somehow during a camp scene with shadowheart i managed to select a dialogue option that astarion approved of without even realizing it. like second nature.

ice and his obnoxious ass academy ring are my fav part of TG 86'
does your mav have any thoughts ab his husband wearing that damn ring
he’s probably still a little bitter about it but it’s not like ice SHOULDNT be proud of going to the USNA or anything so what is he gonna do, ask him to take it off??
i have this image ive yet to incorporate into any of my writing where ice spends his whole life with the USNA ring on the fourth finger of his right hand & feels a little imbalanced. something’s missing. & then he marries maverick, and he has the wedding ring on the fourth finger of his left hand, and finally he is complete. he has both. he is both a great officer and someone capable of love. neither side is subservient to the other anymore. they coexist in harmony at the end of the day. and of course that’s something maverick would respect.
oh shit brb adding that image to my slider one-shot rn

Poll time!
I'd love to hear your reasonings for your responses! See below the cut for my own take, but only after you vote! :P
Putting this out there bc I've read a lot of BBM fic and I always thought it was pretty clear that the whole "Fellas like you and me, we march off to hell" "You may be a sinner, but I ain't yet had the opportunity" scene was Ennis slyly admitting to Jack that he was a virgin.
There are no lines that directly say this is the case, neither within the movie script (although there were rumors that an earlier draft had Ennis saying smth like "You may be a sinner, but Alma ain't yet given me the opportunity) nor the short story (unless you take "nothing he'd done before but no instruction manual needed" as the narrator saying Ennis had never penetrated anything before, which is how I have always understood it). I just always felt like Ennis assumes that Jack, the a swaggering, cocky rodeo dude, is more wordly than him and has been presented with a lot of different opportunities to indulge in what their conservative Christian society considers sin and vice... including premarital sex.
So imagine my surprise when I found that a surprising amount of people write Ennis as having had previous sexual experiences before ever meeting Jack. There's nothing wrong with it, of course, like you can interpret these characters however you want yanno? I just don't personally agree with that assessment.
Not to like... give any validity to the idea of virginity since at the end of the day it's just a social concept, lol, but I just think it's really important narratively that Ennis lose his virginity to a man. Like, he's been worried all his life about the consequences of queerness within men, and yet the seemingly first time he's ever presented with the opportunity to have sex is with another man, and he absolutely jumps at it. That point is in tandem with my belief that Ennis is the type who probably never pressured good lil Christian Alma for sex, which probably also leads him down a mental spiral after that first night with Jack. What does that say about him, that he was perfectly content with Alma not putting out, but that he did Jack with an angry enthusiasm the first chance he got? He might deny that it doesn't mean anything, but you know he lingers on it all the time.
Plus, I just think it's really cute that Jack is his first time. Jack, who he's been really drawn to since they first met. Jack, who probably became his first and only friend in life. Jack, who understood him in ways that Alma never could. I just really like the idea that Jack was the first person he ever had sex with, and the love that grew from there kept them coming back to each other over the next 20 years of their lives. How many people can say that they stayed loving the first person they ever had sex with that long? His relationship with Jack lasted longer than his own marriage, for Christ's sake.
Anyways... incoherent rambling over. I'm excited to see the results :3

So i was tinkering with the Ameprod TVG-10 pong console i got, and was curious to test out if any of my AY-3-8500 chips are working, as the original one in the console started to malfunction (the score part of the picture lost started going shaking around the screen, like it lost it's synchronisation).
So it turns out that, all other 2 AY-3-8500 chips that i have bought (because of an earlier repair attempt) are all in working condition:33 (which means money was spent unnecessarily).
And i was curious to test out the original AY chip that was in the first Pong console that i bought (Universum TV Multispiel 2010, the one that looks like a tv pilot/phone, and is basically a clone of Radio Shack TV scoreboard without lightgun capability), and OMG it also works!!
And so (for now) i have only 1 faulty AY-3-8500 chip
(I assume produced in 5th week of 1983)
This would have been an expensive repair in Poland at the time, as these could only be bought via foreign currency (idk how to translate dewiza to English).
In 1980, Elwro (which was the company responsible for producing computers/calculators/precision electronics), bought around 10k IC's from General Instruments, and around this many consoles were produced.
After the supply of bought IC's ran out, Elwro reached out to Ameprod (which was a Polish company functioning in the USA, and mainly imported western commodities to Poland), and after some adjusting to Polish laws about trading (both companies had to do work with producing each unit of the console, so for example the case and main board was manufactured in Poland, then was sent to Ameprod which soldered and screwed it all together), the production lasted all the way till end of 1983, with 100k units produced total.
It was the first and only mass produced (as there small test runs of other video game consoles previously, even back in 1977) polish video game console.
It's easy to say that it was many people's first ever encounter with a video game (or even the possibility of being able to control the picture on the screen i suppose), as then almost no one owned a home computer, and that really haven't changed until the mid-to-late 80's (in Poland).

half baked early morning thoughts : when i say zestial's not a big fan of technology or certain styles , that's true --- in the modern sense & how quickly it's moving. he's like .. eighty or so years behind the mortal realm & as such most of the new(er) sinners are quite hard for him to relate to. ( save for verses where he has a specific reason to look more into it. ) give him another twenty years & he might have a landline ! his voicemail would be a horrific curse placed upon you though lbr but i think the more time that passes & the more advancements made will only further that gap.
someday i will go into detail about how zee probably helped curate a lot of what information's out & about in hell ( pride ring specifically obv. ) all those accounts digitalized had to come from somewhere & he's not above censoring to fit his needs. partly why i have some of his information redacted ( definitely not because i'm still cooking on it & trying to put ideas into words. )
occasionally he'll incorporate new things or styles into his day to day ( i,e. his personal home being a more 1800s style architecture wise vs the 1600s gothic cathedral of his base for business that's more reminiscent of the time period he was alive in. ) he just needs some time to acclimate. this includes clothing , even his hat will be changed out occasionally but the patched one is undeniably his favorite & is repaired rather than replaced. yes. he wears more than a rag & cape. yes. there are still usually ruffles, he's extra.
BUT i do think up till the 1940s/1950s he was more on-top of things , he rather enjoyed alastor's radio show , has a gramophone / record player , knows swing dance , enjoys jazz & ragtime music ( although he'll still often lean towards classical ) , not even totally opposed to a black & white film occasionally ! he's just a little petty & stubborn about moving on so quickly. there needs to be ample time to appreciate it.
wait i had to edit this. zestial pays in cash, checks, secrets, blood or sacrifices. he's like motherfucking ron swanson. this man does not use a credit card. he's probably got buried treasure.
