Ok, because I'm bored at work with nothing to do and I'm still by myself, I'm gonna bug you with a random question. What are your Top 10 favorite headcanons. No specific fandom, just top 10 favorite.

This is too broad actually, E. xD Please limit me to a fandom next time this nearly broke my brain, first to find any at all (twas as though I had Never Had A Single Headcanon In My Life) and then to move on from a fandom, like, once I remembered a headcanon, my brain wanted to latch onto that fandom and I would have gladly given you my top 10 Disney headcanons or sth... this was near impossible lol

You will realize that most of my heacanons are next gen related.

In no particular order because holy shit that'd kill me.

Let's start with an easy one. Shadowhunters. I headcanon Jace Herondale as ace. Even in the fanfiction where I don't make it an explicit plotline, I think of him as ace. I just think that he doesn't know. Doesn't know the term for it, hasn't thought about it really. I don't think I've ever had an ace headcanon I was as fiercely attached to as I am with Jace. Which is funny considering the character himself is a... actually, no, he's not really that sexual. We see others making jokes about his book club, we see him hook up with a random girl once. And then with Maia. And then he's in his relationship with Clary, where we actually see him pulling the brakes and wanting to slow things down. He's not as promiscuous as the talk of the other characters would like to make us belief, is what I'm saying. He has a normal sex life. Still, usually, ace headcanons are born from a "oh this character has never shown any interest in sex????" notion, so this is still an outlier.

PJO: If Bianca di Angelo had lived, her powers would have been most aligned with darkness. We know that Nico struggled with that, that shadow-travel in particular drained him extremely. It's a power he has, but one that never came as easy to him as summoning or controlling the dead. And I always liked the idea that the three kids of Hades/Pluto split his three realms - darkness, death and riches. Tapping into the other realms too, but having most domain over one each.

My headcanon that Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians is actually the god Jökul Frosti who had his memories taken and was "punished" to spend a lifetime as a human, but something went wrong when he died too early, that's why he has the full amnesia. It just, it never really clicked why the guardian of fun got the white hair and snow powers, or why the wind would carry Jack and allow him to fly (the god of the wind is the father of Jökul Frosti), or why the saying of "Jack Frost" would exist in our human world if Jack Frost is a spirit that nobody can see and born from a mortal who died only 300 years ago.

Disney: Princess Aurora and Prince Adam (aka the Beast) are cousins! I don't know, I just think that's neat. They look very similar, there's the French note to Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast.

DCMK: Kudou Shinichi and Kuroba Kaito naming their son Conan, as a reminder of how they first met and what Shinichi's time as Conan really meant to him. I think that'd be very poetic and I also think that kid would be the devil incarnate.

Deep dig TLK headcanon that will actually mean absolutely nothing to people who aren't deep into it but I headcanon that Kovu is the biological son of Malka and Kula, I think that Kula's dark fur is a good match for Kovu's while he'd have Malka's dark mane (and I headcanon Malka's eyes to be green, they're not really... seen. they look pitch-black, which might as well be green like Kovu's), plus I did always like Malka. I know most people ship Kula with Chumvi but honestly they have a near identical design so I always clocked them as siblings and headcanoned them as such. But yeah, Kovu as the lost son of Malka and Kula, which would add such a near tragic element to things, if Simba knew he was Malka's son.

If Cole and Phoebe's son on Charmed had lived, his name would have been Parker Benjamin. Parker was the name she later picked for her second born daughter, but I have no qualms moving that name up to the older brother, since I'm already changing the oldest daughter's name too because I am fiercely possessive of my OC daughter of Phoebe and Cole who has to be the firstborn daughter. The only kid of Phoebe whose name I'm keeping is the youngest. Plus, middle name Benjamin after Cole's father, since we do know that Cole cared deeply for his father. I always liked the idea of the sons being their own Charmed Ones; him, Wyatt and my Andy/Prue son Phillip Trudeau.

In the greater scheme of things, BtVS is full of magic shenanigans so why in the world should Angel be the only vampire who can have kids, right? I like the idea of Willow and alive!Tara using magic to create children of their own and that magic also being applicable to Spike and Buffy. I'm thinking fully-formed-baby creation magic here, not magical pregnancy. Because I... don't see Buffy pregnant, she's too much of a fighter, out there, not benched due to different circumstances. And they'd have twins, named William, since Spike's not using that name, and Joanne, as a combination of Joan and Anne, the two big aliases Buffy ever went by.

