Donnie is preciousness embodied. That's it, that's the trigger warning.

No secret that Donnie and reader where close friends. More than he was than April or closer to any of his brothers. They shared everything ever since they met. No specific reason, other than they enjoyed each others presence. Science geek who rambles, and a clueless motherfucker who doesn't understand yet listens anyway.

Best duo the gods could have possibly created. The brothers knew this, everyone knew this. It became a running joke that if one of them wasn't around, the other wasn't either. And if they were, 'Where's you friend?', or in some cases, "Where's that one kid?"

It wasn't something that bothered Donnie, just that the repetition became overbearing at a certain point so he would just ignore the person who said it the most recent. Expect for Splinter, who had special privileges on the joke.

However one day, reader had not come down to the lair like usual, and didn't come around for the following week. Just as the turtles were gonna go search for her, she showed up and explained that work had been a pain and she didn't have the energy to come around. A fair reason to avoid social interaction, except Donnie didn't think so. It's a common theme with reader that despite being told to go to sleep and take care of herself, she would be stubborn and still make time for the turtles. Specifically him.

He tried mentioning it to the others but they either ignored him, or said that he was just sad his girlfriend didn't make time for him like always. Which, wasn't true. They weren't dating, but that didn't stop Don from getting embarrassed and retreat to his lab in defeat. At some point, Leo had caught onto what Donnie was saying.

"She's eating less than before Leo! She normally eats like she's alone at home and binge watching The Office!-" While ridiculous and humorous reasoning, his genius brother wasn't wrong. Reader had no shame before in eating the amount she wanted. Usually a lot, and due to metabolism, and her taller than average height by a few inches, she rarely gained weight.

Now she began claiming that she was full or had eaten before hand. Sometimes just flat out said she wasn't hungry. She began to look more exhausted too. Normally looking a decent amount of tired from working three twelves at a warehouse and gaining more than plenty for a small one bedroom apartment in New York.

"Hey Don, have you seen reader?" Mikey asked barging into the lab with a gaming controller in one hand. Raph came in the room right after and took note of the serious air.

"What's going on?"

"Donnie thinks somethings wrong with reader."

"This is news? She likes pineapple on pizza." While Mikey looked at his brother baffled.

"Hey! I'm a key defender of that preference!"

"Thought you didn't have one?"

"Not like that, meathead!" rolling his eyes Donnie stood up.

"Listen, she's not acting like normal. At least her style of normal. It's making me worried. I mean, when's the last time she actually sat down with Mikey to play video games. That's why you came in right?" the turtles nodded and began to think. If Donnie was right, they'd have to corner reader and make sure she didn't get defensive.

"How do we find out what's up?" Mikey asked. Making a reasonable question that should have been the first step to finding out what the problem was. Donnie sighed and hung his head.

"No clue, anytime I try to ask about her she shuts me down and tries to ask about my projects."

"That's bad?" Raph questioned, surprised his nerdy brother didn't want someone to ask him about his work.

"No, but our talks normally weren't about specifics. It was more just random occurrences."

While the conversation was going on, Leo had begun walking around in the room trying to think when his eye caught a glance of a shine near the edge of a leg of one of Donnie's tables. Going up to it and grabbing it, he realized it was a mini camera.

"Hey Don, is this yours?" he asked already showing worry.

Donnie looked over to his older brother and saw what he was holding. Going over to inspect it, he became confused.

"No, that's not mine. Guys?" he asked his other brothers but they shook their heads. Then Leo crushed it, making the other three jump a little at the sudden action.

"I think you're right about your friend Don. Look," he took one of the broken piece of the bite size camera. A piece with the Foots' symbol on it. Raph and Mikey were staring at it like an infection, while Donnie looked like he wanted to throw up.

"What's going on?" a familiar voice came from the door, making the turtles freeze and look over. Reader was standing at the door with a weird expression. Questioning smile, but her eyes held something else. Something that could only be described as fear.

"I'd like to know the same thing reader." Leo said showing the symbol on the broken piece making the reader lose the smile and back up slowly. As the turtles started moving towards her at a similar pace, she tried making a break for it to the exit of the lair. Running after her the turtles blocked off all the exits making reader stuck in the middle of the living room.

"Why'd you do it!?" Donnie yelled, exasperated for this whole situation to be a sick joke. The reader didn't respond other than glare at him. His heart clenched in pain, he didn't want to believe it. His best friend, probably the only person who understood and put up with him, betraying him and his family.

She grabbed something from her pocket and threw it towards Mikey. A knife, that quickly was struck away by his nunchaku.

"Did any of those movie nights or hangouts on top of the estate mean anything!?"

