mufasa and scar is just a furry representation of thor and loki in an alternate universe where thor is the one who fell from the bridge instead of loki.
I can just imagine loki saying long live the king before pushing thor off into the void.
wouldnt that make thor a villain development then or...?
Or idk maybe thor's too righteous to accept thanos. Bet.
But lile what if??🤔🤔

Loki Season 2 Ending Thoughts Aka Immediate Reaction and Midnight Ramblings
OKAY BUT LIKE YOU GUYS
I ACTUALLY FINALLY GOT AROUND TO WATCHING LOKI SEASON 2 AND FRICKIN LOVED THE LAST 2 EPS SO MUCH????
Tumblr media
LOKI FINALLY GETTING TO BE THE POWERFUL HERO WE ALL KNEW HE COULD BE IN AN EPICALLY UNFORGETTABLE FASHION OF UNFATHOMABLE MAGNITUDE? (and cough actually be the main character in his own show this time around?)
THE BEAUTY? THE TRAGEDY? THE LITERAL AND MOST UNIRONIC MANIFESTATION OF HIS ICONIC “BURDENED WITH GLORIOUS PURPOSE” LINE?
The score? The costume design? The fulfilling emotional devastation?
Tumblr media
Like I 100% get people being sad/mad about Loki ending up alone on a throne he never wanted but like…Loki was always a tragic character. Iirc Tom has likened Thor 1 to a space opera/tragedy particularly in regards to Loki’s character, but this does him infinitely better than falling into a void, alone, misunderstood, friendless.
This time he doesn’t let go because he has no purpose—he chooses to walk forward to meet his fate because he’s found it. Both purpose, and friends, and love, even understanding, and dang if that don’t just sit so right with me. I thought it was a beautiful ending that did him much more justice than the last ditch hopeless kind of what-were-you-even-thinking-would-happen sacrifice/death in Infinity War. We actually get to see the fruits of his character development in what immediately became the coolest scene in recent Marvel history.
Sue me, but I love the tragedy and angst of it all. The sacrifice. The love and friendship he found and was willing to give up—and the thing is you guys, he found it. That’s not something we ever thought we’d get to see, not after Thor 1, nor after Thor 2, nor 3, certainly not after Avengers and obviously not after Infinity War.
I still think season 1 of Loki just…was not doing a great job understanding his character, but heck if season 2 didn’t come in clutch and amend some of that.
Can we also talk about how much I love time travel? How much I adore time loops? How dang good one looked on Loki? I go absolutely feral for a time looper knowing absolutely everything because they’ve lived through it a million times.
AND THAT ENDING
LIKE Y’ALL
Tumblr media
I have too many thoughts and feelings about this much like UGH YOU GUYS this was such an improvement over season 1 you don’t even know and high key I’d be fine if this is where they left Loki’s character for good and was our final goodbye. He’s legit the most powerful character in the MCU to date now, 1000% lived up to his god of chaos name while even being a hero doing it, giving everyone free will and all variants a chance to live as they choose and sacrificing himself to make sure they have a choice and yes it’s tragic but it’s also beautiful and gosh darn it that character arc that ending Loki finally figuring out what he wants after having had it and then giving it all up for the sake of everyone else—AAAA YOU GUYS ITS SO GOOD

Loki season 1 moments that live in my head rent free ✨
"This is FINE asgardian leather!!!" (e1)
I imagine that Loki, a fashion queen, really cares about their looks, and wouldn't let their outfits, conjured or not, carelessy touched like that. But they did conjure that outfit, right? So they must've really worked hard on it; Asgardian leather sounds precious, after all.
The whole "I don't enjoy hurting people" conversation. The "Because it's part of the illusion. It's the cruel, elaborate trick conjured by the weak to inspire fear." quote
Tumblr media
Mobius giving (or trying to give) Loki back his daggers. Love is a dagger
Tumblr media
Loki looking up in the sky for the storm in episode 2: The Variant , most probably being reminded of his brother Thor
Loki fixing Mobius' tie. It's such an iconic moment I know none of us need an actual illustration for it; it's engraved in our visual memory.
These precious precious moment when Loki feels safe enough to fall asleep in Mobius's presence
Tumblr media
The well known "Jeg Saler Min ganger" (I saddle my steed) Norwegian song
"Is this...Hel?" after ending up in the void. Because they must've thought, again, that their end must be Hel, undeserving of a "greater" one like Valhalla
THE HUG?!?!!
Tumblr media
Just Mobius pulling that pizza car to Sylvie. Fearless.
Tumblr media
"I'd NEVER stab anyone in the back! That's such a boring for of betrayal!"
I literally quote this out loud a few times a week, it's part of my personality.
"No one bad is ever truly bad, and no one good is ever truly good" also quote this almost daily, but in my head.
Casually stopping a building from falling using telekinesis!? We deserved to see more of his powers, like THAT'S just how powerful he is. Not just daggers (altough those are cool as well but...yk, not as efficient)
Tumblr media
"You can be whatever, whoever you wanna be. Even someone good. I mean just in case anyone ever told you different"
need I comment? We get to see a character that pretends to be bad at their core being told he can just go and be the opposite - which is true!! they just needed the right support for that.
The introduction of Mobius. The first time we ever saw him was in sunlight; just like the last time...
Tumblr media
The introduction of Sylvie. Setting things on fire, just the perfect visual for her character and actions for the rest of the season.
Tumblr media
Loki trying to hit Miss Minutes with a magazine. The magazine being Mobius's jet ski one 🧡
"You're just a little pussycat" and "If looks could kill" from the first episode. My man was genuienly flirting ✨
" A bit of both" the only bisexual queen moment we actually got. The lighting here is interesting as well...a bit of pink, purple and blue. 😉

@lokisgoodgirl and our UK compadres…….
Saw a giant cookie / cake thing in Morrisons today for the coronation with white piped letting that simply said:
THE
KING
Which immediately prompted memories of Thor 1 Loki standing from his throne and emitting the iconic words:
“Your King.”
Ahm fahn.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also if it was Loki’s coronation on Saturday I’d be much more interested tbh 🫣🫠

Now that we seem to be at a stopping place for MCU! Loki’s character, time for a no context personal ranking of Tom Hiddleston Lokis
1. Thor 2011 (The Loki I base my Loki standards on)
2. Loki Season 2 (specifically episode 5 and 6)
3. Thor: the Dark World (you just decapitated your grandfather)
4. Loki Season 1 (peak mischief, angsty identity crisis, punk Jotun girlfriend. Rest sucked.)
5. Avengers (solid iconic Loki era just not my taste)
6. Thor: Ragnarok (Loki wrote a play. Loki being predictable chaos and afraid of change. Rest sucked.)
7. What If (for Jotun Loki’s eyeliner and shenanigans alone)
8. Endgame, etc. Loki was not in Infinity War ✌️

Girl I have like an entire storyline here lmao, I have a lot of imagination…too bad I’m not a writer lol. I’m not a native speaker so I apologize in advance if something is written in the wrong way❤️.