A headcanon I cherish a lot a lot is from Sailor Moon and it's that the Ayakashi sisters (Koan, Berthier, Calaveras and Petz) all also get a second chance and get reborn, just like the inner senshi did after the first season because fuck that the girls were good at the end they deserved better than to die for men's mistakes, and that they are, ultimately, the mothers of the Asteroid senshi (Pallas, Juno, Vesta and Ceres). I have a very big, very mapped out family tree for my Sailor Moon headcanons. This fandom has been with me for decades. But I want to only pick one headcanon per fandom, so.

DC Comics' Stephanie Brown becoming the Huntress, I just think that would be so neat, the purple color scheme fits her so, so, so well, plus I'd love for Helena Wayne to take up the mantle from her, looking up to her auntie Steph with adoration. I've latched onto that hard.

(TLK / Forbidden Queen) - Forbidden Queen is my personal TLK universe so things might be a little bit different in this.

Gen - 2 For both Sarabi and Sarafina Pridelands wasn't the place of birth or their families land, each of them belonged to different pride or/and clans. Sarabi unfortunately has been left behind for unknown reasons (for now) next to the borders of Pridelands, found by Ahadi while Sarafina was promised to the next ruler of the land (Mufasa). Sarafina herself was part of a noble family of another pride, her father and Ahadi made a agreement about the betrothal of the two. So when Safi reached the cubhood she was given away to the Pridelands by her family. it wasn't easy for the lioness at first but then she met her best friend Sarabi and things turned out okay.. at least for now. At the end things played out differently as we all know. Note : I am TLK Editor. Everything I will post are edits of TLK screenshots. so of course Credit goes to Disney!

Another one of MalisTLK’s challenges. This one was just for fun since none of these characters are canon in my tlk universe.

Tanabi - Since Tanabi was the first born I based him on the cub at the end of the first movie, aka “Fluffy”. Yeah he’s basically a Simba clone but I made him a bit fluffier.

Shani - Most of you probably already know that Shani was just a working name for Kiara so I based the design of some of the early concept art.

Aisha - Another scraped name for Kiara. Anyway, pretty much all of Simba and Nala’s cubs are about as spunky and mischievous as their parents but not Aisha. She’s a bit shy and reserved. She’s also the only one who very noticeably takes more after Nala’s side.

Chaka - He was intended to be the brother of Shani (or I guess you could say Kiara) so I decided to make them twins. Kinda gave him a sarabi like pelt and eye color.

Naba - Naba is basically my obligatory “looks a lot like Mufasa” Simba/Nala cub.

Kopa - I just reused Kopa from my last one.

“Let me go!” Yelled the cub between sobs. “I got it, ok? I’m not going to turn into Scar, so you can stop forcing yourself to spend time with me!”

“Moyo...that’s not...”

“Leave me alone, grandpa!”

Moyo loves to spend time with his grandfather. But the more he grows, the more the whispers that he looks like Scar increase. At first he dismisses them, but later he has been hearing, from some adults and some other cubs, that Simba only spends time with the cub to prevent Moyo to turn into Scar.

That, obviously, is very far from the truth, but Moyo is hurt by those comments and decides to confront Simba himself during one of their early walks. The old lion isnt expecting that from his grandson, specially since he had been trying to show the cub how much he loved him and he didnt care how Moyo looks like. Simba made that mistake with Kovu and almost costed his family, he wasnt going to let that happen again. But the abrupt accusation makes Simba freeze and that silence is taken wrongly by Moyo.

The old king is left heartbroken while he sees his grandson running away from him.

