Was I the asshole for getting my entire friend group basically involved with a paranormal entity?

Now, I have my own feelings on this, but... Hey. Was kinda curious what other people might think of it, y'know?

So, in college some friends of mine were making a film, and I agreed to help out. Film never really got finished, guy making it (A) just kinda vanished for awhile, I went off and did my own thing, and I didn't think too much about it. I didn't actually know A super well to begin with tbh, and was mostly there because of other friends who were helping. Anyways, jump a few years later, one of the other people in that group (B) approached me, and to cut a long story short, we ended up investigating what was up with A, who had been acting strange & also this weird paranormal entity that had been seemingly stalking B since he started looking into things. The entity was basically stalking us, A, and anyone else who was involved with that college project if I'm honest... And it being around really messed with your head. Mostly stuff like memory loss, paranoia, some of us got incredibly violent, all that stuff. It was pretty bad, and led to some awful stuff. Multiple of my friends were affected, practically everyone in the group was affected by it to some extent, but mostly A, B and another friend who I'm not gonna get into. A got super paranoid and also started murdering people to try and stop the entity from spreading to more people, B had started looking into it as previously mentioned, and now it was stalking him, that other friend spent... A lot of time in some alternate state I can't quite explain (though this also happened to me), e.t.c,. Now... When I had been a kid, I had been hospitalized for things like paranoia and hallucinations and all sorts of stuff that were caused by the entity that had been messing with us this whole time - though I didn't realize this for awhile. So, by joining that college project and all, I basically introduced the entity to everyone else's lives, leading to all the terrible events that happened. Eventually A confronted me and insisted that everything was my fault, blaming me for the deaths of several of our friends that happened either at the entity's hand or at the hand of others affect by said entity, and in essence calling me the asshole of the situation. TLDR: I was haunted by a paranormal entity since childhood, and upon joining a film project in college, caused said entity to become involved with the lives of everyone else in the project. The entity led to horrible things happening to all of us, including multiple deaths. Was I the asshole for getting the entire group involved with the paranormal entity?

on one hand he was under the influence of the operator and didn’t really have any control over what he did.
