Who is Alice and What is Zloy: An Essay* on the Lore of Zlobert Experience
Aka I did not watch hours of Zloy videos and dig through his Tumblr to keep this information to myself.
*This will not be written in essay format. I have a visceral hatred toward structured writing. Thank you for your understanding.
Zloy is a dimension-jumper/worldhopper, which means he spends most of his time doing whatever he wants wherever he wants. Of course, Zloy was actually alive at one point, and he had trouble surviving in servers he wasn’t native to.
The solution? An exosuit! What exactly this damn thing is is a little unclear, but it is, presumably, pretty good at keeping the man alive, and most likely has an awful lot of robotic functions, or at least can be easily fitted with robotic functions.
So Zloy was doing his thing in some world or another when he ran into the ghost of a witch. Said witch’s ghost then proceeded to steal Zloy’s original body for reasons that are unclear to me but might have come up somewhere maybe? (Zloy for the love of god please tag your lore consistently I’m begging you-)
Zloy, now disembodied and watching a witch run around in his former body, then proceeded to possess the nearest humanoid creature, as one does. Said creature was, of course, a zombie, which was allergic to sunlight, as most zombies are. Being possessed by the ghost of a Player didn’t exactly change that little fact.
Fortunately(?), Zloy knew how to cure zombie villagers! And, consequently, how to look after his new zombie body: golden apples and weakness potions. Of course, those can only manage an actual zombie so much, and also his body was kinda decomposing, and part of Zloy’s brain was being exposed to the open air and the guy was just kinda miserable in general, so he made himself a helmet out of his available materials. (Gold. He made a gold helmet. It got stuck to his head pretty much immediately. Now he’s even more miserable).
So Zloy’s wandering the land, consuming weakness potions and golden apples, a helmet glued to his head that he’s waiting to break but also really doesn’t want to have break on him, and eventually it does, in fact, break, because gold is not a very practical metal to make your helmets out of.
Unfortunately, the helmet breaking does not change the fact that it is still, in fact, very much attached to Zloy’s head. The golden apples, meanwhile, finally start doing something useful, so Zloy is now a ghost possessing a zombie with chunks of gold helmet embedded beneath his skull that conveniently work as sunscreen.
(either the apples or the helmet also turned his eyes yellow at some point)
And things are looking up! Not only has Zloy brute-forced his new body into being a fully functional Player, but his newfound zombie nature means he’s compatible with worlds by default, because zombs are a Minecraft constant. He’s free to travel the universe and cause problems for everyone, including himself!
Eventually Zloy finds his way to a little server called Truly Bedrock, where the moon is in pieces before they even start and the inhabitants are every flavour of unhinged imaginable. Zloy, who has seen weirder things than a broken moon and is also very unhinged, was right at home!
…Until said home got blown up by a chunk of moon.
And then the rest of the moon.
Fortunately, the TBers are frankly impossible to kill, even if they get bits of moon dropped on their heads every season finale. They’re like extremely weird cockroaches (affectionate).
So welcome to Season Two! This is where things get really interesting.
Zloy starts the season off with a shop in their new shopping district called the All Store. The All Store’s function is that people can both sell common resources to it, and buy from it, ideally creating a shop that restocks itself.
Originally it starts out as a fairly traditional chests-and-signs shop, but after a while Zloy gets bored waiting for the server to update to 1.16 I guess, so he revamps the All Store with an awful lot of well-explained redstone.
Realizing he’s kinda created something that could tangentially count as an artificial intelligence, he dubs it Allistore (Alice for short), mostly for the pun.
He then takes a break to reinvent the TNT duper because those don’t work on Bedrock. His solution is ghasts. He also builds a bunch of pirate ships and giant skulls because Zloy. He ignores the current ongoing serverwide problem that is beacons causing nether corruption in the overworld, but so does the rest of the server so.
Eventually going back to the All Store, Zloy gets to work and expands it once again and kinda rants in the general direction of whoever’s been messing with the circuits.
He finds a dark oak sign saying ‘hi’ in one of the dispensers, renames it to ‘henlo’, and chucks it into Alice’s water stream (which is set up to never let items despawn, meaning it'll in there forever) as a stupid joke.
Then he goes off to design a vault! It has elder guardians, cobblestone generators, obsidian, the works. His plan is to convince his servermate Dadcraft73 to pay Zloy for the right to put his diamonds in said vault. Dadcraft agrees, so long as a) the diamonds are insured and b) Zloy stores his diamonds in there as well.
…So the diamonds get stolen like a week later.
