Hazbin Hotel episode 5 is a rushed mess.
May just make this a continual thing where I review the episodes from here on out.
-Right off the bat, the pacing for this episode is probably the worst out of all other episodes so far. Things just begin abruptly (Lucifer's first song with Al for instance), no build up, 5 months have passed in only 5 episodes of barely any progress or focus on Charlie as a character, a random character that didn't need to be introduced but was anyway ruined the flow further, and this stupid ass rivalry all on the basis of who's the "better dad" is legit the most random conflict of any conflict so far. That will get a point all on its own along with some of the other things mentioned. The pacing left no real breathing room aside from 2 moments: Al's rise to power and Husk n Al's convo. I wanna say the second song would be a 3rd but it just resolves an issue that was present for seemingly years and pulled a "Stolas" with having a song or sob story as an excuse for the lack of effort to reach out and be a better dad. Lazy writing and pacing overall.
-5 months....5 months have passed with barely anything revolving around helping sinners or trust built around the main cast SHOWN ON SCREEN. We are told important information opposed to witnessing the progress itself. This is not only lazy but extremely jarring cause it feels as though episodes were skipped and bonds feel unearned. They get easily resolved in what feels like seconds, and we're just supposed to....deal with it. Angel and Husk barely interact throughout this episode, which, after the crazy ride they had, with the knowledge of a SEVERAL MONTHS passing by as well, you'd think Angel would be shown to be more chatty with him....which he doesn't. Nothing crazy, just small bits of them interacting and enjoying each other's company. Nah. We get that next episode, and even THAT'S lacking. I'll tackle that in a separate post. But yeah, 5 months, and we have yet to see the other guests' views and how it has changed for the better or the process of them realizing WHY they would go for redemption. How that has affected them. Nothing of note has come about from any of these. No other sinners have joined. No other demons seem interested in Charlie's Hotel. Nothing. We are told things have been done, yet it feels like we are still at the starting line, or well, a foot away from it and miles away from the finish.
- Lucifer is a joke. I don't mind me a goofy threat, it adds a charm to them but also shows that they take so little seriously due to their immense power....not Lucifer. No, that guy just....is a joke. Dude is in his mansion making fucking toy ducks for some reason and just has depression (show said it outright, not even depression is spared from "tell don't show")
He does literally nothing, doesn't seem to WANT to do anything, and no one respects the guy. Nearly all in the Hotel lack fear, intimidation, or admiration for the guy (Pentious is the only one who seems to exhibit admiration of some kind). The closest we got is being uncomfortable. That's it. Then there's his scuffle with Alastor. Tell me why he feels the need to argue with this sucka again? Cause last I checked, Alastor is a mere overlord, and Lucifer is The Devil. Wtf is this randomass rivalry that just...S T A R T S? Why does Lucifer get intimidated or moved by Al? It makes no sense. Lucifer has been alive far longer than humanity itself, but nah this random fuck who looks like he robbed a blood bank got him weeping insecurities? I'm supposed to take this sad excuse of a character seriously? How many of these carbon copy characters will Viv make until I finally end my suffering???
-Wtf is Alastor's deal? Why is he so pressed and annoyed? One moment he is as cool and collected as a cucumber and showing only SLIGHT annoyance (Vox and His song), then he goes to meetings and speaks with people far older, far more experienced, and/or far stronger than he show no interest and he gets pissy? How insecure is he that people not caring where he's gone or thinking his ideas are wack is what leads to his eye twitching and him throwing a random ass cuss. Seriously, THAT'S what got him to swear? That his idea for the hotel's name is stupid? BFFR! You can not be serious right now, THAT'S what gets him going? You'd think with how witty and chill he was in the pilot, he would find a quick and a effective smart-ass comeback, not essentially bitch at The Devil. This makes Alastor look like a thin-skinned wannabe, too cause these minor ass comebacks are why he has lost his edge along with some randomass song number?? And at the end of the day, Al just couldn't be damned anymore to even care by the end of the episode, he doesn't speak with Lucifer or give any stank looks, doesn't speak with Charlie, does NOTHING pertaining to the issues prior, nah, he just stands there and watches after telling Mimzy to go away. Some say he did this to simply piss Lucifer off, but that doesn't make sense (not saying it ain't true, just saying if it is, it's nonsensical). First off, if that were the case, why was he annoyed even BEFORE seeing the guy?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If he only wanted to get a rise, why is HE getting angry? Trolls usually don't care enough to be this pissed. Second, wtf would he even gain from doing this? What to help push Lucifer to be a better father to Charlie, request by Lilith to Al so that Lucifer can get his act together?? If so, that's the LAZIEST shit I have ever heard. Lucifer is such a joke, he needed a SINNER to get him back on track....
Regardless, this whole father shit by Al comes out of nowhere and ruins the goddamn flow of the episode. Prior to it all, Al has shown NO interest in anyone and has done jack shit. Wtf does he even do? He's done ONE thing so far and that was help for the commercial. Alastor has shown to be completely useless as of now.
-Charlie, why is she treated as tho she isn't a grown ass woman? She's babied to hell and back and despite being the daughter of Lucifer, hasn't shown any of her abilities to help the hotel. So Lucifer can summon shit but not her? Is she that useless? Also, gotta love how she never asks her dad about the Valentino situation to help Angel out. Man...what a great ass friend. She also doesn't find it weird that Al is just suddenly...babying her? She has zero awareness of everything, I guess, which is getting annoying now. You're over 200 years of age (went to high school in the 1800s according to what her comic was about, but guess that's retconned based on what happens in the following episode).
So she doesn't use her abilities to tidy up the place, she doesn't act her damn age, she doesn't do anything to help her sexually assaulted friend. What a damn joke, just like her dad.
-Mimzy shouldn't have been in an episode about Lucifer. Plain and simple. Her character should have been introduced in one of the earlier episodes. Not during fucking this. And we got a repeat of the pilot with Alastor's backstory retold. So they're down to retell his rise to power but not to make at least a proper recap of the events that happened prior? Key word....PROPER.
-Husk caring about Mimzy bringing trouble is actually fucking stupid. Because of the lack of proper build up to him now finding more reason to like the Hotel, it feels forced that he would be worried about what danger Mimzy brought. And on top of that, yeah...ALASTOR IS RIGHT THERE. You know who else is there? LUCIFER. I get it, Lucifer stood by and watched as the Hotel was being swatted, but he also sang a song about providing what Charlie asked for, meaning if she had asked her dad, he woukd be down to help, so WHY TF IS HE WORRIED???? Also , is Charlie just INCAPABLE of fighting for herself?? "She doesn'twanna hurt sinners-" so she had no defensive abilities??? What???? Also, that's a damn lie, she fought Katie Killjoy on live Tv. Are no other damn people capable of protecting the Hotel??? Why did Al need to step in for that? They were just LOAN SHARKS.
Anyway, the scene where Husk is probing Alastor about Mimzy and treating him as a pet is decently paced and the tone was pretty neat, sucks that this feels like their way of showing that Husk is also under a leash like Angel rather than him being treated as a joke, which btw...horrid way to compare the two. Wanna know why? One is subjected to an onslaught of sexual assault whether he was pushing Val's buttons or not, and forced to be assaulted by various men around him, passed around like a thing. The other is Husk, who legit disrespected Alastor and had to push at him to get such humiliation and terror, and guess what....Al still ended up pushing Mimzy away after she did end up bringing trouble, so he did essentially listen to Husk in his own distant way. This is the ONLY TIME we see Al be downright mean to Husk and probably the only time. Angel has been subjected to nothing but horrid assault after assault no matter the situation. So I better not see anyone say, "SEE LOOK, THEY'RE BOTH ABUSED" stfu. Nothing about their situations are even remotely similar. Just cause the chains are the same doesn't mean the users are. EDIT: Ima say this before people act like I excuse this. No, I am not excusing Alastor's actions. I am pointing out what happened on screen. Husk mocked Alastor, Alastor retaliated out of anger(much like how Angel retaliated at Husk in ep 4 after Husk kept arguing and mocking him) by pulling out the chains to shut him up. He didn't even hit Husk. Again, I'm not excusing it, just pointing out how vastly different Husk and Angel's situations are and how one overlord reacts compared to the other....who is a straight-up rapist.
-Both the songs are mid/ok but pulled down by the awful storytelling....shame. I at first was not fond of Lucifer's voice.....it's ok now, I guess. Idk. I'm still not really feeling it, though.
Episode sucked ass
Pacing was all over the place
ALASTOR AND LUCIFER ARE PISS BABIES