So that was my idea for the Poseidon X Goddess! Reader:
I imagine her as a Norse goddess ( my favorite mythology) and this is kind of a crossover with marvel, but not really (everyone’s alive, but not mentioned and they live separately living each of them their own life, so no avengers, the members singularly exist but they are living at peace, just the occasionally battle, no war, no blip, no things like that, they are in the same universe but they don’t know each other tho) I hope this was clear 😫.
I imagine her as Thor and Loki’s younger sister (she is like 1000 years old or something)I don’t know what kind of goddess she could be, I was thinking love and war maybe, I love the goddess Freyja sooo…
I imagine her as the scarlet witch but with blue colors, even blue hair maybe lol, she is different from other gods and goddesses, maybe even considered weird from some of them.
They met when she was 800 or so, because before that olympians and asgardians did not like each other for centuries, so Loki, Thor and y/n have never seen Olympia.
Once Kronos dies, Zeus and Odin decide to make an agreement, both parties could live at peace without risking any war, a friendly pact.
Then they celebrate and everyone meet at Olympia, first meeting for y/n and Poseidon.
Y/n is a beautiful goddess, her blue hair are iconic and unique and she has the power of love and war, so I would say that everyone were watching her, some were envious, others jealous, someone was even afraid maybe, they don’t really know how her powers works, she is kind of strange with her blue hair.
But of course, Poseidon was very intrigued already. They all take a seat in this very long table, and while Poseidon was watching her, for the first time that night, she was staring back at him, she could feel that he was not judging her like everyone else was doing, so she smiled.
In the meantime I imagine the situation being a little bit chaotic of course, while y/n and Poseidon were just occasionally eying each other and EVERYONE could see that. Then they also dance together and  talk a little (other gods were already feeling the sexual tension lmao😏) . From that moment, they of course are very interested in each other, and in many occasions they talk, they fight together, and one day they kiss.
He is the only one that believes in her powers and is not afraid of her strength (beyond her family and her people of course). He would definitely kneel for his woman and admit that she is more powerful than him any day.
But they can’t stay together, because yes to peace, no to relationships between olympians and asgardians (forbidden love trope 👀).
They keep their relationship hidden for a very long time (with her powers, they could keep the secret from Zeus, Hades knew but he was fine with it and never ever said anything, hades is a Poseidon and Y/n fan in this), but one day Olympia declares war to Asgard because the lightning bolt is stolen and y/n is the one being accused…but guess who was it actually ? Hermes, the motherfucker found out why y/n didn’t want him, at first he thought it was because of the rule but then he caught y/n and Poseidon in the lake and let’s say they were not swimming 👀…yes they were practicing so they could have Percy a century later lol ( I don’t know if you write smut, this scene would need al lot of spicy details)
So Hermes is the og Luke of course, the war doesn’t happen because they find the lighting bolt, everyone finds out about Poseidon and Y/n and another agreement is made, after a 100 or so peace, olympians and asgardians will never ever again have another interaction…
This was part 1, in the other Percy will be in it. I really hope you like it🦋🩵💙!
WAIT WHY DO I KINDA SORTA RLLY LOVE THIS???? OK OK IM MAKING THE MASTERLIST RN SO GIMME A MIN AND ILL PUT IT ON THERE!!!

Who is more villainous – Anakin Skywalker\Darth Vader or MCU!Loki?
There’re two trends in Marvel and Star Wars media – ‘Loki is such a bad person, worst of all’ and ‘Anakin never did anything wrong, he was the best Jedi ever’. Both have sad and tragic backstories, both turn bad, both iconic villains. So I decided to have my own small investigation – is Disney justified in their attitude?
What are Loki’s crimes?
1.Setting up his brother (coronation situation) – ‘to delay his idiotic rule for a while longer’, as Thor obviously wasn’t ready. Evidence from the movie show that he didn’t even want them to go down to Jotunheim – he expected to be stopped by Heimdall and even sent for a guard to tell Odin about their departure [1 - 4.12]. For the sake of ‘Loki making bad decisions’ – count.
2. Usurped the throne – no! Frigga gave it to him [2]. Don’t count.
3. Almost killing Thor – frankly, when he gives Thor a slap with the Destroyer, it looked as if he wasn’t trying to actively kill him, more like lashed out. Still, count.
4. Killing Laufey, his biological father – count.
5. Attempted genocide of the Jotuns – * sarcasm* nevermind that he was doing exactly the same thing as Odin (slow murder is still murder. I’d say Loki even shows more mercy – at least he’d kill quickly, not slowly making the planet decay for a thousand years.). Not trying to say the idea was good, just pointing out the hypocrisy in- and out-universe. Count.
6. New York – in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ we learn that 74 people were lost during the invasion. ‘80 people in two days’ per Natasha are mostly on Fury – Loki had no way of knowing the place would be destroyed. It’s clear from the movie that the facility was already unstable due to tinkering with the Tesseract. Why didn’t Fury stop the experiments and start evacuating people? And the most important factor – mind influence [3, also], though it’s unclear to what extent, and coercion. For the sake of ‘Loki killed innocent people’ – count 154 ( + Coulson, but looking at 7 seasons of ‘Agents of SHIELD’, I find it hard to count him in.).
7. ‘Loki killed his mother’ bullshit – all he did was lead the Kurse out of the prison a little bit faster. Anyway Malekith already knew where the Aether was, it was him who killed her. Why not blame Thor or Odin with the same vigor as Loki? So, don’t count.
8. Loki usurped the throne – he offered Thor the throne, Thor refused [4]. Of course, he lied to Thor pretending to be Odin. I’ll give it half a count.
From the moment Taika Waititi came, it becomes hard to count, as he never cared about canonical portrayal of characters and actively hated Asgard [5]. Both Loki and Thor are absolutely different from as they were shown in pervious installments. I cannot value the movie where a) the director never watched any of previous films and b) improvised 80% of the movie [6]. But to see the full picture of Original Loki (however askew it becomes from this moment), I’ll be brief.