Zloy’s put on trial, and the court is a kangaroo court, and nothing makes sense and a definitely-not-Foxy-person shows up at one point while Judge Foxy steps out of the room, but he ends up owing Dadcraft hundreds of diamonds he doesn’t have.
Zloy finishes his expansion of the All Store, and checks his accounting chest to find not the results of his test run, but a face saying hi dad. Here’s the sign you lost.
So it turns out Alice is, in fact, sentient. Somehow. Neither they nor Zloy are quite sure why.
(It’s at this point Zloy switches from using she/her to they/them pronouns for Alice. Canonically they’re fine with both. )
Zloy installs a shulker box swapper so Alice can talk more easily than messing with the accounting chest, and then Alice tells him to get his act together and reopen so they can maybe earn Dadcraft’s diamonds before Zloy gets locked in his own vault (which is a very effective prison).
Alice mail-orders a mech from Mr Beardstone, who has a mech shop for some reason, and Zloy realizes Alice can look after themself and doesn’t really need him anymore. He gives them the diamonds he managed to accumulate and goes off to lock himself in his vault-turned-prison for the remainder of the season.
Alice is, quite frankly, having none of this, so they scan the inner workings of the mech and combine that information with a scan of a thing named Chuck that showed up like once and…. Look, I dunno what that thing is either tbh. There's no context as far as I can tell.
Anyway, these scans come in useful when Alice uses them to get Zloy’s old exosuit working and operational and they finally have a player-sized body to work with, so it’s time to bust Zloy out of jail!
Alice basically tells him to get his act together and get mining, because apparently he hasn’t told anyone other than Lyarrah that his shop is a person, and they don’t particularly want to get repossessed.
Zloy does a lot of mining and gives Dadcraft a stupid amount of diamond ore arranged in the most obnoxious tree he can manage and that’s the end of that.
The TBers finally decide to do something about the ongoing beacon corruption, and JessieB comes in with news of an extremely big, extremely ominous nether portal that will spell the end of the server.
Naturally, the TBers go to investigate, and learn that the extremely big, extremely ominous nether portal will not, in fact, turn off. And then a giant magma cube came out and started destroying stuff.
While most of the TBers ran to upgrade and fire FoxyNoTail’s giant laser, Zloy and Beardstone split off to make a giant mech out of shops for Alice to pilot, and Alice fought the giant magma cube… at least until the laser destroyed both the mech and the magma cube.
The problem, as you might imagine, is that giant magma cubes tend to split into many, many, many smaller (large-size) magma cubes that are now swarming the entire server. The things are everywhere. There’s no escape.
Foxy figures that hey, they haven’t had the moon fall on them yet, may as well get it over with. He shoots the moon with the aforementioned laser, and everyone hauls tail into the very secure, apparently moon-proof vault/prison. Zloy doesn’t want to leave Alice to die, but Alice just kinda yells at him to get in the vault, they’ll be fine, they literally can’t die as long as the All Store still stands.
Zloy grabs part of Alice and goes, and then another chunk of moon lands on the TB server because these people really can’t go a season without that happening. It’s a wonder they have any moon left.
Speaking of which, the moon is suspiciously fine for Season 3. Not only is it in one piece, something that has not been the case for the server’s entire history, and also Alice shows up and starts acting really weirdly about halfway through the season (the thing Zloy grabbed turned out to just be a monitor).
Turns out Season 3 is a simulation run by Alice so the TBer’s brains don’t die while they heal from being squashed by the moon again. Unfortunately, Alice had to strip a lot of Zloy’s permissions to make this work, so even if they do pull everyone out, Zloy will be left without a functional body, and- no, stop offering yourself up as sacrifice you stupid zombie.
They break the server via the medium of maps, because maps in bedrock servers take up obscene amounts of data and completely destroy the file size. That’s not a TB-exclusive thing, that’s just a known problem with bedrock edition.
They get out, but Zloy’s body is, in fact, no longer functional, so Silent chops off his head and they take it with them. Zloy is fine, if rather grumpy from being stuck in Silent’s hotbar and unable to do anything except loudly judge Silent’s actions.
Eventually Silent gives up and gives Zloy to a random zombie he finds in a cliff, and Zloy, once equipped, is once again able to possess the zombie’s body and is capable of making that everyone’s problem, including his own.
Alice shows up eventually, names his overcomplicated autobrewer, and starts chilling in his hotel.
In short: Zloy is a ghost possessing a decapitated zombie head possessing a zombie. Alice is his offspring, an immortal AI/building who is able to use player-sized proxies to interact with people in a more traditional way. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

