Too Trusting-Thor Odinson x Reader

MASTERLIST
Summary: (Y/N) starts to sense a pattern whenever Thor tells stories of his brother, and she can't help but point it out to him.
Characters: Thor Odinson x Reader
Meanings: (Y/N)=Your name
Warnings: Arguing, fluff
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
As Thor told me yet another tale about Loki, I had to stop myself making faces or rolling my eyes, because I knew what was coming next as he spoke. Although he was telling the story in a joyful way, I knew that he had gone through a lot of hurt due to his brother. This was how the anecdote would go: Thor was the hero, he needed help, bargains with Loki, everything goes smoothly until Loki betrays him and/or fakes his death. The day would still be saved but Thor was still upset over his brother.
"My love, did you hear what I said?" Thor asked.
"Yes, I did." I didn't mean to snap.
"What is wrong? Did something happened today? I'm sorry, I never asked, I just started rambling."
"No, nothing happened today. It's just..." I didn't know how to go about this without hurting his feelings.
"Yes?"
"Thor, these stories are all the same."
"Oh, I do not believe they are, I've been on many adventures and quests, none are the same as the other."
"Not the stories per say. It seems that every time Loki is involved he...he uses you."
He scoffed with a smile."What?"
"He always either betrays you or lies to you about dying. I just thought after all these times, maybe you would clock onto it."
"Are you saying I'm stupid?" he stood from the bed where we had been lying opposite each other.
I sat up."No, of course not! It's more like, you're too trusting."
"And that's a bad thing?"
"Sometimes it is."
"You don't know Loki, you've never met him."
"I know, but what else am I supposed to think when all the stories you tell me portray him as the cunning one?"
"That's what he is though, the God of Mischief, it's in his nature."
"I understand that Thor, but I thought mischief might mean playing tricks on people. Not invading Earth."
"I told you about that time he turned into snake and bit me, right?"
I sighed, it either wasn't getting through to him or he was too stubborn to admit I was right.
"You don't know my brother. He's...misunderstood. He did not receive the love father gave me as we grew up."
"Well, that's very unfortunate but what did you ever do to him?"
I could see he was getting angry now. I really didn't want this to turn into an argument, maybe I shouldn't have said anything. But if I couldn't tell him, who could?
"Thor, please can you just sit down? I really didn't mean to upset you."
"Well I can't stop thinking about it now. Who else sees me as an idiot? Was I a fool in front of all of my family and friends, my friends from work?"
He was pacing now, slowly, but it was clear to see he was trying to keep calm. When he was angry it wasn't pretty. He had never directed it at me, and I know he wouldn't now, however this had hit a nerve.
"No one sees you that way." I crawled to the egde of the bed, now sat on top of my knees."I only brought it up because I don't like thinking of you in those situations. I just...it sounded like you didn't realise what was happening in those moments."
"I would like to see you battling monsters and evil men, I don't think you would come out of it lightly." he spat.
My mouth dropped open. Now I was angry too. I stood on the bed, only just coming to eye level with him.
"This isn't about me winning any battles! I know I wouldn't last a second out there. Why aren't you acknowledging this?"
"Because no matter how many times I gave him a chance he let me down!"
A sudden crack of thunder made me jump, I faltered on the bed, almost falling. Thor moved to steady me until he saw that I quickly regained myself. But it was weet to see him still caring even though we were bickering.
I let a few seconds pass by, a small trickle of rain gently hit against the windows. OK, it wasn't a huge storm, that was a good thing.
"Thor," I gently said, stepping down to the floor,"I'm sorry for confronting you about this. I thought maybe you were in denial. And I understand why you would be. You love Loki, you want to give him second chances because you're a good person, you see the good in everyone. But you can't let yourself be in harms way when things like that happen. What if the next time he betrayed you-"
"There may not be a next time!" he then looked like he was thinking."Oh, I'm beginning to see what you mean."
I calmly continued."What if next time he betrays you, you get seriously hurt, or killed even! And even if Loki quickly regretted his decision, it could be too late to save you."
Thor lowered his head. He hated being wrong, just like I did. I watched as he turned his back to me, sitting on the end of the bed. I had learned that although Thor liked to be alone with his thoughts, he did need a calmer person to talk things through, make him see this all from a different perspective.
"I didn't meant to make you sad." I mumbled, looking out at the rain."I hope you know I said all this because I love you. It would crush me to see Loki go behind your back again."
He didn't say anything, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees. Slowly I approached him, kneeling on the bed again but behind him. I rested my whole body on his back, wrapping my arms around his torso as much as I could.
"Please talk to me."
"I know you are right. But I don't want you to be."
Oh, he sounded so sad.
"Neither do I. You now I didn't say it out of spite against you or Loki. It's just hard to paint a pretty picture of him."
"I know."
I kissed the back of his shoulder."Do you want to be alone?"
"No." he placed a hand over mine."But, please can we not talk about this anymore?"
"Of course."
"I wish you could meet him. Or have met him before he turned into what he is now."
"Me too."
"I hate disloyalty and dishonesty. I am sorry I got angry but it is a difficult subject for me to talk about."
"I know. Shall we just go back to lying down together?"
"Yes."

First thing the next morning, you rush to Bruce’s lab again. You know he’ll already be in there, working away; he always is these days. This time you knock on the double doors, cracking one open and poking your head round to peer inside.
Bruce is sat at his desk, concentrating on the layer of papers spread haphazardly across its surface. The machinery that had been all over the floor the other day, is now gathered up in a heap at the side of the room. It looks no closer to being completed, whatever it’s supposed to be.
Bruce looks up when he hears you knock.
“Y/N, hey,” he says, smiling sleepily and pulling his glasses off his nose to rub a hand over his face. You’re judging by the dark circles under his eyes that he’s been awake all night. “Did you have any luck getting a present for Thor?” he asks, stifling a yawn.
“That’s actually what I wanted to talk to you about,” you say, hovering next to the door. “Is now a good time?”
He pushes his glasses back onto his face and starts shifting the papers around on his desk, tidying them into a messy pile.
“Er, yeah, sure.” He gestures for you to come in, frowning slightly.
“Don’t worry, I’m not here to pick your brains for ideas again,” you huff a nervous laugh and he looks relieved. “I was actually hoping you might be able to… help me find someone,” you say carefully.
“Oh,” he glances up from the papers in his hand, intrigued. “Who?”
You hover awkwardly in front of his desk and take a deep breath.
“Loki,” you say quickly, before you have the chance to convince yourself that this is a bad idea. “I need you to help me find Loki.”
Bruce stares at you for a moment in silence, his paperwork now laying forgotten on the desk. Squints his eyes slightly as if trying to figure out if you’re joking. He opens his mouth to speak, then closes it again. He lets out a huff of breath and shakes his head, baffled.
“You’re not serious?” he finally asks you.
You take a step closer.
“Look, I know this sounds crazy-”
“Yeah, it does,” Bruce cuts in.
“But, please, I didn’t know who else to ask,” you plead with him. You knew there was no way anyone else would ever agree to help you. Bruce was by far your best shot. He’d been there when Loki had helped Thor defeat Hela; he’d seen first hand that Loki clearly isn’t all bad.
“But why? Why in the Hell would you want to find Loki?”
His question catches you off guard and you stare at him. You’d thought your reasoning would have been obvious.
“For Thor,” you say simply.
“And you think Thor would want to see him? After everything he’s done?”
You have no doubt that he would.
“Loki’s his brother, Bruce, of course he’d want to see him.”
Banner gives a laboured sigh and takes his glasses off again, this time abandoning them on the desk. He leans back in his chair to look at you, his brow furrowed deeply.
“Y/N, look, Loki and Thor have a complicated past. That’s something that’s best not getting mixed up in.”
You get what Bruce is trying to say, but you can’t help but feel like he’s wrong about this. As if he can hear your thoughts, he adds, “Trust me, Y/N, it won’t end well for anyone. Loki’s brain is like a bag full of cats.”
“Well that doesn’t sound so bad…” you mumble quietly, in an attempt to lighten the mood a little; but when you meet Bruce’s eyes, they are serious.
In the awkward silence, you lean against the filing cabinet beside you and fold your arms over your chest.
“It’s just, Thor seemed so upset when we were talking about Loki yesterday. I really think he does miss him. I mean, how could he not? No matter what Loki may have done in the past, they’re family.” You look at him pleadingly. “And he’s the only family Thor has left,” you add thickly.
“If it were my sister… even if she had done all of the bad things Loki has, I would still want to find her.  To know that she was ok.”
You had thought that Bruce was the person who knew Thor the best out of everyone at the compound, but now you can see you were wrong. It was so obvious to you that Thor was hurting over Loki and everyone else was so blinded by Loki’s wrong-doings that they couldn’t see it.
Bruce slowly stands and makes his way round to the front of his desk, sitting down on the edge  closest to you. He seems torn.
“Y/N,” he says, hesitating. “I can’t help you. Even if I wanted to find Loki myself, nobody knows where he is. I’m sorry.”
There’s a sinking feeling deep in the pit of your stomach.
“You’re right. It was a stupid idea.” You sit down on the edge of the desk, beside him, and hang your head.
He sighs and reaches over to reluctantly touch your arm. You glance down at it in surprise.
“No, it wasn’t, Y/N. You were trying to do a nice thing for Thor, because you love him. That’s not stupid, that’s beautiful.” He smiles reassuringly at you then takes his hand back. “Even if it was trying to reunite him with his homicidal maniac of a brother,” he adds. You both huff a laugh.
A moment passes in silence and you consider getting up to leave. You glance at Bruce to see him pulling a face, as if he’s struggling to make his mind up about something. He catches you looking at him and seems to cave.
“Look,” he says, pausing to glance at  you again as if he’s already regretting saying anything, “But, perhaps the next time Thor goes to New Asgard, you should go with him,” he lets the sentence hang there for a second, then quickly adds, “I’m not saying anyone there will know where Loki is, or that they would even want to help you, but... it’s a place to start.” He shrugs halfheartedly.
You jump up from the table excitedly.
“Of course! Bruce, you’re a genius! Thank you.”
He puts his hands up in front of him, shaking his head.
“Oh, no. I’m not taking any credit for this.” He looks at you concernedly. “Just… be careful, ok? I don’t want this to backfire, for your sake.”
Tumblr media
After speaking with Bruce, you practically skip down the halls of the compound, excited to ask Thor if he would let you accompany him to New Asgard.
“Thor?” you ask in a sing-song voice, entering your bedroom. He’s not there. You peer into the ensuite bathroom, “Thor?” Not in there either.
Wondering where he could be, you head back out of your room and down the hall to the communal living area. As the door slides open you notice two blonde-haired, broad-shouldered men, sitting on the sofa with their backs to you.
“There you are,” you say, walking towards Thor and Steve, who both jump at the sound of you. You had always thought it was impossible to sneak up on a Demi-God and a super soldier with enhanced hearing, but apparently they were so transfixed with what they were doing, they hadn’t heard you enter. Thor jumps to his feet and bounds over, intercepting you before you can make it round to the front of the sofa.
Steve panickingly attempts to cover whatever is on the coffee table in front of him, but you can’t see past Thor’s thick frame anyway.
“I thought you were going out shopping, my love,” Thor says shiftily, placing two large hands on your upper arms and steering you slightly further away from the sofa.
“I’m just about to, I had something to do first,” you say, referring to your visit to Bruce’s lab. “What are you two doing?” You ask him, with suspicion, attempting to peer past him. He blocks you with his shoulder.
“Nothing that concerns you,” he says, but his tone is playful.
“Alright…” you say, narrowing your eyes slightly. “Anyway,” you continue, changing the subject to the reason you came to find him in the first place, “I was just wondering… the next time you go to New Asgard, could I perhaps go with you?”
He looks surprised by your suggestion.
“I mean, I totally don’t have to, if you would prefer to go alone. I just thought…”
He cuts off your rambling by embracing you so hard in his large arms that he almost lifts you straight off the floor.
“That would be wonderful!” He says excitedly, beaming at you. “I can’t wait to introduce you to my fellow Asgardians, they will love you!”
“Ok, that’s great,” you say, returning his smile, “I’m really looking forward to meeting them.”
He lets go of you and you straighten your outfit. “Well, I better go do some shopping, or I’ll never be ready for Christmas,” you say then give Thor a peck on the lips. “I’ll see you later.”
“Goodbye, my love,” he says, steering you back in the direction of the door.
“Bye Steve,” you say, waving to him, still sitting on the sofa.
Tumblr media
Having panicked and finally given in to Sam and Nat’s idea, you’re now hurrying down the busy city street lined with twinkling fairy lights, in the direction of the nearest lingerie shop. You glance at the window of a shop across the street from you and do a double take.
There’s a large glass tank in the display. You stop abruptly to stare at it from the opposite side of the pavement out of curiosity, causing the woman behind you to swerve out of the way to avoid hitting you with her shopping bags. She tuts loudly as she carries on bustling down the street.
You carefully negotiate crossing the busy road, then stand on the sidewalk with one of your gloved hands held up to the glass, cupped above your eyes to help you see in through the window of the store.
You can see the outlines of various tanks and cages along the back wall and, in the ones closer to you, the moving shapes of the different animals inside them.
The snake in the tank closest to you, slithers slightly closer to the window and raises its head, staring back at you, unblinking. Butterflies start swirling around in your stomach, as you peer in at it. You remember your conversation with Thor from yesterday and how he had said he loves snakes. Is this a totally insane idea? you think to yourself. Not the first one I’ve had today, you add, remembering Banner’s reaction to you wanting to find Loki.
A small, hopeful part of you thinks as you gaze at the animal, that perhaps it would remind him of his brother and the good times they used to have together. It seems like a good alternative, at least until you can start your search for Loki properly.
You chew on your bottom lip, still studying the snake. As much as you think he’d love it, what if Thor doesn’t want the commitment of owning a pet? He does sometimes go on long missions and wouldn’t be around to look after it all the time; but you would be there, so it wouldn’t be neglected.
You’re slowly talking yourself into it, when you’re drawn out of your reverie by a voice beside you. “Unusual creatures, aren’t they?”
You look to your left, startled, to see a man wearing a smart black suit and overcoat with black shoulder length hair, standing next to you.
He’s staring straight ahead, but you know his comment was definitely directed at you; there’s no one else around for him to have aimed it at. Following his gaze, you see he is looking through the window at the large tank with the snake in it; the very same snake you had just been considering buying for Thor.
“Yeah,” you say in response, not really sure what else to say. “I was thinking of buying one for my boyfriend. As a Christmas present.”
He turns to look at you and offers you a charming smile. “That’s very thoughtful of you,” he says in his posh British accent, then pauses, “I’m sure Thor will love it. He was always very fond of snakes.”
