I am literally begging Marvel/MCU stans to tag your content appropriately.
I'm glad you got a new season of the show you like! I'm glad you love the characters! I love online fandom and I hope y'all continue to enjoy doing your thing.
But as someone who worships Thor, Loki, and other Norse deities, I would like to not be flooded with MCU content when I'm trying to connect with other people who share my religion. I've blocked the #mcu, #marvel, #marvelloki, and #lokiseason2 tags, and I'm still getting MCU content in Heathen tags.
Please use proper tagging etiquette when posting about fictional characters who share names with real religious figures.

I often worry about why the gods spend time interacting with me and other people.
I feel I am lesser than them, and like… why would a god hang out with a human?
But I think honestly..it’s just such a pointless question to worry about. I could wonder all day every day and use my worries to invalidate my own practice. but it wouldn’t change anything.
Because they are there nonetheless, because they have answered questions and prayers. And because I can feel their love and sometimes their displeasure too.
Whether I feel worthy of these interactions really is irrelevant at the end of the day. Because they are happening and I should just be happy for that.

More like SLAY of Thrym amirite?
(Also that story is one of the only recorded times of Loki and Heimdall ever coming close to agreeing on something XD.)

Hi, I hope you're doing well. I was wondering if you could tell some things associated with Thor (crystals, animals, colors, food, etc.) I looked through your Thor tag and I didn't really find anything on that (sorry if I'm wrong)
Thanks! I hope you have a wonderful day/night :)
Hi there! I'm doing well, thank you for asking!
Now, I'm sorry to say that correspondences are a rather new phenomenon, and though they're popular in online spaces, one finds out with time that they might not really resonate, or feel truly "right". That's because followers of certain deities often experience these beings in vastly different ways. You might realize that though your friend associates a deity with the deer, that same deity seems to manifest themselves to you in the form of a serpent, instead! This is a grossly over-simplified example of how multifaceted deities can be. Symbolism, when it doesn't have any roots in history, varies wildly from one believer to another. That is why I often don't give much credit to set lists of "correspondences" found online. Especially when they pertain to crystals associated with norse deities! That's because so, so many of the more mainstream crystals you'll find in witchcraft and pagan spaces aren't native to the areas where these Gods were worshipped, and have been imported there quite late in history. For this reason, it's especially difficult to determine, "which crystal would fit the most with my perception of this nordic deity?".
But still, you'll be happy to hear that there are a few unmissable symbols of Thórr! The following symbols have all been associated with him at some point in history:
The bear! One of Thórr's more popular kennings today is Björn, or "Bear" (I often use Bear God in my prayers), which appears in the Snorri's Edda and in the rímur Lokrur.
The goat (by extension, cattle and livestock), as it was said that his chariot is pulled by two goats. One of the main theories concerning Sweden's very famous tradition of building a Yule goat (or using straw goats to decorate) is that it originally stemmed from this particular part of his myth.
Anything that's related to land fertility and the harvest! Sources often depict him as a God of the sky, bringing forth rains and the like. In Iceland, he was primarily worshipped as a fertility deity, giver of good harvests and plentiful soil.
Thursdays, as the term Thursday itself stemmed from his name.
The rowan tree! As I've mentioned before in this post, oral tradition has it Thórr had once been saved by rowan tree which he grabbed, thus saving himself from drowning. This is why the rowan is often considered his sacred tree.
The anvil, as a popular saying had it thunder was the sound of Thórr beating his, as he worked in his forge.
The belt of power Megingjörð, the iron gloves Járngreipr and the hammer Mjöllnir, which grant him part of his strength.
The oak. These particular trees were often associated with thunder deities (famously, with Zeus) because they tend to be the highest individuals in a forest, making them the most likely to be struck by lightning. What's more, 8th century bishop Willibald, in his Vita Bonifatii auctore Willibaldo, tells us of "Donar's oak" ("Thor's oak"), a sacred oak tree which was located in modern day Germany and which was important to local pre-christian worship. This tree was notoriously cut down by missionary Saint Boniface, and what its location might have been unfortunately remains a mystery.
Tumblr media
Now, if I'm to dive deeper into his symbols and associations, I'll first mention the Miðgarðsormr, the World Serpent Jörmungandr, a figure which he faces twice in the myths! They are often depicted together, locked in combat, and one of Thórr's oldest attested myths is the one in which he accidentally fishes Jörmungandr after having used a bull's head as bait. Pulling fiercely against each other, they made the sea so agitated that it seemed to be boiling.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Drinking horns can also be associated with him, as he was said to be the best drinker out of all the Æsir! In one of his major myths, he is given a horn to drink by the jötunn figure Útgarða-Loki, who, unbeknownst to Thórr, has magically made it to fill with all of the ocean's water, making it impossible for the liquid to ever run out, or even lower. Still, Thórr drank so much from it than the ocean's level dropped, which stunned Útgarða-Loki. This might have been an early tale to explain the tides!
As for my personal experiences, I tend to associate him with the color red! After all, he was said to be a redhead! And this color feels both warm and fierce, two words I would use to describe Thórr! Earthy colors, like deep greens and browns feel very much like him to me, as well. After all, he is said to be the Son of the earth, and this part of his myth has always been super prominent in my worship when it comes to him. The Futhark runes Uruz and Algiz are also present in my Thórr worship, due to their association with strength and protection respectively. However, the rune Thurisaz (or Thurs) is generally considered his main rune association, as it's often said to represent giants, and their main mythological antagonist by extension. Now this is more UPG, but as for foods, I personally associate him with red meats, hearty winter meals and alcohols, especially beer and mead!