The first time EX tried to threaten Cleo, she attacked him before he finished speaking. Frustrated, he asked her if she had any respect for the sanctity of villainous monologues, at which point she replied nope, her best friend was Joe, and if she had any regard for monologues she'd never get a word in edgewise.
Xisuma always lets him finish monologuing! Xisuma wouldn't kick him in the shins when he wasn't looking, either. Well, as Cleo informs him, she is very much not Xisuma. Get used to it. Now, square up - for the sake of the "sanctity" of your hitpoints. >:)

(Hermit Canyon AU) As Puffy teaches the Hermits more about the history and dynamics of the DSMP, she learns about Hermtcraft's history as and culture as well. The Civil war, the Turf War, both in good fun. The way they can build massive structures without fear of griefing. The way their admin is treated as a player, not as some fickle god. Unlimited lives. It's so totally different from anything Puffy knew as an SMP. She knows it would probably be rude to ask if she could join them permanently, but that doesn't mean she won't close her eyes and imagine for a few moments.

Was going to try drawing up an info-graphic or diagram for the Last Player AU by @rayveewrites but I've kinda hit a wall coming up with a topic to cover.
Originally thought about an overlay map of Earth to show where all the mentioned “worlds” were (Empires, Hermitcraft S7, 2b2t, just naming the ones I recall), but that’d be a very barren map, and Rayvee’s been leaning away from mentioning non-Hermit players too much anyway, so something different might be better.
If anyone has ideas, let me know. This AU occupied my mind for a few days at least when I first read it and i’d like to show my appreciation even if Rayvee’s not working on it actively right now. :)

idea for zloy and pixl channel concept, at one point the channel gets big enough that some big company or whatever like buzzfeed (buzzfeed unsolved collab when /j) ends up offering them a sponsorship so they can do an actual video in hermiton which they end up accepting and now zloy has to find a way to legally ride a plane before the time hits where they have to leave
Pix: Hey Zloy! Fantastic news- we've been sponsored to go to Hermiton! In person!
Zloy, rather nervous: Okay, so, small problem: I don't have a passport.
Pix: Well, time to apply for on I guess?
Zloy, panicking: I can't.
Pix: Why not? I can help you with the paperwork.
Zloy, panicking even more: I'm legally dead.

Here's a little snippet from a few hundred years before the Last Player AU takes place!
You’re trying not to panic, but it’s difficult. Your heart’s thudding in your chest, and you can’t think straight. Your husband is beside you, calling your son’s name.
He ran into the forest hours ago, and neither of you have seen him since.
Stupid- it was stupid, what you said. What you all said. Things have been hard lately, stressful- but that’s no excuse. That’s never an excuse.
Now your son is missing, and it’s all your fault.
You call his name, again and again, saying that you’re sorry, you didn’t mean it. Of course you didn’t mean it- you’re his mother. You love your son. You care for him, even if he drives you nuts sometimes.
But he’s run off, into the forest. And god knows what’s roaming around in there.
You keep calling.
-
“Hello?” You turn, startled. A woman is standing there, holding your son by the wrist. You call his name, and the strange woman lets go. Her eyes are the brightest shade of green you’ve ever seen, and her long red hair cascades down her back in waves. But her eyes are sunken, her cheeks are hollow, and her pale skin is green and rotting. She’s wearing a shirt, and pants- men’s clothes, although on these the sleeves have been cut off, above the knees, above the elbows.
You’ve heard stories about monsters, creatures that have lurked for centuries in the forgotten corners of the world. You didn’t realize one was hiding so close.
On one hand, you should tell someone. This being is dangerous, monstrous, a demon walking the Earth.
But… she found your son. He’s unharmed, unscathed.
“Who are you?” Your husband asks, and although he’s big, and strong from working the farm, you can hear the tremble in his voice.
“Cleo,” the woman said simply. “Son lucky I find before dingo.” Her voice sounds strange, like English is an unfamiliar language to her.
“No harm you no harm me,” she adds, perhaps in response to the glances you and your husband share.
“You… won’t hurt us if we don’t hurt you?” you ask, trying to keep control of your voice.
“Yes.”
“Does that go for everyone?”
“Yes.”
“Cleo,” your husband says hesitantly. “Why- why are you here? Do you live in the forest?”
“No live anymore,” she replies. “Stay in forest. Wait.”
“Wait for what?”
“Family.” She turns away.
“You’re waiting for your family? Are they monsters too?”
“Not blood-family. Home-family.” Cleo pauses, glancing back. “Will return. One day.”
“How do you know that?” you ask, because she sounds so convinced.
“Because the Universe said I love you,” she replies. She takes off, darting through the trees, a shadow among the foliage.
And then she’s gone.