You smile in return then do a double take.
“What? How… how do you…?” You stumble over your words, causing him to laugh lightly, flashing his teeth. Then it clicks.
“Loki?” you whisper in amazement.
He bows his head to you.
“Lady Y/N.”
You’re dumbfounded. Opening and shutting your mouth several times. You discreetly pinch the skin on your forearm, just to make sure you’re not dreaming.
“How…?” is the only thing able to make it past your lips, as you gaze at him in wonder and disbelief.
This earns another soft chuckle from him.
He gestures across the road towards a small park area with a few benches, “We have much to talk about. Shall we?”
At a complete loss for words, you simply nod and follow his lead.
Tumblr media
“After we escaped, I had nowhere to go,” Loki explains. “Asgard was destroyed and I couldn’t go back to Sakaar. Which was a shame really, I quite liked it there. Could see myself fitting in,” he adds wistfully. “I’m not exactly welcome here on Midgard,” he casts a wary look around as he says this, lowering his voice. “So I ventured off on my own, trying to find another planet to settle on.”
“So, why did you come back?” you ask.
He looks at you with a creased brow.
“I’ve come to tell you to stop looking for me.”
You scoff softly, taken aback by his suggestion.
“How did you know I was looking for you, when I hadn’t even started?” Then a thought creeps into your brain, making you shudder. “Wait, have you been spying on me?” you ask in disgust.
“Oh, don’t make it sound so perverse,” he chastises you. “I like to keep an eye on my brother,” he says hesitantly, as if he isn’t sure he should be admitting this to you.
“Then why would you come here if you didn’t want to be found?” It doesn’t make any sense to you.
He casts his eyes to the floor. Then you remember something Clint had once said to you, about Loki’s projections of himself.
“You’re… not really here, are you?” you ask quietly. You reach out to touch his hand and it flickers slightly, your fingers brushing nothing but air.
“I couldn’t risk it,” he says in response to the disappointed look on your face. “Besides, Thor doesn’t want to see me. He’s happy now,” he says, catching your gaze. “He has you.”
You smile thoughtfully.
“Family is important, Loki,” you say after a moment of silence. “And sometimes we don’t realise that until it’s too late.” Your voice is wistful, as you stare into the distance.
His face falls at your remark, it seems you caught him off guard.
“Our mother used to say something similar to that.”
Although you don’t know much about their mother, Thor had always spoken very highly of her and you knew they both loved her very much.
“Whenever Thor and I would fight, she would say that one day we’d be all each other would have left. As usual, she was right.” he looks off in the direction you are staring.
The pair of you stay quiet for a little while, then you speak up.
“Look, Loki, after all this time you’ve still kept an eye on Thor, obviously because you care for him a great deal. And he misses you, he really does, I can tell. Why don’t you just come back to the compound with me? See him,” you suggest. Loki looks startled by the idea.
“Absolutely not,” he scoffs. “No.”
“It’s ok, I get it. You’re scared about seeing him, but I-”
“I am not scared,” he cuts in stubbornly and you have to fight the urge to roll your eyes at him.
“Well, how about you think on it?” You suggest, and then you have an idea. “Hey, I know! Come for Christmas!” you say excitedly. You see the look on Loki’s face and dial your enthusiasm back a notch. “You could join us at the compound on Christmas day, I’m sure Thor would love that.”
Loki continues to shake his head.
“Nobody wants me there, Y/N,” he says plainly. You see the hurt in his eyes.
“Thor does. And if he does, so do I.”
He gives you a doubtful look in return.
“Don’t worry about the others,” you say, “ I’ll handle them.” He says nothing, so you figure you’ve probably said enough.
You’re starting to resign yourself to the fact that you’ll never be able to reunite Thor with his brother.
“It was really nice to meet you Loki,” you say genuinely, standing up from the bench, “but if you’ll excuse me, I have to go panic-buy a snake.”
He gives a small laugh and smiles.
“You know, my brother is a lucky man.” The corners of your mouth twitch upwards at the compliment. It’s funny, you never expected you’d be having a conversation with Loki, let alone that it would shape out like this.
“Just, please, promise me you’ll think about my offer,” you say, straightening out your coat.
He doesn’t say anything but smiles and politely bows his head to you in a final goodbye. You cross the road to get back to the shop and once you’ve made the short walk to the other side, you turn back to look at the bench you had left Loki standing in front of, but he is gone.

Bucky x f reader, avengers x reader (platonic)
First comes love, them comes marriage, then comes baby, then comes another wedding because everyone missed your first secret one. To my love that requested this, I hope you enjoy it, I may come back to revise this and more parts are coming!
Part 1 Part 2
Warnings: FLUFFFF, Illusions to smut
Word count: 2.8k
“You both look so beautiful!” Wanda and Nat gushed, looking at the few pictures you had from your wedding; just you and Bucky by the lakeside, the sunset casting a warm glow on both of you. Your arms were draped around his shoulders, smiling at the camera while he was completely focused on you, holding you close to him. You bounced little Stevie on your lap, smiling at the way he giggled, playing with his dad’s dog tags that clung around your neck.
“You’re having another wedding” Tony stated matter of factly, sauntering into the living room, ruffling the baby’s hair while scrolling through his phone.  You scrunched your faced in confusion, while Tony shrugged like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“Well everyone missed the actual wedding, so we’ve already discussed it. I’ve already called the florists, Peppers handling catering, everything’s being taken care of, all you have to do is go shopping for a dress with Nat and Wanda. I’m going to go find your husband now”
“But-
“No thank you”
“No thank you?”
“Yeah, no thank you for any excuses you try to come up with” Tony sassed, plucking baby Barnes from you arms, carrying him out of the room “C’mon little man, we need to get you a tiny suit to match with daddy”
“I can wear the dress I have Tony!” You called after him, only to have him flip you the bird. You giggled, gasping when Nat and Wanda grabbed you, dragging you to go dress shopping.
“Come on, we missed out on picking a dress the first time, don’t take this away from us” Nat rolled her eyes, shoving you out the compound doors and into the car with Wanda jumping in behind you.
“One condition, I get a new dress, only if you both get dresses to be my brides maids”
It was very likely the whole compound heard your collective shrieks as you drove off.
Tony walked into the gym, your son tucked happily in his arms, making his way over to where Bucky, Steve and Sam were training.
“You stole my son again?” Bucky smirked, putting down the weights he was curling to take his son in his arms. He loved the way his little one would nuzzle his face into his neck, just like you did when you cuddled up with him, his tiny hands trying to cling onto him.
“We’re having a wedding”
“Who’s having a wedding”
“You”
Bucky cocked a confused eyebrow while Steve took his god son, tickling his chubby belly, making him squeal in delight.
“Yup. You and y/n got to have your cute little wedding with just the two of you without the most special and important people in your life” Bucky snorted rolling his eyes while Tony continued, “This one is for the rest of us”
“Tony’s right, we missed out. You owe us a wedding cyborg” Sam shook his head, still salty you and Bucky got married right in Louisiana.
Bucky chuckled, watching Steve nod in agreement. While it was one of the happiest days of his life, he did always regret not being able to have the team there on your special day. Bucky’s heart fluttered, remembering there would be another tiny special guest attending this time round.
“Does y/n know about this?”
“Yup, she’s off shopping with Nat and Wanda. Now give me tiny terminator so you can figure out your suit situation, leave the rest to me”
The wedding dress consultant had handed you around a pile dresses to try on, all different styles so you could pick the one you like. You grabbed a dress that caught your eye, adding it to your pile.
“What do we think of this one?” You came out in a simple ball gown, twirling so the two red heads could get the full look.
“I’m not feeling this one” Wanda scrunched her nose while Nat nodded. “It’s too poufy”
You giggled, stepping back into the change room, slipping on the next dress.
“Too lacy”
“Next”
“Why does it have feathers, next”
15 dresses later
You slipped on the final dress you picked. The beautiful cream tulle material fell perfectly around your waist, with lace flower appliqués that covered the bodice. You loved the sweetheart neckline and sheer lace sleeves. The dress sat off your shoulders, highlighting your collarbones.  It was perfect.
Wanda and Nat gasped, their eyes immediately brimming with tears as you stepped out of the room.
“I think this is it” You smiled, your own eyes glassy as you gave them a spin before looking in the mirror.
“This is it, this is the one!!” Wanda jumped up and down with Nat, jumping on your for a bone crushing hug.
“It’s beautiful” The consultant agreed, adding a veil on top for you to see the completed look. You bit your lip nervously for a moment, realizing you hadn’t checked the price tag when you grabbed the dress.  You changed back into your clothes; unable to find a price tag anywhere, as you nervously approached the register.
“H-how much is it?” You asked hesitantly, while Nat and Wanda quickly scampered away from the register, wandering off to find bridesmaid dresses.
“It’s already been paid for” The cashier smiled, packing your dress and veil into a garment bag.
“Please tell me you two didn’t pay for the dress” You shook your head while Nat shrugged innocently, holding a dress up to herself.
“What do you think, what’s your color scheme by the way?”
“Don’t change the sub-
“Shut up and pick a color so we can try on dresses!” Wanda huffed, her arms full with satin and silks with every color imaginable.
“Fine, I’ll let it go for now. Maybe something dark blue?” You loved the satin navy dress Wanda had on top of her pile, picking it up and holding it against her “I really like this one”
Nat grabbed a matching one, dragging Wanda into the change room. Your heart was so full, being able to have your best friends there for your wedding. You had one more thing you had to get sorted out and it’d all be perfect.
***
“I get to have my best man this time” Bucky smiled at Steve, the two super soldiers shuffling through suits, hoping to find something that would fit.
“Excuse me?” Sam huffed, stepping out in a shirt that was a tad too tight.
“Sorry, best men” Bucky snorted, rolling his eyes. It was true though, Sam was just as important to him as Steve. He would never in his life ever tell him that unless he was dying.
“Can’t believe you’re married punk” Steve shook his head, getting unexpectedly emotional again. Bucky had always talked about getting married, buying a house, having a kid or two after the war. He didn’t think he’d get to see his best friend marry the girl of his dreams, let alone be the God father of their son.
The 3 men continued to look through options while the owner of the store eyed them curiously, his eyes widening when he recognized them.
“You-you’re-
The man pointed to his metal hand, eyes wide. Bucky swallowed thickly, he should have been used to it by now. Being recognized as the Winter Solider, having insults hurled at him, being asked to leave. It happened all the time but it hurt the same. Steve was ready to step in until the man continued.
“You’re Sergeant Barnes, I can’t believe it. You’re here. In my store. Can I get a picture?! My son will be so excited”
Bucky nodded, still dumbfounded the man was excited, not scared to see him. The man pulled his phone out, taking a number of pictures with Bucky, then Steve and Sam before showing them a picture of his son. The little boy had a large grin on his face, his prosthetic arm holding a Bucky Barnes action figure.
“He lost his arm in an accident. He loves all the avengers but you’re his hero. He wants to help and save others, just like you”
Bucky had never been considered a hero. People didn’t associate the word help and save with him. He hadn’t said it out loud but he always worried about his son growing up in a world where his father was only known as a killer. Until now.
“Whatever you gentlemen are shopping for, it’s on me. We’re limited in sizes but we can tailor what you need and have it sent over right away”
“Our Sergeant is getting married” Sam grinned, “Question. Can you make the same thing you’re making for him but extra tiny?”
***
The last thing you had left to do. You walked into Tony’s lab, your heart racing a little. You knew he wouldn’t say no but you were nervous anyway. He was busy making adjustments to his helmet, while you tip toed over to him.
“I have a favour to ask” You shuffled on your feet, looking around the room, not meeting his eyes.
“If you’re having another super soldier baby, I’ll need a weeks’ notice” Tony snickered, curiously eyeing your hesitancy.
“Oh my God, no! I was wondering, will- will you walk me down the aisle?”
***
Tony hadn’t overlooked a thing, the entire compound was decorated in flowers, silk and lace ribbon, chairs had been set up outside in the garden. A large wall of flowers stood at the end of the aisle.
“You look beautiful, you ready?”
You took a deep breath, nodding, linking your arm with Tony as he walked you down the aisle. You could already feel your eyes glisten with tears seeing your husband waiting for you with Steve behind him and your little one matching with his dad, happily sitting in Sam’s arms. Nat and Wanda were practically bouncing on their heels, thankful they decided on waterproof mascara.
Bucky blinked back tears watching you walk towards him. He didn’t think it would be possible for you to look better than the first time, yet here you were. You were so angelic. The beautiful mother of his child. His everything. He would have a thousand weddings, to see you like this, to tell you how much he loved and cherished you.
“I believe you’ve both written your own vows” The officiant smiled at both of you, while you were lost in each other, your hearts fluttering. Bucky nodded, holding your hands firmly in his, swallowing the lump in his throat before speaking softly to you, just for you to hear.
“My angel. You’ve loved me unconditionally. You have given me everything I’ve dreamt of and more. You are the sweetest little mama to our son. I don’t know what I did to get so lucky, but now that I have you, I will always love you, hold you and comfort you. I’ll buy you all your favorite snacks when you’re grumpy. I’ll let you steal all my hoodies. I’ll always protect you and our little one, you’re both my world. I’ll tell you a thousand times over, I love you y/n”
You took a few deep breaths, tears streaming down your face, squeezing his hand before you spoke.
“My baby, you are the sweetest most caring person I have ever met. You’ve protected me and kept me safe in your arms whenever I’m with you. You are the best daddy to Steve, and the most affectionate husband to me. No one else keeps me warm like you do; I could spend forever wrapped in you. I’ll let you be the little spoon when you’re grumpy, I’ll always let you fall asleep in my arms, I want to wake up by your side every morning and I will always love you and protect you with my entire being. I love you James”
Bucky sniffled, biting his lip to keep it from trembling, tears freely spilling down his cheeks as he moved his hands to hold your waist, holding you closer to him. Your hands rested on his chest, looking up at his handsome face, you had no idea how you got so lucky.
The rest of the team watched with steamy eyes, and soft sniffles aside from Steve, who hiccupped and choked on his sobs, having heard everything with his enhanced hearing.
“James Buchanan Barnes, do you take y/n y/l/n to be your wedded wife?”
“I do. Always”
y/n y/l/n, do you take James Buchanan Barnes to be your wedded husband?”
“I do, forever”
“I now pronounce y-
Bucky didn’t waste a second waiting for the officiant, one hand cupping your cheek, the other on your waist, pulling you in for the most loving kiss. Your arms clung around his shoulders, lips moving softly with his, the cheers and clapping behind you nothing but white noise. All you could see in that moment was him. All he could see was you.