Do you ever think about the fact that they had Chris just. Be able to manipulate Leo's orbs that way in the s5 finale and then just never did anything with it again? Like explain. What was that and how'd he do it? But also imagine Chris developing that in the changed future, it'd be so cool?

i feel like that’s probably something that’s like an extension of telekinesis/telekinetic orbing and honestly i think it was probably developed by paige in precaution for you know like fights with wyatt who basically has her power set just the ability to deviate/cancel out/relocate orbs can be v useful in fighting someone who Also has telekinetic orbing and the reason i’m crediting paige with this invention is i think by the time chris is old enough to really be able to come up with magical technique on his own there like. aren’t really any whitelighters / witchlighters to practice on. as far as developing it in the altered/true timeline like i don’t see why not save for the fact it’s kinda like. more of a move against the enemy you know a vs wyatt thing or in s5′s case getting rid of leo so he can move in like. i don’t really see a reason to hone this power in the future other than to like. fuck with your siblings. but even then it’s kind of a dickish move you know like there are nicer ways to mess with them that isn’t tampering with their teleportation power.

TLK Next Gen

Hushed whispers and muffled gasps seemed to follow me through the caves. The echoing caverns of my once comforting home now carried harsh words unknown to me like secret messages from ghosts. Scandal. Adultery. Treason. Bastard. The last word was the most fearsome of all as it was always hissed in my direction.

What do these words mean? Words that escape the lips of lions and lionesses that can’t seem to keep them confined. They sealed their lips as if to hold in escaping prey the moment I walked by. Pride members who once greeted me with jovial purrs now sunk back into the shadows as my mother and I crossed their paths. She seemed afraid of these whispered remarks, so shouldn’t I as well?

Once the moon rises it only intensifies. Glaring eyes flashing in the dark like broken crystals bury their gaze into our sleeping forms. Accusatory tones bounce through the den. My mother is definitely afraid of these unknown words, her fur sharp and cutting with the pressure of them as she tries to rest. I am also afraid of these words that are making every lion act so secretive.

Why is everyone in on this forbidden secret but us? Why does mother whisk me away when Kiara or Simba enter the cave? Why can’t dad take us on patrols anymore?

Why is everyone looking at me differently…?

I'm interested in hearing more about why you think Margot should've been Rumbelle's daughter. Sounds interesting, but what would that mean for her enchanted forest life? I think her being Robin Hood's daughter would've been fine if not for Zelena

Okay, Nonny, since you sent this a few days before Mother's Day, I'm gonna finally take the opportunity to try to sum up and speed-run the Belle's Daughter Margot feelings that have haunted me for THREE YEARS. Buckle in; this will be more than you or anyone asked for.

Disclaimer 1: It's been, well, three years, so my memory of Curious Archer and their story is not perfect; could be off on some details here. And Disclaimer 2: I really loved Tiera Skovbye as Robin/Margot; she did a lot with not much screen time, and she and Rose had fabulous chemistry. So although she was well cast as Robin Sr.'s kid, Tiera would be perfectly believable as a Rumbelle daughter, too--maybe give her some low-lights and call it a day. We keep Tiera as Margot in this rewrite. Okay: onward.

(Since one of the few things that would have to change about Robin if she were Rumbelle’s daughter is her name, I’ll just mostly use her Hyperion Heights name “Margot” throughout this post for simplicity.)

First and foremost, the foundation of everything: Margot is so like Belle! She is so like her. They have the same love of adventure, a similar sense of humor. She took Alice on a date to a bookstore. Most of all, she has Belle’s ability to see past “the mask of the monster” to a person’s heart. There was a great scene where Tilly explained that she didn’t want Margot to see her “bad days” because she thought it would be “too much,” and Margot said words to the effect that she was there for the bad as well as the good.

Obviously, people don't have to grow up to be exactly like their parents (Belle and Rumple sure didn't)...BUT. In fiction, one of the fun parts of next-gen stories is for the audience to see how their favorites' personalities are passed down. It's just more fun to see a Henry who has parts of Regina/Emma/Neal than one who doesn't; it's fun to see Lucy resemble little Henry. And it would be fun to see Margot be like her parents (she is very like Robin Sr; not so much Zee). Seeing a character who has so many of Belle's traits becomes just more...fun...when she learned them FROM Belle.

The family feud Rumple/Hook angle turns Alice and Margot’s relationship up another roman tic notch. A classic trope! It’s about reconciliation and love remaking and erasing those old grudges. Which is even more important when we’re supposed to believe that the evidence of Rumple’s final redemption is his saving Rook.