9. Loki being a bad king – paying attention to arts and giving freedom of self-governing to other planets is bad? Don’t count. And yes, Ragnarok is on Odin – Loki had no way of knowing about it, just as anyone else except Odin himself.
10. Loki betraying Thor all the time – this was improvised, such as ‘the snake story’ and ‘obedience disk’ moment [7], thus can’t be seen as direct continuation of character consistency. Don’t count.
I’m absolutely going to ignore whatever crap Michael Waldron did in the Loki series. I refuse to take into consideration the writing of a person who a) never watched an ounce of Loki-related media and b) just rehashed his own original script [8]. And anyway, he’s a Variant!Loki, not OG!Loki, they’re different people.
Sum up: kind of set up his brother, almost killed abovementioned brother, killed his biological father, attempted genocide, killed 154 people, kind of took the throne.
What are Darth Vader’s crimes? (I count everything that he’d done while he was still Anakin. No matter how Disney tries to pretend, Anakin IS Vader, not two separate entities [1].)
1.Slaughter of the whole Tusken camp, including women and children. Yes, they killed his mother. No, still murder. Count.
2. Torture of a prisoner in ‘The Clone Wars’ s2 ep.8. Good guys don’t torture anyone (yes, looking at you, TR!Thor). [Frankly, if we speak about TCW, the situation is a little bit difficult, because war. I pointed out the torture moment, because you can’t claim the character is perfectly good if he knowingly tortured someone with the Empire’s melody in the background.] Count.
3. Beating up his wife’s ex to the pulp in s.2 ep.4, knowing that she’s flirting with him not because she wants so, but because of the job. Count.
4. Slaughter of younglings in the Jedi Temple. Count.
5. Betrayal of the clones. Leading a brainwashed army (who presumably were his friends) to kill his family (Jedi). Count.
6. Choking his wife. Even better, pregnant wife (doesn’t make it acceptable if she weren’t, though.). Count.
7. Trying to kill his best friend / master / father figure, twenty years later succeeding. Count.
8. Slaughter of all the remaining Jedi across the galaxy, destruction of their culture. Yes, Palpatine manipulated him, but he could have helped Mace Windu [2], and none of that would’ve happened. He didn’t, thus making his choice clear. Count.
9. Maintaining the fascist regime across the galaxy for more than twenty years. Count.
10. Choking his subordinates. Count.
11. Trying to kill his Padawan (‘Rebels’, s.3 ep.22), almost succeeding. Count.
12. Maiming his own child and trying to kill him when he refused to join him. Count.
In case of Vader, lots of his kills remain off-screen, and here go speculations. Different sources (Reddit, ScreenRant, Youtube bloggers) name different numbers from 55 to 69 direct kills throughout all the movies\TV series (not counting tie-in comics). Everyone killed directly and indirectly off-screen hard to estimate – from what we know, numbers can go up to millions.
Sum up: killed at least hundreds of innocents throughout the galaxy, killed or tried to kill members of his family (at least 10 Jedi + Luke), children murders, tortures, completed genocide, maintained a fascistic government.
Interestingly, everything Vader is accused of – true. I couldn’t find any instance where he was blamed, but in fact was innocent. Yes, originally he was trying to save Padme. But a) at what cost? b) save her for her or for his own feelings for her? [3] He was choosing being as he was for many years, he wasn’t mind-controlled or anything.
Also it’s interesting to count the time span of their villainy. Loki committed his crimes in short period of time, after that going into ‘antihero’ mode, helping Thor more than harming. Anakin, on the other hand, took the chance of stopping his villainous acts only once – in ROTJ. Loki – roughly 2 years of his 1053-years-long life. Anakin – 23 years of his 45 years long life.
So, after this investigation, I believe the winner is obvious.
Before anyone says anything about my personal preferences and biases: I like both of them, but also try to be objective – both of them have done bad things, although they’re both sympathetic. Of course, we can delve into Loki’s and Anakin’s mental traumas – but I deliberately didn’t dive into this, because I went into ‘crimes are still crimes’ mode, and giving full psychological portraits wasn’t the goal anyway.
But for me it’s weird that a ‘family-friendly’ company tries to ‘forgive and forget’ Darth freaking Vader and simultaneously blames Loki of all the things possible, even those he’s never done. In terms of crimes committed Anakin wins without questions, so – why?

do u have thorki fic recs?
yes, and I have not the mind to sort them much right now, but here you go
The Prince by astolat : Thor is not only inadvertently hilarious but also gets knocked up like a pro (graphic main relationship)
Entanglements by astolat : Hilarious but also surprisingly sweet ;-; + MONSTER DONG???????? (the fic basically starts after a sex pollen incident and doesn't get less graphic later)
Don't Leave Me the Way I Am by glayish : Thor is. Guilty? Yes. Ashamed? Yes. I know what you're thinking: Oh nooo, Thor is into men. Brodinsons being emotional wrecks. (graphic relationship, though mostly in the last chapter)
Loki like "ohhhhh I know what'll make Thor suffer. sex with me. heheh." and then he fails terribly. Happens a few times so : Loki Takes His Revenge by swimsalot, Failure by astolat, Better Than Ice Cream by astolat
Nine Pound Hammer by Bluebird_Rose : this one is pure crack/comedy. so many euphemisms. so many.
Weary and Wary by Erin_A2 : soft brodinsons set while Loki is in prison ;-;
Attention Seeking Behavior by Lokincest : Loki tries to help Thor with his injury, Thor pines. comedy.
small and little and held by Lokincest : BRO THOR WANTS TO BE THE LITTLE SPOON SO BAD
True Love Conquers All by amberfox17 : Maleficent AU solid fairytale vibes ! Soft descriptions, Thor is... warm.
Thor Gets Knocked Up in This One by thisdorkyficthing : pretty iconic behaviour on Thor's part, as you can tell by the title.
Thunder and Other Things by illwynd : Asgardian Thor Jotun Loki marriage AU where Thor gets 'knocked up'.
Trickster’s Gifts by Schaudwen. Loki gives Thor lady parts to learn a lesson. Then decides they should have secx before he returns him, except it’s Loki/Loki/Loki/Thor
Climate Change by glimmerglanger : Tony trying to solve a mystery about where Thor's storms come from which he really should’ve probably stayed away from
When Rules Change (working title) by MissisJoker : Incomplete and probably abandoned fic where Thor 1 and Avengers 1 never happened and both princes of Asgard are sent to Midgard to negotiate peace. Everyone favours Loki over his arrogant prat brother. Obviously. Not so ship-based.