***
Fairly lights were strung around the trees, the night sky dusted with stars as you both swayed together on the dance floor. Bucky held you close to him, sneaking little kisses whenever he could, the night was everything he could have possibly dreamed of. His lips brushed your ear as he nuzzled his face into the crook of your neck.
“You know what I want to do now, Mrs. Barnes?” Bucky smirked, nipping your neck, gently kissing the area after.
“What’s that Mr. Barnes?”
“Mm, I want you out of this sweet dress and on our bed baby. I want it all, I want to fuck you until your crying and then make love to my beautiful wife for hours until the sun comes up”
“James!” You hissed, burying your face in his chest, your face heating up. He was utterly insatiable but so were you.
“What pretty baby, you don’t want me to fill you up nice?”
“Hmm, I do, want my husband’s cock to wreck me, wanna make a mess all over him, till his cock is empty, I want to be so full with your cum baby”
“God, they’re fucking adorable, who would have thought” Wanda watched you two with heart eyes, blushing herself every time Bucky pecked a kiss on you, holding you so close to him as if you’d disappear.
“Marriage looks good on him” Clint smiled softly, watching Bucky spin you, pulling you flush against him again, whispering in your ear, making you giggle.
“Judging by how red your face is, I’m guessing you can hear what they’re saying” Nat snorted, watching Steve look at you both with wide eyes, his face going redder by the second. Steve nodded, chuckling while he bounced the little one on his lap.
“Looks like you’ll have to bunk with one of us tonight little man; mommy and daddy are going to keep the whole compound awake”
“I added extra sound proofing to their room for a reason, and it wasn’t because of the baby” Tony smirked, truthfully unbothered by colourful noises but for everyone else’s sake, he reinforced your entire floor.
“Don’t be a baby hog, let me play with my nephew” Sam took your son into his arms, chuckling when he babbled, trying to grab Thor’s hammer that was sitting on the table.
“Whatcha doing there little man- Oh my god!”
Stevie reached for the hammer, grabbing the handle with his tiny hands, managing to pull it closer to him, squealing while the rest of the team gasped at the baby super soldier.
“I-
“Did he just-
“Stevie?!”
“What the hell does this mean?!”
“Language”
“It appears our worthy little Steve jr. here has his father’s strength early on” Thor grinned, taking your son in his giant hands, tossing him in the air. “Impressive for something so tiny, perhaps we’ll make you a mini hammer”
You watched the team from the dance floor, smiling softly at them as they took turns passing your son around, kissing him and cradling him, while sneaking glances at you and Bucky. You couldn’t have asked for a better night. You couldn’t ask for a better family.
***
“Steve you don’t have t-
“Shut up punk, I heard you when you were dancing with y/n” Steve gave Bucky a pointed look, his face blushing again, rocking your baby who was fast asleep in his arms. “Go to your wife, he’ll be fine with me”
Bucky grinned, giving his son a quick kiss on the forehead, before returning to his floor, his pants growing increasingly more uncomfortable by the second.
“Little Steve is going to be with big Steve tonight” Bucky snorted, immediately silenced when he saw you waiting for him in bed. You were spread out in your delicate wedding lingerie, the soft lacy material left nothing to the imagination.
Bucky couldn’t tell if he wants to rip it off you into shreds or keep it on you all night. You looked deliciously seductive and innocent, his brain was short circuiting. He’d always loved your boobs but the way they looked in the white lace, your nipples slightly visible through the material, he wasn’t going to have any self control.
“Fucking hell Mrs. Barnes…”
Bucky stayed frozen on the spot, swallowing thickly while you blinked innocently at him with a devilish smirk on your lips.
“Well, it’s our wedding night, come here Sergeant”

𝓟𝓻𝓸𝓵𝓸𝓰𝓾𝓮
In which, you, a lady of the ton, are forced to participate in courting season. Except that courting season comes with one particularly silver tongued Prince who is making it his mission to drive you absolutely insane.

There came a time in every young lady's life when she entered the courting season when it was her duty to impress the men of society to secure a husband and a stable future. Some married up and became ladies of the court; others married for economic comfort, and in the rare case, some married for love.
You never entertained the idea, of course.
You would’ve been perfectly content living with your cat and watching out for your family for the rest of your existence. The eligible bachelors were rather dull anyway. You preferred a good book (your grandmother will never be able to find out that you read the naughty ones).
Life wasn’t your friend, though, and it seemed that Hell's doorway was approaching much quicker than you hoped as you sat on the settee staring at your grandmother.
“What do you mean I am to be participating?” You exclaim your hands, brunching up the fabric of your skirt. Your grandmother, in all her glory, didn’t even bat an eye as she raised a cup of tea to her lips.
“You will be introduced to society, and hopefully, we’ll have you married by the end of the season.”
“But why? Ivy is fully capable of carrying on the family name,” you scoff, naming your older sister, who (while kind) was a bit flighty.
“Ivy has gone through two seasons and has yet to attract anyone, and I’m not getting younger.” Your grandmother stressed the syllables on Ivy, looking at you with her lips pursed. To be frank, your grandmother was an intimidating woman. She demanded respect and had high expectations. Not every day do you see someone on equal footing as the queen.
“So you think I’m the best option?”
“No, I think your ideas of grandeur are terrible,” Grandmother huffed. “But, you’re pretty, and some man out there will like a woman with a sharp tongue. So I think you’re our best shot.”
Getting up with a sigh, your grandmother smoothed the folds of her dress and peered down her nose at you. You felt your jaw clenched as you sucked in all the curse words you felt like throwing at her.
“Find a husband or else.”
Yep, this was Hell.

Loki Laufeyson x Female!SHIELD Agent!Reader: Burdened with Glorious Sacrifices
Tumblr media
Summary: Loki is burdened with many things, but luckily, you aren’t one those burdens.
Rating/Warnings: All (Post-Avengers (2012); canon divergence Post-Avengers (2012); not canon compliant; fangirls; fanboys; Helicarrier; SHEILD Agent!Reader; Lab assistant!Reader; fluff)
Requester: Anonymous
Tag List: @imaginesfire
Request: “Can I request one where random SHIELD agents flirt with Loki but he shows no interest in them cause he fell for a shy lab assistant instead? Everyone was surprised cause they expected him to go for someone stronger and more confident but Loki likes the idea of being the big protector and having some [sic] rely on his strength. He adores her shyness and tender heart and treats her like a princess."
Notes: A request long, long, long in the making. Goodness, I think it's been over two years since this anonymous person asked for this. It's not a terribly interesting interpretation of the request. They can't all be. But I feel that it meets the requirements, and I'm ready to move on to the rather more...colorful Loki request on my list—and put a dent in my expansive request list. If you're the person that asked me for this all those months ago, I hope you enjoy this!
Burdened with Glorious Sacrifices
At long, long, long last, you found yourself in the midst of a moment of perfect quiet. No Klaxons blaring, no unit head barking orders, no rock music pounding fit to shake the walls. Such moments were hard to come by on the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. Coworkers and bosses alike expected a lot of even a lowly laboratory assistant such as yourself. Go here; pick up this; learn to shoot that. Things had only gotten worse since the start of the Avengers Initiative, too. So when you finally had your usual lab to yourself, was it any wonder that you jumped at the chance to spend some alone time with the Hulk blood sample that had been sitting inside the Stark Industries-powered fridge all week?
"So that's how that works," you murmured to the empty room.
You hardly dared to remove your eye from the microscope long enough to scrawl down a few lines of notes. Someone else might shatter your solitude at any minute, wresting the instrument from you or demanding an errand that would pull you away from the sample. The Avengers were all onboard that day, true—something that went a long way in explaining the vacancy of your typically bustling workstation—but if Director Fury got it in his head that something needed done right away, the presence of superheroes wouldn't prevent someone interrupting you to take care of whatever it was Fury demand. You wanted to take advantage of being without company for as long as possible.
"Agent [L Name]," said a woman behind you.
Only your several years of (generally useless) field training prevented you from shrieking at this sudden invasion of your quiet time. Unfortunately, said training did not prevent you from sucking in a breath and turning on the spot.
Maria Hill rolled her eyes at your behavior. Your cheeks grew hot as she uncrossed arms and made her way over to your lab table.
"Yes, Commander?" you asked weakly.
Her stern expression didn't shift. "You're needed on the bridge."
Well, that couldn't be good. Lab assistants, as a rule, didn't get called to the bridge. They especially did not get called to the bridge in person by S.H.I.E.L.D.'s second-in-command. You licked your lips at the thought of just why anyone up there might want to see you, then asked:
"You came up here to tell me that? Why didn't you just use the intercom?"
"I did."
Clearly, your play for time wasn't about to earn you any points with Maria. You gulped and went on in a rush, "I really can't come to the bridge right this very minute, Commander. I just got to work on this sample. Would it be all right if I came up when I'm finished? It shouldn't be more than an hour."
Oh, who were you kidding? You weren't going to get out of trouble that way. No one had told you to look at the blood to begin with. All you'd likely managed with that stunt would be making Maria extra angry for not asking her how high when she said jump.
To your very great surprise, however, she narrowed her eyes at you for a mere handful of seconds before she turned to leave.
"Fine," she said.
"Fine?"
"Fine." She paused at the door to throw a very characteristic look at you over her shoulder. "But I can't guarantee that he'll still be in one piece when you get there."
"He? Who's he?"
"Your boyfriend. It's his check-in day. Don't tell me you forgot."
Your heart squeezed painfully in your chest. In the midst of your excitement to find yourself alone at work for once, you had entirely forgotten about the one day a month you could easily (and legally) see Loki. That Maria herself had come searching for you to attend to something regarding him could only be bad news. Before she could make it to the lift down the hallway, you put all your equipment and the blood sample away at a speed that might have got you mistaken for an Enhanced. Then you hurried after her to step inside the elevator before the doors closed.
Maria said nothing. Her pursed lips told you everything. Even if you'd had the wits about you to ask what Loki had done this time, you probably wouldn't have. What if you didn't like the answer? Taking a cue from her lack of small talk, you stared at the vertical crack in front of you so hard that your eyes began to water.
The doors opened seconds later. Maria unwound her crossed arms long enough to motion for you to step outside ahead of her. You could already hear a commotion coming from closer to the control point in the center of the bridge. Several voices spoke over each other in what sounded like excited—not terrified—tones, but you couldn't quite hear what they were saying well enough to confirm everyone's mood. Fury wouldn't call you in to stop a fight (not when he could get the satisfaction of seeing Captain America smash Loki's nose in with his shield), but Maria? Maria just might get more satisfaction out of seeing one of your coworkers smash your nose in instead.
You left the lift with your pulse pounding, though you did keep your arms from shaking at least. It took quite a bit of effort on your part to keep your eyes wide open as the bridge came into view. Bright afternoon sky blazed through the many windows. No dark figure stood at the controls, however. Fury must have had better things to do than referee whatever was going on.
And soon you spotted exactly what that was. One of the computer stations had drawn a crowd. A good six or seven S.H.I.E.L.D. agents dressed in familiar navy uniforms stood talking eagerly over one another. Fury had recently blocked all copies of Galaga on the organization computers, and last you'd heard, Mr. Stark hadn't come up with a way around it yet. Nobody was clustered around Cameron to watch him beat his latest high score, then.
Then you saw who the crowd was talking to. Just why Maria had called you up on Loki's check-in day became clear at once. A tall, dark-haired man with hollow cheeks stood at the center of the cluster of agents. A thick collar wrapped around his neck, and gleaming gold shackles kept his wrists firmly pulled toward the desk in front of him. As usual, Loki managed to look completely unbothered by such instruments as he smiled sardonically at the people surrounding him.
"Poor thing," you heard a woman say as you drew closer. "It can't be comfortable standing like that for hours on end."
"You've been waiting there for a long time, man. Are you thirsty? I could bring you some tea," said a man.
"Forget that! I brought grapes in my lunch. I could feed them to you one by one," said a second woman.
"Now, now," Loki purred. "You may all bring your offerings to me."
An excited murmur rose from the group as Loki’s green eyes swept across it.
“You.” He gestured as best he could with his hands restrained as they were. "Run along and retrieve those grapes. My beloved brother did not allow me to partake in breakfast before he insisted we traverse the realms, and who knows when he'll be back to retrieve me for lunch?"
A short-statured woman broke away to trot off in the direction of the nearest break room. She wore a glowing expression, and she did not stop to speak with you as she passed. The rest of the waiting agents resumed their fussing at once.
"He really shouldn't leave you chained like this."
"What if the Helicarrier falls out of the sky and you can't get out?"
"We could lose engine power again at any minute!"
"Truly," Loki bowed his head. "But then, Thor never has thought much about my well-being. It all started when I was about seventy years old..."
At last, you thought you were close enough to be heard without raising your voice. "Loki?"
His mouth snapped shut mid-sentence. The onlookers leaned in eagerly, waiting to hear the rest of his tale. Loki, however, looked over in your direction the moment he'd gathered his thoughts.
"[Name]!" he said.
The obvious delight in his tone caught his audience's attention. Every single person's head snapped toward you in unison—and not a single expression appeared happy.
You gulped.
"Ladies, gentlemen, and nonbinary beings," Loki announced, "Agent [L Name]!"
All your coworkers continued to stare at you wordlessly. You could feel Maria doing the exact same thing behind you. Probably her idea of calling you up here had not involved giving Loki a better opportunity to show off. Thank God Fury seemed to be elsewhere that day. He would have already thrown the both of you into the newly repaired Hulk cell.
"Hi," you said uncomfortably.
"What are you doing here? I thought you'd be busy with work," said Loki.
Before you could answer, one of the men said, "yeah, [L Name]. What are you doing on the bridge? Don't you belong downstairs where you won't get in the way?"
If he could have seen Loki's expression growing colder and colder, that agent probably wouldn't have finished his sentence. As it was, the ice in Loki's genes was apparent as he said, "you will address her as Agent [L Name] until such a time as she requests you do otherwise."
The man looked as though he'd been slapped.
"So [Name]?" Loki turned the full force of his smile on you. "Why have you deigned to grace this vessel's bridge with your presence?"
"Commander Hill came and got me." You took a deep breath before plunging on: "She wanted me to come break this up. You're all causing a scene."
"A scene?" Now one of the women spoke up, indignant.
"We were all just talking until you barged in," said another.
"Why would Hill bother asking you to break up anything?" asked a man.
"What are you supposed to do to make us leave?"
"You're only a lab assistant."
"You can't even use your I.C.E.R. properly."
"Not to mention that all of us outrank you!"
Over and over and over they beat you with their words. You struggled to stand up straight under the full force of them. What could you say to defend yourself? They were right, each and every one of them. If only Loki hadn't been there to hear it. Maybe you didn't hang your head; maybe you didn't even flinch. But your lower lip trembled, and you knew that the moment Loki spotted that, he'd lose interest in you on the spot. Princes from other realms—even princes currently under galactic house arrest—didn't date girls so easily cowed by their peers.
