Bully twist au v.s reader (untouchable) part 3

《Summary》: They were just so clingy. If was suffocating, or it should be that way, but you left your ability to care about someone else's feelings back in your world and you were tired of pretending.

Malleus: Heart of stone

You had endured him. This was all you could say. You stayed with him during his clingy sides, even his physical attacks, you had stayed through them.

But you didn't care about him.

"Malleus get off me." You say without any care in the world. He was hugging you and as soon as he comprehended your sentence he frowned.

"Child of man, you are just some weak human, I could crush you any second." He murmurs and you simply shrug, getting yourself out of his hug.

"I guess I am just a weak human. I still don't care about you."

Malleus was taken aback by how emotionless you sounded. There was no trembling in your voice nor fear. Just emptiness. He needed time to process that, giving you a chance to flee. But you don't run like you usually do, you just walk...

Sebeks fist collides with your face. "You dared to hurt my liege!" He exclaims in anger, expecting you to shiver in fear like you usually do, but you stare at him coldly not even an ounce of fear in your eyes.

"I don't care. Your "liege" has more things to worry about than me." You were tired of pretending to be a good punching bag. You never really cared about that, it had just gotten to the point were you lacked the energy to pretend.

"YOU'RE GOING TO DIE FOR THIS HUMAN! HOS DARE YOU DISRESPECT WAKA-SAMA THAF WAY!" He screeched in your ear and you simply cover them, waiting until his outburst is finished.

"I will die anyway. I have no gain out of fearing death." You mutter awaiting Sebeks punches. He couldn't hit you. There was no joy in it, no reaction, just eyes staring at him.

A few days passed with Malleus trying to scare you, bully or even guiltrip you, but everything he did just hit death ears. It was as if the heart he always thought he could shatter in a million pieces was made out of pure stone. And not the ones that would be pretty once you break them, no, a simple ugly dull stone.

"Fufufu~ if that isn't the prefect! Tell me, why is Malleus always so sad lately? I thought I told you to be a good pet!" Lilia exclaimed, but you just stare at him. No fear, no nothing only a reflecting coldness.

"I don't care about him." You look at Lilia and if looks cold kill you would be dead, but you really didn't care. You had no pity for Malleus, there was only emptiness.

"Well what made you think you could talk back like that? You're just a mere human!" You roll your eyes. The belitteling always stated that humans were weaker than Fairys.

"I am kinda lucky they burned your kind in my world. We don't have to deal with some stupid fae showing off." You didn't care who you hurt with saying that, you didn't care about the fact Lilia was currently beating the shit out of you. You didn't care about the fact that Malleus heard you and looked like he was about to cry.

The best part of you had stayed in your own world and your body was left with a heart of stone.

Kalim: My world is blue

There was one way to describe this spoiled child named Kalim. Loved. The way he had Twisted your existence in such a way that everyone thought you were a leech trying to feed off him. Everyone loved him, he was like a idol spreading love, controlling his fanbase.

But even when he made the whole school hurt you, you still didn't come to him. You still didn't bother being around him, you refused being his punching back. All the jewels he had gifted you were turned down, all the tears he spent crying in front of you were in vain. You still didn't give a damn about him.

"Kalim, get off me." You push him away, making Kalim crash to the ground, tears in his eyes. He was crying again. You scoffed, you made the mistake once believing his crocodile tears.

"You are so mean for no reason!" He yelled angrily walking towards you. "I gave you so many things, why are you being so selfish!" He choked out and you flick his forehead.

"Because I am selfish." You walked away after saying that, feeling amazing. You really didn't care about what would await you in Ramshackle, nor what the other students said, only you were the center of your world.

"Prefect! Kalim had been crying for more than an hour now! Go apologise you selfish bitch!" Jamil growled but you didn't bother opening the door. You sat on the couch watching the fly dance across the room, getting lost in your own mind.

There had been multiple students knocking on your door, even trying to break in, but you were unbothered by this. You felt like sunshine and rainbows.

"How dare you not apologise!" Kalim yells at you. You had sadly needed to step out of Ramshackle because of a request from Crowley and ended up being dragged to Kalim by some student. He was currently throwing everything he had at you, but you looked at him with a bored expression.

"Don't you feel bad in the slightest bit?" He suddenly questions notices all he tried was in vain. He couldn't get an reaction out of you, not even a little flinch when something came flying at you.

"No, my world is blue and that's all that matters."

Trey: rotten teeth

Trey tried to get under your skin, by at first seeming very friendly and nice, before shoving biscuits down your throat, trying to make you feel bad after for eating so much.

But you had no intention to mind. Trey was just another person who you could avoid. You wouldn't need to talk to him and you really didn't care about his tries to make you uncomfortable.

Everyone was just the same in this school, looking down on you cause you were a mere human without magic. Those were the rules made by nature. The strong eat the weak and you were picked out to play the part of the weak.

Trey would sometimes find you, expecting you to tremble again like you used to when you saw him, but there was nothing. Just a blank hastily muttered "oh." Before you brushed past him. It irked him that he had no control over you, kinda as if you had decided to throw your feelings out of the window.

Trey stared at you after having finally gotten a hold of you, again forcing sweets down your throat. You weren't even given time to chew. Meanwhile he decided to call you out on your weight as if he wasn't the one force feeding you.

He expected a reaction out of you, something that he could work with, but you only shrugged and muttered: "you should stop making me eat sweets than."

There was nothing more to it. No crying no embarrassment only coldness. It irked him, when did you stop caring about what he did, when did you stop shivering when you saw him.

Were was the old you?

But the more he thought about it the more he realised that this was always you. You had finally giving up on pretending to be scared.

He knocks on the Ramshackles door with a few cookies, you open it offering him a blank stare. You eye the cookies, before looking back at him.

"I should reduce my sugar intake, otherwise my teeth will be rotten." And you slam the door shut.

I love writing this series and I hope you like reading it! Well if you want, speculate about the next reader! Will they be insane like in part one? Out for revenge like in part two? uncaring like in this part? Or someone completely diffrent?

Thoughts and Reaction to Guiltrip!

Alright, so this one is a bit more of a serious one for me. But I'll be going in order of the episode so the more serious talk will be a bit further down! First thing we get is this lovely moment:

I've already addressed it in a post, but I'll say it again here. Guiltrip is episode 11, several episodes take place before Guiltrip that we haven't seen yet, so this is awhile after Marinette and Luka broke up. We also know that Marinette has always had feelings for Adrien, even when she was with Luka. Luka always knew that fact too. None of this is new and is to be expected, obviously, when Love Square is endgame. But! I also want to point out here that this is just a soft look. Very gentle, very common. I see people looking at each other both in real life and in other shows all the time. A look that says "I adore you". And I think it's sweet! Very subtle, but enough. Something's wrong with Rose. We never get told (in this episode anyway) what it is, but it's a chronic illness that's a worry in Rose's life, ever since she was young. I feel really bad for Juleka, knowing that her friend's been struggling with an illness, and whenever something happens she has to worry about it alone. Also that really sucks when you try to cheer somebody up and make a joke, that because you were mislead about a situation you end up making things worse. Poor Marinette. :c Adrien when he realizes he's bumped into someone (and the pink bubbles to remind us of Marinette's feelings for him):

Scroll up now and look at how Marinette was looking at Adrien earlier that day. It's the exact same look. Yet, something feels different from usual to me, idk. But continuing on. Marinette gets slightly jumbled with her words, but manages to give herself a kick and says nope not now! Good for her! You can't expect to change overnight, but she's working on it.