She gritted her teeth and went towards Donnie, and went to punch him. It landed due to Donnie being to in shock. When she threw the next punch, Donnie reacted this time and swung his staff at her throwing her towards the wall. Falling to the ground, she grunted in pain and went to stand up.

"I thought you wanted to be my friend. But I guess you only made those jokes during breakfast because it was the easiest way to let my guard down. Not cause you actually cared."

She stood up from the ground and bent over in pain, leaning against the wall with one hand. The turtles went up to close her in but she tried attacking Donnie again. This time more prepared, he picked her up with his Bo staff vertically and pinned her against the wall making her thrash slightly.

That is until Donnie noticed something in her neck. When his brothers approached he told Leo and Mikey to hold her up. He grabbed one of Raphs' Sais' and poked the spot. It was something hard liked plastic. He cut it out carefully, which was hard due to making her thrash around anxiously. Once the device was out she fell asleep and they put her down and quickly too her to the medical room.

Once the wound was disinfected and patched up. Donnie got to inspecting the device implanted in her neck.

"I think the Foot put this into her. Not sure why. It doesn't seem like a tracking device either so we're safe." Leo sighed in relief. He didn't want to wander and find a new home.

"Think you can connect it your computer?" Mikey asked, and received and noogy from Donnie in praise. Though it wasn't appreciated by the youngest brother. So that's what he did. Worked all night, but he was able to convert it to a USB and connected it to his computer. A new file was uploaded onto the desktop.

"'Information on Renaissances' Projects'" clicking on it, it was a lot of voice recordings of conversations of reader and Donnie talking about possible future improvements to the lair, battle shell, and Turtle Truck. Leaning back into his chair in astonishment he clicked off of it and deleted any record of it on his computer before smashing the USB.

A few hours later, reader woke up groggy from the 14 hour nap she took.

"Mornin'." Donnie greeted sitting in the chair next to the table she was sleeping on.

"What the hell happened? Dontron?" he chuckled at the nickname and began to explain.

"What do you remember? Anything before or during the event."

"All I know is, I was on my way to the lair when a group of Foot ninja knocked me out. After that it's black." Donnie nodded in understanding.

"Leo thought you betrayed us. Honestly so had I. Sorry for thinking that,"

"Meh, can't say I'd do any different. Thanks Don." Donnie nodded and stood to get supplies to check up on the cut he gave her. "Did you think that bringing up my favorite memories with you would snap me out of it?" Donnie blushed while reader slightly giggled.

"To be fair I thought my best friend just betrayed me and sold me out to the biggest evil in the city." that made her laugh more and he smiled softly in response. After a stream of continued apologies toward the turtles and others, she still felt bad. Donnie didn't mind, for one he found it funny. And now he had a new test dummy for projects April and Casey didn't want to try. He'd say Vern wouldn't do anything either, but the guy actually found it fun sometimes.

If you think that Raph and Mikey didn't use this to make fun of reader and called her a kiss-ass, you'd be wrong. And if you think she denied it? You'd also be wrong, she embraced the title fully if it made up for what happened. Even if it wasn't her conscious fault.

Freaky Friday

All turtles x fem!reader (platonic, best friends/bro-sis relationship)

Summary: it’s friday and y/n had a great day

A/N: not a fan of chris brown but this song slaps even after 4 years. its so addicting.

it was a friday and it’s everyone’s favourite day of the week

because of your busy schedule working the 9-5 job, you dont go down the lair as much

you’re usually tired so you’d pass out after reaching home

so you compensate with the turtles you’ll sleepover every weekend as you dont see them everyday

on fridays it was a half day working day (hah we can dream) so when clock strikes 1pm, you rush home to pack your stuff

you know when your spotify is on shuffle there’s likely a song you may or may not like?

well today happens to be a jackpot

without reading who’s the singer you recognize chris brown’s voice

you cringe but the song slaps as it reaches the chorus

you dance your way to the lair with your 3 day 2 night bag

the turtles just chilling since its still daytime

leonardo and donnie at the lab for what i also dont know

raph lifting weights why not we switch that up and make him play his guitar at the other side of the lair

mikey on his flying skateboard

“i woke up in chris brown’s bodyyyy” you sang

caught mikey by surprise and he fell about 7 feet from his skateboard

raph didnt hear shit but he saw you walk in

still plays his guitar

don and leo turns to you

“i cant believe that its freaky friday!!!” that part you screamed

“hey hey hey just because we’re freaks doesn’t mean-”

“WHAT?”

leo removes your earphones

“sis, what song was that?” he looks amused by your energetic soul today. “whats gotten you so energetic, shorty?”

“its friday duh”

mikey took over your earphones and his eyes just- big as a basketball

“THIS SONG IS AWESOME”

raph stops strumming his guitar only to yell back, “STOP YELLING”