“Silence!”
This voice belonged to Loki, and so people did, in fact, fall silent. Even the woman before, returning clutching a bag of red grapes, didn’t voice her obvious confusion. One by one, each of the agents present turned their attention back to him. But a smile no longer grace his narrow features. He stood at his tallest, head up to gaze down his nose at those surrounding him with undisguised scorn.
“I warn the lot of you to not insult the love of my considerably long life,” he said. “After all, your lives working for such a sloppily led organization will certainly be cut so short that none of you will be capable of so much as grasping what such a love entails. That [Name] has selected a more reasonable assignment does not make her lesser. In fact, I should think her career choice proves her vastly more intelligent that the standard-issue SHIELD agent that you all proclaim to be.”
You bit your lower lip, bracing yourself for another round of mockery.
One never came. Many grumbles did, as well as dark backward looks, but no one said a word as the group slowly dispersed. The woman with the grapes left without further comment herself.
Then you found yourself alone with Loki at last. When you finally gathered enough courage to face him, you found his frosty demeanor gone. In its place was a warm smile.
“Are you all right?” he asked gently.
What could you do in response to that besides hurry over to hug him?
“Thank you,” murmured into his neck.
“For what?”
“Saying all those nice things about me.”
“For once,” Loki said as you lifted your head to smile at him, “I only spoke the truth.”
Most people claimed Thor to be the most princely of the Asgardian brothers, but when Loki said things like that, you couldn’t imagine that was true. Loki’s charm struck you speechless. Thankfully, he didn’t seem to expect an answer from you on this occasion.
“Would you do me the honor of joining me for lunch?” he asked.
Your heart soared. “I’d love to.”
“Good. I’ll need feeding, seeing as you chased off my potential servant.”
Was he joking? With Loki, it was hard to tell. You decided to assume he was in this case. Chuckling, you stood on your toes to give him a swift kiss.
“I’ll be back in an hour,” you told him.
“I’ll be waiting, my princess. Unless, of course, Thor happens to remember where he left me before then.”
“Tell him to wait until we’re done with lunch. You need sustenance. I love you,” you added as you turned to leave.
“I love you as well.”
You shot him an enormous grin before you walked back to the lift. Several of the agents stationed nearby rapidly looked away from you and back at their screens as you passed. Maria remained exactly where you’d last seen her only long enough to roll her eyes. After that, she went to stand in Fury’s usual position on the bridge, and pretended as though she didn't see you hurrying back to your post.
Did you care? Not at all. Let them stare. Let them gossip. Though you were hardly the bravest, strongest, or smartest agent S.H.I.E.L.D. had to offer, Loki had chosen you. He could have chosen anyone, any of those vastly more talented people willing to sacrifice just about anything for him. But when your eyes found him one last time before the elevator doors closed, you saw him smiling at you from across the room.
A love like that was even harder to come across than the peace and quiet you’d been trying to enjoy earlier that day. Thankfully, Maria had interrupted all that. If it came down to a choice between standing in the center of attention or hiding in your lab, when it came to Loki, you’d pick standing in the center of attention every single time.Post Work

The newlyweds were escorted out of the front of the arena to their awaiting carriage. It was open-air in style, gold exterior with plush green velveteen benches. Pulled by twin black mares dressed in gold. Loki held his wife’s train as she climbed in, then joined her by her side. Two footmen climbed onto the back, and the driver took the seat at the front.
“Ready to head back, Your Highnesses?”
“Lead the way, good man.” Loki smiled at the driver as he took up the reins.
Einherjar followed as the carriage pulled away. Next in the procession was the King’s coach, followed by His Lordship.
The visitors who did not fit in the arena were waiting just outside the gates. Loud cheers and applause followed them out to the forest. The couple waved and smiled at the crowds. Sigyn even blew kisses to the children they passed.
As they entered the forest, they got a short reprieve from the people. They settled back on the bench and twined their hands together.
“You took my breath away today,” Loki said as he held her chin in his hand, watching her fidelity swirl around her like a leaf caught in the wind.
“Do you like the dress? I had them change the neckline last minute. I love the way you look at me in off-the-shoulder gowns.”
“Am I so obvious?” Loki chuckled as he ran his fingers down the side of her neck, across her collarbone, and over her shoulder.
“The eyes do not lie.” She leaned over and kissed him.
“I love your dress, my sweet. I had to stop myself from falling to my knees when I saw you walking toward me.”
She put her hand on his chest and smiled widely. “I had to stop myself from sprinting to the altar; you looked so good standing there. My handsome husband. Please say you will let me braid your hair sometime?”
“I would enjoy that.”  He picked up her hand from his chest and kissed her on her ring.
“This ring is breathtaking. I love it so much.” She held out her hand to admire it.
“I am happy you like it.”
“I love it.” She kissed him sweetly on the lips. “Did you choose this yourself?”
“I did. But I did show it to your mother first. She seemed to think it was suitable.”
“She was right. I will never take it off.” She looked down at Loki’s flat gold band. “Were you hoping for something more… just more?”
“No, sweetling, this is perfect.” He traced his thumb over the smooth metal.
“Your hands are already so beautiful. I did not want your ring competing.”
“My hands are beautiful?” He chuckled.
“Oh, yes! So large,” she picked up his hand and held it up to hers, “Your hand makes mine look tiny. They are strong yet gentle when gentleness is called for. You move your hands with such fluidity and grace. It is mesmerizing.” She flipped his hand over and ran her fingers over his palm.
“The daggers you fight with do not leave callouses in the same manner that swords do, so your hands are soft on my skin. And these devious fingers… mmmm… I have had pleasant dreams about these long, agile fingers.” She placed his hand on the side of her face and nuzzled his palm.
He was about to offer to let her sit on his fingers when she looked at him with sweet eyes and asked how he was feeling today.
“I am much improved. No need to worry about me.” He leaned over and kissed her sweetly. Holding her head in his hand, he pulled back to look at her adoringly. “You are my wife.”
“I know! Finally.” She laughed, “I have been dreaming of this day since I was a small child.”
“I never thought I would have a wife.”
“That just proves that you do not know everything.” She wiggled her left hand at him, showing off her ringed finger.
“I know you love me,” he grinned at her.
“I do. I am madly in love with you. I love you so deeply it hurts.”
He cocked one eyebrow up at her. “Tell me where it hurts, kitten. Let me kiss it and make it better.”
She smacked his arm, “Behave. We are almost out of the forest.”
“Fine,” he laughed. “At least let me hold you until we are back in the public eye.”
She snuggled closer to his side, and he tucked her under his arm. Her tiara was poking him under his chin.
“Can we lose the regalia for a moment, Princess?”
“Okay. But only for a moment. I may sleep in it. I love it so much.”
“As long as it is the only thing you wear when you come to bed.”
Sigyn laughed as she held the delicate tiara in her lap. “Are you telling me I should not have spent a small fortune on new lingerie?”
“Hmmm… I think naked is better. But do wear all the pieces for me to try and change my mind.”
oOXOo
Bells were ringing in the capital as they made their way back to the palace. As they entered the palace gates, they smiled and waved to the citizens as they passed.
Loki helped Sigyn out of the carriage and made their way up the stone stairs to the courtyard. The gathered crowd started calling for a kiss.
“Should we give the people what they want?” Loki asked when they made it to the top of the steps.
“I think it would be in bad form not to.”
“Hold onto your tiara, my sweet.”
Before Sigyn could process what he had just said, Loki had her in his arms and was dipping her backward. Her hand flew to catch her tiara as his lips claimed hers. The crowd erupted. He broke the kiss and grinned at her.
“Stand me up this instant, Mischief.”
He gave her a quick peck on the lips, then swiftly pulled her up to standing. She adjusted her tiara and then pulled him down for another kiss. This one lingered. Slow and sultry.
“That was a proper kiss, Your Highness.” She breathed against his mouth as she pressed her forehead to his.
“Kiss me like that again, and I will take you right here on these stones.”
She let out a breathy laugh, “Promise?”
He gave her a low growl and pulled her hips against his, “Would you like that, kitten?” His voice was low and close to her ear, “Would you like for me to fuck you while all of Asgard watches?”
Heat instantly coursed through her entire body. A scarlet blush painted her neck and chest, and she let out a stuttered breath.
“Oh, you would, wouldn’t you?  Are you wet just thinking about it?” He ran his thumb over her bottom lip.
She swallowed thickly, “Maybe.”
“Have you participated in exhibitionism before? Or is it just something you read about in your naughty books?”
She shook her head, “No.” She licked her lips, “I am unfamiliar in both regards.”
“Oh, we are going to have so much fun together.” He kissed her forehead slowly before turning to watch as the King’s coach pulled into the roundabout.
Sigyn hadn’t even heard the coach approaching. She quickly tried to regain her composure as the King, Queen, and Crown Prince made their way to the stairs. Loki had a Cheshire grin on his face as Thor bounded up the steps two at a time. He pulled him into a firm bear hug.
“Congratulations, Baby Brother!”
“Easy on the ribs, please.” Loki managed to squeak out.
“Sorry.” He released him and held him by the shoulders. “You are a married man!” He shook his head, “I cannot believe it! And such a pretty wife.” He turned his attention to Sigyn.
She curtsied, “Thank you, Your Highness.”
“What are you doing, Princess?” He picked her up and twirled her, “You are my sister-by-law now. You do not have to curtsey to me any longer, and you may call me as Loki does.”
She smiled sweetly at him, “I appreciate that, but I would not feel comfortable calling you a big lumbering oaf.”
He let out a booming laugh, and Loki chuckled as he smiled proudly, “One hour as your wife, and she is already wielding your clever barbs.”
“Do not fault me, Brother. She has always been quick with a retort. She burned me the day of our betrothal, right here on this very spot. Do you remember that, darling?”
“Ah, yes. How could I forget? I met the man I was to marry for the first time, and he presented himself looking like something the cat coughed up and smelling of tavern whores. It was made worse when he stood here mute and slack-jawed in front of his people. He made himself an easy target.”
“I was overwhelmed by your beauty.”
“And I was overwhelmed by your breath.”
Thor howled with laughter, “He was retching his guts out moments before you met.”
“Well, it has all worked out, has it not?” She looked up at Loki with stars in her eyes. Her fidelity flared brightly, causing Thor’s fits of laughter to taper off.
Loki brought her hand to his lips and kissed it, “Better than I could have ever imagined.”
The trio bowed to the King and Queen as they reached the top of the stairs. Frigga moved straight to Sigyn, taking her head in her hands.
“Oh, my sweet daughter. What a joyous day!” She pulled her into a warm embrace. “I could not be happier that you are part of our family now.”
“Thank you, Your Majesty. I am so grateful to have been welcomed so warmly.”
“Please, call me Mother.” She pulled back to look at her with tears in her eyes.
oOXOo
The Royal family stood at the front entry of the palace and welcomed their esteemed guests as they arrived. Sigyn could not recall ever receiving so many hugs in her life. Loki had to lean over and tell her the names and titles of many of the guests. Aside from the Gods, Goddesses, and her own family and friends, most of the people attending the feast were Asgardian nobles, political allies of the King, or people Odin wanted to gain favor with. Sigyn had extensively studied Odin’s and Frigga’s family trees so she would not accidentally embarrass herself in front of her new family.
One of the wedding planners approached Sigyn from behind, “Excuse me, Your Highness?”
After a moment, Sigyn looked to Loki to see why he had not responded to her.
“She was talking to you, Princess,” Loki chuckled.
“Right.” She shook her head, embarrassed. “Yes?”
“Your parents have moved to a parlor to rest before the reception begins. I wanted to see if you would like to take this opportunity to rest your feet and keep them company for a little while.”
She looked to Loki, “Go, sweetling. There is no need for both of us to be here to greet these bloated sycophants.”
The man in front of Loki huffed in indignation.
“Not you, of course, Ambassador.” Loki shook his hand, “You are most welcome. Thank you for coming.”
The man and his wife went inside, and Loki rolled his eyes behind his back.
He turned back to Sigyn, “Please,” He kissed her forehead, “go see your parents. I will come to find you shortly.”
“Very well. My feet are killing me.” She pressed up to him and planted a kiss on his lips.
“We will be in the blue room, Your Highness, if you would like a respite yourself.”
Loki nodded in thanks and watched as Sigyn disappeared into the palace.
oOXOo
“Just through these doors, Your Highness.”
“Thank you.” Sigyn handed off her bouquet and made her way into the parlor.
Her father was sitting in a plush chair with his feet up on an ottoman, fingers laced over his belly, and his head resting on the back of the chair, eyes closed and mouth agape. Her mother had her shoes off and lounged across a sofa, her head propped on her hand.
At the sound of the door closing behind Sigyn, Lady Anderson looked up, startled. She quickly stood and bent into a deep curtsey.
“Mama, what are you doing? Stop that.” As Astrid righted herself, Sigyn rushed to her mother and put her hands on her shoulders.
“Protocol. You are a Princess, are you not?”
“Don't be silly,” Sigyn said with fresh tears in her eyes. “I am just your daughter. Same as I was this morning. Nothing has changed.”
“Of course, it has.” Her mother placed her hand on Sigyn’s cheek. “You may not have been born a Princess, but you are now, in name and title, a Princess. Married to a Prince and daughter-by-law to the King. Your husband is second in line to the throne. Gods forbid if some bad fortune fell upon Prince Thor before he produces heirs, Prince Loki would be crowned, and you would be Queen of Asgard. I am not telling you anything you do not already know, but you must accept that you will be treated differently. It may make you uncomfortable initially, but there is nothing wrong with expecting the respect your new title deserves.”
“Your mother is right.” Lord Anderson stood up from his chair and bowed to his daughter.
“Papa… Please… I am still just your little pumpkin, remember? I do not want that to change.” She was choking back tears as she went to him, and he pulled her into his arms.
“You will always be my little pumpkin in my heart.” He kissed the top of her head. “But you are a married woman now. You will seek your husband out when you need advice, guidance, or reassurance. You will turn to him when you are troubled. He is now the one responsible for your safety and comfort.” He patted her back and chuckled, “He will be the one to have to endure your tantrums when something does not go your way.”
Sigyn laughed through her tears, “I do not throw tantrums.”
“Regardless, yes, we are still your parents.” Her mother gathered Sigyn’s train and draped it over her arm.
“We will always love you with a ferocity that you will never fully understand until you have your own children. But I cannot treat you like Daddy’s little girl anymore. It is no longer my job to spoil you. You have always been My Princess. Now you are Asgard’s Princess. You must answer to your Royal titles and expect bows and curtsies from everyone, even me.” He rubbed her arms.
