So let’s talk for a moment about something I was discussing yesterday with my sister only to wake up today and be like “it’s so fuckin obvious why did we miss it?”, but also I think people tend to forget about it, idk.
So we were talking how Faramir is not giving 36 year old man vibes. He just seems younger, more emotionally invested in a way a 20 something year old would be. And then we checked how old are Éomer and Éowyn, because Éomer is in our mind somewhere near Faramir’s age and Éowyn is slightly younger.
So Éomer is 28 and Éowyn is 24.
And Faramir is 36.
And just to throw it in there, because it is important I swear, Boromir is 41 and Théodred is also 41.
And we also only then started talking how Boromir also seems younger than 41, like not much, but somewhere around 35?? Idk, he just has this adult spice to himself but with a hint of lost youthfulness.
And I only now remembered that those Gondor bitches are of the blood of Numenor. Not like Aragorn type of where we all know it’s crazy difference, but they still are.
So it’s now absolutely right to have Faramie vibe with Éomer and Éowyn and for those three to seem like being similar age.
And this also brings me to topic of Boromir/Théodred, one of my fav ships from lotr. Because they are technically the same age, but the line of Húrin is aging slightly differently. So I would risk saying here that Boromir would be slightly more, idk, childish? Less experienced emotionally and less mature? But still a grown man, if we are talking about their potential meeting in their twenties for example.
Idk, the concept of age with lotr is weird to discuss, because shit feels weird sometimes but then u remember none of those characters age as a normal human except the Rohirrim.
So i am deciding to just go with the vibe the character is giving me when it comes to writing.
And just to throw our 87 year old king here, he is in my mind somewhere around 38 to 41 if converted to normal person.
It’s an open discussion I would love to hear from someone who knows tolkien shit better than I do, because those are just some chaotic thoughts

headcanons for my fav tolkien characters and artists I think they'd listen to??
Thorin, Gandalf, Balin, Bilbo, Sam - def listen to Frank Sinatra and Perry Como
Elrond, Thranduil - they would listen to classical music and for some reason I think they'd especially like Beethowen
Lindir, Ori - ABBA
Fili, Aragorn, Faramir - Tupac (don't ask why I just feel it)
Kili - Sirmixalot (would be screaming Baby Got Back and Fili would join in)
Merry, Pippin - early 00s (Britney Spears' biggest fans)
Eowyn - Beyoncé (I really don't know and pls don't ask)
Boromir - would be one of those guys who says I don't listen to music and be dead serious about it
Dwalin - LISTENS TO DAD ROCK
Gimli - would listen to Wind Rose (I mean all dwarves would but he especially)
Frodo- listens to those whale relaxing audios cuz he can't fall asleep (it's funny I'm sorry)
Legolas - .... I don't know...
pls give me more ideas this is too interesting

Hey there :)) can I ask for a ship pls with a male or female character (or one of each) from the Gotham TV series, if you don't mind 😊
Rightio info, idk what really to say here that would be useful but don't worry I shall spare you the nitty gritty lol
Info:
female, early twenties, catholic, infj, introverted and quiet, I love music-all kinds from eminem to the temptations though I particularly love jazz and blues and nightwish, my fav albums that are kind of recent ish are disco by kylie minogue, hackney diamonds by the rolling stones and love for sale by lady gaga & tony bennet. My fav perfume is elizabeth arden blue grass and miss dior rose n roses. I love clothes and collect vintage clothing my ideal fashion aesthetic is the 1930s tho I'm not immune to a 50s circle skirt and pearls, 70s fashion is pretty cool too. I'm a librarian. Fav authors are agatha christie, donna tartt, tolkien, jules verne and h.g wells. My hobbies are pretty much just reading and listening to music. I'm irish and not to be stereotypical but swear a lot which I'm now finding embarrassing so I'm trying to stop as I find when every second sentence isn't filled with curses my mood is generally better. I like doing things alone like going to cafes, long evening walks in the dark and cold, going to the theatre. I really like November don't know why it's just my fav month.
~I've talked a mile there so I'll shush now, apologies that you have to read all that ♡
A/N: Please give feedback if anyone thinks this is ooc for Jerome. Also apologies if I didn’t fit everything you said about yourself down below.
I ship you with...
Jerome Valeska!
Tumblr media
Y’all make a pretty good pair.
Even one another out.
Yin and Yang type stuff.
He has a showman complex and ego so expect to be put in the spotlight with him without warning.
He’ll do his best to reassure you in any situation he puts the two of you in.
If you discuss with him privately that you don’t like it, he’ll try persuasion and reassurance on you.
All he wants to do is help you overcome this “introvertness” and feel confident in the presence of others.
In the end though, he’ll drop it if you seriously don’t want to change.
Your happiness is pretty important to him, surprisingly enough.
He might not be perfect at it but I feel like he tries to dance with you to some jazz music.
Any music for that matter.
He might be a bit sloppy when it comes to dancing since he’s never danced with someone before but he tries.
Obsessed with your fashion aesthetic.
Like the old cartoon where his eyes bulge and his mouth drops to the floor.
In a positive way.
Depending on the day and his mood, he’ll go out with you to different stores to find vintage clothes or send a group of his followers to go steal some for you.
Again it all depends.
Reading isn’t his favorite thing in the world but with you it is.
He’ll lay his head on your lap and observe your face while you read aloud.
Inappropriate comments and laughs are made.
Finds it hot when you swear.
Especially when mad.
Unless it’s at him of course.
Not saying he would encourage you to swear but he wouldn’t discourage it either.
If you tell him you’re going for a walk while it’s pitch black outside, expect him to accompany you.
If you try and reassure him that you want to go alone, you’re either going to be followed by his most trusted followers or forced to stay home with him.
He’s made a lot of enemies and he doesn’t want you being a target if he can help it.