Pls advise: when you take a break from writing, how do you usually know when to get back to it? I'm worried if I take too long I won't be able to get back in my groove.
Everybody's downtime needs are going to vary, in my experience... so anything I could tell you about how I handle mine probably wouldn't be terribly useful. (And might wind up setting expectations for you that wouldn't be appropriate.)
What I do notice as a sign that downtime's over, though, is a kind of internal itch that starts increasingly bothering me when I'm in a situation that's allowed me the leisure to stop work for a while. (As opposed to when I'm on deadline, or otherwise working on something time-sensitive that means I have to be working pretty much constantly whether I like it or not.)
When I'm still in "resting up" mode, I'll be handling other daily work around here without any real sense of needing to be doing other things. But then comes this itch, this vague ache or sense that there's... just something else I should be doing. And I know damn well what that "something else" is. It's the something else I've been doing with either my work time or most of my spare time since I was eight.
This sense of Knowing What The Something Else Is is quickly confirmed if I try to put it off for long... because it gets way worse, very fast. If events conspire to keep me very long from sitting down to write (or walking around to dictate, I do that too), the feeling relatively quickly escalates into active unease.
Usually, though, it doesn't have a chance to do that. Usually something will rise up (as it were) from the depths of consciousness and put a torpedo into me just under the waterline: a situation, a chunk of dialogue indicating something that a character needs to get to grips with, or similar. And naturally I immediately go write down or make a voice note of that whatever-it-was—because 40-plus years of doing this as a job have taught me that if you don't do that immediately, you're doomed. (Never believe that you'll remember that really hot idea that just hit you. Especially at night. Oh god the horror stories I could tell you. MAKE THE NOTE RIGHT THEN.)
And then of course by the time I've finished writing that thing down, I've started writing again... even if it's just a little thing, a scrap. That's the plain-text signal for me to get back to a more frequent writing schedule. And when my writing brain has put a pin into me that way, I don't attempt to play around or get cute with the hint. I get on with it.
So what you might want to do is start listening to yourself and learning what your own interior start-writing-again signals sound like... and then obeying them. You may have a few false starts or hiccups along the line, but you'll get the hang of it once you start listening to yourself and acting on what your writer's brain is trying to tell you in the background. Your groove will stay in place while you get back into it, as long as you've started teaching it that you've got it in mind.

(@forestshadow-wolf !!! GENDA!!!) I have thoughts abt genderfluid soap okay!! I can't help it!!!
While Soap knows he identifies as genderfluid, when it comes to how he expresses that outwardly depends on vibes alone
For a long while he never really knew the term for it, so it was something he kept to himself. All he really knew was sometimes he was a she in his head, or a they, or whatever else he felt like in the moment.
Soap's ""coming out"" experience with Ghost was kind of clunky (to no one's fault but his own). He forgets that not everyone can see inside his head sometimes, and while he's rambling on about spending time with his sister and says something along the lines of " 'course, we went dress shopping together while i was over, just a little something we gals like to bond over. She's adamant that green is mah colour but ah know tha' really I look killer in blue." Ghost picks up on it of course, and goes quiet for a long while trying to figure out how to bring it up and ask Soap without making it seem like he's opposed to it or upset. Eventually he figures out a way, and after a slightly awkward conversation Soap feels a lot less nervous to express his gender in other ways around Ghost.
When they started dating, Soap explicitly expressed that he wanted Ghost to refer to him like "He's my girlfriend" and "She's my boyfriend." (He specially likes to be called Ghost's girlfriend, it makes him EXTREMELY happy. He never specifically says he likes it more than the other, bur Ghost picks up on it no problem)
Being on leave gives Soap PLENTY opportunities to switch up how he outwardly expresses gender. His wardrobe at home is stock full of skirts, dresses, and all types of alt clothes. He likes to wear long skirts the most, the flowyness of them make him feel gorgeous.
He enjoys all pronouns, but again it normally goes off of vibes. On base he sticks to he/him because its most comfortable, but has asked his small found family of the 141 to switch it up when they feel like it.
Feminine compliments can and will make him blush FURIOUSLY. he loves them the most because he's typically heard them the least throughout his life. (Ghost calls him pretty once and Soap is a MESS. Ghost then makes it his mission to find out what compliments make him the most embarassed/happy. The trend is not hard to notice)
Ghost is probably one of his biggest supporters once he finds out, mainly because he just loves seeing Soap feel good abt himself! If his girlfriend feels good then he feels good in turn
Soap will jokingly say things like "Oh nooo! I'm just a petite woman who will get blown away by the wind !!! What ever will i do" bc he thinks it's funny to say he's small when he is. Very buff.
He cried happy tears when he received an extremely thoughtful gift from Ghost that was a custom made sapphire necklace that had a note that said "blue definitely is your colour" to match a dress he had gotten with his sister. He denies that he cried but he did. We all know.
Steadily becomes way more comfortable and visibly happy with himself once he's out to the 141 and they start supporting him in any way they can
Gaz refers to him as "the people's princess" of the team. He hates it (he doesn't)
DISCLAIMER: Though I used "he/him" to refer to Soap throughout this post I did it so it was easier to tell what/who I was talking about as switching up pronouns when typed can make it a bit hard to follow. I believe Soap would like to use ALL pronouns and lean heavily towards She and He (that's me projecting bc I feel only connected to both parts of the traditional binary so that's where I'm most comfortable.)

[ Sorry for the prolonged absence! Life got complicated for both of the admins and for the time being you'll need to deal with me! ]
ANYWAY, Goro Akechi Time
Tumblr media
So, as is considered nearly common knowledge by now, data present in P5 and P5R points to the existence of a scrapped Akechi Palace for our ✨lovely pancake boy✨, but how much is known about it *really?* Here's a data breakdown of the scraps left over!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Every field in Persona 5 has a Major and Minor Field ID, and the game is programmed to assume Major ID's between 150 and 200 are Palaces. The final game uses IDs 150 to 162 for each Palace like so:
f150 - Prologue [ Casino Duplicate ]
f151 - Castle Pt.1
f152 - Castle Pt.2
f153 - Museum
f154 - Bank
f155 - Pyramid
f156 - Moon Base
f157 - Casino
f159 - Cruiseship
f160 - Holy Grail Path
f161 - Mementos Depths
f162 - Labratory
As you can see, there are missing Fields between 157 and 159, but how can we prove this is Akechi? We look at the dialogue for negotiating with Shadows!
Tumblr media
When knocked down, Shadows occasionally mention whatever Palace Ruler is currently active. This data is stored in BATTLE\TALK in various .BF ( Binary Flowscript ) files that are run based on the enemy type.
Tumblr media
Inside the BMD ( Binary Message Data ) chunk of these files, there's some unused dialogue:
Flee while you still can! Ahahaha! It is futile to oppose Lord Akechi! You would do well to tread carefully. Lord Akechi is a man possessed of immense desire. Hmph… I wonder if your power would even pose a threat to Lord Akechi… I give up… *sob* Lord Akechiii…
There are 27 lines in total from Shadows referencing "Lord Akechi", all of them localized! Normally, this is where most investigation ends. There was a planned Akechi Palace between Sae and Shido, but all data was scrapped and any attempts to load into the Palace by force fail due to an intense scrub of all related data.
Tumblr media
( Generally this is a sign things are not going well )
This, however is not the end of things just yet—Atlus was not entirely diligent in the data wipe. One of the things left behind is a single .ENV ( Environment ) file. These files—among many other things—specify properties like texture color, color grading, light effects and so on for every field.
Tumblr media
ENV\ENV0158_001_000.ENV is found in this folder, corresponding to the missing 158 Palace ID. However, since there's no meshes left over, we can only see ENV 158's effects by placing it on another field. Here is the front hall of the Bank Palace as seen in-game normally:
Tumblr media
Here is what Akechi's Palace would have looked like, at least the ambiance, had development continued:
Tumblr media
( I'm sure someone can make some kind of argument about how this represents Akechi thematically, lord knows I can. )
One other aspect still remaining is found in FIELD\FTD\FLDDNGPACK.FTD, a list that specifies what encounters can be found in any Palace, along with loot in Chests and Search Objects. Akechi's DNGPACK List is not entirely empty!
Tumblr media
We can see by parsing this file that Akechi's Palace would have had around 21 different Fields, about the standard for every Palace in P5R, though this excludes Safe Rooms. While the Encounter Entries sadly lead only to default Kamoshida Castle battles, his list references a unique Random Loot Table 7! At the time of writing, it appears no other part of the game references Random Loot Table 7. While it lacks unique items found in other Palaces, the data is indicative of what could've been found inside Akechi's Palace Search Objects.
Tumblr media
Jades and Garnets are placed at surprisingly high priority, along with the Marble Chessboard. Of note are the items such as the Marble Chessboard and Brass Pocket Watch, those specific Item IDs cannot be found in any other location in the ENTIRE Random Loot Table .FTD file.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Until more info about how Palaces function is uncovered, it seems like our Detective Prince will continue to elude us in his heavily fog-covered ways, this subject clearly needs more research to find any more remnants!
That’s all for now, see you soon!

