He turns to head to the kitchen when he nearly jumps out of his fucking skin. There’s a man in his kitchen. There’s a man in his kitchen just watching him with the saddest eyes Alex has ever seen on a person. He’s wearing a long, calf-length blue overcoat, the color of his sad fucking eyes. His hair is blonde and soft-looking, resting in a light wave above a face that could rival that of the best Renaissance statues, all angles and cheekbones and sharp jawlines and sloped noses. He’s otherworldly, untouchable, stunning. And he’s also in Alex’s flat, where he definitely shouldn’t be. His body kicks into gear, catching up with his runaway brain. He grabs the nearest blunt object—a candle sitting on his coffee table—and brandishes it like a weapon. Fucking useful it’ll be, if he wants to kill the intruder with a damn Jo Malone candle. But it’s heavy and he can knock out his new friend with the smell of wood sage and sea salt.

It's already Thursday morning for me but whatever 😂 I'm still obsessed with working on my vampire fic - hopefully this will be the last wip wednesday for it but we'll see! I've been ignoring a lot of adult responsibilities in favour of writing it 😅

“Oh look, it’s my would-be murderer,” Alex says flatly, levelling a glare in Henry’s direction, and resolutely ignoring the sudden sprint his heart is doing in his chest.  Henry looks pretty affronted by the label for someone who was going to drain him of his blood. “I thought we already established I wasn’t going to kill you! But seriously, how many cups of coffee have you had today?”  “What’s it to you?!” Alex demands, eyeing him warily. “Also just so we’re clear, my neck is still off limits in case you were back for seconds.”

Stiles first catches sight of Peter when he's video calling his BFF and college roommate Derek during their first winter break. Peter is hungover as hell from the holiday celebrations and looks like shit, but Stiles still can't stop staring. Derek can't help but groan, as he has only seen that look on Stiles's face when he's fixating on something and about to become extremely annoying about it.

Peter doesn't catch sight of Stiles until the next video call the following day, stopping in his tracks while walking behind Derek using his laptop. ("Well, hello there. And who's this, Derek? Introduce me."). Derek can't help but groan again, as he knows that his uncle can be equally annoying when he's intrigued by someone.

Derek suffers all throughout the rest of break and the next semester, as both his best friend and his uncle seem to be obsessed with each other and yet unwilling to actually do anything about it. He's getting really sick of both of them perking up like a dog who's caught a scent and inserting themselves into conversations as soon as they hear the other's name.

So, if Derek convinces Peter to come help him pack up his stuff and help him haul it home for the summer, but accidentally tells Peter the wrong day... Well, who can blame him? Stiles has finals even later than him and has been running on caffeine and spite for two weeks straight, plus he's been stressed about his own finals and overall running on too little sleep; it's an easy mistake to make. 😉

("Stiles, your date outfit is hanging up in the right side of the closet. You've got a reservation at Sicilia Mia at 8 pm. ... Oh my god, STILES, you're absolutely going. If I have to listen to either of you try to be sly as you ask about the other one again, I am going to LOSE IT.")

The joke's on Derek, though, because Peter and Stiles stay mutually obsessed with each other all throughout their relationship. 😏

Had a conversation with someone on October 23 over Zoom and asked if I'd done something to offend them or if something was wrong because they'd been really strangely distant and so on for several weeks (months?) prior, and then that turned into a short followup conversation on Whatsapp that drifted into other topics and they shared a chapter out of a book and I shared my thoughts on the chapter and then asked out of what book the chapter came. I got a prayer hands emoji response to one of the things I'd said and then silence until yesterday, almost six weeks later, "oh my goodness I'm sorry I never responded to this" and a few other messages I haven't bothered to read.

The conversation isn't set up for "read" notifications, so you either saw that I was typing and decided to mute notifications until you had time to respond and then forgot for the last month and change, or you left it on read thinking you'd get back to it later and then forgot for the last month and change

I don't like this

#the zoom conversation was a nominally weekly writing group #the next two weeks I followed the Zoom link at the appointed time and found the meeting empty #people are busy #time is fake #nevertheless #i'm sure the problem is me as it is always me #being ~~~mentally ill~~~ and all #fun fact it's actually impossible to mistreat me because anything that anyone ever does to me #will either have been caused by my mental illness #or exacerbated by it #so you can always guarantee I have at a minimum overreacted #and so it's always at least a little bit basically completely my own fault #in this instance I don't think there's honestly anything unusual about any of this #I am guilty of similar offenses myself #I suppose the conclusion is that nothing went wrong except that I wanted more than I should have