My experiences with my Deities so far
Tumblr media
Apollo: I’ve found that Apollo just likes to show up and sit with you places. It’s his way of checking in on you. One of my friends actually did a tarot and pendulum reading for me and Apollo apparently recognized me as one of his children which, like, holy shit dude. But seriously, Apollo is super loving. He’s always just kind of around, either because you feel his energy or you see crows and ravens basically everywhere. He also has a very protective energy, I feel like he would get super mad if any of his devotees are mistreated, which definitely fits with his myths. It’s super cliché but the only way to describe how you feel with connecting with him is sunny. My body feels a lot lighter and almost like it’s glowing, and I feel more at peace. This applies to most deities, but you really get the sense with Apollo that he wants you to feel good and he’ll do whatever he can to make that happen. Also he’s fuckin gorgeous. And he really likes apples for offerings, he always asks for them.
Tumblr media
Artemis: Artemis has such a cool energy. I feel like she’s that badass older sister that leans against walls and gives really damn good advice. When I connect with Artemis I just feel way cooler than before, like I can take on anything. Like I could fight any man and win. But don’t get me wrong, she definitely has a softer side. She’s adamant about me taking care of myself and doesn’t want anything bad to happen to me. I deal with a lot of terrible anxiety, and she’s always super reassuring that nothing will happen to me and if it does, she will smite something. Artemis gives me confidence. I also feel really called to help wildlife when I connect with her, which is fitting of course. She has some of the most protective energy out of all my deities - they all love and protect me of course, but Artemis is the most adamant about it. Probably because she knows that helps with my anxiety. I don’t know man, she’s just so badass and supportive and reassuring. She also likes apples. I also get the vibes that the Greek Gods can be a little more vague with their answers than the Norse or Celtic pantheons, but not in a bad way, just in a “you need to figure this out yourself” way, which I can respect and appreciate.
Tumblr media
Cernunnos: Has an incredibly wise and ancient energy. I've found he's very clear with what he wants during tarot readings, he will tell you exactly what you need to work on and do. Cernunnos is also very adamant about self care, probably because I don't do it enough, oops. He has this rule where, if you take something from the earth, you must give something back. Like when you pluck a flower, say thank you or water the ground where it stood. It takes a bit to get into the swing of doing that but you'll have such a better relationship with the land once you do. Whenever I connect with him I feel so much calmer and level-headed than usual. He's also very insistent that I meditate more often.
Tumblr media
(He wanted me to use this picture lmao I love him)
Thor: 100% the deity I feel most casual with. Every time I make an offering or connect with him, I immediately feel so much more chill and laid back. We make jokes with each other a lot. Also he's the biggest hype man of my entire life. If there's a major life event going on, he will send a storm or some thunder to let you know he's with you. At my High School graduation there was a lightning storm in the distance and on my last day of school he sent me a truly apocalyptic looking storm to show his support. Also, and I don’t know if this is just me, but Thor is also a massive flirt. He will compliment you and likes to be flattered right back. That seems to be a running trend with the Norse gods, they like being flattered. But they, and especially Thor, absolutely return the favor.