what is the most underrated aspects about your favs that they have or that other people manage to tackle or portray that give you the brain scramble of feelings? sometimes certain people just get it and I LOSE my MIND, then I think it's a shame that they go under the radar because they do not hit the points that get others more exposure
Hmmmmm the first thing that comes to mind is @mmmthornton 's analysis on Tolkien which just perfectly describes him for me and hits the nail on its head for why he's a lot more complex and defined than the fandom at large give him credit for being (and of course how why him and Stan make perfect sense #stolkienagenda) and just all the aspects about him I love that's so underrated and unappreciated by the fandom at large. Creators that come to mind that get him RightTM for me is the aforementioned @mmmthornton and of course @thatsmyassbrostop, I think especially pertaining to his self-consciousness, his own unique dumbassery, his own unique charisma, his ignorance, his emotional intelligence, and just things that make him, y'know, human and not just another stock, unoffending, blank character most people default to.
I also have to mention the king @pcstan and his Shelly pieces dissecting her trauma, her complex relationship within the family that always is ignored within the show and fandom and just generally appreciating her for the very real teen girl she is (angry, awkward, insecure, etc) that we don't really see much of in TV (esp in this day and age 🙄). I've loved our in-depth talks about Shelly and her potential and he's really made me grow a new appreciation and fondness for her.
And of course I have to shout out @urspopinionsareshit for like...a lot of things, really. I feel like out of anyone I've come across in this fandom she's been the one that really understands Kyle as a character, and her very detailed posts going in so much depth has really made me re evaluate and grown a deeper appreciation and understanding of Kyle which had been frankly watered down previously through the fanon for me. And honestly the same goes for Stan, too - I was frankly never a fan of Stan until very recently, and I found her posts going into detail about the actual Stan we see in the show - emotional, sensitive, with nerdy interests - made me realise there was a lot more depth to him that I actually enjoy. I may not agree with all of her opinions, (mostly stupid stuff, like music taste lol) but her blog honestly breathed in new life in my love for this show and its characters.
I'll be honest and say I haven't consumed a lot of South Park fanworks in the last...I wanna say five, four years (maybe more?) for many reasons which of course includes my dissatisfaction with general fanon over the years, so my list is quite short here - and doesn't even cover all my favs, like Kenny, to name one. I just don't really have much to reference anymore, and I think I'll only trust a few to recommend me any fic or comic or whatever that I *might* check out, lol, but for the most part I'm happy with my little corner of the fandom for now.
I hope this answered your question nonnie lol, sorry it wasn't much.

