Just got out of my first viewing (spoilers so tag accordingly)

Yeah that was the most ridiculous shit ive ever seen and i had a blast lmfao.

To get the few negatives out of the way: Syclla and Tiamat got COOKED. That's crazy. Especially Tiamat. I had no idea she was in the movie and like choked on popcorn when they said her name. First onscreen appearance and she dies in like 3 seconds... sucks to be her. But honestly... this is probably one of those moments where Fan Content messes with the perception of a canon thing, at least for me. It hurts a lot more because of the emotional attachment from stuff like Ozymandias's story, Shamhat, and other adjacent stuff. If I had never seen those and watched her die I'd probably think "oh she had a cool design, but whatever". But yeah, my only serious complaint is her being shafted and I don't even really think I can call it objective because there was definitely an attachment there.

Ok besides that this might be my new personal favorite Monsterverse. Could be recency bias but I don't think so. Every human is at the very least entertaining. Everything Trapper did in this movie made me crack up, hearing Bernie say the words 'Discord chat' and 'Ghidorahstan64' (i stg this was a callout of some kind) onscreen gave me terminal whiplash, and although Jia and Andrew's story was sorta surface level, it was still endearing. I'd rather have a good human storyline, sure, but if we can't have that I'll settle for entertaining.

Here I thought Suko was gonna be an annoying marketing ploy to sell toys... I physically snorted in the theatre when Kong slammed him into that one ape. MVP of the film lmao. Mothra was... also there. Yeah, it really shows that she was a last minute addition. But DAMN she sent Godzilla ROLLING with a single attack. Speaking of, I don't think the Tia-Zilla form was as underutilized as I've heard people say it was. Especially that new Atomic Breath effect. Holy eargasm.

Oh man though, Shimo and Skar are fantastic. Skar hits the same beat as like a Celestial Dragon or Vladimir Harkonnen with way more grace than I would've expected from a big monkey. They go shockingly dark with his treatment of the ape-slaves and Shimo... especially with that female ape insinuation.

Holy shit poor Shimo, man. I honestly thought the Skar controlling her aspect would be kinda downplayed and just regular mind control, not genuine torture of some kind. I love that they let her have characterization by resisting him at every chance she gets, and that the pain control isn't always active (i'm assuming that's the insinuation of keeping her all chained and behind magma, it depowers and restrains her when Skar's not actively using her), further insinuating she gets merciful breaks from hellish enslavement only to be yanked back into it whenever Skar needs something turned into a popsicle. I think my favorite moment in the film is right after Suko shatters the crystal and the light blue luminescence fades to reveal her actual eyes for the first time. Eyes are used throughout the film to show subtle humanizing features, like Godzilla falling asleep in Rome, Kong's wide eyes when he sees his kin, and shock when Shimo realizes she's free. Having her eyes glowing the whole film makes her seem way more monstrous and inhuman, so when that suddenly goes away she starts getting framed as just an animal. Also her eyes are pretty. Also, I lied, that wasn't my favorite part of the film. My favorite part was Kong giving her chin scratches and that cute half-hug. This needs to be normalized. He needs to hug Godzilla next film. I will pay someone a king's ransom for this to happen. Final little detail, I like that Kong doesn't do his final roar from on her back but standing next to her, on the same level as all the other apes. He doesn't look to elevate himself over her or everyone else like Skar did, which is a great touch.

Also also also: Think it's time for a Doug solo film where he tries to steal all the Titans' food. Make it happen Legendary.

Much agreement here! I'd love for a solo Mothra MonsterVerse film to really capitalize on her lore and give her stuff to do (without dying at the end preferably); maybe establish some connection between the Chen family and Jia. Also, I need a little shot of Mothra going to visit Godzilla while he's sleeping in the Colosseum and just cuddle up to the big lug.

Andrews and Jia were a welcome breath of fresh air after GvK reversed Mark's characterization and Madison became... that. There was still some slight tension between Jia not feeling like she belongs and Andrews wanting to do right by her, even if it means possibly giving her up, only for Jia to go "you're my mom, you're my home, stop being dramatic". You love to see it.

Adding to the Doug solo film idea... Shimo adopts him because he's cute and she thinks his shenanigans are hilarious. Let us have fun wholesome times!

