Annabeth may have influenced Percy to give up godhood, but Percy was literally ready to give up his life for Nico di Angelo.

Let me explain. In ttc, Percy decides that the great prophecy about a demigod child of the big three will be about him, so that it doesn't fall to the next big three child (that Percy knows): Nico di Angelo.

In tlo, Percy finds out that the prophecy says he will die. To quote Percy, he says, "if I die, I die." He accepts this. He doesn't turn back, run away or try to backpedal his way out of claiming the great prophecy, because he knows that if it doesn't end with him, it'll kill Nico. Percy was ready to die, so that Nico could have a chance to live.

One of the many aspects of a Greek tragedy is the self-fulfilling prophecy. Especially the prophecy that the hero tries to run away from, making everything worse. Percy manages to dodge that, though.

In TTC, when Thalia chooses to deny the prophecy, she can because Percy is there to fulfill it. Percy, on the other hand, does not want Nico to face it. He actively chooses the prophecy that he does not know. He decides that he will be the hero no matter what because Nico shouldn't have to be.

Percy denies that tragedy, and maybe that's part of how he'll end up with a happy ending like Perseus should.

still kinda confused as to why the pjo tv show isn't making more noise about our boy LITERALLY USING THE SAME SWORD AS HERCULES HELLO Chiron LITERALLY TELLS HIM THAT

like I know it's not a part of the real mythos. and also that they don't talk about it in the first book at all. anyways I guess I'm just saying that it's going to be SO COOL when they finally make it a plot point in the titan's curse adaptation if they get there

My Bianca Di Angelo headcanons before I forget, and because rick riordan didn't give us much to lean on

- She didn't get to have much interests or allow herself to develope an independant personality other than being an adult figure in Nico's life because she had to take care of him.

- She's a pretty quiet person. She only talks in one on one convos because she's kinda introveeted, and she finds conversations tough. She has no clue how to join in.

- This makes her an observer. A listener.

- Her favorite color is dark brown. it's just something about it.

- I saw this on a tiktok that her fav movie is Dorothy and the wizards of oz, and I agree. And since she loves it. Someone introduced her to the chronicals of narnia. And that's like her fav movie series (she also listens to the audiobook because dyslexia so she can't read it.)

- She hates coffee. But she loves cappuccinos/iced cappuccinos and Frappuccinos because they are like coffee flavored slushies (atleast the one I've had is)

- Her favorite animals are rinos and african elephants.

- Her style/aesthetic is dark academia

- Her nickname is Bee. Mostly because that's what Nico would call her when he was like 5 and it kinda stuck, i guess.

- To get kinda child of hadesish in what she's interested. She loves archeology and history which correlate in a way. Because archeology helps you learn about the past.

- She has a somewhat interest in dinosaurs, especially there bones and how they work. So she loves going to museums.

- She's aroace. Absolutely. Idk, it just makes so much sense to me.

- Her hobbies include watching video essays, photography, birdwatching, and doing the thing where you take flowers and squoosh them in a book for some reason. Her favorites are spider lilies.

- She's like that one friend who has zero allergies whatsoever (like me!!!).

- She loves indie horror movies. Like the ones that aren't just scary. The ones that have deeper meanings and lessons, and tell an actual beautiful story. In a kind of poetic way.

- On that note she found herself in the rabbit hole that is dark poetry, and is yet to come out.

Artemis and her hunters kind of rub me the wrong way. Not Circe levels of bad, but pretty bad. They don't accept men and stuff. I don't know how to feel about them. Feels like I can super easily deconstruct the hunters and make them seem horrible.

Like, do they only accept women? Are trans women allowed? People who are gender fluid? People only partially female identifying? Do they accept non-binary people? Or do they only accept "biological women"? It's never said (at least, I don't think it's ever said). And it's something that I feel rubs me the wrong way. It seems like prejudice towards anyone not female.

Also, she turned a bunch of humans into crows. That's a lesser thing, but it's still messed up. I know they were mercenaries working with Dr. Thorn. But really, lady? You think it's okay to deprive people of their humanity? What's wrong with you!? I still like the concept of the gods (no gods, probably no afterlife after all), but that doesn't mean they're immune to humans. We're made in their image (I presume) and we should be allowed to express ourselves freely.

As always, my opinions could change at some point. But I needed to get all this off my chest. Because Artemis is making me feel a bit uncomfortable currently. And maybe it's subconscious bias (I do prefer day to night, after all), but I highly doubt that's all of it. Please tell me I'm onto something here, and don't seem needlessly cruel. Because I don't want to be seen that way.

Every time Percy and Poseidon meet in PJO, Poseidon finds a way to compliment Percy and let him know that Poseidon is proud of him.

In the lightning thief, Poseidon tells Percy that he's a true son of the sea and that he's proud of him.

In the titans curse, one of the first things Poseidon says to Percy after the council meeting (where he put himself on the line and vouched for Percy) is you've done well.

In the battle of the labyrinth, I don't remember if Poseidon explicitly says he's proud/Percy did well, but he does say that Percy is his favorite son. Which is huge in Percy's POV - he calls it the greatest bday gift ever.

In the last olympian, Poseidon hugs Percy in front of the entire Olympian council, his cyclops army and the demigods and tells Percy that he's the greatest hero.

Which makes HoO so jarring - Poseidon doesn't show up to talk to Percy even once? He doesn't send messengers like he did in the lightning thief and sea of monsters when he couldn't go in person. He doesn't ask if Percy's okay after Tartarus, not like he did after Percy nearly got himself blown up in the volcano in battle of the labyrinth. He doesn't tell Percy he did well, or even say a single word to him. It's completely out of character for Poseidon. Rick Riodan has no excuse imo. It's inconsistent writing and character assassination. I will never forgive him for it.

1. EVERY CAPTURE THE FLAG SCENE. THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE CAPTURE THE FLAG SCENES. THERE SHOULD'VE BEEN MORE CAPTURE THE FLAG IN THE BOOKS 😭 😭

The first capture the flag scene was ICONIC. Even in the movies it was ICONIC (despite not liking everything else HAHA) It lets the campers show off their powers.

In the first capture the flag, Percy was claimed. Percy and Clarisse fight was iconic. Hermes Cabin won. The hellhound attack was cool. IT WAS GREAT SET UP

2nd was with the huntresses. Percy and Thalia rivalry. Raging hormones. The huntresses being so cool I wanted to be one of them. PERCY AND THALIA FIGHT!!!!

AND THEN WE NEVER GET ONE EVER AGAIN... (i think)

Capture the flag is always just fun and iconic and I wish we had more of them. I wanna see the Hecate cabin use magic to win. I wanna see an Apollo Cabin vs Artemis Cabin capture the flag. I wanna see besties on opposing sides. WILL VS NICO. PERCY VS ANNABETH. And we know the latter of those 2 are winning. Imagine the poseidon, hades, zeus, apollo hecate, tyche, hypnos, iris kids just being OP with their magic stuff. I WANNA SEE CHILDREN MAIMING EACH OTHER BEFORE THEY ACTUALLY DIE LATER IN THE BOOKS HAHAHAHAHAHA