matchup incoming <3 ->
What song are you fixated on at the moment:
NYE by joseph! second verse in particular ^^
Enneagram:
im a 2!!
Do you love gargantuan Youtube video essays, and if so, which is your favorite and why?
yes!!!! i love deep dive videos on internet culture from early 2000s. i also really like film analysis videos
Tell me about your childhood imaginary friend.
i liked chronicles of narnia a lot when i was little and i definitely played with imaginary aslan and lots of other talking animals
What is your go-to way to fall asleep:
smushed into just so many pillows and blankets that are good for holding with music/podcast/asmr playing and my cat snuggled up with me
If you had to change your name, what would it be, and why:
if i were to change my name i’d probably pick a family name since my name now doesn’t have any connections to anyone else. birdie was a family name that i think is rlly cute :3
favorite of Redacted’s audios, and why:
currently i think the david camping audio is my favorite. very soft and quiet and calm.
What Redacted boy holds no appeal to you, and why:
probably marcus. while i do think he is an interesting and well written character, i don’t see the appeal the way i do for some of the other more morally grey boys.
that one book/movie/tv show you know all the words to.
peter pan!!!
Which Redacted boy are you platonically attracted to:
asher is so bestie vibes to me i need to carry him around in my pocket at all times. i care him so much <3
go-to thing you ramble about:
i’m kind of a known rambler if given the opportunity so i’ll start going on about anatomy, work gossip, film theories, the games i play, anything really if someone offers to listen ^^
favorite playlist:
my favorite playlist has all my fav 50s and 60s music bc i am a hopeless romantic. big band songs to slow dance in the kitchen to type of theme going on.
And whatever else you think tells me about who you are:
i think im pretty hardworking and i spend a lot of time taking care of other people (probably a good time to mention the extreme eldest daughter syndrome).
in my free time i love baking and cooking. i can play a tiny bit of guitar and piano but most of my musical talent lies in singing.
that’s all i can think of :0
Tumblr media
It’s the little things with this entry. All the little, small, sweet things that make a life together, that you have in common, that make me think you’d be a really lovely fit for Camelopardalis.
Like, I can see Cam being a huge fan of the Chronicles of Narnia? (I think he loves all the classics, like the Lord of the Rings, and Tolkien and Lewis were contemporaries, so that works together.) He’d love smooth, crooning classic 50’s music; Cam plays it in a record player but not in a hipster way, in a “this is technically an antique” way. He’d love the leisurely, methodical routine of cooking.
Most of all, he’d love you. Twos are often categorized by a caring, giving nature and a desire to love and be loved. (Geordi, for example, would be a Two.) I think Cam is a good match for that, as he strikes me as the type of partner who’d be very open, communicative, and giving with his affection and in receiving it.
Song:
A heart that's true and longs for you/ Is all I have to give/ All my love belongs to you/ As long as I may live
Camelopardalis seems, to me, as the kind of man-shaped being who doesn’t fall first but falls extremely hard when he finally does. You would be a once in a very long lifetime kind of event for him, and his love would outlast you, the sun, every star in the sky.
Runner-Ups:
I also like Gavin for a Type Two. There’s something about the way he talks about his feelings that’s so effusive and raw that appeals to me for someone with the basic wants and fears of that Enneagram. Ollie, I’d pair with you because of the way his hardworking nature would complement yours. Ollie is dedicated but balanced, and I think he’d make sure you don’t overwork yourself.
Read this post and send me an ask if you’d like a match-up of your own! 💌
Note: thank you for your patience! I really appreciate you waiting 💙