“Papa…”
She was unexpectedly mourning her childhood; even though she had been fully grown for ages, this transition into womanhood suddenly felt very abrupt. Even though she had been looking forward to this day since childhood, she was overcome by the realization that she would soon not see her parents every day.
She was sure she would get used to the bowing and curtsying and Royal titles, but the fact that her parents would be returning home in a few short weeks weighed her down more than she thought it would. She was missing them already.
“It is going to be okay. You do not need us anymore.” Her mother patted her back.
“That is not true. Do not say that. I will always need you.” She pulled both of her parents into a hug and cried.
“There, there, pumpkin.” Her father gave her his handkerchief, and she dried her eyes and nose. “If your new husband does his job right, you will be too busy to notice our absence.”
“Erik!”
“What? Our grandchildren are not just going to appear out of thin air. We cannot wish them into existence.”
“I know how it happens. That does not mean that I want to think about my daughter-”
“Enjoying it as much as you do?” The Lord grinned at his wife, watching her get flustered.
“Ahh, enough!” Sigyn’s mother started waving her hands about as if she were trying to shoo the thought from the air around her.
Sigyn clamped her fingers over her mouth and laughed as she watched her parents, “Gods, I am going to miss you two so much.”
When Loki found them a little later, they were all three snuggled on the sofa together, with Sigyn wedged between her parents like a small child, her head on her father’s shoulder as she dozed. Loki smiled as he watched the sweet scene, and then his heart sank; Sigyn looked as if she had been crying. Her cheeks were tear-stained, and her eyelids were pink and puffy.
Loki leaned over and gave the Lord a gentle shake. He opened his eyes and made to move, but Loki stopped him, “Please, do not disturb her. I just need to know if she is all right.” He whispered as he sat on the coffee table in front of him.
“She is fine, Your Highness.” Lord Anderson reassured him in hushed tones, “She just got a little overwhelmed thinking about us going home without her.”
“You know you are welcome to stay for as long as you wish. It has been wonderful having you here. I know my father has enjoyed your company greatly.”
“I have been enjoying my stay immensely but must return to the North. As you will come to learn, running that territory is like running a small kingdom, you never truly get time off.”
“I understand.” Loki reached over and stroked the top of Sigyn’s hand. She was clutching her tiara in her lap. “Did she get any sleep last night?”
“A fair bit. I convinced her to take a sleeping draught. It helped her fall asleep, but she was up before the sun. How about you? How did you manage?”
Loki chuckled, “My brother talked me into drinking with him last night. Sleep came to me easy, but it was very late before I had the heart to send him home.”
“It makes for a long day.” The Lord smiled at him.
Loki nodded and sat there thinking about how to bring up the next subject. “My Lord, I have not had the chance to talk to you since we returned from the hunting trip. I am sure you know by now that a false claim was leveled against me.”
“I heard it from a servant. At first, I was livid, as you can imagine. But Sigyn told me everything, and I… well, I am relieved everything worked out.”
“I just wanted you to know… what I am trying to say is…  I vowed to remain faithful to Sigyn. I did not make that vow lightly. My previous lifestyle is firmly behind me. I can assure you.”
Lord Anderson was thoughtful for a moment. “No one goes into a marriage with the intention of being unfaithful. We live very long lives, and you are still very young. Circumstances can change before you know it. You may find yourself called away to war for years on end…” He looked at his sleeping wife, “So far from everything you hold dear.” He took a deep breath and turned his attention back to Loki. “Do you understand what I am saying?”
“Yes, I believe I do.”
“I would ask that you vow to always be honest with my daughter. It is a far worse thing in a marriage to keep secrets. There is a line from a Midgardian poem that goes ‘To err is human; to forgive, divine’...”
“Alexander Pope, An Essay on Criticism, Part Two.” Loki stared at his hand as he twisted his wedding band around his finger. “Essentially, anyone can make a mistake. As a collective, we should aspire to show mercy and offer forgiveness.”
“Yes, that is exactly what I am saying. While I hope it never comes to this, know the truth may sting for a little while, but a lie will ache forever.”
“Thank you.” He nodded. “Yes, I can always promise to be honest with Sigyn. No matter the circumstance.”
“That’s a good man.”
Loki nodded. He kissed his first two fingers, then placed them lightly on Sigyn’s lips as she slept. She stirred momentarily before snuggling back into her father’s side. “It is almost time to head into the Great Hall.”
“How about you go splash some water on your face…” He nodded towards the bathroom door, “…and I will wake the ladies? Sigyn will wake up hungry. You do not want to be in striking distance.”
Loki chuckled, “Here,” He conjured a bowl of plump green grapes, “this might mitigate some of the damage.”
“Do you know how many fits and tantrums could have been avoided if I had that ability?”
“I can imagine.”
oOXOo
The Great Hall was magnificent—the same boughs of flower garlands from the amphitheater decorated every corner of the massive hall. Wisteria hung from the bottoms of the enormous chandeliers and every sconce along the walls. A string quartet perched on the balcony and played gentle music as the guests filed in.
The long tables were set in with the palace’s most elegant crockery. Crystal goblets glimmered in the flickering light put off by the ornate golden candelabras between the centerpieces' lush greenery. There was a lovely note from the bride and groom in each place setting. The entirety of the cavernous space gave off an air of elegance and enchantment.
A special modification to the dais had been constructed, creating a three-tiered bleacher effect from the top down in a truncated pyramid shape. The Royal family, the wedding party, and the members of the Æsir in attendance would sit at the tables along the middle and bottom rows. The top was a flat platform left empty apart from a single golden pedestal.
Once everyone was announced and seated, Odin started the feast. Loki handed off his crown for the night, relieved to be rid of it. Sigyn insisted on keeping hers on with a knowing smile as she turned down the offer to bring it to the vault with Loki’s.
The Great Hall was brimming with celebration. Toasts were made in honor of the bride and groom. Stories were shared. Wine, ale, and mead flowed. Hundreds of servants bustled about to ensure no cups remained empty for too long.
Loki was amazed that Sigyn had managed not to get a single crumb on her dress. She did not refuse any food offered to her as platter after platter was brought around. A wine glass dangled precariously from her fingers as she leaned back in her seat.
“Are you finished, or do you need me to run out and bring back another boar?” Loki teased her when she finally pushed her plate away.
A pretty, pink blush adorned her cheeks from the wine she had consumed, “Ah, my handsome husband, God of Jokes.” She leaned over and kissed him.
A loud cheer when up in the crowd. The men had started draining their cups every time the newlyweds were caught kissing. Sitting on the other side of their parents, Thor called over to his brother, drinking horn raised, “Join us, Brother!”
Loki laughed and gave him a dismissive little wave, “You go right on ahead without me. I would like to remember consummating this union tonight.”
Loki looked at his parents, who were between them, “Apologies, Mother.”
“No apologies needed,” she smiled. “You are a husband now. It is your duty.”
“Finally, a job you are actually qualified for.” Thor drained his mead.
Frigga patted Odin’s arm, “We had better get on with the next part before things get too out of hand.”
“I believe you are right.” The King motioned for Henrik and whispered close to his ear. He nodded in reply and set off again.
“Sigyn, dear, how are you feeling?”
“Oh, I feel wonderful, thank you.” She placed her hand high on Loki’s thigh and took another sip from her wine.
“Sigyn, dearest, the King would like to give you his gift now.”
“Oooh, I love presents.” She grinned back at her.
“No, not a present, dear. A gift.”
“Are they not one and the same?”
Henrik rushed back through and whispered something to the King. Odin nodded in response, and his assistant returned to his place along the wall.
“No, child. They are not one and the same.” The King gave her a knowing smile as he stood.
Sigyn suddenly regretted eating so much while her stomach started doing flips as a hush fell over the Great Hall.
“Tonight is a memorable night, indeed. Today we added a new member to my family. Asgard gained a Princess. We gather here tonight to celebrate the union of Loki and Sigyn. A time so joyous. A day already so memorable.”
The room filled with raucous cheers and applause.
Odin held out his hand to Sigyn. She looked at Loki; he was practically vibrating in his seat with excited energy. Frigga gave her an encouraging look, and Sigyn took the King’s hand as she rose from her seat. He led her up the few wooden steps to the platform above the dais.
Sigyn looked down at her parents. They were holding onto each other’s hands. Her father gave her a small smile as her mother chewed her bottom lip.
Odin held up his hand to hush the crowd. “But we have one more reason to celebrate tonight.
“The day I met Sigyn, I knew right away there was something exceptional in her. Now, anyone who has met Sigyn would say that there is something special about her. She is kind, intelligent, and beautiful. She has a warrior’s spirit and a loving heart.
“But I could see more than just what she allows people to see. I could see something much deeper.” He took her chin in his hand and looked at her. His eyes followed something Sigyn could not see.
“To most of you, you look at Sigyn’s face and see her beautiful green irises. As green as the emeralds mined on her father's ancestral lands. But if you could see past those jewel-toned eyes, as I can, you would see something far more beautiful and rare.
“When I first met Sigyn, these flashes were sporadic, and I thought that maybe what I saw was not permanent or weaker than I had first believed. But after I brought her here to meet my son, what I saw only grew brighter with each passing day.
“I am speaking, of course, of the virtuous element that every Æsir must possess.”
Lady Anderson’s hand flew to her mouth, her eyes wide with shock. Lord Anderson kept his face neutral but focused more intently on the King’s words.
Sigyn’s mind could not comprehend what she was hearing; she stared numbly down at her parents.
Murmurs of excitement rushed through the crowd as a tall, slender Goddess ascended to the platform. She was beautiful. Porcelain skin, cobalt blue eyes, and long honey-colored hair that flowed down her back and stopped past her bottom. A crown of flowers was resting on the top of her head, and a thin pink shawl draped over her elbows. She was barefoot and wore a long, sheer, ivory gown that left nothing to the imagination; there were no undergarments beneath.
A wicker basket was hanging from the crook of her arm. Nestled inside, resting on a bed of apple blossoms, was one single, shining golden apple.

Thor Odinson x Reader ~ Shopping Lists
Tumblr media
A/N: A cute plot idea provided by my lovely friend @drstrangefictions! I hope you guys enjoy. (Please note that this is supposed to take place roughly right after the first Avengers film in 2012.) I know I have been incredibly slow and inactive, and I apologize for that. A mix of writer’s block and a busy life are to blame. I will try to be more consistent, but I do not want to make any promises. Thank you to those of you who stick around and support my writing in spite of this.
Word Count: 2534
“Hi, welcome to Big Tony’s Supermarket, where prices are so cheap, it should be illegal.”
The day seems to pass too slowly for (Y/n) as she half-heartedly greets every customer who walks into the store and past her spot at the register. She cannot wait to finally leave her retail position behind to pursue her dream of becoming a chef, but unfortunately, she needs this current job until she can achieve her degree and experience before quitting—college is not cheap; while the job is nowhere near desirable, (Y/n) cannot bring herself to complain since her boss pays her quite well. The customers, however, often leave her very wary and uncomfortable. She often chalks it up to the shady neighborhood, but there is nothing she can do about it until the day she can afford to leave town.
One day, she tells herself, she will be able to afford to be jobless for a short period of time as she searches for a reputable restaurant willing to hire her as a chef. There is no way (Y/n) will ever settle for employment in the fast food industry. She has big dreams and refuses to ever go near cheap, greasy food with questionable ingredients. Creating dishes with real food is an art, and (Y/n) will not settle for anything less.
“Hi welcome to Bi-” In the middle of greeting another patron, (Y/n) finds herself tongue-tied and star-struck. The man who passes through the threshold of the automatic doors is nothing like any of her usual customers. Long blond hair whips around as he turns his head to scan the store, his striking blue eyes lighting up with delight once he notices her.
“Are you the keeper of this market?”
“Y-You’re Thor…” (Y/n) utters out in amazement. She never thought she would ever live the day to see a god standing before her, let alone speak to her. “And, umm…I just work here.”
“Then you are the perfect person to assist me,” Thor exclaims with a smile. “My teammates have requested that I purchase something for them. Could you help me, grocer?”
“S-sure thing! What do you need to purchase?”
“I do not recall.” A frown tugs at Thor’s lips as he struggles to recall what the Avengers had told him. He faintly remembers them shouting various things as they passed around a pencil and long sheet of paper. They handed him the paper and shooed him off before he could ask. “I believe they called it a ‘grocery list.’”
It takes every fiber of (Y/n) being to not laugh at the blond god. She realizes that Thor has probably not been on Earth long enough to understand the ways of life for humans, but she cannot help but find humor in his confusion.
“No, no,” she giggles softly. “A grocery list is what we use to write down the stuff we need to buy. Did they give you a piece of paper?”
“Ah, yes! Here it is.” Thor, who is dressed in a T-shirt and jeans, reaches into his pocket to fish out a crumpled ball of paper to hand to (Y/n). “Please decipher this page, grocer.”
Scanning the Avengers’ handwriting, (Y/n) tries her best to make sense of the list. A few items are incomprehensible, but given that she can read a majority of the list, she disregards the minor issue. She grabs a pen from the cubby below the register while beckoning Thor to follow her as she switches off her station’s green light. The god obediently trails with a spring in his step.
“Well, the first item on here is goat’s milk,” (Y/n) informs him, a pen pointing out the messy scribbles at the top of the paper. “For any dairy products, all you have to do is look for the number thirteen.”
Tumblr media
A week has passed since a visit from Thor and (Y/n) cannot keep her mind off of him. She tries to convince herself that she is merely infatuated by the idea of having been in the presence of a god, but a small part of her wonders if there is much more. Something about his innocence, his obliviousness, of human customs and ways of life—it attracts her like a moth to a flame.
Warmth suddenly floods (Y/n)’s cheeks, leaving her to pat them in an attempt to dispel the redness. Common sense tells her to disregard the butterflies in her chest; she had only met Thor for two hours that day, so it would be unreasonable to think of him as anything other than another customer.
The sliding of the automatic doors signals the entrance of a customer, so (Y/n) turns to greet them, only to see the one person, the god, who has been occupying her thoughts. Just like the week before, (Y/n)’s words are caught in her throat.
“Grocer! We meet again!”
“Oh,” she gasps, his exclamation having startled her out of her dazed state. “Hi, Thor. How are you today?”
“I am doing well. My team has tasked me with the weekly purchasing of their sustenance.” Thor hands over his list once again, a sheepish smile gracing his features as (Y/n) accepts the sheet with an open palm. “Stark has asked that I bring him a ‘can of sprayable cheese,’ but I am afraid I do not understand why or how curds of milk can be stored or dispensed in such a way.”