Student Mentor
Dottore × GN! Reader
Tumblr media
For the benefit of new students, the academia often paired them up with a senior for at their first month at the academia - though many often became collaborators and ended up hanging around together for longer than that.
You were roaming the halls, an information sheet of your buddy in hand, searching for your senior. Most of them had been thoughtful enough to line the halls, keeping an eye out for their assigned juniors as well, but yours was nowhere to be found. Some other students had been kind enough to approach you, noticing how lost you seemed.
“Would you mind if I took a look at that information sheet? I might know- oh…him. Yes, follow me, you poor thing, just know that you can look for me if you need help ok?”
You weren't sure what they had meant then, with the way their face scrunched up in disgust at the sight of your student mentor. But that made itself clear when you met him. The kind senior knocked on a door before peering in only to be shoved out by gloved hands. A face followed soon after, startling red eyes glaring at you both for intruding.
"Geez, I'm just here to drop off your junior."
"Oh, right, I'd forgotten I had to do that."
He waved his hand to shoo the other senior off before ushering you inside. With that, silence fell over you as you found a seat and he returned to whatever contraption he was tinkering with.
You were hesitant to approach him, still chilled by how coldly his greeting was - if it could even be considered a greeting. So you decided to work on your own theories, scribbling away in your notebook, attempting to calculate though much of it was out of your depth. You had gotten so engrossed in your own thoughts, so lost in numbers that you couldn't quite grasp at, that you hadn't noticed him standing in front of you, leaning over your work and scrunching his face in disappointment.
"So this is the idiocy I have to work with...no matter, I can handle this much."
You jumped with a start, looking up at him. You were even more confused when he pulled up a chair beside you and began pointing out the mistakes in your work. But you weren't one to turn down free help, so you nodded along, taking note of every piece of advice and criticism he had. As much of an ass as he was, you had to admit that he knew his stuff.
Yet a small part of you questioned why he seemed to care. He had called you an idiot, after all. You had yet to realise he he didn't really think you were completely hopeless, or he wouldn't have bothered teaching you.
You later found that buddying up with a junior gave him more leeway with the academia's regulations. That and he was hoping to get a loyal assistant out of it. Not that you were opposed to the thought; his research was the sort you wouldn't find anywhere else and couldn't possibly come up with on your own. If you were being honest, you felt like you learnt more from him than you did from any of the professors or scholars.
~
"Mm, accurate enough," he commented, returning your papers to you. You couldn't help the small smile that made its way onto your face, knowing how nitpicky he could be. It would seem your little joy caught his eye, as he ruffled your hair. "Sometimes I think you're a little too easy to please."
Blinking slowly, you asked him, "Is that a bad thing?"
"Not at all, it works out quite well for me, since you're a valuable asset for me to keep around."
Valuable. Dottore, who was oh so difficult to get along with, thought you were valuable. This time, you truly couldn't bottle it in, beaming at him as you caught him in a hug. You heard a small "Hey" in protest, but he made no move to push you off, only poking at your head in annoyance.
Deciding to push your luck, you buried your face further in his chest, stifling your laughter. By this point, he figured it'd be easier to play along until you had your fill, so he pat your back for a good twenty seconds before telling you enough was enough.
"Get off now, you've gotten your hug."

Den Thelyss Canon
c2e57: You can see people of the drow populace sitting and reading and paying strange attention to you. Once again, it's hard not to draw attention when you guys pass by with one of the members of Den Thelyss.
Essek, c2e62: Most of my den live within the Lucid Bastion.
Essek, c2e57: The den was very kind to accept me for one as comparably young as myself. I'm only part way into my second century, so. Caleb: A great honor. Essek: It is. Anyway.
Essek, c2e62: There's three primary dens, and a dozen dens all together. Fjord: Biylan's not one of the main three, though? Essek: No. Thelyss is one.
Essek, c2e91: My mother's name is Deirta Thelyss, she is the Umavi of my den. Jester: Which den, Thelyss den? Essek: Den Thelyss, yes. One of the multitude of dens.. shall we sit?
EGtW: The three ruling Dens—Den Kryn, Den Thelyss, and Den Mirimm—are each helmed by an Umavi.
Essek, c2e91: Den Thelyss, they would like very much to see.. our nation.. established and respected? In the broader sense of the world.
Wrap-up: The only real bond Essek had before any of you was with him, growing up. Verin was the brother that kinda got him and they got along okay, in a family that Essek did not get along with at all, and was surrounded by people he didn't get along with.
Wrap-up: He'd been a solitary figure his whole life except for his relationship with his brother. He didn't get along with his parents. He didn't get along with most people in the Dynasty unless they helped him maintain and advance his position of power and influence, and so.. you guys fucked him up!
Wrap-up: As opposed to his brother, who's very much eschewed the Dynasty culture, and his parents were very deeply steeped in the culture. Verin rides the line where, he understands, why his brother is the way he is, but he also believes a lot in the Dynasty, and the faith that the Luxon and the whole idea gives.
Essek, c2e91: There is an expectation of advancement within the faith to be consecuted. I was lucky enough and privileged enough to be born within a den to where it was not questioned.
Essek, c2e91: You are guided by an Umavi through a soul binding process. It is extensive, it entails a bunch of spoken rites. It is usually observed by many individuals of various dens, especially if you belong to one. And often when you are consecuted, you are given a path to a den. The families are expansive.
EGtW: Each Den traditionally oversees a portion of local industry, but more distinguished Dens also vie for control over aspects of spiritual or military leadership.
Fjord, c2e57: What do we call you, just Shadowhand? Or is there another name you prefer? Essek: Shadowhand Essek Thelyss. Of Den Thelyss. Jester: Den Thelyss is, like, the most popular one. Nott: Sure, we know it well. That's one of the top three, is that right? Essek: It is indeed.
Leylas, c2e57: Your deed here is noted and what quarrel you have with Lythir here is seen as absolved in the eyes of us three dens.
Waccoh, c2e62: There'd be a period of time in approving of his presence to ensure that there isn't any sort of Empire interests or muck behind the history there. After which we'd have to go and get approvals from Den Thelyss.
Caleb, c2e91: And you are, forgive me, on your first life? Essek: Yes, I'm nearly the youngest of my den.
EGtW: Essek is both respected and feared for his intelligence and cunning, and he carefully plots each step he takes to further his and his Den's climb up the hierarchy of the dynasty.
EGtW: Verin Thelyss is the younger brother of Essek and the youngest soul of Den Thelyss. Recently given command of Kryn forces in Bazzoxan, Verin hopes to bring about a victory for the dynasty that will grant him respect and acceptance from his accomplished family.
Abrianna, c2e57: When one has proven their faith through word and deed, they are claimed by one of the ruling dens and taken to be soul bound to the Luxon through the consecution.
EGtW: Not all ruling Dens like the idea of introducing what they consider lesser creatures into the consecution, leading to tensions between the people of Rosohna and the scattered villages in the Xhorhasian wilds.
Beau, c2e91: What's the worst thing you've ever done? Essek: (laughs, sighs) I would say... anger my father to the point where... he went, unprepared, into the depths of Bazzoxan and didn't return.
EGtW: The ruling class of the dynasty is seated in Rosohna, spread across twelve noble Dens—all of whom seek to one day rule the dynasty. They play an intricate political game by expanding their families of timeless souls and covertly undermining the authority of other Dens.
EGtW: Den Masters keep a careful eye out for weakness among other Dens, seeking ways to sully the reputations of their rivals while displaying their own worthiness to the Bright Queen. Such social sabotage is reminiscent of the old ways of the drow, but assassinations and acts of outright violence are rare.
EGtW: The oldest Dens, especially those helmed by an Umavi, are held in the highest esteem, and generally answer directly to the Bright Queen. The older the soul, the more prestige it holds in the dynasty.
EGtW: Within the Lucid Bastion's halls, the Bright Queen, her trusted Umavi, and their Dens work to govern and protect all citizens of the Kryn Dynasty.
EGtW: Beneath the Dens of Rosohna, guilds and Den representatives govern the other cities of the dynasty that stretch across Xhorhas, spreading the faith of the Luxon and watching over all Xhorhasians who seek the safety of civilization.

