilt he felt when he realized that he may have very well unintentionally played a massive role in his friend's sudden agenda????

Like that's a horrifying thing to endure when you really think about, when you think about how Raph had nearly had his brothers murdered right in front of him by his mutated childhood pet, all because he said things to this little turtle during his anger driven rants. Like as soon as Spike does this and Raph of course freaks out on him and Spike's like-

"They're holding you back Raphael! If we just get rid of them-!"

And Raph just responds along the lines of-

"My brothers drive me crazy yes, but I don't want them gone-!"

Just this whole thing you realize just how terrified Raph is at that moment, you realize exactly what he's actually feeling because at this moment his brothers could be taken from him and by someone who he trusted with his life. Like could you imagine??? And to make it even worse for him, when Raph realizes that Spike won't stop trying to kill his brothers unless he's forcibly stopped, he has to make that heavy decision of choosing his best friend and life long pet or his brothers lives and he doesn't even hesitate to choose his brothers and their safety. Even though fighting Spike was probably one of the most emotionally devastating things he's ever had to do within his lifetime, even though he never wanted things to end up like that he still chooses that path and fights Spike with everything he has powering through those emotions and that turmoil because his brothers lives are on the line and he'd be damned if something happened to them while he was alive and breathing.

Raph fights him and he himself nearly gets taken down at one point and his two little brothers who are hurt and unable to really fight try to take on Spike themselves to protect their older brother and end up getting even more hurt. Like can you imagine how Raph must felt? Can you imagine how awful that was to see his already hurt little brothers get even more hurt because they were trying to protect him while he was down for the count for that brief moment??? Just this whole thing Raph had to go through so much horrifying shit and in the end of it all he had to take Spike down by throwing him off a building because if he didn't do it and he'd let Spike win he would have very much lost Mikey, Donnie and Leo. He would have lost his brothers to the one person who he thought had his back and that was something he couldn't let happen.

Like when you really think about it Raph went through something traumatic during that whole thing, had experienced so many emotions and so many scares in that brief span of one night, and after all was said and done he had to make one of the most difficult choices in his life yet he did it anyway because his brothers were more important to him than his friendship with Spike. Yet he's still probably filled with that grief of losing a friend, filled with that betrayal of having his back essentially be stabbed by someone he trusted, filled with that fear of having his brothers taken from him permanently because of his anger, filled with that guilt of possibly being partially responsible for his brothers near demise because of his angry rants he told to Spike, rants that when he'd finally calmed down from them he never really truly meant anything that he'd said in his anger.

Just.....my God it's sometimes hard to remember that the other turtles in the 2012 series also faced some horrific shit because a lot of the times Leo's the one who's throwing himself into the flames for his family but his brothers have been through a lot too and they too are just as scarred as Leo and it's honestly so sad when you think about how much they've all been through.

NewYork just like other tmnt iterations, but since this au is a crossover with ben 10 there are places like undertown that the turtles go to (think hidden city but for aliens) and they have other places like mr smoothy.

🐱 Do any of your characters have pets?

YES!! first off, raph and spike

she has spike as her pet and yes he does mutate and is a part of the foot later on lol. spike is a very old tortoise that splinter and shen had and he was one of the animals that didnt get mutated with the others. raph is super attached to spike theyre best-friends for ever, splinter also enjoys spike's company.

next is mikey and klunk

they all had klunk since she was a kitten (found her in the sewers), and they've had her for 11 years. splinter wasn't into the idea of keeping a cat in the sewers especially since he has allergies and is lowkey scared of cats (leo too, he's scared of most animals) but he can't say no to mikey so they kept her. klunk mutates into an ice-cream kitty (mango) because donnie didn't bother putting mutagen away safely. but its all good she's a happy ice-cream kitty

and finally, donnie

I love ship from ben 10 and i thought it would be kewl to give donnie ship as a pet because you know? tech but in my au mikey names it chip instead because it kept eating computer chips (i changed the biology of galvanic mechamorphs and made it so they can eat chips, wires, metals and such) donnie meets chip in a similar way to how julie and ben did, but I'm currently working on a comic for that so no spoiler!! :3