She looks to the side, gathering her surroundings for a split second and she misses the top step. I'd like to say that this is just a joke for the show but well, this kind of thing has happened to me a lot because I'm that much of a klutz so I feel for her here. (On Halloween I forgot that there was another step as I was walking down as I wasn't paying attention. I couldn't walk on my foot for 2 weeks. It's a serious problem, guys. Really. xDD) Marinette had told Adrien she's concerned it was something she said that upset Juleka and Adrien tells her while sometimes she doesn't make sense, what she says is never mean. This scene reminds me of when Ladybug's worried about something and Chat Noir's there to keep her grounded and remind her of how things really are. I very much appreciate seeing such a scene with Adrienette! Makes the Love Square much more rounded. Also the way he stops her and says let him go talk to her to try to help the situation and any possible misunderstandings from taking place. ;-;

Can I just say... oh my gosh. He went from determined, to hearing Marinette trying to comfort her, to looking with confidence "This girl is amazing." and the whole Ladynoir vibe I'm getting from this scene makes me happy. The thing that's unrealistic about this scene though is you expect to tell me that 8 kids went down those stairs and came up behind them and Marinette, Adrien, and Juleka didn't hear? XD Now here's where the serious comes in. Rose is hospitalized with an illness we don't know about, but has been a long-term thing that has Juleka really worried a lot. That must be so stressful :c I'm going to be honest and say I never really saw Julerose romantically. Like I can see how people do, but to me, I could see that their bond was really unique. It didn't really fit completely in the "BFF" category either. But if felt like there was more to them that I didn't really understand. I think the best example off the top of my head was during Zombizou, when Rose was going to help Chloe after she slid down Chat's stick and she went too fast for him to catch her. Juleka seemed especially worried and concerned for her. Rose never seemed to get concerned about Juleka in the same way Juleka was about Rose. Juleka's always been more protective and worried and it was always one of those things that made me go "hmm, interesting". Now this episode finally explains why and I'm honestly super glad for it. Because this kind of a relationship is not a common one in media, especially kids media. Partially because having such serious illnesses in young people is not particularly common, and having someone who's so caring and protective of that person is even less common. And most people probably don't realize how amazing it is to have health problems and then have someone in their life who acts like Juleka does for Rose. I had a life-threatening illness as a kid, one that still affects me greatly today. When in school, my friends knew about it without me having to say anything unfortunately, and while they didn't usually treat me differently, sometimes they were pretty ignorant and didn't understand why I wasn't "normal" like them. They asked questions that were harder ones to answer, and tended to forget my answers. I got a lot of "I know you have X problem but I still don't see why you can't..." as well as thinking I was lying if I said I wasn't well and couldn't go to a party, and that was hard to deal with, being limited in what you can do which makes you different and being judged for things out of your control. So seeing these kids who only know something's wrong with her, but are willing to do so much to make her life better and happier, not judging her at all, wanting to take care of her no questions asked was really heart-warming for me. I only had one friend during that time that was anything close to this. I never had to explain anything to him if I didn't want to. He never asked me personal questions I didn't want to answer. And he seemed to know what he could do to make things for me easier if I was having a hard time without me ever saying so. And this is another reminder to me that this show is aimed at kids. To show kids that they'll likely encounter someone around their age that's going through something serious like a health problem, and what that kid needs most is kindness and not to be made to feel like they're even more different from the other kids than they already feel. The way they handled that aspect of it for such a short, limited intro to it, I think they did good. I discussed this next bit with a friend. She mentioned it first, the trope where those with chronic or serious illnesses are usually an "inspiration". With this episode, you kind of get the feeling that because Rose's been through so much, she's therefore a really positive and bubbly person and it kind of gives off the vibe that if you don't view things the way she does, then you're not doing it right. "What matters isn't the problem, but how you handle it." While I agree with this, and that when you come out of or regularly deal with

such hard times, automatically trying to see the world better and brighter can easily happen, but it's not exactly realistic either, at least not to the extent Rose and other people the media has portrayed. For one, I think you have to have always been more of that kind of person from the start to realistically be so positive. As my friend said and I agree, positivity is just who Rose is, she's not who she is just for the sake of a trope. But honestly, when you've gone through something so difficult, and if life continues to throw you more difficulties on top of it, being positive so much can sometimes turn into a negative and be harmful too. When you've been through a lot, it's important to allow yourself to feel the negative too because it's part of dealing with such problems. And if you've been through a lot in life and you haven't come out of it being all sunshine and rainbows, always looking on the brighter side of things, that's perfectly okay. Life's hard and tends not to work out how we'd like, or even for the better sometimes. If being positive and hopeful after struggling is hard to do, you're not bad or wrong for feeling that way, everybody handles things differently. c: ANYWAY, moving on to the rest of the episode! Juleka being all irritated and worried that the class was going to expose her spilling Rose's secret xD While the situation isn't ideal, it's nice that this is the most involved she's seemed with everyone in the entire duration of the show. But Rose knows something's up, and I love that she talks to her about it and realizes that she should've told everyone herself instead of Juleka being the only one who knew. Which has been such a burden on her. (Oh no, what if this is a reflection of Alya knowing Marinette's Ladybug later on? I'm hoping not.) Ugh these children and how much they care about Rose! These kids are the absolute best. But then they kind of ruin it a little with going overboard. Which, frankly, I think is just ignorance of her situation really. I mean, we don't know what exactly is wrong with Rose. Just that she ends up in the hospital. If they knew about her condition, what causes her to get sick, what to look out for, etc, they'd be much more informed and much less likely to be frantic whenever something's not perfectly "normal" with her. All of these kids are going to be overprotective parents someday, aren't they?

Okay so like... are Adrien and Marinette going to question at all how Ladybug and Chat Noir showed up immediately after Juleka was akumatized, and no damage had happened outside of the school for it to be known to the public? Literally the only ones that could've possibly known were the class to have shown up that fast. ??? I am confusion. "I can't help my best friend face his father." "No, Nino..." Two things: The fact that THIS is what he's feeling guilty about? My poor Nino! Dx I just love him, he really doesn't get enough love and appreciation imo. Also, um, isn't Ladybug like right by Chat? Didn't she hear that? What? Idk but I feel like we're really missing something here. Usually we get things that are kind of hints, that make us wonder if they know right, but this? This is a bit too blaring-in-your-face, and there's two major things so close together. Really strange. Chat about to use Cataclysm on himself. Good grief that was not expected. Chat Blanc threatened to destroy himself along with everything else. Now Chat Noir while affected with negative emotions from an akuma almost Cataclysmed himself. This show really is getting deep and dark isn't it. o.o Also is there something Adrien needs to work out with someone...? Daizzi and Rose saying the other's so cute, ugh they're both so cute! And Pigella's costume and transformation is so adorable omg. Okay so Pigella's power allows people to see their biggest wish, the thing that'd make them the most happy and feel positive emotions. I know some people probably think "That's it?" Considering that Shadow Moth preys on people's negative emotions, such a power is actually extremely useful facing Shadow Moth. (And let's not forget, that while that's her power, she has the ability to fight and make a difference just from being transformed too) BUT AWWW Juleka's wish! And her face when Pigella said it aloud. ;-; Am I the only one wondering if Pigella may someday use her power on Shadow Moth and that's how they learn his motive? I'm so impressed with how Rose knew how to handle everything. She knew she can't slip up with Juleka. She knew to sneak away to detransform and come back as Rose. She knew to subtly give the Miraculous back so nobody would ever know she had it. Even Chat Noir had no idea! I don't know why, I'm just so very proud of that. "She doesn't need a Miraculous to be a superhero." She really has the characteristics of one, and I can't wait to see more of Pigella. Also I'm really wondering. This scene here:

All the kids that are part of that friend group are there...except Marinette and Adrien, of course. Alya knows why Marinette isn't there. But is she wondering about why Adrien isn't there too? LOL Marinette being like "I'm taking your pillow back, sorry! Gotta wait for it like everyone else." and the boys being like LE GASP. Marinette's right, she's not fragile! The fact Rose jokes with her and makes everyone laugh, and Chloe saying "Hey, why doesn't everyone laugh when I say something like that?!" Adrien: Because in your case, it's never a joke. Chloe: Hm, that's true. Which is super funny, especially how he just so casually says it. But also it really shows again how Chloe wants to be liked. She wishes the kids would laugh when she makes comments, but it's because they're said in a serious/obnoxious way, instead of making light of something like in Rose's case here, that they don't. I know she talked about it with Ladybug in an episode, but it again shows that that's what she'd like. All that needs to happen is someone helping her get there. Maybe Zoe and Luka will somehow help with that later on. Anyway, this was a really great episode! I feel like some things might not make quite as much sense as they should if we got it in order, but what can you do when Gloob has to air them? Even a friend of mine who's been doing what she can to avoid spoilers, still got spoiled. She's having to delete tumblr to avoid future spoilers because people can't help themselves and tag things properly. So thanks Gloob. :P All we wanted was the episodes in order. We've waited this long for S4, we can wait a bit longer. But they gotta make money I guess. I'm glad other countries are trying their best to keep it in order anyway. c: Guiltrip also has some really great Adrienette moments, and covered a more serious topic which was really interesting and shows how much the show's changing. Especially with some of the choice of camera angles and movements! Like the zoom-in on the door with Adrien and Marinette, the boys LE GASP scene. Very cool artistic choices! Looking forward to the episodes that come before this one to try to help fill in some of the gaps! And apologies to those that frequently read these posts from me, I started writing it up late and couldn't finish so you get it the day after instead. xD

Thinking about an AU I like to call: None of This Woulda Happened If Adrigami Stayed Together 😌 (I don't have the energy to write it atm so I'm using the tried and true method of Tumblr bullet points)

Adrien decides he doesn't want Kagami to hate him so he just blurts out that he's Chat Noir before she can leave

Kagami's so shocked the akuma can't lock onto her anymore

Plagg thinks this is a bad idea but revealing himself erases any doubt Kagami might've had

She's very understanding but insists he make it up to her

Adrien: 🥺

Kagami: *kisses him on the lips*

Adrien: 😍

He talks to her about how he feels as Chat Noir. Kagami is a very good listener

Adrien encourages her to pursue interests outside Tomoe's approval. He's very supportive of her artistic endeavors

Chat Noir sneaks Kagami out so they can have a proper date without being on their parents' timer

Mr. Pigeon 72 never happens since Marinette doesn't have a reason to show up to Adrien's photoshoot

Adrien ends up exhausted from his allergies since the photoshoot went ahead, leading to a real conversation about how he hates them actually

Kagami encourages him to tell his friends how he really feels about the photoshoots instead of letting them think what everyone else does

Nino takes it upon himself to teach the new rich kid how to act like, well, a kid

Su Han showing up makes Adrien think more about the Guardianship. They talk about Master Fu, Ladybug being the new Guardian, the Order

Which makes Adrien feel guilty about keeping it a secret from Ladybug that he told someone his identity.

After his falling out with Chloe, Kagami states that she thinks Adrien did the right thing and that he isn't responsible for her reaction

Kagami learns what happened the last time Felix was there and insists they keep an eye on him

They overhear Gabriel being supervillain-y to Felix and resolve to watch him closer too (nothing incriminating tho)

Mega Leech and Guiltrip lead into more conversations about their parents. Something that comes up is how Tomoe will listen, sometimes, but Gabriel never does

This helps them better understand the differences in their situations and grow closer

Optigami and Sentibubbler results in their first fight because Adrien insists that everything is fine when Kagami can clearly see that everything is not fine

Glaciator 2 happens because Andre the ice cream fraud doesn't ship Adrigami

Something, something, lesson about how couples fight sometimes but the important thing is to talk to the other person

Adrien admits that he feels like Ladybug doesn't need him anymore

Hack-san starts off almost identically but when Chat Noir gets to the part where he says Ladybug would've told him about Scarabella he trails off guiltily

This gives Scarabella enough time to convince him that she's telling the truth.

Adrien isn't happy about it but they manage to beat Robostus with Scarabella's Lucky Charm

Ladybug and Chat Noir have a conversation about Scarabella and Adrien admits that he told someone his identity

Ladybug is shocked and has a mini freakout before settling into a guilty sort of sadness (cause that's exactly what she did and it feels terrible)

They agree not to tell each other who their respective secret keepers are and part amicably

Kagami isn't upset at Adrien for that like he thought she'd be. Just wondering how it changes things

Adrien's growing (but still fragile) self confidence makes it a little easier to fight Rocketear

The aftermath is messy because Adrien doesn't want to reveal Nino's identity to anyone else but it hurts to keep it bottled up. Especially now that Adrien has someone he can actually talk to about everything

In the end it's Plagg who spills the secret cause he forgets Kagami wasn't there (the geass only affects names so she puts the context together easily)

Plagg says his line about Ladybug being the Guardian. Kagami takes the opposite stance.

Telling Nino the truth comes up as a potential solution but they decide to hold off for now

With the career fair approaching they talk about what they want

Kagami is very much okay with going as far as she can in fencing but does want to branch out more

Adrien... doesn't know what he wants.

She suggests going to the fair together so Adrien can decide for himself

He gets sad again when childhood dreams come up because he doesn't remember having one

Kagami says she doesn't remember her first one either but that didn't stop her from pursuing new dreams

Chat Noir is more focused during the fight so Viperion doesn't learn anyone's identities

Kagami gets tired of hiding her relationship from her mother and after one of Simpleman's blasts she tells Tomoe that Adrien is her boyfriend

Tomoe isn't pleased about being lied to but is accepting of her daughter's relationship

Gabriel can't do anything directly since angering the Tsurugis is not a smart business decision

Adrien doesn't hold Kagami's actions against her since they were influenced by an akuma and is also relieved Gabriel didn't do anything (as far as they know)

Chat Noir saves the world from Tikki's creation. The Ladyblog makes a Chat Noir appreciation compilation, it makes international news, Ladybug is a bit distracted by her kwami (he would be too honestly) but she gives him that smile he's subconsciously started comparing to Nino's, Kagami let's him pick the cringiest anime he wants to watch together. Adrien rides that high for a solid week

This gives Adrien enough of a boost to ask Ladybug if they can talk

(insert scene where Ryuko whisks Adrien off in front of dozens of reporters with the blatant lie that the akuma is after him so Chat Noir can Cataclysm the safe) (I need it okay?)