Offerings to the gods don't have to be fancy or expensive.
Our graduation tassel has been on our altar since we started our senior year of high school last August, as a way of asking Loki to give us the courage we needed to face the future. And now our cords lie on our altar next to our tassel, to thank Loki and now Thor as well for their assistance in getting us to this point, especially now that we're graduating this Friday. Our very first official offering to Thor is a small stuffed goat we made at school; it's not perfect and we didn't have any experience with sewing prior to making it, but it's something that we worked hard on and poured so much time and effort into, and Thor appreciates it all the same. And that, I think, is more authentic than if we had gone out and bought something that was crafted by someone else. -Daemon

When Gods and/or Goddesses, come to your aid in The Physical World. (Or... How Deities are so powerful, than they can affect our Life... Or, The World!)
When I was in college, I was studying one of the few technical subjects of my career; and in the morning of the day of my final test, weird things happened, like warnings than I should stay at home:
I dreamt with Lord Krishna in a big tapestry, in the room I shared with my parents for a few months ('Cause I was very ill in that time, and they could take me quickly to hospital; if my vital signs dropped dangerously); and his images moved like he was about to get out of the tapestry, like in a 3D movie.
When I wake up and went to prepared for my test, Loki spontaneously appeared from nowhere; screaming joyfully: ''Hello!... I LOVE YOU!'', (My blood pressure was starting to lower, and since I was a kid; I'm a bit cranky; when i'm in a very bad health...) feeling annoyed; my responses to him, was told him in a low voice: ''No, Loki: Please... Go away!'', and Loki leaved; still laughing at my annoyance for his loud greeting; at first hour in the morning. And,
I was feeling worst by the minute: Breakfast didn't sitted well to me that day, and my blood pressure continued to lower more and more; to the point than I started to have a migraine, which only started to makes me difficult to going out; to the aforementioned final test.
Despite the bad I was feeling... I decided to go to the final test, 'cause I couldn't pay for the reposition of the same; and my group will repeated it, if I couldn't go to the final work for get the grade to past the subject, and... I needed to complete this subject, to be closer to graduate from college. My mother warned me of leaving the house, in that awful state; but because I'm stubborn since I can remember... I walked in my weak condition to the street, to go to present my test... I was just a few meters of my house, when suddenly; my day became weirder: I was facing to the street, and I have a vision where the Gods and Goddesses close to my heart; appeared at my back... And looked more solid! Despite the impressive scene, after I turned my head in the street to saw them and not see them; I returned to going to College, but again... The Gods and Goddesses appeared in my vision at my back again over the same street near of my house, trying to call to my attention. I was going to resume my trip, but then; people than lived near of me and than never spokes to me, making me signs to get closer to them, and I walked over them; and then I hearded to my neighbors clearly, and they asked me if I was okay; confused I said I was okay, and they told me something than makes me feel cold and terror; inside: A thief was very close to me, and about to rob me my cellphone! (Or maybe, even to hurt me to get it!) I ended going to the test, thanks than my father pointed me someone than protected me; until I got inside a Public Transport, totally safe: If it wasn't for the Presence of Krishna, and the other Gods and Goddesses screaming at me; so I went away of where it was dangerous... I could have been hurt for that thief, in many bad ways!
That's all in this post, and remember than Gods and Goddesses; can past to our world when they needed, including to save us in real life of any danger.
Than The Gods and Goddesses, always crossed the limits between worlds; when we really need them to keep us out of harm's way... So Be It!

⚡️ Thor moodboard 🐐
🌧️🌲 Thor showed himself to me in a dream of a rainy grove, there were people everywhere hiding under branches of trees to stay out of the rain. 🍃
🌧️ It felt safe and I felt him watching over all of us. Now I feel his safety and love for humanity in every drop of rain that hits the leaves around me. I find beauty in the sounds of thunder because it makes me think of him. 🌿⛈️

Hi again, I was wondering if you had any information on Thor (crystals, animals, colors, herbs/foods associated with him etc.) I've been trying to do research but the main thing that comes up is mcu (which is fine and all, except for when it's getting in the way of research)
Thanks, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!
Hey there!
Unfortunately, I do not have any resources on Thor; I don't actively worship him. If you look at @broomsick 's Thor tags, though, you'll probably find something! They've got a lot of informational posts floating around their account. They are on a hiatus, however, so I don't think you can send them asks at the moment.
I'm sorry I could be of more help, but I hope this ends up being useful to you! If any of my followers have good resources, please feel free to share, and I'll reblog the information. Have a good day/night! 🧡

I originally drew this for a carving, but now I think I'll also adapt it for an embroidered patch.
See posts like this a day early on my Ko-Fi~
Edit: Kicking myself for not first calling this a THOROBOROS.