Please a Corey x peepaw x reader OMGGGGG 🥴
The Corey we have here is the Corey we see from middle to end of the film, so he's much more bold and outspoken than he is in the beginning of the film. I'm assuming that's what you had in mind, anon!
Thank you so much for the request! I may do a part 2 down the line as I feel like there's SO much more I could add to this.
Just a note that Corey and Michael are not written as romantically involved with each other in this - just you.
Tumblr media
General Corey Cunningham x Reader x Michael Myers headcanons
Being the shared interest of these two is... interesting, to say the least. It doesn't matter if you're spending time with the both of them at once, or if you're alone with one of them - there's rarely a dull moment, though many times, not in the good way.
While Corey and Michael get along in some ways, they don't get along in every way, and when it comes to you it's a mixture of both. While they both want you and they both have you, this mutual, extreme obsession with you leads to occasional clashes as they both tend to feel that the other party's obsession with and feelings for you is getting in the way of their own. Que the (sometimes literal) tug of wars with you between the two of them. Though neither of them would ever hurt you, there are occasions where you're quite literally being pulled away from one of them and into the chest of the other because they refuse to share.
There are many, many moments where it seems like the relationship isn't going to work because of this, yet it always manages to come through in the end. Both men value their feelings for you and your contentedness over any issue they may have with each other.
Despite their frequent scuffles, it's safe to say you have near constant protection. While Corey doesn't have the practically undying, almost superhuman-like qualities that Michael does, he is damn protective, and he can actually be with you pretty much everywhere Michael cannot be. There have been times he's even informed Michael of some breach of your safety, and the two of them teamed up to take care of whatever the issue was.
Both are possessive and protective, but both in their own ways. Michael's approach is much more cold, much more calculating: if he sees someone mess with you, harass you, not take no for an answer, etc, he'll typically stalk that person for sometime before he moves in for the kill (and he is brutal about it. The killing itself is actually very rash and bloody, as opposed to his approach).
Corey, on the other hand, unless for some reason he can't or shouldn't, has no problem going right up to whoever it was at that moment and either verbally ripping them a new one - or getting physical about it. He's not afraid of doing either, even if he often gets his ass kicked with the latter, and if it's bad enough he will not hesitate to don his scarecrow mask and make sure they cannot bother you again.
You're pretty much nearly untouchable when you're with the both of them romantically. If somehow, someone manages to do something to you, it's an absolutely bloody mess how the two of them work together, much like how we saw in the movie. Hell, sometimes it's almost like a game they play: Corey manages to lure whoever it is into an alley, or below the bridge near the sewer, or somewhere secluded, straight to wherever Michael is, and the two of them quickly work together to subdue their prey. The body is pretty much unidentifiable by the time they're done.
On a fluffier note, if both men are agreeable with each other enough that you can have a calm, quiet, cuddle session with the both of them at the same time, it is insane how safe and warm you feel. Initially it was a bit awkward finding a position that worked, but the three of you eventually found one: laying down, with Michael (if he's in the mood for cuddling, that is) behind you as the big spoon, with you sandwiched in between him and Corey, with Corey's head resting on your chest, his arms tightly wrapped around your midsection. Corey will nuzzle and press kisses to your chest, shoulders, chin, while the steady rise and fall of Michael's chest relaxes you.
The three of you love to binge watch old-school horror and monster films together. If you're the type to get scared, fret not because you have two of the best guards you could ask for. Michael may not be as cuddly as many, but you know he'll never let anything touch you, meanwhile Corey has no problem pulling you close to him and holding you in his lap if you're feeling scared, or anxious. Corey tends to be the more physically affectionate out of the two of them, and on days where you see little to nothing of Michael, Corey's by your side pretty much all day to shower you in all the affection and love you want.
While it might not always pan out nicely or neatly, it's needless to say that both of these men are completely and utterly obsessed with you.

although I'm 100% on board the unlabeled Simon Snow train, I've been feeling compelled to make the case for why aspec/demisexual Simon resonates:
-Dating a girl was, besides following traditional roles, his attempt at “normalcy.” He didn’t have any romantic or sexual feelings for her, nor was he invested in the relationship in that way.
-He occasionally notes girls being "cute" and "beautiful" and guys being "fit" but this information doesn't really do anything for him. Being able to note "eye-candy" without experiencing attraction is a common aspec experience
-His reaction to boobs doesn't really go beyond a passing "very nice, not mad about seeing them", and this is brought up in the same line of thought as "I don't know if I was ever attracted to women", which is a way of questioning that kinda leans on a negative answer. See previous point.
-Baz remembers surviving sharing a room with Simon with “furious wanking” (just your typical angsty teenage vampire), having wanted to “kiss one of Simon’s moles since he was 12,” and wanting him “since he knew how to want” (“erotic gropfest” fantasies). While he only has eyes for Simon (a true romantic) it also seems like experiencing attraction and hitting puberty came hand in hand for good ol’ Baz. Though Simon is just as drawn to him (he thinks about him all the time, he’s always looking at him, smelling him; sharing a room with him was just like “sharing it with a siren”) getting there apparently went hand in hand with developing feelings that could be considered as "creating a bond," even though there was distance between them (he's not home until he's smelling Baz in their shared room -> Baz is home).
-It can be argued that 5th year was the year Simon started experiencing attraction. This is when he remembers wanting to jump Baz (though he didn’t understand why then), following him everywhere (by his own admission, he didn’t need to do this to prove Baz’s a vampire, he already knew), pointing him with his sword (ha) etc. By the time he kisses Baz, he already has a list of things he wants to do to him, including kissing him on the lips! Meaning he became attracted to someone he knows (he has observed his soul), someone who’s always on his mind, someone he wants to know everything about because he yearns to be close to him, closer than anyone else.
-It took him until he became more comfortable with being attracted to Baz and being sure he absolutely wanted to have sex with him to begin to understand how attraction actually feels. Before that, he assumed thinking someone is pretty probably meant he was attracted, which he later figures out isn't the case for him (when realizing in hindsight his lack of attraction to Agatha).
-He talks about sex in his straight relationship as a pain, or a chore he wasn’t into at best, and remembering it puts him in distress that leads to self-harm at worst (kicking walls, pulling hair, etc.) (As a fellow curly-haired person let me tell y'all: that’s no small amount of pain lol)
-In his own words, Baz is the only person he has ever wanted. Period. He's the only person he's 100% sure he's attracted to. "Nothing compares" to him.
-"Am I gay, or am I some kind of Baz-sexual. Is that a thing". It is, but we don't call it like that lol
-Simon thinking he might be gay has everything to with his attraction to Baz, and only Baz. Him noting other men being fit is in passing with no effect on him (again, refer to point 2) or to mark them as a threat/competition (Lamb).
-Simon's main point for rejecting bisexuality is him understanding his relationship with Agatha was completely void of sexual attraction and romance. He had first hand experience here trying to do what people do when they feel attraction, but he wasn't feeling it. The first time he talks about this relationship in CO, he says he was always going along with what he thought she wanted (as opposed to doing shit because he wanted it) and was always "getting it wrong".
-With strangers though? Is he attracted? Hell if he knows! I’d say he isn’t. Relevant here is Simon assuming that being able to tell when people are pretty means attraction ("assuming" as in not even thinking about it because "that's just how it is") and how he later starts figuring out that’s not the case with him.
-Simon feels like an idiot because Baz didn’t need to date or try anything to know he’s gay, while Simon has no idea of what can fit him, he only knows that he wants Baz (while also having a knee-jerk reaction to deny when someone wants to confirm him as either gay or bi, although we see he's not completely closed off to gay). Some of it it’s Simon’s anxieties and fears, but also relevant here is that this sort of confusion, and figuring out yourself later in life isn’t uncommon for acespec folks
-In other words: his attraction to Baz seems to increase or rather, to be more understandable, the closer they get (“he can’t get enough of him” he says when they start being intimate. He gets “so turned on he can’t think” when he finally has him naked).
-There's plenty supporting Simon's attraction to Baz: he wakes up aroused by his smell, he gets all hot and bothered just by Baz looking at him a certain way, he think it's "dead sexy" when Baz takes off his shirt and reveals his wand holder, Baz fighting has him jumping him in public because is just "so hot, he's so hot". No one else had this effect on him, not even close, even when he notices them "being fit"
-When Simon is dry-humping Baz (you read that right) in the Watford library, he laments not having been Baz's friend instead of enemies during their time at school, and not having kissed him in every possible corner (they had a private room together!!) in the same breath. Acting on his attraction to Baz and wanting to have an emotional bond with him even earlier than when it happened are tied together here.
This is not to say Simon needs to pick up a label, it's perfectly fine if he never feels the need to identify as anything. Labels are personal, and can be helpful in understanding ourselves, but not always. I'm only bringing this up here because it feels helpful in understanding Simon better (saying he's extremely oblivious and calling it a day feels like a disservice, there's a lot more going on with him!) even if he remains unlabeled. If you vibe with this feel free to add to this post