They meet at the Eiffel Tower and Chat Noir finally tells Ladybug how he's been feeling sidelined and useless.

Ladybug realizes that she didn't think about how all this must've looked like from his perspective but insists he isn't useless even if she needs to call on a different Miraculous to win the fight

Chat Noir insists that he can help her more and Ladybug gets evasive

The discussion heats up into an argument until Ladybug eventually blurts out that she can't let him in because Chat Blanc would happen

Chat Noir listens, confusion turning into horror as she describes the experience until she finally ends with Chat Blanc's line: "Our love destroyed the world."

Adrien is quiet for a moment before he replies with a bittersweet smile: "Well, I guess we don't have to worry about him anymore. I have a girlfriend."

There's shock and relief and a little bit of sadness in Ladybug's expression as she collapses

Ladybug tells him about Rena Furtive and Su Han and Chat Noir is angry about that but he listens

They don't talk for a few days as Adrien lets himself be mad at Ladybug. Talking to Kagami about what happened.

Joining up again, Ladybug decides to tell him more about the Guardianship; how she discovered how to make the magic charms, potion making, what all the other Miraculous do, the identities of all the holders Hawkmoth already knows (for starters)

Eventually the Grimoire pops up and Adrien realizes how important that book is

He makes a plan with Kagami to sneak into his father's office

Plagg opens the safe again and they find the fake Miraculous. Plagg knows they're fake because he's actually paying attention this time

He also notices that the painting is too thick when he phased through it and the secret elevator opens

Adrien finds his mother's body surrounded by white butterflies and hightails it out of their before Gabriel finds him

Adrien breaks down in Kagami's arms before pulling himself back together. Determined to stop Gabriel

Chat Noir decides it's worth the risk and reveals himself to Ladybug because he's tired of secrets and doesn't feel like hiding who his father is from her

Ladybug also revealing herself when she learns Adrien's father is Hawkmoth

They assemble their team of Nino, Alya and Kagami (the three people Adrien and Marinette agreed to reveal themselves to) to plan

Nino gives Adrien a huge hug as Kagami thanks Marinette for being her friend

Alya is relieved 'cause she doesn't have to keep secrets from her boyfriend and best friend now

They launch a surprise attack, throwing Gabriel off balance. His counterattack is effective but doesn't take Rena Furtive into account.

There's a back and forth until Gabriel takes Nino hostage with a sentimonster

Cue Chat Noir power up

Adrien launches a projectile Cataclysm at the amok object, destroying both it and the feather

They each take turns punching him in the face before Ladybug uses her surprisingly straightforward Lucky Charm to take his Miraculous

Gabriel and Nathalie go to jail

Marinette has a bunch of people who she can lean on when Guardian stuff gets to much instead of just Alya. (Nino and Kagami won't take the Order's nonsense lying down either)

Adrien starts the process of making his bodyguard his legal guardian and has a bunch of friends he can lean on when the fallout starts getting too much. With Kagami being the permanent Dragon Miraculous wielder both of them have an expanded support network

Alya and Nino can be the superhero couple again without hiding it from their best friends. Rena Rouge getting to go back into the public eye and Carapace joining her as a permanent holder

And speaking of dates, Adrien and Kagami go on one without worrying about akuma attacks for the first time since... Ever

What I find impressive about What If episodes is that both of them confirmed that Adrien would never have second thoughts on his father's proposition to join him if Gabriel didn't use Emilie to guiltrip him. In Chat Blanc Gabriel didn't say "we are a father and a son and we should fight on the same side" he specifically said "if she loved you she would let you save your mother". Not only did he made Adrien's girlfriend look bad because she didn't agree on that but he mentioned Emilie as a good reason why Adrien needs to join him. Gabriel knew Adrien wouldn't give in or at least wouldn't give in that easily if Gabriel didn't use Emilie to excuse his actions and blame Ladybug for not joining with a terrorist like him. Adrien loved Emilie so much and he wanted her back but in Chat Blanc Adrien tells Marinette "I will wish for everything to go back to normal so that we can be in love again" I get that he couldn't mention his mom because the plot but he didn't say "to change the reality and to bring back what was taken away from me" he wanted to be with Marinette again and he thought that she would understand if she listens to him. He was always on her side, he just didn't want to hurt his father also so he aimed at himself and hurt himself. He loves Gabriel and doesn't want to hurt him but he wouldn't choose his side. Remember how in Chat Blanc his first reaction was almost cataclysming his father but then he stopped. He is angry but he can't hurt him.

In Ephemeral, If Gabriel didn't take him to the basement Adrien wouldn't have gotten akumatized when he found out, Emilie is always the one thing that made him question his choice. He didn't want to help Hawk Moth, even though it was his own father, he didn't want to betray his girlfriend, but he wanted his mom back.

That's what always gets me when I watch these episodes. Him and Emilie really had something special, it was probably what Félix and Amelie have. There is no doubt that the situation got even more extreme now, after all this Adrien would NEVER side with his father.

This is why I never thought Adrien was ooc when he forgot about Ladynoir conflict in Ephemeral and immediately wanted to date Marinette after the reveal. While Marinette was behaving ooc in this part he wasn't. Ladybug was always his finale choice, which is common sense at it's finest because if I had a chance to choose between a person who loves me and a person who hates me I would make the choice but the problem is that he had another person who loves him to think about.

Two achievements unlocked! Alright!! I am honored to be a named anon 🥺

Yes, please, let him know he’s allowed to be sad and angry and make mistakes to learn from ;-; that they both have the power to fix what’s been broken, just as they are both allowed to be the one to break it in the first place - they’re both still learning and under so much pressure...

I love that Marinette opened up to Alya and it’s been shown throughout the season that having someone to rely on has been very good for her, even if it did take a while to get past the panic of trusting someone else - Alya was able to talk to her and calm her down and prove that she was trustworthy when the chips were down, and the fact she decided not to hide things from Nino showed that she knows how important having a support structure is and that hiding things from loved ones is not always the best way to protect them from getting hurt - that emotional hurt from secrets and lies can be just as damaging as being threatened outright by a supervillain - the end result is the same; from Truths to Lies to Gang of Secrets, what finally stopped the hurting was when Marinette came clean to Alya, and Alya continued that trend in Rocketear when she realized how much her secret was hurting Nino. Not telling someone a secret that involves them and their relationship to you is a good way to keep that information from falling into the wrong hands if that person gets akumatized, but sharing the secret is a good way to keep them from getting akumatized in the first place. Unfortunately, the opposite has been implied to Marinette with Chat Blanc and Ephemeral... so Alya is going to have her work cut out for her trying to convince Marinette of that in regards to Chat Noir specifically, because he’s the common thread between the two situations. So from her perspective, he is probably the last person she thinks she can open up to right now without world-altering consequences ;-;