Holy hell, Joe Hills is here, resuscitated and reunited with Cleo here in 2021 A.D! Or, you know, F.U, what with the Final Update and all. Does that kind of world-shaking event have an effect on date formats? Hmmm
I've fallen in love with this AU, your world building is absolutely gorgeous & Cleo-centric anything is a joy to see... And now that Joe's here some real chaos is about to happen! Left to her own devices Cleo will happily live up to the name of her server, but Joe? Man's got the gift of the gab, and you bet he's going to use it to cause problems On Purpose >:)
Very interested in knowing if Cleo's recovered any of Joe's possessions from museums, or perhaps the duo will celebrate their reunion with a heist?
"Howdy, y'all! Joe Hills here, Respawning as I always do, now in 2021 PFU! For those of you whom are unaware, PFU stands for Post Final Update, a method of timekeeping that Cleo and I completely made up."
Cleo has been living alone for so long that having another Player- even if it's someone she's as intrinsically familiar with as Joe- around and living with her is honestly strange. She doesn't mind though- gods know she's missed having him around! He keeps her mentally stimulated at the very least.
Of course, Joe may be older than Cleo, but she's been on Earth for the last two thousand years while he hasn't. She's been scarred by loss, he hasn't. And Joe has always been a lot more social than she is.
Joe, to his credit, is mostly keeping in and near her base, and not really venturing outside the forest too much. Not that she's banned him or anything (and it wouldn't work if she had), but he's been keeping close, and for that she's grateful. Even if she suspects it's for a completely unrelated reason.
See, Joe has always been difficult to understand. He's weird and has a habit of using obscure phrases and bizarre terminology.
But the thing is, language changes over two thousand years. It changes a lot. Cleo is the only person who even has the slightest inkling as to what Joe is even saying.
Nobody else knows what he's going on about. Cleo used to 'translate' for Joe, back when Hermitcraft was still ongoing, but now her translating is a lot more literal.
(Joe's learning, of course. Eventually he'll figure out the modern English language and then all bets are off. But for now, he has to rely on Cleo.)

So @clueative commented on my Last Player AU post with a request for a vaguely-defined 'more', so I guess here you go?
Today we're talking about the relationship between Cleo and the citizens of Hermiton, because why not.
So the thing is, the citizens in general don't really know what Cleo's deal is. They're aware that she exists, that she lives in the forest, that pissing her off is a bad idea but she might help you out if you manage to get lost (the forest is actually officially considered a state park, because nobody can really do anything else with it without Cleo interceding, and Cleo herself doesn't really exist from a legal standpoint). So it's typically believed she's some sort of fae-esque being, or something. It's not really clear.
Cleo herself doesn't really talk much, not to Humans, anyway. She sort of subconsciously chooses to distance herself, because she's Undying and Humans, well, aren't. She's lost plenty of people over the years, and it hurts her every time. It's better to not get attached at all, even if it does mean she does get lonely.
It's worth mentioning that Cleo can and does leave the forest! The forest is where she... dwells (can't exactly say lives, can I? And it's not her home, not really, because her home was never a place, it was a people), but she's free to exit it. She goes into the city sometimes, usually at night, covered up so the unnatural hue of her skin isn't as obvious (the orange colour of the streetlights also tend to throw the colour off). She pays for things legitimately, usually by selling off gold nuggets that she got from mining, because what else is she going to do with gold? Besides, it's the currency here. Even though it's practically useless. Eh, maybe Humans have discovered some use that she isn't aware of. Who knows.
And yes, the gold nuggets do, in fact, reinforce the faerie theory.
Now, here's the odd thing: Cleo doesn't talk much, but she does talk. But the citizens still refer to her as just 'the Green Lady'. Why is that?
Basically? Nobody thinks to ask. The thing is... Cleo's a zombie. Not only that, she's the only zombie left. And Humans fear zombies instinctually. Even though zombies- true zombies- haven't existed for thousands of years, there's an ancestral memory that fears the monsters of the night. And Cleo tends to activate it.
So often during encounters, people tend to freeze up, and stumble over their words- they're not really in the headspace to ask for her name until they start to relax, and by that point the encounter's usually over. And Cleo just... doesn't think to mention. She's used to instinctively knowing someone's name when she looks at them [the equivalent of Players being able to read Player tags/ nametags], and keeps forgetting that Humans can't do that.
She does have a degree of respect for them, though! While it's difficult for her to wrap her head around the fact they don't see the world in blocks and chunks, she's aware they don't have things like inventories or much strength, and can't help but feel impressed that they manage to build things in spite of this (once she tried to go a week without using her inventory. It was a pain in the ass. Using it is just second nature to her).