Henry’s eyes shine with love that even now, all these years later, Alex is blown away seeing directed his way, “So, is it time I give up the sweetheart, and it gets passed on to Iz? We both seem to use it for her after all?” “That means I need to workshop something new, maybe - honey? Sugar? – No, that one reminds me too much of my mother – not happening. Cuddle bear? Lover?” Alex raises his eyebrows in an exaggerated wiggle, laughing at the look Henry sends him. “Lover? I am vetoing that one and cuddle bear – also make sure we’re keeping these G-rated as our daughter is on her way back in here.” Henry leans over to kiss Alex quickly as Isabelle returns to the kitchen. “Ew! No kisses in the kitchen! That’s what tia June says!” Isabelle says through giggles as she dances around the table to avoid her still kissing fathers.

When Carlos is eight years old, he spends the entire summer with his abuela. He spends it with her chickens that roam in their wide coop and the three scraggly cats that spend their days chasing after each other in the barn and the yellow lab that’s been old since Carlos was a baby, but still follows him around with her tongue goofily spilled out the side of her mouth.

He’s out of the confines of school and the days are longer and he loves his grandmother, and he doesn’t know yet that it’ll be last time she’ll be well enough to care for him on her own; he doesn’t know yet that in eighteen months, his mama will sit him down separately from his older and wiser sisters, and explain the phone call that echoed through the house late the night before, and why he’s going with his father to find a black suit. But for now, he is eight years old, and his sisters drop him off at their abuela’s sprawling ranch—the same ranch that one day their tia will inherit—every morning before they drive into town for their summer jobs at the mall, and his parents come by just in time for dinner to bring him home. He doesn’t talk much, as a kid, and his abuela lets him be; lets him play with toy police cars and fire trucks on the grass, lets him swing in the hammock with a book, until one day she stares at him with her deep, dark, knowing eyes, and asks him to help her in the garden.

She doesn’t speak to him like he can’t keep up, like so many of his older relatives do. She trusts him to pick the ripest tomatoes and instructs him with care on how to tell when certain root vegetables are ready and when some need more time. She ruffles his curls and tells him everything needs love and light and time, and slips into Spanish when she pinches his cheek and fawns over how one day he’ll be the best of them. And probably the tallest, too.

Sleep my sweet child

Lucifer was stir up by a sound of restless whimpering, he looks down and see it was from his youngest Lance who was nestled in between him and Tia. But the mother and little one is sounded asleep. Then he looks over Tia's sleeping form towards the Crib right by the bed and sees his daughter turning restless in her sleep.

It seems that little Tallulah is having a bad dream. Lucifer carefully manuver his arms so he doesn't wake Lance or Tia and gets out of bed. Just wearing a pajama pants and a plan blue shirt he doesn't need to get his robe. He gets up from the bed and walks over to the crib.

He looks down and watch his daughter for a second before gently scooping her up in his arms and quietly walk out the room.

He and his now wake daughter walks down the hall of house of lamentation, ignoring some of cries of his nieces and nephews within his brothers rooms mostly within Mammon, Levi and Asmo's rooms. They are fathers as well, so they could handle their children themselves.

Lucifer is focus on his own child, who as he was walking start move around his arms trying to turn and face him. He chuckle as his daughter's antic before helping her by moving his arms, helping her face him. She looks up and made some noise to try and get her father's attention. "What is it little one?" Lucifer ask, and his daughter respond by making noise and slamming her hands onto Lucifer's chest.

Lucifer find this amusing.

Soon the two arrive at music room, he turns on the lights and walks over to his record player, turn to collection of records and found a Lullaby record he brough for this such occasion.

He knows that Tallulah and Lance are half demon and half human, so they are safe to listen to his curse records without getting afflicted by a hex or curse.

He wish he could listen with some of his favorite records with Tia, but again curse records aren't save for humans. But he does smile at the thought of he can share his love of music with his children.

He set the record onto the player and turn it on with one hand while his other hand is holding Tallulah.

Once the music start playing he turn and walk over to one of armchairs and sat down with Tallulah on his lap, he flick his wrist and soon some of the toys stuttered on the floor start floating and move round them, then Lucifer start telling a story with the toys are characters reacting it.

Tallulah cheer and at times try and reach to grab the toys from first half of the story, as Lucifer spoke softly and looks down and notice his daughter is yawning and rubbing her hands on her eyes.

He smile as he continue.

As soon the story comes to a close, he glance down and saw his daughter is asleep. "The End" once the story is over all the toys gently drift down back to the floor, he use his wrist to turn off the player.