I'm currently rewatching The Hobbit movie trilogy and honestly I do love the movies despite how they deviate from the book. Thorin is one of my fav characters ever and Richard did amazing. Curious about your favs and thoughts n feelings on the movies
Hiya! Okay. Well, I just finished the Battle of Five Armies just a few hours ago, so let's see.
The first movie, I liked well enough. They changed some things but overall kept the feel of the story, and though The Hobbit is a short book, doing a page for page adaptation just...would not work, it would be a mess. So I understand. All in all I found it enjoyable, with that warm fantasy sweetness well mixed in.
I really don't like the addition of Azog was necessary, at all. And I do wish they'd given Radagast a little bit more respect, at the least not put that bird mess in his hair and down his clothes. And while the troll scene was pretty good, hearing the dwarves scream about how very many parasites they had was a little jarring, and poor Bilbo, used as a tissue!
(Also, Fili and Kili are the Bill and Ted of the dwarves).
I would watch the first movie again, and I'll probably end up buying it.
The second movie...I did not enjoy.
My biggest issues were with Legolas and Tariual and Kili and Thranduial. Legolas shouldn't even be there, and his personality was very different. He didn't really seem like Legolas. Tariual I did not like having in there, but I just felt bad for her mostly, because her only purpose as a character is to be somebody's girlfriend. If you cut out the romance, there's nothing to her, theres nothing that makes her special or unique or interesting. And that's a shame. Also Kili's trousers line? Shame.
Also Legoas was rude as hell about Gloin's wife and child (its Gimli haha, Legolas said he was a little goblin thing and later on they become literally inseparable haha) and I just did not like that.
The third movie....was...
Well, spoilers at this point for anyone who hasn't seen it, but
Fili and Kili should have died together. They should not have separated them like that.
Also I really hated Kili saying that Taurial made him feel young. It's so cliche on it's own and him? HIM? KILI felt OLD beforehand? Since WHEN? If they'd wanted that line, they should've given it to Taurial, that at least would've made slightly more sense. But my sibling and I discussed it, and since in human years Kili would've been around thirty, we decided that he was just having a crisis. And Crisis Kili I can at least understand saying that a bit more.
Ah! Ah! I nearly forgot, why was Kili's head being cradled by a basket walnuts? That choice boggles me, I can't understand it.
Bard was a good father, and it was refreshing to see that for once.
The were-worms....shouldn't have been. We already have five armies going on, we don't need this HUGE EXISTENCE just randomly introduced like that.
Thorin and Bilbo's last scene was done very well, though when he (Bilbo) said his goodbyes to the party, it brought up an issue that has bugged me throughout-
THERE IS NOT ENOUGH AFFECTION IN THESE MOVIES
Hug, kiss, hold, clasp. These are Thorin's friends, his family, they all care so much about each other, but they rarely physically express it, and they should have, because that is a constant thread in Tolkien's works.
Thorin pressing his forehead to Fili's? That was amazing, there should have been more of that, spread out all amongst them. (Also, criminal underuse of Fili, across the board, btw).
And all the moments with Galadrial and Elrond ect and the ring I thought was both unnecessary and bogging down to the story. I know they want to make that connect to the LOTR movies clear, but theres already a lot going in Hobbit storyline in it's own right.
Bilbo and Thorin were my favorites, well cast and well acted. (Though I wish, I wish that they had given Thorin a proper full dwarven beard, Fili and Kili are the babies of the group so I can understand why for them, but this is the king! His beard should've been majestic).
So, to sum up- The first movie wasn't a great book adaptation but it was a pretty solid movie, and I enjoyed it.
And while the second and third ones had their moments that I liked, on the whole I didn't enjoy them very much, and I probably wouldn't watch them again, at least not anytime soon.
These are just my options though, you like them and that's good, because it truly is a wonderful story.

Favourite male name:D?
Let's go! This will be a very messy alphabetical list with 100% chance of containing my favorite characters' names (fav character=fav name) which means, as I make the list, its either Tolkien themed or regular male names😅 I also realized I'm even more terrible at male names than females names...
Aragorn
Beleg
Cúthalion (i'm so sorry i really really like his name)
Dior (it just looks and sounds cool)
Ecthelion
Finny
Glorfindel
Haldir
Illúvatar (im so sorry it cant be helped it's just a very cool name)
Jaylen (am running out of ideas...)
Karel (i dont like k that much)
Lórien (so sorry. it's how ppl mistakenly name a Vala, so it counts, right)
Mablung
Nathaniel
Orophin (because he's haldir's brother and he's not the other oro's)
Phineas (it's the long version of Finny. I just love the name too much)
Quinn (so sorry i really dont have any ideas on this one)
Richard (because PC Hobbs)
Strider (because i'm still very terrible at names and it's aragorn's name so why not)
Túrin (giving our most unfortunate man a chance. his name is actually short and nice)
Ulmo (because im so unfamiliar with this letter and he is a nice guy)
Voronwë (he's just cute!)
Washington (because of George Washington and I'm so sorry it's a last name but I do love him)
Xingyan (yep it's Chinese and it's my favorite for a reason *wink*)
Yun (because Zhao Yun)
Zhao (no this is not the same zhao, it's the first name of Zhan Zhao and that's because i'm giving up and going to chinese names)

