Finally got around to redrawing my old designs for an evil counterpart Mew team, Chimera Anima Mew Mew! Still really happy with how these guys look. I tried to keep them obviously inspired by the OG outfits without just being a lazy recolor that adds some more black. They’ve got flower names instead of fruit (Sakura, Indigo, Clover, Honey, Ayame, Tsubaki, Lily).

Vague plot is that an OC alien infuses a bunch of the Mew Mews’ classmates with parapara + each girl’s endangered animal DNA, so they get forcibly transformed into mirror versions of the Mew Mews (they don’t have memory of this after they change back). Dark!Ringo is... maybe not quite canon??? But Berry is, since it’s an a La Mode AU.

She has a brash and curt personality and often bickers with Ichigo. Despite being shorter when they were children, she’s now taller than Ichigo.

She has a brash and curt personality and often bickers with Ichigo. Despite being shorter when they were children, she’s now taller than Ichigo.

Her and Ichigo were childhood friends and Raz looked up to her since Ichigo was more popular. She had the nickname “Kiichigo” since it’s similar to Ichigo and since kiichigo is another way to say raspberry in Japanese. As they grew older Ichigo began to unintentionally ignore Raz in favor of her other friends and Raz began to resent her for this. When they were about 10, Raz’s family relocated to Nagoya.

When her family eventually moved back to Tokyo, Raz was noticed by Ryou as another possible candidate for becoming a Mew since her DNA was compatible with that of the long-eared jerboa and infused her DNA, allowing her to transform into Mew Raspberry. When Raz meets the team at the cafe, Ichigo doesn’t remember her and Raz is upset by this. Soon after, she was approached by Kisshu who offered her a way to get back at Ichigo by helping the aliens with their mission.

Raz agrees to help the aliens and they give her an artifact similar to mew aqua that allows her to transform into a corrupted version of her mew form, Mew Blackberry. This form is slightly more powerful than her basic mew form. After being defeated by the other mews, Ichigo offers her a second try at friendship and Raz accepts and joins the group.

She’s still slightly distrustful of Ichigo and is closer with the other mews but she’s getting better at opening herself up to people. She’s also still “friends” with Kisshu, similar to the way Purin is friends with Taruto.

She can no longer transform into Mew Blackberry.