On a more macro level: the entire claim that OUAT is "a show about hope" COLLAPSES because it ends with the annihilation of the Stiltskin family. Rumple, Belle, and Neal are all dead; Henry doesn’t acknowledge them as his family; and Gideon is a friendless and forgotten orphan in another world. I did my rants about this three years ago, but long story short: the show’s not about hope unless it’s hopeful for EVERYONE. And having at least one of Rumbelle’s children alive and happy at the end (with her True Love and friends and acknowledged as part of the family) would fix that. My objection has never been that Rumple (and even Belle) die, but the way it happened.

And of course, Rumbelle needed to have at least one other child because Kitsowitz managed to deny them even one single shared happy moment surrounding Belle’s pregnancy with Gideon and his birth. Even if the audience didn’t get to see it (and we could have gotten a glimpse in Beauty), we deserved to know it happened.

Finally: Zelena did not belong in S7, period. I know it was fun for her fans! (Although apparently there weren't enough of them to positively affect the ratings, meow.) I do know! But it was bad storytelling. She served no point in the larger season arc, and the serial witch killer plot that was invented to serve her was one of the worst and most stupid things Kitsowitz came up with in seven years, and ate up time that could/should have gone to develop other characters. (Driz and Ana come immediately to mind, instead of having them shunted off to another universe, but also Henry/Cinda/Lucy and of course Rumple since his plot was coming to a close.) Zelena didn’t even get any significant growth herself, or develop her relationships with Regina or Robin. She still didn’t express regret for the horrible things she did to characters we love (Rumple, Neal, and Robin Sr.); the only result of all that screentime was to give an unrepentant rapist a love story with a person--we barely see and have zero investment in. And even that was ultimately negated at the end of the season, because in the finale Zee’s back in Storybrooke sans Boo Bear.

So, all that said: what would have to change about Margot’s, and Curious Archer’s, FTL storyline to give us Margot Gold?

Her name—but actually very little else. (And frankly it would have been more respectful to have Belle name her daughter after Robin Sr., who was actually her friend, than for Zee to name her kid after the man she raped, manipulated, and ultimately got killed—but that ship had sailed.)

Belle and Rumple could have given their daughter any number of fairytale names after people they know, aka fresh take on a Disney character. My favorite possibilities are Aurora (and then Curious Archer could have been Curious Beauty, and done a riff on the Sleeping Beauty story as part of their FTL backstory, with a built-in TLK) and Merlin (very pretty for a girl, I’ve always thought).

But the character herself would have been very much the same: she could be Rumbelle’s jock daughter, trained in archery and swordsmanship by family friends (Merida/Mulan/Charming), but always feeling out of place in her family of scholars/sorcerers/nerds.

I am SO sorry for the length of this--there's even more under this cut!

Robin/Margot felt insecure about trying to live up to her father’s name; Rory/Merlin/Margot could have similar anxieties trying to live down her father’s Dark One rep. There could even be a similar story where she was born with magic (like Robin was) but loses it or chooses to give it up—something that would estrange her further from her family. Or, if she was Merlin, she could keep her magic but be reluctant to use it, and part of Curious Archer’s Hyperion Heights arc would be both Margot and Tilly discovering and accepting their magic. (Sapphic sorceresses for the win.)

Now, one of the cutest things about Alice/Robin’s FTL dynamic was Robin being a girl from the Land Without Magic finding her feet in an enchanted forest, with Alice’s help. But it would only take a little finessing of S7 Rumbelle’s story to get that for Rory as well. (Of course, any decent story would have a LOT of finessing of Rumbelle’s plot so that Belle didn’t die and put Rumple on a suicide mission, but again—assuming the ship has sailed…)

Say that Rory is five to six years younger than Gideon. The Rumbelle family spend a dozen years or so traveling the realms, but then Rumbelle decide that they want Gideon and Rory to be comfortable in the LWoM with their extended Charming family, so they settle back into the Pink Palace so the kids can get a LWoM education. They still take occasional journeys, often Rumbelle going to save some hapless souls, but Rory grows up primarily in SB with very few, vague memories of all the fascinating places they visited when she was a small child. This feeds her hunger for adventure along with some envy of Gideon for having so many more fairytale experiences—another thing that makes her feel like a misfit in her family. So, presto, when she moves to FTL she and Alice have pretty much the same meeting/adventures.