By Fools Like Me by xWitchAlchemistx : Loki walks in on Thor receiving 'stress relief', and doesn't walk back out. Set on the Statesmen. Mildly graphic Thor/Loki relationship, honestly it's mostly kink
No Common Thing  by ravenbringslight : sup thor. why u going to a shapeshifter brothel. loki wants to know.
Beneath Your Bones by cloudsmachinations (spnblargh) : Post-Infinity War. In the wake of Thanos’s victory, Thor and the rest of the Avengers must stand together, or else fall apart like the rest of the universe. But when Thor, helpless with grief, returns to the Statesman in search of survivors, he brings something — or someone — back with him.
Through Frost and Thunder by xWitchAlchemistx : Thor makes Loki angry enough to use magic to swap Thor's gender and lock his powers as a temporary punishment. Thor tries to fix it himself and gets them both stuck in Jotunheim, where Loki's true parentage is revealed. It's going to be thorki eventually, but where it is currently is solid brodinsons psychology + miscommunication vibes :D
literally anything by @illwynd here let me just Under Snow, LMD, On Bare Skin, Fall at your feet, The Begonia Incident and of course I Remember a Shadow.
The Enduring Man by pennypaperbrain : But when Loki returns from the dead gaunt and hollow-eyed, raving about conquering Midgard, Thor realises that another, more sinister force has taken control of his brother. Set during the scene on the mountaintop in The Avengers.
Neutral Ground by rayemars : Thor is hairless bc Loki painstakingly uses a blade on him smh. weirdly works. graphic.
Caught in Our Own Creation by LadyVader : Whilst working a spell together to benefit their people, Thor gets trapped in a feedback loop of power too great to survive, and Loki finds himself — much to his surprise and long-buried delight — Thor's sole choice of rescuer.
Farewell, Silver Tongue by pennypaperbrain : lips stitched shut (they're kids)
Have Use of Me by pennypaperbrain : lips stitched shut (they're adults)
Tongues to the Flame by seidrade : auspicious, traditional night for Thor, but instead of looking for a different intimacy partner he asks Loki to stay.
this is not a romance by Ark : young thor and loki (have sex or die trope)
Hela Victorious by Rerin : not so ship-based but Hela takes Thor as a prisoner and Loki is like oh no you don't!!!!!
Discernment by Roshana : Thor and Loki appear at the end of a battle younger and without memories of recent years. They think the Avengers are attacking them and leave together. Not ship-oriented.
Looking for Something Dumb to Do by snack_size : aw man, What If? Party Thor and Jotun Loki must commit to a marriage to solve some harm they have caused. but bro I dont wanna get married to you bro :(
The Crown Prince and the Beast by triedunture : After a dreary, protracted period of negotiation, it was decided that the two Princes, both of whom were disappointments to their fathers, should be wed, thus ushering in a tentative peace between the two worlds. Loki and Thor who had no interest in getting married put off doing anything in the bedroom bc they don't want to be used for children lmao.
Kings and Queens of Promise by Cassy27 : The war between Jotunheim and Asgard has been long, brutal and bloody. After another battle, Loki is taken prisoner and made a spoil of war to Thor Odinson, Prince of Asgard. Thor is mean, but not going to force anything.
Fate Does Not Bend to Hope by slamncram : Loki died. Thor knows this. But he can't shake the feeling that something is haunting him, following his every step, trying to get something from him. From the other side of the veil, it's a problem Loki's having, too.
Tropic of Mercury by seidrade : this is just symbiote!Loki secx.
Symbiosis by illwynd : symbiote!Loki, again,
from the belly of the deepest love by maharlika : post-Ragnarok fake marriage (and you know this tends to go)
never doubt; by unintentionallyangsty : post-Ragnarok, 5 times Thor tells Loki that he loves him, and (+1) time Loki says it back. Not ship-oriented.
One for sorrow by thebookhunter : 400k which starts with Thor being horribly mean to him and cheating on his gf so Loki reasonably decides to catfish him.
Complicated Arrangements by CrazyKZ : A young Jotun Loki is sent to Asgard to prepare to be the spouse of Prince Thor of Asgard. Thor hates the blue abomination, but Loki is determined to succeed for the sake of his people. He identified as more of a male likeness, but Asgard is determined to make him a female-like queen. Loki just hopes he survives the whole ordeal, without killing Thor and his gang. That would be ever so tragic.
Along a Desert Highway by triedunture : both Thor and Loki are sent to Midgard without their powers as punishment for their misdeeds.
Also Built on Ruins by coyotesuspect : post-Ragnarok, some council decides the cleanest solution to the Loki Problem (inheritance laws and the way he's stabby enough to overthrow Thor) is to marry him.
Creeping Ivy by ravenbringslight : pre-Thor 1, what Happens When You Accidentally Throw A Fertility God Into The Middle Of A Complicated Magical Working (sex pollen/sex or die trope)
grandthorki where they're forced together on sakaar: The Bargain by days4daisy, keep me forever, tell me you want me by Lise, Gave You Every Piece of Me by charlottelennox , Brothers of Habit by Loxxlay (the last in the series beloved), you can set yourself on fire (but you’re never going to burn) by RiseHigh , I will kiss you till your breath is found by 100indecisions, Soothing Tensions by Loxxlay, A Lesson in Empathy by Teleri, the claim by days4daisy , we can take the right way out of here by AuroraWest, Keep It Complicated by hematiteasteroid, A Hundred Little Pieces by Red_Shadow_Wolf_19,

Loki Collection Update 1/4
Tumblr media
I mentioned in my last collection update that I got a gift card to my local comic book store for Christmas. I finally had a chance to stop by today to pick some stuff up. I’m saving some of the gift card for this month’s Immortal Thor issue (and hopefully next month, too, if I don’t find something else to spend it on when I pick up the January issue in a few weeks).
Thor: First Thunder issue 1: I think I might have this one already, or at least the graphic novel of the entire run. But (as is the case for a couple other issues for this haul) I also had a coupon for $5-worth of specific issues, so it was worth it.
The Mighty Thor issue 700: Another coupon purchase, though I don’t think I already have this, and I think Loki is in more of this issue than the previous one.
Asgardians of the Galaxy issue 4: The theme with this haul is, if Loki’s on the cover or appears in the issue, it’s mine now. I have not read or purchased any of the other issues in this run.
Thor issue 3: Another issue I think I might already own, but coupon purchase. I think when I mentioned the piece of Thor and Loki kneeling to Hela, this is what I meant, though looking at it now, that’s not Loki I don’t think. I think it’s Baldur. Whatever, both Loki AND Thori are in this, so I’m thrilled.