I'm finally making one document for all my fic outtakes (as opposed to tacked on at the end of every draft/outline lol) and I came across one from Resentful Surrender that's a little too niche to repurpose, so here it is, editing notes an all.
Just a little scene of Otohan testing the physical limitations of the bond in a surprisingly G-rated manner.
~
Trove of Marwa—Lantern
Otohan respects Imogen's request, for the most part. They still need information, after all. Bells Hells had caused significant damage on the day of the Solstice, and the Vanguard could not afford another mishap. To that end, Otohan keeps the tether connecting the two of them in the forefront of their mind, waiting for any scrap of { useful information. }
Thankfully, their close observation pays off when a flicker of warmth sparks in their mind—the lingering sting that indicates Imogen is thinking of Otohan. As Otohan follows the sensation, they get a deeper sense of the emotions behind the fleeting thought: frustration and { the barest hint of something too subtle and bitter to be yearning. } Otohan presses against the edges of Imogen's mind, skimming for what specifically had sparked her recollection.
The earth genasi had asked, "What do we need? Where are we even going?" and Imogen had glanced out a dirty, circular window, eyes drawn to the distant beam tethering Ruidus to Exandria, bright in the sky even in the late morning light. She had thought of the excavation site with evident trepidation and, by extension, Otohan themself—both the possibility of them being there and the reminder of last night.
'Yes, where are you going?' Otohan asks abruptly, amused when a flash of surprise indicates they startled Imogen.
'I'll let you know when I find out,' Imogen quips.
It is significantly easier this time, to slowly creep across the tether and materialize into Imogen's surroundings. Imogen doesn't fight it as much this time, perhaps knowing it's { useless. }
"Is this a ship?" Otohan asks aloud, smirking slightly when Imogen's head swivels wildly, clearly checking to ensure no one else is aware of Otohan's presence.
'Get out,' Imogen snaps, though she doesn't face Otohan directly. Instead, she is suddenly very interested in a stack of haphazardly placed crates that seem to function as both storage space and display shelves.
{ "You'll forgive me for pursuing the one { thread of questioning } I do actually need from you." }
Otohan steps up beside Imogen, idly eyeing the eclectic assortment of odds and ends piled atop the crates. They quietly delight as Imogen stiffens even more, staring forward with a hard, focused gaze, still silently pushing against Otohan's presence, hard enough that it starts to hurt, though Otohan won't show it. They keep their expression carefully stoic as they follow Imogen's line of sight, studying a small, globe-like container, painted in gold tones and garishly bright colors.
Curious, Otohan concentrates, trying to shift the trinket with their mind. It remains firmly in place. They then lift their hand, fingers twitching faintly, yet still they accomplish nothing. Frowning, Otohan finally reaches out, frustrated when they can't even touch it, not really. There's a vague sensation of cool metal and flaking paint beneath their fingers, but Otohan cannot truly interact with the piece of junk in any way.
"Interesting," Otohan mutters as they lower their hand, fingertips dragging along the side of a crate—again, picking up only the faintest suggestion of texture.
They consider the previous night—the stone wall, weatherworn and solid against their back. Otohan's eyes dart to Imogen fast enough to catch her hastily averting her own gaze. She may not voice it aloud, but she is clearly just as curious about the physical boundaries of their connection.
A long moment passes as Otohan waits for Imogen to meet their stare. She doesn't.
{ change the physicality experimenting, make it more awkward for Otohan. }
"I'd like to try something."
Imogen's eyes widen slightly, staring hard at the trinket. 'Don't you dare,' she warns.
"Relax," Otohan murmurs. "I would not give myself away. Just, stay there, please."
Imogen's gaze darts around to her friends, but she nevertheless stays still. Otohan steps behind her, watching the way her shoulders tense even further. When Otohan places their hands on Imogen's hips, they are warm and solid beneath her grip. They steer her forward.
'What are you doing?'
"Grip the edge of the crate, { please." }
Imogen does, though haltingly, clearly more confused than anything. Otohan trails their hands to Imogen's, weaving their fingers between hers, pressing their weight into her to find that the crate is solid beneath their touch. { Weathered wood with the occasional scrape of a stray splinter. }
Otohan stares down at their hands, Imogen's clutching tight while Otohan strokes a finger along the rough wood, the texture clear and real. When Otohan hums contemplatively, Imogen's shoulders tense further still. Otohan has the insistent urge to push—to press in close just to watch the way Imogen squirms. They don't.

MINORS & AGELESS BLOGS PLEASE DNI!!
Tumblr media
Hi! Welcome to my RP blog! This is just a post for those who are interested in roleplaying with me, and also to get to know me a little bit! I'm just going to go through a few things about me and things I'd like to look for in a roleplay with someone, fandoms I'm familiar with/interact with, characters I play for others, and characters others could play for me. Keep in mind... This is honestly my first time posting about RP on Tumblr, I've usually spent my years on Amino or Discord, I just wanted to try something new here :) Lets hop right in!
Tumblr media
🕷️ !rules + info! 🕷️
01) PLEASE! Be respectful of my reply times. Sometime’s I’m available during the day and sometimes I’m not. I may even reply in the middle of the night, (I don’t have the best sleep schedule.) Either way, I get my replies in to you as soon as I can, I’m sure I’ll be able to tell you if I’m busy for the day or night, so please don’t get angry with me if I’m not able to reply to you when you want me to.
02) Absolutely NO Racism, Religion Debates, Political Debates, Homophobia, Transphobia, etc. Anything along these lines is an instant block.
03) I roleplay on either Tumblr or Discord, preferably on Discord but if you’re more comfortable on this app then I don’t mind at all! Just let me know!
04) My discord can be accessed by sending me a DM here on Tumblr.
05) I am very OC friendly! Hence why Double-Up’s are my main go-to, but I’m not opposed to ship RP’s and others! I’ve done a few ccxcc or ocxoc roleplays and I honestly don’t do them enough. I really don’t mind doing any kind of roleplay with people :)
06) Please don’t be afraid to tell me any random facts or headcanons about your OC, or share your thoughts about any CC characters we may be using! I tend to ramble on about my OC’s so I really don’t see a problem with you doing the same, I honestly love to hear the character development :)
07) All I ask is for no weird ships… such as MinorxAdult, TeacherxStudent, and nothing of that sort.
08) My literacy tends to switch a lot, depending on my mood and how much there really is to type… but I usually don’t go anywhere below 2-3 paragraphs. My replies can get very large to some people, and some may view it as perfect. I can give you examples if you’d like in DM’s, but if you request for a lot of writing or not too much, I can stick to it. Whatever is comfortable for you. :)
09) Don’t be afraid to talk to me outside of Roleplaying if you want! I’m a very social person and I don’t mind talking to anybody outside of roleplaying.
10) I am open to NSFW roleplays, I won’t roleplay NSFW with the highschool / teenage characters though. Hope you understand :)
11) I’m open for group roleplays, but please ask permission first before adding me to a discord server or groupchat!
Tumblr media
🕷️ !anime & muses! 🕷️
Note: I’m not involved in many fandoms, there are obviously some where I’m more interactive and know more about it, but I’m very easy to picking up character personalities. If you have a request that I haven’t listed, I’m sure I can work something out for you!
Jujutsu Kaisen (Main): Satoru Gojo, Kento Nanami, Toji Fushiguro, Choso, Maki Zenin, Shoko Ieiri, Megumi Fushiguro, Yuuji Itadori. (I’m WAY TOO GOOD at playing the character Gojo… obviously… look at my page & theme. I’m good at playing as the other listed characters aswell, but Gojo is my main and the main guy everyone asks for…. just know that I’m a great fit for the job lolols.)
Tokyo Revengers: Mikey, Chifuyu, Baji, Smiley, Takemichi, Hanma, Ran. (I need to catch up on Tokyo Revengers. But I’m very well aware of the characters and their personality. My best played character for this anime is prooobably Mikey or Baji.)
My Hero Academia: Shigaraki, Toga, Twice, Aizawa, Kurogiri, Mr. Compress, Todoroki, Kirishima, Bakugou, Shinso. (“SPYRO IS SO GOOD AT RPING AS VILLAINS” says a good friend of mine… and it’s true. Honestly, just name a villain and it’ll be done for you within a snap of a finger.)
Chainsaw Man: Makima, Aki, Denji, Power. (Makima is my main with CSM, but other characters listed I’m still able to play well! Especially Denji…)
Death Note: Light, L, Misa. (I’m not TOO involved with Death Note since I watched it so long ago, but I’ve done it before and I can do it again!)
Demon Slayer: Giyuu, Akaza, Zenitsu, Obanai, Muzan, Sabito. (BBY GIYUU IS MY MAINNN i love him so much and he will love you too.)
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Joseph Joestar, Jotaro, Dio, Jonathan, Jolyne. (…I play Jotaro best. You won’t be disappointed.)
Bonus: Modern Warfare II: Soap, Alejandro, Soap, Gaz, Laswell. (This is not at anime but… definitely a roleplay request that I’ve had and probably one of the most funnest thing to roleplay if you know what’s happening in the campaign. I do my best playing literally any of these characters, just ask and you shall receive.)
Tumblr media
🕷️ !characters 4 me! 🕷️
Jujutsu Kaisen: Ryomen Sukuna, Suguru Geto, or Kento Nanami. (OC for Jujutsu Kaisen has an interaction with all 3 characters in her life, but not at the same time; Nanami never really happened romantically in her life, but ideas spark. AU’s can be made for characters, but her main lover is Ryomen Sukuna.)
Tokyo Revengers: Draken or Baji. (OC for Tokyo Revengers is still in a bit of development. Either boys work for her love life. Whichever you prefer to play if we decide on a Tokyo Revengers roleplay.)
My Hero Academia: Hawks (Keigo Takami) is an Ex-Lover of OC, OC’s Current lover is Dabi (Touya Todoroki). (OC is VERY WELL DEVELOPED for MHA. I don’t roleplay MHA as much as I used to, but very very open to it!)
Demon Slayer: Tengen is an Ex-Lover of OC, Rengoku is a possible lover in OC’s future. (Complicated OC development… I love roleplaying Demon Slayer with my OC but the storyline can make things difficult.)
Modern Warfare II: Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley (I know… He’s Overrated) Is the lover of MW2 OC. (Fully-Developed OC for MW2 + background story for CCxOC)