He slowly gets up from the chair, cradling Tallulah in his arms before walking out the music room, up the stairs and back to his room. He close the door behind him and walks over to the crib and settle Tallulah back in her crib, he gently move some of her hair off her face, before leaning in and left a gently peck on her forehead and whispers "Sleep my sweet child"

Just want to do something soft with Dad!Lucifer and Tallulah :D

Rhetzedyr Guldarensyn (Zedyr) - Sea Wolf farmboy-turned-artisan; co-owns Harvest Fountain Toys and Jewelry in Limsa Lominsa and is a founding member of the Elytra Concord artisan cooperative.

Renan Avnei’shoham (Renan) - chronologically-displaced magical chimera – a Nymian scholar and his Marine companion who were squashed together in a mishap aboard the Void Ark and subsequently entombed in a stasis coffin. They split their time between living with Negevs Ha'dov at Firefly Grove in Lower La Noscea and with Maayan in Limsa Lominsa.

Amande Desrochers (Amande) - Duskwight who grew up serving a (very) minor noble house in Ishgard, now in exile. Working as a retainer to Mama Dee’s husband, T'arik Tia.

Seselahi Rerelahi (Selah) - Dunesfolk scribe and calligrapher, currently working at Firefly Grove in Lower La Noscea as Secretary of the Elytra Concord artisan co-op.

Rhenbraen Helbsyn (Rhenbraen) - extremely prickly Hellsguard miner. “Not a swivin’ LASS, rocks-for-brains!” Currently apprenticed at Naldiq & Vymelli’s in Limsa Lominsa.

Maayan Delafontaine (Maayan) - Wildwood researcher and alchemist; co-owns Harvest Fountain Toys and Jewelry with Zedyr. She handles the logistics/supply chain side of things, so she travels frequently to all three city-states.

Mama Dee (Dee) - former leader of a miqo'te dance troupe in Ul'dah (and mentor to a young Zhah'ra), now retired and married to T'arik Tia, a wealthy ex-adventurer. Maintains that she is from Thavnair. (In-game name: N'dezhda Lev)

Maparhi Savaptha (Maparhi) - newly-invested Hearer at Stillglade Fane. Cousin to Zhah'ra.

Pash'a Khoroushi (Pasha) - former Imperial conscript from the East End. Previously stationed in northwestern Ilsabard; current fate unknown.

How Did You Get My Tia to Call You Querido???? (Portuguese Reader x Wilbur Soot)

Family get togethers, also known as Wilbur's favourite thing besides you. You could swear that your family loves Wilbur as much as or even more than you. Your avó has taken to helping him learn to make your favourite dishes, but the people who appreciate Wilbur the most are your tias.

In the past while since the last family meet up, you must have gotten a dozen calls asking for your boyfriend so he could hear the latest gossip and what happened on their telenovela, you found it really funny how much your family cared about him.

You knew your cousins loved to see him, seeing as you both always sat at the kids table with them and then had wine with the adults after. Your tios loved hearing him play guitar, and your little siblings liked showing him their games and toys.

Tonight, they were sitting with the tias after dinner. You were half paying attention, your head on his shoulder while he listened to whatever had happened with third cousin João or whatever. Tia Maria (Number One as your list stated) was going on and on about the drama, and then turned to Wilbur.

"You wouldn't believe the things I've heard about him, querido."

You looked up, the nickname getting your attention. Winning over the tias was no easy feat, seeing as they had the essential portuguese sarcasm and backhanded compliments down pat. After your moment of shock, you smiled softly as they kept talking. You tuned out some of it, you didn't want to hear about the telenovela that Tia Maria Number Four insisted was good but was at best average.

You let them talk for a while, until it was time for everyone to head home. And then in true Portuguese style, they kept talking at the door as they were about to leave. You realised that your boyfriend had perfected the long goodbye.

As you drove home, nearly midnight by the time you actually left, you turned to your boyfriend.

"How did you get my tia to call you querido?"

He just laughed softly. "I guess I just like talking to them."

oh man!!! so!!! i was tagged by @fallingthorns @sibylsleaves @hetrez @trippedandfell @buckactuallys and @queerbitchdiaz for wip wednesday today which!!! wow thank you everyone omg lakmsdf :’)

i’m out of town for most of the week so i haven’t worked a lot on anything but!!! here please have some disney channel original movie life-size au bc i haven’t shared anything from it in a while

He starts comparing trucks, trying to figure out if there’s anything he’s seen Chris play with the most, when Chris makes his way back into the room.

“Dad, you don’t need to play firefighter when you are a firefighter.”

Eddie laughs, and reaches out an arm, pulling Christopher close once he comes within reach. “I know that, smart guy. I was just trying to see if there was anything we could get rid of in here - you know I don’t mind you having so much stuff, it’s just that we’re running out of places to put it.”