“Don’t worry. It’s not too difficult to find, though explaining it is much more complicated.”
“Very well. Please lead the way.”
Tumblr media
“Thor! Back so soon? I hope the list wasn’t too difficult for you,” Tony greets with an impish smile as the large god steps out of the tower’s elevator with multiple bags in hand.
“My journey to the indoor market was absolutely delightful. I was able to retrieve all that you asked without fail. The kind grocer has been aiding my search every time.”
“Wait, wait, wait. What grocer? I sent you to the supermarket, not a farmers market or wet market.”
Thor immediately deposits the bags of groceries on the counter top and goes into detail about the kindness of the female market employee who has been taking it upon herself to personally guide the thunder god throughout the store to pick out the items documented on his shopping list while also providing explanations for any particular items he was unfamiliar with.
“I shall gladly retrieve your weekly necessities without fail, Stark. I am graced with the grocer’s hospitality and beauty each visit. There is nothing she cannot find.”
“Oh really, huh? Nothing she can’t find…”
Once again, thoughts of the thunder god have invaded (Y/n)’s mind as she wanders into the back storage room of the store. This time, her mind begins to wonder what life would be like with Thor. She dreams of herself going on dates with him, sitting in a park with a basket of food, chatting the day away with her head resting on one of his broad shoulders.
The sudden clanging of a can hitting the tiled flooring brings (Y/n) back to the real world. She absentmindedly reaches for the fallen object, but when her hand fails to feel for the round can, she comes in contact with another hand.
Jerking her head up to chastise whoever was about to steal her runaway can she has yet to label with a price sticker when she is met with a friendly pair of blue eyes she has been acquainting herself with as of late.
“Good afternoon,” Thor greets cheerfully as he stands to his full height with the can in his grasp, forcing (Y/n) to rise as well. “I figured I could help you since you have that large box to carry as well. I did not mean to startle you.”
Rather than freezing up, this time, (Y/n) musters up the courage to take the can from Thor to return it to the box, picking it up as she walks the product over to its designated aisle with the thunder god trailing after her.
“How have you been, Thor? Anything exciting happen this week? Not everyone lives in a building with a handful of friends who are also superheroes,” (Y/n) comments without so much as a glance at Thor, too focused on her job of restocking the canned goods. While it doesn’t take very long, she wants to do her best to stay on her boss’ good side.
“Ah, yes. Barton and Stark were ecstatic to receive the haul of requested items. In fact, they were so excited for my trip this week that their laughter was like thunder as I walked away with their list.”
“Really? Well, I am done here, so may I see what you’re here for today?”
At first glance, the shopping list seems normal enough. The team of heroes wrote down grocery items such as vegetables, meats, milk, protein powder, fruits, and so forth—the standard, healthy muscle-building stuff. Yet, as (Y/n) reads further down the list, she suddenly understands the reason for the boisterous laughter Thor had described moments ago.
“What’s this last one, Thor? I can’t really read it.” “Oh! Barton had asked for the particles that fall off of pixies during flight.”
“Pixie dust?” (Y/n)’s eyebrows shoot up her forehead at the description Thor provides her, thus confirming a suspicion she did not want proven to be true. There is no way these human heroes are asking for a substance that is a byproduct of a supernatural creature’s flight activities. Surely this god is just pulling her leg. “Why wo-” “Yes! That is exactly what he asked of me.” Guess he is being serious. While she does not understand why the Avengers are sending Thor on a wild goose chase for magical pixie dust, (Y/n) is more than willing to play along if it means spending more time with him. “Right here at aisle eight.” Walking down to the row filled with shelves of confectioneries and snacks, (Y/n) leads Thor over to several boxes filled with colorful paper tubes. “Here you go: Pixy Stix. It doesn’t exactly come from pixies, but-”
“Perfect! Thank you, grocer.”
Tumblr media
For well over a month, (Y/n) has been receiving regular visits from Thor, who seeks her out for assistance with his teammates’ outrageous shopping list requests. Taking advantage of the fact that the thunder god is still learning the English language, the young woman opts to substitute some of the mythical items on the paper with obscure items—usually foods native to an obscure region in the world to keep the Avengers on their toes.
Now, as the register beeps continuously as she continuously passes items through the scanner, the nearby cart nearly filled to the brim, she takes a brief second to wonder how the blond thunder god is able to afford all the groceries; her eyes eventually find the black credit card with Tony Stark’s name on the bottom, reminding her of the true reason for his regular visits. She tells herself to get over the juvenile feelings she has been developing for someone who clearly has no interest in her.
Thor is just being polite.
Nothing more, nothing less.
She enjoys helping him, but her heart cannot help but yearn for more. It yearns to see the thunder god every day, to be able to openly express its feelings for him without the worry of rejection. For now, all she can do is placate her hunger for love by pushing aside her thoughts to focus on the task at hand: ringing up Thor’s purchases.
“So, I got most of the items on that list for you,” (Y/n) explains with a small smile, “but I’m afraid some of those things are just not available.”
“I do not understand.” Thor’s face drops as an expression of concern overtakes his smile. “Is it an essential item?”
“No, no, no.” Quick to reassure him, the woman waves her hand in objection while trying to contain the giggle bubbling up her throat. “Well, I mean, unless if you’re something along the lines of a stereotyped witch from popular culture, I doubt you’ll be able to find any yeti hair, griffin claws, or wendigo antlers. Those items are either mythical or fictional. I don’t want to pry, but I think the Avengers are pranking you.”
The look of disbelief and shock on Thor’s face is enough to make (Y/n)’s heart hurt for him. For a moment, she could visibly see the thoughts coursing through his mind.
The god did not deserve this.
“Why would they do that?”
She does not have an answer to that. If she had to guess, the newly formed team of heroes have chosen to haze their extraterrestrial teammate. While their long-standing prank seems pretty harmless, (Y/n) still worries. Thor seems to wear his heart on his sleeve, and put his full trust in his teammates. He must have taken the prank too seriously and felt hurt from being sent on a wild goose chase.
“It’s okay, though! It’s just a harmless joke. I’m honestly glad you come in every day. Getting to talk with you really makes me happy.”
A small smile creeps up on the god’s face upon hearing this. He enjoys spending time with (Y/n) too. So much so that the thought of it coming to an end saddens him.
“I do not wish to end our small discussions. Should you allow me to, I would love to escort you to a restaurant tonight for dinner.”
“Are you asking me out on a date, Thor,” (Y/n) asks shyly, a growing blush spreading across her warm cheeks.
“I am.”
Nodding happily with a bright smile, she accepts his proposition. A quick glance at the clock on the wall tells her she still has two hours before the end of her shift, so she relays this information to the blond god.
With a promise from Thor to return after dropping off the groceries at the tower, (Y/n) pushes through the remainder of her shift with a newfound source of energy.
Tumblr media
“So, how do you plan on paying for dinner tonight? I doubt you have a job here on Earth that’ll help cover the fees.” The air is chilly as the winds pick up around the young woman and her date. Much to her surprise, Thor had chosen to go to a high end restaurant not too far from her workplace; the price for just one appetizer alone costs more than her hourly salary, which leaves her wary. She is not petty enough to leave the bill all up to the god of thunder, but she simply cannot afford to pay for a full meal.
Glancing over her shoulder, (Y/n) is met with a cheeky smile and wink as Thor reaches into the pocket of his jeans, pulling out a small black card she has come to recognize.
“I decided that Tony Stark should at least treat us to this meal. Let us consider this as his reparation.”

i need a fic title
i'm writing a non-canon compliant version of Thor: The Dark World where instead of falling from the bifrost, Loki is kidnapped by the Black Order and brought to Thanos. The fic is about the reader being his childhood best friend and him having this huge confession of his feelings for her before he gets kidnapped, and then her dealing with him coming back at the beginning of TTDW (prison scene, etc.).
I had the idea back in 2020 and have been slowly writing it ever since then and I'm actually making some real headway lately, but I seriously can't think of a title. Any help would be much appreciated :)

Ultraviolence ~ loki l.
Tumblr media
Chapter One
Desc: You’re a psychiatrist for the Avengers focusing on PTSD and trauma rehabilitation. When Thor's estranged brother gets sentenced to live on earth till Odin sees fit, you find yourself with the job of helping Loki.
————— ୨୧ —————
"Mornin dez" Stark entered the compound's kitchen, immediately heading for the coffee pot as you drank out of your own cup.
"Good morning Anthony." You said irritatedly. Anthony always found a way to rub you the wrong way. No matter what is was, he always pissed you off. Maybe it was the whole big brother little sister relationship you two always had, or just both your sarcastic personalities bouncing off of each other.
"Dez !" Natasha, Your big sister, said running up to you with her wide, pearly, smile. You smiled giving her a big hug in return. One grumpy Yelena followed behind, snatching Anthony's fresh cup of coffee right out of his hand with a smile.
After escaping the red room, you dedicated your time to gaining your psychology degree and fighting crime with the fellow avengers. You had 'superpowers' yourself, probably the only reason you were an avenger in the first place. You acted as a team therapist, as well as specializing in trauma recovery. Today you began to help the dreaded assignment, or at least that's what everyone told you it would be like. You had never met Loki Laufeyson, but you were about to.
"You almost ready?" You snapped out of your trance, watching Fury walk through the door. Him, Anthony, Thor, and Bruce would be helping and supervising you throughout the project.
Loki had been commanded to stay on earth under the avengers custody until Odin, deemed it fit for him to return to his homeland. Thor visited daily, mostly coming back torqued after some argument they had.
"Mhm," you said, gulping the last bit of coffee you had left, grabbing your books, notepad, and pen.
As they all accompanied you down the eerily unoccupied hall; zero words were exchanged as you finally made it to the gods chambers.
Anthony pushed ahead of you all. After swiping a keycard, using his hand print, AND a retinal scan, the door let out a loud series of clicks. He quickly moved out of the way as Thor took lead, pushing the door open walking in unbothered. Anthony and fury followed, you being last in line. As you entered the room, Loki sat chained to an interrogation table. You sighed at the seemingly overprotective security. You had once been in his shoes, except instead of trying to take over a whole city you tried to assassinate the whole team.
This occurred right after you were freed from Dreykov's custody. You failed to believe your sisters were your sisters, and that the avengers had saved you. As you held your own sister cornered against the wall, she said your name. Not your number, not your code. She humanized you. For the first time in your life you heard your given name aloud.
"Does he really have to be chained to the table?" Your accent thick, shocking the man sitting across the table. Anthony rolled his eyes and laughed.
"While we're in here? Uh, yeah. When we leave do whatever floats your boat. Just remember I'm not cleaning up your bloody corpse." You rolled your eyes sitting at the seat already pulled out for you.
"Who's this?" Loki looked over at the three men. Anthony had already started to leave, done with the situation at hand.
"She's a—a friend, who wants to help you.." Thor stuttered out, clearly not good at coming up with something on the spot. Nick rolled his eyes as he crossed his arms impatiently.
Fury was hesitant to even entertain your idea of treating; or at least attempting to treat Laufeyson. He was a full case file waiting to be closed. Another relic in Shield's database.
"I've got it from here, I'll let you know when I want out." You laughed, ushering them along.
As the door clicked shut, you brought your hands out and allowed the magic to flow through your palms and to the cuffs.
"I'm letting you out. And remember these hands aren't just for unlocking cuffs." You smiled as he rolled his wrists, rubbing the faint lines they left with his opposite hand.
"So are you going to tell me what you are?" He snarked. You laughed under your breath, opening your note pad.
"I'm one of them, but I'm also a psychiatrist." You looked up from the yellow pages, staring right into his eyes. His face contorted through plenty emotions, before settling on one. Anger.
"I don't need a fucking psychiatrist." He spat through gritted teeth, anticipating you to be upset.
But you stayed content.
"No, but I'm sure I can help." You shrugged, continuing to remain eye contact. He rolled his eyes and stayed silent.
"Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?" Your brows furrowed, keeping that contact as you clicked your pen.
"I have a feeling your going to ask them anyways." He rolled his eyes, leaning back in his chair and crossing his arms.
You ignored that, letting a sigh escape from your lips.
"So, I have your file here, at least what we were able to obtain from your brother-"
"Adoptive, brother." He cut you off.
"Adoptive, brother," you sighed. "Is there anything you'd like to share before we go through your history?" Quite monotonously said.
"I'll correct you as we go." He replied slouching back in his seat.
After about an hour of back and forth about what Thor had said and Lokis take on it, you finally had your notepad full. But, you hadn't got to current events just yet. You could feel his knee bouncing faster and faster as you neared the present.
"If you wish to stop at anytime please tell me. The only way I can truly help you is if your honest with me, and trust me." You hadn't even bothered bringing Odin up; despite the fact he's the source of it all.
He rolled his eyes and sat upright.
"I don't need your pity." He sneered once more.
"What makes you think it's pity?" You cocked your head, putting your pen down.
"It's all anyone offers. Pity or hatred. Nothing more, nothing less."
"It's empathy, Loki. And to be fair the hatred is well deserved, you came into these peoples planet, their home, and tried to take over." You took a pause. "But it can be forgiven."
"Do you truly think I'm stupid enough to fall for the fake ideology that 'all can be forgiven?' I am a god you dull Midgardian. I cannot, and WILL not be forgiven for my actions, and I could give two shits if they did." Your eyes widened a bit at the speech, but without fail you had a comeback.
"No, not everyone will forgive you. That is impossible. And something all of us have to cope with. We are not perfect, god or human. And we also have to accept that. I think that's something we should work on; as well as this feeling that you don't deserve forgiveness." You said rather calmly for just being called a dull Midgardian.
He said nothing in response, concluding your session. As you took a peep at your watch realizing it had been about an hour, you flipped you notepad shut, and raised you hand to put his back in cuffs.
"Someone will escort you to your room in a few minutes. I look forward to working with you, Loki." You smiled at him. He frowned, more confused than anything.
As you made your way around stark tower, you arrived at the conference room you were supposed to meet at after the appointment.
"Agent Novikov," Fury greeted you. Anthony gave a nod and Thor gave a smile. A moment of silence passed as you settled into your office chair at the table, cracking open your notes.
"So, how'd it go with reindeer games?" Stark finally broke the silence. His hands intertwined, resting on the glass table top.
You sighed, briefly looking at your notes.
"I have reason to believe he has significant trauma, mostly surrounding his upbringing and parentage. As well as a suicide attempt, that led to his run in with Chitauri. Possibly anger issues, more or likely stemming from childhood. Other than that I've seen worse cases; he's not a lost cause." Your brows furrowed as you glanced over your notes quickly again.
"So, what's your course of action?" Fury questioned.
"Therapy, socialization, possibly medication? Not quite sure about that though; I do think he should be socialized with the team, treated as if he's not a threat. That would be good for him."