top 5 animes ❣️
1. One piece
Tumblr media
Of course it’s one piece. Critically I wouldn’t say it’s the best adaption, it’s definitely got some pacing issues and I definitely recommend binge watching instead of the torture of week-by-week (also the manga is god tier #1 manga). Apart from that though, one piece is an absolute epic that has my entire heart. It really be a life commitment cause once you’re in, you’re in for life. Honestly not too exaggerated to say one piece changed my life for the better. If you like stories about found family, adventure, comedy, amazing characters and character develop, absolutely epic world-building on par with Tolkien and G.R.R. Martin then please give one piece a go. And if not, still give it a go I promise it will change your life ❤️❤️
2. Durarara!!
Tumblr media
Drrr, specially season 1, is such an amazing adaption. The characters, the art style, the music, my beloved shizaya ❤️ One of the very first animes i watched I still love to rewatch season 1 🥰🥰
3. Fruits Basket
Tumblr media
😭😭😭🥰🥰🥰🥰❤️😭❤️❤️ The perfect anime. Bittersweet slice-of-life, tragic and poetic, heartbreaking, yet hopeful. FB grabbed me by the feels and didn’t let go. Ngl I sobbed through most of it, tears of pain and tears of joy 🥺🥹 Critically speaking, in terms of character driven story telling FB is definitely my #1.
4. Hunter X Hunter
Tumblr media
HxH is extremely underrated in my opinion. It was my first anime so it has that special place in my heart. Along with OP it’s an absolute pinnacle of Shonen. Most of the time I get annoyed with Shonen anime but when it’s done right boy does it go off. Amazing characters, character development, story-telling, and world building 🥰 critically i would say hxh is my #2 just for how tight it’s story-telling is, it has good pacing too which is such a bonus. Honestly bad pacing is so tedious it’s such a turn off
5. Jujutsu Kaisen
Tumblr media
This was such a hard decision to make 😭😭 I didn’t really like JJK at first. It was okay but it was very Shonen and I wasn’t that invested in the characters. What really drew me in was Sukuna. I love his design, he’s an amazing villain and possession trope is 😮‍💨😮‍💨. Another thing that interested me actually was Kugisaki. So this was tying with Naruto for #5 but when I was comparing them I of course looked at the similarities of the main trio. I absolutely despise Sakura, not as a character, I actually want to like her so much, but just how bad kishi has written her honestly she deserved so much better. On the other side, Kugisaki, along with the rest of the ladies of JJK, are absolutely AMAZINGLY WELL WRITTEN. Like i love her so much I think she’s so interesting, three dimensional and it’s nice she’s not just a love interest for the men. A fully fleshed out character who’s a woman in this day an age? In my 2022??? Anyway besides Sukuna and Kugisaki, I decided to watch it for the animation alone, it is absolutely STUNNING, and that is why it’s beaten some of my other favs. It’s worth it for that alone. What really got me hooked was after I watched it I went straight to the manga and it’s one of those stories that just gets better and better with every arc. I am so absolutely ravenous to see the arcs of season 2 animated I apologise for the person I become when that happens 😅 Anyways, after I had caught up with the manga and was properly hooked I rewatched the anime a further two times welp 😅
6. Bungo Stray Dogs
Tumblr media
I COMPLETELY FORGOT BSD EXISTED FOR A MINUTE THERE NOOOOOOOO!!!!! Probably this is more so tied with #5. Anyway I love love love BSD. The first season was a lil eh and I wasn’t totally on board but DARK ERA SNATCHED MY WIG and I’ve been obsessed ever since. Up to date with the manga and very excited for season 4. Dazai alone to me is such an interesting character (kind of like Izaya that way). Also my beloved soukoku. And rare pair Ranchuu.
Honorary mentions: Naruto (very soft spot in my heart for Naruto it gets #6), BNHA (season 1-3, beyond that is a butchered adaption and a rant that needs its own post), Banana Fish, Haikyuu!!, Given, KuroBasu, ugh I’ve watched too many animes I can’t even remember them all. Also does this count movies? cause if movies count, NUMERO UNO ICHIBAN FOREVER AND EVER KIMI NO NA WA MY BELOVED 😍😍
(Also Shizaya your name au anyone???)