Chris scrunches up his nose. “We could get more places to put it.”

Huffing out another laugh, Eddie ruffles a hand through Chris’ hair. “Eventually we’re gonna run out of those, too.” He looks over the piles of fire trucks and little action figures. “You can have some time to think about it if you want, but between Tia Pepa and your grandma and Abuelo and your bisabuela, I think you’ve got way more firefighter toys than you probably need.”

“Well, we can’t get rid of too many. Buck needs some of them.”

At this point, Eddie is no stranger to his son’s vivid imagination, and the fact that he likes to name his toys - but apparently he’s fallen behind somewhere, because he’s not sure which one is Buck. “Have I met Buck?” Eddie asks, raising his eyebrows, bracing himself for Chris’ frustration if this is something he’s forgotten at the end of a long shift.

FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS!!!!

Rex and Quetzalcoatl had a pair of twins that they cared for very much. A girl named Maria, and a boy named Eduardo.

The twins were born on the 25th of September, and that date had arrived so it was time to celebrate their birthday!

In the morning, Mari was peacefully asleep.

Mari: *SNOOOOOOORE!*

Quetz, softly: mijaaaaaaa....

Mari: mmm....!

Quetz: mijaaaaaaa.....!

Mari, sleepily: mama..... I wanna..... sneeeeep......!

Quetz: but mija, it's your birthday today....!

Mari: hmmm.....

Quetz: did you hear me, mija?

Mari: *grumble* ok..... *sigh* I'm getting up already.

Mari got up, still very tired.

Mari: Da hell's my glasses?

Quetz handed her her glasses.

Mari: gracias....

Quetz: you should probably hurry, everyone else is already getting ready.

Mari: who the hell is everyone else?

Quetz: just the rest of the family.

Mari: hmmmm.... okay...... was worried I'd have to deal with a party.....

Quetz: don't worry, we know you don't enjoy those. It'll be just the family.

After some time getting ready, Maria went out into the living room.

Mari, while yawning: ok.... how long will it take to get there again?

Rex: uh... not too long, maybe an hour or so on the serpent.

Ed: still crazy how fast he can be.

Quetz: well of course my familiar would be fast! It'd be a bit disappointing otherwise.

After a bit of time getting ready, the family went outside to see Quetz's pterosaur outside ready to go!

Quetz: ok everyone! Get on!

The family got onto the large flying reptile.

Rex: ok then. Now just a simple invisibility spell so we're not spotted on our way there.

Ed: radar won't work either right?

Rex: right, I've got everything covered, Mijo.

After that, the beast took off!

After some time in the air, their destination was in sight: Mexico City!

Ed: wow!

Mari: such a massive city.

Quetz: ah, it's been too long since we've been here.

Finally the pterosaur landed and they got off to go out into the city!

Rex: man, this place brings back memories!

Ed: so, where to first anyways?

Quetz: it's up to you guys

Mari: breakfast!

Rex: ok yeah, should probably eat first

*stomachs were growling*

The family went to a nice restaurant for their breakfast.

Quetz: mija, those are a lot of pancakes...

Mari: si, and?

Rex: your mother is just a bit concerned for you is all.

Mari: hmmm, sounds unnecessary.

Rex: also Ed, is that enough bacon?

Ed: hmmm.... maybe.

After breakfast, there were still many things that could be done.

First thing, was visiting the old site of Teotihuacan.

Quetz: *sigh* it's been a very long time.....

Mari: looks kinda.... decrepit.

Rex: kinda par for the course with old ruins and shit.

Ed: ....is there a ball court?

Quetz: si, but I doubt we're allowed to play these days.

Ed: awww....

Next stop, was the Aquarium.

Mari: Shork

Rex: ya real fascinated by those sharks huh?

Quetz: don't ya wanna see the penguins?

Ed: Penguins?!?!

Rex: also piranhas.

Mari: PIRANHAS?!?!?!

Next was the Zoo

Rex: mi corazon, it's just a random Jaguar. There's no need to cause a scene.

Quetz: I CAN SEE MY STUPID BROTHER TAUNTING ME THROUGH IT'S EYES!!!!

Mari: Mamá, not every Jaguar is Tio Tez.

Ed: we're gonna get kicked out if you don't stop.....

Rex: really hope there aren't any spiders too.

Another fun site, was the museum.

Ed: so..... this is Piedra del Sol?

Quetz: si

Mari: but... so is your noble phantasm?

Quetz: si

Ed: ....how does that work?