"Woah woah there, slow your roll, he is a threat. And I'm not sure it's a good idea to have him outside of his cage until we're sure he's improving." Stark intervened. You nodded in agreement.
"Of course. But as soon as I'm sure he's improving, I'd like to further discuss socialization with the team." You agreed, standing up with your note pad and pen clutched to your chest.

Although he found your quarters unexpectedly empty when he stopped by that night, Thor did not worry overmuch. He had a pretty good idea where you’d got to, and if you weren’t there, he could simply ask Heimdall--unless you’d sneaked off to him to find an early ride home after all.
But no. Your packed suitcase sat next to the bed. You intended to return. Thor strode over to the balcony, where, sure enough, the doors were open. The curtains flapped in the breeze, and a small table had been dragged outside and right up against the outer wall. He had no trouble lifting himself onto the roof above without the use of said table.
And there you were. Your eyes flicked toward him as he straightened and walked over to sit down at your side. You smiled at him without saying a word.
Thor allowed the quiet to continue for what felt to him a very long time.
“You’re going to miss your goodbye feast,” he said at last.
You smiled again. “Yeah, I know. I’m sorry. It’s just probably going to be really late when it’s over, right? And I wanted to say goodbye to this view.”
Thor nodded, looking up at the dark, starry sky himself.
Of the many wonders that Asgard had to offer, you had been most keenly interested in the constellations from the start. The first time you climbed onto the roof, it had taken him and most of the palace staff nearly two hours to find you. He finally discovered you asleep underneath those stars.
Since then, you and Thor would sit on the roof every night, staring at the twinkling sky until you fell asleep in his arms. He had to admit he would miss that nightly tradition.
Your sigh interrupted his thoughts. “We don’t have stars like this on Earth.”
“No,” Thor agreed.
You frowned in such a way that made him think you were on the verge of tears. Quickly, he wrapped his arm around your shoulders and drew you closer to his side. “Is there anything else you are going to miss?”
“I’ll miss having you around whenever I want you.”
“Would you like to stay here, then? With me?”
His words were rushed with nerves. If Thor had been the the kind of person to feel embarrassment, he might have then. He had thought of inviting you to live with him several times during your trip, but he felt like it might too soon. Rushing things could be dangerous. Jane leaving him was proof enough of that. But if asking would alleviate your tears, he could and would throw all caution to the wind.
You twisted around in his arms to look at him. Yes, now he knew: He had rushed things again. Thor opened and closed his mouth several times trying to think of some way to patch over the awkward moment before you did so yourself with a smiling shake of the head.
“I couldn’t do that to your parents,” you said.
“They adore you. My father was just asking why you planned to  leave at all.”
Suddenly bashful, you swept your gaze to the tile below you. “Do you want me to?”
“Of course. But I don’t want you to do anything you don’t want to.”
“No, no!” You looked him straight in the eye and bounced a little in his lap as you did. “You mean I could see this every night?”
Thor grinned. “Every night. You’ll do it, then? You’ll stay?”
“I’ll do it.” You cupped his face with one hand, kissed his cheek, and stood up with flustered determination. “I’ll still have to leave tomorrow, though! I need to tell my family where I’m going, do some more packing. Will that–Will that still be okay?”
The look of uncertainty on your face had Thor back on his feet as well. He took your hands. “I’ll go with you. I can explain things to your parents. Perhaps they'd like to visit as well.”
“We should probably go to bed, then,” you said with a smile. “We have a busy day tomorrow.”
“I’ll tell my father our plans. I think they can handle one little feast without me.”
“Good.” You kissed Thor’s cheek again, then slid down to the balcony below. “Goodnight!”
“Goodnight. See you in the morning.”
And, Thor thought happily, every single morning after that.

The Goddess set her basket on the pedestal and curtsied, “Your Majesty. Your Highness.” She righted herself and gave Sigyn a playful smile, “Oh my, the stories of your beauty were not exaggerated. It is a pleasure to meet you, Princess. My name is Idunn.”
“G-Goddess of Youth and Spring. Keeper of the Tree of the Æsir.”
“That is me. Congratulations on your marriage. Many of us wagered that Loki would never take a wife. But look at you… a gift from the Norns. May I?”
Sigyn was unsure what she was agreeing to, but she nodded all the same.
Idunn took her chin in her hand and leaned over to peer into her eyes. “Fascinating. I almost did not believe Odin when he told me, but there they are. Two virtues, so different, yet coexisting so harmoniously in one being. I doubt we will ever see the likes of this again.”
Sigyn looked to Loki for reassurance. Her husband, her sweet Loki.
“Oh my.” Idunn giggled. Members of the Æsisr were speaking in excited whispers.
Sigyn looked over and saw the Goddess beside her clapping her hands and bouncing excitedly where she stood.
“Breathtaking. Undeniably breathtaking.” Idunn grabbed Sigyn by the shoulders and kissed her full on the mouth.
Sigyn’s eyes went wide with shock. She looked at Loki, and he was beaming with pride.
“Thank you,” she squeaked out. “Can I ask what is going on?”
Odin chuckled, “Sigyn, my dear, what you cannot see right now is a magnificent aura emanating from your skin.” He picked up her hand and ran his finger over the skin of her forearm. “This glow is caused by the inborn element you possess. An element of virtue so strong, so divine, myself and the other Æsir have never seen it manifest in such a way.
“It is why I must ask you to join us. I am offering you this golden apple from Idunn’s tree. Sigyn, I want you to become the newest member of the Æsir.” Murmurs of excitement broke out all through the Great Hall.
She blinked rapidly several times as if trying to awaken herself from a dream. Hearing a loud sob from below, she saw her mother clutching a handkerchief over her mouth and clinging to her father’s arm. His face was one of utter shock.
She looked at her husband again. Loki was still smiling proudly. She stared at him blankly for a moment before he raised his eyebrows to her and asked, “Well?”
Sigyn looked to Odin, “You are serious?” Chuckles drifted through the room.
“This is not an offer I make lightly. I am extremely selective. I don’t invite just anyone to join us. The Allmother and I agree that recent events have only solidified our feeling that you will do well with this gift.”
She could not believe what she was hearing. Her? A Goddess? It was surreal. Her hand shook as she found her bracelet and nervously toyed with it. Looking back at Loki, she immediately felt calmer. They had only met a short time ago, but a piece of him had been with her for her entire life. He was comfortable and familiar while being new and exciting at the same time. And she loved him. And she trusted him.
As she looked at him now, so confident, so proud, she pushed her trepidation far out of her mind. Yes. Yes, she could do this.
Sigyn placed both of her hands over her heart and curtsied. “It would be the highest honor, My King.”
Odin smiled widely, his eye crinkling at the corner, “Idunn, if you please?”
The Goddess gently picked up the apple from its bed of blossoms and handed it to Odin with a curtsey. The hall went silent. Sigyn could hear no sound over the pounding of her own heart.
“Divinity is sacred. The Norns have blessed you with a powerful virtue. I invite you, Sigyn, to partake in the fruit from the tree of the Æsir. With this apple and the magic it holds, you will be given sight, strength, healing, and longevity.”
He gently placed the apple in her hands.
Looking at the apple, she could see her awed expression reflected back to her. The apple looked like it was made of solid gold, shiny and metallic like she would break her teeth when she bit into it, but it felt warm and soft in her grip. She turned it about in her hands, looking for any imperfection in the skin, any proof that what she held had, in fact, been grown from a tree and not constructed by a metalsmith.
It was not lost on her that the average Asgardian had rarely seen the precious fruit she held in her hand, let alone touched it. Idunn herself is the only one besides Odin capable of plucking this fruit from the branch. Others have tried, of course, only for the apple to instantly rot in their hand.
Idunn tended to her tree with the utmost devotion, even if centuries passed before Odin deemed one worthy of the fruit. The apples hang from their branches, preening in the Asgardian sunshine, waiting patiently for their turn to be picked and pass on their magic.
Sigyn caught a glimpse of Kaarina out of the corner of her eye, bringing her out of her reverie. She held the apple out towards her to get a better look at it. Kaarina shook her head and mouthed the words, ‘What the Hel?’ with a big smile on her face.
She laughed and continued to look out over the tables. Her friends, family, and now her new family are all there, all watching as she had one of the most incredible days of her existence. She looked at her parents again. Her father was beaming at her; her mother gave her an anxious look and motioned with her hand, telling her to get on with it.
She let her eyes stop on Loki. Her sweet, handsome Loki. He blew her a kiss, and she felt a warm tingle radiate through her as her element flared brightly from her skin.
Without taking her eyes off him, she brought the apple to her lips and took a bite. Her teeth broke the skin easily, and her mouth was instantly filled with the sweetest juice she had ever tasted. She resisted the urge to moan as she chewed that first bite. The flavor was intense, not necessarily tasting like an apple, and perhaps flavor was the wrong word. She could taste sunshine, warmth, crisp morning air, fresh rain, newly fallen snow, and ocean spray individually as well as all at the same time.
She took another bite and felt a lightness pass through her like she weighed nothing at all and might float away with a strong breeze. She lifted her hand for a third time and noticed a light emanating from her skin. She took a bite and held her arms out to watch the sky-blue color flow around her as she chewed.
Another bite and a color she unexplainedly recognized as mischief joined her own. The blue and the green danced around her, combining and separating, twisting together and spiraling. She pried her eyes from the beauty of the twirling colors to look back at Loki.
He was smirking, and in his eyes was the same color green, dancing behind his ocean-blue irises. Her eyes went wide as she looked about to the rest of the divine beings in attendance. Odin: gold. Idunn: pink. Frigga: yellow. Thor: silver. Each of the Æsir had their own color, representing the unique element of their virtue.
She ate the entire apple as the effects took hold of her body. Her vision was crisper, the ache in her feet from her ornate shoes was gone, and she felt her muscles and skin tingle. She felt like she could take on an army single-handed. Her mind felt sharper as she swallowed the last bit down. She looked to Odin as she finished.
“As King of the Æsir, I name you Sigyn, Goddess of Fidelity, Loyalty, and Compassion.”
Everyone rose to their feet and cheered. The applause was almost deafening. Loki bounded up the steps to the platform and embraced his wife, “Goddess of Fidelity? I like the sound of that.”
oOXOo
The celebration lasted into the early morning hours.
Sigyn had never danced so much in her life. She had taken turns around the dance floor with her father, her childhood friends, Thor, and even the King. She danced with nobles, politicians, delegates, relatives, and Loki’s friends. Her wide smile never left her face.
Loki and Sigyn danced together most of all, never wanting to be separated for too long.
She should feel exhausted. She should feel dead on her feet, but she felt just as refreshed as when she had first awoken.
“How are you feeling, Princess? Are you getting tired?” Loki asked as he twirled her around the dance floor.
“Not at all. I feel like I could do this all night.” She pulled him down so his ear was close to her mouth. “Although I would like to go to bed soon.” She placed a soft kiss on his neck. “I think I have had enough dancing for one night. Take me home?”
“I thought you would never ask.” He brushed her cheek with his knuckles and kissed her tenderly.
He started walking her toward the dais when he spotted Thor dancing with Sif. He had ditched his coat as promised and wore a dark red sleeveless tunic. Loki placed a hand on his shoulder, “Goodnight, Brother! It is time for us to retire.”
Thor wrapped his arm tightly around Sif’s waist, “Retire?! The party is just getting started, Brother.”
Loki laughed, “The party has been raging for hours, and I have a duty I must fulfill.”
“Then I must not keep you.” He gave him a big grin. “Would you like some last-minute advice before you go?”
“No, but if I may offer you some advice… put down the mead and drink some water.”
Thor laughed heartily, “And lose my bet with Father? I think not.”
Sif embraced Sigyn, “Congratulations again, Your Highness. Go get some rest.” She gave her a wink.
“I will not leave my bed for days and days.”
“Good night, Sister.” Thor gave Sigyn a hug and a kiss on the cheek. “Go make Loki a man.”
“Good luck with him, Sif.” Loki smiled as he walked away.
“See you at breakfast, Brother,” Thor called to Loki.
“Do not count on it,” Loki called back.
They made their way through the crowd and approached the dais, where both sets of their parents were talking and drinking with a group of others.
“Father, Mother.” Loki bowed. “We are taking our leave now.”
Lord Anderson laughed, “Pay up, Your Majesty. They have stayed out far longer than you said they would.”
The King, eye glassy from the effects of the mead, “That is my Loki, predictably unpredictable.”
“Do not mind these two.” Frigga waved a tipsy hand between the two men, her cheeks pink. “They have had way too much to drink.”
“I can see that,” Loki chuckled.
“Thank you again, Your Majesty.” Sigyn addressed the King. “Today has been the greatest day of my life.”
“You are quite welcome. Please, call me Father.”
“Yes, Father.” She wrapped her arms around Loki’s waist, “Papa, Mama, I wanted to tell you goodnight before we go home.”
“What are you still doing here? Go make your union official.”  Lord Anderson waved them on.
Lady Anderson stood, swaying slightly as she motioned for the couple to come in for a hug. She embraced Loki first, patting his cheek after she pulled back. “What a handsome young man you have grown up to be. My daughter is a lucky, lucky girl.”
“Yes, Mama.” Sigyn laughed as she traded Loki places and folded into her mother’s arms. “Now, if you do not mind, I would like to take my handsome husband home now.”
She held her daughter’s face and smiled, “Get on with it then.” She gave her a peck on the cheek, wine heavy on her breath.
“I love you, Mama.”
“I love you too, Siggy.”
“Do you want me to announce your departure? Or would you like to slip out quietly?” Odin asked as he draped one arm over Frigga’s shoulders. She snuggled back into him, and Loki had to suppress the laugh that threatened to burst from his lips. He had never seen his parents this drunk in public before.
“No need for any fuss. Let the party continue without us as we sneak out the back. Goodnight, all.” Loki bowed as he took Sigyn by the hand and turned to depart. “Oh, one more thing before we take our leave.” He turned back to their parents. “Do not expect us for breakfast in the morning.”
The couple could still hear Lord Anderson’s booming laughter as they entered the hallway.
oOXOo
They practically ran the distance to their new chambers on the other side of the palace. Stopping a few times to kiss and grope each other behind a large marble pillar or secluded in a darkened alcove.
Eventually, they arrived at the golden double doors of their apartment. Loki unlocked the doors with the key from his pocket. He scooped Sigyn up bridal style and told the guards they were not to be disturbed before carrying her across the threshold. He closed the door behind him with his foot and locked it with his seiðr.
He set her down in the middle of the large main living space, looking around in wonder as this was his first time seeing it furnished.
“Would you like a drink?” Loki asked as he lit the fireplace.
