Romance Showcase Event: TAG: Love & Thunderbirds

Calling all romance fans of the TAG fandom! Love is in the air (and in space, and underwater...)!

This event is to showcase stories and art, old and new, that has romantic love as it's main theme. Want warm and fuzzy cuddles, awkward crushes or burning passion? You'll find it here!

To participate, post or reblog and use the tag #TAG:Love&Thunderbirds. Doesn't have to be your own stuff, you can link to works you like and want to share with the fandom. Just make sure to credit the original creator (no reposting please).

I'm not planning a specific start or end date for this event, so there's no deadline, you can post whenever you want.

A few ground rules:

-All ships are welcomed, even OC ships, as long as the story is centered on romance. Respect other people's ships even if they're not ones you like. Don't forget to tag your ships so that people can find/avoid them (everyone wins that way!)

-Please tag/warn for any adult or triggering content.

-Please credit the artists if you are not the creator of the work.

This is my first time starting an event, I hope to do a good job. If you have any suggestions you can send me a message.

I’m just spamming you guys with these two because I love them. They just a pair of besties (or more, if you ship it), hanging out by the pool on their off time. Gordon may be an Olympic swimmer, but he’s truly no match for someone who claims to have Black Marlin in her bloodline XD 🦑🐠

I was tempted to ask if anyone can draw Virgil and Gordon dancing on a floor piano, you know, like Tom Hanks in the movie Big?

But I realised that I could do it myself

When I joined @tagminibang2022 as an artist I fully expected to be drawing the boys as I usually do, but when it came down to deciding what to draw, the mental image that really jumped out at me was this:

Jeff made his way to the bed and the etching on the wall. Scott wasn’t much of an artist—unlike Virgil—but when it came to mechanical design he could draw well enough and the pictures of all the birds surrounding what looked like their island was enough to make his eyes water.

From @tenjounotora‘s fic What if... Scott where it was Scott who ended up on the Zero-X instead of Jeff.

Unlike Scott in this fic, I wouldn’t say I can really do mechanical design, and drawing the ‘birds was a challenge, but it was also really fun!  As it’s an etching, there was no room for mistake - or rather, no way of removing any wrong lines - so I refused to use the erase tool to clear anything up and treated it as though everything was irreversible (although I will admit to some cheating in the form of sketching them out first, which is a luxury Scott didn’t have).  It’s certainly far from perfect, but I hope it caught the essence of the description in the ways that matter!

It’s finally the 16th!! 🥳

I knew exactly what fic I wanted to use as soon as I was given @angelofbenignmalevolence to create art for for @tagminibang2022 @tagminibang! I remember it being one of the first fics I read when I was new to the thunderfam and still too nervous to actually interact with anyone 😅

I have never been able to get the image of little Gordon trapped under a dinosaur skull out of my head since!

Admittedly, this is an unspectacular image of Virgil Tracy just sitting around... but I had fun drawing it and playing around. Perspective is a little off... but oh well. I don't care too much to be honest. 

You might have expected something more exciting when I teased the sketch thing... But I just wanted something cozy - Virgil between missions relaxing on the sofa and playing on his phone (though I am not even sure they have mobile phones anymore ... it was easier to draw than a holo communicator thingy ... 🤷‍♀️ I just take the liberty for my small fanart). 

The potted plants are once again a CSP asset - asset makers make artists's lives so much easier sometimes. Bless them!