Iron Fist issue 5: Again, I see Loki, I buy. I have another issue from this run, but I don’t know anything about Iron Fist. I just keep buying the issues with Loki on the cover.
Loki: The Liar graphic novel: Yes, I already have all the issues from this series (and multiple variant covers). But it’s the compilation, so I needed it.
Battleworld: Thors issue 1: Another coupon purchase. I think Loki’s in it, but my boi looks like shit and it’s one panel.
Loki: Agent of Asgard issue 5: Okay, listen. Loki looks good on this cover. And Verity is also on it, they look like they’re gonna commit a heist (which, like, they do, but not in a casino like this is implying). It’s possible I already have this one, too. God, I really need to update my inventory list.
Marvel Comics 2024 calendar: This was free, and I probably wouldn’t have taken it if I’d looked at all the months before I left. But I was looking at it while paying for my comics, and didn’t finish looking at it. Unfortunately no Loki comics on the main month pictures. But there are also some icons on holidays (like Cap on Memorial Day and Eddie Brock—in the suit so technically also Venom is there— with whatever his (their) son’s name is on Father’s Day). So there was also this:
Tumblr media
God of Mischief on April Fools Day. Yep.
Sadly December 17 is blank (but you can bet I’m putting a Loki sticker on it ASAP).

Ahhhh this is so cute!!! Thank you for thinking of me :D
1. Fave Loki era.
Ohhhhh that's tough. I love them all for different reasons.
Pure Dom! Loki energy, Avengers 1/ end of Thor 1. Sassy. hot dirty Loki, Thor TDW Cheeky Avenger! Loki inspo is heavily inspired by Ragnarok
2. Favourite Loki look.
Avengers 1/Thor TDW
give me that sinful messy hair, armour/leather/tunic/boots get up and throw some dirt on there for good measure.

Overview of my thoughts on all the main movies/movie franchises/tv shows of the MCU, also a ranking on what’s worth watching:
Ironman: Tony Stark is an awful guy and these movies reek with some weird propaganda and odd writing choices, but if you like Robert Downey Jr’s acting and the funny quips? Enjoyable enough films.
Captain America: 2/3 of his movies are pretty good once you look past more propaganda, although I think after the first movie it’s not as big of an issue for him. He’s a bit boring but his first movie, propaganda aside is pretty alright. I was so fucking tired during the second one so I barely remember it but I’ll trust everyone else’s judgement, it’s probably good. Civil war is god awful.
The Incredible Hulk: Half this movie is retconned, they recast Bruce Banner, they don’t really bring up this movie ever again and it’s awful don’t watch.
Thor: ALL of his movies are aggressively mediocre, yes even Ragnorok, that movie is only enjoyable because of Hulk. Thor is a boring character, his first movie is an alright one off but pretty boring and he has no need to have four movies like c’mon. His villains are not enjoyable and honestly I’d recommend skipping all but maybe the first ( if you already like Thor ) and Ragnorok, because that movie has important plot stuff.
Avengers: All pretty alright movies, especially Endgame that’s a great movie ( Scott Lang my beloved, tbh he makes it great ) and all of them are plot important would recommend.
Guardians of the Galaxy: All bangers left and right, amazing movies, hilarious, can be watched separate from the MCU spare for the third. The characters are wonderful and the only weak members of the bunch were post Guardians 1 Groot and Drax, but even then they were alright.
Ant-Man: His first movie is fucking amazing and it doesn’t even feel like an MCU movie which is my HIGHEST praise. Only watch the other two if you REALLY liked Scott Lang and the first movie.
Doctor Strange: Boring character, first movie was just alright, second was only fun because of Wanda and America. Other than that both his movies are kinda boring.
Spider-Man: If you like Spider-Man, these are great and still really fun despite the- MCU-ness. But if you don’t like Spider-Man the hype kind of disappears and it’s easier to notice the flaws, honestly I’d just watch No Way Home if anything.
Black Panther: First movie is good and solid! No complaints, haven’t watched the second although tbh pretty fucked up what Marvel has done to Tchalla after Chadwick Boseman’s death- mini rant but do y’all know that in like every Black Panther media right now even outside of the MCU they just killed him off?! Like imagine playing an iconic character and you die, and like it’s cool the movies are honoring your legacy! But then they kill off your character in comics, upcoming video games, etc like what the fuck?
Captain Marvel: It’s alright, not feminist at all the alt righters have lied to you. Biggest flaw of the film is the military stuff, the Kree and Captain Marvel’s actress because she does not emote the emotions she is supposed to in scenes so she just ends up visually looking like an ass but the writing wants to make her out as a playful girlboss???
Wandavision: GOOD!! Underrated honestly, Vision and Wanda are both wonderful characters and the filming techniques and storytelling is amazing. The pacing is off like all MCU shows but I think Wandavision makes up for it!
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: Boring. Falcon becomes Captain America at the end, boom all you need to know not worth watching, they don’t even explore cool characters like Issiah well and it sucks.
Loki: BAD SHOW. First 3 episodes are fascinating but then it becomes a shipping show all about Loki wanting to shag the female version of himself and it’s like dude WHAT. I never really liked Loki, but the TVA is a cool concept but it’s barely explored because of the Loki and Sylvia crap. The ending also sucks and explains nothing and the villain is boring.
Black Widow: It’s okay. Skippable.
What If…?: Eh it’s alright. Managed to make Thor more funny though than he’s ever been in his movies!
Shang-Chi: Pretty boring. Skippable.
Eternals: Boring and horrible and awful don’t fucking watch it it makes you brain hurt and oh my god was that harry styles at the end or was I hallucinating
Hawkeye: Haven’t watched it yet, I have a feeling it will be awfully boring.
Moon Knight: GOOD AND INTERESTING AND FUN!! MOON KNIGHT IS COOL! The depiction of DID isn’t. The best. They do show concepts in a more realistic way in terms of how alters are formed often as a survival method but it plays into some evil alter tropes and stuff so justified if you don’t want to watch. If you can enjoy the show despite that it’s a good watch! Steven Grant is precious I love him <3
Ms. Marvel: It’s? Alright I suppose? Middleground for MCU shows but ultimately skippable.
She-Hulk: I am. Mentally preparing myself to watch it okay I’ll do it later.
Werewolf by Night: Haven’t watched but I severely doubt it will be relevant to the overarching plot.
Secret Invasion; Haven’t watched. I hate Nick Fury.