Okay I lied, it looks like we're getting Pokehermit story now.
In my defence, the inner machinations of my brain are thoroughly unpredictable.
The corridor is quiet, save for the clack of your foreclaws on the floor and the ever-present hum of machinery. The hall is empty, just you and the white surroundings, interspersed with lights or doors. You still don’t like this place much, but the bad memories have faded somewhat, dulled by your Trainer’s compassion.
Besides, you’ve been still too long, and you need to move.
You almost miss the soft sound, barely at the edge of your hearing. A human would never have picked up on it; it takes you several heartbeats to pick it out. Once you do, you strain to pinpoint it. The sound is unmistakable.
Crying.
You spend a while trying to pinpoint its direction, hampered by the fact it’s so soft and by the way it seems to fade at some points. Eventually, though, you manage to track down the sound, and come to a door. No matter; your foreclaws are nimble enough to manipulate the doorknob.
It’s locked. It’s locked. What bloody god decided this would be funny? You could tear the door down, but you doubt it’ll exactly be comforting to whoever’s inside. Which means you’ll have to find a Human with the keys.
-
You don’t find a human. You do find a stray Klefki, though, and you manage to convince her to help you. Fortunately, she has the right key, and you thank her politely and promise to look out for her (she has some keys you’re pretty sure she shouldn’t).
It takes you a bit to recognize the lab behind the door. The enormous cages lining the walls, the places where machinery have been torn out, the claw marks on the floor. It’s the place where you and your Trainer found the fused humans.
The room has been abandoned, now. Most of the light bulbs seem to have failed, the cages are showing signs of rust, and a layer of dust covers every surface. You pad forwards, scanning everything. The sound of the crying had stopped before you’d gotten back.
You hear the slightest movement, something shifting minutely, and you turn. There, huddled in the darkest corner, two large red eyes gaze back at you.

if you want someone to ask about the pokehermits au, what's up with etho?
Etho’s kinda a weird one. Which should come as no surprise, honestly, because this is Etho we’re talking about, but it does bear mentioning.
Etho was fused with a Greninja, which was probably a mistake because he immediately used his abilities to cause problems for the scientist, at least until they branded Xisuma’s cheek as punishment. Even now, many years later and free from the hell of Aether Labs, Etho still uses his powers to Cause Problems On Purpose.
His hands and feet aren’t webbed, but they do have sticky pads he can and does use to scale buildings and the like. He also has the white ‘bubbles’ on his elbows and knees, and his tongue is just… weird. It’s weird. He wears that facemask for a reason. The reason is that he doesn’t like people touching him and they’re less likely to do that when he has the mask on. But it also stops people from seeing his tongue so that’s a nice bonus.
He’s usually hanging with Beef or Iskall. Sometimes (often) Doc and Bdubs are also there. Etho has terrible posture. He appears to be shorter than Bdubs 90% of the time. Then he straightens up and Bdubs loses his mind every time.
His moves are Water Shuriken, Shadow Sneak, Smokescreen and Double Team, and he uses the latter three in particular to pull off really bizarre stunts.

I've been absolutely obsessed with the Last Player AU and wanna know just one thing: How do/did Texturepacks/Rescourcepacks work?
So, you know the theory where we might not see the same colours? As in, what one person sees as 'red' another person would call 'blue', but you know it as 'red' because that's what everyone else calls it, although they see it differently, and the only way we'd ever know would be to see through somebody else's eyes or something, and it's just this whole existential thing?
Yeah. That. Except they know about it and can change it because magic.
