Happy Birthday Scottish actress Jacqueline Pirie born in Stirling October 10th 1975.

Jacqueline was only five when her family moved to Birmingham, where she grew up, she did however keep her Scottish accent, and it is only through her drama courses that it has soften over the years, giving her the chance to adapt to whatever accent the part she is playing demands.

For soap fans Pirie is best known for her roles in Emmerdale, as Tina Dingle and Coronation Street as Linda Sykes, but her acting career began as an 11 year old in another soap, Crossroads. Jacqueline also appeared in the film Chasing the Deer and Casualty.

Since 2004, Jacqueline has been teaching drama and running her own performing arts workshop, the “Jacqueline Chadwick Academy of Performing Arts”. She relocated to Victoria, British Columbia, where she now resides.

A woman of many talents Jacqueline is an accomplished artist, and has exhibited some of her work which includes paintings of the Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle, and Loch Affric.

Quite a private person Jacqueline and Simon were married April 2001 in a secret ceremony at the Cameron House Hotel by the banks of Loch Lomond, with just her daughter and two hotel staff as witnesses.

Since turning her back on acting Pirie has taken to writing, she has penned screenplays and short stories, her first novel, In the still, the first in trilogy about a forensic pathologist, the books are in her married name Jacqueline Chadwick and has given up acting herself saying she hated being in the limelight, believes she has found her true calling and has no plans to return to the stage or screen.

On the 27th we were back in Dublin we ended up hanging out with our friends that we made back in Dingle Tina and Ró

These two are a ton of fun and we just really chatted each other's ears off they showed us some really cool museums around the area and neat little coffee shops.

At one point Camille accidentally talked to a crazy man because she's a noodle and he ended up holding a phone in her face in the classic way people do to demand that you take it so they can drop it on the floor she was good and didn't take it but he was getting more and more aggressive and he also was wielding a stick BUT neither of us understood that this was his weapon and he was trying to threaten us I'm more used to conventional weapons so I just thought the stick was part of his ploy and I was confused on why he was trying to sell it to us 🥲

Ró ended up having to protect us he outright put his hand on the guy's chest and pushed him back and told him he needed to go he ended up helping us onto a bus real fast cuz he had a bus card so we could get the fuck out kzgjsgkgzfsksig he really did this a solid saving our stupid asses I'm really grateful legitimately thought he was selling me the stick hjdndjsjdd

Somehow we did end up making it to the brewery we were going to lmao

That article was fun! The other fun thing is that when he turns up as Mark in Coronation street, Mike is with Linda (who was Tina Dingle) and they end up having an affair!

I agree about your current misgivings about classic emmerdale. I really loved rewatching it when it first came on but the producers obsession with the dingles has spoilt it so much. Their storylines are dire. Thankfully there are still other brilliant characters to counteract them. Love seeing young Robert although I'm not looking forward to Andy's arrival.

Yeah the Dingle stuff just doesn't work at all, Marlon arriving has been a bit of fresh air but their stories are just terrible, Tina aside, who is wonderful and I'll be sad to lose her (the break from Sam has been heaven sent though). The rest of the show has been mostly fantastic but I just feel like some things are happening that are rushed (Viv hates Vic and has always wanted a divorce since when? Chris and Rachel break up came from nowhere. Sarah's lodging house hasn't been mentioned in weeks. Dave and Kathy are complete nonsense). Love it, it just feels like the show was going through a style shift thats jarring

I love Tina Dingle. I don’t remember her as I’m a bit too young but the actress to me is Linda Baldwin in Corrie who had an affair with her long lost step-son!