“Wine?” she replied as she slipped out of her shoes.
Loki removed his coat and hung it over the back of a dining room chair. He smiled when he found the wine glasses in the first place he checked, knowing Margit would have arranged his belongings in the way he was used to.
“Do you prefer to be called Princess or Goddess from now on?” he asked as he handed Sigyn one of the glasses of red that he carried.
“I know you are jesting, but I cannot wrap my mind around this. I am Æsir. It sounds so strange to say, but I feel so different.”
Loki sat on the sofa and patted the seat beside him, “How so?”
She maneuvered her train out of the way and sat alongside him, “Well, take those shoes, for instance.” She motioned to her shoes which were abandoned by the fireplace. “I danced for hours in those monstrosities. My feet should be killing me, but they are not. I should feel exhausted, but I am not. And I can see now. I see the mischief dancing behind your eyes, and I can see my element when I push it away.”
She held up her hand and wiggled her fingers as she manipulated the blue light to dance around her digits. “I cannot sense lies or read anyone’s mind, which is disappointing,” she laughed.
“I cannot control my element in the way you do. I believe yours is the only virtue that behaves that way.”
“Oh really?” She held up her palm, and Loki shook his head in awe as a green ball of light appeared in her hand. She formed it into a snake and let it coil around her arm. “I believe this is mischief, is it not?”
“Show off,” he grinned at her. “The fruit, what did it taste like?”
“It was odd.”
“Elaborate.” Loki sipped his wine.
“It was crisp. It had no core; it was fruity flesh all the way through. The juice was sweet, but the apple itself was… unlike anything I have tasted before. I guess if magic had a flavor, that would be it.”
He could not stop smiling at her, “What I would not give to remember my transformation.”
“I keep waiting for something to happen like lightning to shoot out of my fingers or animals to start speaking to me,” she laughed.
“Your special abilities may take their time to manifest.” Loki shrugged a shoulder, “In the meantime, enjoy your added strength and endurance.”
“Oh, I plan on it, husband.”
The way she said husband made Loki’s cock twitch.
“How would you like to help me out of these boots, wife?” he sipped his wine.
She grinned as she set her half-empty wine glass on the table beside her. She then slid off the couch onto her knees at Loki’s feet. It took her a minute to figure out the elaborate system of buckles and straps on the tall boots, but eventually, she had them off and to the side.
“Do you need anything else while I am down here?” she smirked, rubbing his thighs while the green light swirled around her fingers.
“Can I let your hair down?” He rubbed the side of her neck with his thumb.
“That sounds wonderful.” She turned her back to him and sat on her heels between his legs. He could have snapped his fingers and each tiny braid would have been loose instantly, but he wanted to take her hair down himself.
He carefully removed her tiara and put it atop his own head. “What do you think? Does it suit me?”
She looked over her shoulder and let out a very unladylike bark of laughter. “To a tee. But you will have to get your own. I do not wish to share.”
Loki feigned offense, “Rude! You are a very stingy princess.”
“Quite the opposite. Finish your task, and I will show you just how generous I can be.” She smirked at him as she turned back around.
He bit his lip and let out a moan. He set the tiara aside and quickly set to work on the knot of braids at the back of her head. With a grace that should not be possible for a man with such big hands, his large fingers deftly removed the hairpins and tiny threads that secured her braids. It took a lot of time, but he eventually ran his fingers freely through her waist-length tresses.
“All finished.” He had his large hands in her hair, massaging her scalp.
“Mmmm… oh Gods, that feels so good.” She moaned again, “Your hands… mmm, Loki…”
He massaged her scalp, then her neck, then her shoulders. “Stand up, kitten.”
She stood with a hand from him as he took a moment to appreciate her, standing before him wearing her wedding dress with her hair loose.
“By the Norns, Sigyn.” He swallowed thickly, “You take my breath away.”
“It has been a long day. Let’s go to bed.” She tipped her head in the direction of the bedroom as she held her hand out to him.
He kissed her outstretched hand, then scooped her up again. The ache in his ribs reminded him that they were, in fact, still broken and that he was probably delaying his healing by ignoring the doctor’s orders. Not that it mattered to him at that moment.
All the domestic slowness from moments ago disappeared as soon as he set her down in the bedroom. She started franticly helping him out of his clothes between hurried kisses. Once he was out of his waistcoat and shirt, she made her way to his trousers.
“Wait. Let’s get you out of this first.” He spun her around and looked at the back of her dress, “How?”
“There are buttons,” she pulled her hair and cape aside, “down the back.”
Loki was faced with a row of a hundred tiny buttons. “No, not tonight.” He waved his hand over her, and all the buttons unhooked simultaneously.
She gave him a surprised laugh as he slid the dress down her body.
“Norns above, Sigyn…”
She stepped out of her dress, clad in a strapless white lace bustier, garter, and matching panties. He raked his hand over his face.
“Do you like it?” She turned in a slow circle for him. Her panties barely covered anything in the back, exposing most of her round ass.
“I… I…”
She laughed as she ran her hands down his chest, “You really know how to stroke a girl’s ego.”
He made to run his hand through his hair but realized his braids were still in place. He used his seiðr on himself to undo his plaits.
“Once again, you have rendered me speechless,” he said as he shook out his hair.
“I know how to get the words going again.” She palmed his burgeoning erection through his trousers.
“Sigyn…” He took her head in his hands and kissed her, “I love you.”
She smiled against his lips, “I love you, Loki. Now, take off your trousers.”
He obediently unfastened his trousers and slid them down to his thighs. Sigyn dropped to the floor and pulled them from his legs. Loki’s cock jumped when she nuzzled it against her cheek. His hands found her hair and his head fell back as she kissed him on his hip and started trailing open mouthed kisses over his lower belly.
“Get on the bed.”
Anticipation ran like a current through him as he sprawled out on the soft silk sheets. She kept her weight off his body as she crawled over him. She kissed down his neck, across his chest, and down his abs. She circled her tongue around his navel, took his burgeoning cock in her hand, and dropped her head to suck on his scrotum.
“Mmm...” he whimpered as she pulled her mouth off one of his testicles with a pop.
With a wide tongue, she licked him from base to tip, lapping at the glans with teasing gentleness. Loki groaned and bucked where he lay on his back, legs spread wide to accommodate his pretty wife between them.
Sigyn smirked as she watched what her handiwork was doing to him. His eyes were closed, and he was moving his hands about in the air like he was fighting the urge to grab her head and bury himself in her throat.
“Relax, lover.”
“Sigyn, please…” his voice was hoarse.
“I know, lover. You have been so very patient. You deserve a little treat.” She released him and sat up to kneel between his legs.
Reaching behind herself, she unfastened the bustier and threw it to the floor. Her nipples were rigid peaks on her full breasts. Loki groaned as she leaned over him again, letting her chest graze his cock.
He hissed sharply as she squeezed her breasts together around his rigid length, still wet from her onslaught of kisses. He bucked his hips and moaned as he watched the head of his cock, red and weeping, emerge and disappear between her breasts as he fucked her tits.
It was not long at all before he was teetering on the edge. But he forced himself to stop before he finished. This was a sacred night for him, he wanted his seed to land in one place and one place only: deep inside his precious wife. The ceremony of tradition is to be upheld even if they wouldn’t be trying for children anytime soon.
Taking a few deep breaths to center himself, he looked down at her as she sat back on her heels.
He sat up in the bed and pushed her down to lay her on her back, “Naughty thing. You are wicked.” He lavished kisses on her neck and jaw.
“Is it so wicked to give my husband pleasure?” She turned her head and closed her eyes, relishing his warm mouth on her skin. She moaned when his hand ran up from her hip to her breast to squeeze her nipple.
“You have distracted me once again.” He kissed along her collarbones, “I had plans for your body once I got you out of that dress, but the sight of you in this,” he reached down and snapped her garter against her leg, “scrambled my thoughts.” He dropped his head to her chest. She slid both hands into his hair as he brought her nipple into his mouth.
“Hmm… Do not leave me in suspense. You must tell me what you intended to carry out.” She threw her head back and ground her hips into him as he bit down on the soft flesh of her breast. He immediately laved it with his tongue and moved down to kiss her belly.
“What fun is telling? I would rather show you.” She squealed as he quickly pulled her panties off.
Taking revenge by teasing her relentlessly, kissing her everywhere but where she wanted him to for several minutes, Loki pleasured her with his tongue. She was reduced to a quivering, boneless puddle when he was finally finished with her after her second orgasm.
He crawled up the bed and claimed her mouth, her slick still sweet on his lips and tongue. Sated and pliant, she wrapped her boneless arms and legs around him. His stiff manhood lay heavy on her lower belly.
“Gods, Loki,” she managed to breathe out once she finally regained her wits.
“I am going to take you now,” he said as he stilled over her. It was a statement, but she heard the question in it too.
She opened her eyes to meet his; they were dark, full of want. She licked her swollen lips, “Yes.” She pressed her forehead to his and nodded, “Yes, Loki. I want you. All of you. Now.”
He kissed her slowly, tenderly, letting his hand skim the smooth skin of her thigh. Raising his hips, he brought his hand between them and watched as he lined himself up to her entrance. He looked back into her eyes as he nudged his tip inside.
She let out a long, slow breath as he pushed into her the rest of the way, tortuously slow. He held his breath and savored the tight, wet heat as he slid in, inch by inch. He groaned once he was fully seated and buried his head in the crook of her neck. He wrapped his arms around her and pressed his body tightly to hers.
She could feel him twitch inside her as he waited for her to adjust to his girth. She clung to his shoulders and rubbed her cheek against his soft hair.
“This is Valhalla,” he whispered as he traced her neck with his nose and lips.
He moved his hands under her shoulders, propping himself up on his elbows. “Are you all right?” he asked, placing slow, open-mouthed kisses along her jaw.
“Yes…” She lifted her hips to meet his as he pressed back into her. “Gods, yes...” She could not remember anything ever feeling this good. “This is so right.”
“Yes.” He claimed her mouth as he started moving above her.
She closed her eyes and relished the delicious drag of the head of his cock along her walls. Warmth spread to her thighs as another wave of arousal coated his cock in her slick. He let out an approving groan.
“Yes, kitten, soak my cock.”
“You feel… so good… inside me.” She gasped as he changed pace, moving faster and pressing into her harder. She moved her hands from his shoulder and held onto his biceps, hard and bulging with the effort of holding himself over her.
He dropped his eyes to where their chests were pressed together and growled, lowering his mouth to the junction between her neck and shoulder; he nipped and sucked, marking her as his own.
She was panting, “This… oh Gods… I never want… to stop… aaah… doing this… with you.”
“You are mine…”
“I am yours…” She pulled him down for a kiss. It was sloppy, ungraceful, and perfect. “…just as you are mine.” She ran her tongue along his bottom lip, then sucked it between her teeth, giving it a nip while simultaneously grabbing a fistful of his hair and yanking hard.
His hips stuttered, “Fuck, Sigyn… yes… mmm… as I am yours. Norns, woman! You almost caused me to spill too soon.”
He moved his arms from under her and pinned her to the bed by her wrists. “Loki… I want to touch you.” she tried to wriggle free. She surprised herself when she slipped out of his grip momentarily.
He quickly caught her and pinned her back down harder. “You are stronger than you used to be, kitten. But I am still stronger than you.” Resting his head on her forehead and letting his hair hang down around her, “I will free you for a price.” He slowed his strokes, “Come for me, and I will let you go.”
“Please, Loki…” she bucked her hips franticly, trying to encourage him to speed back up, “I am so close.” She clenched around him.
“Aaah… yes… sweetling.” He resumed the pace she favored.
She gasped and let her head fall back, a tightness coiled in her lower belly, her legs hooked around his, changing the angle of her hips and causing the head of Loki’s cock to drag over the sensitive spot inside her.
“Do. Not. Stop.” Her eyes fluttered closed, “Oh, Gods.”
“I can feel how close you are, kitten. Mmmm… just let go, precious.” He moaned as her walls started to flutter around him.
Her orgasm started in her center and radiated outward over her entire body. “Ah…Loki…” Her pelvic muscles clamped around his cock. Her fingers splayed wide, and she arched her back off the bed.
He watched her face as she came, trying very hard not to follow her over the edge as she squeezed him.
“That’s a good girl.”
She bucked against him as aftershocks wracked her body. He released her wrists as promised, and she immediately pulled him down for kisses. He slowed his pace, languidly easing her down from her high.
Loki stroked her hair, “So pretty… My wife. My pretty wife.”
“Loki…” Sweaty and breathless, she ran her hands through his hair. “Loki… Gods, I love you.”
“I love you, sweetling.” He closed his eyes and moaned as he picked up his pace again, her sweet cunt hot and wet. “Do you have one more for me?”
“For you? Anything for you, lover. Whatever you want. You can have whatever you want.”
He smothered her in kisses and caressed her everywhere he could reach as he continued his relentless pace. It was not long before she was burying her face in his neck as another orgasm charged through her body.
“Yes… aaah… yes, Sigyn.” He hissed. He let out a primal groan, and his hips stuttered as he came inside her. Her cunt milked his cock for all that he had as her abs and pelvic muscles spasmed around him. His fingers dug into her hips and he jutted into her as far as he could go.
When his cock finally stopped pulsing, he slowly opened his eyes and saw a single tear roll over her face towards her ear.
His heart dropped, “Oh Gods… I am so sorry. Sigyn, did I hurt you?” He started to pull out of her, but she caged him in with her legs.
“No! Don’t you dare get up yet!” She dried her tear with her thumb. “I am not hurt. I was just overcome.” She kissed him tenderly, “This was everything I dreamed it would be.”
Relieved, he smiled at her. Sweaty and panting he kissed her, “This was far better than even my wildest dream.” He rolled them onto their sides, twining their legs together, and held her and kissed her.
“Let me clean you up.”
“In a minute. I am not ready to be out of your arms just yet.”
“You married a sorcerer, sweetling.” He waved his hand over them, and her thighs were instantly dry and clean.
She shook her head as she pressed closer to him. “The best decision I ever made,” she said sleepily as she nuzzled his neck.
“I would have to agree.” He summoned the blankets over them and kissed her forehead.
He held her as she drifted off to sleep. This morning he had woken up full of nervous tension; tonight, he falls asleep, naked and sated, with the woman he loves wrapped securely in his arms, happier than he had ever been in his life.
Sending silent prayers up to the Norns thanking them for his precious gift. He didn’t know what he did to deserve her. He may never know the reason why the fates intervened to create her, but he would spend every day of his existence striving to be the man deserving of such an amazing partner.
He pressed another kiss to the top of her head and held her tighter. He let sleep take him as the sun started lighting the sky on the horizon.