please keeping sharing more your graphics are beautiful 🙏
For the asks game:
N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice)
Hi there, lovely, 💖
I don't have anything to share rn! And come on, do you really want to be put through all that stupidity I do?
ooo yes ask!
Hmmm,
Tolkien and MCU:
1. There are so many popular characters in these fandoms, but I would like to see more on minor characters like in Tolkien; Feren, Fingolfin (defo needs more love), Merry and Pippin (yes, I'm putting them together lol), and there's more (gonna sneak in Haldir here cuz he's my favorite sorry). But really all characters (the good ones only.. looking at you Melkor and Smaug) deserves so much love! Within MCU, I would seriously love to see more on....umm... HELLO CLINT PLZ!!! SERIOUSLY WHY IS HE NOT RECEIVING MORE LOVE?!?! Ok, then with the Eternals, Ik it didn't make much sense, BUT COME ON DID YOU NOT SEE WHAT SERSI DID?!?! GEMMA CHAN ROCKED THIS!! AND HELLO CAN WE ALSO SHED SOME LIGHT ON SHURI!!?!?!? PLZ?!?!? I'M BEGGING YOU!!! Moon Knight is really popular rn, I loved the show but it's really not receiving the love should be! It needs more 🥰❤️
2. I would like to see more authors releasing theirs stories and fanarts with confidence. It doesn't matter if you 2 notes or 200 notes; it really doesn't! What matters is that you release what you love and what you want. And ofc it takes time for ppl to get to know you and your works, but if you don't do it now, you will never get there! So please, press that post button. If you would like my reactions to anything, send me a quick message please! Post what you did, give us the joy of reacting anything you create!
3. Words of encouragement (reblogs): It's really not too much to ask, is it? Reblog is so much better than that like button, you don't have to say anything seriously! A reblog is like silent words of encouragement to a creator! You have no idea how massively it helps someone. Show how much you enjoyed creation! Spiral out with words and all your feelings the creators LOVE it! ❤️. Seriously you guys! There so many ppl in this fandom! Keep it going! Encourage one another; Reblog and support your favs and new aspiring creators! How is one supposed to feel encouraged and motivated if the support isn't there? Why do you think so many ppl leave here? One day you wake up, and one your fav creators has left! WHY DO YOU THINK THAT IS? It's the creators' job to post and YOUR job to show support and love to it!
Ok, just gonna stop there now cuz I realised I ranted more than actually answer the questions! Welp sorry, thank you for the question.
I hope I haven't scared you away lovely 😢🥺💖

can i ask for a stranger things ship pls? I don't care if you pick a male character or a female character. Romantically could love anyone. Asexual.
I'm like 5' 4" which is tall for the females in my family 😂 Female. Black hair. Blue eyes. Irish. INFJ. 23. Christian. Hufflepuff.
I'm super pathetically unfit and weak and would so die within like two minutes of being in the upside down. Bought weights watched a bunch of YouTube exercise videos, hated the entire experience, exercise is pain, waste of money and effort, 10/10 will not attempt that shite again.
Spend my time questioning why I waste so much time. Yikes. Reading is lit it's like the closest thing to living in a different world. I like collecting vintage trinkets and clothes and cassettes cuz vintage stuff is like the closest thing to time travel. Love graphic novels haven't recovered from reading locke and key the premise of that was so damn cool. DC comics. Murder mysteries. Fantasy. Detective. Horror. Will basically read anything except romance novels or love triangle stuff. Although I have a set of romance paperbacks from the 40s and they are the funniest thing ever. Tolkien. Agatha Christie. Philip Pullman. Currently reading the umbrella academy.
Comfort Movies: LOTR it's so good that it's so hard not to cry at it, like you know sometimes when you listen to music and you get an ethereal otherworldly feeling and sometimes in nature you get that feeling, watching lotr causes that feeling too. The Iron Giant. Casper. Coraline. Aladdin.
Last movie I watched was the foo fighters movie Studio 666
Last tv episode i watched is taskmaster
Some hobbies are embroidery, reading, listening to music. Will listen to any music. Comfort music is Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Emeli Sandi, GNR Don't Cry. Fav band is The Foo Fighters and Twenty One Pilots. Others I like are Kflay, In This Moment, The Pretty Reckless, Halestorm, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Bon Jovi, Donna Summer, Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, The Scorpions, Jinjer, Kylie Minogue, Queen. Violet Orlandi. Avril Lavigne. I'm gonna stop now cuz I've already said way too many.
Things I like about myself: I like that I'm trying, I like that I have a much better routine, I like that I don't hold grudges, I'm strangely proud that I got hufflepuff on pottermore 😂
My clothing style theoretically is a mix of vintage 30s-70s and 90s. Although in practice cuz I don't really leave the house I mostly wear pyjamas or tshirts that I've sewed my fav lyrics onto. I wear long clothing to cover myself for a variety of reasons.
Insecurities: really shy legit can count my irl friends on one hand and honestly if it weren't for the effort on thier part I probably wouldn't even have any friends right now, mental illness plus being kind of a recluse isn't the best for maintaining relationships, faded marks on my face where I use to have acne, scar on my forehead from cracking it open, don't like the sound of my voice, this is a weird one but I'm insecure about the size of my skull I dunno I just don't think it's right 😂
I match you with...
Tumblr media
Eddie Munson!
He tells you that you don’t have anything to worry about and that he can and will protect you from any harm...and ends up tripping on his own feet two seconds later.
You’re both book nerds and lotr lovers, he would probably point out any incosistencies between books and movies but he loves the movies too.
Sometimes you exchange reading reccomendations when you don’t have any idea on what to read next and end up discussing in depth the plots.
He really likes your music taste and hopes that the music he does with his band will impress you.
We all know that slytherins and hufflepuffs are the best duo.
Lets you borrow any of his shirts if you want to.
He prefers staying home too so you’re stuck with him bothering you.
He finds it endearing that you’re shy and he’s usually the one speaking when you’re in public.
I hope you enjoyed it.