I didn’t watch Secret Invasion but after seeing the spoilers I feel like I’m officially done with the MCU. Anything post Phase 3.5 just does not resonate with me anymore. Literally after finishing GotG 3 I was like, “Great, now I’m finally done with catching up,” because most of the characters I love are either dead, retired, or assassinated beyond recognition. (Spoilers for SI below:)
Rhodey being a Skrull is just. No. I don’t care how “well” it could be executed, the concept of it alone is just TERRIBLE. You’re telling me that one of the last faces Tony Stark saw was a skrull’s??? You telling me Rhodey’s accomplishments as an Avenger and a character beyond Civil War were all fake??? Rhodey who has been a staple of the Iron Man series and the MCU since Phase 1???
Also Maria Hill dies just like that??? Do the writers hate iconic Phase 1 characters coz wtf. Hill and Fury haven’t always been the most fleshed out characters but they’re ICONIC as a duo. And one of them just dies??? In the first episode??? I’m just. So mad.
Honestly the whole “Fury and Hill were skrulls all along in FFH” thing already pissed me off quite a bit, because I was so happy that these classic characters got to shine a bit in a post-Infinity Saga movie, and you don’t get a lot of that!!! But nvm, it’s a fake!!! Okay!!!
Are there still characters I care about in the current MCU timeline? Yes. Do I want to see more of Thor, Loki, Stephen Strange, Peter Parker and the Guardians? Yes. I’m still holding out for Thor and Loki’s reunion and Peter getting MJ back but it’s so. Tiring. Having to see these characters’ journeys get ripped up and tossed in your face all the fucking time. And I’m not fucking getting Disney+ to watch the shows!!!
TLDR: fuck marvel lol

A basic-ish summary of every MCU movie villain and antagonist for those who aren’t into the MCU like I am.
(Not counting shows because I’m not THAT insane. Also Spoilers, but you probably don’t care if you’ve either seen some of these films or have no intention on watching them.)
PHASE 1 (Not a lot of good villains here I’m afraid)
Iron Man’s Iron Monger- The first of many to steal Tony’s tech and your average ‘corrupt businessman’ who was like Tony’s co-worker/surrogate dad-mentor. Also happens to be The Dude. Kind of not impressive for the first canonical MCU villain.
Incredible Hulk’s General Ross and Abomination– The best example as to why the MCU isn’t as pro-military as you may think. (And later was dumb enough to think he’d have any power over the Avengers). The other one is your basic ‘villain with powers equal to the hero’ who ends up becoming one of the better characters in She-Hulk.
Iron Man 2’s Whiplash and Justin Hammer–I honestly haven’t seen this movie, but basically it’s another ‘guy who steals Tony’s tech’ and has whips, but not the fun kind. Also some dude who I think is meant to be the discount version of Tony Stark (and is played by an actor whose voice you might recognize as one of Dreamworks Animation’s best furry icons.)
Thor– Thor’s trickster brother who is the first of the most memorable villains…. And one of many ‘Tumblr Sexy Men.’ Comes off as smarter than Thor (and you might like to know what he’s SUPPOSED to look like if you have a thing for giant men in Marvel’s ‘What if”). Honestly I think Thor is the more attractive brother.
Captain America’s Red Skull–The head of a fictional branch of one of the most hated political parties in history so yes you should immediately hate him…. Also I’m angry because THAT is how you could pull off an accurate book version of the Phantom of the Opera with make up.
Avengers’ Loki–Loki again, but at least they picked a good villain for the big crossover. Screws with everyone’s heads for most of the film and tries opening a portal to space with a ‘totally not going to be important later on’ scepter and cube. Honestly his defeat at the hands of the Hulk made me laugh so hard that it’s still funny years later.
PHASE 2 (Slightly better, but mostly ehh...)
Iron Man 3’s Mandarin–I’ve never seen this movie either, but the villain managed to anger a lot of the comic book fans for a good reason. Hope you aren’t an Iron Man fan if you know what I’m talking about. But chances are you know the twist because it’s that famous.
Thor Dark World’s Malekeith–…. Damnit you just HAD to waste poor Christopher Eccleston’s talent, didn’t you? You promised me his character would get a good back story, but you’re dumb obsession with Loki cut down his screen time and turned him into another generic doomsday/conquering villain who just happens to be an elven version of Two-Face by a certain point.
Captain America’s Winter Soldier–Steve’s handsome brainwashed buddy with a metal arm. Was made so by Red Skull’s main right hand man whose idea of immortality makes black and green computer screens into nightmare fuel. Was also put on ice and un-frozen and re-frozen several times throughout the years. Oh yeah and something about a twist villain but I think you’d figure out who it was almost instantly.
Guardian’s of the Galaxy’s…. Ok wow I’m seriously blanking out on his name right now… Oh yeah, Ronan– Another genocidal maniac who wants to kill people just because. Was stupid enough to be distracted by Star-Lord’s dancing of all things. He’s especially lame.
Avenger’s Age of Ultron’s Ultron–Tony’s never ending bucket of dumb ideas leads to the creation of a genocidal robot who sounds like that California guy from The Office. His idealized ‘final form’ gets its own personality and becomes Wanda’s boyfriend before he gets dibs on it. He’s… somewhat entertaining, but kind of ‘eh’ at the same time.
Ant Man’s Yellow Jacket–ANOTHER ‘corrupt businessman’ who makes poor choices like doing business with Hydra people or going after Scott’s daughter. The latter proves to be the last mistake of his life and I would have personally kicked his ass if he harmed that sweet child. Also pretty bland. I heard he’d be coming back for Ant-Man 3, but I’ll be annoyed if he become’s the MCU version of M.O.D.O.K. like I heard about.
PHASE 3 (They get a lot better here… also Thanos is here too.)
Captain America Civil War’s Zemo–some random Sokovia survivor that did the impossible and turned the Avenger’s against each other…. At least we got a couple of good fight scenes between the heroes thanks to him.
Doctor Strange’s Kaecelius and Dorammu (or was it Dormammu? Some of these names are nuts)–That guy from Hannibal, but with magical powers, bad eye make up, and was dumb enough to not read the fine print. The other is a large purple dude (no, not that one) from another dimension that Strange defeats by trapping him in a time loop and thus annoys him into leaving. I’m guessing he’ll be important later.
Guardian’s of the Galaxy 2’s Ego–A giant planet that managed to turn into Kurt Russell and is basically Star-lord’s biological dad. Does and did some horrible stuff, but I don’t want to spoil it because the ‘wham’ moment, but it made me go ‘oh no’ right before Peter reacted.
Oh yeah, there’s also a golden lady and a guy with a name that people make fun of as if he’s a Captain Underpants villain, but they just serve as obstacles.