In the same vein, I think it’s been leading to Plagg being the only person Adrien has felt able to open up to without consequences? 🤔 Nathalie proved that her loyalty lies with Gabriel way back at the beginning of the series, he might have gone to Nino before Rocketear happened but then Rocketear happened, Gabriel himself is an obvious no, Kagami wasn’t willing to listen to him in Lies when he tried to respond to her heart to heart with uncertain(of himself) honesty, and the few times he went to Marinette ended in someone being akumatized (though only one of those was a direct result of Marinette’s desire to sell the script and had little to do with Chat Noir trying to reach out to someone and more to do with him trying to be honest about his feelings, the other two were more happenstance) - so while he can maybe see Marinette as a viable option to confide in after Glaciator 2 (the same way Chat Noir saw her as an option in Glaciator, and Adrien saw her as an option in Frozer), the implication has been that she’ll get dragged into whatever the fallout is, and since Puppeteer 2 outlined more uncertainty between them than it really fixed (he gets sad and quiet when she wraps her arms around herself and turns away) and Glaciator 2 even had that whole... second trash can scene... I think his thoughts on Marinette and whether she’s someone he can open up to or not are pretty garbled by what he’s seen of her as Adrien. With Guiltrip in the mix, too, actually 🤔 he told her to let him talk to Juleka and not do anything, and she went and texted the whole class instead - and then later when she promised Juleka that none of their behavior would change around Rose, or even promising Rose herself that- he ended up being the only calm person in the room while Marinette led the class in a freakout over a sneeze (they did all learn their lesson and calm down after, but the initial reaction still sticks in the mind), so he’s seen that when she comes across a problem she immediately goes into fix-it mode, even if fixing it isn’t simple or even the right thing to try and do in a moment. He might even wonder if her immediate solution to fixing his worries about Ladybug would be to go straight to Ladybug about it herself (not that, she’d have much choice in the matter...) instead of giving him the chance to decide what he wants to do. In fact, the only reason he opened up to Marinette in Glaciator 2 is because Marinette opened up to him first. So it was almost more him responding to her vulnerability with his own. And then he was so excited to help her with her confession when they got back, until the akuma interrupted again. (I’m not gonna go into Ladybug since 1. she has said she can’t know his identity and 2. that was a huge part of the last ramble already, but suffice it to say he doesn’t really consider her on his list of real possibilities)

So yeah, I think his only solid option is Plagg, in his mind, since Plagg is the only one he’s had both listen to him when he didn’t know what to do (even if he complained, he still went along with what Adrien wanted to do, instead of pushing the issue) and not turn around to tell someone else information they weren’t supposed to know (...yet). There was Sandboy and sneaking off, but after that episode it seemed like they only got closer as kwami and holder, and Plagg had promised never to do it again (and hasn’t).

So them taking that step to really open up and confide in each other is almost more a leap of faith at the moment, isn’t it? Neither one knows that that faith is mired in how much they mean to each other, so it’s so much stronger than either currently believes.

I’m not 100% certain where I was going with any of that, but I think this ramble has gotten long enough asdghdfggff

truth and lies definitely set up the themes of the season imo, which makes ephemeral interesting for seeming to go against that message, but you’re right that it does serve to reinforce why marinette is having so much trouble with this even after seeing how secrets affected alya and nino. because from marinette’s POV she’s having to choose between maintaining her relationships and the fate of the entire world and because of that she’s missing the fact that keeping secrets could also lead to disaster. she knows chat noir can be akumatized but she’s so focused on the things that she knows could get him akumatized that she isn’t considering the other possibilities. (meanwhile alya’s been akumatized twice over marinette’s secrets so telling alya probably seems safer than not telling her)

overall i think adrinette’s friendship as civilians is still pretty tentative from adrien’s POV so yeah, he isn’t ready to confide a whole lot in her yet, but it seems like he is maybe testing the waters a bit. he’s not going to tell her all about his home life because if marinette tries to “fix” that it could be disastrous, but he can try to confess some of his insecurities as chat that are lower stakes to see her reaction. and after glaciator 2 he probably is starting to see her as more of an option for that, but not quite to the point that he’s gonna open up about everything. so yeah plagg really is the only person he can really open up to, especially with secret identities in the mix. which is why i’m still betting there’s SOMETHING with plagg in kuro neko before he quits, maybe not a fight between them but plagg saying the wrong thing to convince adrien to stay. maybe it’ll just be “i’m sorry plagg but you wanting me isn’t enough to stay anymore” in which case i’d feel really bad for plagg 😭

Huh, could’ve sworn I responded to this one. (For the record, that fic is called “Lying on the Job”.)

I don’t have anything in the works exactly, but if I ever had a really good idea, or salt that I could do only in a sequel, I might consider it.

Luka would be surprised at seeing the cat, but given his reaction to being Viperion, he’d be open and willing to the idea. Adrien, meanwhile, is sad to be “replaced so quickly” (as if getting a new cat as soon as possible isn’t incredibly important and would be done immediately regardless). The class would be confused at the sudden replacement and there’d probably be theories (with varying degrees of being hilariously wrong) unless/until Ladybug went and explained why she replaced him.

Miraculous Ladybug Season 4 Episode rankings (As of Optygami’s release)

ML season 4 has knocked it out of the park so far! It’s been absolutely amazing, and I’ve greatly enjoyed every episode.

That being said, some episodes have still been better than others (or have contained elements I find more appealing at least), so what better way to show that than with a ranking?

9. Queen Banana

We got a new hero this episode, and she is awesome! Vesperia and Chat have a nice little interaction, and while Vesperia gets taken out, it’s for a good reason - distracting Queen Banana so Ladybug can put glue in her pocket, disarming her. It was a really nice way of showing Zoe’s humility and ability for teamwork, even when it meant giving up the starring role, in order to complete the group’s overall goal.

The mini-movie felt like foreshadowing, what with the “Superheroine of Creation” being an obvious Ladybug expy, while the “Supervillain of Destruction” was a Chat Noir expy, though with fewer connections. Interestingly, it’s also used to parallel Zoe’s and Chloe’s relationship, with Zoe even quoting from the movie at the end.

And Andre’s character development was top-notch! Bully him around to do material things as much as you like, but hurting Zoe is off-limits. She’s Andre’s daughter too.

So why is it so low down? Simply put, it didn’t feel like it changed things as much as Sole Crusher did, nor did it showcase Marinette’s and Adrien’s relationship as much. It was good, but there was less to talk about concerning it than I thought there’d be.

8. Furious Fu

The first episode of Season 4 aired (even though it was episode 6 in production order), we got some lore drop this episode! Su Han gave us a better idea of what to expect from the Guardians and what their relationship with the kwamis had been like overall. Poor Plagg especially, he’s just treated like a bomb that could go off at any moment.

I especially liked seeing Ladybug and Chat Noir’s relationship this episode, and their differing reactions to Su Han and his proposals. Ladybug was insecure about not having defeated Hawkmoth yet and thought Su Han might have a point about the Miraculous being better in other hands, and for this to be something for the Guardians to handle.

Chat Noir meanwhile didn’t give a crap about Su Han’s authority, about this random guy who just showed up and tried to boss them around; but he DOES respect Ladybug’s, and made that known. That he’d give up his Miraculous, his ticket to freedom and also the vessel for one of his closest friends, Plagg, but only at LADYBUG’S request, not this dude.

But it also showed the limits of that, with him refusing to go along with even that when it’d mean that Ladybug would get amnesia. That he’d not only lose his Miraculous, but his closest, dearest friend as well.

The episode was well done, but just didn’t feel like it either changed things as much or showcased character development as much as the other entries on this list, which is why it’s lower.

