I’m not even going to pretend that my deep and abiding need to see Fred Thursday hug Morse or (when Morse is ill or asleep) brush his hair out of his face isn’t reflective of deep psychological and trauma-related needs in me.
Of course it is. That doesn’t mean I’m not artistically right too. :D
there are no words to express how much I adore the hospital scene in canticle. it’s just,,, perfect. so pretty. the concern. the relief. drowsy morse. corned beef. love it.
I was inspired by @jasmiinitee to try my hand at animation so here’s a very choppy 15fps first attempt at rotoscoping. I definitely wasn’t aiming for perfection or even length, it was just fun to do
hello everyone this is attempt number one to get everyone to watch endeavour ( one day I will make a serious and well thought out version of this post. but until then, have this. )
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH ENDEAVOUR !
do you like whump? if so, THIS IS THE SHOW FOR YOU! the writers unapologetically whump the protagonist all the time! he gets stabbed, shot, beaten up, drugged, you name it! and emotional whump, you say? this man is on the verge of tears after his neighbour makes breakfast for him!
do you like found family? then you’ll love inspector ThursDAD and SONstable morse!
do you like characters who genuinely love so hard but are DISASTERS at actual relationships? PERFECT! morse accidentally goes on a date with a murderer!
also there are clever cases and crimes and character development and all that shit. it’s good i promise.
y’all ever wonder if the reason we lable father figures in media so quickly (dadmiral chris pike, dadptain holt, inspector thursdad, etc.) is cause none of us actually had good father figure growing up?
like fuck y’all “girls marry their fathers” pyschology, maybe we just want a decent stable man with good credit history
If Bruce Wayne arrived in late 60s/early 70s Oxford, he would immediately get into a scrap with Thursday over who got to adopt Morse.
(I am confident Thursday would win, Batman gear or no Batman gear, but it would be very entertaining to watch Bruce try. ;-) )
(Thursday winning would be a huge relief to Morse, for any number of reasons but one is that Bruce is so much his type when it comes to men that it’s not even funny...)
Morse thinks he's finally moved on from the relationship that left him scarred.
He's starting out on a new path with Peter and things seem good.
Then a figure from his past returns and everything goes horribly wrong.