Hii, i wanted to ask your opinion :)
in sisi (2021) s2 when marie saved baby rudolf from the abusive nannys and franz misunderstood her of trying to hurt the baby and threatened to severely punish her, he later understood the truth but if he didn't get to know the truth do you think franz would have carried on with the threat, what do you think he would have done, would he merely send her away from court or do something more severe?
A quick caveat before I start - I have good access to season 1 but very poor access to season two, so this will reflect that.
Also a note on Sisi(2021) as a show - it's more of a show that values storytelling over historical accuracy, and in particular I have some gripes with how it sanitizes the misogyny of that time period in particular. As it takes more of a storytelling route as opposed to a historical accuracy one, I'm going to go with that to a degree.
First, the factors that need to be considered:
FJ's prior actions and general characterization: We see FJ punish Grunne for stopping him from striking a soldier who had disrespected FJ by having him beaten. Of note, Grunne is both a Count and one of very few people that FJ might just about call his friend. On the counterpoint though, the context was military.
FJ in general shows several times (starting with the executions that open episode one) that he's certainly not what one would call a lenient emperor and likes to project an image of strength. The show seems to be going the route of portraying FJ as a bit of a tyrant and then having him become a better ruler and less tyrannical under the influence of his wife.
Marie's Status: Marie seems to be somewhat based on Countess Marie Larsich, but with a few differences. The series' Marie is younger than Marie Larsich was when she became one of Sisi's ladies, and she's the daughter of a dead prostitute who was an accessory to treason. Marie Larsich was also the illegitimate daughter of one of Sisi's brothers. The series' Marie is very much utterly alone in the world - Sisi is basically all has.
The Crime: The Austro-Hungarian had a couple different versions of treason, but critically here the one that involved the Emperor was very specifically limited to trying to kill the Emperor himself. It didn't even cover the Empress. So there is no way this gets called treason, even if FJ thinks Marie is trying to kill Rudolf.
And now, onto some questions:
Would FJ let Marie explain? I don't think so. We've seem him be very quick to punish people (Grunne), and doing something that would harm the fragile and young Crown Prince, the Emperor's only son, seems to be the type of thing that would get a pretty quick reaction from FJ as opposed to anything else.
What would happen to Marie then? Well on the bright side she can't be charged with treason and Rudolf is fine. I'm not going to do a deep dive into Austro-Hungarian law regarding the age of criminal responsibility etc, but she's young enough that I think execution is off the table. What I would expect to happen is something along the lines of her being sent to a nunnery or the like, with any attempted intercession by Elisabeth only being able to change which nunnery rather than the fact that Marie is going to a nunnery. It is essentially a sentence of life in prison. I do think there would also be punishment for the people who were supposed to be supervising Rudolf as well.
All that being said, if word of it got out then FJ might do something harsher - I don't know if it would be harsher on Marie herself (mostly on account of her age), but I do think it would be harsher on those that should have been supervising Rudolf.

Hey! For the kiss prompts:
14. starting with a kiss meant to be gentle, ending up in passion
Hope you’ve been doing well! ✨
Thanks for the prompt/ask! Been a while since I worked on any of my stories. XD So I hope this comes out decent. Quick note this is one of the first times Green has kidnapped Peace, she did so as a paid job. A lot of the times she gets kidnapped by Green that's the case.
Green and Peace- Robots & Gardens
Peace leaned back against the wall, grumbling beneath her breath. Allowing it to support her as she slowly slid down to sit.
I mean situations like this were bound to happen. Especially when you ditch your only job and take on a new role as a protestor. And even more so when you can get other jobless and homeless people to side with you. Though that wasn't just Peace's doing. It was bound to happen eventually.
"I haven't done anything wrong." Peace called out, slamming her tied hands back against the wall.
"Obviously dumbass." A gruff voice carried out through a cracked door.
Peace leaned her head back against the wall and huffed, attempting to use her hair as a makeshift curtain. She had been panicking on the ride here but she learned quickly who had stolen her. Especially the way her captor had banged their head against the window as their helpers talked. It calmed the panic but fueled her with a mixture of emotions. And unlike the soda she was sipping on before this whole incident, this shit sucked.
The woman possessing the gruff voice stepped out. The door creaking loudly on it's hinges. The woman not bothering to squeeze through the space.
"Peace. When I hadn't heard from you I didn't think that would mean I'd have to kidnap you for a job." The woman leaned down, quickly removing the knife from her holster.
"Green. Since when do you kidnap people for money? I thought your whole thing was thieving and destroying property."
"Don't limit my abilities and don't limit what I'd do for cash," Green carefully slipped the knife beneath the rope restricting Peace's arms, "Now stay still. You get cut, it's your fault."
Peace rolled her eyes, of course it was about money. She begrudgingly remained still. The freckled protestor sighed relief as her arms were freed. Rolling her shoulders and wrists.
Green remained perched on one knee. She admired the woman, lips pressed into a firm line.
"You should've called. You know I would make space for you."
"Green you're a busy woman. You'd never get them anyway—"
Green slapped the woman's hands. Pointing the knife's blade at Peace's chest.
"I don't have a mobile phone yet. But I told everyone in my group to let me know who rings the group phone okay? I might not respond to them on time but I will answer."
Peace grabbed the hand Green was using to hold the knife and rose an eyebrow at the woman. It had obviously conflicted Peace more, it was all over her face. How was big and scary Green, well she was little compared to Peace, showing something that wasn't pride or anger.
"If it makes you feel better. My phone got wrecked a couple weeks ago. I wouldn't be able to contact anyway."
An aggressive sound managed to slip past tightly pressed lips.
Peace found herself chuckling at the worry that had formed creases on Green's forehead. This was a new look for sure.
"I'll play along this time. My protestors have this handled. You get that money and you've got me for the next couple days,"
Peace reached her fingers beneath the hair tie struggling to keep the opposing woman's hair up, snickering when the hair band popped.
"If you don't let me go after that. I'm beating your ass." Peace added, her fingers detangling a couple locks of Green's hair.
Green tried not to let the joy overcome her face. The light filtering into the room illuminating the two. Her eyes damn there brightened in excitement. Currently unbothered by her busted hair tie lying on the ground. She'd probably join it soon enough anyway.
"Tricking the man who paid me to kidnap you. Who would've known I'd taint your mind in such a way." Green gave a crooked smile
Peace tilted the woman's head up and placed a soft kiss on chapped lips. She broke it shortly and slipped the knife from Green's distracted hand cutting her legs free.
Green slipped into the woman's lap, holstering her knife.
Peace chuckled, "Am I forgiven for worrying you?"
Green rolled her eyes, "You fucking wish. What even makes you so sure I was even worried."
Peace tipped the woman's head up once more and allowed their lips to meet. Her own grin easing it's way into the kiss. Peace's skin flushing at Green's sneaking hand.
Green had managed to loosen a few buttons on her own shirt, laughing breathlessly when Peace separated for air. Green tugged the woman down by her collar almost immediately, humming at the contact. Both huffing breathless murmurs into the kiss.

