I would love your feedback! --- Today, I wanted to share a portrait of officers of the 111th Regiment of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry. The photograph was taken in Nashville, TN on 2 Dec 1864. The names of the officers has been written in cursive on the cardboard mount, shown here. --- This would have been during the American Civil War, where Ohio provided the federal government with 260 regiments of men, including infantry, artillery, and cavalry units. Ohioans also served in several other regiments from other states, most notably from Kentucky, West Virginia, and Massachusetts, as well as in federal units. These infantry regiments were known as regiments of Ohio Volunteer Infantry.