7. Sole Crusher

This was our first look at a new character, Zoe, and she did not disappoint! She was absolutely adorable and I really felt for her, with needing to pretend to be nasty in order to not be practically disowned from her family. 

It showcased how much Marinette had grown as well, with having Marinette see through Zoe’s Mean Girl act when they reunite and not jump to hasty negative conclusions, like she did with Adrien, instead considering that there may have been other factors involved with making Zoe act differently while with Chloe.

Also character exploration and growth for Andre, of all characters! Very unexpected. I really wanted him to succeed in his original dream, and I was thrilled at him comforting Zoe, with him empathizing with her, with acting as a parent towards her, even with her being his stepdaughter and presumedly not knowing her very well before this.

Zoe’s ability to anticipate how she’d need to act in order to conform with her family’s expectations while still getting to do what she wanted (for the most part), like with her pretending to be all prissy and stuck up when interacting with Audrey, or pretending that her messaging with Marinette was a setup to betray and humiliate her, showed a great understanding of the people around her as well as some great acting ability. And her realization of how she’d been putting on acts like this for so long before this, of her people-pleasing and afterwards attempting to just be herself, felt like foreshadowing for Adrien’s own arc.

 And we got a few seconds of Marichat. Yay for crumbs!

6. Mr. Pigeon 72

This episode was PACKED. We got to see the followup to Gang of Secrets, with Ladybug freaking out and Alya trying to center her, as well as some followup to Lies, with Marinette trying to “help” Kagami get back together with Adrien. And on top of the stuff that forms the premise of the episode, we got to see Rena Rouge be badass again, Plagg and Ladybug team up, and even Umbrella scene 2, which I don’t think ANYONE saw coming!

Marinette was a lot of fun and we got to see some good stuff from Kagami and Alya here. It felt a little disjointed with how much was crammed into it and I missed Chat Noir, but overall it was really good!

5. Guiltrip

What an amazing episode! Rose is one of the least developed members of the class, mostly being known for being really sweet and being Juleka’s girlfriend, and not much else. Here, we got an inner look at her, at WHY she’s so positive, and how powerful that positivity can be. That she’s not innately positive just because, but that it’s a choice she makes.

Plus the class is AMAZING here. They care about their friends SO MUCH, even if they go about it the wrong way. We got to see Juleka and Rose caring about each other, and even though it went wrong, Rose understands why Juleka ended up spilling her secret and doesn’t blame her for it.

It also really showcased Marinette and Adrien, there different ways of dealing with serious issues, with Marinette jumping ahead and trying to do whatever she thinks will help immediately (help now, ask questions later) while Adrien tried to do the opposite, asking Juleka what she wanted first and trying to stick with that (ask questions first, then help). Both can be useful, depending on the circumstances.

Also got to see a bit more about Adrien’s turmoil, with him being borderline suicidal, and Nino feeling guilty that he wasn’t able to help Adrien with his father, hinting that something bad went down with Gabriel before this. 

There was just a LOT to unpack with this episode, but it all fit together neatly!

4. Lies

All of the “Truth” related episodes were amazing! Lies being no exception. Also our first (and so far only) Adrien-centric episode this season.

Lies catapulted discussion of Adrien’s looming identity crisis, as well as his deflections and near-suicidal behavior, stuff that becomes even more apparent in Guiltrip. The breakup was handled well, with it not being Adrien’s fault (he had to leave and lie for the same reasons Marinette did), but with Kagami’s reaction being totally understandable and valid. She was a very active participant in it, even testing to see whether Adrien had lied. And she was ALLOWED to be pissed afterwards, to not trust him, even though she could tell that he wasn’t just doing this for no reason. 

I wish we’d gotten more time with her as an akuma, but I can see why we didn’t. There just wasn’t that much time in the episode, and the emotional crux of the episode occurred between her and Adrien - there just wasn’t much she could do as an akuma that was gonna add much impact to the episode.

3. Optygami

Oh WOW did this episode make an impact. Major Wham episode in a season chockful of major revelations, status quo changes, and character progression.

 Nathalie and Gabriel actually had a pretty clever plan, spying on the revealed wielders this whole time using the “one sentimonster per wielder, but there can be multiple sentimonsters from different wielders out at the same time” loophole. It meant that Nathalie was actually doing something while she was benched, and I’m willing to bet that she’s the one who came up with the plan in the first place. Say what you will about her morality or her taste in men, but she is an effective supervillain who may be an assistant (and totally fine with that role, which isn’t so common), but one with a lot of agency. And using impostors and try to force a situation where Ladybug would have to give a Miraculous to one of them, and using that opportunity to plant a spy sentimonster in a Miraculous in order to discover Ladybug’s identity and the location of the other Miraculous? Was inspired!

We were baited on there being a Reveal, but that wasn’t exactly a shocker. In any case, we did have a bunch of OTHER cool, impactful stuff. 

Hawkmoth stepped up his game with his sentimonsters, making a couple of impostors to control the situation, with Senti Alec and Senti Nino. Seems like foreshadowing about there potentially being more sentimonsters in disguise...

The major developments everyone’s screaming about though, are:

1. Alya getting her Miraculous permanently, being the first “temporary” wielder to get that honor, and putting her in a greater position to help with any akuma that’s causing more trouble than usual.

2. And the one that’s gotten everyone theorizing, screaming, and writing fics: Chat Noir and Ladybug’s seemingly deteriorating relationship, with a special emphasis on how left out Chat is and just how much he’s being kept in the dark, and how he’s beginning to realize this, feeling unneeded. How much Chat’s hiding his hurt, and how that’s going to lead to some sort of emotional confrontation or breakdown down the line.

My ranking of Optygami may go up or down depending on whether future episodes follow through on what it sets up, especially with the foreshadowed Ladynoir confict.

Looks like we’re gonna have a hiatus after Optygami, considering that we don’t currently have airdates for any more episodes, but what a note to leave off on!

2. Truth

This episode was AMAZING. We got to see Luka and Marinette just hanging out casually, having fun together, like with the little trivia game they played on the way to the theater. Luka even showed a bit of a playful side, with setting up the last question so that the answer would end with “kiss me”. 

Luka was also allowed to feel negative emotions for reasons aside from protecting Marinette, with him feeling down and a little abandoned because of Marinette constantly ditching - something that was given more context, with how we learned that he never knew his father, and how much it bothers him that his mom won’t tell him who it was.

The revelation of Jagged Stone being Luka’s father was one that’d already been leaked way back in January, though few people believed it at the time and it got little attention. It gave Luka a plotline that had nothing to do with Marinette, something that was sorely needed and one that I’m hoping gets expanded on later.

Also had some great Ladynoir, with Chat Noir and Ladybug discussing their relationship during the akuma fight, when they were forced to be truthful to boot! Ladybug really does like Chat’s sense of humor, and Chat doesn’t have a problem with Ladybug’s status as Guardian, so long as it doesn’t interfere with their relationship.

1. Gang Of Secrets

Gang of Secrets was a great followup to Truth, showing Marinette attempting to cope with with breakup, and the subsequent realization that she has to lie to everyone always, and how little time and trust that leaves for her regular relationships.