Rex: don't ask too many questions about this kinda stuff. You'll get it eventually.

Finally, it was getting a bit late. So it was time to return home.

Mari: we getting the presents now?!?!?

Rex: si, si. You relax will ya?

Ed: you already know she can be a bit greedy.

Quetz: it's better that you try to relax that, Mija.

When they finally got home, a Large assortment of presents were waiting for them.

Mari: Hell yeah!

Ed: hmmmmmm......

Mari: let's see.... which one first....

Mari first grabbed one with.... very unique wrapping, eyes and other odd things decorated the paper.

When she unwrapped it, what was inside was a plush wolf

Mari: AAAWWW!!!

Ed, opening a similar box, got a plush Narwhal.

Ed: oooooh!

And the horn started to glow

Ed: huh

Rex: ....that's a sword

Quetz: it's definitely a sword

Mari: also, my plush smells poisonous.

Rex: well.... that's par for the course for your Tia Quinny.

Next were.... slot machines?

Ed: so we just... pull them?

Quetz: I guess so?

The twins pull the levers of the slot machines.

The machines spun their slots for a time, until finally stopping on 3 symbols that looked like present boxes. Then out of the machines, popped out tickets for both kids.

Mari: oh

Ed: huh

From Mari's popped out VIP tickets to a Music Festival.

Mari: POG

And from Ed's popped out, a soccer season pass.

Ed: oh word?!

And finally, matching tickets for the two, for "5 hours of use of the Mooncell" from BB

Mari: ......

Ed: .......

Quetz: well that sure is.... interesting.

After that, was another box. Wrapped in blue wrapping paper. The two unwrapped it, and inside were two gecko eggs. Along with incubators and everything necessary to raise lizards. With a lil tag saying "from Calamity" (Chalchiuhtlicue)

Mari: LIZARD

Ed: they're cute!

Next were two VERY big gifts wrapped in bone patterned wrapping.

Mari: gimme!

After Mari unwrapped the gift, what she found was a VERY large obsidian Hammer.

Mari: ah hell yeah!

SLAM

Ed: damn.... ok.

For Ed, was a large Obsidian Club.

Ed: oh fuck, ok.

Rex: there a reason Xolotl decided to give such gifts?

Quetz: good question.....

Then a very deep and loud *CROAK* was heard

Ed: FROGE

Then hopping out, was a very VERY large bullfrog. About a foot and a half in length!

Ed: OH HE'S A LARGE LAD!

Mari: damn.

Rex: mija, look behind that tree.

Mari: hmm?

When Mari looked, she saw a Huge car! Modeled after the Batmobile!

(Tho, with bat theming replaced with skulls)

Mari: HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!

After latching onto the car, Mari was very happy.

Mari: finally.......! I can drive!

Quetz: can we trust her with that?

Rex: we'll play it by ear.

And in a small package near the center of the pile. Was a first aid kit, with a note.

"Happy birthday you two, hope you enjoy the car and frog. And don't forget to stay safe with the first aid kit love, Florence, Julius and Eva."

Mari: awwww.....

Ed: so sweeet....

There were many other presents from friends and family alike, more toys, clothes, even laptops too.

Then it was finally time for Rex and Quetz's presents for the kids.

Boom

Mari: the hell?

Then, out of the trees of the nearby jungle, came a large animal. A dinosaur known as Giganotosaurus.

Mari: oh...!

The creature stomped up to the family, until it stopped in front of Mari.

Mari: holy crap.....

Rex: now you have your own divine familiar too, Mija!

Mari: oh shit!

Quetz: si, wasn't sure why you didn't get one the same time as Ed's Pliosaur, but now we got you one!

Mari: finally!

Quetz: and for Mijo, it may not be as big. But since you already got your Pliosaur. We got you this instead.

In Quetz's hands, was what looked to be an electric eel. Tho it glittered with green sparkles, not unlike that of jade.

Ed: whoa, he's an odd lil guy.

Rex: he's very special too. He's not just any electric eel. But a divine construct at that!

Quetz: si, his name is Onotlachin. The storm fish.

Ed: hot damn!

Ed held the lil guy in his hands, and felt the energy within the fish. It also seemed perfectly fine without water.

Ed: he's amazing, gracias!

Mari: si! Gracias for this!

Rex: no problem you two!

Quetz: si, anything for mis hijos!

A/N: and there's the birthday story. Sorry it came out a bit late. Things happened irl. Hopefully everyone likes it! And the festivities can still continue on throughout the weekend and even longer if anyone wants to celebrate with us.