Hi I love DT so much, exactly the kind of fic I enjoy reading multiple times :3
I have a question tho, does Spider have a thing for Meren? Some of his lines seemed kinda flirty, and Variks seemed extra grumpy about him interacting with her.
Looking forward to seeing how the story progresses, it's been a great read!
Hey, thank you so much! I'm glad you're enjoying the story. Even on subsequent reads! ::3
As for your question(s), the answers may take a bit of elaboration, but I'll do my best not to ramble on for too long.
First off, does Spider have a "thing" for Meren?
If this is meant in a romantic manner, the short answer is No.
I don't claim to be a Spider expert, but I think it's safe to say that he only really cares about one person - himself. Spider does what's good for Spider. In doing so, his character has a tendency to "endear" himself to anyone who may be useful to him and his endeavors (e.g. his flattery towards the Guardians during the opening bits of the Forsaken expansion). All of this, of course, is a facade.
With Meren, Spider started off with the tactic of intimidation, but upon realizing her full potential of utility, began to shift toward a more congenial approach. Think how much more impressionable Meren could be if she saw Spider as a friend as opposed to a ruthless mob boss! Think of all the extra books he could get! All the information! And so forth. Hence, the vaguely flirty comments in their latest interaction.
This wasn't directly a question, but you noted that Variks "seemed extra grumpy about [Spider] interacting with [Meren]". Why is that?
Though not explicitly stated in the story (since it's not from Variks' perspective), it can be inferred that Variks has been offering Meren a curated experience during her Reef visit. Most notably how he's intentionally been keeping her from the worst of The Horrors™ of the Prison of Elders, along with some of the less-than-illustrious bits of his own personal history. Keep in mind that these omissions are intentional. Much like Spider, Variks is keen on not upsetting Meren, and thus far in DT, he's kept the unpleasantness on a drip feed so as not to immediately drive her away. Because...reasons.
Now, imagine Spider, who's had a front row seat to Variks' shenanigans with the House of Wolves and later the Awoken (this includes his tenure as Warden of the Prison of Elders). Given that history, Spider's most certainly privy to information Variks hasn't seen fit to share with Meren (yet). How easy would it be for him to divulge some of Variks' messier secrets? A few choice words and Meren's carefully cultivated conception of the Scribe is ruined. Or, best case, conflicted. Of this fact, Variks is fully aware.
(As a side note - that's not to say Spider would actually do that. He currently has no reason to dredge up dirt on Variks that would send Meren into a tizzy. But the potential is there.)
Apart from the threat posed by the knowledge Spider holds, there's an additional aspect of jealousy on Variks' part that contributes to his grumpiness. Truth is, Variks really does enjoy educating Meren on the various aspects of Eliksni culture. He enjoys her company, and moreover, her curiosity about his people's culture gives them an excuse to spend long evenings together, talking over tea once the day's work is done.
But once again, enter the Spider problem.
Spider, though not Riisborn, knows enough about Eliksni culture that he could theoretically step in and educate Meren. Doubtless, she'd be all too happy to oblige. This would ultimately steal Variks' thunder, as it were, and significantly impact the time Variks gets to spend with Meren. Can't have that! Nor could Variks tolerate any inaccuracies Spider may be spreading. House Judgement knows best and all that.
So, hopefully that answers your question...in no less than half a treatise.
Anyway, thank you for the ask, anon, and thank you for giving me an excuse to ramble about the blorbos. Always happy to answer DT and/or Meren-related questions!

I saw this post of yours and another one I'd recommend is Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle by CLAMP. Fye and Kurogane show strong resemblance to Griffith and Guts. Their color schemes - Fye has white and blue while Kurogane has black and red. Their appearance - Fye has wavy blond hair, blue eyes, light skin; Kurogane has spiky black hair, reddish dark eyes, tanned skin. Their dynamics - Fye is smiley and polite while Kurogane tends to look stern and they fought a lot when they'd just met but they grew close as time passed. They're not the protagonists, but they accompany the protagonists so they appear a lot and their narratives are linked to that of the protagonists.
Here's Fye, a sorcerer from an icy world. He's on a run from a curse.
Tumblr media
Here's Kurogane, a swordman from feudal Japan. He was always on a killing spree ever since his mom was murdered in front of him (cueing prototype Guts here) so it got to the point the person he was serving, the princess of Japan, exiled him.
Tumblr media
When I browse Berserk discussions sometimes I'd see people talk about the role Void has in the story. Miura once said something along the lines of "it all points to Void" (Imma need to find which interview this is in) and people are speculating whether Void is using Griffith and Skull Knight is using Guts. Maybe the Japanese audience see this more clearly. Fye and Kurogane are sent to the protagonists by two opposing forces to lead the protagonists down the path each force wants, in a way they're pawns without knowing it, so if it's true that Griffith and Guts are also actors in Void's and Skull Knight's plans then it tracks. I just want to note that, in Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle at least, when a character is used by someone else to enact a plan, it doesn't mean that character has no agency nor power, it doesn't mean that character's narrative is any less about them. It just means whoever is using them has a way to make whatever they end up doing serve their plan. If this pawn-with-agency thingy happens to be a storywriting trope popular among mangakas, and this is also something Fye and Kurogane are inspired by Griffith and Guts, there's still an interest to take in each character's personal motivation I'm just saying.
For those who don't know, CLAMP is a Japanese mangaka group and you might've watched Card Captor Sakura - their most popular work outside Japan! When I was little I loved their works because the visuals and the outfits were stunning, though the plotline was quite hard for a child to comprehend so I had to revisit their works when I got older. They incorporate the concept of parallel universes (the idea that there are other universes that exist alongside ours where another version of us, with the same identity and the same social relations, live a possibly different life) into their works so some of their characters are reused for multiple series and each work seems to be about one universe and they're all interconnected. Parallel universes and CLAMP's world-building rules were mind-boggling for 12yo me but reading their series were super fun regardless.
Oho!
I'm not really familiar with Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle though I am aware of it. So I don't have much to add, but I figured I'd pass the rec along to the rec hungry.

Alvvays defined
This one is gonna be a fun post for me to make. Listening to the monarchs of musical bliss, the indie pop idols, Alvvays, every time, without fail feels like an inherent act of musical artistic appreciation, like I can't help but to think about how great music as an art form is. To make it all the more impressive, the band manage to maintain that high constantly throughout an album, and across albums. I don't tend to buy into the whole "no bad songs" thing because I find it undermines the value of your appreciation if you ignore flaws as opposed to loving something in spite (or even because) of them, but when it comes to Alvvays, I genuinely don't dislike a single song, even really a single moment, they've created. They aren't perfect of course, and we'll get into that a little bit in a second, but I'm convinced they are one of the best indie acts going. Let's get into why.
Alvvays (self-titled)
Tumblr media
When I say this album is one-note, you'd be forgiven for thinking I found the album monotonous, boring, and repetitive. You'd be forgiven, but mistaken. This debut album from Alvvays is consistently exciting and establishes a core identity expertly over a concise 33 minute runtime, which also helps ensure that their lack of experimentation isn't felt. Featuring flowery and left-field lyrics (see Adult Diversion), dreamy guitar lines (see Atop a Cake) and the perfectly restrained rhythms to facilitate the euphoria of each and every song, the Alvvays sound was focused and flawlessly executed from day one.
I did mention that Alvvays weren't perfect in the preamble, and while they came out on their first album more or less fully formed, that applies as much to many negatives of theirs as it does to positives, and the clearest negative I've found in their discography is inconsistent album sequencing. I haven't tried, but I get the impression their albums, especially their later two, wouldn't be too badly affected by playing them on shuffle, although each project certainly has its own identity which helps them feel cohesive.
Even with that negative though, the sheer quality of these songs make it fantastic, especially considering it's a debut. Not many acts are immediately gifted enough to get me whipped up in the pure joy of music like songs such as Archie, Marry Me, Party Police, Atop a Cake, and Red Planet do.