Leo doesn't have pets nor does he want any. he can barely handle the fact that there are many in the lair. he hates animals because they freak him out and he thinks they're gross. but if he sees a dog, and he's having a good day, he might pet it

hi goodmorning i have an angsty headcanon:

One of the reasons 2012 Leo doesn't have a pet is because when they were tots, Splinter found a small cat in a sewer drain - only just a kitten

Despite his mutation, he couldn't just leave it, so he took it home and attempted to nurse it back to good health

Leo helped a lot, and was so intrigued by this new creature his Dad brought home

And then he & the kitten became inseparable

But this was during the time when things were still hard for the Hamatos. When they could barely get food for themselves, and when the portable heaters could provide only just enough heat to get them through the winter chill

And living in the sewers, especially in a cold Lair that wasn't as furnished as it is today, it was no condition to keep a pet cat

Unfortunately, the kitten passed only a few months after its rescue, and it devastated Leo

Splinter had taught them about the circle of life, and of course the hardships that come when facing death, but Leo was merely a tot, and he couldn't quite grasp that the world could be so cruel as to take away his furry best friend

So when Spike came along, he avoided the tortoise at all costs, leaving Raph to care for him

But Leo fed Spike lettuce when Raph was sick, and made sure the tortoise had a good enclosure, and stole Donnie's laptop to do endless research on tortoise care because he couldn't bear the thought of having his brother lose his pet just as he lost his

And when Ice Cream Kitty became part of the family, Leo was relieved, because ICK's a mutant cat, so she's not susceptible to problems a regular cat would face - and plus, she would gain a longer lifespan

It hurt, sure, seeing Mikey have a cat that will live far longer than his own did, but that was okay

He avoided ICK as much as he avoided Spike in the first few days/months, simply bcs he couldn't bring himself to get attached, but he learnt to check the fridge daily for any problems, and urged Donnie to fix them if he found any

He made sure the temperature in each room was just right whenever Mikey brought ICK out of the freezer, and kept more than enough coolers stashed away in storage

He looked after both his brother's pets to the best of his ability, and watched from afar

He doesn't want another pet, doesn't want to share pets, doesn't wish to have another creature's life in his hands

But he figured, this was good enough for him

Aaahhhh guys I'm so sad! I was writing some Headcanons/ideas and when I went to save I fucked up and pressed the wrong button.

Curse my stubby fingers!!!!

Though because I really wanted to get it out there I just paraphrased it for you guys. Sorry it's not great. I had a whole thing I just didn't want to write it again.

Soooo— I had this whole thing written out about Slash/Spike from TMNT(2012) being a yandere because I was rewatching the series. And was watching the episode where Spike mutates himself and becomes Slash. While tryin'na take out Raph's brothers so he and Raph could be a two-man team. Just them.

There was also a thing about Leo tryin'na get the mutagen back from this little girl but, she wouldn't let him go unless he played tea party. Which by the way she was so cute and cool about when Leo left with the 'tea' after Raph and Slash fell through the ceiling.

I had also delved into how in the 2012 verse like Raph had mentioned in the seventh episode of the second season. The mutagen had messed up the ex-pet's noodle. And I feel like that case is the same for other mutated side characters.

Such as Dr. Victor Valco, Fishface, Karai, and more

There had also been this comparison where the 2012 TMNT's splinter was one of the best Splinter's. Like he may not be a 2003 Splinter but, at least he isn't the man-child that is ROTTMNT Splinter. While 2007 and bay verse Splinter had been more Sensei rather than father.

Also went on a little about how Leatherhead's PTSD and how in the show they don't actually call it such. But because you know they're all teenagers they don't really know how to handle it except Mikey which was another thing I liked about the rottmnt how in both verses Mikey is shown to have a better understanding of emotions than his brother's. Though Rottmnt's Mikey does do a more in depth job.

I had also talked about Raph and Leo's relationship in the 2007 verse and the totally mfkin' epic showdown between Raph and Leo that literally everyone had been waiting for. Shits great. You need to watch if you haven't. Seriously recommend.

A little canon fact from TMNT 2012 that never gets mentioned again is that Spike loves hearing Splinter's stories.

Also, the way Slash talks to him and apologizes to him in Clash of the Mutanimals. He really respects the ninja master.