Meanwhile, the people around Marinette worry and try to help and comfort her as best they can, even when they don’t really know what’s wrong or what to do. From the Girl Squad to Chat Noir to... kind of the kwamis (though with them it’s more lack of understanding of romantic relationships rather than lack of knowledge that holds them back), everyone attempts to help her, but it’s just not feasible under the circumstances for her to be helped the way she needs to be while keeping her secrets.

And in order to keep those secrets, she snaps, forcing all her friends away.

But they don’t take that easily. They want to be there for Marinette, they want to be friends, and become akumatized specifically in order to find out what was wrong, comfort her, fix whatever it was, and become friends again. They really care for her a lot.

And then- AND THEN-!

ALYA DEAKUMATIZES HERSELF

BECOMES RENA ROUGE AGAIN

AND MARINETTE EVEN CONFESSES THAT SHE’S LADYBUG TO HER.

It’s one of the biggest changes to the status quo we’ve had. Like, Master Fu being introduced changed what Marinette was doing, meaning that they could call on new heroes and she had someone to discuss Miraculous stuff with besides Tikki, and Master Fu renouncing his Guardianship and passing it on to Marinette changed what Marinette was doing on a day-to-day basis more, but... well, it didn’t represent as big of a change in themes, of things that had been built up for seasons. Breaking the Secret Identity Rule? DOES.

Also sets up for some potential LadyNoir conflict down the line, with her not having told Chat that she told her identity to someone else yet. I’m sure they’ll be okay in the end, but it could test their relationship and the rules they’ve lived by since they started being superheroes.

So that’s my ranking with the episodes we’ve had released so far. We’re a third of the way through the season and I gotta say, I’m really happy with it so far! Can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for us.

MIRACULOUS GUILTRIP SPOILERS AHEAD

Thanks to episodes unreleased in chronological order (not like I complain I just wanna watch even if it's the final episode), we still don't know if Ladybug already told Cat Noir she revealed her identity to someone or not

But let's say she STILL didn't:

What Adrien said here could be applied on what Marinette did, she kept the fact that she's Ladybug for as long as she could. She arrived to a place where she couldn't take it anymore, she HAD to tell someone, despite her being the one who always insists on keeping their identities a secret.

A lot of fans (including me) were afraid of Cat's reaction when he find out, most assumed he would be hurt or mad.

*MIRACULOUS SEASON 4 SPOILERS AHEAD*

Okay, so, the episode Guiltrip is confirmed and it is the episode where there are bubbles attached to lb and cat (as seen in the trailer).

Based on the episode's name, it's obviously about guilt and I think that the akumatized person(who's probably juleka since we see reflecta)'s power isn't only making people look like her but also make them say what they are guilty about!

AND what if by the time we get to this episode Ladybug STILL didn't tell Cat Noir that she told her best friend her identity and since she will maybe feel guilty about it, and because she'll be under the akumatized person's magic, THAT'S when she'll tell him. In the middle of a fight. Without actually planning on telling it and basically being forced to.

Then Ladynoir angst.

Of course things will be solved later on but for now, Ladynoir angst.

ADRIEN/CAT NOIR DOESN'T IDOLIZE LADYBUG AND HERE'S WHY:

Her FIRST impression on him was that she's CLUMSY. Did you guys forget Origins part 1? Being clumsy is NOT something a "perfect" person would be. And basically in Origins parts 1 and 2, she was NOT sure of herself AT ALL. And he knew that. In the end of Origins part 2, she breaks down and starts doubting herself a lot and he's there for her and comforts her. He knew from the start that she can be insecure, be clumsy, hesitate where she shouldn't, he knows from the start that she's not perfect. And don't forget her break downs in the season 2 finale, the season 3 one and well... season 4 so far. He knows she made mistakes but loves her still and cheers her up when she needs it. Ladrien exists and since Adrien = Cat Noir, he KNOWS how she can be a stuttering mess. And be awkward. And all those traits are imperfect. THERE IS MORE PROOF. In the episode Ladybug, Ladybug says after he finds out who senti-bug is and who the real lb is: "Sorry kitty but you should've known... I'm nowhere NEAR as perfect as her" "I love you just the way you are, M'lady <3" IN OTHER WORDS HE LITERALLY SAID THAT EVEN IF SHE'S NOT PERFECT, HE STILL LOVES HER. Good lord, what’s with the asks based on my Thoughts and Reaction to Guiltrip post because they’re latching onto something I wrote that they don’t “like”? The fandom’s becoming more negative every day. Gloob really doesn’t care, I hate to break it to you. The only reason they’re removing it is because people have been desperately begging them not to air them for awhile now, and they decided it’d be in their best interest not to air Queen Banana. Not because they care about the fans. They’re a company, not our friends. Not the creators of the show who put in a lot of effort to create it for our enjoyment. If they really cared from the start, they’d do what France and Switzerland are doing and keep them in order from the start and respect the people who actually created it to have a specific order. They wouldn’t have aired Guiltrip the other day either. Because I don’t know if you noticed, but Guiltrip had spoilers in it too, maybe not earth-shattering, but it has spoilers that are important. I know a lot of people who are trying to avoid that episode because they want to watch it in order and people on tumblr and other places on the internet are making that hard for them. That’s not fair to them because a company decided to air something out of order when they didn’t have to. So that’s why I have a problem with Gloob, because I care about other people being able to enjoy the show. Gloob was the main concern at the time, now they’ve pulled the episode. That’s great! Now maybe Germany will end up doing so, too, once people ask them not to air it. But that doesn’t take away from the fact Gloob already released episode 11 of the series, nor does it mean that Gloob won’t do this again in the future. I hope you realize that people are free to have opinions that differ from yours and be unhappy with a company when they do something wrong. And as you said, a lot of people are upset with Gloob, and for good reason! It’s our right to be, because it’s greatly affecting our experience in watching a show that we love, because a lot of people don’t have a choice in finding out what happens in a new episode when it releases. Also, saying “Sorry for sounding rude” but then end up being rude anyway, that just makes your apology worthless. It gives you the idea that you can be rude to others just because you don’t like what they say as long as you say “sorry” with it, and that’s awful and very disrespectful.

We will find out that Wishmaker will show Adrien's wish which is to confess his identity/love to LB which results in Luka/Viperion finding out and keep using Second Chance/self sacrifice himself. If it was Marinette's case, Luka (whether or not he knows her secret identity) will find out her wish is to confess her identity/love to Adrien and he would use Second Chance/sacrifice to prevent that. He'll also find out that part of Mari's wish is she might not want to have a future with him and consider him as a second option. Realizing both of their identities as LB/CN and how dangerous their wishes are, Luka will do everything in his power to prevent that from happening.

Once the day is saved, Luka will pretty much tell Mari its best not to continue and stay friends. He'll either be sad that Mari don't like him that way anymore or scared of Mari finding out that he knows both of their identities.

Oh and the morality of the episode for Marinette is it's okay if you don't know what to do if life. It's best to not know and just live with it.

Season 4, Episode 4 - Mr Pigeon 72

I have no idea where to start. This episode has some good things and some extremely stupid.

Marinette isn't still completely fine, but I prefer when she deals with it through being hyperactive than being a whining crybaby.