Can’t believe it just kinda dawned on me, as I was brushing my teeth, that Maglor, during the early Fellowship/Ring Council days, was probably still in contact with Elrond and hanging around close by, and knew that Mairon/Sauron—his dead family’s lifelong nemesis—was stirring some bad shit up, but he ultimately decided to just pull the “senior’s retirement” card and not offer up his no doubt exceptionally superior combat skills to assist in any way, shape or form
This is literally him and I love it

The Eye of the World (#1 in The Wheel Of Time) review: 18 August 2021
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I annotated this *intensely*, partly because I thought this was going to be a new favourite book. Although this book wasn't a new favourite, it was close. I definitely think this series has the potential to be a new favourite.
I ended up giving this 4.5 stars. I thought it was such a good introduction to the world and the characters. I loved everything we learned about the world in this book, and the fact that we're given hints that there's so much more to learn about this universe, makes me soo so excited. I can't wait to see how this world grows and expands in the next 14(13?) books.
The Lord of the Rings influences were everything. The Lord of the Rings is definitely my favourite fantasy world and series, and so anything that even remotely resembles Tolkien's work will always be a YES from me. I did reach a point where I was questioning whether it was maybe too similar to LOTR? I wanted it to be slightly more original, and thankfully midway through the book, 'The Eye of the World' definitely began to stand on its own two feet, which is why I enjoyed the second half slightly more than the first.
It took me a while to begin caring for the characters, I only really started caring for Rand towards the end. I hate Mat, so irritating istg. I adored Perrin though, the whole plotline with the wolves-- *CHEFS KISS* Honestly, wolves in fantasy books HIT DIFFERENT. I loved Nynaeve, disliked her towards the beginning but she definitely grew on me. I'd say she's my fav female character in this book? (which is so weird to say because I really did not like her at the start) & OF COURSE LAN 🥵 he's hot, don't ask me why because idk myself, he just is 😌 I'm so invested in Lan and Nynaeve AHH!!! The end of chapter 48-- 🥲 *pain*
I reallyyy really want to jump back into this world, and see what else it has to offer. But I'll probably put off reading 'The Great Hunt' until the new covers are released 😭
But yep, those are all my thoughts on this book. Have you read this? Are you planning on reading this now that the show has been an announced?? Are you excited for the show??? Tell me all your thoughts!!

Your piece about Maedhros and death is absolutely gorgeous and chilling. I have a thing about how Maedhros was one who had returned from the dead literally and afterwards his relationship with mortality is umm off
I love your writing

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I adore when Maedhros is in fun kinda awful kinda interesting situation! Like I'm probably half of your hits on Markers cause WOW I just LOVE the idea of mae being tainted in some way that only he can see?? That no matter what he does Melkor or Sauron could find him? And no one believes him, which is like Boom Bam why he desides to throw himself at the front lines of the war like a Big Red Target! (literally picks the tallest mountain to do this on too, like a very much a "look at me only at me" and that is not Great Mental Health especially since he was captured by melkor?? why would he want his attention on him???) like *chefs kiss* there is just something Nice about Mae being forced to Go Through It. Also if you wanna toss me a link to that idea id love to read it!!! Mea with an "uhh" relationship with mortality sounds GREAT
(one of my fav concepts i read somewhere, was that Mae would only be reborn at the end of the world and would do battle with Melkor or something and GOD that was an idea like how fun what a relationship with satan like you THOUGHT you were gonna face off with the guys father cause youve been grooming him and building up a relationship with him and do something so awful that he literally is willing to kill his own kin to get to you and then BAM his son just pops out of the woodworks and becomes the biggest thorn in your side (except for that damn elfgirl with her man and stolen dog))
((also side note i adore how you write Nolofinwe, "uncle not prepared to be the only adult in the room and all the kids have Problems" is my favourite flavour of Nolo))
ALSO It kinda bothered me while i was reading about how fast and well Mae healed, or didn't die in the first place from Melkor's torture. like sure, we can claim that he was Young and Healthy and Had Fire Burning Within Him or whatever, but also he had a Necromancer right there who was probs trying to get information or something out of him and more than willing to do whatever to get what he wants, which like... isnt a great combo.... who knows what would have happened
Mae and death i think go hand in hand like its such a good foil to have a character always being described as Full of Fire of Life or whatever be like one of the few characters to kill himself and in such a starkly different way than how Tolkien normally talks about Elven suicide. "The fade, they gracefully decide to leave their bodies, blah blah blah" like Mae is the only one we really see that so willing and violently destory himself, both in spirit and in body and its facinating cause again, hes described as so full of life normally.