Spider Man Homecoming’s Vulture–A guy that got screwed over by the government and Tony turns to the black market with stolen alien tech, and flies around in a flight suit that’s way cooler than the comic book version. Is played by none other than the original Beetlejuice and 1989!Batman. Somehow ends up in what appears to be one of the least liked superhero films ever several years later (and even the die-hard fans are confused as hell by that).
Thor Ragnarok’s Hela and Grandmaster–If you wanted a hot female villain who wants to conquer you, has an understandable rage about being erased from history, and has a soft spot for her giant doggo, then boy do I have good news for you. Also there’s an obvious slave owner played by Jeff Goldblum so of course you’ll find him  despicable, but he’s Jeff Goldblum so of course you’ll be too charmed to care.
Black Panther’s Killmonger–T’Challa’s cousin who has understandable reasons for wanting to lash out at people who harmed all black people across history and modern times, but is too full of anger to realize why his methods are wrong. Would also make for a TERRIBLE boyfriend, so I hope you don’t fantasize over him. I can’t really find much to make fun of this guy since a lot about him really isn’t that funny and his final lines will haunt you long after you’ve seen this movie.
Avenger’s Infinity War’s Thanos- The giant purple dude obsessed with getting all the stones in order to make a gauntlet. Thinks killing half the universe’s population will save the universe. A favorite amongst most MCU fans and movie fans… but honestly he’s an abusive dad, so he doesn’t deserve much praise.
Also has four children with different names related to the color black, but you’ll only care about his other kids so I’m not going to bother describing them.
Ant Man and the Wasp’s Ghost–Lives up to her name by not being completely solid, but also completely hates it because it’s killing her… Ok, look–some villains WANT to be cured or get health care which was what Ava wanted and her condition did seem pretty awful. It was nice to see Janet heal her and then Scott and the Pym family made sure she’d have access to what was basically free health care and medication. (Is also going to appear in the Thunderbolts film and I won’t be surprised if she’s shipped with either Yelena or Antonia.)
Captain Marvel’s… was it Yorg? Rogg? Yrog?–Typical ‘mentor who is actually the bad guy.’ Honestly it says a lot that the cat was the best part of this movie.
Avenger’s Endgame’s Thanos–Basically Thanos from 2014, but still a tenacious A hole that tries to keep the Avengers from undoing what his future self did instead of just letting things play out. I mean it DOES lead to an awesome epic final battle (though the best experience comes if you’ve seen MOST of these films by this point). But the fact that he caught onto it feels like a ‘need to have an obstacle.’
Spiderman Far From Home’s Mysterio–They REALLY thought they could pull a twist villain? Seriously?! It’s a freaking Spiderman villain, why would you pull that off with this guy?! Anyway its some dude that claims to be a hero from another universe, but he’s ANOTHER person who Tony somehow annoyed. Uses special effects and illusions, a team of misused Stark employees, the drones he steals from Peter… but is too stupid to listen to any warnings when it comes to his personal safety. Is also a huge gaslighter and the kind of person you wouldn’t want in your life.
PHASE 4 (Some of these were surprises, but there’s more in the Disney plus shows that I’m not covering here.)
Black Widow’s General… Drekov? Drakov? (I give up). And Taskmaster–He’s not a good villain. Your typical evil general even. But he had a lot of women brainwashed to be his soldiers and had them sterile whether they wanted it or not, so of course you’ll hate this disgusting pig like I did. (And he gets defeated and it is oh so satisfying when it happens.) Taskmaster… you’ll either like the reveal or hate it, but a non-spoiler detail is that they are the ‘anything you can do I can copy it.’
Shang Chi’s Wenwu–A once immortal evil overlord that gave it all up to live in peace with his wife and raise a family. But proved to be a tragic reason why ‘going straight’ doesn’t come without a cost when his wife dies. Ends up going evil again and puts his kids through hell. And then thinks his wife’s village resurrected and abducted her so he’s trying to bring her back. Honestly I can’t find it in me to make fun of this guy, but losing your wife doesn’t give you a reason to be a shitty or neglectful parent.
Eternals’…. It’s a mix of Arishem, Kro, and Ikaris (yeah, no surprise there)– Some giant space god who created the Eternals and told them not to interfere with Earth’s fights (explaining why they were missing from key films) whose using our planet as an egg that’ll kill us when a new space God comes out. And is also voiced by the same guy who voices Sesshomaru (no seriously I’m NOT making that up). Kro… is one of the monsters the Eternals fights that gains powers every time he kills one of them… and Ikaris is ‘TWIST VILLAIN’ who is only so because he is stubbornly devoted to Arishem’s intents… and he’s like one of the blandest MCU character’s imaginable.
Spiderman No Way Home’s… ok there’s five villains (sadly we were one short of having an actual Sinister Six line up) and they get their own entries:
Green Goblin–Here to make Peter suffer and to remind the other MCU villains what a TRUE super comic book villain is meant to be. Back to scare the crap out of you and gets to ditch the mask to allow Dafoe’s terrifyingly good acting on full display. Rightfully earns his position among the MCU’s scariest villains and will keep you on edge if you’ve seen the original Spiderman film.
Doc Ock- A reversible Octo plushie in human form who just happens to look attractive. Provides one of the best fight scenes in the MCU, but gets one of the most amusing of defeats at the same time. If you’ve seen Spiderman 2 and care about him as much as I did, you will also love his character arc. He was also the main reason I wanted to see this movie since he’s my favorite. (And thank GOD they didn’t do the body swap thing from the comics).
Electro–Thor’s villainous counterpart minus a hammer…. Well actually its still Electro, but throw away the blue theme, give him a better outfit, and let Jamie Foxx do this thing. Also a MASSIVE improvement over his first appearance that has nods to his comic-book self. Not to good when it comes to making sure he destroys something properly.
Sandman–Name pretty much says it. Just fed up with everything like most people who don’t care about the MCU and wants to go home to his daughter.
Lizard–A scaly boy that just wants to turn people into lizards and also knows like the audience that things will inevitably go sideways. Ends up in the truck during a chunk of the film for reasons that are obviously to save money. Probably one of the few characters in the MCU to be naked throughout the entire movie.
Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness’ Scarlet Witch-What happens when an MCU hero turns evil and kills almost everyone on sight just to be able to kill an innocent teenaged girl for her powers. A worthy successor to Sam Raimi’s villains and who manages to be genuinely scary in a few scenes. Also I hope you watched WandaVision before seeing this movie otherwise somethings won’t make sense… oh right, the real villain here must have been Disney Plus in that case.