Antisocialites
Tumblr media
What do you get if you take the exceptional qualities of the last album, and add some refinement and slight experimentation, along with punchier production? A 10/10 album called Antisocialites, apparently. You hear it all right off the bat too, with In Undertow introducing you to the album with a washed out distorted guitar that feels like the aural version of a low wave on the beach immersing your feet. That blissful, "life is great", picturesque holiday feeling pervades this album entirely. You cannot love music, hear this album and not feel joy. It's just impossible, and I will not be convinced otherwise. Alvvays had me by the balls from the first note of the album and took the opportunity to give me a (barely metaphorical) orgasm.
I must admit, I struggle to be at all analytical about this album, as you may have noticed, simply because this capacity to induce joy and awe almost evades analysis. I can tell you it's indie pop. I can tell you it's brilliant and one-of-a-kind, but I just cannot tell you why beyond what I have here. It all just either seems so perfect but so obvious, or just completely indescribable.
Again, I don't like to say that something is without flaws, I don't like sounding so uncritically adoring, but every song on here (except one that I will get to) is noteworthy and awe-inspiring to me. The perfect energy of Plimsoll Punks and Your Type, the girl-group charm of Not My Baby, the dynamism of Hey... I could easily go on, but I'll spare you any further pious rambling, and leave it at the promise that every song is incredible in its own unique way that branches naturally from the sound established on the band's debut.
The one criticism I have that I hinted at earlier, was that the sequencing was a little awkward again, particularly in that Already Gone, a song that is well below the album's par for me (although still great in a vacuum because of course it is, Alvvays are almost annoyingly good at this whole music thing), felt forced in between Lollipop (Ode to Jim) and Saved by a Waif. I'm glad it's a song that has seen the light of day, and I think there's definitely a version of this album with that song on it that feels more natural, perhaps having it by the slightly slow Dreams Tonite as opposed to being sandwiched between very high energy, happy songs, but it just doesn't work here in my opinion.
Anyway, that's about enough fawning for a [blank] defined post, so overall thoughts: Alvvays' middlebrow status-quo rituals more than sufficed here and if you like indie pop or any surrounding genres and don't listen to it, you're stinky and I don't respect you until you do. Do it. It's good, you'll like it. Look, I'll even link it for you:

Blue Rev
Tumblr media
And after a quick 5-year non-hiatus- induced break filled with drama, personal and global (Donald Trump's presidential era gets strictly no Alvvays, which I respect), the frankly too talented Alvvays returned with their most diverse album yet, starting with a slightly garage-leaning rendition of their sound with Pharmacist and Easy On Your Own? before getting back to their old sound, and their best version of it yet, at that, with After the Earthquake (obligatory mention that the final "are you awake now?" that Molly Rankin belts out is eargasmic), which makes for an incredible introduction to the album, telling you to expect a lot of variety, but in a way that is true to their already established identity.
Then they try their hand at being a The Smiths cover band without getting into legal trouble with Pressed, and they mimic their indie royalty predecessors with an apparent ease that is mind-boggling and follow it up with the sincerely sweet Many Mirrors which, thematically, appears to act as a reprieve from the stories of romantic hardship to tell a, presumably, more reality-founded story of a situation that is as effortless as it was at the onset of their feelings.
Then there's a sharp left-turn towards the delightful Voidz-esque Very Online Guy that just confirms that the band are having as much fun as you are, as the band takes the soundscape of the early internet to inspire the instrumentation on the track about a guy who is, get this, very online. It goes over cyber stalking, constant opinions, and similarly modern stressors with a sense of humour that makes it go down so easy.
Then Velveteen (yes we're going more or less track-by-track, this album is chaotic in the best way) serves as the payoff to mentions of "velvet" found in other songs on the album, giving those mentions an added level of meaning retroactively before flowing perfectly (credit where it's due) to the similarly mellow, and distinctly melancholic Tile By Tile and then reminds you what band you're listening to by taking the foot off the brakes with the ball of tired altruist energy of Pomeranian Spinster, my personal favourite Alvvays track that doesn't even get enough love amongst Alvvays fans from what I've seen. It's a typical length, 3 and a half minute song that is so incredibly fun and charismatic it feels like half that at least.
From there, you're given a little bit of a break with the Belinda Carlisle-approved Belinda Says which is a beautiful anthem about just making it work. Being dealt a shitty hand but going all in anyway and figuring it out as you go.
From there, the album mostly just continues to wind-down, which is far from a flaw. In fact I think it was necessary. Constantly high energy isn't as easy to pull off over 30 minutes as it is over 40 and taking that extra few moments to just bring you back down to reality pays dividends for an album that gives you transcendent moments like they have an overabundance of them, which I imagine isn't actually far from the truth.
All that positive stuff being said, the album does have it's flaws. Personally, Fourth Figure strikes me as tonally redundant, and while the sequencing is more or less on point here, the album does still feel a little too messy to match or surpass the quality of Antisocialites, even if it does provide it's own charm.

Playlist
Frankly, I'd recommend just listening to the albums, in chronological order even, but for those who, for whatever reason, would prefer a playlist of some of their best, most representative stuff (at least in my humble opinion), that can be found below. I hope it helps you in some way!

Hi! I'm new to the Taylor Kitsch fandom, and so glad to have found your account. Halfway through The Terminal List & trying to find all his previous shows to binge-watch and just been reading up all the interviews I can find on him. I've seen Battleship and Only The Brave in the past but didn't really pay much attention to him at the time (silly me!!). My question is-apart from Painkiller, have you heard what else he's got lined up? He just needs to be in more movies :D thanks!!
Answer: He definitely just needs to be in more movies/shows! Though as a new Taylor fan you may soon find out that he's pretty picky and does things at his own pace. The only thing he has filmed that is ready to come out is Painkiller. He made some passing mention of possibly doing something with Peter Berg early next year, but that doesn't sound definite. So as of right now the only thing we know for sure he has on his calendar is getting out there and doing promo for Painkiller later this year/early next year.
Terminal List was obviously met with mixed reviews, but Taylor's performance was pretty universally praised. And just to note that he was number 11 overall on the IMDb starmeter which is the highest among any actor from The Terminal List, Chris Pratt was 16. So people are interested in him, looking him up, whether they're just being introduced to him, trying to find out where he's been...it's a good thing. Hopefully with his name back out there and being on such a popular show he'll ride a bit of a wave and have some good offers that he'll actually accept.
Ask #2: Do they say anything about Taylor on the jack carr podcast?
Answer: I do know that there is a Terminal List podcast out there, I haven't had the energy to listen to it yet. When I go back to rewatch Terminal List I'll probably listen to it as I go along and I can share any Taylor mentions, which I'm sure there will be plenty.
Ask #3: What was the brand of shotgun used in the Terminal list? Beneli or Beretta?
Answer: This is like French to me, but:
Kit includes Beretta 1301 tricked out by @aridus_industries , plate carrier is @blueforcegear , side arm is @glockinc g19X, comms are @invisioofficial , watch is @gshock_casio_official
Tumblr media
Ask #4: Is Taylor doing inferno? Is Taylor filming pieces?
Answer: I combined these asks. I've said this before but both of these projects seem to be dead in the water. Inferno was a casualty of Covid and Pieces is a pet project of his that's been indefinitely put on the back-burner, even though last week someone somewhere dug up some old quote about Taylor mentioning Taylor Sheridan had a hand in it. I was side-eyeing some of the outlets that ran with that because it was "buzz-worthy" because Taylor's name was kind of trending and Taylor Sheridan is everywhere right now, but that information is years old. Nothing has changed with either project and their status. If anything does change I would share.
Ask #5: Just checking in to ask how you’re feeling? 🤒
Thank you for the check in! I hesitate to say better because the symptoms are weird. I have a fever that comes and goes at night accompanied by chills, tons of congestion and a productive cough. Today was the first day I woke up and felt like it was a bad cold as opposed to something worse, so hopefully progress.
I did lose my taste and smell so that's a bummer. I am double vaxxed and boosted and this is my first time getting it. I consider myself lucky that I haven't had it yet. I do believe I have the new variant, which after talking to my doctor yesterday, is apparently super contagious and moving fast. Stay safe out there people!