I know people don't agree with me, but personally I don't buy the whole revealing identity to Alya. It's not a problem with Alya herself, I would say the same about every single character who is not named Alix Kubdel at this point of the story. I haven't written anything in my post about Gang of Secrets, because I thought it would be undone in some way at the start of the next episode. The creators did nothing to explain why revealing identity of Ladybug to anyone was super dangerous and would result in a catastrophe in seasons 1-3 and the first two episodes of S4, but it's magically fine in episode 3. Only Alix made sense to me, as she will be the rabbit Miraculous holder, so she is destined to discover identities of everyone sooner or later and Marinette is aware of that. While it's not necessary to learn identity of anyone to other temporary Miraculous wielders, including Alya. Also that reveal hasn't been foreshadowed in season 3, while the show usually does it, especially if it's about something as important as that! More, in late S3, it's been shown that Alya still can't resist to not talking about Marinette's love life with Nino, despite she asked her to not do it. Now the girl, who is overly excited about superhero stuff, has no problems with even accidental revealing anything to Nino or someone else. She's even "stealing" Bunnix line that she's great at keeping secrets (sorry but you, the creators, haven't shown us that she's indeed is before!). This is why I think that reveal hasn't been planned before they started writing season 4.

But okay, I can deal with it, even if I don't buy it, but things these happened in Mr. Pigeon 72 are even more inconsistent with previous seasons. I have been worried about it, so it doesn't surprised me. For some reason Guardian related-things that have been kept in a secret before from everyone minus current Guardian and the future Guardian, are now fine being done in front of Kwamis (remember, they haven't been allowed to learn about making potions before!) and a civilian who is just a temporal Miraculous holder, not someone who is supposed to be trained to be a new Guardian. You can say - new Guardian, new rules, but why? Marinette has been portrayed as someone who respect authorities, she has never questioned any Fu's rules. It wasn't even said in the episode that she's going to change the rules. I hate that the writers don't even bother to explain us what's going on. Probably they don't bother about consistency, they think the audience is going to be too excited about Alya knowing Ladybug's identity and helping Marinette to question anything about it? How Alya could be allowed to learn the Guardian secrets? She is just best friend of the protagonist, she is not one of the main characters to get that special treatment. I makes zero sense to me. Especially since Su-Han will be introduced in episode 6 and he should help Marinette with understanding the Grimoire, Alya isn't necessary here for any other reason than fanservice.

In my opinion the way how they discovering how to make charms that protects from akumasitation was the most stupid thing that happened this season and one of the most in the whole show. Marinette who is the new Guardiand and portrayed as someone extreme intelligent and creative couldn't find the solution for days, but Alya with zero training magically discovered it in a few hours at worst. And when she told her the solution in not even very clear way, Ladybug did it immediately with no effort. That was so anticlimactic. At least the animation was fine, but other aspects of it was just a big disappointment, and I was looking forward for it. Thank goodness it's just the beginning of the season, I hope later important events of the season will be better written and portrayed.

Also I find it absurd that Rena Rough is walking with a page from the Grimoire like it's just an ordinary book and she's talking about it in front of a random civilian, like things that are written there are nothing special. She or Ladybug are not careful about Miraculous lore anymore. Not to mention that they are giving hints that Rena is very close to Ladybug in public, suspiciously close. And now with them being too careless, that's not hard to suspect that Rena Rouge is someone very close to Ladybug, maybe even as a civilian. Shadow Moth knows Rena Rouge's identity, and it's easy to him to learn who is Alya Cesaire's best friend if he doesn't know it yet, after all his son is in the class with her. Marinette has always been super careful and serious about her duties before, why that sudden change with zero explanation? It's just very out of character to her in my opinion.

I didn't like the akuma battle either, it's now the worst fight of the season in my opinion. It was so short and felt very lazy. I only liked that Plagg got some action and interaction with Ladybug (though it should be suspicious for her that he managed to reach to her that fast). He should be aware now that Alya knows Ladybug's identity but he acts like nothing happened. Not a word about it being unfair towards his kid or something, weird.

Thankfully the rest of the episode is generally more or less fun to me. It was nice to see Marinette and Kagami interacting again. I loved Kagami in the episode, although it was a bit weird to me that she isn't seemed to be affected by her breaking up with Adrien. Like her crush was very shallow, so she managed to recover herself from it very quickly. While it's been shown that Luka is hurt, despite Lukanette always seemed to be much more shallow than Adrigami in my opinion. But maybe it's because she's so down to earth, so being less emotional makes sense for her character. I liked how her attitude was opposite to Marinette's hyperactive: "No, I don't want to be in a relationship with Adrien again, he disappointed me, just let me live!!!". And she's another character who said that Marinette and Adrien are made for each other. I'm not surprised that Kagami sees it now when she tried to be with him and that didn't work. She's observant, sees more than many other characters. It seems she's an Adrienette shipper now. It's also good that her issue with Adrien wasn't resolved that easily and too fast. They need more time, but I'm sure they will be friends again.

So, we've gotten shirtless Adrien. I remember seeing a tweet of Thomas in which he answered to a question if there will be a beach episode and he said we will get something similar. I wonder if he meant this episode. Oh, they just remembered that Adrien is supposed to be allergic to feathers. It seems Adrien has allergic reactions only when it's somewhat related to the plot. When it's not, he's completely fine.

The reference to the famous Umbrella Scene™ out of nowhere in a random episode? It probably means something. I can see "reverse crush" supporters interpreting it as a proof to their theory, especially since this time Adrien did something clumsy and Marinette is laughing because of it (actually both of them). Or maybe because it's the first episode of season 4 with Marinette and Adrien interactions, they decided to be that much gracious for Adrienette fans, to compensate lack of it in the first three episodes. Oh wow, Marinette managed to propose spending more time together to Adrien without stuttering. Probably because she has done it spontaneously. Marinette is the most nervous when she's planning and thinking what could go wrong too much. This time she had no time to it, so it went more smoothly. It's like they building development of their relationship, but it didn't seem in Guiltrip (that's episode 11 chronologically) that something changed.

Seeing screenshot above, you can easily imagine how great friends they could be, being very comfortable around each other and laughing together, if not Marinette's anxiety. We need Adrienette development so much to get more moments like this.

Oh and I just realized that it's also one of the veeeeery few episodes with no real Ladynoir at all (the only other one I remember is Style Queen). So if there was no Adrienette it would be an episode without interactions of two main characters at all (although we almost got Ladrien). It could be another reason why this episode is that nice for Adrien and Marinette ship.

After seeing overly excited Marinette dancing in the rain, I can't believe she can manage completely give up on Adrien. It doesn't look like this at all.

Also we've seen three photos of Adrien wearing THAT scarf. It could not mean nothing different that foreshadowing that he's going to discover the truth about it somewhere this season. But I have no idea what Ladybug's mask with shining eyes could mean.

I don't know what to think about the episode. Despite absurd Guardian-related things, I still liked it much more than Gang of Secrets, but I have no idea if I generally enjoyed it more than other episodes of this season or not. At least it's an episode without stupid drama, which is amazing.

I'm currently less active on social media, because my internet connection is very unstable, it often works very slowly to the point I'm not patient enough to visit Tumblr. Also I block spoiler tags again, because I don't want to see spoilers from the episodes those are going to be released very soon, as I feel that they reveal too much to me once more. We're currently in a marathon of the new episodes and since watching them is the more more enjoyable, the less I know about them, I decided to try avoid spoilers as much as I can. The only bad thing is that I can't be read discussions about the new episodes, reblog them and adding something from me until Optigami will be aired.