Thor Love and Thunder’s Gorr–What happens when a God fails to protect their people. Goes killing gods (which we won’t see much of) because one of them was a lazy ass who wouldn’t save his daughter from death. Probably one of the few best things about this movie and honestly you’d be rooting for this guy after seeing how most of the gods in this film ARE actual jerkasses. Also the movie wants to make him scary but he’s either too tragic or too corny for me to be scared of him.
And though I have yet to see it and it’s hard to tell if Namor should count as an actual villain yet, I propose that the REAL villain for the last film of phase 4 to be….
Black Panther Wakanda Forever’s…. The cancer that killed Chadwick Boseman– F*** you. You took away a wonderful human being from the world. A compassionate person who was well loved and admired by many. A man who was an actual king in spirit with true dignity and grace. You took T’Challa from us, but his legacy will live on in both the MCU and in the real world. And while I’m at at, F*** you for killing so many others that didn’t deserve to die so soon.

The Warriors Three
“Thor: Love And Thunder” is dropping soon, and I for one am absolutely pumped for it! Thor is my favorite MCU hero, thanks in large part to the cheer and warmth that Chris Helmsworth brings to the role, and “Thor: Ragnarok” is one of my favorite MCU movies. So as you can imagine, considering this is a toy blog, we’re gonna be talking about the toys! Specifically, 3 for the price of one, with the “Love and Thunder” Deluxe Action Figures of The Mighty Thor, King Valkyrie, and Thor!
Tumblr media
So why are we doing a 3 for 1 deal? It’s because each figure is similar enough that it’s a good idea, especially since the similarities make the differences more striking. To do a good review of one, you need to compare it to the other two.
Thor himself is an icon of the MCU. He’s the Norse God of Thunder who was banished to Earth to learn humility and became a galaxy-traveling hero and founding Avenger. Valkyrie was introduced in the third “Thor” movie as a hard-drinking, jaded brawler with a heart who later becomes King of New Asgard during the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” The Mighty Thor is actually Thor’s ex, genius scientist Jane Foster, who now wields Thor’s old magic hammer, giving her all the powers of the original Thor. As the movie isn’t out yet, there’s not much else known of her heroic identity, but I’m excited.
Now, I normally don’t do this, but I want to talk about the figure packaging. Each figure comes in a package with an image of the toy on the box instead of a window on the box to see the actual toy you’re buying. On the one hand, that’s great, because the toy’s not getting exposed to germs during a very much still ongoing pandemic. On the other hand, this does make it hard to tell the quality of the figure you’re getting, so any paint errors or damage will be a surprise. Each figure is wrapped in tissue paper and tied to a cardboard insert to keep it safe, though this did still result in my Valkyrie’s swords getting bent a bit.
Each figure has a gimmick that’s triggered by squeezing their legs. Thor raises and swings his hammer, Stormbreaker, Mighty Thor spins her hammer, Mjolnir, and King Valkyrie swings her waist to to the right so she can do a slash with her twin swords, which look like her Dragonfang sword from her previous appearances. How good the gimmick is varies from toy to toy. With Thor, it works great. There’s no problem and everything goes as planned. Mighty Thor runs into a slight issue. You need to position her right arm just right to make the gimmick work, Otherwise, it will either start but get blocked by her cape, or just halfheartedly work, with all the enthusiasm of a high school senior taking a final, and the hammer will stop swinging about halfway across. With Valkyrie, you need to hold her upright to use her gimmick, or else the weight of her cape weighs her down a bit.
Tumblr media
A full-body suit of armor seems like a good move, until Loki attacks with a giant magnet.
In terms of looks, Thor and Mighty Thor look great, like they just stepped out of the comics, which is good because that is how their in-film costumes are supposed to look. Mighty Thor honestly looks better, though, with more paint and details sculpted on, while Thor, despite also having great sculpting, feels like he’s a bit lacking on paint. As for King Valkyrie, while the figure mostly also looks great, I feel like Hasbro could have done better with her head. While it does look like her, and the hair’s really good, her head’s not quite in proportion to the rest of her. It’s just a little too big.
There’s one detail I absolutely love about all three toys; they have different body types. Thor’s a broader guy, with clear muscles and armor, but he’s not built like He-Man. His build’s very realistic, even with all the armor. Mighty Thor’s got some clear muscle and bulk to her, which matches how Natalie Portman worked out for the role, but it’s a more realistic build than we often see in female superhero toys. To quote my fiancee, “there’s a bit of idealism, but it’s not bad, honestly.” Valkyrie has a smaller build, which matches her actress, and has a completely unique body, instead of just a repaint of Mighty Thor’s. Considering how often toys just repaint character bodies, especially with female characters, it’s nice to see this toyline went out of its way to do better. It’s also depressing that “these two women got unique figures with different body types” is where the bar is.
Tumblr media
The one pose she can be in if you want to use her gimmick.
So yes, the toys look great. On the other hand, all three figures are very limited in terms of articulation. Valkyrie has the best articulation, since both her wrists, her shoulders, and her head can move around nicely, though her hair can hinder the head sometimes. Mighty Thor is also decent, though her shoulders have a little less articulation and her hair can get bent by moving her head. Thor, meanwhile, is the weakest with articulation. His left arm has the same shoulder limits of Mighty Thor, and his hair and cape block his head from moving much, to an even greater extant than the other two figures. Also, unlike Mighty Thor, who can move her arm the gimmick is centered around without the gimmick being involved, Thor can’t move his gimmick-infused right arm without triggering his gimmick. The arm will just drop down. All three figures have no leg articulation, because you have to squeeze the legs to trigger the gimmick. I do give them a pass on this, though, even after looking at Laser Blade Buzz Lightyear’s leg-triggered gimmick, because these figures had a smaller budget than Buzz did, so it’s understandable their legs aren’t going to be an articulation hot spot.
Thor and Mighty Thor are the strongest figures in this line, though Valkyrie only loses points because her swords are very thin and can get bent very easily. Don’t put her in a box or set anything on top of her, or else those swords are gonna suffer.
Tumblr media
Her sword got bent because I picked her up at a bad angle. BE CAREFUL!
The “Love And Thunder” deluxe figures are currently available at retail for about $16, which does feel like a little much until you account for the rising prices since the 90’s. By today’s standards, that isn’t bad. They’re very clearly aimed at kids, who will definitely enjoy them, and the gimmicks make for fun things to fidget with. I would definitely recommend them. Next time, we’re going to be looking at more “Thor” stuff, because I am PUMPED for this new movie, so be ready! This is JL, signing off and wishing you Happy Toy Hunting!