In his heart he called her Tinúviel, that signifies Nightingale, daughter of twilight, in the Grey-elven tongue, for he knew no other name for her - the Silmarillion
We shouldn't be here at all, if we'd known more about it before we started. But I suppose it's often that way. The brave things in the old tales and songs, Mr. Frodo: adventures, as I used to call them. I used to think that they were things the wonderful folk of the stories went out and looked for, because they wanted them, because they were exciting and life was a bit dull, a kind of a sport, as you might say. - The Two Towers
“Ti ho mai detto che ho sempre voluto volare via?” “No, ma l'ho sempre saputo” “È per questo che mi sono fatta tatuare due ali: sono di drago perchè Oarf è il mio compagno e i nostri destini saranno sempre uniti; sono chiuse perchè non ho ancora preso il volo. Un giorno troveró la mia strada e le mie ali sulla schiena si apriranno. Allora potró volare via.” - Il talismano del potere

7, 8, 9, 10 (The Pheonix Potion for #s 9 and 10)
Hi there!
7) Fav time for writing: In the afternoon with a mug of tea.
8) Where do I get my inspiration from? That is difficult to say. I read quite a lot and I get attached to characters and then I imagine what said character would do in that kind of situation. I love magical systems and always try to get them, as in trying to get the logic behind them. I rarely get inspiration by real people I know, sometimes I describe how someone looks with a friend in front of my inner eye (but somehow that rarely bleeds into how these imaginary characters behave). I think, the best way to describe it is how Tolkien saw it. Tolkien was a devout catholic, believing in a good creator and he thought what he did was sub-creating: building worlds that have a history and fleshed out characters, languages etc. So what I do is sub-sub creating so to say, because fanfiction is taking the worlds of others and then I do something with them, changing this event, inventing something that was not there etc.  It’s difficult to describe, it‘s not exactly where do I get my inspiration from, but how. And the how is often something I don’t like about a story I like in general. So, if I would be completely satisfied with a story, I could not write fanfiction for this specific world. It often feels like I am sort of compelled: This version of the story needs to be told (or at least it needs to be there in my mind). One of my motivations to write Jonsa was the fact that the books are unfinished, one of my motivations to write HP fanfic was my wish to fix unaddressed problems.
9) My favourite scene from Phoenix Potion? There are many scenes I liked and many I looked forward to, when I was still writing the first chapters. My favourite would be chapter 80 though - The Mirror. Where Harry stands in front of this mirror and he finally understands what he did and in part also why he did it and then he pulls this confession out like a big cancer that ate at him from within. There is this huge sense of relief and at the same time the dread that it might happen that nobody will forgive him.
10) Why did I end The Phoenix Potion at that point? Well, good question: the mysteries were solved, the problems that had plagued Draco and Hermione for years were dealt with, the elves got what they wanted. So, it is a happy ending, with all the major plot point addressed and wrapped up, and yet, I didn’t want to end like JKR, not like “All was well.” Some of the general problems are still there, and although my characters have ideas what to do about them, we as readers won’t see them be solved (because problems of a society do not go away in a blink). Also I wanted my readers to have some room for their own imagination: If Harry will ever return to the auror department, if Draco will begin to cater for Hogwarts, if Colin Granger-Malfoy, James Potter and Richard Weasley will ever become friends or just learn to live with each other, if Meg will really be sorted into Ravenclaw, what kind of career Rina Granger-Malfoy will start after her journey with Luna and Blaise. I wanted to hint at possibilities without giving a straight answer. This way, the readers can come up with their own ideas what would be a satisfying ending. Some things are meant to be open. You can have your own headcanon about Lucius wanting to undo the curse (and Narcissa believes he did want that) but the characters will never know. That is how it happens in life sometimes. Some things remain unresolved.
The only alternative ending I briefly considered was for Ron to reconnect with Padma, but I’m glad I decided on another ending for him. It just didn’t feel right.
Thanks for the ask!