One of the key notes of Rumple and Alice/Tilly's relationship, showing his growth and making it so special, was how he chose to set her free of being the Guardian or whatever, allowing her to be free and get what he never had, the chance to grow old with the woman she loves. And that would be weakened if Rumple knew that by choosing Alice's happiness over his own, he was also choosing his own daughter's happiness (because we know Rumple picks his kids over himself ever time). But--he doesn't have to know WHO Alice's True Love is when he makes that choice. He could just know that there is someone, or simply realize that Alice deserves her freedom for her own sake. (Rumple's daughter also getting happiness would be a side benefit that he didn't learn about till later, and have the added perk of Rumple actually getting a narrative reward for doing something good. Which almost NEVER happened! Bonus.)

Finally: I do understand that Robin's presence on the canvas was important to fans of Robin Sr.--getting to know he's remembered and having someone carry on his legacy. Of course I get it--Rumbelle and their family not having that is my biggest complaint (of so so many).

But we don't need a grown-up Robin Jr. to be Robin's legacy. Let her stay a cute background kid with perennially baby Prince Neal. There's already a character, one we're invested in, to carry on for the Hoods: Roland. And again, it would be satisfying for the audience to learn that a five-year-old orphan wasn't shunted off from what family he had left (Regina and Henry) into another universe and never heard from again. If Kitsowitz didn't waste time with Zelena, they wouldn't have needed the idiotic Jack-is-Hansel-the-serial-killer twist, and we could have have had Roland filling the role of Henry's best friend/little brother (and therefore Lucy's fake HH dad--God, that plot was bad all the way back in season 1; why Kitsowitz why?). We'd see Roland onscreen, part of the family, at the end of the show, perhaps with his own True Love (Drizella, maybe, or better yet Gideon) and happy future.

So, that's it: the combination of Margot Stiltskin-Gold and Roland Hood tightens and heightens the storytelling throughout S7, closes some plot holes, and actually fulfills some of the show's stated themes. Who knew!

Because doing one TLK character challenge just wasn’t enough. I had to do a second! Upendi: Kiara and Kovu’s second born, as well as the younger twin sister of their son Amani. She is the second female leader of the Lion Guard after her ‘aunt’ Vitani, who did a great job in raising her to be a good leader. Like her uncle Kion before her, Upendi’s guard doesn’t consist entirely of lions, although she does have one lion among them. She can be pretty fierce in battle, but much like her mother, she is very caring and always tries to see the best in others. Farzana: The oldest of Kion and Rani’s five children (they end up having A LOT of kids in my TLK-verse), Farzana is a very intelligent lioness and often acts as the peace-keeper to her younger siblings. Her parents have no doubt that she’ll make a great queen someday. Moyo: One of Vitani and Tiifu’s two sons, both conceived with help from a passing rogue. Moyo is a huge flirt and proudly bisexual, often trying to woo any lion or lioness that he finds attractive. Shuka: One of Vitani and Tiifu’s two sons, both conceived with help from a passing rogue. Shuka is a bit of a clutz and often ends up tripping over his own paws, but he means well and is always happy to make a new friend. Nufaika: The son of Zuri and Nuka, conceived shortly before Nuka’s death in the gorge. Nufaika takes greatly after his late father, being a little goofy and pretty impulsive but also very strong and agile. He grows up into a strong, healthy and gentle-hearted lion, and his mother and Aunt Vitani make sure that Nufaika knows that his father still watches over them in spirit, even though his earthly form is gone. Jiwe: The result of a brief fling between Tazama and the leopard Mapigano, Jiwe’s birth caught a bit of attention in the pride as no one had ever heard of a lion breeding with a leopard before. She doesn’t care if others think that she’s weird for being a hybrid. Jiwe has skin thicker than a rhino’s and is pretty much impervious to all the insults and taunts she receives, often responding to them with a grin or a “So”? She’s a cheeky lady, that’s for sure.

TXT TLK; chris x oc (?)

my take on the prompt phrase, “that was fun, let’s do it again sometime!” set in a canon-divergent version of the freshman, where a wrong number text turns into something more.

author’s note: i wanted to try something a little out of my comfort zone, so here’s a “fic” written entirely in texts. this is pretty self-indulgent tbh, and written with an OC instead of the MC (since being roommates wouldn’t quite work with this concept), but i hope you guys enjoy it nonetheless? thanks @hollyashton and @zigisbisexual for hosting!
